Adolf Hitler And The Assassination Contributions Of The...
Throughout history there were many plots that took place against Hitler, all of which failed to kill the
Dictator of Germany. The most important assassination attempts were known as Operation Spark in
1943, and Operation Valkyrie, or known as the July 20th Plot, which took place in 1944. The
importance of these assassination attempts was the people closest to Hitler, who has the realization
that the country was going to be destroyed as long as Hitler was in power. However, these
assassination attempts ended with Hitler sentencing the conspirers to death by the hundreds, making
him more paranoid than ever and forcing him to continue with the losing war effort on the western and
eastern fronts. Although the assassination attempts failed, they were able to play their part in helping
the allies secure victory over the Nazi Regime. Inevitably, the only man that could end the war, and
the only man that could kill Hitler, was Adolf Hitler himself. Perhaps the most well prepared plans of
the assassinations of Hitler were due to the work of a high ranking military officer named Henning
von Tresckow. When 1941 came around, Henning von Tresckow found himself sick with the actions
of the SS and the Gestapo in the areas they were operating. With his military connections, Henning
von Tresckow was able to recruit other military officials to join him in the fight to overthrow Adolf
Hitler and the Nazi Regime. The allegiance to the Nazi Regime began to weaken in early 1943
because of the horrific loss to the Soviet Union in the battle of Stalingrad. Henning von Tresckow and
his collaborators saw this as a window to take out Hitler, and gain control of Germany putting an end
to the war. Operation Spark was planned to take place at the Army Group Centre, which Henning von
Trescknow was the Chief Operations Officer. Hitler was visiting the headquarters and would stay for
dinner before departing back to Germany. Trescknow and his crew contemplated which method to use
in the assassination, but ultimately decided on a time bomb. The collaborators would sneak the bomb
into a case of Cointreau, which Trescknow would ask for them to take back to Germany to deliver to a
friend of his. As Hitler and his team boarded the plane, the

US Immigration Policy
The Intersection of Immigration Policy and Compassion
US Immigration Policy in modern America is an embarrassment, compounded by many politicians
apathetic and sometimes avaricious stance regarding these human transplants. For example, The
Immigration Act of 1990 requires that those seeking Diversity Immigrant Visas obtain a high school
diploma and have two years work experience, as well as two years job training before applicants can
be considered to receive said Visa. In countries with destitute economies and little access to education
for the masses, what chance do ordinary citizens have of meeting these criteria? These prerequisites
share parallels with Jim Crow Laws of the 20th century such as a literacy tests and poll taxes, which
not only disenfranchised blacks but also poor whites. If we only allow the educated and previously
employed a foot through the door, we are doing a disservice to those not afforded the same
opportunities and stealing from them the possibility of a new life in the land of opportunity. I ... Show

A Ph.D. Postulates that Today we ask too little of too many of our immigrants. We apparently don t
care whether they come legally or learn English or how they fare when they re not at work (Hanson).
This is an attitude many Americans have adopted as more Mexican immigrants flood into our country.
As the best friend of a Mexican woman who recently obtained citizenship, I must vehemently
disagree. The exorbitant fees paid, unadulterated racism and hate speech directed at her and her child,
fears of paralleled corruption between the US and Mexican government at the law enforcement and
judicial level pertaining to womens rights, and poverty are all extremely high fees to be asked of any
person. Basic human dignity is something that all people

Benefits And Benefits Of Employee Theft Essay
Even though there are considerable advantages to being able to trust employees in the work place, the
possibility of employee theft is high and there is a price to pay if you know someone that is stealing.
Employees who steal normally don t fit the profile of a criminal. I worked in a small local business for
fifteen years and was faced with the dilemma of thinking a trusted employee who was my friend and
confidant was in fact a thief. It was a normal workday. I went in at 5:00 am, went through my morning
routine and opened up at 6:00 am. One of the responsibilities .of an opening supervisor is to count the
money from the day before and make a deposit to take to the bank. I did this routine every weekend,
but on this day something was off. I do not know the exact way they would know if money was
missing but the day before I cashed a check for our manager Tony* that was not in the bag to count
towards a deposit. I remember this because it was for $ 300.00 and we had just been paid that Friday. I
thought maybe the check was in the other deposit bag but there was nothing there. I didn t want to
jump to conclusions so I kept it to myself. A few weeks went by, Tony had a family emergency and I
had to open that morning. I had worked the previous day and cashed another check for Tony in the
amount of $200.00. The check was in the money bag and I put it in the deposit for the next day. I
worked the night shift the next day and decided to check the invoice to see if the check

Influence on College, Study Abroad Programs
Introduction This nonexperimental study is examining the influence on college, study abroad
programs and the influence on environmental citizenship, (Tarrant Lyons, 2012, p. 201) in
undergraduate college students. The literature review provided adequate background and previous
studies to support the purpose of this study. The literature review does lead to the clearly stated
research purpose of exploring the effect of previous study abroad experience, gender, and destination
on pre and post levels of environmental citizenship, before and after participation in a short
term...travel program to Australia or New Zealand (Tarrant Lyons, p. 408). There were no research
questions or hypotheses explicitly stated but can be easily inferred ... Show more content on

In regards to selection threat, there was no random selection or random assignment. Students chose to
travel and chose their destination. There is also a threat to instrumentation, as two different surveys
were used to measure student perceptions. A final threat to internal validity may be in the area of
history. Students may have different experiences during their one month abroad. Threats to validity
were minimal in regards to attrition (no indication students dropped out; but even so there was a large
number of students included in the survey), statistical regression (students not grouped by extremes or
specific characteristics), or maturation (participants to be perceived as having same physical and
mental development). Extraneous variables such as socioeconomic status, perceived study abroad
experience, previous travel experience, attitudes towards surveys, and experience with topics of
sustainability were not controlled by the researchers. There is no indication that study participants
were treated unethically.
Results
There appears to be appropriate use and calculation of t tests in areas of study abroad experience,
program destination, and gender. There was no calculation of effect sizes. The results were presented
clearly. There was no data ignored in the areas the researchers identified at the onset of the study. This
nonexperimental study with nonrandom selection is not generalizable.

Each sample must consist of approximately 100 200 hairs and be about 2 3 in length (or about 1/2 the
amount of hair in one of the swatches on a color ring).
NOTE: Do not cover your hair samples with tape. Even clear tape will alter true light reflection and
throw off color accuracy. Also, random clipings won t work! Light reflects differently on tiny
clippings so the color can appear different.
Option #2:
Use a Color Ring to Choose Your Color
Taking a razor to your hair not appealing to you? Our ring of natural hair contains 100 to 150 pre

Persuasive Essay On Gmo-Free Foods
My husband and I live on a fixed income. He s retired and I work as a nanny. As the price of food
continues to rise we ve had to cut back on how much meat we buy, because the prices are so
outrageous. Food companies keep making the packages smaller and jacking up the prices. Our money
doesn t go as far as it used to, and if the utilities or other expenses go up, then it s less money for our
food budget. We also have medical and prescription costs that make up a big portion of our monthly
budget that we have to consider before purchasing food. Please support H.R. 1599, the Safe and
Accurate Food Labeling Act of 2015, and help keep food costs down by allowing the FDA to regulate
GMO free foods.
I m equally concerned about the price and quality of the food I buy for us to eat. Recently, several
states have started enacting their own laws concerning GMO free foods. Why does this concern me?
Because the states aren t equipped to handle the task and they aren t going to be willing to work
together on this very important issue. If their regulations aren t working effectively, it has an impact
on more than just their state. Several different agencies in all 50 states we ll be in charge. When a
breakdown in the system happens it will be a nightmare to try to figure out who s responsible. The
time and money it will take to figure out what s happened means costlier, less reliable food is out on

