Simulation Of Packet Level Dataset For Network Intrusion...
Simulation of Packet level dataset for Network Intrusion Detection
I. Introduction:
The Internet is a global public network and it is the Universal source of information. It has become a
popular medium for commercial activities. Millions of dollars of transactions occur daily in many
financial organizations through Internet. The internet along with digital technologies has taken human
life into much higher levels of sophistication and ease. The growth of Internet has brought about great
benefits to the modern society; meanwhile, the rapidly increasing connectivity and accessibility to the
Internet has posed a security threat. With the tremendous growth of network based services and
sensitive information on networks, network security is getting more and more import than ever. The
attacks on the Internet have become both more prolific and easier to implement because of the
ubiquity of the Internet and the pervasiveness of easy to use operating systems and development
environments.
Data is often the most valuable asset possessed by an organization and it is the main target of
intentional attacks. Data stored, processed, and transmitted by a computer system must be protected.
Business organizations use the internet as an important aspect of their business model. In addition to
using internet applications, such as the web and email, to generate revenue and communicate with
customers, they also store important and proprietary information on computers that are accessible

Influence Of African American And European Artists Since...
Influence of African Art on Modern American and European Artists since the 19th Century
The little that is known of the history of the African people comes from the stories that the Africans
pass down from one generation to another. These stories have been changed or confirmed by the
studies of archaeologists, who have found evidence doing so. The biggest problem for archaeologists
is that most of the artwork and other remnants of the African culture has been destroyed over the years
due to natural elements (Jirousek, para.1). This is because they were made of organic materials, which
decompose easily in the environmental conditions of Africa (Jirousek, para.1). Even though there is
not many examples of historical African Art archaeologists ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The Baule people of this area made mask that consisted of heart shaped faces which were elongated.
These faces also had small mouths that were placed low on the face (Murrell, para. 8). Modigliani
would go on to adapt this style for a number of his paintings such as Reclining Nude . This led to a
number of other artists such as Constantin Brancusi, who was responsible for the wood carving Bird in
Space utilizing the concepts of African Art into their artworks. The artist Max Weber helped to bring
African influenced art to American after visiting Picasso while he was studying painting with Matisse
in Paris. After his exposure Weber s paintings started portraying masked forms that were done in an

Black Tar Heroin Epidemic Analysis
One of the only foreseeable problems of truth is the representation of the heroin epidemic as just that
an epidemic. Many people see heroin abuse as a choice which it is, initially and a crime that should be
punished, not necessarily treated. Hopefully, conversations with law enforcement and medical
professionals can provide objective, expert opinions that will balance with firsthand accounts that the
audience can empathize with. This approach will seek to strike a balance between the personal and the
professional to minimize that problem of truth . Supporting assertions with evidence and expert
testimony will put objectivity at the forefront of the documentary.
Much of the documentary will be based around interviews: interviews with ... Show more content on

Black Tar Heroin (1999) is perhaps one of the best examples. Black Tar Heroin is an HBO piece that
focuses on the lives of five addicted young people and the poor decisions that arise as a result of their
abuse. While it gives some humanity to the issue of heroin addiction, it does not delve into the
overarching, underlying causes of the heroin problem in the same way that Mistakes on the Lake will
seek to. Mistakes on the Lake will be less of a slice of life piece, though it will emphasize that anyone
can get addicted to heroin. In 2016, the PBS documentary series Frontline produced a two hour
investigative episode called Chasing Heroin that sought to educate people about addiction and reach
the root of the opioid problem. Mistakes on the Lake will focus more on the stories of individuals, and
it will center specifically around the Northern Ohio region. Chasing Heroin focuses on the big picture
, the nation at large. While the issue of heroin abuse and overdose obviously did not happen overnight,
it is still a relatively new issue. Most of the literature surrounding heroin does not focus on the source
of the epidemic and the real stories of those addicted to it. For the most part, books relating to heroin
are fictionalized accounts like Dopefiend or self help books that seek to help addicts in

Should Sports Players Be Allowed To Draft Players Essay
One question that many people ask is, should pros be allowed to draft players before they graduate,
most people don t agree with this. Although many sports team draft players before they graduate
would it affect the player s future. There are a lot of things that the player should think about, if they
are going to have a good rookie season, should he leave earlier so he doesn t get a career ending
injury, and if their ready for the challenge . The reason why players should get drafted earlier in sports
before they graduate is that they can make some amount of money at a young age, for example if they
had a great rookie season like the football star Odell Beckham they could start to make a lot of money
at a young age, and maybe in the future

Advertising and Big Beer Ad Essay
Tutorial Questions Week 8 1. What factors influence the perceived credibility of an informal
information source? List and discuss factors that determine the credibility of formal communication
sources of product information.
The perceived honesty and objectivity of the source of communication has an enormous influence on
how the communication is accepted by the receiver. The major factors are perceived intention of
source, correct use of celebrity endorsements and the appropriateness of the spokesperson with the
content of the message. 2. What are the implications of the sleeper effect for the selection of

This type of marketing is called viral as it allows the message to spread like a virus. Some examples of
this are the Carlton Draught it s a big beer ad, which premiered on the Internet and now has had over 3
million views. Social networking activities driven by sites such a YouTube and Facebook have also
had an important impact of the effectiveness of viral marketing, for example the Carlton it s a big beer
ad can be viewed on YouTube.
On the other hand, according to Nielsen Media Research it would appear that popular FM radio
stations and ABC radio stations appeal to two very different audiences, with 33% of over 55 listening
to 3AW Melbourne and closely behind are the ABC stations for that age groups. 6. You are the
marketing manager for a headache remedy. Your advertising agency has just presented you with two
different promotional strategies, one using a humorous approach and one taking an agony approach.
Which approach would you adopt? Why?
As a pharmaceutical company we would choose the agony approach as these commercials are run
with great success because they appeal to a certain segment that suffers from aliments that are not
visible, which therefore elicit little sympathy from family and friends. Complaints are legitimized by
commercials, which they immediately identify with.

