How Does Emily Bronte Create Tension In Wuthering Heights
Many people, will consider Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte to be an intense love story; kinda like
Romeo and Juliet on the Yorkshire Moors. However this story is one of revenge that arises from love.
Wuthering Heights is a multi generational Gothic romance that centres around the doomed love
between Heathcliff, an orphan and Catherine Earnshaw, the daughter of Heathcliff s adopted father.
Heathcliff grows in his adopted family, till he is reduced into a servant and runs away when Catherine
decides to marry another. He returns later, rich and educated, to gain his revenge on the two families
of Wuthering Heights and Thrushcross Grange that he believed had ruined his life. This dramatic story
about passionate love, merciless hatred, violence ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Its part of the Literary canon should live on as the novel is an interesting interpretation of human
nature and it deals with the universal emotion of love and hate as one that go hand in hand. It has an
intriguing plot that causes many confusions and raises many questions but in the end the complexity
creates for an engaging story. This novel is all about things being both very black and very white.
Characters are both very good and very bad. Love is both true and a total lie. The moors are both
beautiful and terrifying. Death is both final and... not so final. A forerunner to the modern era of books

Research Paper On Hildegard Von Bingen
Kyrsten Oliva
Enriched Accomplishments
Today on the top of poetry s best seller lists, and classical music s top ten list lies Hildegard von
Bingen. Although she lived 900 years her works are considered to be masterpieces even today. She
was the last of 10 children and was born near Mainz in Germany in 1098. Hildegard von Bingen was a
mystic woman that stood out from the rest, during her infant years she had said that God had come to
her, but she was too young to express it. By eight years old she took on the spiritual life, and by fifteen
she became a nun and vocalized her experiences and visions to others. In doing so, Hildegard von
Bingen removed herself from marriage, motherhood, and traditional medieval women s work.

The Challenger Disaster And Its Impact On Space Travel
The Challenger Disaster was one of the biggest events of the 1980 s. It symbolized that space travel is
a challenging endeavor which bears it s own set of risks, especially when the entirety of the shuttle
program was plagued with issues up until the Challenger incident. Initially, America put a ton of
resources into the space program in order to achieve the goal of winning the Space Race. Once that
goal was achieved, America s space program was scaled down to a fraction of the previous budget
(space.com article). Out of the small budget, the shuttle program came into existence. During it s
conception, various bedget cuts and
Right at the dawn of the Space program, the Soviet Union had launched their first artificial satellite,
Sputnik 1 [History channel].
Many Americans were fearful that the Soviet Union would be able to posses the ability to launch
missiles from space[History Channel]. As a result of these fears, the US launched their own satellite
and President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed a public order creating the National Aeronautics and
Space Administration (NASA) in 1958. In 1961, another blow was taken by the US space program
when the Soviet Union launched the first manned spaceflight [History]. This caused US policy makers
to fear that they were starting to fall behind the Soviet Union, which lead to major investments in
better education in math and science[CFR]. Shortly thereafter, President John F Kennedy made a bold
claim that declared the US would land a

NHL Lockout Analysis
Established on November 26, 1917, the National Hockey League (NHL) has been showcasing the
skills of the world s best hockey players for nearly a century. The NHL is composed of 30 teams all
over North America and has 50 million die hard fans worldwide. But even with a total revenue of $4.1
billion, the NHL still experienced 4 work stoppages throughout its history. During the most recent
lockout from September 15, 2012 until January 12, 2013, the players and the league weren t the only
ones who were affected. Many Canadians felt the impact of the lockout in their daily lives, which isn t
much of a surprise as hockey is Canada s favourite sport. In this report, we will analyze the causes,

After doing extensive research on both sides and their motives, we believe that the NHLPA was more
reasonable in their demands; it makes for players to make more money if the NHL was making more
money. What the NHL initially wanted would have cut player revenues by 9%. Many additional
factors made this unfair such as the lowered salary cap and their refusal to talk unless their proposal
was used; but the primary reason was that the NHL tried to establish an equitable revenue split in their
favour. What the NHL did was unfair to the players and the fans, caused unnecessary commotion and
dragged negotiations on for longer than it needed to

Questions On The Usa Patriots Act
Question 1 According to the USA patriots act, the practice of detaining aliens that are close associates
with terrorism is not a good idea. The decision by the court can be said not to be the best because it
included even people who are close to the groups that practise these heinous activities. The criteria for
deportation and detention that covers the plotters or the actual implementers of the terrorist act and the
other people that are related or are close affiliated with the groups linked to these individuals go
against the rights and freedoms of individuals. The action is against the human rights because all
individuals have a right not to detention without trial. Detaining people is against their right to liberty,

The law should be rational to include and look for ways of accommodating such cases. Question 2
Establishment of strong and efficient defensive measures influences the selection of sites to target by
the terrorists. Good defense also enables terrorists to craft other method new methods to attack their
targets, but it does not totally prevent the terrorists from committing their terror attacks. Terrorists are
groups that wage war against the weak points of the society, and they are never out to fight but to
cause destruction. Terrorists attack the innocent people as a way of articulating their ideology and
communicating to the government. Realization of security beep sets terror to a less secure place where
they lodge their attacks. However, security effectiveness does not prevent terrorists from committing
their terror attacks. Most of the people members of these groups are even ready to die, and they will
use any method to cause destruction. Some will even swallow bombs and go to public places where a
lot of people gather (Kamien G. D, 2006). The terrorist also comes up with other methods of
administering their wrath when they realize that the security is tight. These methods include the use of
weapons that can easily get ported without causing much attention like guns instead of bombs and also
recruiting members of the target country to their group. With the innovations, the terrorists can
commit to series of attacks on

