Impact Of Privatization In Sri Lanka
Privatization policy was introduced in Sri Lanka in 1977. The great efforts were taken by the
government after privatization to reform economic policies including allowing private ownership in
the plantation sector, to open the country for foreign direct investment and promoting free trade with
other countries. Three major sectors of the Sri Lankan economy such as agriculture sector, industrial
sector, and service sector were also subjected to economic reforms under this new trend. Several
studies have been conducted to evaluate the impacts of new economic policy in various sectors of Sri
Lanka. Sri Lanka s agriculture export income mainly depends on Tea, Rubber and Coconut
plantations. Further, rice is cultivated as a stable crop of Sri Lanka. 27.1 percent employment is
occupied in Agriculture sector while agriculture sector contributes to 7.1 percent of Gross Domestic
Product of Sri Lanka.

The History of Algebra
The History of Algebra The history of algebra has been around for several decades, this method of
mathematics has been used during the beginning of time. The development of algebraic notation
progressed through out three stages: the rhetorical stage, the syncopated stage, and the symbolic stage
with which we are use to using in our daily usage of algebra. In ancient civilization math was used to
help leaders to strategically form how their troops should be lined up for battle and help decide how to
attack their enemies. Algebra was used in the many of these civilizations: Egypt, Babylon, Greece,
India, Europe, and most parts of the Middle East. In Egypt, the Egyptians used mathematics which
included Algebra to solve equivalent to a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They also were able to prove that the quadratic equations have two roots, and included the negative as
irrational roots. The Hindus used the astrology and astronomy to help determine directions in which
they should live their lives as if it was an almanac. The Hindus used this method of algebraic
equations to determine directions, farming, and behavior among their peers.
The Arabs in the Middle East helped improve the Hindus number symbols and was able to adopted the
same method of algebraic reasoning as the Greeks they reject the negative solutions that the Hindus
were using and would solve the quadratic equations by recognizing two solutions, possibly irrational.
The algebra of the Arabs in the Middle East was entirely rhetorical and like the Hindus, the Arabs
worked freely with irrationals. The Arabs used and improved the Hindus number symbols and the idea
of positional notation. These numerals (the Hindu Arabic system of numeration) which are used
throughout the world today, however the Arabs contribution to the methods that are used in algebra is
the solution of cubic equations by geometric methods involving the intersection of conics. In the 16th
century of the European nations there were great theories about algebra, they rejected the method that
negative numbers could be used in an algebraic equation and many of the mathematicians would
quickly accepted zero as a number but

Death And Death Of Socrates
After reading Plato s Five Dialogues and studying the trial, the imprisonment and death of Socrates I
was left with many wandering thoughts about death. What stood out to me about the trial of Socrates
was his will to never give up on what he believed and Socrate s lack of remorse (borderline humor)
towards the jury or any Athenians who thought otherwise. What stood out to me even more was that
he had no fear of death. In this paper I will argue that death is the ultimate study of philosophy and is
not feared by the true philosopher. I will prove this argument by explaining the base of what it is to be
a philosopher and to be on a philosophical journey, explaining how death and the unknown relates to
philosophical journey, by explaining how death is an product of actions and also using examples from
Plato s Five Dialogues.
Philosophers are forever on a journey for knowledge and all not known. They want to know
everything about knowledge, its nature and the thought process. Merriam Webster dictionary defines a
philosopher as a person who studies ideas about knowledge, truth, the nature and meaning of life, etc.
Philosopher are always reading, studying and asking questions. Philosophers are always reading
because the only way to acquire knowledge (especially during the era of Socrates) was to read. In that
era literacy was not abundant and those who read were seen as knowledgable just as philosophers
were seen as knowledgable. Philosophers studied to forever perfect there

Elder abuse Essay
Elders in the United States should not have to go through situations of abuse like the one Mildred
Mortenson suffered. However, this type of situations happen more often than they should and sadly,
there is not enough being done to prevent it. Elder abuse should be recognized as an increasing and
very serious problem in our society. As elders grow more physically frail and begin to depend on
others to meet their basic needs, they tend to become vulnerable to intentional abuse and neglect
within their own home as well as assisted living facilities such as nursing homes. Unfortunately, it is
not possible to know exactly how many elders are being abused across the Nation. Due to under
reporting, variations in the definition of elder abuse, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, elder abuse is also common among the millions of elder Americans who reside in nursing
homes. A study where 2,000 nursing home residents were interviewed, reported that 44% of the
residents had been abused and 95% said they had been neglected or seen another resident neglected.
They also state that 91% of nursing homes lack adequate staff to properly care for patients and 36%
are known to have been in violation of elderly abuse laws (National Center on Elder Abuse). This
information is extremely alarming. If these facts have already been uncovered, why is it that no one is
doing anything to prevent this from happening to others? To better understand the scope of the
problem, it is crucial that society knows what is considered as elder abuse and why it is important to
resolve this issue. Elder abuse refers to any intentional or negligent act by a caregiver or any other
person that causes harm or a risk of harm to a vulnerable adult. There are many forms in which an
elder can be abused, Elder Abuse and Neglect Journal of Psychosocial Nursing Mental Health
Services distinguishes between the five most common types of elder abuse as well as their effects
and/or common signs and symptoms for each. These types of abuse include physical abuse,

