The Hobbit, Or There And Back Again Essay
The Hobbit, or There and Back Again, is a high fantasy novel written by JRR Tolkien and published in
the year 1937. Spanning a proper 300 pages it contains an adventure of grand proportions; detailing
the exploits of one Bilbo Baggins and his attempts in aiding a band of 13 dwarves to reclaim a lost
treasure. Although commonly intended for a child audience, The Hobbit does include subtle hints of
adult like themes and motifs such as conflict between different races and the corrupting factor of
wealth. Tolkien has been accredited as the father of modern high fantasy for his The Lord of the Rings
trilogy of which The Hobbit is a prequel.
Furthermore it is crucial to know of Joseph Campbell and his ideas of the monomyth. The late Joseph
Campbell was described as an American mythologist having laid the groundwork in both
contemporary comparative mythology and comparative religion. Campbell s work is extensive and
intersects many attributes of the human experience. It is distinctly Campbell s efforts in generating his
monomyth concept which interest many today. The monomyth concept recognizes all myth based
works as being a ploy on one form or original story. This is due to common patterns incorporated in a
vast majority of myth based works inattentive of time and place of origin. This original story
incorporates a hero s call to adventure, his or hers crossing of a threshold, their dealings within a
climax and or final battle followed by their return.

Evaluation Of A Project On Training Curriculum Development
I. INTRODUCTION
This capstone project literature review intends among others things, to refine the research ideas,
demonstrate awareness of the current state of knowledge on training curriculum development, its
limitations and how the research fits in the context of a learning organization.
This research process makes a good starting point for the capstone project. The research uses evidence
from conceptual theories to database research literature from several learning organizations training
development methodologies. Booth, W. C., Colomb, G. G., Williams, J. M. (2008) pointed out that
one good source is worth more than dozens of mediocre sources.

A system is an interconnected set of elements that is coherently organized in a way that achieves
something. If you look at the definition closely for a minute, you can see that a system must consist of
three kinds of things: elements, interconnections and a function or purpose. (Meadows. D, 2009).
Others have come up with similar definitions of systems, including: Senge (2012) suggested that the
discipline of systems thinking is useful for seeing and understanding wholes, interrelations and change
patterns. Second is roundtable theory which is a shared leadership theory for school change. Gabriele
(2002) explained that involving stakeholders in the decision making process through shared leadership
can lead to higher levels of commitment. Lastly Argyris and Schon (1978) argued that organizational
learning was critical to an organization s survival. They argued that Double Loop learning was the
most effective way of making informed decisions about the way we design and carry out the action in
achieving organization learning.
The following section list publications that are areas of strength as it relates to system thinking in
organization development:

Famous Thinkers Essay
When looking at history and try to discover famous thinkers in our society, many men and women
stand out. Famous thinkers are people who used critical thinking and perseverance to overcome
adversity to succeed. The two that stand out in my mind are Bill Gates and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Lets discuss their contributions to society as a whole, the problems or issues that they resolved, and
how they were able to come up with their solutions.
Contributions to Society
Self made multi billionaire, entrepreneur and philanthropist Bill Gates was born in Seattle,
Washington in 1955. We recognize the name Bill Gates; it is hard not to be famous when you are the
richest self made man in America. The contributions to society made by Mr. Gates ... Show more

Despite his efforts to promote equality for all American s, Dr. King lost his life to an assassin in
Tennessee in 1968. (Martin Luther King Jr., 2011). Dr. King makes insightful and uncannily prescient
pronouncements about the nature of capitalism and communism, a quarter of a century before the
demise of the Soviet Union. Dr Martin, L. K.,Jr. (1992, Jan 20).
Personal Environments
Bill Gates first took an interest in computer programming when he was 13 years old, while attending
school. The school used funds from sales and donations and was able to purchase the students an ASR
33 Teletype terminal and computer time on a General Electric computer terminal. Bill, instantly
intrigued, was able to get excused from his regular classes to work with the computer. Bill, then,
gained his interest in computer programming. He was able to develop a program where the students
could play the computer in a game of tic tac toe. This was the beginning of Bill Gates career (Bill
Gates, 2011).
Bill Gates mother, Mary had devoted most of her time working with charities and civil affairs
organizations, the most popular name being United Way. She would bring Bill with her on many
volunteer missions. Bill Gates would grow up to follow her example, only he would have the money
to donate and even create his own organizations and foundations (Bill Gates, 2011).
Dr. King was born into the southern black ministry, in particular the southern Baptist. While attending

Symbolism In St George And The Dragon
Known from legend, St. George is the knight who is told to have slain a dragon in Libya to save a
young woman, generally known as holding the title of princess, as expressed in Raphael s painting St.
George and the Dragon. In this oil painting, the dragon is seemingly the embodiment of evil in the
town while St. George is the knight that risks his life to slay and rid of the evil within the town in a
somewhat chivalrous manner. In St. George and the Dragon, Raphael expresses Christianity combined
with chivalry in his painting through the use of small details, symbolic representations, contrast,
human figures, and the depiction of these human figures and or characters. Raphael could have done
this due to the rise of Christianity in the Renaissance era and chivalry in art at the time.
The expression of Christianity can be represented through symbolism, color, and the details of
Raphael s painting. The dragon can be seen as symbolic of the Devil in Christianity and in turn St.
George slaying the dragon can be represented as the destruction of the Devil and all evil within that
setting. The color of the dragon is dark and is viciously drawn which contrasts with the white and
seemingly lightness of St. George s horse that brings out the good and evil within the painting. This
corresponds with Christianity as the Devil is normally depicted as dark and cruel compared to the
white that represents purity of those who are righteous. Continuing on with the darkness of the dragon,

Mrs. Dalloway By Virginia Woolf
In the book Mrs. Dalloway, by Virginia Woolf, it is evident that the main character, Clarissa Dalloway,
double persona is Septimus Smith. While Clarissa proves to be more rational, Septimus is irrational.
Clarissa shows optimism with her life and finding her true identity while Septimus is someone who
experiencing insanity and madness. Although she never meets him and their lives are vastly different,
the two characters actually mirror each other. Clarissa and Septimus share many characteristics and
think in similar manners. Septimus serves as a contrast between the veteran working class and upper
class. Throughout the book, Septimus thoughts parallel Clarissa s and can be seen as an echo in some
ways. This illustrates how the line between sanity and insanity can become blurred. Both characters
have similar experiences, but how they go about interpreting them and finding deeper meaning about
it differ because of their different personalities and experiences. Clarissa and Septimus heavily think
about their past memories and events. The memories cause them both to contemplate how the
experiences changed and impacted their life. Clarissa s memories of her past thinking about her
friends make her want to think deeply about the past and get swept up in the feelings with her
thoughts. When Clarissa is in St. James Park, she feels the wind and freeness associated with it as she
recalls memories of Peter Walsh, her former lover. Walking she reminisces: If he were with me now