The Aztec Human Sacrifices Essay
The Aztec civilization was a very complex society that was feared and known well for their various
gory sacrifices done to please their many gods in their polytheistic religion. The much feared
civilization began by the exile of one of the two Toltec leaders, which lead to the decline of the Toltec
state that was later replaced by Mexica, or the Aztecs. According to the Aztecs, the land chosen to
build their main city was chosen by the portrayal of an eagle perched on a cactus with a snake in its
mouth. Through military might, the Aztecs managed to become the most powerful civilization in the
mid fourteenth century. They maintained their power through military might and the fear they caused

The selfless act the gods committed led to one of the major reasons for human sacrifices which was
that since the gods gave up their own life for the creation of the new world, that the Aztecs had to
somehow respect and honor their action. They did this by creating an eighteen month calendar, which
dedicated each month to a certain god. The Aztecs used scared and solar calendars to tell time and
when all the possible combinations had been used, usually every fifty two years, the Aztecs would go
through a twelve day period before the cycle started again (Benson 506).
There were many different methods the Aztecs used to sacrifice their victims but most sacrifices
centered on the method of heart extraction. The victims were, thrust onto the stone, where a temple
priest cut through their chest wall with a ritual flint knife, and the heart was, [offered] to the sun for
vitality and nourishment, ( Aztec Human Sacrifices ). There was also the act of burning the victim
alive in the sacrificial fire but before they reached death they were taken out and their heart would be
taken out (Callery 33). Victims were not the only ones that were sacrificed; priests also conducted a
method of sacrifice called bloodletting. The priest would begin by punctuating his tongue or any other
body part and then proceeding to letting blood flow out ( Aztec Human Sacrifices ). A torture method

Visit Of The Shree Swaminarayan Mandir On Prescott Avenue
When it comes to the topic of understanding religions other than one s own, most are educated by
what they have learned through their reading, or have been taught by professors, colleagues, friends
and neighbors. Few have the curiosity, courage, and in my case a course requirement to attend a
service of another religion and dialogue with those practicing that particular religion. I chose to visit
the Shree Swaminarayan Mandir on Prescott Avenue mainly because of my curiosity regarding the
diversity of the practice of Hindusim. I attended two services, one being the celebration of Diwali, the
festival of lights, and the other being an ordinary Sunday ritual. These experiences have given me a

We began to take a seat as close to the rear as possible, when Mary Katherine pointed out that we were
clearly on the women s side of the temple. The other two male students and I realizing our lack
observational skill turned around and exited back through the shoe room, and into the lobby. There I
thought it would be best to stop in and inform the young man in the office (whose name has slipped
my memory) that we were visiting as part of our course. He welcomed us and explained that today
was their celebration of Dewali and that they were expecting close to 500 people. He came out of the
office and brought us down the center isle up to the shrine. I couldn t hear much of what he was
saying, partly due his accent, but also due to the loud music that was being played by a few worshipers
just a few feet away. The shrine was composed of three figures covered in brightly colored decorative
ornaments and clothing. The figures stood in a large altar that appeared to be beautifully carved and
finished wood that was lined with strips of lights that flickered colored patterns throughout the
service. Below the altar was an assortment of foods and fruits, which were aesthetically prepared and
plated. I took a few pictures as were many worshipers, the young man then said he had to head to the
back of the temple to grab something and my fellow students and I then headed to the back of the
temple to take a seat. The service was entirely in a language other than

The Role of Women in Society
The Role of Women in Society
Things Fall Apart, by Chinua Achebe, demonstrates the original and traditional cultures of African,
predominantly the Igbo culture. In traditional Igbo culture, men are perceived as the dominant and
most powerful sex, while women are perceived as weak lesser people. Although women seem to play
an inferior role in society, there are many traditions that exemplify the value and importance of
women to males in society.
Although women are mistreated, the Igbo society assigns important roles to the women. Women are
the ones who paint the egwugwu house, the house to the most powerful and most secret cult in the
clan. Many colored patterns and drawings done by specially chosen women at regular intervals (88).

Cultural Reflection Paper
When I think of culture, I think of what activities people normally do, things they wear, and even the
food they eat. I grew up as a military brat, meaning I grew up in a military family. I traveled a lot and I
have got to see all types of cultures, and I like them all for different reasons. I was born in Germany,
and I love their culture because they are happy with who they are, they have really cool traditions, and
I love their food. In Germany, if a person saw a 12 year old drinking alcohol, it is perfectly normal,
whereas in our culture, it is wrong if a person saw that happening. Why is that? Well for starters, their
country is more developed because they understand how to keep their citizens safe. While I was there,
when children had to go to school, someone could see a 5 year old walking to school by themselves.
People do not think if their child is going to get kidnapped or killed while they are by themselves. In
the U.S., we obviously have a lot of problems with those kinds of things. Here, if a 5 year old is by
themselves on the streets, it is called neglect. When I think of culture, I think of what activities people

Chinese Testimonies Of Imperial Japan s Sex Slaves
Another survivor who shared her story was Mardiyah, from Banrubiru, Central Java. Married to a
Japanese corporal, Mardiyah had been deceived into taking a job as a laundry lady, which turned out
to truly be a job where she was forced into sexual services, wash clothes, and help build roads. In her
statement she says, I didn t even know I was pregnant, but when I saw the bleeding, I was relieved. At
least I was spared the shame of having a Japanese child. Umi, from Sukabumi was abducted at 13
years old with her two sisters to a brothel by Japanese soldiers. For 5 long months, her sisters were
constantly abused, beaten and sexually attacked, until their internal injuries eventually killed them. In
part of her statement she states, My sisters were very pretty. The Japanese lined up for them. They
protected me, because I was so young. They would say: Leave my little sister alone, just take me. I
was taken, too, but not so badly. I still was able to have children. Once she had reached freedom at the
end of the war, Umi married a family member because no one else wanted her. Within Chinese

A Research Study On Mining Water
Here in the U.S mining uses 4,020 million gallons per day, out of that 4 million + gallons 86% of it
comes from surface and groundwater. To put this in percpective if you were a swimming pool builder
and a customer asked you to build a pool that would hold 3.5 million gallons you would need to build
a pool about 950 feet long (almost as long as 3 football fields), 175 feet wide, and 10 feet deep. That s
a lot of water!
Mining water is water used for the extraction of minerals that may be in the form of solids, such as
iron, coal, gravel and sand or liquids, such as crude petroleum and natural gas. Mining withdrawals
are considered self supplied water as freshwater or saline water. A recent study here in the U.S
revealed withdrawals from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nevada, Florida, Ohio, Arizona, and Pennsylvania accounted for 52 percent of fresh groundwater
withdrawals. Oil and gas operations in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Wyoming and California were
responsible for the large saline groundwater withdrawals in those states because saline water is a
byproduct of mining operations. The use of water in mining has the potential and has been known to
affect the quality of surrounding surface water and groundwater. In response to environmental
concerns and government regulations, the mining industry worldwide increasingly monitors water
discharged from mine sites and has implemented a number of management strategies to prevent water
pollution. One such strategy is the use of remote sensing to assess impact of mining activities on land
and water resources.
Environmental impact assessment is now an integral part of mining operations. Remote sensing data
enables the identification, delineating, and monitoring of pollution sources and affected areas
including changes in surface land use and to water bodies. Using high resolution satellite remote
sensing data and state of the art GIS techniques (geographical information system is a system designed
to capture, store, manipulate, analyze, manage, and present all types of spatial or geographical data)