A Case For A Partnership Agreement
10. Kathleen and Jim are business partners at a consulting firm. Upon Jim s sudden death, his widow
claims that she is entitled to a share of the firm s assets or should be able to take his Jims place as
Kathleen s partner. Is she entitled to her claims? Why or why not?
The outcome of this case depends on whether or not a partnership agreement was formed prior to the
partner s death. If the partnership agreement wasn t formed, general partnership State statues will take
default (Clarkson, 2015, p. 721). However, a partnership agreement will always override state laws. If
the provisions allow the partnership to continue after a partner s death, the wife will be entitled to her
husband s shares and if the provisions don t state otherwise she will also be able to take over his place
in the firm (Wright, 2016). If a partnership agreement does not exist, most states will require a
partnership to dissolve after a partner s death. The deceased partner s shares will be used to pay off
any debts or obligations and the remainder funds will be distributed to the surviving partners (Wright,
2016). If the deceased partner includes his wife in his will, then a portion of the funds will be
distributed to his wife after the dissolution. If his will is in probate, the funds will be distributed to his
estate (Wright, 2016). A major disadvantage of not having a partnership agreement, is the risk of the
spouse demanding her inheritance immediately (Wright, 2016). Since the partner s capital is

African Colonialism During Post Colonial Colonialism
It is evident that European colonialism had deeply affected the political system within post colonial
Africa. One of the main leading legacies of colonialism that hindered the development of post colonial
African states would be the ethnic division and the state conflicts resulting from ethnic rivalry after
independence . Scholars would argue the weakness within African politics would be due to creation of
forty new states brought about by the European colonial powers in the Berlin Conference of 1884 to
1885; which had artificial state borders within the continent having little to none parallelism to reality.
For example, Nigeria is clearly demonstrates that the legacy of the state boundaries that had created
new political entities carried. Moreover, with the colonies compromising of many different religions,
ethnic groups and languages, there were cultural differences that had created ethnic divisions and
rivalries which had been intensified after independence in post colonial Africa. After Nigeria had
become independent in 1960, the military took over and the economic situation worsened, this had led
to rising conflicts between the two main ethnic groups, the Hausa and the Igbo, as to who should have
power in the new country . This was because Nigeria was a new political entity as it was a product of
colonialism and being a new political entity, it had no previous experiences beyond the control of the
colonial powers. This clearly demonstrates the effects of ethnic

Digital Film And Digital Technologies Essay
Regarding my photographic process I am somewhat bilingual, making use of both analog film and
digital technologies. I primarily shoot large format sheet film with a view camera because of the
amount of control the camera provides and the rich, descriptive negative that the process yields. The
image is output in the form of archival pigment prints which are then sprayed with a clear coat that
enhances the blacks of the print. The prints are produced using a drum scanner and large format
printers which provide a high degree of control, sharpness, and description that is imperative to my
work and not possible in the dark room. The photographs presented in my thesis exhibition reflect
semantic, semiotic, and philosophical interests. They also describe formal concerns contrasting
surfaces and architectural anomalies may create a kind of perceptual discrepancy upon first glance.
The pictures, however, are decidedly un mediated descriptions of real world phenomena. In this way,
the photographs demonstrate an interest in the ready made and my on going commitment to making
work in and of the world. In the removed sign works, I photographed residual adhesive attached to
walls after signs have been removed. Confined by the rectangle of the photographic frame or the sign
s outline the adhesive remnant, stripped of it s utility, may emerge as a kind of ready made painting. In
lieu of the expected directives on the surface of these deteriorating walls are accumulated,

‘Conservatism Merely Reflects the Interests of the...
Conservatism merely reflects the interests of the privileged and prosperous. Discuss (45)
This statement is asking whether all forms of conservatism s values and actions in the past are because
they wish to reflect the interests of those in society who are better off, sacrificing the interests of the
less well off in doing so. The current debate is very unclear as opinion on this does, and always has
varied greatly. Generally, left wing labour supporters believe this statement is true whereas the rest of
society do not agree. Conservatives have strenuously denied this claim over the years. This essay will

Their belief in tradition is also because they believe that it prevents chaos and oppression, which is
created by revolution and reform as it moves people further and further apart.
However, Conservatism does merely reflect the interests of the privileged and prosperous, because
tradition and authority in themselves harm the less privileged, and because the belief in these values is
only because it prevents uprising, which would inevitably harm the privileged and prosperous. Burke s
belief that there is a natural hierarchy in society because people will work harder than others rather
than because of birth, education or special privilege is a false claim at suggesting that everyone has
equal chances. This is because this idea claims that birth, education and special privilege have no
impact on where you lie in society. This is not true as people with more opportunities at work; a better
education and special privilege inevitably give you a lot more opportunities to be higher up in the
hierarchical system. Also, the main reason for Conservatives belief in Authority is that it allows people
to know their roles in society, which inevitably prevents the less privileged from realising that they are
being unfairly treated within society.
De Maistre, a critic of the French Revolution, argued that revolution and reform would weaken the

The Pros And Reputations Of The Dalai Lama
Someone s reputation often depends on his work, behavior, and achievements. Reputation is the
opinion or beliefs that people generally have about a person based on his past. Some people see the
Dalai Lama as an evil person and the others see him as a kind and peaceful person. He has a good
reputation in the West. However, Chinese people hate him and accuse him of hypocrisy. So the Dalai
Lama has two different reputations.
The Dalai Lama is the Tibetans political and spiritual leader. He is the most important leader in Tibet.
The Dalai Lama is a monk of the Tibetan Buddhism. The 14th and current Dalai Lama is Tenzin

Geography Is Destiny Dbq
There is a saying that Geography is destiny . For early civilizations, geography was an obstacle when
it came to survival. As people settled in permanent locations, they relied on the local geographical
features to sustain themselves. As people relied on geography, it helped shape the development of
early civilizations, such as to provide many natural barriers, trade routes, and fertile land. China, for
example, was able to develop and prosper due to its natural barriers. Based on document six, China is
surrounded by the Pacific Ocean (to the west), the Himalayan Mountains (to the southwest), and the
Gobi Desert (up north). These natural barriers helped stop foreigners from invading China, thus

Electronic Supervision
Nowadays, there is no more need to speak with a low voice when doing a private call in order to avoid
your colleagues from hearing what you say, as anyway, your telephone conversation could be
recorded. It is really easy, as well, for a company to be able to see where you are in the company and
when, using electronic bagging systems each time you enter an office or a new part of the building or
even simpler, using video recordings. Your computer files are never 100% safe if they are saved on a

But if this way of communicating is making our life easier, not having to send letter or faxes each

sent via its server. If a password allow a limited access to your email box on your PC, the message
content itself is stored on the company server and is easily accessible there. And that s the same for
email being received.
It is, as well, really simple for a firm to check your internet surfing provided your company has a
firewall and a checking access tool (which is the case for 95% of companies). Your employer is able to
check what site you visited, how much time you spent on those or even what you bought . It is not
really complicated, don t you think ?
But what are the firm s main reasons for such a supervision of emails and internet ? In fact, main
concerns are the following :
access to pornographic material
time spent without working
sexual harasment
viruses risks
transfer of confidential information.
Those concerns are partly justified, because an employee s defective attitude with respect to the above
mentioned, could lead to a legal liability for the company.

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Ultrasound
Ever since the beginning of medicine, diagnostic procedures were mainly invasive, meaning that the
patient was cut open, resulting in an excruciating amount of pain for the diagnosis of some simple
conditions, such as pneumothorax and appendicitis. This practice was usual for centuries up until the
early 20th century where the use of waves, electromagnetic or not, in medicine began.
One type of the waves used was the ultrasound wave. The ultrasound waves, are sound waves with a
frequency higher than that of the audible human hearing range (Rouse, What Is Ultrasound?
Definition from WhatIs.com ). The idea of first applying the ultrasound for medical diagnostic
purposes accord simultaneously in more than one country in the world, however the best documented

cartoons, or movies to influence us starting at a very young age. It was no different for myself as I was
growing up as many pieces of art contributed to how I thought about things; none more so than the
Transformers Universe. Since my mother was a teacher at a school in Anchorage, I grew up spending
more time with my father and his influence of entertainment up until I was six years old. At the age of
four, I walked into the family entertainment room and there my dad was watching the original
Transformers cartoon released in 1984. When my dad saw me, he pulled me into his lap and we
watched it together. I fell in love with the fun loving, but powerful robots running across the screen.
My father and I bonded over the intricate storyline, hilarious moments, and later the deep discussions
we had regarding the show. Ever since that day, Transformers has always had a special place in my
heart and mind. Around fourth grade, I started watching different series of Transformers as well as the
original cartoon. I began learning the hidden morals taught in each of the different series. In the
original Transformers, the two part episode Dinobot Island , Grimlock and the other dinobots could
not control their abilities in the Autobot base, so they were flown to an island to learn to control
themselves; however, the Decepticons attacked the very island for its energy, but the