Techniques For New Product Development
3.3: Techniques for New Product Development:
There are many techniques of new product development in a new market effectively such as test
market, experimentation, learning from failure, entrepreneurial culture, observation and co creating
etc. (Kahn, 2012). The best new product development techniques for Tommy Hilfiger in respect of
expanding its business in Dubai in relation with its clothing line are as follow:
1. Test Market: This technique involve implementation of marketing plan and strategy on sample or in
little population before conducting full marketing plan on the population (Fuller, 2016). In simple,
Tommy Hilfiger can market some samples of its clothing line products to the sample population and
then analyse the results.

Distribution Strategy:
Tommy Hilfiger should follow indirect distribution channel as this approach would enable the
company to market its new clothing line to wider area and would minimise competition and save cost.
Communication Strategy:
Advertising is the best way to communicate with people and to aware them with a brand. Tommy
Hilfiger should advertise and promote its product in Dubai via print and electronic media by involving
celebrities of the region which would increase its cluster of customers.

Figurative Language In The Chocolate War By Robert Cormier
In the novel The Chocolate War by Robert Cormier, the characters are over exaggerated, to state a
clear point that this is not a normal story. The story does not follow a regular story line, but one that
Robert Cormier decides is fit in his mind and he over exaggerates it aswell for an effect to state his
point that, not every time you disturb the universe something good comes out.
Robert Cormier wanted the characters be different, he did not make them how others wanted, being
socially acceptable, he wrote the book how he thought it should have went in his mind, and doing so
he gave the readers some new to read not just the everyday novel. Cormier gives the reader many
examples of figurative language to express the real meaning of the story for example, Caroni watched
the chalk in Brother Leon s hands, the way the teacher pressed it, rolled it, his fingers like the legs of
spiders with a victim in their clutch. (90) In this quote Cormier gives a similar to exaggerate about
how Brother Leon was holding the chalk in his hands. It sends a powerful message to the reader that
Brother Leon is a horrible man, who had no mercy and he is seen by others as a powerful
administrator in the school using quid pro quo in his own evil type of way. Cormier also uses more
figurative language to give a specific emotion that Cormier was trying to express throughout his
novel, that not every time someone disturbs the universe something good comes out of it. What
happened with Renault was bad enough, but there was violence in the air. (209) This quote is the the
example that even though Renault did disturb the universe and did try to stop the chocolate sale, he
failed and something bad happened to him for trying. In the end Jerry s attempts to stop the chocolate
sales failed, and still there was still violence in the air meaning the enemy he tried to defeat was angry,
but still undefeated. And many readers dislike Cormiers way to end the book in a way that the hero
does not defeat the villain(s). Like Richard Peck said The young will understand the outcome. They
won t like it but they ll understand. (10) And this is exactly what Cormier had in mind when he was
writing the book, that the readers wouldn t like the ending, but

Gender Roles And Gender Role Stereotypes
Gender role stereotypes have a negative impact on society by media, movies, commercials, for
instance, Kylie Jenner is a perfect example in which she felt insecure about her body and facial
features to where she was under the constant scrutiny of the media comparing her features to the likes
of her sisters which are, full lips, large back side and hips and petite nose as well as arched eyebrows.
For example, youth girls are seen and reprimanded to play with Barbie dolls, babying equipment and
supplies, nursing tools and adorable plush dogs and teddy bears, on the other hand boys are seen
playing big and bad wrestlers and G.I. Joe action figures with toy guns and knives, soccer balls, basket
balls, and baseballs things that would be outlandish and unusual for girls to be seen playing with. This
also sets a bad example for teenagers and adults and makes them want to do the same because these
are the people they look up to and want to follow in their footsteps. Meanwhile, movies give off a
negative effect for example, in the Walt Disney film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Snow White
is cast out by a jealous step mother who only cares about superficial beauty. Snow White ends up
cooking and cleaning for the seven men dwarfs , while their off at work and despite the fact that she s
been warned of evil, she s easily tricked by the witch in disguise, of course in the end, she gets saved
by a man.
Everything from certain ethnic groups and cultures have a gender role

A diagnosis is well explained and interventions are also timely scheduled, but there is not enough
information on expected outcomes from each intervention. Intervention: A well designed therapeutic
treatment plan was implemented following thorough examination, evaluation, and diagnosis. Initially,
the patient was given grade IV manual mobilization in the affected thoracolumbar (T10 to L2
vertebrae) region to reduce the pain and minimize spinal restriction (Doubleday et al., 2003). Also, the
PT added psoas muscle stretching in prone position and pelvis was stabilized with the mobilization
belt. In later visits, the PT added the trunk, abdominal and lower extremity muscle strengthening
exercises in different positions, and balance exercises in single and double limb standing. 3. Visceral
pain originates from the internal body organs such as respiratory, digestive, urogenital, and endocrine
systems, the spleen, the heart, and the great blood vessels (Goodman Snyder, 2013). Visceral pain is
not localized, and it usually produces referred pain. Initially, the signs of visceral disease can be
observed as sensory, motor, and/or trophic changes in skin, subcutaneous tissues, and muscles, and the
symptoms can be itching, dysesthesia, skin temperature changes, or dry skin (Goodman Snyder, 2013,
p.113). Signs and symptoms of visceral problems are associated with Autonomic Nervous System
responses such as the change in pulse rate,