The Uplifting Tale of Today Will Be a Quiet Day Essay...
The Uplifting Tale of Today Will Be a Quiet Day
Some readers see death, but when I read the story Today Will Be a Quiet Day by Amy Hempel, I find
it to be a light hearted, first hand account of people coping with transition. Even its location in the
table of contents under the heading Childhood and Adolescent (Barnet), implies that the story is not
about death at all. A newly defined family, one man, a boy and a girl, is faced with the aftermath of
divorce and explore among themselves the intricacies of life. The story gives us sublime but keen
insight into the transition and adjustments these three people make in this story.
The children s transition is marked by a rivalry, one that surfaces early on in the story and ... Show

There are many inferences to what it is like stepping into the life of a parent you don t live with but
once or twice a month.
This new family is only new in the sense of the father s having questions and doubts. Whether he
doubts his ability to read his children or has been absent too long is not indicated, but clearly this
family seems to be redefining their old relationship. The children handle it a bit differently by
speaking of topics that are old news (such as the boy s friend s suicide), telling jokes, and in the case
of the older sister, showing independence and maturity in deciding to drive her brother and father
home.
Sylvan Barnet comments that the father may be feeling that he may not know his children (1206). As
the story progresses the father gets his answers as many parents would in real life. The father is an
active listener and interrupts, defends or morbidly participates in the fun of his children s
conversation. At times he is reminded of how well he knows his children when he again looses his
appetite watching them eat fast. And once more when he quips, Who would adopt you? This means
that he is stuck with these wonderful children and they are stuck with him.
One of the more poignant moments in the story is when the daughter comes to realize her gullibility in
believing the family dog had escaped death to live a long happy life on a farm (Barnet 1205). It is
important to realize that this new little family is taking care of

Ignominy in the Puritan Community
Yonatan Zeff Thelonious Johnson Block B English 3 Honors October 14, 2012 Ignominy in the
Puritan Community The title of Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter refers to the literal symbol
of ignominy that Hester Prynne s community forces her to wear as a reminder of her sin. Though the
word ignominy is used in sympathetic passages that describe Hester Prynne s disgrace as an adulteress
and out of wedlock mother, its use at the same time reveals an extremely critical description of Hester
s community; Hawthorne finds that what is truly disgraceful is the way the community relishes and
exploits the opportunity to punish one of its members. Through powerful diction and imagery
describing Hester s sin and through ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With this description, Hester s humanity is maintained, even when the community, all of it, objectifies
her as a teaching tool. The image of her heart flung , spurn[ed] and trample[d] upon demonstrates both
the narrator s sympathy toward Hester and animosity toward Puritan society, regardless of the age of
the member. Shortly after his description of the schoolboy s callous treatment of Hester, the narrator
continues with a harsh account of the scaffold and pillory once employed upon it, that instrument of
discipline that represented the very ideal of ignominy (52). The pillory reflects the nature of the
community s sense of justice, and the narrator finds it extremely harsh. The word ideal, often
associated with perfection, suggests that the pillory signifies the ultimate desired effect of ignominy:
public shame from which the sinner cannot turn away. Next, it would seem that Hawthorne speaks out
directly and emotionally to the reader, declaring, There can be no outrage, methinks, against our
common nature, whatever be the delinquencies of the individual, no outrage more flagrant than to
forbid the culprit to hide his face for shame (52). Hawthorn s use of word methinks suggests his
forceful personal address on this issue of cruelty; he weighs in powerfully against the malice of the
Pilgrim community that punishes Hester, even if it has not subjected her to the pillory. The word no
implies Hawthorne s view that this punishment is

Saint Appolinare Analysis
Saint Appolinare is the largest figure within the piece and is standing directly over the alter and below
the massive cross. The gold jewel encrusted cross is contained within a bright blue circle dotted with
gold stars. The green background is filled with plants, shrubs and trees all of which are coloured in
varying shades of green.
The green background is used to highlight and contrast the white sheep and Saint Apollinare. Most of
the sheep and the saint occupy a the same ground level and plane. Unlike the mosaic of Christ the
good Shepard the the mosaic of Appolinare is flat and without depth or shading. The piece does
exhibit the use of limited overlapping as observed in the legs of the sheep. This overlapping is similar
to the observed technique used on ancient Babylonian art. One could postulate that this is a de
evolving of style and a refinement of the message from the church.

strategy of keeping people within their influence. The change in message from acceptance to that of
fear, was a calculated decision, based upon a need to stay relevant and in control.
The pantokrator is also a dichotic message perpetrated by the church. I believe, the illiteracy of the
congregation was purposeful as it limited access to the original message within the bible. Limiting
access afforded the leaders of the church greater mobility in steering the congregation towards their
desired goals. Christ the Pantokrator is direct evidence of the liberties taken by the establishment in

Real Estate Property Pros And Cons
Real Estate Property Rights As Americans, we are able to purchase homes and become homeowners
without having to request permission to do so. It is the American dream to own a real estate and make
it a home for the family. As homeowners, a person has the right to do whatever they desire to the
property at any time as long as it is not against any law, local ordinance and in some cases, a
regulations set forth by a community association. In addition to homeowner being able to do what they
would like to the home, there are also ownership rights. The homeowner has the right of possession,
control, quiet enjoyment, and disposition (Carey, B., Larsen, J.E., Eldred, G.W., 2016, p. 7).
Right of Possession
Whoever holds the title, owns the property. The title and deed validates ownership and along with
ownership comes the right of possession, within legal limitations (Carey, B., Larsen, J.E., Eldred,
G.W., 2016, p. 7). One of the pros of owning property is that the homeowner has the right to occupy
the property and use it as they so desire. According to Carey, Larsen and Eldred, this includes the right
to keep all others from coming on your property without your permission (trespassing) (Carey, B.,
Larsen, J.E., Eldred, G.W., 2016, p. 7). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

A Classroom Interaction Of Student And Faculty
ABSTRACT
In this project, we overcome the disadvantages of Traditional Classroom interaction of student and
faculty. The Virtual Classroom System replaces the manual system with online Interactive Classroom
using Java. What we are doing is actually defining a portal of social interaction where students can ask
questions and various teachers of that particular subject can answer. A discussion can also be started
about a particular topic with interaction coming in from various students and teachers.
In Virtual Classroom System the students and faculty need not be present physically, the questions will
allowed to put up in the form of text paragraph or images. All that one need is a PC or laptop. The
clients will be provided with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through Virtual Classroom various video lectures can be put up, queries and questions can be asked
and various doubts in the minds of the students can be cleared.
2. REQUIRMENT ANALYSIS:
The basic requirements for a Virtual Classroom is the user name and password given to all the faculty
and students. Once the respective person has logged in he/she can perform all the tasks that the person
is authorized to perform.
The project works in the following manner:
1) Faculty Registration before being able to deliver the lecture to the students, the faculty needs to
register with the system.
2) Student Registration to access the features of this application the student need to first register to the
system.
3) Live Chat: A Live chat is provided during the lecture so that students can raise their doubts on the
spot through the chat box.
4) Discussion Forum
Furthermore new features like Online Tests, Assignments can be given.
Through these procedures the classes can be made interactive, purposeful and fun.
3. SYSTEM ANALYSIS
3.1 MOTIVATION
The main motive behind Virtual Classroom is the less amount of time the students and faculty to
interact to each other. With the help of virtual classroom students will be able to ask questions any
time and get their doubts clear. Faculty can also use this platform to give assignments and quiz in real
time, and take online tests. This will save the time wasted on taking tests in the classroom.