Economic Inequality, Inequality And Inequality
According to the OECD, the term inequality in the opposite of equity can be defined as evenness or
fairness within the social, political, and economic perspectives. Equity forms the core value of both
the western democratic tradition and religions. From the concept of equality, inequality can be
described as unfair or uneven treatments of the people within the society or unequal distribution of
resources, income, and other factors between different sectors in the society. Inequality can be defined
as the unfair or uneven conditions within the society, where some people control more wealth, money,
opportunities, income, as well as political favoritism than others (Stiglitz, 2013). For some reasons,
economists have included economic background of the people in the society as another form of
equality. Inequality comes in different forms: The different types of inequalities are political
inequality, inequality of outcome, economic inequality, Social inequality, and inequality of
opportunity (Clark 2015).
First, political inequality can be defined using either distributional or interdependency approaches.
With respect to distributional approach, political inequality is defined as structured differences within
the society in the acquisition and distribution of political resources. On the other hand,
interdependency approach defines this type of inequality as the influences that a person or persons
have on government legislation as compared to others (Stiglitz,

Discuss The Strengths And Weaknesses Of Malaysia s Security
This paper will analyze the weakness of decision making processes regarding Malaysia s security and
provide evidence in supporting this statement. The scandal of Scorpene s submarines and the policies
made by the MKN will be the main evidence in analyzing the weaknesses of the decision making
process regarding Malaysia s security. In 2002, the reputation and reliability of Malaysia s security
system have been challenged after the leak of the scandal involving the purchase and sale of highly

As far as we know, Malaysia perceives itself as a democratic country and in fact of that, all democratic
values must be practices truthfully, for example, the decision making processes that should be
discussed with the member of the parliament before any decision, law, and other related things are

Your words will tell others what you think. Your actions will tell them what you believe. This quote
said by T.D Jakes shows that your real actions and real words will reveal your true self. The character
Daniel Boone learns this after he sees his friend Wolf s true ego. The two boys shouted and laughed as
they ran through this crooked path. They kept it up until Wolf s father came (57). In the beginning of
the story, Daniel Boone meets an Indian Quaker named Wolf. Daniel and Wolf played for hours until
Wolf s father came. In this part of the story, Wolf is portrayed as a nice character. After meeting Wolf s

Compare Thomas Paine And Thoreau Civil Disobedience
In the United States of America, individuals have always taken it upon themselves to write the wrong
that they witness in society. This can be portrayed in both Thomas Paine s Common Sense, and Henry
David Thoreau Civil Disobedience. Throughout history, as the times have changed so has individuals
perception on government. Both authors existed at a different time in history, but they both convey a
similar message that citizens should disobey government but their idea of government is completely
different. Henry David Thoreau wrote Civil Disobedience, which is about him trying to persuade
citizens that their obligation is to contravene and correct the unfair laws of the government. Thoreau
begins Civil Disobedience with the view point That government is best which governs least Thomas
Paine wrote Common Sense, to explain his vision of the ideal government, one where people vote and
elect a person to run the country, which is similar to our democracy today( the great power of
government be held in one elected legislature for the nation and one for each individual province ). He
mainly criticizes Great Britain and how we need to break away and become our own country or
government? After his writing went public and explaining what had happened between America and
Great Britain, it was time for America to finally secede.
Thoreau believed that individual integrity had the ability to triumph the government. Thoreau went to
jail because he refused to pay his poll taxes for the past six years. Also, he protested against the
Mexican war, and slavery, which also contributed to him going to jail and his views on the
government. During his short period in jail he clarified that he did not dread it, and portrayed it as
Traveling into a far country (964). Although, Paine thought that individual integrity was very
indistinct and unreasonable. Paine considered his individual rights to be violated by the government...
The main goal that Thomas Paine had for writing Common Sense was for America to break away
from Great Britain and become an independent country. Thoreau and Paine are both suggesting that
the United States citizens should disobey their government, but the ways in which these authors are

Analysis Of Tobias Wolff s Hunters
You fat moron, You aren t good for diddly (Arp 94). Being told these words over and over again, a
person eventually becomes discouraged and insecure. In Tobias Wolff s story, Hunters in the Snow,
main character, Tub is emotionally abused throughout the story. Tub s two friends, Frank and Kenny
haggle him about his personal appearance and sensitivity as he struggles throughout the story.
Frustration and insecurities lead him to the conflict that he always tries to avoid. The emotional abuse
causes Tub to be illogical and sensitive, but then eventually pushes him to become inconsiderate and
self centered.
Tub, the protagonist of the story, is welcomed into the story right in the beginning. The attention on
him is what makes the story. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He doesn t try to make fun of others like Kenny and Frank. Tub tries to cope with the insults. Tub
being soft and emotional, his emotions escalate inside. He never confronts Kenny and Frank when
they say things like, You haven t seen your ball in ten years, he just brushes those type of comments
off, but inside those snide comments kill him (Arp 88). He brushes those comments off so it does not
lead to conflict.
Due to Tub being emotional, he can also be weak. Him being weak causes him to complain at times
during the story, he appears to be tender and easily harmed. Tub complains throughout the story
saying, I waited an hour and I m cold (Arp 86 and 87). Kenny and Frank never show compassion
towards him, making Tub seek even more attention and compassion from them. Tub hoped for Frank
and Kenny to be compassionate and made excuses for his self when he says that his gland problem is
what causes him to be obese. Frank and Kenny continue to make fun of him and show no compassion
at all.
Due to Tub being insecure, he longs for acceptance. In an act of hopelessness, Tub lies about having a
gland problem that causes him to not be able to lose weight on his diet. When Kenny confronts Tub
about not losing any weight as he eats his one hard boiled egg and a stick of celery, Tub gets
defensive, You think I like hard boiled eggs (Arp 88). Lying about his gland problem is one way he
tries to get Kenny and Frank to