The proper functioning of the IL2RG gene is vital for the continuous development of immune cells,
specifically the T cells and B cells mentioned above. (Cavazzana et al. 2016)
The IL 2R receptor triggers the maturation, activation, and homeostasis of the T cells. The
development, differentiation, and survival of B cells is activated by the IL 4R receptor via the IRS2,
PI3K, and STAT6 signaling cascade. The IL 7R receptor controls the differentiation between the T
cells and the B cells. The activation of natural killer (NK) cells, direction of T cell response, and
guidance of B cells comes from the IL 15R receptor. Finally, the IL 21R receptor amplifies the T cell
and B cell response to antigens present in the body. (Mou et al. 2017) One or a multiple of these
processes could be affected by a mutation causing X linked SCID. As many as fifteen percent of cases
involve defects of the IL 7R receptor. (Lebet et al. 2008)
Multiple types of mutations can occur within the IL2RG gene. These include point mutations,
deletions and insertions, and splice mutations. The deletions and insertions are seen on both a
microscopic scale (one exon) or a macroscopic scale (four or more exons.) Five major locations for
point mutations include cDNA 684T, cDNA 690T, cDNA 691T, cDNA 868A, and cDNA 879T, all of
which are CG dinucleotides. Mutations of exon3( 15)g, the branch point adenosine, is also a common

History of the Treatment of Special Education in Public Schools
The Educate America Act was passed in 1994 and was a step toward equality of education between

represents a national framework for education reform to improve our system, policies, standards, and
most importantly, outcomes for all students. This legislation outlined goals that were very broad and
simplistic, but also inspiring to many people. This act did not specifically address the issue of the

Naughton Thesis Statement
Thesis Statement: Naughton s overall goal in this article was for the audience to consider both sides of
the argument and create their own belief upon the matter by using rhetorical choices such as appealing
to expert opinions, statistics used in a poll, the tone and advanced diction.
Quote 1: Although there is much still to understand about the brain, the impact of the internet has
helped us to learn new ways of measuring its organization as a network. It has also begun to show us
that the human brain probably does not represent some unique pinnacle of complexity but may have
more in common than we might have guessed with many other information processing networks
(Naughton 445).
Analysis 1: I will use this in my first body paragraph as a example of the rhetorical choice appeal to
expert opinion with the expert expressing the internet affects the brain in a positive way. The majority
of the article and the overall rhetorical choice used by Naughton is the use of different opinions of
experts and writers to strength the article s credibility. Naughton displays the statements of both
arguments which can pursued the reader to form their own opinion depending on which experts point
of view appealed to them. In this quotes case, the writer of this statement is Ed Bullmore, a liscenced

argument in a psychological stand point. His statement that the impact of the internet has

Canada s First Nations Safe Water Crisis Essay
Canada, like so many other countries in the world continues to deal with many different
environmental resource issues. Throughout our history, one of the issues affecting our country has
been the treatment of our First Nations people. For the purpose of this paper, the focus will be on the
safe water crisis facing Canada s First Nations communities. The Oxford Dictionary (2016) defines a
crisis as a time of great difficulty or danger. The research included will help clarify the reality of the
Canada s First Nations safe water crisis. Despite some improvements over the past few decades, many
of our First Nation citizens still lack access to safe and clean water. Our reserves have water that is
contaminated, difficult to access or toxic because of outdated and faulty treatment systems. (Klasing,
2016) This safe water crisis is in need of immediate attention. It is Canada s responsibility to provide
the right to clean and safe water for all of its citizens.
To understand the current state of the safe water issue for our First Nation people, it is important to
look at some current statistics. The Council of Canadians (2015) reports that as of January 2015, there
have been 169 drinking water advisories in 126 First Nation communities. With Ontario having the
highest number 79, followed by British Columbia 35, Saskatchewan 24, Alberta 17, the Atlantic 7 and
Quebec 2. (p. 6) The graphic below helps us see the severity of the issue by showing the drinking

civil rights, sex birth, marriage, domestic roles, children education, death burial, religious proceedings
and slaves prostitutes allows us to determine whether or not a history of women in Athenian society is
possible? In addition, from the evidence it can be concluded as both a YES and NO . Therefore, YES,
a history of Athenian women is possible because all the literary documentation written by Athenian
men, allows us to see men s portrayal of Athenian women as counterfactual and acrimonious.
Therefore, it is also a NO; a history of Athenian women is not possible because women s biographies
could never been depicted. although there