Furthermore, she tells the readers of substitute techniques of achieving the same ends. The title of the
book is enough to make us understand that it was a hint of a spring season with no bird songs painting
our atmosphere meaning that all birds had vanished due to misuse of pesticides.

Carson lets us know that people are a victim to daily chemical poisoning in even minute doses. She
goes into the very details of domestic appliances and necessities. Carson talks about many things that

Graves disease
Causes, symptoms, and treatments by Mary Smith
Graves disease is an immune system disorder that results in the overproduction of hormones
(hyperthyroidism). Many disorders may be a result in hyperthyroidism, Graves disease is the most
common cause.
Thyroid hormones affect many different body systems, signs and symptoms associated with Graves
disease can wide ranging and can influence your over all wellbeing. Graves disease may affect
anyone, it s more common among women and before the age of 40. Primary treatment goals are to
inhibit the overproduction of thyroid hormones and lesson the severity of the symptoms. There are
numerous signs that allude to the presence of Graves disease, most notably is a large protruding bulb
associated with the thyroid gland (goiter), changes in the menstrual cycle, bulging eyes (Graves
ophthalmopathy), and less common is Graves demopathy, or thick, red skin usually found on the shins
or tops of the feet.
One of the most telling symptoms of Graves disease presents in about 30% of those diagnosed with
the condition is Graves ophthalmopathy. Graves ophthalmopathy refers to bulging of the eyes,
exophthalmos, a gritty sensation in the eyes, pressure and/or pain in the eyes, puffy or retracted eye
lids, reddened or inflamed eyes, sensitivity to light, double vision, or outright vision loss. While these
signs are strongly associated with Graves disease, the symptoms do not associate solely with the
condition.

Essay on Michelangelo Buornarriti
Michelangelo Buonarroti was one of the greatest artists of all time. Many people all over the world
throughout history have admired his work and he is possibly the most renowned artist of all time.
Michelangelo completed many artistic pieces during his lifetime, and he did them very beautifully and
in a very inspiring way. Michelangelo Buonarroti was born on March 6, 1475 in the city of Caprese,
Italy, just outside of Florence. Michelangelo s mother died in 1481 when he was at an early age.
Because of this and the fact that his father was governor of his village, Michelangelo was sent to live
in the home of a stonecutter. His family then moved to Florence, Italy. At the age of ten, Michelangelo

In 1492, when Michelangelo was 17 years old, Lorenzo died and the school broke up. After Lorenzo s
death, Michelangelo worked mainly independently for rulers and religious leaders in Italy. His first
commission was for three marble figures for the tomb of St. Dominic in 1494. Michelangelo left
Florence and fled to Bologna before Charles VIII invaded Florence. It was here in Bologna that
Michelangelo carved an angle for the tomb. He returned to Florence for a short time in 1495 and
carved the Cupid and a St. John. On June 25 of the following year, Cardinal Riario invited
Michelangelo to Rome. It is here that Michelangelo gained recognition. In 1497, he carved the
drunken Bacchus, which is one of the two first important pieces in his career. The next year he carved
his second marble figure called The Pieta for St. Peter s Cathedral. The Pieta was a beautifully carved
and finished statue of the dead Jesus lying across Mary s lap. Many consider it the greatest work of his
early years. Michelangelo created a sculpture so complex and difficult at the age of only 24 that many
artists could never figure out how he did it. On August 16 of 1501, he was commissioned to complete
a sculpture to stand in the Piazza Della Signora. The city of Florence gave Michelangelo a huge block

Some Of Common Misconceptions In Lullaby By Leslie Marrman...
1.)What are some of the common misconceptions about indigenous writers? In what ways do the
writers we ve read play on those stereotypes? Some of the common misconceptions is that indigenous
writers are that they could not speak English, uneducated, all lived in teepees, and their medicine was
primitive. The writers that we have read about dealt with these stereotypes was by including hints and
lines that these stereotypes are false. Lullaby by Leslie Marmon Silko has a line about where the
Indians stayed showing that they did not live in teepees. In this story they lived in a boxcar shack
where the rancher let the Indians live (pg 1545). Pawn Shop by Sherman Alexie is a very short work
that demonstrates that Indians are civilized. The man in the story goes into a bar looking for all of his
friends but can not find them so he leaves after the bartender gives him a free drink for all of his
troubles. I leave, searching the streets, searching storefronts, until I walk into a pawn shop, find a
single heart beating under glass, and I know who it used to belong to, I know all of them (pg 1647).
This works demonstrates that Indians are just like normal people who go to shops, bars, and lose
people along the way that they miss dearly. 2.) Select one writer and write an extended reader
response to his/her work. Why did you like/dislike the work? Why? Lullaby by Leslie Marmon Silko
is a work that is depressing. There is real truth within it but it is saddening. The beginning of the story
a woman is remembering happier times and her family members. Jimmie, which I was not able to
identify the relationship between the women and Jimmie was being remembered and thought upon by
the women. She realizes that she should not dwell on him since he is not dead. Yet, one day a dark
blue sedan with white writing on its doors pulled up in front of the boxcar shack where the rancher let
the Indians live. A man in a khaki uniform trimmed in gold gave then a yellow piece of paper and told

Why Elephants Are Scared Of Mice
Why Elephants Are Scared of Mice
Thousands of years ago in Africa, elephants roamed the Earth without a single worry. Their immense
size and strength had caused them to develop exaggerated pride, overconfidence and the belief that
they were superior to all other creatures. George in particular, was no exception. He was more
egotistic and arrogant than the entire elephant race combined. George only allowed the others to refer
to himself as Master George and was incredibly irritated when smaller creatures would even glance at
him without proper deference.
Due to physical weakness and miniature size, most field mice had grown completely obedient,
cowardly and feeble in character. Elephants such as George would often bully, hurt or even ... Show