Upgrading Pavement Design
1. Introduction
1.1 Background
Before the 1920 s, pavement design consisted mainly of major thicknesses of layered materials to
provide strength and protection to weak subgrade. The pavement design was predominantly against
subgrade shear failure. During those times, experience based on success and failures of previous
projects was used to formulate pavement design methods. As time wore on and experience grew,
several design methods based on shear strength were developed.
Meanwhile, the increased traffic volume led to changes in the design criteria. In consideration of
subgrade support provision, pavement performance through ride quality (smoothness) and surface
distresses that increase the deterioration rate of pavement structures had to be evaluated. The attention
was then mainly drawn to pavement performance rather than shear strength. Methods based on
serviceability were developed based on test track experiments. The AASHTO design guide was then
developed after the AASHO Road Test in the late 1950 s. Although test track experiments showed
good accuracy, they were valid only for materials and climatic conditions for which they were
developed. This called for new materials which also had their own failure modes (e.g permanent
deformation and fatigue cracking) to be used in pavement structures, hence the development of new
design criteria to incorporate such failure mechanisms.
Empirical design, Mechanistic design and Mechanistic Empirical design are the three main

Socioeconomic Inequality Of High School Dropout Rates
There are clear racial and economic disparities that exist in regards to high school dropout rates.
Researchers found that African American and Hispanic students experience higher rates of dropouts
compared to White students. In 2012, the dropout rate for African Americans was 7.5 percent. For the
Hispanic population it was 12.7 percent, and for Native Americans it was 14.6 percent. All of these
rates of minority dropout which are all significantly higher than the rates of Whites and Asians/Pacific
Islanders (United State Department of Education, 2015). This was also true for students living in low

High school dropout is not an issue that solely affects North Carolina. In fact, the term dropout factory
is one that can be found in research articles and news reports across the country. This term has been
ascribed to as many as 1,700 high schools nationally (Tyler Lofstrom, 2009). With this volume of
schools being labeled as schools that allow, and possibly even stimulate, large number of students not
to continue onto graduation with their peers, the question is posed; why are students dropping out?
This question does not have one answer, but rather several factors both within and without of the
school s control.
In North Carolina a student can legally stop going to school at the age of 16. However, this is not a
decision that students hastily make, rather it is a gradual process of disengagement (Bridgeland,
DiLulio Jr. Morison, 2006). There are many reasons as to why these students choose to dropout,
including extenuating circumstances they may not be able to control. North Carolina requires a
majority of their districts to have school social workers or counselors document the reasons students
provide for dropping out of school. These reasons vary from school attendance having the highest
percentage of 40.3, community college enrollment, conflicts with work, unstable home environment,
change of location, need to care for children, and incarceration (Public Schools of North Carolina,
2015).
The literature refers to three factors that cause students not

Anne Frank Essay
Introduction:
Have you ever had a hard time in your life? The Holocaust was a very tough time for the Jews, they
were forced to either find a place to stay or they would get sent off to concentration camp, which was
leading to their last breath. Anne Frank and her family, had to stay in an annex to try to stay away
from the Nazi s because they were Jewish. They had to be really quiet during the day or they would be
heard from down below. However, there is one special girl that handled it very well. Anne Frank once
said, In spite of everything, I still believe people are really good at heart. Throughout all the obstacles
that Anne and her family have faced, she is always looking for the good in people. After reading the
diary, I have come to a decision. Anne s quote really said a lot about her and others around her. I am
agreeing with Anne s powerful quote. The others that were in hiding with Anne really had to persevere
and help each other out. When I read the diary I saw that the most caring person was Miep. She
always helped them when they needed something outside of the annex, but I can still see how people
think that people during those days were not very good at heart. I think Mr Van Daan seemed a little
rude and selfish about others.
My Side:
After I saw many acts of kindness, throughout the play, based off of Anne s diary, I was persuaded to
agree with her quote that everyone is good at heart. The character that stood out the most to me was
Miep. She showed me at the beginning of the book when they all moved into the annex. On page 8,
the dialogue goes on to say,
Narrator: (indicating the sink cupboard)
Miep: We put the stores of food you sent in here.
Narrator:( She crosses to the shelves.)
Miep: Your drugs are here soap, linen, here.
Mrs. Frank: Thank you, Miep.
Miep: I made up the beds the way Mr Frank and Mr Kraler said. Forgive me. I have to hurry. I ve got
to go to the other side of town to get some ration books for you.
During this scene, the Franks and the Van Daans had just moved into hiding and were trying to settled
in quickly. They knew that they were lacking on the materials that they needed. Mr Frank thought
about his workers that weren t Jewish, then he said Miep. Miep was

Reasons Behind the Failure of the Provisional Government...
Reasons Behind the Failure of the Provisional Government
The provisional government was brought about after the fall of the Tsarist government collapsed. This
was done purely because of lack of support for the Tsar and being the only major party. They were in
power for 8months and after making five serious errors; they were removed from power by force.
Kerensky ran the provisional government and it was his lack of judgement, just like the Tsars stupidity
and gullibility that let him down.
The first error he made was that he made no attempt to make the provisional government legitimate. It
never held a democratic election for fear of losing status. Even though at the start of their reign ...