Glial Cell Lab Report
Stay Down! Stay Down! Nice little mouse, Doctor Goldman said wearily as he stumbled to the floor.
NO! NO!, he shouted and then it went silent. The whole experiment started off to show how human
glial cell transplants could help cure diseases like alzheimer s and multiple sclerosis.Glial cells make
up over eighty percent of the brain cells with neurons making up the roughly other twenty percent.
The glial cells are responsible for guarding and protecting the neurons. The hope was that because the
human glial cells are able to insulate neurons better that the signals that the mouse sends to the rest of
the body would be more clear and allow the mouse to perform tasks with a better success rate. That
would also show that if you donated glial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Importance Of Perseverance
Perseverance is failing 19 times then succeeding the 20th time Julie Andrews. This means that you are
going to hit many bumps in the road but there is always times where you can push through and make
the most of their life. As defined by Dictionary.com perseverance is a steady persistence in a course of
action, a purpose, a state, etc., especially in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement. The
synonyms are Dedication , Determination , and Diligence . The antonyms for this word are Apathy ,
Cowardice , and Weakness . This is important because people need to persevere to get through life s
tough challenges and make the most of it even when times are tough. In the real world this looks like
people trying to get through the day even though money is tight. This doesn t not look like people just
sitting around not doing anything to try to help themselves if they don t have job. The first example
where perseverance is shown is that when in the book Glory Road Coach Don Haskins was
scrimmaging at college and he is left in all day with no breaks. Later when he got home he took off his
sock and the skin on the ball of his foot fell off because he ran so much. The next day he goes to the
athletic trainer s room and tapes the skin back on his feet. The second example where perseverance is
shown is when the Japanese Americans were persecuted during WWII based on their nationality and
people lost their jobs, businesses, and were left with nothing and were

Rogue One Genre
A new teaser of sorts for Rogue One dropped and it s the sort of behind the scenes sizzle reel that I go
nuts for. You ve got folks on sets, folks in costumes, folks with prop guns; all that good stuff. cuz
when you combine Star Wars with moviemaking stuff, you re really going right up my alley. It also
helps that I m incredibly psyched for Rogue One. Right off the bat, there s the obvious thing that I
love the cast s diversity. It fills my soul with glee to know that there are two Chinese actors in a new
Star Wars movie, along with people from all over the place. Not just that, but that these characters
aren t just window dressing but people people. Who, based on what we ve seen, get to do cool stuff. At
the risk of sounding like a broken ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But, what Edwards is bringing to Rogue One is a tremendous sense of scale. What both Monsters and
Godzilla do incredibly well is contain an immense sense of scale. When you finally see the titular
monsters at the very end they re treated as being absolutely sublime. There s a wonderful mixture of
terror and awe that s nothing short of memorable. Godzilla too gave the famous kaiju a special kind of
awe, making him feel like an unstoppable force of nature. Star Wars has usually been about the heroes
and the Jedi, the big players in the galaxy. Rogue One steps away from that and tackles more ordinary
rebels (or at least the Rebellion affiliated) in their fight against the Empire. These aren t people who
can cut a hole in an AT AT with a lightsaber. For these heroes, an AT AT is really bad news. This is
where Edwards shines. Look at the way he portrays the AT ATs in that first trailer, those machines are
huge, destructive monstrosities. If the Empire is going to be this unstoppable military force, then this
is the guy to be directing the

The Culture at Google
Culture at Google Has there not enough been spoken about the culture at Google?
The core of this culture lies in the Founder s philosophy. Google is ruled by its founders. In the book
What would Google do? by Jeff Jarvis, there is wonderful line that goes like There is an inverse
relationship between control and trust. Trust is established in the process of attracting people to the
site and more people that come, the more companies flock to the internet and thus the search engine.
This is called a two sided network effect. One cannot survive without the other.
This mutual relationship based on transparency and sharing is the core of the movement. Google
served as the platform necessary for the interaction between both the sides (the producers and
consumers). It gave people control and they used it. The founders of Google worked on this principle.
Google is not a slave to Wall Street The reason being Google builds a corporate culture that will
deliver its mission, and that it is principally organized to drive innovation.
Practices at Google
Since Engineers form half of the organization and as they like to do cool things, they can bid to work
on anything they want to after their first year at Google. In this case the popular projects get more
attention whereas the lesser popular ones don t get attention. It is on the Project leads to sell their ideas
to the engineers so that it appeals to their engineers.
Innovation is the key driver at Google. As I mentioned