The Impact Of Multifamily Residential On Real Estate Market
Multifamily residential is a sector in real estate market. It is a type of housing where multiple separate
housing units for residential inhabitants are contained within one building or several buildings within
one complex (Resource: Appendix 26). The classifications of multifamily housing are various.
According to the methods of classifying online (Resource: Appendix 27), the multifamily are divided
into duplex or semi detached (in some cities, it is called two flat), three flat, four flat, townhouse,
apartment building, mixed use building, and apartment community. Although multifamily targets for
the number of householders are over one, each sub segment of multifamily has different targets and
focuses. Based on the variety of geology, demography, climate, hydrology, culture, history, and other
factors, each sub segment fits in different lands or cities. For example, duplex is common in
Milwaukee (Resource: Appendix 28), because duplex is popular in Poland, and Polish immigrants
built those houses to live in. In Chicago (Resource: Appendix 29), duplex is an old signature of
American workplaces and living houses, and they are reserved in Chicago to satisfy the needs of
residents there.
A duplex house is a dwelling having apartments with separate entrances for two households. This
includes two story houses having a complete apartment on each floor and also side by side apartments
on a single lot that share a common wall. By contrast, a building comprising two attached

Irony in Jonathan Swift s A Modest Proposal
Rhetorical strategies are techniques, which are used to make one s writings more effective. The choice
of rhetoric strategy depends on the type of subject being discussed. The effectiveness of appropriate
strategy is directly related to the mood, which is to be created and maintained. For example if
someone is criticizing the government, the tome is usually kept serious and Irony and satire are widely
used in such writings. On the other hand while describing the recent developments in genetic
engineering, the tone would be objective and humor or satire would be ineffective here.
Jonathan Swift was famous for his sarcastic remarks on the government of his days and his works are
full of satire and irony which appear to be humorous but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But I am not in the least pain upon that matter, because it is very well known that they are every day
dying and rotting by cold and famine, and filth and vermin, as fast as can be reasonably expected.
Swift was not the only one who applied the technique of irony to convey his message more effectively,
there were several other people who from time to time have made use of satire with irony to comment
on or oppose to certain views and ideas. Martin Luther King Jr. was the champion of human rights
who spoke extensively for the rights of African Americans. He became an icon for the black
community because of his highly emotional speeches and his writings, which focused on the subject
of equal rights for black men and women in the United States.
His Letters from the Birmingham jail are valued for their emotional content and their comments on his
own activities. These letters cannot exactly be termed satirical or ironical in tone. In fact compared to
Swift s works, King s letters would probably appear polite. But there are certain portions where he has
used irony very effectively for example in his response to clergymen who had criticized King s
activities, he said in his letter, While confined here in the Birmingham city jail, I came across your
recent statement calling my present activities unwise and untimely. Seldom do I

Data Collection Method Participant Observation Essay
Data collection method participant observation
Introduction and Meaning of Observation
The most common method used for getting information about the various things around us, is to
observe those things and also the various processes related to those things. Hence, it can be said that
observation acts as an important, fundamental and the basic method of getting information about
anything. But it must be kept in mind that observation is not just seeing things but it is carefully
watching the things and trying to understand them in depth, in order to get some information about
them related to what it is intended to. Observations sometimes act scientifically, when used by the
researchers in various research works but it should be noted that all observations are not scientific in
nature. Scientists and nonscientists both rely on observation to learn behavior. The difference between
the scientific and nonscientific observation is the manner in which the observations are made. Non
scientists don t usually keep formal records of the things they have observed so they consequently
depend on the memory for the information of that event. But unfortunately what one remembers about
an event is not likely to be a literal record of what one experienced and hence memory can be affected
by the information later added about the event experience (Bartlett, 1932; Loftus, 1997a, 1997b;
Pezdeick, Finger, Hodge, 1997) whereas scientific observation on the other hand is made under

A Study For Public Key Digital Signature Schemes
Abstract: In this proposed paper a study for public key digital signature schemes that based on
different mathematical NP hard problems. That problems influence in performance and reliability of
digital signature schemes. In this paper we make a survey on mathematical NP hard problems of
digital signature schemes and present the powerful and practical of some schemes depending on its
security level.
Introduction:
Digital signature is a verification mechanism based on the public key scheme, and it provides:
Data integrity (the assurance that data has not been changed by an unauthorized party).
Authentication (the assurance that the source of data is as claimed).
Non repudiation (the assurance that an entity cannot deny commitments). Generally, every public key
digital signature schemes is based on a mathematical problem. This problem is known as NP (Non
deterministic polynomial) hard problem. The problem is considered to be an NP hard mathematical
problem if the validity of a proposed solution can be checked only in polynomial time. Basically,
public key digital signature schemes are successfully classified into many major types depending on
the NP mathematical hard problem. These problems are the integer factorization problem (IFP), the
discrete logarithm problem (DLP), the Elliptic Curve discrete logarithm problem (ECDLP), the
chaotic maps hard problem In the present e commerce and e government era, digital signatures have
become more and more important

Richard Graff s Hidden Intellectualism, By Gerald Graff
Contained within Gerald Graff s, Hidden Intellectualism, are several eye opening ideas. Graff main
point in his essay, is that non intellectual topics can be written or talked about in an academic way.
Graff uses his past stating that he has street smarts, and that it was a form knowledge. In a way, he
negatively scrutinizes the public education for overlooking the intellect of those who aren t skilled
academically. One thing that I believe is very fundamental is that he says, They would be more prone
to take on intellectual identities if we encouraged them to do so at first on subjects that interest them
rather than ones that interest us. He puts it plain and simple that you can take street topics and make
them into intellectual debates. Sport uniforms created by Nike are feats of technology, football
uniforms on the collegiate have reinvented the game. Graff stats, Sports after all was full of
challenging arguments, debates, problems for analysis. For example, some teams wear different
uniforms every week, how does this impact the way athletes perform. Sometimes the colors or style
someone makes their mental game change. This is a topic that can lead to heated debates and scientific
analysis. One collegiate football team that changes uniforms almost every week is the The Oregon
Ducks. They are always integrating the newest and best technology, which is designed by Nike to help
their players perform better. Oregon is somewhat privileged, because the co founder of

Running through branches and high standing grass, I sprint as fast as my body will move. Insure about
how much energy my body has left, I keep pacing a constant speed to catch up to Lennie. As the forest
begins to come to an end, there is a lengthy creek that comes to view. Hesitating, I plunge into the
water trying to find my dear friend Lennie. Just as I think there is no hope on finding him I see a
movement out of the corner of my eye. Thinking it was just an animal, I turn away not even realizing
that the animal was Lennie. Lennie, terror stricken and drizzling, is standing right in front of me. I try
to dash toward him, but since my legs are in the water they don t seem to move quickly. Not even
bothered about how slowly my feet are moving I still leap toward him in excitement. Since we were
hugging I didn t even realize that the neighing and running footsteps of the men s horse were drawing
closer to us. Lennie, we have to get outta here. There is nothing round here that is gonna keep us safe.

Sin In Puritan Society
Puritan Society and Views on Sin in The Scarlet Letter Hester Prynne was seen as the embodiment of
sin by the people of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. Her act of adultery seemed to be the highest crime
of all, and she was punished daily for it. As if it was not enough to be sentenced to a full day of
constant humiliation in the presence of every citizen of the colony, they assured that she would live
through it again daily by attaching a scarlet letter A, representing the adulteress she was, to her chest.
Though Hester Prynne suffered greatly for her sin, her punishment and the actions she took afterward
reflected the beliefs, particularly surrounding sin, and ethics that were hidden in the Puritan society in
which she lived. We are shown ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because of Hester s incrimination and her treatment, we can see the morals of the colony. When we
see the women waiting for Hester outside the prison, they gather in a group and think up horrible and
cruel punishments for Hester s sin saying, they should have put the brand of a hot iron or her forehead
(Hawthorne 30). They remark that the letter was stitched well but it is meant to laugh in the faces of
the noblemen (Hawthorne 32). Their view on the letter and rejection of Hester based on it is ironic
when she was later requested to make clothes for many in the town, including these women
(Hawthorne 47 137). The clothing Hester stitched was elaborate, much like the letter, and their
willingness to wear it shows that there is sin in everyone, and the Puritans way of dealing with theirs
was to demonize Hester in order to feel as if they were holy (Hawthorne 47). We also notice that in
some minds, there is no way to recover from sin. Hester goes out of her way to provide care to those
around her by nursing them when they were sick, but was sometimes met with a gibe in requital of
food brought regularly to his door, (Hawthorne 90). One might think that Hester has escaped the
shame of the letter when it takes on the meaning Able, reflecting her good deeds (Hawthorne 91).