This left an army that was majorly weakened and people thought that, like the Tsar he was a loser of
wars. The populations now have an even worse opinion of him and it was not good for his popularity.
Kerensky underestimated the Bolshevik s and Lenin. Once he had fought off their uprising with Lenin
s plan of Peace for the Army, Bread for the Workers and Land for the Peasants , he thought sending
Lenin to exile was sufficient. After Lenin accepted that he had lost his chance to become President, an
uprising in Petrograd (Kornilov Affair a point I will go onto in my next paragraph) means Kerensky
has to rearm the Bolsheviks in order to retain order. This leaves other countries and supporters of
Lenin with a chance to send him back into the country and to try and push the country into another
revolution (bringing about communism ideally). Lenin s plan to try to please as many people as
possible could come back into effect and this time it had a substantially negative effect on Kerensky s
position in Russian parliament.
Continuing from my last point, Kerensky s lack of judgement about the Kornilov affair was a
definitive error of his. He thought that the Bolshevik s were attempting to take over Russia by means
of a coup, thus he asked Kornilov to send part of his army to protect him. When they got there,

intimidation, usually occurring against civilians. Government shouldn t be limited in combating
terrorism due to the historical impact, past government ruling, and effects on terrorism current day.
Throughout historical evidence government shouldn t be limited to combat terrorism. For instance,
according to amendment 14 no person shall be deprived of life, liberty, or property without the due
process, (Amendments, 1998. Pg.40). When terrorists attack, they are looking to take away our

According to oyez.org the Hamdi vs. Rumsfeld case was a case that recognized the power of the US
government to detain enemy combats. When talking about the enemy s, terrorism definitely is an
example of enemy combat . Therefore, the government shall be enabled to combat terrorism.
Moreover, Amendment 4 states that it is the right of the people to be secure in one s personal
belongings (property, papers, and effects against unreasonable searches). When terrorism strikes, they
are technically breaking amendment 4. For that reason government must act on terrorism to protect
one s property. Likewise, amendment 14 is no person shall be deprived of life, liberty, or the process
of law, (Amendments, 1998. Pg.40). Government shall act accordingly to all amendments. Part of the
amendments goal is to keep the people safe. Combating terrorism shall not be limited because when
doing that they are protecting us. However, One group that will oppose combating terrorism would be
terrorists themselves. They oppose combating terrorism because it makes their jobs harder. For
example, when the US is sending troops to the middle east to fight terrorism, they will not be able to

Physical Activity s Impact on the Hippocampus
Ana Arredondo The hippocampus is a miniature structure within the brain that plays a crucial role in
the limbic system. The limbic system, known for regulating emotions among other functions, is
located in the medial temporal lobe. The importance of the hippocampus relies on multiple aspects of
memory. When information is processed from the environment, the hippocampus manipulates it by

Simulation-Based Nursing Education Is An Increasingly Popular
Simulation based nursing education is an increasingly popular academic approach. Structured
facilitated debriefing is an important strategy to engage students in learning and is essential in
simulation training. Further research is warranted to fully understand the impact of the method in
nurse education. It provides students with opportunities to practice their clinical and decision making
skills through various real life situational experiences. However, simulation approaches fall along a
scale ranging from low fidelity to high fidelity simulation. Debriefing approaches connected with the
simulation in the healthcare field aim to improve the performance, learning experience, and patient
results. Regardless of whether you are a med ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

to practice their clinical and decision making skills through real life experiences. The second article,
using simulation learning through academic practice partnership to promote transition to clinical
practice suggests exploring the effect of an advanced simulation education program on nursing
students. The third article, development of a post simulation debriefing intervention to prepare nurses
and nursing students to care for deteriorating patients suggests nurses need to be prepared to recognize
signs and symptoms of patient deterioration so they can obtain support from appropriate respondents

The Treatment Of Rheumatoid Arthritis
Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disease of the joints that affects approximately
1.3% of the world population1. RA causes inflammation in the tissue lining the joints, which leads to
joint swelling, pain and stiffness2. RA occurs three times more often in women compared to men3.
While this sex bias in the prevalence of RA is not yet understood, it has opened a new field of research
to investigate sex differences in RA and to gain a better understanding of the etiology and progression
of this debilitating disease. Note: Although the terms sex and gender are used to refer to biological vs.
psychosocial differences respectively, we have used these terms interchangeably in this paper to refer
to sex/gender related factors to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nonetheless, physical deformities, structural damage, and severe clinical disease activity have been
reported equally in both genders. 4 6 However, men with RA have a higher mortality rate and
experience a greater number of adverse infections than women, suggesting that they experience more
extreme symptoms of the disease 6 7. A possible explanation for this revolves around a discussion
regarding the genetic risk factors in men and women for RA. The HLA DRB1*0401/0404 (Human
Leukocyte Antigen) genotype is associated with a 26 fold increase in chances of developing RA, but a
90 fold increased risk in men and more than doubled when age at disease onset was below 308. Given
this discussion, there may be a certain threshold related to development of RA8. Since being a female
is a huge risk factor for RA, males who do develop RA may have a greater number of other risk
factors, increasing the severity of the RA that develops in males. Thus, having the HLA
DRB1*0401/*0404 genotype comes with a substantially high risk for RA development especially in
younger males, possibly explaining the higher mortality rate and greater severity of RA in men
compared to women8. It is thus far not clear why these sex differences exist. It has been suggested that
these sex differences in RA are merely the result of a self reporting bias in which females possess a
different standard for evaluating pain and reporting with greater candor .4 Furthermore, sex
differences in pain perception are

Vocational Trade Schools
There is beginning to be a shortage of workers in certain work forces, such as teachers, healthcare
workers, accountants, and many other important jobs (Perry). These jobs require a postsecondary
degree; it is vital for there to always be an abundant of workers in worker forces like these because
they are so important to our society. To many students, sitting down in class and having to study is not
an ideal way to get further their education after high school. Vocational and trade schools offer
students a hands on learning experience. Vocational and trade schools will offer students a certification

Gangs Of El Salvador Essay
It was just another ordinary Thursday for my mother in the small town of Oratorio de Concepcion in
rural El Salvador. Just like any other eight year old in 1980, she got up, brushed her teeth, quickly
pulled her knotted hair into a high ponytail, and left for school. The short distance she walked was
filled with the sounds of worn out shoes hitting the dirt road as children ran by excited to start a new
day at the town s only elementary school. After hours of sitting in a classroom surrounded by grey
concrete bricks, once the last bell rang, she would wait at the entrance gate for her younger brother
and cousin. They walked back down the dirt road together while kicking a deflated soccer ball to their
home where their grandmother would be waiting for them with a little snack. My mother, her older ...