Essay on The Brown Spider Monkey
The brown spider monkey is a species of spider monkey that inhabits areas of the continent of South
America. The scientific name of the spider monkey is Ateles, while that of the brown spider monkey is
Ateles hybridus. The habitat of the brown spider monkey consists of the undisturbed evergreen
rainforests located in the subtropical and tropical lowlands of both Colombia and Venezuela. There are
two subspecies of the brown spider monkey, Ateles hybridus hybridus and Ateles hybridus brunneus.
(According to_____) Hybridus hybridus inhabits both Colombia and Venezuela in rainforests
extending from the right of the banks of the Rio Magdalena River into western Venezuela. The latter
subspecies, on the other hand, can only be found in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The hands are hook like, with four elongated, curved, fingers. (The author) then goes on to describe
how the thumb of the brown spider monkey is reduced, which is helps in swinging and gripping
branches while the monkey travels in the upper canopy of the rainforest. The coloration of brown
spider monkeys ranges from light to dark brown on the upper parts of their body and their head, while
the inside of the arms and legs is a slightly lighter color of brown. Some individuals of the brown
spider monkey population also possess the conspicuous characteristic of a white triangular forehead
patch. Behaviorally, the brown spider monkey is a diurnal and very social species. They live in what
are known as fission fusion societies in which smaller groups, up to about 30 members, are formed
during the day. Male spider monkeys usually travel in all male groups while females travel with other
females and their offspring, though it is not necessarily unusual to find a brown spider monkey
traveling or foraging alone. At night, brown spider monkeys sleep in trees in the high canopy away
from most predators. They choose a location to sleep that is near a fruit tree so they do not have to
travel far the next day to find food. Differences in sizes of these groups occur due to varying
availability of fruit. When fruit is abundant, the groups tend to be larger and when the amount of fruit
is limited they

The World s First Army
Assyrian War Techniques
Assyria s humble beginnings originated in a small trading community in the city of Ashur, in modern
day Iraq. Nestled on the banks of the Tigris River with access to merchants, trade, and agricultural
stability Ashur was named and supposedly founded by Noah s son after the Great Flood. It was here
that Assyria started its branching of power and influence to spread its conquests as far south as Egypt
and as far east as Asia Minor. The Assyrian Army, along with its numerous rulers became the greatest
empire in the world at the time. Before the Greek and Roman Empires dominated the region,
Assyrians were the most ruthless and feared people with their skilled war tactics. Known as the world

Several kings of the Assyria empire, such as Tiglath Pileser III, Shalmaneser V,Sargon II, Sennacherib,
and Esarhaddon, are mentioned a number of times throughout the Bible as nemeses of the Israelites..
(Mark). The cuneiforms from the Assyrians and the books from the Bible differ greatly in their telling
of these stories of the kings and their encounters, especially Sennacherib s writings regarding Judah s
conquests verses the chronicles from book of Isaiah 37.
The various war tactics of the Assyrian army received many historic mentions as being perverse, cruel
and barbaric. However, throughout history these same tactics have been repeated and effective in
almost every major military esque nation since. This leads one to ponder if they were setting the bar or
establishing a recipe for future failures.
A commonality of the tactics in battle from the Assyrian army was to storm a village or society with
all their might and force and leave it burning to the ground, taking whatever spoils suited them. This
displayed a message to the slaves whom they captured to share with other neighboring civilizations to
not fight back or defend their region. In one story recounted by Ashur Nasir Pal II, who made a habit
of deporting people from their native homelands and sending them to random regions throughout the
empire

Scissorhands and Charlie and The Chocolate Factory , Tim Burton uses shots and framing to show the
main characters distinct personalities in order to show to contrast between individuals and societal
expectations. Tim Burton uses an establishing shot in Charlie and The Chocolate Factory to set the
scene or establish the location. For example, when Willy Wonka shows the chocolate room to the
children, the viewer can see the full scope of his creation.

Chapman s article explains the truth behind coerced false confessions, which involves suspects
admitting to a crime they did not commit. With true examples and specific explanations and
descriptions, Chapman shows just how suspects feel their only option is a fabricated confession.
Through interrogations, police can involve threats, manipulation, persuasion, and several other
methods to make a person confess. Factors such as stress and fear can also cause suspects to confess.
In some cases, innocent suspects even come to believe they are guilty due to incorrect interrogation
methods. This article is not all about police forcing people to confess though, it also explains how
police are put under a tremendous amount of pressure to get a confession out of someone, any person
who will confess. Therefore, they do anything they can to get the confession they so ... Show more

Dr. Mullins Case Study
Allana saw Dr. Mullins six times during the month of March on 03/03/16, 03/07/16, 03/10/16,
03/14/16, 03/21/16 and on 03/28/16. On 03/07/16, Allana told him that her ultimate goal would be to
run longer than 20 minutes without her back buckling . She also explained to him that high intensity
workouts were her favorite. Throughout the month of March, she continued to have spasms and pain
in her upper back, lower back, and in her neck. Her ribs also continued to be very sore. Her diagnoses
on 03/21/16 was pain in the lower back, and muscle spasms in her back, neck and mid back. Her
diagnosis also included segmental and somatic dysfunction of the head, cervical, thoracic and lumbar
spine, her sacrum and sprain of her ribs. In April, she went to see Dr. Mullins on 04/04/16 and
04/18/16. By 04/18/16, she was slightly better as far as the intensity of her pain, but she still had pain
and the muscle spasms still plagued her up and down her spine. Allana was re examined on 05/02/16.