Septic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (SIRS)
The word sepsis is derived from the ancient Greek word for rotten flesh and putrefaction. Since then, a
wide variety of definitions have been applied to sepsis, including sepsis syndrome, severe sepsis,
bacteremia, septicemia and septic shock In 1991, the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP)
and the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) developed a new set of terms and definitions to
define sepsis in a more precise manner [1, 2]. These definitions take into account the findings that
sepsis may result from a multitude of infectious agents and microbial mediators and may not be
associated with detectable bloodstream infection. The term systemic inflammatory response syndrome
(SIRS) was coined to describe the com mon systemic response to a wide variety of insults. When

Septic shock is a subset of severe sepsis and was defined as sepsis induced hypotension persisting
despite adequate fluid resusci tation (see Fig. 12.1). While the quantity of fluid that qualifies as
adequate fluid resuscitation is controversial, we believe septic shock is best defined as a mean arterial
pressure (MAP) less than 65 mmHg after a fluid challenge of 20 mL/Kg body weight (given 30 60
minutes) in patients with sepsis and in the absence of other causes for hypotension (also see Chap. 14).
According to the ACCP/SCCM defini tions, three stages in the hierarchy of the host s response to
infection were recognized, namely, sepsis, severe sepsis and septic shock, with sepsis having the best
prognosis and septic shock the worst. While the use of the SIRS criteria to define sepsis is some what
controversial [3 6], many consider sepsis to be best defined as the systemic response to infection with
the presence of some degree of organ dysfunction

Analysis Of Etgar Keret sWhat Of This Goldfish Would You...
It is usually a challenge to choose between the devil and the deep blue sea. Ordinarily, one has to
consider one s values as well as preferred consequences in order to make the better or best choice. In
the short story, What of This Goldfish, Would You Wish? by Etgar Keret, Sergei Goralick faced a
similar conundrum. As an aloof Russian expatriate fisherman in Jaffa, Israel, his only company is a
magic three wish granting fish. But having impulsively murdered Yonatan, Goralick had to decide
whether to use his last wish to save the boy or keep his magic goldfish companion. Though he would
have preferred the latter, Goralick made the better choice saving Yonatan as it matches his established
humaneness and the consequences attached were more reasonable. Before he arrived at this decision,
Gorelick considered covering up the murder to keep the fish. He said, Fixable... I ll just mop up the
blood... When I m fishing,...I ll tie the kid to a rock and dump him in the sea. Not a chance, not in a
million years, will anyone ever find him. ( lines 164 171) His stubbornness started surfacing,
obstructing his sound reasoning. Goralick tried to find excuses in order not to use his last wish. For
example, he said that he was saving it for something important.Goralick was ambivalent.Whilst
suggesting this, he forgot how scared he was to even touch Yonatan s blood(lines 124 127). That along
with his statement, He can t be dead (110 113) proves that had he chosen otherwise, Goralick would
have suffered from guilt. In fact, even the goldfish asserted, You killed him, Sergei, ... but you re not a
murderer. ... If, on this, you won t waste a wish, then tell me, Sergei, what is it good for? Though what
immediately happened after this question was skipped, one can infer that Sergei thought thoroughly
during that time. He rightfully chose to save Yonatan. His actions such the uses of his first two wishes
reveal his character traits.
When he heard of the critical conditions of his sister and Sveta s boy respectively, he did not hesitate
to use his first two wishes to save them respectively. His sister had a fatal lung cancer; The fish undid
it in an instant the words barely out of Sergei s mouth. .(lines 135 137) And

How Does Boethius Define Happiness
People consistently pursue happiness and regard happiness as their ultimate goal to accomplish.
However, the convoluted nature of happiness leads people to strive it through diverse ways; the
obtainment of fame, nobility, ambition, glory, and beauty are all regarded as objectives of happiness.
In the Consolation of Philosophy, Boethius refines his understanding of happiness through the guide
from Lady Philosophy. He changes his recognition of happiness from mundane accomplishments to
interior and instinctive superior goodness by God. The important factor influencing the transformation
of Boethius is how Lady Philosophy defines happiness: it is a sufficient and independent state in
which people draw satisfaction from something cannot be taken ... Show more content on

He is condemned to death because of treason and all his properties are confiscated. Clearly, at this
stage, Boethius blames the inconsistent fortune for his loss instead of finding the true interior
reasoning forcing his adversity. The previous stage when he is wealthy and powerful still reminds him
of his vanity and fame, and he believes those qualities as factors of happiness. His current
understanding of happiness is shallow and meaningless, and this stage indicates a Boethius full of
folly and waiting the correction of his mind to approach better goodness. Boethius feels unjustifiable
about the charges and accusations people put on him, a situation in which he feels that wicked men do
harm to virtuous men . The more lamented he becomes, the more indicative of his anger and
desperation. However, anger expresses helplessness, and desperation illustrates fear in his heart.
Boethius, even after losing freedom in the jail, still tenaciously values his previous wealth and glory
greatly. Boethius bemoans his tragedy and feels extremely sorrowful about the current loss he just
confronts. On the contrary, what Boethius does not realize is that happiness should be constant,
inflexible and unable to be taken away, and because his wealth and glory are constantly changing, so
Boethius does not pursue the ultimate happiness but is tempted by temporary satisfaction and