The Best Year For My High School Basketball Team
2013 was the best year for my high school basketball team. A small high school in my hometown Pula
achieved the biggest achievement in its history. That same small high school has the biggest heart in
whole country. Everyone breathes for that school: students, professors, school staff. No matter what
they were always for us and supported us like we were a big family. My school was crazy about sports
especially about basketball; it was more than a game for the school. It was my senior year there, and
we had a great basketball team. My brother Franco and I were the two best players in school, of course
everybody else was good but still we were the leaders. We set the goal in the begining of the season, to
goal make national tournament. Only the six teams from the whole country could go on to the national
tournament, and it wasn t going to be an easy job for any of schools. Early in the season we were
really well, we played as a team, with confidence and with lot of energy. That was just the results of
hard work that we put every day in our game. My brother and I always pushed each other to our
maximum limits and everybody could see our hard work on the court because we averaged 30 points
per game each. Everyone told me that my brother was ready for the PRO league, and that our team
was so good just because Franco made everything so easy. I enjoyed play with Franco; therefore, he
had a feel for the game and I scored most of my points because he passed me every time.

Persuasive Essay On Hair Care
Many hair related problems like hair loss, rough and dull hair, split ends and breakage, arise due to
lack of proper hair care. But there are also illnesses and treatments that no product or treatment can
prevent hair loss during or after. Fortunately, there are things you can do to help prevent breakage, dry
and dull hair, and also as if you have had hair loss due to illness, there are ways to help your hair grow
back.
● One of the first steps in hair care is your diet and the two most important things in your diet are iron
and protein. Hair cells are the fastest growing cells in the body, they are also the first ones to be
affected if you don t eat right. Hair is not required for our survival so with deficiencies, hair is the first
to suffer. Eat a healthy, well balanced diet of proper food and consume excess water to prevent hair
breakage. Lean proteins, fruits, raw vegetables, whole grains, legumes, omega 3 fatty acids found in
salmon or flaxseed oil and dairy products will keep hair healthy. Click Here to view our previous
article on Vitamins and Nutrients with recipes.
● Drink Green tea. Drink at least 24 oz. of green tea every day to help your scalp grow hair back.
Green tea lowers the levels of dihydrotestosterone, or DHT, in your body. DHT is one on the main
culprits to hair loss, so drinking tea can help your hair grow back in a natural way. Scientists have
found that green tea contains the antioxidant EGCG (or epigallocatechin gallate) which has

A dance studio is hectic this time of year. The excitement of young girls putting on their tutus for the

other instructors and younger dancers. The younger students looked at them in amazement, dreaming

saw her. She sat in a chair behind the front desk in track shorts and a Pittsburg T shirt. Parents of other
students walked by congratulating her on her graduation. She smiled graciously and thanked them.
Life is unpredictable. One minute you re the star of the studio. A prima ballerina. And the next
moment you find yourself in a cast, sitting behind a desk, folding programs. I walked over and sat next
to her. Hi, Ms. Kori. Hey, Ashley. Do you mind if we talk for a minute? I have to do an interview for a
class. We could go grab some ice cream or coffee. Her face lit up and she had only one word to say.
Starbucks. I helped her into Starbucks and took her order. She hobbled over to a table, struggling with
her crutches. I walked over to the table with our coffee and sat across from her. Now, let s get started. I

meant to modernize the FBI s antiquated computer system and included a case management system,
an evidence management system, and a records management system (Marchewka 2010). As we will

Without centralized IT leadership defining program goals, alignment within the agency s IT programs
was not possible. Culturally, existing tools, such as the Automated Case Support (ACS) system, were
under utilized, and agents did not trust them to protect evidence and confidential sources (OIG Audit
Report 05 07, 2005). Numerous techniques exist that would have allowed Trilogy leadership to gain
key input from system users, which would have had the dual benefit of creating understanding of the
ground level needs of users and fostering user buy in at the project s outset.
Formal Project Definition
Trilogy management attempted to provide a formal project definition that explained the mission of the
project, focused the project planning efforts and outlined the project deliverables. Trilogy was so
named due to its three components: the Information Presentation Component (IPC), the Transportation
Network Component (TNC) and User Application Component (UAC). The IPC and TNC components
were adequately defined, but the UAC was poorly defined, with catastrophic results. Trilogy
management recognized that the size and complexity of the project required the use of external
resources with proper IT project experience and technical expertise. Two contractors were used, one
for the IPC and TNC, and a second for UAC. The IPC/TNC contract included three major milestones
as part of a phased rollout: Fast Track, Extended Fast Track and Full Site Capability.

How Did Steel Change Society
Steel has done many incredible things and taken mankind further than we could have ever dreamed. It
is used in almost every metal object that we Americans use on a daily basis, and it would be almost
impossible to find one without it. Not only that, but steel is also used in many other things throughout
America that would not be possible without it. The development of steel was a revolutionary pivotal
point in the history of the United States, because it is involved in the creation of steel appliances and
objects, buildings and skyscrapers, and the railroad, which was the backbone of early America. To
know how steel impacted the world and changed society for the better, you must first know the history
of it and how it came to be. Steel is an alloy of iron mixed with primarily carbon and a small amount
of other tiny elements. It dates back to have been created almost 4000 years ago ... Show more content

Antisocial Personality Disorder Case Study
Treatment recommendations for antisocial personality disorder, based on the patient s case, is a
medication such as lithium carbonate, which has been found to reduce anger, threatening behavior and
combativeness among prisoners (Black, 2013). Psychotherapy and cognitive behavioral therapy are
other options for treatment, but I would not recommend these for Gemma because of her background,
environment, and stubborn personality. Prognosis is not very good because of two contributing
factors. First, because the disorder is characterized by a failure to conform to society s norms, people
with this disorder are often incarcerated because of criminal behavior. Secondly, a lack of insight into
the disorder is very common. People with antisocial personality disorder typically see the world as
having the problems, not him or herself, and therefore rarely seek treatment. If progress is made, it is
typically over an extended period of time (Antisocial Personality Disorder, 2011). The research ethics

Analysis Of Terrence Malick s The Tree Of Life
Terrence Malick s The Tree of Life focuses on Jack, played by Sean Penn as a man and Hunter
McCracken as a boy, adrift in his life and reflecting on his childhood in 1950s Texas in a nearly two
and a half hour drama. Though the film is difficult to follow because of its highly experimental nature,
the audience is left with impressions of the film s spectacular visual and aural presence, both of which
show evidence of the influence of Christianity, which is omnipresent in the American South. The
theme is introduced at the beginning of the film by Mrs. O Brien, played by Jessica Chastain, as she
speaks in a gentle voice over about the way of nature and the way of grace. In his book How Should
We Then Live?: The Rise and Decline of Western Thought and Culture, famous American theologian
Francis Schaeffer concluded that nature is as the lower while grace is the higher (Schaeffer 55). In the
religious context of the film, this means that as nature is self serving and representative of humans on
earth while grace is other serving and representative of God in heaven. This divide between the way of
nature and the way of grace finds itself present in various aspects of the film. While Terrence Malick s
The Tree of Life does not offer conventional evidence of the theme because of its experimental nature,
the visuals, music, and underscoring of the film support the audience s interpretation of the main
theme of nature versus grace.