The treatments made her feel better for a short lived duration, but the problems always came back. She
wanted to see another doctor, or a specialist who could provide some answers, but as a newly married
couple, she and Brock did not have the money to pay for the high cost of medical care. What is
painfully clear in her records is that her spine is damaged, and her life has drastically changed. One
day she is doing slightly better, but within a day, or just a few days, she is not doing so well again.
This is so tiring for Allana. She cannot plan ahead or know if she will have a good day over any
weekend to plan something fun. If she happens to have a good day and takes advantage of it, she ends
up having a bad day the next day. If it weren t for this wreck, she could plan anything she wanted on
any day that she wanted without having to worry about whether or not her body can physically handle

Russi A Great And Catherine The Great
Russia has seen its fair share of autocratic monarchs as well, such as Peter the Great and Catherine the
Great. Peter first ascended the throne as co czar with his half brother Ivan V in the death of their
brother Feodore. Their elder sister, Sophia, was the most capable to take the throne. But being a girl,
she was unable to do so and could only rule as regent for the two princes turned czars. While Sophia
ruled, Peter spent his days building forts on the banks of a river outside of Moscow. He played war
games using them, recruiting in boys and arming them with real guns. The games were dangerous; 24
boys were once killed in a single game. But the games eventually paid off, and Peter had himself two
self trained armies that he used to overthrow Sophia and rule the throne himself. The regent was
forced into an enclosed convent, living as a nun for the rest of her days (Russia, Land of Tsars: Time
of Troubles).
Life in Russia had changed very little since the Middle Ages. Russia had not experienced a
Renaissance and was quite backwards in terms of lifestyle compared to Western Europe. Peter wanted
to change all that. He viewed the church as an impediment to progress in Russia, wanting to break
their restraining bonds of complex customs and modernize Russia (Russia, Land of Tsars: Time of
Troubles). It s time to constrain the authority not proper to the old man [i.e., the patriarch]; God
willing, it is for me to reform the laity and the clergy, for them I am both master and