Regret by Kate Chopin Essay
Regret by Kate Chopin
In the short story Regret by Kate Chopin a woman called Mamzelle Aurélie has to keep a neighbour s
four children for two weeks.
Mamzelle Aurélie is an old and lonely woman. She has never had a man and lives alone on her farm
with some animals and Negroes working for her.
Because of a dangerous illness of her mother, the young neighbour has to leave and couldn t take care
of her children anymore. This is why Mamzelle Aurélie, who has never ever has children before, has
to keep them.
At the beginning she has great problems with managing those children. But after she a short period of

One example for this is that the action takes places within a short period of time, which is quite
precisely two weeks, and the place of action doesn t change; it only plays on the farm.
You could also say that the story features an important and critical moment in Mamzelle Aurélie s life
and that there are just a few characters.
Another very important aspect is the symbol used in this short story. I suppose it is justified to say that
the children are the symbol uniting all different aspects in the story. Before Mamzelle Aurélie had to
keep the children she was leading a very lonely life. As the children were living with her, her life got a
sense and she became a happy person. But after they left her she realized that she wasted her whole
life and regrets everything. Through those children all the different themes of the story like family or
loneliness come together.
Now this is the one hand, but on the other several typical aspects of a short story aren t part of the text.
Already at the beginning of the story we get to know a lot about the main character what gives you the
impression of an introduction.
Additionally Mamzelle Aurélie isn t really an everyday person. She is very special and represents just
a very small part of the readers.
But all in all my opinion is that the story features many typical elements and you can definitely call it

Country Club Golf Degree
During the high school summers, I worked on a country club golf course. My job mainly consisted of
greeting the members as they came to golf, clean their clubs, and wash the carts. I was basically the
face of the country club golf operations. Many members are regular golfers whom come by the club
multiple times a week. Through the years, I met and formed really close friendships with a select few
members. These members collectively decided to take me under their wing. This was around the time
I was applying for colleges. Through our many conversations, and learning about their lives (they are
both in the business field), I changed my intended major from chemistry to finance, and switched my
intended school from the out of state University of Michigan to the in state Indiana University. These

Often times, inspiration gives an individual motivation to complete a task/problem. When a problem is
complex enough, it may take a few days to find a solution. Inspiration is a sudden insight, or source of

Motivation is the desire to dedicate time to a specific task. My personal inspiration is to achieve
something great, which I belief contributes to how motivated I am towards my academics. I want to

Essay on The Schermerhorn Control Process
Introduction: It is the methodology of observing, looking at and adjusting work execution. All
managers ought to be included in the control capacity regardless of the possibility that their units are
executing as arranged. Managers can t generally know whether their units are performing
appropriately until they have assessed what exercises have been carried out and have contrasted the
genuine execution and the coveted standard. A powerful control framework guarantees that exercises

How Does Shakespeare Present Ambition In Macbeth
Shakespeare s eponymous tragedy, Macbeth revolves around the idea of a corrupted thane. Written in
the Jacobean period for James I the vulnerable new king of England. Shakespeare develops the idea of
deception and ambition throughout the play. The use of evocative language, irony and the structure of
the tragedy effectively demonstrates Macbeth s hamartia and reveals things are not always they seem.
A significant factor in Macbeth is the crucial idea of deception within the characters, lady Macbeth
and Macbeth. The deceitfulness of their own objective allows themselves to manipulate others to
usurp the throne and rule. For instance Fair is foul and foul is fair where foul signifies the weather and

foreshadows the downfall of Macbeth, the tragic hero. Macbeth also says in his way lies the crown

near the end of Macbeth soliloquy I have no spur to prick the sides of my intent, but only vaulting

Jeff Jacoby Bring Back Flogging Summary
In Bring back flogging Jeff Jacoby argues that corporal punishment should be brought back into our
justice system because imprisoning criminals is taking up too much of tax payers money and criminals
learn how to become better criminals in prison. He uses statistics, facts, and quotes to help support his
claim that our justice system is sub par and does more harm than good to taxpayers and even
criminals.
Even though Jacoby makes a good point the essay fails to include ethos and pathos making it
ineffective. Although he supports what he says with hard facts and statistics he fails to gain an
emotional connection with the readers nor does he establish his credibility.

The Birth Of A Moral Dilemma
The Birth of a Moral Dilemma in The Guest People choose every day in different circumstances and
degrees either small imperceptible one, such as the color of the shirt that they will wear, or huge
emotional and moral dilemmas like an abort or a high risk surgery. Nonetheless, there is always a
decision made that has its consequences (want or not). Albert Camus uses characterization to address
the importance of choices. The author uses the character of Balducci to show what happens when
people follow the rules without hesitation. For example, when Balducci arrives into the school to leave
the Arab with Daru, and Daru shows himself discontent with that unforeseen problem, he says, Those
are the orders (Camus). Balducci as a man of law must follow whatever thing is said to him, and he
will do it for sure without dubiety; in addition, Balducci remarks, [Y]ou must sign, that s the rule
(Camus). He has to obey all the requisites and commandments that his work dictates, and he can t
avoid doing this because he will break all the goodness that justice represents. Nevertheless, Camus
tries to point out if a person who only follow a guide or manual for every decision he or she made.
That person is, in fact, making no choices, and he or she does not have to face and think about what is
right or wrong because that person will search and do whatever is said in that guide. Particularly, in