Motives For Terrorism Essay
Terrorism is a type of violence used tactically in peace, conflict, and war. The threat of terrorism is
ever present, and an attack is likely to occur when least expected. In trying to find out what factors can
cause an individual to choose terrorism, it is first necessary to define what terrorism is. The
Department of Defense defines terrorism as the calculated use of violence or threat of violence to
inculcate fear; intended to coerce or to intimidate governments or societies in the pursuit of goals that
are generally political, religious, or ideological. Per the definition, the terrorists are not giving into a
whim of random acts, but these individuals are using calculated moves in order to achieve the purpose
of the group. Simply ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This type of motivation is found to be a faith of the terrorist. The individual does not consider the
actions taken to achieve the agenda wrong and may tend to project antisocial motivations onto others,
creating a polarized we versus they outlook.(3) These members attribute only evil motives to anyone
outside the group. The resulting clarity of purpose appeals to those who crave violence to relieve their
constant anger.
The other common characteristic of the psychologically motivated terrorist is the pronounced need to
belong to a group. With some terrorists, group acceptance is a stronger motivator than the stated
political objectives of the organization. Such individuals define their social status by group
acceptance.
More often than not the groups goal may be nearly impossible to achieve. A group that achieves its
stated purpose is no longer needed; thus, success threatens the psychological well being of its
members. When a terrorist group approaches a stated goal, there may be an inclination to redefine it.
The group may reject the achievement as false or inadequate or the result of the duplicity of them .
When a solution is close to being reached, objectives change.
One effective psychological defense against success is to define goals so broadly that they are
impossible to achieve. Even if the world proclaims the success of a political movement, the