George the elephant was of the opinion that he there was nobody as attractive or intelligent as himself.
For this reason he presumed that it was a waste of time for him to meet other female elephants to build
a family with. Therefore, George s only task was to find water for himself. Pedro on the other hand,
had recently encountered a stunning female mouse who he cared for a great deal. Although he was
challenged to find enough water for two beings, his size was finally an advantage due to the fact that
mice required less water than larger creatures.
After hours of searching for even the smallest bodies of water, Pedro eventually came across a
sizeable puddle. His hard work had payed off; he was ready to return home to provide water to his
partner. However, in order to continue his journey, Pedro needed several gulps of water himself. As
Pedro drank blissfully, he noticed a large silhouette approaching the puddle. He could recognize this
creature anywhere. It was an elephant.
It didn t take George a long time to discover puddles that had not yet dried. George only needed to
stand on his hind legs to see all the bodies of water around. He would then walk towards the pond, and
proceed to use his long trunk to suck up the remaining water. After having used his methods on four
different puddles, George casually strolled in the direction of the fifth. He was about to begin
consuming the water, when he

Accuracy Of Eyewitness Testimony
Introduction
Eyewitness testimony has been used as an important tool in the criminal justice system. When there is
lack of other kinds of evidence, police often rely on eyewitness to find potential suspects. In court,
eyewitness testimony is a kind of important evidence associates with DNA or other types of evidence.
However, many psychologists think that it should not be used in the criminal justice system as most of
the wrongful convictions were caused by inaccurate eyewitness testimony.
Although eyewitness testimony is not always accurate, the criminal justice system can evaluate the
accuracy through some factors and make it a more useful tool. Three main factors will be discussed in
this essay, which are confidence of eyewitness, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The accuracy rate was high, and the other two groups showed similar results. In the self rate interview
group, 96% and 98% in the interviewer rate interview group. The result confirms that the witness s
confidence can be used to infer accuracy. And interviewer may increase their confidence. While
interviewing by person, participants might think that they were considered a good eyewitness and
good eyewitness supposed to give the right details. Therefore, they have more confidence in
themselves and are more likely to do better than completing the task on papers. Another study was
conduct by Short and Dalby (2007) to support this theory. 106 participants completed the study by
watching a videotape and identifying the suspect in the photo line up. The video showed a man
stealing a lady s purse in a hair salon. At the end, they rated their confidence from 1 7 (low high). In
this study, only 32% of the participants correctly identified the culprit. These participants had an
average of 5.3 when they rated the confidence level, while participants who made inaccurate
identification only had an average of 4.9. That means participants who gave the correct answers had
high confidence in themselves. When evaluating the accuracy of eyewitness testimony, eyewitness s
confidence can be considered in court, accompany with the other two important factors which will be
discussed later.

Boeing Brief History
History
Looking at the brief history of Boeing, the company was first founded in Puget Sound, Washington in
1916 by William Edward Boeing.
After sucessfully selling military aircrafts adapted for troop transportation in the 1950 s and
introducing commercial aircrafts model 707, 727 followed by 737, Boeing has since then become a
leading producer of military commercial aircraft.
After a few number of mergers acquisitions to become the world s largest, most diversified aerospace
company, Boeing enterprise now include: North American Aviation, McDonnell Douglas, Rockwell

This may act as a barrier of entry for potential new entrants. Illustrating the third force which is Power

There are only 3 main competitors in the commercial jet engine making industry which operates as an
oligopoly. Historically, all of these companies have competed with each other for jet engine contracts
which led to intense price wars. To avert ruinous price wars, these companies typically enter into
exclusive supplier contracts with aircraft manufacturers. In such arrangements, the engine maker
becomes the sole provider of jet engines for a specific aircraft model.
In addition, the big jet engine makers give heavily discounted price, partly to lock in lucrative long
term replacement parts, repairs and maintenace business, thereby reducing the power of these jet
engine makers.
On the other hand, for the power of customers,
Airlines usually buy new jets under long term fixed price contracts. This effectively shifts the financial

What Is Listening Skills
Opted skill: Listening skill(s)
Before we start off with the activities, we need to know what the word listening means. Harmer (2001,
p.228) viewed listening as a fundamental language skill. It provides the perfect opportunity to hear
voices other than the teacher s, enable students to acquire good speaking habits as a result of the
spoken English they absorb, and helps to improve their own pronunciation .
Learning of foreign language rely on four basic skills which can be classified into receptive and
productive skills. Listening and reading comes under receptive whereas writing and speaking comes
under productive. In language learning, out of the four skills, listening stands to be as one of the most
important skill. It is also accounted as a Cinderella skill. Environment plays ... Show more content on

Propionibacterium species are gram positive anaerobic bacilli. These species are part of the normal

are: clindamycin, macrolides (e.g. erythromycin) and tetracyclines (5). However, increasing resistance

replace some technique with new technique like we replaced convergent encryption by AES
encryption. We eliminate some steps that are not necessary to be there. That will help to reduce
execution time. Mainly we made three changes in our proposed architecture: 1. We use AES
encryption in place of convergent encryption. 2. We eliminate secret key encryption between server
and metadata manager. 3. We proposed to check duplication at starting stage. In old architecture

So we eliminate one secret encryption layer that was present between server and metadata manager.
System takes so much time every time to check integrity and address of file because of that secret
encryption layer. So clearly this step will reduce execution time. And at last we check duplication at
starting stage. Now, there is no need to encrypt every data for integrity checking. This also eliminates
extra overload from system. 5.2 COMPONENTS: In this section we describe the role of each
component. A. User The role of the user is limited to uploading files to the system, encrypting them
with the AES encryption technique, signing the resulting encrypted files and creating the
storagerequest. In addition, the user also generates the key to AES system by his ID and PASSWORD.
It works as file identifier to the system. For each file, this key will be used to decrypt and re build the
file when it will be retrieved. Instead, thefile identifier is necessary to univocally identify a file
overthe whole system. Finally, the user also signs each files with a special signature scheme. In order
not to apply costly signatureoperations for the file, for all it adds owner name to a separate MM. The
main architecture is illustrated in Fig. 5.1. B. Server The server has three main roles: authenticating
users duringthe storage/retrieval request, performing access control byverifying block signatures
embedded in the data, encrypting/decrypting data traveling from users to the cloud

Life In Ancient Egypt
I chose Egypt for my report, first I will start off with Egyptian life.
The Egyptians lives were normally all based on the Nile River, they depended very much so on it.
Once it would flood this meant they were wealthy with the land again. The Egyptians would grow
their own crops, if they could not grow a certain crop that they wanted they would go to the villages
and trade what they had grown with someone for what crop they wanted. Ancient Egypt population
solely consisted of nobles, craftsmen, and farmers. Egyptians also had board games and it did not
make a difference what class you belonged to, you could play if you were poor or a pharaoh which
made this popular during this time.