Malware Analysis And Detection Techniques
MALWARE ANALYSIS/DETECTION TECHNIQUES
Sikorski Honig (2012), explain the fact that when carrying out malware analysis and detection, only
the malware executable is present, which is usually not in natural language form. A variety of tools
and techniques need to be employed to ensure that the underlying information is revealed. Two basic
approaches to malware analysis and detection include: static analysis (observing the malware without
running it), and dynamic analysis (running the malware). They can be done either in the basic form or
more advanced ways.
Static Analysis
In the basic form, static analysis involves carefully observing the executable file without looking at
the actual commands or instructions. This is done to ascertain that a file is indeed malicious, give
information about its functions, and occasionally give information that will enable one produce simple
network signatures. This process is straightforward and can be performed quickly, but in most cases, it
is not effective when dealing with sophisticated malware, and may miss significant behaviours. An
example of static analysis is the use of antivirus software such as AVG for malware analysis. Unique
identifiers called hashes can also be used to identify malware in static analysis.
Dynamic Analysis
In the basic form, dynamic analysis techniques involve both running the malware code and examining
its behaviour on the system or network so as to remove the infection, derive effective signatures, or

The Genocide Of The Rwandan Genocide
It is almost too easy to think of the Rwandan Genocide as something out of a fictional horror film, in
that it almost doesn t seem possible such atrocities could have actually occurred. Only at the cinema
could murdering and dismembering the bodies of perfectly innocent citizens, many of them children,
be imaginable. The story of the Rwandan Genocide is one of a great divide between the Hutu and
Tutsi people. However, there was no real reason for this division to come to fruition. They didn t have
religious disagreements, as in the Armenian Genocide, nor were they born into an environment with
extreme ethnic tensions. European colonialism in the Rwandan region ultimately created the ethnic
divide between the Hutu and and Tutsi groups ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, in Rwanda, the colonialists did not directly incite a genocide, but instead left the nation in
an extremely divided state, that lead to the genocide. This difference is caused by the fact that they
were settled in different ways (Pappé, 2008). North America was settled through settler colonialism, in
which the settlers took over the government entirely and became the dominant population. Rwanda
was settled through elite colonialism, so that only political elites from Belgium and Germany lived in
the region, and left the prior governmental institutions in place. As a result, there was less conflict
between the native population and the colonialists, because they were so hands off. Prior to the onset
of the genocide, the Hutus and Tutsis lived relatively in harmony. Although some historians would like
to simplify their original exchanges as merely peaceful and democratic, this is not the case. It is
important instead to note that Hutus and Tutsis have endured an extremely unequal relationship from
the beginning. The Hutu are generally thought of as the primary settlers in this region and the Tutsi
and a foreign group that would later come to establish themselves. In actuality, the Twa, a people that
is still around today, were the first to inhabit this area, but were quickly outnumbered dominated by
the Hutu, with whom they traded goods. Over ten thousand

Attorney Client Privilege Case Study
In the United States, the doctrine of attorney client privilege developed as a result of two major
influences: A treatise published by Professor John Wigmore, and the United States Supreme Court.1
Professor Wigmore published his elements of the attorney client privilege and they are as follows: (1)
Where legal advice of any kind is sought (2) from a professional legal advisor in his capacity as such,
(3) the communications relating to that purpose, (4) made in confidence, (5) by the client, (6) are at his
instance permanently protected (7) from disclosure by himself or by the legal advisor, (8) except the
protection be waived. 2
The United States Supreme Court has also dramatically influenced the doctrine of attorney client
privilege.3 The court s case law dealing with attorney client privilege has largely reflected and
expanded upon Professor Wigmore s concepts.4 And from early on in the Supreme Court s history, the
Court recognized the importance of the attorney client privilege5. For example, in 1876 the Court
described the policy behind the attorney client privilege as one that allows a person to consult his legal
advisor without being liable to have the interview made public. 6 This policy promote free ... Show

law s intricacies, privileging attorney client communications enables a client to put forth his or her
best case.11 The attorney client privilege is especially important in a criminal case, where the
government can use all of its powers against an individual, and the stakes are higher than in a civil
context.12 The defendant or criminal should not be denied the opportunity to enable his lawyer to

Hayaks contemporaries on the other hand believed the best path forward was central planning which
would allow resources to be directed to socially useful areas. Hayak on the contrary begged to differ

order to successfully allocate free resources the central planner needs to know what goods people want

Abstract The efficiency of sensor networks depends on the coverage of the target area. Although, in
general, a sufficient number of sensors are used to ensure a certain degree of redundancy in coverage,
a good sensor deployment method is still necessary to balance the workload of sensors in target area.
In a sensor network sensors can move around to self deploy. The deployment deals with moving
sensors from an initial unbalanced state to balanced state. Therefore, several optimization problems
can be defined to minimize different parameters such as total moving distance, number of moves,
communication cost. There is a unique problem called communication holes in sensor networks, areas
not covered by any node.
In this paper, we will work mainly to detect and remove communication hole in a heterogeneous
wireless sensor network. For this we will study the existing techniques. Finding an efficient
deployment that modifies the existing techniques.
Keywords Wireless sensor networks, load balance, sensor deployment, holes.
I. INTRODUCTION
Wireless sensor network (WSN) is an infrastructure less, dynamic topology, application oriented,
multihoping network design with small, sensing wireless distributed nodes. [1] WSN consists of
thousand of wireless node distributed in a geographical area. The distributed nodes senses the current
status of its region and supply to the next upper which collects different information from different
nodes and supplied final information to the

american family with each character in the show representing another symbol separately. They take

and mimic the American Dream at the same time. The Simpsons family strives for the things we as a
society strive for. They represent our society even though they are just fictional ... Show more content