  • 3. Influence Of African American And European Artists Since... Influence of African Art on Modern American and European Artists since the 19th Century The little that is known of the history of the African people comes from the stories that the Africans pass down from one generation to another. These stories have been changed or confirmed by the studies of archaeologists, who have found evidence doing so. The biggest problem for archaeologists is that most of the artwork and other remnants of the African culture has been destroyed over the years due to natural elements (Jirousek, para.1). This is because they were made of organic materials, which decompose easily in the environmental conditions of Africa (Jirousek, para.1). Even though there is not many examples of historical African Art archaeologists ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Modigliani would go on to adapt this style for a number of his paintings such as Reclining Nude . This led to a number of other artists such as Constantin Brancusi, who was responsible for the wood carving Bird in Space utilizing the concepts of African Art into their artworks. • 4. Black Tar Heroin Epidemic Analysis One of the only foreseeable problems of truth is the representation of the heroin epidemic as just that an epidemic. Many people see heroin abuse as a choice which it is, initially and a crime that should be punished, not necessarily treated. Hopefully, conversations with law enforcement and medical professionals can provide objective, expert opinions that will balance with firsthand accounts that the audience can empathize with. This approach will seek to strike a balance between the personal and the professional to minimize that problem of truth . Supporting assertions with evidence and expert testimony will put objectivity at the forefront of the documentary. Much of the documentary will be based around interviews: interviews with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Black Tar Heroin (1999) is perhaps one of the best examples. Black Tar Heroin is an HBO piece that focuses on the lives of five addicted young people and the poor decisions that arise as a result of their abuse. While it gives some humanity to the issue of heroin addiction, it does not delve into the overarching, underlying causes of the heroin problem in the same way that Mistakes on the Lake will seek to. Mistakes on the Lake will be less of a slice of life piece, though it will emphasize that anyone can get addicted to heroin. In 2016, the PBS documentary series Frontline produced a two hour investigative episode called Chasing Heroin that sought to educate people about addiction and reach the root of the opioid problem. Mistakes on the Lake will focus more on the stories of individuals, and it will center specifically around the Northern Ohio region. Chasing Heroin focuses on the big picture , the nation at large. While the issue of heroin abuse and overdose obviously did not happen overnight, it is still a relatively new issue. Most of the literature surrounding heroin does not focus on the source of the epidemic and the real stories of those addicted to it. For the most part, books relating to heroin are fictionalized accounts like Dopefiend or self help books that seek to help addicts in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although many sports team draft players before they graduate would it affect the player s future. There are a lot of things that the player should think about, if they are going to have a good rookie season, should he leave earlier so he doesn t get a career ending injury, and if their ready for the challenge . • 7. The Aztec Human Sacrifices Essay The Aztec civilization was a very complex society that was feared and known well for their various gory sacrifices done to please their many gods in their polytheistic religion. The much feared civilization began by the exile of one of the two Toltec leaders, which lead to the decline of the Toltec state that was later replaced by Mexica, or the Aztecs. The selfless act the gods committed led to one of the major reasons for human sacrifices which was that since the gods gave up their own life for the creation of the new world, that the Aztecs had to somehow respect and honor their action. They did this by creating an eighteen month calendar, which dedicated each month to a certain god. The Aztecs used scared and solar calendars to tell time and when all the possible combinations had been used, usually every fifty two years, the Aztecs would go through a twelve day period before the cycle started again (Benson 506). There were many different methods the Aztecs used to sacrifice their victims but most sacrifices centered on the method of heart extraction. The victims were, thrust onto the stone, where a temple priest cut through their chest wall with a ritual flint knife, and the heart was, [offered] to the sun for vitality and nourishment, ( Aztec Human Sacrifices ). There was also the act of burning the victim alive in the sacrificial fire but before they reached death they were taken out and their heart would be taken out (Callery 33). Victims were not the only ones that were sacrificed; priests also conducted a method of sacrifice called bloodletting. The priest would begin by punctuating his tongue or any other body part and then proceeding to letting blood flow out ( Aztec Human Sacrifices ). A torture method of the Aztecs that might be ... Visit Of The Shree Swaminarayan Mandir On Prescott Avenue When it comes to the topic of understanding religions other than one s own, most are educated by what they have learned through their reading, or have been taught by professors, colleagues, friends and neighbors. Few have the curiosity, courage, and in my case a course requirement to attend a service of another religion and dialogue with those practicing that particular religion. I chose to visit the Shree Swaminarayan Mandir on Prescott Avenue mainly because of my curiosity regarding the diversity of the practice of Hindusim. There I thought it would be best to stop in and inform the young man in the office (whose name has slipped my memory) that we were visiting as part of our course. He welcomed us and explained that today was their celebration of Dewali and that they were expecting close to 500 people. He came out of the office and brought us down the center isle up to the shrine. I couldn t hear much of what he was saying, partly due his accent, but also due to the loud music that was being played by a few worshipers just a few feet away. The shrine was composed of three figures covered in brightly colored decorative ornaments and clothing. The figures stood in a large altar that appeared to be beautifully carved and finished wood that was lined with strips of lights that flickered colored patterns throughout the service. Below the altar was an assortment of foods and fruits, which were aesthetically prepared and plated. I grew up as a military brat, meaning I grew up in a military family. I traveled a lot and I have got to see all types of cultures, and I like them all for different reasons. I was born in Germany, and I love their culture because they are happy with who they are, they have really cool traditions, and I love their food. In Germany, if a person saw a 12 year old drinking alcohol, it is perfectly normal, whereas in our culture, it is wrong if a person saw that happening. Why is that? Well for starters, their country is more developed because they understand how to keep their citizens safe. While I was there, when children had to go to school, someone could see a 5 year old walking to school by themselves. People do not think if their child is going to get kidnapped or killed while they are by themselves. In the U.S., we obviously have a lot of problems with those kinds of things. The use of water in mining has the potential and has been known to affect the quality of surrounding surface water and groundwater. In response to environmental concerns and government regulations, the mining industry worldwide increasingly monitors water discharged from mine sites and has implemented a number of management strategies to prevent water pollution. One such strategy is the use of remote sensing to assess impact of mining activities on land and water resources. Environmental impact assessment is now an integral part of mining operations. • 15. Upgrading Pavement Design 1. Introduction 1.1 Background Before the 1920 s, pavement design consisted mainly of major thicknesses of layered materials to provide strength and protection to weak subgrade. The pavement design was predominantly against subgrade shear failure. During those times, experience based on success and failures of previous projects was used to formulate pavement design methods. As time wore on and experience grew, several design methods based on shear strength were developed. Meanwhile, the increased traffic volume led to changes in the design criteria. In consideration of subgrade support provision, pavement performance through ride quality (smoothness) and surface distresses that increase the deterioration rate of pavement structures had to be evaluated. The attention was then mainly drawn to pavement performance rather than shear strength. Methods based on serviceability were developed based on test track experiments. The AASHTO design guide was then developed after the AASHO Road Test in the late 1950 s. Although test track experiments showed good accuracy, they were valid only for materials and climatic conditions for which they were developed. This called for new materials which also had their own failure modes (e.g permanent deformation and fatigue cracking) to be used in pavement structures, hence the development of new design criteria to incorporate such failure mechanisms. Empirical design, Mechanistic design and Mechanistic Empirical design are the three main ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In fact, the term dropout factory is one that can be found in research articles and news reports across the country. This term has been ascribed to as many as 1,700 high schools nationally (Tyler Lofstrom, 2009). With this volume of schools being labeled as schools that allow, and possibly even stimulate, large number of students not to continue onto graduation with their peers, the question is posed; why are students dropping out? This question does not have one answer, but rather several factors both within and without of the school s control. In North Carolina a student can legally stop going to school at the age of 16. However, this is not a decision that students hastily make, rather it is a gradual process of disengagement (Bridgeland, DiLulio Jr. Morison, 2006). There are many reasons as to why these students choose to dropout, including extenuating circumstances they may not be able to control. North Carolina requires a majority of their districts to have school social workers or counselors document the reasons students provide for dropping out of school. These reasons vary from school attendance having the highest percentage of 40.3, community college enrollment, conflicts with work, unstable home environment, change of location, need to care for children, and incarceration (Public Schools of North Carolina, 2015). When I read the diary I saw that the most caring person was Miep. Kerensky ran the provisional government and it was his lack of judgement, just like the Tsars stupidity and gullibility that let him down. Once he had fought off their uprising with Lenin s plan of Peace for the Army, Bread for the Workers and Land for the Peasants , he thought sending Lenin to exile was sufficient. After Lenin accepted that he had lost his chance to become President, an uprising in Petrograd (Kornilov Affair a point I will go onto in my next paragraph) means Kerensky has to rearm the Bolsheviks in order to retain order. This leaves other countries and supporters of Lenin with a chance to send him back into the country and to try and push the country into another revolution (bringing about communism ideally). Lenin s plan to try to please as many people as possible could come back into effect and this time it had a substantially negative effect on Kerensky s position in Russian parliament. Continuing from my last point, Kerensky s lack of judgement about the Kornilov affair was a definitive error of his. Nonetheless, physical deformities, structural damage, and severe clinical disease activity have been reported equally in both genders. 