Personal Eflection With The Reflective Best Self
Introduction Do you want to know who you are? Don t ask. Act! Action will delineate and define you.
This quote was spoken by the second president of the united states and revered Patriot leader, Thomas
Jefferson. Jefferson is trying to express how a person s true character and personality is expressed
through their actions and how they live their lives, so if someone wants to truly know who they are
inside, the best indications comes from their actions and how they impacted others. One excellent way
to reflect upon one s inner self is with the Reflected Best Self Exerciseâ„¢ (RBSEâ„¢) developed by the
University of Michigan. This exercise utilizes stories collected from people in one s life to help them
understand who they are and what they are like when they are at their very best. This exercise helps to
highlight a person s strength and to distill confidence into their character. It helps a person to explore
who they genuinely are and to be able to know their own personality a little bit better. This is
especially crucial in the business world where knowing oneself, your strengths and limitations, is
crucial in becoming an effective leader. With the help of this exercise, a person can become more
confident in their leadership style, more certain in their decisions, and better able to fall back on their
strengths when life become difficult. It is with these basic assumptions and goals that I will immerse
myself in this exercise with. I will search to gain valuable insight of who I truly am. I will define my
strength, my enabler, and my blockers. I will use all the data available to create a best self portrait and
to identify key trends in my personality and characteristics. My importantly, I will delve into the roots
of my behaviors and actions to learn who I am as a leader, as a worker, as a sibling, as a son, as a
friend, and as a person in general. With all this insight combined I will be able to effectively orient
myself towards the future and be the type of leader and man that I dream of being, with the help of my
strengths.
Initial Perspective on My Strengths In the past few years, I have often thought that I have learned a

A New Perception of Eliza Essay
A New Perception of Eliza
From times to times, back in the old days, women were seen as powerless and non respected figures in
the society where authorities and prestige were dominated by men. Glimpses of gender inequality
during the early 20th century in London were introduced through Pygmalion by George Bernard
Shaw. The story revolves around Henry Higgins, a renowned professor of phonetics, who makes a bet
with his friend, Colonel Pickering, that he can successfully transform Eliza Doolittle into a refined
lady by teaching her etiquettes, and impeccable speech. In the book Pygmalion, the author well
portrays a smart, strong and independent, quite feisty young British woman through Eliza, a Cockney
flower girl.

Eliza fetching Higgins s slippers when she can enjoy a much better one.
Further in the book, it s shown that Eliza Doolittle is certainly not someone to be ignored. When
Higgins and Pickering seem to be carried away from their small experiment , Eliza doesn t stand there
and does nothing, she voices her thoughts. Well, here I am ready to pay him not asking any favor and
he treats me as if I was dirt. (2.34) . She maybe uneducated ,but compared to others, Eliza is a smart
lady who refuses to let other stumble over her. Certainly, Eliza won t back down as her feeling of self

the story, a bitter argument is seen between the two, Eliza and Higgins. As a result, with her extremely
strong characters and ideologies, Eliza leaves Higgins for good along with her self respect and dignity.

The Bracero Program was a temporary contract labor program initiated in 1942 by the United States
and Mexico. Designed originally to bring a experienced Mexican agricultural laborers to harvest sugar
beets in Stockton, California, but soon spread to most of the United States and to the railroad industry.
Although the railroad program ended in 1945, after World War II the agricultural program continued
until 1964. Originally, the program was designed to protect the illegal migrant workers against the
exploitation by American farmers. However, it was criticized and was viewed as a failure from the

The United States wielded the power of negotiations with both the Mexican government and the
Mexican people. Mexico lost all real bargaining power in the 1950 s. Along with opposition from
Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta, the United States determined that the program was no longer vital
to the American s; it discontinued the program in 1964. Chavez and Huerta fought the program
because it undermined American workers and exploited the migrant workers. Nothing says it more
obvious than the account from Walt Edwards (as cited in Dillin, 2006), When we caught illegal aliens
on farms and ranches, the farmer or rancher would often call and complain [to officials in El Paso].
And depending on how politically connected they were, there would be political intervention. That is
how we got into this mess we are in now. (Dillin, John, 2006) By the end of the program, farm labor
unions began to form which eventually led to the abolishment of laws stating it was illegal to organize
farm labor. This lead the way to the grape strikes in California and the boycotts in stores, lead by
Filipino farm workers. After the first strike several various organizations began to form and led similar
movements around the country. Through the 1960s to the 1980s, Cesar Chavez was a major
inspiration to such movements and organizations. One of the most notable protests was when Chavez

Scooter was the first pet of my very own besides having a few pet fish. I remember walking into the

brown ones took my interest. I had a perfect fantasy planned out, the golden brown rabbit with floppy
ears will be mine and I ll name her Bunbun. This was in my mind the vision of a perfect little bunny.
After relentless bagging and a few tears, my parents agreed to let me have a bunny. To this day, I still

towards the cage. There was a single brown bunny left. My mom went up to the clerk and asked to put
a hold on the last brown bunny. We had to get all the supplies and a cage before we could just bring
her home. After buying everything that was necessary and more, we returned to the pet store. I
remember clearly how much the bunny cost, only $35 dollars. The clerk walked to the cage with a

Richard IIi, By William Shakespeare
Children bring out the underlying disposition and wicked intentions we all possess. Richard III, by
William Shakespeare, is a tragic play about the Duke of Gloucester who desires to be the king of
England. He does this through the manipulation and murder of many characters, including Queen
Elizabeth s children, Prince Edward and the Duke of York. These children emphasize some of the
adult themes in the play and reveals the devastating nature of these themes. Their characteristics and
deaths all contribute to the emphasis of these themes. Critics Marie Hélène Bisnaught and Michel
Bito, and Vincent Walsh all agree that the murder of Prince Edward and the Duke of York was an
atrocious deed.
Prince Edward and the Duke of York are innocent, precious, and witty. These traits the children
acquire truly highlights the extent of their deaths. Both these children are well beyond their years. This
clear when the Duke of York says I could have given my uncle s grace a flout, / To touch his growth
nearer than he d touched mine (Act II, Scene IV, Line 24 25). The young duke cleverly insults his
uncle s height and manners essentially saying that Richard is a short, disrespected man. The children s
innocence is also evident through the perspective of their mother and uncle. In the scene when Richard
III greets his nephew, Prince Edward, he says Sweet prince, the untainted virtue of your years / Hath
not yet dived into the world s deceit (Act III, Scene I, Line 7 8). Prince

The Endangered Species Preservation Act of 1966 authorized the Secretary of Interior to spend $15
million per year to purchase habitats for the species on the endangered list. This act also required
protection of these species on federal land. All land belonging to the public that was not government
was not required but were encouraged to. Many benefits have come from these law acts that have been
set in place. Recovery plans have been put into place to help our animals and plants replenish. While
doing this, exemptions can and do occur. If there is a project to be done within a habitat of a listed
species, then the ESA must notify the FWS and National Marine Fisheries Service. Once listed species
reached a level of stable existence again, they were delisted. As of 2011, fifty one species had been
delisted. Any kind of harming, wounding, or killing is considered to be a violation. Violations of these
laws have a variety of penalties. The maximum fine is up to $50,000 or a year of imprisonment,
possibly both. I do absolutely believe this law has improved our societies and environments due to
helping original life to be sustained. These animals and plants were created to be on this earth. They
did not choose to be here and did not choose to be killed for human pleasure. This law has given these