Your specialist will get some information about any therapeutic issues, including day by day liquor
admission and late sicknesses, to distinguish the fundamental reason for your side effects.
In the event that your side effects show dynamic seeping in the throat, your specialist may do an
esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD). Prior to this methodology, you will be given a narcotic and a
painkiller to keep any inconvenience. An endoscope (little, adaptable tube with a camera joined to it)
will be embedded through the throat and into the stomach. This can help your specialist see the throat

Part 1: Presentation of Scottish whisky
Chapter 1: History of Scottish whisky
Today, whiskey ranks as the most popular spirits in the world. It became a familiar product, known
even in the remotest areas of the planet. Its origin dates back to the tenth century and is the product of
the Arab alchemists that would have discovered at that time the alcohol distillation process to create
cosmetics and other fragrances. However, Arab did not consume the alcohol and its use as a drink was
popularized in Europe by the Moors. Thus, in the twelfth century people began to distil spirits from
grapes, grains, fruits or vegetables. The first aqua vitae (water of life) produced from fermented

Open Learner Model As A Tool For Self Regulated Learning
Open Learner Model as a Tool for Self regulated Learning
Research Question
An Intelligent Tutoring System (ITS) is a computer assisted instructional system designed using
artificial intelligence to simulate a human tutor and customize instruction. Traditionally ITS had a
three component architecture: domain model, student model, and tutoring model (Self, 1990). Later, a
fourth component, user interface, was added, and now ITS is commonly known to have a four
component architecture. Domain model is the source of expert knowledge that can be used as a
standard to evaluate learner performance or to detect errors (Nkambou, Bourdeau, and Mizoguchi,
2010). Student model, the central component of an ITS, contains knowledge about the students ...

As the underlying modeling technology is used not only to inform the system of students learning but
also to reveal it to students for inspection, a key challenge for an OLM is to create an effective user
interface for presenting the model and supporting interaction (Bull and Kay, 2011).

Abraham Heschel s Definition Of Abraham Lincoln As A Prophet
Abraham Lincoln
The definition of a prophet, according to Abraham Heschel, is someone who is faithful to God, is
passionate, and would risk their lives to spread the truth of God. Prophets like Isaiah were called to go
on missions for God, to help people see, and he, with a passion, said Here Am I. Send Me. (Isaiah
6:8). In Jeremiah, God states that he is to be prophet to the nations (Jeremiah 1:4). Abraham Lincoln
was 52 when he became President of the United States of America and became one of the most well
known Presidents in United States history. While normally, you do not think of Abraham Lincoln as a
prophet, Abraham Lincoln fits Abraham Heschel s description of a prophet because he made our
country one again, he emancipated slavery even though many of us thought slavery was okay, and he

Back in 1861, Abraham Lincoln was approximately five months into being President when the Civil
War rang out across the United States of America. The President had come up with a series of plans
for how he planned to have the Confederates lose the Civil War, but each time he came up short,
however, after the Battle of Gettysburg, his plans were finally starting to work out the way he wanted,
this became known as the turning point of the war for the union. After only six days of having won the
war, Abraham Lincoln was, sadly, shot and killed by John Wilkes Booth. Abraham Heschel states that
Prophets earn their title by witnessing the world around them with outstanding passion. and Abraham
Lincoln fought this war with an outstanding passion. According to Abraham Heschel, Prophets are
also the men whose image is our refuge in distress, and whose voice and vision sustain our faith.

Impact Of Dinosaurs Research Paper
Imagine dinosaurs roaming the Earth minding their own business. Imagine them looking up to see a
fiery, red ball of death. Imagine realizing that the blazing ball is an asteroid. Imagine it hitting the
ground and nothing can be seen. The dinosaurs didn t have to imagine that an asteroid was propelling
down at them. They experienced it. Scientists have studied and calculated everything to know about
the asteroid, the proof that it happened, what happened at the first impact, what resulted after the
impact, and the evidence of how life of the dinosaurs changed before and after the colossal collision
that eradicated the dinosaurs. The preponderance of evidence leaves little to no doubt that the
dinosaurs went extinct due to an enormous ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The dinosaurs were abundant at the end of the Cretaceous Period. There was no gradual decline of the
dinosaurs. During the time where there was no light, footprints of land dinosaurs were discovered. The
footprints showed that the dinosaurs were running away from something, more specifically a tsunami.
Scientists also found fossilized fish. The fish s gills were filled with the glass created from the
explosion. Because the fish s gills were filled with glass, means that the fish were alive and swimming
and inhaled the glass particles. The fish were the first known victims of the impact. Fish were crushed
under the sediment that the tsunamis picked up and brought towards land such as the Hells Creek
Formation. After the whole ordeal finished, there were a few dinosaurs still on the earth. The living
dinosaurs were few and far between. Even though a few dinosaurs were still alive, more than ninety
percent of all of them died in the inescapable night that followed the impact. It is believed that the
only reason some smaller dinosaurs survived is because they lived in habitable areas that did not
suffer extreme cooling like those that inhabited the equatorial

Malcom X Family Service Essay
The differences between the New Deal reformers and the child welfare workers who provided services
to Malcom X s family was that the child welfare workers were not providing adequate and equal
services to the family(Haley, 1996). Malcom X s stated that when the social worker came to their
home they were looked at as if they were not people . Even though Malcom X s family was receiving
some kind of service, to the eyesight of these people Malcom x s stated that they were just like things .
The social welfare system did not treated them with respect. The state welfare people were after the
Malcom X s and his brother and sister for placement. Their purpose was not to keep together the

people were restrained of living in certain areas, when there was a particular situation or the child was

services to the Malcom X s family f they lack of sensitiveness and discriminated against them.
Furthermore, as time progresses, black children were place in institutions (Harley, 1996). For the state
welfare people it was much easier for them to remove the black children to these institutions than
bother to resolve their situations. The New Deal reformers were, new programs that were enacted in
the United States during the 1933 through 1938 these laws were passed by congress and the executive