4 6 However, men with RA have a higher mortality rate and experience a greater number of adverse infections than women, suggesting that they experience more extreme symptoms of the disease 6 7. A possible explanation for this revolves around a discussion regarding the genetic risk factors in men and women for RA. The HLA DRB1*0401/0404 (Human Leukocyte Antigen) genotype is associated with a 26 fold increase in chances of developing RA, but a 90 fold increased risk in men and more than doubled when age at disease onset was below 308. Given this discussion, there may be a certain threshold related to development of RA8. Since being a female is a huge risk factor for RA, males who do develop RA may have a greater number of other risk factors, increasing the severity of the RA that develops in males. Thus, having the HLA DRB1*0401/*0404 genotype comes with a substantially high risk for RA development especially in younger males, possibly explaining the higher mortality rate and greater severity of RA in men compared to women8. It is thus far not clear why these sex differences exist. It has been suggested that these sex differences in RA are merely the result of a self reporting bias in which females possess a different standard for evaluating pain and reporting with greater candor .4 Furthermore, sex differences in pain perception are ... • 29. A Dance Studio Is Hectic Time Of Year Essay A dance studio is hectic this time of year. The excitement of young girls putting on their tutus for the first time to the honor and pride of graduating seniors who are about to perform in their last dance recital. The energy is high and complex. As the seniors rehearsed their senior piece, I watched with other instructors and younger dancers. The younger students looked at them in amazement, dreaming to be in their shoes one day. But something was missing. Someone. I walked back into the lobby and saw her. She sat in a chair behind the front desk in track shorts and a Pittsburg T shirt. Parents of other students walked by congratulating her on her graduation. She smiled graciously and thanked them. Life is unpredictable. One minute you re the star of the studio. A prima ballerina. And the next moment you find yourself in a cast, sitting behind a desk, folding programs. I walked over and sat next to her. Hi, Ms. Kori. Hey, Ashley. Do you mind if we talk for a minute? I have to do an interview for a class. We could go grab some ice cream or coffee. Her face lit up and she had only one word to say. Starbucks. I helped her into Starbucks and took her order. She hobbled over to a table, struggling with her crutches. I walked over to the table with our coffee and sat across from her. Now, let s get started. I said with a smile. I took out my notepad as she patiently sipped her caramel macchiatto. Alright, how ... Virtual Case Files -- Project Triology | 2013 | | | [Trilogy Case] | Virtual Case File | Executive Summary The FBI Information Technology Upgrade Project (FITUP) was initiated in 2000, and, after five years of cascading problems, was abandoned for the Sentinel project in 2005. Estimated to cost $170M, VCF went over budget by approximately $330M (Nelson 2007). The project was meant to modernize the FBI s antiquated computer system and included a case management system, an evidence management system, and a records management system (Marchewka 2010). As we will discuss in the course of our case study, the Trilogy Project would fail for a number of reasons. Despite failing, Project Trilogy is not alone when it comes to project management blunders. According to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Without centralized IT leadership defining program goals, alignment within the agency s IT programs was not possible. Culturally, existing tools, such as the Automated Case Support (ACS) system, were under utilized, and agents did not trust them to protect evidence and confidential sources (OIG Audit Report 05 07, 2005). Numerous techniques exist that would have allowed Trilogy leadership to gain key input from system users, which would have had the dual benefit of creating understanding of the ground level needs of users and fostering user buy in at the project s outset. Formal Project Definition Trilogy management attempted to provide a formal project definition that explained the mission of the project, focused the project planning efforts and outlined the project deliverables. Trilogy was so named due to its three components: the Information Presentation Component (IPC), the Transportation Network Component (TNC) and User Application Component (UAC). The IPC and TNC components were adequately defined, but the UAC was poorly defined, with catastrophic results. Trilogy management recognized that the size and complexity of the project required the use of external resources with proper IT project experience and technical expertise. Two contractors were used, one for the IPC and TNC, and a second for UAC. The IPC/TNC contract included three major milestones as part of a phased rollout: Fast Track, Extended Fast Track and Full Site Capability. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. How Did Steel Change Society Steel has done many incredible things and taken mankind further than we could have ever dreamed. It is used in almost every metal object that we Americans use on a daily basis, and it would be almost impossible to find one without it. Not only that, but steel is also used in many other things throughout America that would not be possible without it. The development of steel was a revolutionary pivotal point in the history of the United States, because it is involved in the creation of steel appliances and objects, buildings and skyscrapers, and the railroad, which was the backbone of early America. To know how steel impacted the world and changed society for the better, you must first know the history of it and how it came to be. Steel is an alloy of iron mixed with primarily carbon and a small amount of other tiny elements. It dates back to have been created almost 4000 years ago ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He was one of the key players that led way for the industrialization for America as we know it. One could tell that steel was so important, because he became one of the richest men to ever step foot in America back in his time, solely because of this product. Antisocial Personality Disorder Case Study Treatment recommendations for antisocial personality disorder, based on the patient s case, is a medication such as lithium carbonate, which has been found to reduce anger, threatening behavior and combativeness among prisoners (Black, 2013). Psychotherapy and cognitive behavioral therapy are other options for treatment, but I would not recommend these for Gemma because of her background, environment, and stubborn personality. Prognosis is not very good because of two contributing factors. First, because the disorder is characterized by a failure to conform to society s norms, people with this disorder are often incarcerated because of criminal behavior. Secondly, a lack of insight into the disorder is very common. People with antisocial personality disorder typically see the world as having the problems, not him or herself, and therefore rarely seek treatment. • 35. Analysis Of Terrence Malick s The Tree Of Life Terrence Malick s The Tree of Life focuses on Jack, played by Sean Penn as a man and Hunter McCracken as a boy, adrift in his life and reflecting on his childhood in 1950s Texas in a nearly two and a half hour drama. Though the film is difficult to follow because of its highly experimental nature, the audience is left with impressions of the film s spectacular visual and aural presence, both of which show evidence of the influence of Christianity, which is omnipresent in the American South. The theme is introduced at the beginning of the film by Mrs. O Brien, played by Jessica Chastain, as she speaks in a gentle voice over about the way of nature and the way of grace. In his book How Should We Then Live?: The Rise and Decline of Western Thought and Culture, famous American theologian Francis Schaeffer concluded that nature is as the lower while grace is the higher (Schaeffer 55). In the religious context of the film, this means that as nature is self serving and representative of humans on earth while grace is other serving and representative of God in heaven. This divide between the way of nature and the way of grace finds itself present in various aspects of the film. While Terrence Malick s The Tree of Life does not offer conventional evidence of the theme because of its experimental nature, the visuals, music, and underscoring of the film support the audience s interpretation of the main theme of nature versus grace. The threat of terrorism is ever present, and an attack is likely to occur when least expected. In trying to find out what factors can cause an individual to choose terrorism, it is first necessary to define what terrorism is. The Department of Defense defines terrorism as the calculated use of violence or threat of violence to inculcate fear; intended to coerce or to intimidate governments or societies in the pursuit of goals that are generally political, religious, or ideological. Per the definition, the terrorists are not giving into a whim of random acts, but these individuals are using calculated moves in order to achieve the purpose of the group. Simply ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This type of motivation is found to be a faith of the terrorist. The individual does not consider the actions taken to achieve the agenda wrong and may tend to project antisocial motivations onto others, creating a polarized we versus they outlook.(3) These members attribute only evil motives to anyone outside the group. The resulting clarity of purpose appeals to those who crave violence to relieve their constant anger. The other common characteristic of the psychologically motivated terrorist is the pronounced need to belong to a group. With some terrorists, group acceptance is a stronger motivator than the stated political objectives of the organization. Such individuals define their social status by group acceptance. More often than not the groups goal may be nearly impossible to achieve. A group that achieves its stated purpose is no longer needed; thus, success threatens the psychological well being of its members. When a terrorist group approaches a stated goal, there may be an inclination to redefine it. The group may reject the achievement as false or inadequate or the result of the duplicity of them . When a solution is close to being reached, objectives change. One effective psychological defense against success is to define goals so broadly that they are impossible to achieve.