would be exposed. They soon discovered the dead that were being buried in the coffins did not look

once again. First they would wash the dead body with wine then once finished wash the wine off with
water from the Nile, because that was their only water source at the time. Then they would remove the
insides by cutting the body on its left side. They would then remove the intestines, lungs, stomach, and
liver then wrap each individually with natron which would dry each piece up, once finished they
would go through the nose with a stick and break the brain apart so they then could pull it out from the
nose. Then they would cover the body and stuff it with natron, 40 days passed and now it was time to
wash the body one last time and rub it with oils. Last they put the insides they had taken outback in
the body and it is now ready to be

Monopoly Is A Board Game
Monopoly has been known as possibly one of the most known board games of all time. Monopoly is a
board game in which players try to enrich themselves by developing Atlantic City, New Jersey, real

with a group of people to make it more enjoyable. Millions of people around the world know of and
play Monopoly. It has evolved over several years and other versions have been created over several
years. Monopoly has been known as one of the best board games ever created because of the history

Monopoly has developed from the Landlord s Game to Monopoly. The original purpose of was to
show how Henry George s system of political economy would work in real life (Dodson). One of the
first versions of the game featured a path that allowed players to circle the board, in contrast to the
linear path design used by many games at the time (Mary Pilon). After Magie made the game, it
become very well liked, so she decided to make another version and patent it. This new version had
named streets and other appearance changes such as a rectangular board (Edward J. Dodson). A few
years later, by the late 1920s, Magie and the creators changed the design by gathering the properties
into groups, allowing buildings to be added to the locations and increasing the amount of rent charged
based on the number of properties owned. In 1934, Charles B. Darrow, developed his own game for
public release and used the streets of Atlantic City, New Jersey (Galley and Briavel). This was later
known as Monopoly. As soon as he created the game, he offered to sell the board game to the Parker
brothers that same year, but they were not interested. A year later in 1935, they changed their thoughts
and purchased the company (Matthew Horton). The game was officially and continues to be owned by
the Parker brothers. Monopoly has developed in several different ways and during this process,
different versions of the game have been created.

Body Checking In Hockey Alberta
Body checking has been a controversial topic throughout these years in minor hockey across Canada.
Although the majority of people agree that it should be banned, others disagree. As Hockey Alberta,
one of Canada s largest associations, first announced to ban body check at Peewee levels. This include
players between 11 and 12 years old. It later extends to Midget and Bantam levels as well. The reason
for the ban is because these kids suffer from injuries, especially in concussions. This has led to the
concern of parents on whether they should allow their kids to continue to play in minor hockey. As
Rob Virgil, Hockey Alberta s board chairman made the announcement on the elimination if body

Studies from both academic and non academic has proven that injuries is a problem in minor hockey.
Although this may turn hockey into a different game, it takes consideration of children s safety. Since
their body strength has not been developed fully, injuries such as concussions can lead to sequelae.
This will highly affect their childhood, especially for children in Canada where they are proud to play
hockey. As a result, it is rational that Hockey Canada and other organizations should ban body
checking in minor hockey. Besides, studies have constantly revealed that body checking is the primary
cause of injuries among minor hockey especially concussions. As soon as organizations such as the
Hockey Association in Alberta started to realize the seriousness of body checking in minor hockey, the
rate of injuries have significantly decrease. By now, the ban of body checking among Pewee, Bantam
and Midget levels have reduce the risks of injury and concussion substantially. It has result a clear
benefit for youth players suffering from injuries. Besides, proper education should be coached and
executed properly in making reference to the 4 steps Progression Model. This can ensure less injuries
being caused. Thus, bodychecking should be eliminated from minor hockey and the age at which it is
introduced in competitive hockey leagues should be reconsidered. Hockey associations may have to

The True Benefits Of Wolves
For centuries, wolves have been regarded as the enemy. Whether from fairy tales like the three little
pigs, to little red riding hood, people constantly loathe them. Why is this? You see, it is human nature
to look for a common enemy. Unfortunately, wolves are seen as that enemy. Nevertheless, despite the
negative images in the media and mass wolf culls, they keep on persisting. By killing wolves, we are
damaging our environment and disrupting the natural cohesion that has been established between
wolves and lower members of the food chain. Wolves are believed to be responsible for the majority

Because of this, the ungulate populations began to increase dramatically. This caused a decrease in
vegetation due to the larger herbivores consuming a large amount of it. According to Reagan Downey,
an educator at the Wolf Conservation Center, the effects were devastating, stating, You cannot eat in
one area and stay there the entire day, because there s always the chance that something s going to try
and eat you. However, without wolves in Yellowstone, elk could just stay there and so they would eat
until all of the vegetation was gone. In addition, when nothing was left, they would move to a new
area. Therefore, the landscape became very flat and very barren because nothing was there. Because
the elk ate the vegetation, many animals were losing out on being able to eat as well because the elk
were growing in number. So it caused other animals to move out and die, The effects of no wolves in
the area was, in the long run, extremely unhealthy for the ecosystem of Yellowstone National Park. In
January of 1995, United States and Canadian officials captured fourteen wolves and released them
back into Yellowstone. An additional seventeen wolves were captured and released into Yellowstone
in January of 1996, effectively bringing the ecosystem back into balance. After this happened, the
ungulate population naturally declined back to healthy numbers, the vegetation increased, and the
animals who were low on the food chain finally had a stable place to

The Influence Of Impressionism
Impressionist art, in its spectacular focus on atmosphere and the elusively delicate movement of light
and air, such as Monet s ethereal Vetheuil in the Fog (1879), was innovative, going against everything
taught as traditional and proper by the Salon authority. We see artists such as Manet defying artistic
traditions with racy confrontation in Le déjeuner sur l herbe (1863), and impressions of modern
middle class life, rather than historical figures, as we see in Cassett s At the Opera (1880).
Impressionists captured instants in time in the lives of the middle class people, rather than the classical

Why Is Fingerprints Important
Fingerprints are detailed, difficult to alter, and permanent over the life of a person, which makes them
suitable as a long term identifier of an individual. They also can be used to identify people who are
deceased in the aftermath of a crime. The recovery of fingerprints from a scene is an important part of
forensics in identifying a possible suspect. Blood is often found at various types of crime scenes, such
as homicide, assault, rape, robbery and burglary. Blood type can be an identifying factor to assist
investigators to narrow the search for a suspect. With DNA typing technologies, an individual
bloodstain can now be used to identify an individual of a crime or a suspect. Blood spatter can also be
used to identify which hand a person used during a stabbing, the direction of a shot and even the
distance of the shot from the victim.

Masculinity culture represents a preference towards high achievement, assertiveness, and material

Countries with masculinity culture such as Japan and Mexico value assertiveness and competitiveness.