Animals And Humans Have A Biological Stress Response
Animals and Humans have a biological stress response intended to facilitate survival in the case of a
life threatening attack or severe illness. This is commonly referred to the fight or flight response.
Some primates, including humans have developed the unhealthy propensity to trigger this response for
psychological or social reasons. Humans in particular experience the stress response exponentially
more often for psychological reasons than for the purpose of survival (Stress, 2008). For example, we
are may feel stressed out about work or school and if we think about it too much and get upset, we
may experience a stress response Just by thinking about something that is bothering us, we can trigger
the biological fight or flight ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The biological purpose of the stress response is to help the body to survive either some sort of attack
or a serious illness like a stroke or heart attack. During the stress response glucocorticoids divert the
bodies energy to the areas necessary for survival like the muscles and the brain and it shuts down the
areas that are not necessary for survival like the digestive and immune systems (Sopolsky, 2009).
Chronic Stress in this context, is to experience this physical effect on regular or long term basis. This
has become a public health issue for humans because we experience this chronic biological response
on a too frequent a basis for psychological reasons (Stress, 2008).
Psycho social stress can be anything psychological or social that causes us to feel upset. We can be
stressed out because of our job, or because of school, or because we are poor. We define what we react
to and how much time and energy we spend reacting to it. There are some people who have very
difficult lives, who do not experience stress in the same way others do (Myers, 2014). Sapolsky set out
to discover what psycho social factors could be indicators about who is more likely to experience a
stress response. Sopolskys research with primates with similar social structures to humans, revealed
that there are several