  • 2. Impact Of Privatization In Sri Lanka Privatization policy was introduced in Sri Lanka in 1977. The great efforts were taken by the government after privatization to reform economic policies including allowing private ownership in the plantation sector, to open the country for foreign direct investment and promoting free trade with other countries. Three major sectors of the Sri Lankan economy such as agriculture sector, industrial sector, and service sector were also subjected to economic reforms under this new trend. Several studies have been conducted to evaluate the impacts of new economic policy in various sectors of Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka s agriculture export income mainly depends on Tea, Rubber and Coconut plantations. Further, rice is cultivated as a stable crop of Sri Lanka. 27.1 percent employment is occupied in Agriculture sector while agriculture sector contributes to 7.1 percent of Gross Domestic Product of Sri Lanka. ... • 3. The History of Algebra The History of Algebra The history of algebra has been around for several decades, this method of mathematics has been used during the beginning of time. The development of algebraic notation progressed through out three stages: the rhetorical stage, the syncopated stage, and the symbolic stage with which we are use to using in our daily usage of algebra. In ancient civilization math was used to help leaders to strategically form how their troops should be lined up for battle and help decide how to attack their enemies. Algebra was used in the many of these civilizations: Egypt, Babylon, Greece, India, Europe, and most parts of the Middle East. In Egypt, the Egyptians used mathematics which included Algebra to solve equivalent to a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They also were able to prove that the quadratic equations have two roots, and included the negative as irrational roots. The Hindus used the astrology and astronomy to help determine directions in which they should live their lives as if it was an almanac. The Hindus used this method of algebraic equations to determine directions, farming, and behavior among their peers. The Arabs in the Middle East helped improve the Hindus number symbols and was able to adopted the same method of algebraic reasoning as the Greeks they reject the negative solutions that the Hindus were using and would solve the quadratic equations by recognizing two solutions, possibly irrational. The algebra of the Arabs in the Middle East was entirely rhetorical and like the Hindus, the Arabs worked freely with irrationals. The Arabs used and improved the Hindus number symbols and the idea of positional notation. These numerals (the Hindu Arabic system of numeration) which are used throughout the world today, however the Arabs contribution to the methods that are used in algebra is the solution of cubic equations by geometric methods involving the intersection of conics. In the 16th century of the European nations there were great theories about algebra, they rejected the method that negative numbers could be used in an algebraic equation and many of the mathematicians would quickly accepted zero as a number but ... • 4. Death And Death Of Socrates After reading Plato s Five Dialogues and studying the trial, the imprisonment and death of Socrates I was left with many wandering thoughts about death. What stood out to me about the trial of Socrates was his will to never give up on what he believed and Socrate s lack of remorse (borderline humor) towards the jury or any Athenians who thought otherwise. What stood out to me even more was that he had no fear of death. In this paper I will argue that death is the ultimate study of philosophy and is not feared by the true philosopher. I will prove this argument by explaining the base of what it is to be a philosopher and to be on a philosophical journey, explaining how death and the unknown relates to philosophical journey, by explaining how death is an product of actions and also using examples from Plato s Five Dialogues. Philosophers are forever on a journey for knowledge and all not known. They want to know everything about knowledge, its nature and the thought process. Merriam Webster dictionary defines a philosopher as a person who studies ideas about knowledge, truth, the nature and meaning of life, etc. Philosopher are always reading, studying and asking questions. Philosophers are always reading because the only way to acquire knowledge (especially during the era of Socrates) was to read. In that era literacy was not abundant and those who read were seen as knowledgable just as philosophers were seen as knowledgable. Philosophers studied to forever perfect there ... • 5. Elder abuse Essay Elders in the United States should not have to go through situations of abuse like the one Mildred Mortenson suffered. However, this type of situations happen more often than they should and sadly, there is not enough being done to prevent it. Elder abuse should be recognized as an increasing and very serious problem in our society. As elders grow more physically frail and begin to depend on others to meet their basic needs, they tend to become vulnerable to intentional abuse and neglect within their own home as well as assisted living facilities such as nursing homes. Unfortunately, it is not possible to know exactly how many elders are being abused across the Nation. Due to under reporting, variations in the definition of elder abuse, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, elder abuse is also common among the millions of elder Americans who reside in nursing homes. A study where 2,000 nursing home residents were interviewed, reported that 44% of the residents had been abused and 95% said they had been neglected or seen another resident neglected. They also state that 91% of nursing homes lack adequate staff to properly care for patients and 36% are known to have been in violation of elderly abuse laws (National Center on Elder Abuse). This information is extremely alarming. If these facts have already been uncovered, why is it that no one is doing anything to prevent this from happening to others? To better understand the scope of the problem, it is crucial that society knows what is considered as elder abuse and why it is important to resolve this issue. Elder abuse refers to any intentional or negligent act by a caregiver or any other person that causes harm or a risk of harm to a vulnerable adult. There are many forms in which an elder can be abused, Elder Abuse and Neglect Journal of Psychosocial Nursing Mental Health Services distinguishes between the five most common types of elder abuse as well as their effects and/or common signs and symptoms for each. • 8. Figurative Language In The Chocolate War By Robert Cormier In the novel The Chocolate War by Robert Cormier, the characters are over exaggerated, to state a clear point that this is not a normal story. The story does not follow a regular story line, but one that Robert Cormier decides is fit in his mind and he over exaggerates it aswell for an effect to state his point that, not every time you disturb the universe something good comes out. Robert Cormier wanted the characters be different, he did not make them how others wanted, being socially acceptable, he wrote the book how he thought it should have went in his mind, and doing so he gave the readers some new to read not just the everyday novel. Cormier gives the reader many examples of figurative language to express the real meaning of the story for example, Caroni watched the chalk in Brother Leon s hands, the way the teacher pressed it, rolled it, his fingers like the legs of spiders with a victim in their clutch. (90) In this quote Cormier gives a similar to exaggerate about how Brother Leon was holding the chalk in his hands. It sends a powerful message to the reader that Brother Leon is a horrible man, who had no mercy and he is seen by others as a powerful administrator in the school using quid pro quo in his own evil type of way. Cormier also uses more figurative language to give a specific emotion that Cormier was trying to express throughout his novel, that not every time someone disturbs the universe something good comes out of it. What happened with Renault was bad enough, but there was violence in the air. (209) This quote is the the example that even though Renault did disturb the universe and did try to stop the chocolate sale, he failed and something bad happened to him for trying. In the end Jerry s attempts to stop the chocolate sales failed, and still there was still violence in the air meaning the enemy he tried to defeat was angry, but still undefeated. And many readers dislike Cormiers way to end the book in a way that the hero does not defeat the villain(s). Like Richard Peck said The young will understand the outcome. They won t like it but they ll understand. (10) And this is exactly what Cormier had in mind when he was writing the book, that the readers wouldn t like the ending, but ... • 9. Gender Roles And Gender Role Stereotypes Gender role stereotypes have a negative impact on