Hofstede defined the culture as the collective programming of the mind which distinguishes the
members of one group from that another . His five types of cultural dimensions are the most popular
in many cultural area studies, include: (1) power distance; (2) individualism vs. collectivism; (3)
uncertainty avoidance; (4) masculinity vs. femininity; and (5) long term vs. short term orientation.
These dimensions offer an insight towards behaviors and standards in the cultural context which are
useful for many motivators to explore the people in different culture. The text suggested that countries
with high uncertainty avoidance will lead to more job security, whereas people with low uncertainty
avoidance (for example, U.S.) are motivated by new ideas and innovation. People with high power
distance are motivated by relationships between subordinates and their boss, while people with low
power distance are motivated by team work and relationships with their peers. On the other hand,
individuals from high individualism are motivated by opportunities and autonomy; collectivism (for
example, Japan) suggests that motivation should be done with group goals and support. Individuals
from high masculine culture are comfortable with the tradition and division of works and roles; in a
feminine culture, the motivators help people through flexible roles and work

  • 2. The Hobbit, Or There And Back Again Essay The Hobbit, or There and Back Again, is a high fantasy novel written by JRR Tolkien and published in the year 1937. Spanning a proper 300 pages it contains an adventure of grand proportions; detailing the exploits of one Bilbo Baggins and his attempts in aiding a band of 13 dwarves to reclaim a lost treasure. Although commonly intended for a child audience, The Hobbit does include subtle hints of adult like themes and motifs such as conflict between different races and the corrupting factor of wealth. Tolkien has been accredited as the father of modern high fantasy for his The Lord of the Rings trilogy of which The Hobbit is a prequel. Furthermore it is crucial to know of Joseph Campbell and his ideas of the monomyth. The late Joseph Campbell was described as an American mythologist having laid the groundwork in both contemporary comparative mythology and comparative religion. Campbell s work is extensive and intersects many attributes of the human experience. It is distinctly Campbell s efforts in generating his monomyth concept which interest many today. The monomyth concept recognizes all myth based works as being a ploy on one form or original story. This is due to common patterns incorporated in a vast majority of myth based works inattentive of time and place of origin. This original story incorporates a hero s call to adventure, his or hers crossing of a threshold, their dealings within a climax and or final battle followed by their return. Amongst the ... • 3. Evaluation Of A Project On Training Curriculum Development I. INTRODUCTION This capstone project literature review intends among others things, to refine the research ideas, demonstrate awareness of the current state of knowledge on training curriculum development, its limitations and how the research fits in the context of a learning organization. This research process makes a good starting point for the capstone project. The research uses evidence from conceptual theories to database research literature from several learning organizations training development methodologies. Booth, W. C., Colomb, G. G., Williams, J. M. (2008) pointed out that one good source is worth more than dozens of mediocre sources. II. Describe a plan to collect and organize literature that uses systems, action ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A system is an interconnected set of elements that is coherently organized in a way that achieves something. If you look at the definition closely for a minute, you can see that a system must consist of three kinds of things: elements, interconnections and a function or purpose. (Meadows. D, 2009). Others have come up with similar definitions of systems, including: Senge (2012) suggested that the discipline of systems thinking is useful for seeing and understanding wholes, interrelations and change patterns. Second is roundtable theory which is a shared leadership theory for school change. Gabriele (2002) explained that involving stakeholders in the decision making process through shared leadership can lead to higher levels of commitment. Lastly Argyris and Schon (1978) argued that organizational learning was critical to an organization s survival. They argued that Double Loop learning was the most effective way of making informed decisions about the way we design and carry out the action in achieving organization learning. The following section list publications that are areas of strength as it relates to system thinking in organization development: 1. Jackson, M. C. (1992). Systems Methodology for the Management Sciences. New York: Plenum. 2. Laszlo, E., Laszlo, A. (1997). The Contribution of the Systems Sciences to the Humanities. • 4. Famous Thinkers Essay When looking at history and try to discover famous thinkers in our society, many men and women stand out. Famous thinkers are people who used critical thinking and perseverance to overcome adversity to succeed. The two that stand out in my mind are Bill Gates and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Lets discuss their contributions to society as a whole, the problems or issues that they resolved, and how they were able to come up with their solutions. Contributions to Society Self made multi billionaire, entrepreneur and philanthropist Bill Gates was born in Seattle, Washington in 1955. We recognize the name Bill Gates; it is hard not to be famous when you are the richest self made man in America. The contributions to society made by Mr. Gates ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Despite his efforts to promote equality for all American s, Dr. King lost his life to an assassin in Tennessee in 1968. (Martin Luther King Jr., 2011). Dr. King makes insightful and uncannily prescient pronouncements about the nature of capitalism and communism, a quarter of a century before the demise of the Soviet Union. Dr Martin, L. K.,Jr. (1992, Jan 20). Personal Environments Bill Gates first took an interest in computer programming when he was 13 years old, while attending school. The school used funds from sales and donations and was able to purchase the students an ASR 33 Teletype terminal and computer time on a General Electric computer terminal. Bill, instantly intrigued, was able to get excused from his regular classes to work with the computer. Bill, then, gained his interest in computer programming. He was able to develop a program where the students could play the computer in a game of tic tac toe. This was the beginning of Bill Gates career (Bill Gates, 2011). Bill Gates mother, Mary had devoted most of her time working with charities and civil affairs organizations, the most popular name being United Way. She would bring Bill with her on many volunteer missions. Bill Gates would grow up to follow her example, only he would have the money to donate and even create his own organizations and foundations (Bill Gates, 2011). • 5. Symbolism In St George And The Dragon Known from legend, St. George is the knight who is told to have slain a dragon in Libya to save a young woman, generally known as holding the title of princess, as expressed in Raphael s painting St. George and the Dragon. In this oil painting, the dragon is seemingly the embodiment of evil in the town while St. George is the knight that risks his life to slay and rid of the evil within the town in a somewhat chivalrous manner. In St. George and the Dragon, Raphael expresses Christianity combined with chivalry in his painting through the use of small details, symbolic representations, contrast, human figures, and the depiction of these human figures and or characters. Raphael could have done this due to the rise of Christianity in the Renaissance era and chivalry in art at the time. The expression of Christianity can be represented through symbolism, color, and the details of Raphael s painting. The dragon can be seen as symbolic of the Devil in Christianity and in turn St. George slaying the dragon can be represented as the destruction of the Devil and all evil within that setting. The color of the dragon is dark and is viciously drawn which contrasts with the white and seemingly lightness of St. George s horse that brings out the good and evil within the painting. • 6. Mrs. Dalloway By Virginia Woolf In the book Mrs. Dalloway, by Virginia Woolf, it is evident that the main character, Clarissa Dalloway, double persona is Septimus Smith. While Clarissa proves to be more rational, Septimus is irrational. Clarissa shows optimism with her life and finding her true identity while Septimus is someone who experiencing insanity and madness. Although she never meets him and their lives are vastly different, the two characters actually mirror each other. Clarissa and