An Argument Against Involuntary Hospitalization
What is a mental illness? Mental illnesses are disturbed thoughts, feelings, and moods that affect
people s daily functioning. Being hospitalized for having a mental illness is categorized as voluntary
or involuntary where voluntary hospitalization is agreeing to be admitted to the hospital for treatment;
while involuntary hospitalization is against a person s will when he or she is harmful to him or her self
or others (NAMI). The issue with involuntary hospitalization is that is it permissible to admit someone
to the hospital against his or her will. For instance, in a suicide case, those who agree to involuntary

In order for an action to be right in act utilitarianism, one must maximize the pleasures and pain as
well as happiness of self and others. While in rule utilitarianism, an act is right if and only if it
conforms to a set of rules and everyone would maximize the overall utility.
In the case of a patient who is mentally ill, rule utilitarianism best describe why hospitalizing the
patient against his or her will should be allowed. Before admitting the patient, he or she must meet a
set of criteria that the state created. For California, some criteria include refusal of receiving treatment
when advised by the doctor, ideations of harming self or others and being mentally incompetent
(Involuntary). Through observations from personal clinical experiences, many patients who were
admitted fitted these criteria as some are harm risk, while others were mentally incompetent.
In addition, everyone would maximize the overall utility as it allows mentally ill patients to get the
treatment they need to live as well as prevent harm to themselves and others as this creates maximum
utility for everyone. If calculated, there would be more pleasures of feeling better and safe than pain of
possible restrains or taking medications. For instance, for a suicidal patient, he or she

The receiver simultaneously measures the distance to a second satellite and creates a similar sphere for
the second satellite. The area where the two spheres intersect narrows the possible location of the
receiver to a circular area. Finally, the receiver measures the distance to a third satellite and cross
references third sphere with the first two spheres. The intersection of the third sphere with the first two
spheres then narrows the possible location of the receiver to two points. In order to locate the exact
position of the receiver on earth, the system employs one of two methods. The first method is for the
system to take a measurement to a fourth satellite, which is often done for other reasons described
later. The alternate method is to mathematically throw out one of the answers, which can often be
done since one point is located in space or is not otherwise plausible.
The question that naturally follows is how a receiver is able to make a distance measurement from its
position on earth to the satellites orbiting the earth. The basic physics theory used to determine
distance is the speed of the signal multiplied by the time it took to travel from the satellite to the
receiver. Since radio waves are used to communicate between the satellite and the receiver, the speed
of the transmission is known to be the speed of light or 186,000 miles per second. However, the
determination of time is trickier since the time traveled is short, usually on the order

which is slower than average (BLS). This could be due to the fact that the economy is changing, and
the fact that we are using more machines to build things for us, rather than people. Also, electronics
engineering technicians can expect to earn a middle class income, especially after they have a few
years of experience. Most electrical and electronics engineering technicians earned between $35,880

Julius Caesar Evil
Shakespeare s tragedy Julius Caesar takes place in Rome at the time of Caesar s assassination. After
Caesar returns home, he is hailed as a war hero, and the citizens of Rome plan to crown him as their
ruler. Cassius, knowing Caesar will soon become a tyrant, convinces the honorable and well respected
Brutus, a good friend of Caesar, to murder him for the good of the city. Although many consider Julius
Caesar the hero of the play, Brutus is the true Shakespearean tragic hero. This is proven first by his
inherently honorable character. Furthermore, Brutus s loyalty, which in most cases is considered a
virtue, becomes a sin within the context of the story. Lastly, Brutus becomes blind to reality, believing
the murder of Caesar is a good and necessary act.
First and foremost, Brutus is proven to be a tragic hero by his good character. Brutus, unlike Caesar, is
a humble man, known in the town to be loyal and put others before himself. For example, while
Cassius attempts to rile Brutus up over Caesar s newfound fame, he argues the point that Brutus has an
inherent right to the throne. Brutus responds to this by saying that [he] had rather be a villager / Than
to repute himself a son of Rome (Shakespeare 1.2.180 181). While Caesar is so intoxicated by the
attention and fame he receives that he agrees to rule without any critical thinking, Brutus, not blinded
by greed or pride, is able to clearly see that taking on this power would not be wise. Very few would
be able to resist this opportunity to be at the center of all this praise, but Brutus is both humble and
wise enough to turn down what should be his role because he realizes the ability to be worshipped is
not enough to make a leader. Although literary critic Harold Bloom argues that Brutus is ... morally
rather vain ... [and] powerfully self centered (1 2), it is proven throughout the novel that Brutus has
practically no ego and puts the needs of the Romans before his own. Brutus is modest, intelligent, and
at his center, a good person.
Another characteristic of Brutus that defines him as a tragic hero is his virtue of loyalty to Rome used
as a sin. The night before Caesar s downfall, Brutus receives an abundance of letters, declaring Caesar
unfit to be

Essay about Sculptures in James Baldwin s If Beale Street...
In Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave, Written by Himself, Douglass
describes his overseer as a man of the most inflexible firmness and stone like coolness (Andrews 181).
He adds that his mistress s tender heart became stone (Andrews 188). When he first tries to free
himself from such people, Douglass ends up all alone, within the walls of a stone prison (Andrews
208). Throughout these references, the image of stone is repeatedly linked with the stonehearted and
dramatic Caucasian oppression of African Americans. James Baldwin also includes images of stone
and wood in his novel, If Beale Street Could Talk. Stone and wood are often mentioned together and
are used for a joint purpose as Fonny, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

of justice ( Rape, def. 3). Although Fonny defends Tish from an attacker at a vegetable stand, Officer
Bell says, We re going to take you down, boy, for assault and battery (Baldwin 149). This is improper
treatment because the officer tries to arrest Fonny despite Tish s defense of his actions, and he
repeatedly refers to Fonny as boy even after Tish points out that [h]e s not a boy (Baldwin 149). When
the white Italian woman, who owns the vegetable stand, also defends Fonny s actions, the officer
decides not to arrest him; however, as a result of the officer s metaphorical rape and taunting parting
remarks, Fonny experiences a metaphorical stone imprisonment. [W]ith a dreadful quietness he tells
Tish, Don t ever try to protect me again (Baldwin 151). His defenses are up, and he presents a stony
exterior to his girlfriend; he makes her cry although he s tormented and he knows, hadn t been for
[her], [his] brains might be spattered all over that precinct basement (Baldwin 153). He makes it very
clear that it s his role to protect her, but it s not her role to protect him; likewise, it s not her role to
protect the sculpture that is the metaphorical representation of him.

Social Norms And Deviance In Football
Deviance as a word refers to any behavior regarded as odd or unacceptable. However, from a
sociological point of view, deviance refers to any action or behavior that runs contrary to social norms
(Macionis and Gerber 200). This includes crimes, which are violations of formally enacted rules, as
well as violation of the socially accepted norms. Norms refer to the rules as well as the expectations
that guide the conventional behavior of human beings (Macionis and Gerber 204). Thus, deviant acts
arise from non conformance with these norms. Deviance is relative, to both the time and the place.
This is because an act that may appear deviant in a particular context may not be deviant in another.
For example, fighting at school is a deviant behavior, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Female respondents particularly had a negative view about playing football publicly as opposed to
male respondents. A number, 4, representing 100% of the female respondents, disliked football as a
sport in general, viewing it as dirty and violent. The male respondents on the other hand were more
flexible on this, with 66.6% of the male respondents opposed to playing publicly. This was significant
since these numbers included even the people who would play themselves. Male respondents are thus
more likely to be tolerant of players than females are. Question 3 Is playing football publicly a form of
deviance? 8 of the respondents felt that playing football publicly was an act of deviance. This
represented 80% of the total number of respondents. These respondents indicated that they associated
playing football publicly with deviant behavior. In the opinion of these respondents, playing football
publicly is a hazard. Thus, they expressed an opinion that it should be stopped. The respondents also
majorly believed that there might be a ban on playing football in public places. Some of the places that
were mentioned were hotels and universities, as well as restaurants and coffee