It symbolized that space travel is a challenging endeavor which bears it s own set of risks, especially when the entirety of the shuttle program was plagued with issues up until the Challenger incident. Initially, America put a ton of resources into the space program in order to achieve the goal of winning the Space Race. Once that goal was achieved, America s space program was scaled down to a fraction of the previous budget (space.com article). Out of the small budget, the shuttle program came into existence. During it s conception, various bedget cuts and Right at the dawn of the Space program, the Soviet Union had launched their first artificial satellite, Sputnik 1 [History channel]. Many Americans were fearful that the Soviet Union would be able to posses the ability to launch missiles from space[History Channel]. As a result of these fears, the US launched their own satellite and President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed a public order creating the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in 1958. In 1961, another blow was taken by the US space program when the Soviet Union launched the first manned spaceflight [History]. • 12. Compare Thomas Paine And Thoreau Civil Disobedience In the United States of America, individuals have always taken it upon themselves to write the wrong that they witness in society. This can be portrayed in both Thomas Paine s Common Sense, and Henry David Thoreau Civil Disobedience. Throughout history, as the times have changed so has individuals perception on government. Both authors existed at a different time in history, but they both convey a similar message that citizens should disobey government but their idea of government is completely different. Henry David Thoreau wrote Civil Disobedience, which is about him trying to persuade citizens that their obligation is to contravene and correct the unfair laws of the government. Thoreau begins Civil Disobedience with the view point That government is best which governs least Thomas Paine wrote Common Sense, to explain his vision of the ideal government, one where people vote and elect a person to run the country, which is similar to our democracy today( the great power of government be held in one elected legislature for the nation and one for each individual province ). He mainly criticizes Great Britain and how we need to break away and become our own country or government? After his writing went public and explaining what had happened between America and Great Britain, it was time for America to finally secede. Thoreau believed that individual integrity had the ability to triumph the government. Thoreau went to jail because he refused to pay his poll taxes for the past six years. Also, he protested against the Mexican war, and slavery, which also contributed to him going to jail and his views on the government. During his short period in jail he clarified that he did not dread it, and portrayed it as Traveling into a far country (964). Although, Paine thought that individual integrity was very indistinct and unreasonable. Paine considered his individual rights to be violated by the government... Since then, a wide variety of definitions have been applied to sepsis, including sepsis syndrome, severe sepsis, bacteremia, septicemia and septic shock In 1991, the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP) and the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) developed a new set of terms and definitions to define sepsis in a more precise manner [1, 2]. These definitions take into account the findings that sepsis may result from a multitude of infectious agents and microbial mediators and may not be associated with detectable bloodstream infection. According to the ACCP/SCCM defini tions, three stages in the hierarchy of the host s response to infection were recognized, namely, sepsis, severe sepsis and septic shock, with sepsis having the best prognosis and septic shock the worst. • 15. Analysis Of Etgar Keret sWhat Of This Goldfish Would You... It is usually a challenge to choose between the devil and the deep blue sea. Ordinarily, one has to consider one s values as well as preferred consequences in order to make the better or best choice. In the short story, What of This Goldfish, Would You Wish? by Etgar Keret, Sergei Goralick faced a similar conundrum. As an aloof Russian expatriate fisherman in Jaffa, Israel, his only company is a magic three wish granting fish. But having impulsively murdered Yonatan, Goralick had to decide whether to use his last wish to save the boy or keep his magic goldfish companion. Though he would have preferred the latter, Goralick made the better choice saving Yonatan as it matches his established humaneness and the consequences attached were more reasonable. Before he arrived at this decision, Gorelick considered covering up the murder to keep the fish. He said, Fixable... I ll just mop up the blood... When I m fishing,...I ll tie the kid to a rock and dump him in the sea. Not a chance, not in a million years, will anyone ever find him. ( lines 164 171) His stubbornness started surfacing, obstructing his sound reasoning. Goralick tried to find excuses in order not to use his last wish. For example, he said that he was saving it for something important.Goralick was ambivalent.Whilst suggesting this, he forgot how scared he was to even touch Yonatan s blood(lines 124 127). That along with his statement, He can t be dead (110 113) proves that had he chosen otherwise, Goralick would have suffered from guilt. In fact, even the goldfish asserted, You killed him, Sergei, ... but you re not a murderer. ... If, on this, you won t waste a wish, then tell me, Sergei, what is it good for? Though what immediately happened after this question was skipped, one can infer that Sergei thought thoroughly during that time. He rightfully chose to save Yonatan. His actions such the uses of his first two wishes reveal his character traits. When he heard of the critical conditions of his sister and Sveta s boy respectively, he did not hesitate to use his first two wishes to save them respectively. However, the convoluted nature of happiness leads people to strive it through diverse ways; the obtainment of fame, nobility, ambition, glory, and beauty are all regarded as objectives of happiness. In the Consolation of Philosophy, Boethius refines his understanding of happiness through the guide from Lady Philosophy. He changes his recognition of happiness from mundane accomplishments to interior and instinctive superior goodness by God. The important factor influencing the transformation of Boethius is how Lady Philosophy defines happiness: it is a sufficient and independent state in which people draw satisfaction from something cannot be taken ... Clearly, at this stage, Boethius blames the inconsistent fortune for his loss instead of finding the true interior reasoning forcing his adversity. The previous stage when he is wealthy and powerful still reminds him of his vanity and fame, and he believes those qualities as factors of happiness. His current understanding of happiness is shallow and meaningless, and this stage indicates a Boethius full of folly and waiting the correction of his mind to approach better goodness. Boethius feels unjustifiable about the charges and accusations people put on him, a situation in which he feels that wicked men do harm to virtuous men . The more lamented he becomes, the more indicative of his anger and desperation. However, anger expresses helplessness, and desperation illustrates fear in his heart. Boethius, even after losing freedom in the jail, still tenaciously values his previous wealth and glory greatly. Boethius bemoans his tragedy and feels extremely sorrowful about the current loss he just confronts. On the contrary, what Boethius does not realize is that happiness should be constant, inflexible and unable to be taken away, and because his wealth and glory are constantly changing, so Boethius does not pursue the ultimate happiness but is tempted by temporary satisfaction and ... One example for this is that the action takes places within a short period of time, which is quite precisely two weeks, and the place of action doesn t change; it only plays on the farm. You could also say that the story features an important and critical moment in Mamzelle Aurélie s life and that there are just a few characters. Another very important aspect is the symbol used in this short story. I suppose it is justified to say that the children are the symbol uniting all different aspects in the story. Before Mamzelle Aurélie had to keep the children she was leading a very lonely life. As the children were living with her, her life got a sense and she became a happy person. But after they left her she realized that she wasted her whole life and regrets everything. Through those children all the different themes of the story like family or loneliness come together. Now this is the one hand, but on the other several typical aspects of a short story aren t part of the text. Already at the beginning of the story we get to know a lot about the main character what gives you the impression of an introduction. Additionally Mamzelle Aurélie isn t really an everyday person. The story of the Rwandan Genocide is one of a great divide between the Hutu and Tutsi people. However, there was no real reason for this division to come to fruition. However, in Rwanda, the colonialists did not directly incite a genocide, but instead left the nation in an extremely divided state, that lead to the genocide. This difference is caused by the fact that they were settled in different ways (Pappé, 2008). North America was settled through settler colonialism, in which the settlers took over the government entirely and became the dominant population. Rwanda was settled through elite colonialism, so that only political elites from Belgium and Germany lived in the region, and left the prior governmental institutions in place. As a result, there was less conflict between the native population and the colonialists, because they were so hands off. Prior to the onset of the genocide, the Hutus and Tutsis lived relatively in harmony. Although some historians would like to simplify their original exchanges as merely peaceful and democratic, this is not the case. Attorney Client Privilege Case Study In the United States, the doctrine of attorney client privilege developed as a result of two major influences: A treatise published by Professor John Wigmore, and the United States Supreme Court.1 Professor Wigmore published his elements of the attorney client privilege and they are as follows: (1) Where legal advice of any kind is sought (2) from a professional legal advisor in his capacity as such, (3) the communications relating to that purpose, (4) made in confidence, (5) by the client, (6) are at his instance permanently protected (7) from disclosure by himself or by the legal advisor, (8) except the protection be waived. 2 The United States Supreme Court has also dramatically influenced the doctrine of attorney client privilege.3 The court s case law dealing with attorney client privilege has largely reflected and expanded upon Professor Wigmore s concepts.4 And from early on in the Supreme Court s history, the Court recognized the importance of the attorney client privilege5. Although, in general, a sufficient number of sensors are used to ensure a certain degree of redundancy in coverage, a good sensor deployment method is still necessary to balance the workload of sensors in target area. In a sensor network sensors can move around to self deploy. The deployment deals with moving sensors from an initial unbalanced state to balanced state. Therefore, several optimization problems can be defined to minimize different parameters such as total moving distance, number of moves, communication cost. There is a unique problem called communication holes in sensor networks, areas not covered by any node. In this paper, we will work mainly to detect and remove communication hole in a heterogeneous wireless sensor network. For this we will study the existing techniques. Finding an efficient deployment that modifies the existing techniques. Keywords Wireless sensor networks, load balance, sensor deployment, holes. I.