Septimus share many characteristics and think in similar manners. Septimus serves as a contrast between the veteran working class and upper class. Throughout the book, Septimus thoughts parallel Clarissa s and can be seen as an echo in some ways. This illustrates how the line between sanity and insanity can become blurred. Both characters have similar experiences, but how they go about interpreting them and finding deeper meaning about it differ because of their different personalities and experiences. Clarissa and Septimus heavily think about their past memories and events. The memories cause them both to contemplate how the experiences changed and impacted their life. Clarissa s memories of her past thinking about her friends make her want to think deeply about the past and get swept up in the feelings with her thoughts. • 7. The Uplifting Tale of Today Will Be a Quiet Day Essay... The Uplifting Tale of Today Will Be a Quiet Day Some readers see death, but when I read the story Today Will Be a Quiet Day by Amy Hempel, I find it to be a light hearted, first hand account of people coping with transition. Even its location in the table of contents under the heading Childhood and Adolescent (Barnet), implies that the story is not about death at all. A newly defined family, one man, a boy and a girl, is faced with the aftermath of divorce and explore among themselves the intricacies of life. The story gives us sublime but keen insight into the transition and adjustments these three people make in this story. The children s transition is marked by a rivalry, one that surfaces early on in the story and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are many inferences to what it is like stepping into the life of a parent you don t live with but once or twice a month. This new family is only new in the sense of the father s having questions and doubts. Whether he doubts his ability to read his children or has been absent too long is not indicated, but clearly this family seems to be redefining their old relationship. The children handle it a bit differently by speaking of topics that are old news (such as the boy s friend s suicide), telling jokes, and in the case of the older sister, showing independence and maturity in deciding to drive her brother and father home. Sylvan Barnet comments that the father may be feeling that he may not know his children (1206). As the story progresses the father gets his answers as many parents would in real life. The father is an active listener and interrupts, defends or morbidly participates in the fun of his children s conversation. At times he is reminded of how well he knows his children when he again looses his appetite watching them eat fast. And once more when he quips, Who would adopt you? This means that he is stuck with these wonderful children and they are stuck with him. One of the more poignant moments in the story is when the daughter comes to realize her gullibility in believing the family dog had escaped death to live a long happy life on a farm (Barnet 1205). • 8. Ignominy in the Puritan Community Yonatan Zeff Thelonious Johnson Block B English 3 Honors October 14, 2012 Ignominy in the Puritan Community The title of Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter refers to the literal symbol of ignominy that Hester Prynne s community forces her to wear as a reminder of her sin. Though the word ignominy is used in sympathetic passages that describe Hester Prynne s disgrace as an adulteress and out of wedlock mother, its use at the same time reveals an extremely critical description of Hester s community; Hawthorne finds that what is truly disgraceful is the way the community relishes and exploits the opportunity to punish one of its members. With this description, Hester s humanity is maintained, even when the community, all of it, objectifies her as a teaching tool. The image of her heart flung , spurn[ed] and trample[d] upon demonstrates both the narrator s sympathy toward Hester and animosity toward Puritan society, regardless of the age of the member. Shortly after his description of the schoolboy s callous treatment of Hester, the narrator continues with a harsh account of the scaffold and pillory once employed upon it, that instrument of discipline that represented the very ideal of ignominy (52). The pillory reflects the nature of the community s sense of justice, and the narrator finds it extremely harsh. The word ideal, often associated with perfection, suggests that the pillory signifies the ultimate desired effect of ignominy: public shame from which the sinner cannot turn away. Next, it would seem that Hawthorne speaks out directly and emotionally to the reader, declaring, There can be no outrage, methinks, against our common nature, whatever be the delinquencies of the individual, no outrage more flagrant than to forbid the culprit to hide his face for shame (52). Hawthorn s use of word methinks suggests his forceful personal address on this issue of cruelty; he weighs in powerfully against the malice of the Pilgrim community that punishes Hester, even if it has not subjected her to the pillory. The word no implies Hawthorne s view that this punishment is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The gold jewel encrusted cross is contained within a bright blue circle dotted with gold stars. The green background is filled with plants, shrubs and trees all of which are coloured in varying shades of green. The green background is used to highlight and contrast the white sheep and Saint Apollinare. Most of the sheep and the saint occupy a the same ground level and plane. Unlike the mosaic of Christ the good Shepard the the mosaic of Appolinare is flat and without depth or shading. The piece does exhibit the use of limited overlapping as observed in the legs of the sheep. This overlapping is similar to the observed technique used on ancient Babylonian art. • 21. Some Of Common Misconceptions In Lullaby By Leslie Marrman... 1.)What are some of the common misconceptions about indigenous writers? In what ways do the writers we ve read play on those stereotypes? Some of the common misconceptions is that indigenous writers are that they could not speak English, uneducated, all lived in teepees, and their medicine was primitive. The writers that we have read about dealt with these stereotypes was by including hints and lines that these stereotypes are false. Lullaby by Leslie Marmon Silko has a line about where the Indians stayed showing that they did not live in teepees. In this story they lived in a boxcar shack where the rancher let the Indians live (pg 1545). Pawn Shop by Sherman Alexie is a very short work that demonstrates that Indians are civilized. The man in the story goes into a bar looking for all of his friends but can not find them so he leaves after the bartender gives him a free drink for all of his troubles. I leave, searching the streets, searching storefronts, until I walk into a pawn shop, find a single heart beating under glass, and I know who it used to belong to, I know all of them (pg 1647). This works demonstrates that Indians are just like normal people who go to shops, bars, and lose people along the way that they miss dearly. 2.) Select one writer and write an extended reader response to his/her work. Why did you like/dislike the work? Why? Lullaby by Leslie Marmon Silko is a work that is depressing. There is real truth within it but it is saddening. The beginning of the story a woman is remembering happier times and her family members. Jimmie, which I was not able to identify the relationship between the women and Jimmie was being remembered and thought upon by the women. She realizes that she should not dwell on him since he is not dead. Yet, one day a dark blue sedan with white writing on its doors pulled up in front of the boxcar shack where the rancher let the Indians live. A man in a khaki uniform trimmed in gold gave then a yellow piece of paper and told them that Jimmie was dead (pg. 1545). • 27. Research Paper On Propionibacterium Acne Vulgaris Propionibacterium species are gram positive anaerobic bacilli. These species are part of the normal flora of human skin and mucosal surfaces such as oral cavity, gastrointestinal and genitourinary tracts and they usually not pathogenic (1) (2) (3). However, Propionibacterium acnes plays a major role in the development of acne. It could be the most common cause of inflammatory skin conditions acne vulgaris which is most common dermatological disorders seen by dermatologists (4) (5). Acne vulgaris is a disease in which affects the pilosebaceous units of the skin and can result in inflammatory or non inflammatory lesions (6). It affects all ages but it is mostly associated with puberty with incidence peaking at 18 years of age ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It can be treated topically or systemically. Other treatment options include the use of natural drugs (6). Antibiotics are frequently used to treat acne patients. Long course regimens of antibiotics can be prescribed to treat acne, which can reach 6 9 months. Most