Beowulf The Behavior Of The Masses
Beowulf the Savior of the Masses
People have finally came to a conclusion that Beowulf is an allegory. An allegory is a story with a
subliminal meaning. The allegory behind Beowulf is a story of salvation. It is the changing of pagan
gods to the christian faith. Thus we must assume every battle is a battle for religion.
Beowulf starts out with a monster named Grendel seeking revenge. Grendel is furious over Cain s
banishment from God. Summary(ch 1). He is looking for revenge, he will settle on the Spear Danes.
He raids the great hall and kills tons of men.(ch 2). He will continue these assaults day and night. The
mighty king Hrothgar can do nothing about these attacks. He sits and watches as his forces are being
decimated by Grendel.Summary(ch ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It states that many invasions have occurred within the region. It states that Beowulf murdered the
Swedish queen.Summary(ch 32). Which suggest the wars that have been fought were very personal
and deadly. Another piece that suggest that is that when Beowulf approached the guard was very
weary.Summary(ch 3).
The culture of the Spear Danes is a vicious one. The challenges they faced every day were brutal.
Constant raids on their towns by men and beasts were constant. Grendel was one of these beasts. He
continuously raided Hrothgar s kingdom until Beowulf killed him.
There are many pagan and religious ties in Beowulf. Firstly we look at examples of christianity inside
of the story. The main example is when they states Grendel is related to Cain from the old testament of
the bible.Summary(ch 1). In terms of Pagan beliefs, the Danes and Anglo Saxons have many gods
they look up to in the story. Summary(ch 41).
This story is one of a great warrior and a kingdom finding salvation in the christian faith at the same
time. When they say that god was on Beowulf s side throughout the epic it suggest their strong
christian beliefs that they adopted. However they ll also reference their old Pagan gods and beliefs,
those dwindle as the story goes on however. Which might suggest their in a transition period while

Essay on the Rental Heart
Most people have tried it before, and those that haven t are either too young to have tried it, or simply
just heartless. It s terrible and beautiful all at the same time, which is probably why it s such a great
topic for stories. However, getting your heart broken at some point in your life is inevitable. For some,
it happens more than once. This is the case for our main character in the short story The Rental Heart ,
by Kirsty Logan.
To begin with, the reader has no clue as to whether the main character is a boy or a girl. In my head
though, I got the image of a girl. The story is about this girl, who gets her heart broken over and over
again, by boys as well as girls (she is bisexual). It s not really a problem for her, because she ... Show

Maybe it s simply a whole different world! She also uses many symbols, especially to express how
love feels to the main character. The heart was dusty and tarnished and utterly empty . This shows the
reader just how heart broken she was. Her heart hasn t felt real love in a long time, so it is dusty. It has
been abused many times, so it is tarnished. And because of all this, it leaves her with nothing more
than an empty space. Maybe the island that she says she went to for a year isn t really an island that
she actually went to either. Maybe she just closed herself down mentally, unable to deal with the world
with a broken heart. That could have felt to other people, as if she was actually away on an island.
What seems to be pulling this story towards science fiction the most however, seems to be the fact that
even though it s all clearly one big metaphor for getting your heart broken and mending it again, it s
nowhere close to how reality is. Heartbreaks come in all shapes and sizes. But in real life you can t
just go well, tough luck, she wasn t the one for me, so I m not going to be sad about it . Healing a
broken heart takes time in the real, non fictional world. Just changing it like it s nothing, that s the real
science fiction in the story.
All in all, we should be glad that we don t have these kinds of rental services available. It would be
way too boring. What makes life exciting is that it s fragile; you never know

The Death Of The Moth Analysis
The Death of the Moth by Virginia Woolf
In the death of the moth, the author Virginia Woolf compares the fear of death to the struggle of life by
observing a little moth as an example of anyone or anything alive striving to survive. She started her
narration by the plural form of the moth moths as a way of describing the whole community that is
committed to the same fate; however, talking about such a small living being means that if a tiny
creature like moths suffers the fear and the struggle of life what would be the reaction of bigger
creatures or even humans. The innate sense of surviving is implanted in every single alive thing. The
author describes the moth and herself as she is distracted by the work done on the field and how it is
hard to keep concentrated on her book as she was captivated and fascinated by the moth s movements
as well as the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even invisible creatures have a life to care about. Woolf sees the real humans life through this small
critter and how they would fight to lasting. The author understands that suffering is part of the process
of life; she doesn t help the moth to right himself because she is aware of the fact of death and she
knows that his death is approaching. Linking this story to her personal life, proves that she is a
conflicted woman who suffered in the past from many painful situations that she overcame by her
innate sense of survival. She is perhaps comparing the moth s attempt to survive to her own. She
knows that death is inescapable in life and that no one ever won the battle of life over death. A
desperate and hopeless tone was maintained throughout the essay where it was perfectly and nicely
developed which makes the reader feels the exact same pity that the author feels for the moth. The
reader s feels emotionally connected to this moth as much as the author is which makes her appeal to
pathos is obvious and effective since the reader visualizes the moth s

Markets, Regulation and Tort law
Markets, regulation and tort law are elective techniques for accomplishing security. Of these the

Fatty Junk Food Tax
Should we put a Tax on Fatty Junk Food and Drinks? Ninety four percent of all Americans eat high
amounts of junk foods and one third of all Americans are considered obese. We can put a stop to this
situation. I think a separate government tax should be placed on fatty junk food and drinks because it
will make less people become obese and make more people want to eat cheaper and healthier things.
First of all, a junk food tax needs to be placed to end the obesity and diabetes epidemic. For example,
too many people are suffering from diabetes, but CEOs of companies like Lay s and Pepsi don t really

Coca Cola wanted to continue its international expansion because it believed that the U.S. market
would eventually reach maturity, and that growth prospects were better overseas. For much of its
initial expansion, Coca Cola followed a localization strategy, allowing each country unit to manage its
own operations. QUESTION 2: Why did Coca Cola change its initial strategy? What strategy did
Coca Cola start to pursue in 2000? What were the benefits of this strategy to Coca Cola? What were
the drawbacks? ANSWER 2: In the 1980s, Coca Cola changed its strategy from a localization
approach where individual country units essentially ran their own operations, to a more centralized
approach where key management and marketing activities took place at the company headquarters in
Atlanta. The company extended this strategy to include foreign bottlers. By taking equity stakes in the
bottlers, Coca Cola was able to exert greater control over them. Coca Cola made the shift to the global
standardization strategy because it believed that by doing so, the company could gain significant
economies of scale. However, by 2000, the company was ready to change its strategy once again.
Coca Cola was losing market share to companies that used a more localized strategy, and under the
guidance of its new CEO, Coca Cola began once again to give local managers more decision making
power. This time however, while giving country managers the autonomy to tailor product

  • 2. Adolf Hitler And The Assassination Contributions Of The... Throughout history there were many plots that took place against Hitler, all of which failed to kill the Dictator of Germany. The most important assassination attempts were known as Operation Spark in 1943, and Operation Valkyrie, or known as the July 20th Plot, which took place in 1944. The importance of these assassination attempts was the people closest to Hitler, who has the realization that the country was going to be destroyed as long as Hitler was in power. However, these assassination attempts ended with Hitler sentencing the conspirers to death by the hundreds, making him more paranoid than ever and forcing him to continue with the losing war effort on the western and eastern fronts. Although the assassination attempts failed, they were able to play their part in helping the allies secure victory over the Nazi Regime. Inevitably, the only man that could end the war, and the only man that could kill Hitler, was Adolf Hitler himself. Perhaps the most well prepared plans of the assassinations of Hitler were due to the work of a high ranking military officer named Henning von Tresckow. When 1941 came around, Henning von Tresckow found himself sick with the actions of the SS and the Gestapo in the areas they were operating. With his military connections, Henning von Tresckow was able to recruit other military officials to join him in the fight to overthrow Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Regime. The allegiance to the Nazi Regime began to weaken in early 1943 because of the horrific loss to the Soviet Union in the battle of Stalingrad. Henning von Tresckow and his collaborators saw this as a window to take out Hitler, and gain control of Germany putting an end to the war. Operation Spark was planned to take place at the Army Group Centre, which Henning von Trescknow was the Chief Operations Officer. Hitler was visiting the headquarters and would stay for dinner before departing back to Germany. Trescknow and his crew contemplated which method to use in the assassination, but ultimately decided on a time bomb. The collaborators would sneak the bomb into a case of Cointreau, which Trescknow would ask for them to take back to Germany to deliver to a friend of his. As Hitler and his team boarded the plane, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. US Immigration Policy The Intersection of Immigration Policy and Compassion US Immigration Policy in modern America is an embarrassment, compounded by many politicians apathetic and sometimes avaricious stance regarding these human transplants. For example, The Immigration Act of 1990 requires that those seeking Diversity Immigrant Visas obtain a high school diploma and have two years work experience, as well as two years job training before applicants can be considered to receive said Visa. In countries with destitute economies and little access to education for the masses, what chance do ordinary citizens have of meeting these criteria? These prerequisites share parallels with Jim Crow Laws of the 20th century such as a literacy tests and poll taxes, which not only disenfranchised blacks but also poor whites. If we only allow the educated and previously employed a foot through the door, we are doing a disservice to those not afforded the same opportunities and stealing from them the possibility of a new life in the land of opportunity. We apparently don t care whether they come legally or learn English or how they fare when they re not at work (Hanson). This is an attitude many Americans have adopted as more Mexican immigrants flood into our country. As the best friend of a Mexican woman who recently obtained citizenship, I must vehemently disagree. The exorbitant fees paid, unadulterated racism and hate speech directed at her and her child, fears of paralleled corruption between the US and Mexican government at the law enforcement and judicial level pertaining to womens rights, and poverty are all extremely high fees to be asked of any person. Basic human dignity is something that all people ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Benefits And Benefits Of Employee Theft Essay Even though there are considerable advantages to being able to trust employees in the work place, the possibility of employee theft is high and there is a price to pay if you know someone that is stealing. Employees who steal normally don t fit the profile of a criminal. I worked in a small local business for fifteen years and was faced with the dilemma of thinking a trusted employee who was my friend and confidant was in fact a thief. It was a normal workday. I went in at 5:00 am, went through my morning routine and opened up at 6:00 am. One of the responsibilities .of an opening supervisor is to count the money from the day before and make a deposit to take to the bank. I did this routine every weekend, but on this day something was off. I do not know the exact way they would know if money was missing but the day before I cashed a check for our manager Tony* that was not in the bag to count towards a deposit. I remember this because it was for $ 300.00 and we had just been paid that Friday. I thought maybe the check was in the other deposit bag but there was nothing there. I didn t want to jump to conclusions so I kept it to myself. A few weeks went by, Tony had a family emergency and I had to open that morning. I had worked the previous day and cashed another check for Tony in the amount of $200.00. The check was in the money bag and I put it in the deposit for the next day. I worked the night shift the next day and decided to check the invoice to see if the check ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Influence on College, Study Abroad Programs Introduction This nonexperimental study is examining the influence on college, study abroad programs and the influence on environmental citizenship, (Tarrant Lyons, 2012, p. 201) in undergraduate college students. The literature review provided adequate background and previous studies to support the purpose of this study. The literature review does lead to the clearly stated research purpose of exploring the effect of previous study abroad experience, gender, and destination on pre and post levels of environmental citizenship, before and after participation in a short term...travel program to Australia or New Zealand (Tarrant Lyons, p. 408). There were no research questions or hypotheses explicitly stated but can be easily inferred ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In regards to selection threat, there was no random selection or random assignment. Students chose to travel and chose their destination. There is also a threat to instrumentation, as two different surveys were used to measure student perceptions. A final threat to internal validity may be in the area of history. Students may have different experiences during their one month abroad. Threats to validity were minimal in regards to attrition (no indication students dropped out; but even so there was a large number of students included in the survey), statistical regression (students not grouped by extremes or specific characteristics), or maturation (participants to be perceived as having same physical and mental development). Extraneous variables such as socioeconomic status, perceived study abroad experience, previous travel experience, attitudes towards surveys, and experience with topics of sustainability were not controlled by the researchers. There is no indication that study participants were treated unethically. Results There appears to be appropriate use and calculation of t tests in areas of study abroad experience, program destination, and gender. There was no calculation of effect sizes. The results were presented clearly. There was no data ignored in the areas the researchers identified at the onset of the study. This nonexperimental study with nonrandom selection is not generalizable. Discussion The researchers clearly explain the meaning and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Persuasive Essay On Gmo-Free Foods My husband and I live on a fixed income. He s retired and I work as a nanny. As the price of food continues to rise we ve had to cut back on how much meat we buy, because the prices are so outrageous. Food companies keep making the packages smaller and jacking up the prices. Our money doesn t go as far as it used to, and if the utilities or other expenses go up, then it s less money for our food budget. We also have medical and prescription costs that make up a big portion of our monthly budget that we have to consider before purchasing food. Please support H.R. 1599, the Safe and Accurate Food Labeling Act of 2015, and help keep food costs down by allowing the FDA to regulate GMO free foods. I m equally concerned about the price and quality of the food I buy for us to eat. Recently, several states have started enacting their own laws concerning GMO free foods. Why does this concern me? Because the states aren t equipped to handle the task and they aren t going to be willing to work together on this very important issue. If their regulations aren t working effectively, it has an impact on more than just their state. Several different agencies in all 50 states we ll be in charge. When a breakdown in the system happens it will be a nightmare to try to figure out who s responsible. • 8. A Case For A Partnership Agreement 10. Kathleen and Jim are business partners at a consulting firm. Upon Jim s sudden death, his widow claims that she is entitled to a share of the firm s assets or should be able to take his Jims place as Kathleen s partner. Is she entitled to her claims? Why or why not? The outcome of this case depends on whether or not a partnership agreement was formed prior to the partner s death. If the partnership agreement wasn t formed, general partnership State statues will take default (Clarkson, 2015, p. 721). However, a partnership agreement will always override state laws. If the provisions allow the partnership to continue after a partner s death, the wife will be entitled to her husband s shares and if the provisions don t state otherwise she will also be able to take over his place in the firm (Wright, 2016). If a partnership agreement does not exist, most states will require a partnership to dissolve after a partner s death. The deceased partner s shares will be used to pay off any debts or obligations and the remainder funds will be distributed to the surviving partners (Wright, 2016). If the deceased partner includes his wife in his will, then a portion of the funds will be distributed to his wife after the dissolution. If his will is in probate, the funds will be distributed to his estate (Wright, 2016). A major disadvantage of not having a partnership agreement, is the risk of the spouse demanding her inheritance immediately (Wright, 2016). Since the partner s capital is ... • 11. African Colonialism During Post Colonial Colonialism It is evident that European colonialism had deeply affected the political system within post colonial Africa. One of the main leading legacies of colonialism that hindered the development of post colonial African states would be the ethnic division and the state conflicts resulting from ethnic rivalry after independence . Scholars would argue the weakness within African politics would be due to creation of forty new states brought about by the European colonial powers in the Berlin Conference of 1884 to 1885; which had artificial state borders within the continent having little to none parallelism to reality. For example, Nigeria is clearly demonstrates that the legacy of the state boundaries that had created new political entities carried. Moreover, with the colonies compromising of many different religions, ethnic groups and languages, there were cultural differences that had created ethnic divisions and rivalries which had been intensified after independence in post colonial Africa. After Nigeria had become independent in 1960, the military took over and the economic situation worsened, this had led to rising conflicts between the two main ethnic groups, the Hausa and the Igbo, as to who should have power in the new country . This was because Nigeria was a new political entity as it was a product of colonialism and being a new political entity, it had no previous experiences