antibiotics prescribed for acne treatment are: clindamycin, macrolides (e.g. erythromycin) and tetracyclines (5). However, increasing resistance have made acne treatment challenging. The incidence of P. acnes antibiotic resistance increased from 20% in 1978 to 72.5% in 1995 (8). Widespread resistance has become a major dermatological issue (9) common prescribing antibiotics in dermatology clinics can be the major cause of the antibiotic resistance due to significant selection pressure on bacteria (10). Some studies has showed a relationship between antibiotic use and the development of resistance to P. acnes in patients treated in general practice. In addition to that , it has showed cross resistance between macrolides/lincosamides and tetracyclines. Other study has suggested that the rate of resistance increases as the duration of antibiotic consumption increases (12). So, our study aims to o identify the cause of the decreased susceptibility of propinobacterium acne to the commonly prescribed antibiotics and to evaluate the current use of antibiotics in treating ... Installing Convergent Encryption By Aes Encryption CHAPTER5 PROPOSEDARCHITECTUREANDMETHODOLOGY 5.1Proposed Architecture Inthis section, wedescribetheproposedarchitecture of deduplication system. In our proposed architecture we replace some technique with new technique like we replaced convergent encryption by AES encryption. We eliminate some steps that are not necessary to be there. That will help to reduce execution time. Mainly we made three changes in our proposed architecture: 1. We use AES encryption in place of convergent encryption. 2. We eliminate secret key encryption between server and metadata manager. 3. We proposed to check duplication at starting stage. In old architecture duplication checked when data converted in another form means after encryption. These three changes in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So we eliminate one secret encryption layer that was present between server and metadata manager. System takes so much time every time to check integrity and address of file because of that secret encryption layer. So clearly this step will reduce execution time. And at last we check duplication at starting stage. Now, there is no need to encrypt every data for integrity checking. This also eliminates extra overload from system. 5.2 COMPONENTS: In this section we describe the role of each component. A. User The role of the user is limited to uploading files to the system, encrypting them with the AES encryption technique, signing the resulting encrypted files and creating the storagerequest. In addition, the user also generates the key to AES system by his ID and PASSWORD. It works as file identifier to the system. For each file, this key will be used to decrypt and re build the file when it will be retrieved. Instead, thefile identifier is necessary to univocally identify a file overthe whole system. Finally, the user also signs each files with a special signature scheme. In order not to apply costly signatureoperations for the file, for all it adds owner name to a separate MM. The main architecture is illustrated in Fig. 5.1. B. Server The server has three main roles: authenticating users duringthe storage/retrieval request, performing access control byverifying block signatures embedded in the data, encrypting/decrypting data traveling from users to the cloud ... Once it would flood this meant they were wealthy with the land again. The Egyptians would grow their own crops, if they could not grow a certain crop that they wanted they would go to the villages and trade what they had grown with someone for what crop they wanted. Ancient Egypt population solely consisted of nobles, craftsmen, and farmers. Egyptians also had board games and it did not make a difference what class you belonged to, you could play if you were poor or a pharaoh which made this popular during this time. They soon discovered the dead that were being buried in the coffins did not look like the dead in the desert, so they figured they would embalm the bodies to make them look life like once again. First they would wash the dead body with wine then once finished wash the wine off with water from the Nile, because that was their only water source at the time. Then they would remove the insides by cutting the body on its left side. They would then remove the intestines, lungs, stomach, and liver then wrap each individually with natron which would dry each piece up, once finished they would go through the nose with a stick and break the brain apart so they then could pull it out from the nose. Then they would cover the body and stuff it with natron, 40 days passed and now it was time to wash the body one last time and rub it with oils. After Magie made the game, it become very well liked, so she decided to make another version and patent it. This new version had named streets and other appearance changes such as a rectangular board (Edward J. Dodson). A few years later, by the late 1920s, Magie and the creators changed the design by gathering the properties into groups, allowing buildings to be added to the locations and increasing the amount of rent charged based on the number of properties owned. In 1934, Charles B. Darrow, developed his own game for public release and used the streets of Atlantic City, New Jersey (Galley and Briavel). This was later known as Monopoly. As soon as he created the game, he offered to sell the board game to the Parker brothers that same year, but they were not interested. Although the majority of people agree that it should be banned, others disagree. As Hockey Alberta, one of Canada s largest associations, first announced to ban body check at Peewee levels. This include players between 11 and 12 years old. It later extends to Midget and Bantam levels as well. The reason for the ban is because these kids suffer from injuries, especially in concussions. This has led to the concern of parents on whether they should allow their kids to continue to play in minor hockey. Studies from both academic and non academic has proven that injuries is a problem in minor hockey. Although this may turn hockey into a different game, it takes consideration of children s safety. Since their body strength has not been developed fully, injuries such as concussions can lead to sequelae. This will highly affect their childhood, especially for children in Canada where they are proud to play hockey. As a result, it is rational that Hockey Canada and other organizations should ban body checking in minor hockey. Besides, studies have constantly revealed that body checking is the primary cause of injuries among minor hockey especially concussions. As soon as organizations such as the Hockey Association in Alberta started to realize the seriousness of body checking in minor hockey, the rate of injuries have significantly decrease. By now, the ban of body checking among Pewee, Bantam and Midget levels have reduce the risks of injury and concussion substantially. It has result a clear benefit for youth players suffering from injuries. Besides, proper education should be coached and executed properly in making reference to the 4 steps Progression Model. This can ensure less injuries being caused. Thus, bodychecking should be eliminated from minor hockey and the age at which it is introduced in competitive hockey leagues should be reconsidered. Unfortunately, wolves are seen as that enemy. Nevertheless, despite the negative images in the media and mass wolf culls, they keep on persisting. By killing wolves, we are damaging our environment and disrupting the natural cohesion that has been established between wolves and lower members of the food chain. This caused a decrease in vegetation due to the larger herbivores consuming a large amount of it. According to Reagan Downey, an educator at the Wolf Conservation Center, the effects were devastating, stating, You cannot eat in one area and stay there the entire day, because there s always the chance that something s going to try and eat you. However, without wolves in Yellowstone, elk could just stay there and so they would eat until all of the vegetation was gone. In addition, when nothing was left, they would move to a new area. Therefore, the landscape became very flat and very barren because nothing was there. Because the elk ate the vegetation, many animals were losing out on being able to eat as well because the elk were growing in number. So it caused other animals to move out and die, The effects of no wolves in the area was, in the long run, extremely unhealthy for the ecosystem of Yellowstone National Park. In January of 1995, United States and Canadian officials captured fourteen wolves and released them back into Yellowstone. An additional seventeen wolves were captured and released into Yellowstone in January of 1996, effectively bringing the ecosystem back into balance. After this happened, the ungulate population naturally declined back to healthy numbers, the vegetation increased, and the animals who were low on the food chain finally had a stable place to ...