beyond the control of the colonial powers. This clearly demonstrates the effects of ethnic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Digital Film And Digital Technologies Essay Regarding my photographic process I am somewhat bilingual, making use of both analog film and digital technologies. I primarily shoot large format sheet film with a view camera because of the amount of control the camera provides and the rich, descriptive negative that the process yields. The image is output in the form of archival pigment prints which are then sprayed with a clear coat that enhances the blacks of the print. The prints are produced using a drum scanner and large format printers which provide a high degree of control, sharpness, and description that is imperative to my work and not possible in the dark room. The photographs presented in my thesis exhibition reflect semantic, semiotic, and philosophical interests. They also describe formal concerns contrasting surfaces and architectural anomalies may create a kind of perceptual discrepancy upon first glance. The pictures, however, are decidedly un mediated descriptions of real world phenomena. In this way, the photographs demonstrate an interest in the ready made and my on going commitment to making work in and of the world. In the removed sign works, I photographed residual adhesive attached to walls after signs have been removed. The current debate is very unclear as opinion on this does, and always has varied greatly. Their belief in tradition is also because they believe that it prevents chaos and oppression, which is created by revolution and reform as it moves people further and further apart. However, Conservatism does merely reflect the interests of the privileged and prosperous, because tradition and authority in themselves harm the less privileged, and because the belief in these values is only because it prevents uprising, which would inevitably harm the privileged and prosperous. Burke s belief that there is a natural hierarchy in society because people will work harder than others rather than because of birth, education or special privilege is a false claim at suggesting that everyone has equal chances. This is because this idea claims that birth, education and special privilege have no impact on where you lie in society. This is not true as people with more opportunities at work; a better education and special privilege inevitably give you a lot more opportunities to be higher up in the hierarchical system. Also, the main reason for Conservatives belief in Authority is that it allows people to know their roles in society, which inevitably prevents the less privileged from realising that they are being unfairly treated within society. Data Collection Method Participant Observation Essay Data collection method participant observation Introduction and Meaning of Observation The most common method used for getting information about the various things around us, is to observe those things and also the various processes related to those things. Hence, it can be said that observation acts as an important, fundamental and the basic method of getting information about anything. But it must be kept in mind that observation is not just seeing things but it is carefully watching the things and trying to understand them in depth, in order to get some information about them related to what it is intended to. Observations sometimes act scientifically, when used by the researchers in various research works but it should be noted that all observations are not scientific in nature. Scientists and nonscientists both rely on observation to learn behavior. The difference between the scientific and nonscientific observation is the manner in which the observations are made. Non scientists don t usually keep formal records of the things they have observed so they consequently depend on the memory for the information of that event. But unfortunately what one remembers about an event is not likely to be a literal record of what one experienced and hence memory can be affected by the information later added about the event experience (Bartlett, 1932; Loftus, 1997a, 1997b; Pezdeick, Finger, Hodge, 1997) whereas scientific observation on the other hand is made under precisely ... In this paper we make a survey on mathematical NP hard problems of digital signature schemes and present the powerful and practical of some schemes depending on its security level. Introduction: Digital signature is a verification mechanism based on the public key scheme, and it provides: Data integrity (the assurance that data has not been changed by an unauthorized party). Authentication (the assurance that the source of data is as claimed). Non repudiation (the assurance that an entity cannot deny commitments). Generally, every public key digital signature schemes is based on a mathematical problem. This problem is known as NP (Non deterministic polynomial) hard problem. The problem is considered to be an NP hard mathematical problem if the validity of a proposed solution can be checked only in polynomial time. Nothing says it more obvious than the account from Walt Edwards (as cited in Dillin, 2006), When we caught illegal aliens on farms and ranches, the farmer or rancher would often call and complain [to officials in El Paso]. And depending on how politically connected they were, there would be political intervention. That is how we got into this mess we are in now. (Dillin, John, 2006) By the end of the program, farm labor unions began to form which eventually led to the abolishment of laws stating it was illegal to organize farm labor. This lead the way to the grape strikes in California and the boycotts in stores, lead by Filipino farm workers. After the first strike several various organizations began to form and led similar movements around the country. Through the 1960s to the 1980s, Cesar Chavez was a major inspiration to such movements and organizations. I remember walking into the small pet store in Forest Grove and making our way to the back There a cage sat, my mom and I both looked at each other and gushed about the cuteness in the cage. Inside, were about 5 rabbits that were going crazy, bouncing off the walls of the two story metal cage. My eyes instantly fell on the two bunnies that were a honey brown color. The other bunnies were white with black spots all over but the brown ones took my interest. I had a perfect fantasy planned out, the golden brown rabbit with floppy ears will be mine and I ll name her Bunbun. This was in my mind the vision of a perfect little bunny. After relentless bagging and a few tears, my parents agreed to let me have a bunny. To this day, I still remember how excited I was. My mom and I entered the pet store and I immediately ran to the back towards the cage. There was a single brown bunny left. My mom went up to the clerk and asked to put a hold on the last brown bunny. We had to get all the supplies and a cage before we could just bring her home. After buying everything that was necessary and more, we returned to the pet store. I remember clearly how much the bunny cost, only $35 dollars. The clerk walked to the cage with a cardboard carrier. As he opened the cage, the little brown rabbit ran up to the second floor and stood up tall. I grinned widely walking out of that pet store carrying the carrier. I could feel ... • 35. Richard IIi, By William Shakespeare Children bring out the underlying disposition and wicked intentions we all possess. Richard III, by William Shakespeare, is a tragic play about the Duke of Gloucester who desires to be the king of England. He does this through the manipulation and murder of many characters, including Queen Elizabeth s children, Prince Edward and the Duke of York. These children emphasize some of the adult themes in the play and reveals the devastating nature of these themes. Their characteristics and deaths all contribute to the emphasis of these themes. Critics Marie Hélène Bisnaught and Michel Bito, and Vincent Walsh all agree that the murder of Prince Edward and the Duke of York was an atrocious deed. Prince Edward and the Duke of York are innocent, precious, and witty. These traits the children acquire truly highlights the extent of their deaths. Both these children are well beyond their years. This clear when the Duke of York says I could have given my uncle s grace a flout, / To touch his growth nearer than he d touched mine (Act II, Scene IV, Line 24 25). The young duke cleverly insults his uncle s height and manners essentially saying that Richard is a short, disrespected man. The children s innocence is also evident through the perspective of their mother and uncle. Many benefits have come from these law acts that have been set in place. Recovery plans have been put into place to help our animals and plants replenish. While doing this, exemptions can and do occur. If there is a project to be done within a habitat of a listed species, then the ESA must notify the FWS and National Marine Fisheries Service. The area where the two spheres intersect narrows the possible location of the receiver to a circular area. Finally, the receiver measures the distance to a third satellite and cross references third sphere with the first two spheres. The intersection of the third sphere with the first two spheres then narrows the possible location of the receiver to two points. In order to locate the exact position of the receiver on earth, the system employs one of two methods. The first method is for the system to take a measurement to a fourth satellite, which is often done for other reasons described later. The alternate method is to mathematically throw out one of the answers, which can often be done since one point is located in space or is not otherwise plausible. The question that naturally follows is how a receiver is able to make a distance measurement from its position on earth to the satellites orbiting the earth. The basic physics theory used to determine distance is the speed of the signal multiplied by the time it took to travel from the satellite to the receiver. Since radio waves are used to communicate between the satellite and the receiver, the speed of the transmission is known to be the speed of light or 186,000 miles per second. • 40. Julius Caesar Evil Shakespeare s tragedy Julius Caesar takes place in Rome at the time of Caesar s assassination. After Caesar returns home, he is hailed as a war hero, and the citizens of Rome plan to crown him as their ruler. Cassius, knowing Caesar will soon become a tyrant, convinces the honorable and well respected Brutus, a good friend of Caesar, to murder him for the good of the city. Although many consider Julius Caesar the hero of the play, Brutus is the true Shakespearean tragic hero. This is proven first by his inherently honorable character. Furthermore, Brutus s loyalty, which in most cases is considered a virtue, becomes a sin within the context of the story. Lastly, Brutus becomes blind to reality, believing the murder of Caesar is a good and necessary act. First and foremost, Brutus is proven to be a tragic hero by his good character. Brutus, unlike Caesar, is a humble man, known in the town to be loyal and put others before himself. For example, while Cassius attempts to rile Brutus up over Caesar s newfound fame, he argues the point that Brutus has an inherent right to the throne. Brutus responds to this by saying that [he] had rather be a villager / Than to repute himself a son of Rome (Shakespeare 1.2.180 181). While Caesar is so intoxicated by the attention and fame he receives that he agrees to rule without any critical thinking, Brutus, not blinded by greed or pride, is able to clearly see that taking on this power would not be wise. Very few would be able to resist this opportunity to be at the center of all this praise, but Brutus is both humble and wise enough to turn down what should be his role because he realizes the ability to be worshipped is not enough to make a leader. Although literary critic Harold Bloom argues that Brutus is ... morally rather vain ... [and] powerfully self centered (1 2), it is proven throughout the novel that Brutus has practically no ego and puts the needs of the Romans before his own. What strategy did Coca Cola start to pursue in 2000? What were the benefits of this strategy to Coca Cola? What were the drawbacks?