society by media, movies, commercials, for instance, Kylie Jenner is a perfect example in which she felt insecure about her body and facial features to where she was under the constant scrutiny of the media comparing her features to the likes of her sisters which are, full lips, large back side and hips and petite nose as well as arched eyebrows. For example, youth girls are seen and reprimanded to play with Barbie dolls, babying equipment and supplies, nursing tools and adorable plush dogs and teddy bears, on the other hand boys are seen playing big and bad wrestlers and G.I. Joe action figures with toy guns and knives, soccer balls, basket balls, and baseballs things that would be outlandish and unusual for girls to be seen playing with. This also sets a bad example for teenagers and adults and makes them want to do the same because these are the people they look up to and want to follow in their footsteps. Meanwhile, movies give off a negative effect for example, in the Walt Disney film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Snow White is cast out by a jealous step mother who only cares about superficial beauty. Snow White ends up cooking and cleaning for the seven men dwarfs , while their off at work and despite the fact that she s been warned of evil, she s easily tricked by the witch in disguise, of course in the end, she gets saved by a man. The development, differentiation, and survival of B cells is activated by the IL 4R receptor via the IRS2, PI3K, and STAT6 signaling cascade. The IL 7R receptor controls the differentiation between the T cells and the B cells. The activation of natural killer (NK) cells, direction of T cell response, and guidance of B cells comes from the IL 15R receptor. This legislation outlined goals that were very broad and simplistic, but also inspiring to many people. This act did not specifically address the issue of the education of children with special needs, but addressed goals of the education system and all students. Because students with special needs need just what their label states, a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An IEP is the outcome of a meeting of the student s parents and educators and of the abilities the student has. The student s abilities are evaluated based on how well he does on the assessments given (Olson Platt, 2000). John Woodward and Larry Cuban (2001) say that when assessing a special needs student, we need to also assess their eligibility to use assistive technology. If the child will benefit from the technology, then schools need to provide that technology to the student so that he can do his best. Who would benefit from using assistive technology? What types of special needs do these individuals have? How have we used assistive technology in the past and how will we use it in the future? What are the different views on incorporating assistive technology into the classroom? Right now, you are probably wondering all these things. In the following sections of this paper, I will attempt to address these questions as thoroughly as possible. Different technologies are designed for different needs. Almost any individual with a disability could be assisted by a technology. There are technologies for those who are blind, hard of hearing, or confined to a wheelchair. There are also technologies that help those individuals who have developmental disabilities such as Down s syndrome and autism and many others. Naughton Thesis Statement Thesis Statement: Naughton s overall goal in this article was for the audience to consider both sides of the argument and create their own belief upon the matter by using rhetorical choices such as appealing to expert opinions, statistics used in a poll, the tone and advanced diction. Quote 1: Although there is much still to understand about the brain, the impact of the internet has helped us to learn new ways of measuring its organization as a network. It has also begun to show us that the human brain probably does not represent some unique pinnacle of complexity but may have more in common than we might have guessed with many other information processing networks (Naughton 445). Analysis 1: I will use this in my first body paragraph as a example of the rhetorical choice appeal to expert opinion with the expert expressing the internet affects the brain in a positive way. The majority of the article and the overall rhetorical choice used by Naughton is the use of different opinions of experts and writers to strength the article s credibility. Naughton displays the statements of both arguments which can pursued the reader to form their own opinion depending on which experts point of view appealed to them. In this quotes case, the writer of this statement is Ed Bullmore, a liscenced psychiatrist. • 19. Canada s First Nations Safe Water Crisis Essay Canada, like so many other countries in the world continues to deal with many different environmental resource issues. Throughout our history, one of the issues affecting our country has been the treatment of our First Nations people. For the purpose of this paper, the focus will be on the safe water crisis facing Canada s First Nations communities. The Oxford Dictionary (2016) defines a crisis as a time of great difficulty or danger. The research included will help clarify the reality of the Canada s First Nations safe water crisis. Despite some improvements over the past few decades, many of our First Nation citizens still lack access to safe and clean water. Our reserves have water that is contaminated, difficult to access or toxic because of outdated and faulty treatment systems. (Klasing, 2016) This safe water crisis is in need of immediate attention. It is Canada s responsibility to provide the right to clean and safe water for all of its citizens. To understand the current state of the safe water issue for our First Nation people, it is important to look at some current statistics. The Council of Canadians (2015) reports that as of January 2015, there have been 169 drinking water advisories in 126 First Nation communities. With Ontario having the highest number 79, followed by British Columbia 35, Saskatchewan 24, Alberta 17, the Atlantic 7 and Quebec 2. Conclusion Based on the literary evidence and subject matter presented in this research paper on civil rights, sex birth, marriage, domestic roles, children education, death burial, religious proceedings and slaves prostitutes allows us to determine whether or not a history of women in Athenian society is possible? In addition, from the evidence it can be concluded as both a YES and NO . Therefore, YES, a history of Athenian women is possible because all the literary documentation written by Athenian men, allows us to see men s portrayal of Athenian women as counterfactual and acrimonious. Therefore, it is also a NO; a history of Athenian women is not possible because women s biographies could never been depicted. although there ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This means that you are going to hit many bumps in the road but there is always times where you can push through and make the most of their life. As defined by Dictionary.com perseverance is a steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc., especially in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement. The synonyms are Dedication , Determination , and Diligence . The antonyms for this word are Apathy , Cowardice , and Weakness . This is important because people need to persevere to get through life s tough challenges and make the most of it even when times are tough. In the real world this looks like people trying to get through the day even though money is tight. This doesn t not look like people just sitting around not doing anything to try to help themselves if they don t have job. The first example where perseverance is shown is that when in the book Glory Road Coach Don Haskins was scrimmaging at college and he is left in all day with no breaks. Later when he got home he took off his sock and the skin on the ball of his foot fell off because he ran so much. The next day he goes to the athletic trainer s room and tapes the skin back on his feet. Google is ruled by its founders. In the book What would Google do? by Jeff Jarvis, there is wonderful line that goes like There is an inverse relationship between control and trust. Trust is established in the process of attracting people to the site and more people that come, the more companies flock to the internet and thus the search engine. This is called a two sided network effect. One cannot survive without the other. This mutual relationship based on transparency and sharing is the core of the movement. Google served as the platform necessary for the interaction between both the sides (the producers and consumers). It gave people control and they used it. The founders of Google worked on this principle. Google is not a slave to Wall Street The reason being Google builds a corporate culture that will deliver its mission, and that it is principally organized to drive innovation. • 32. Russi A Great And Catherine The Great Russia has seen its fair share of autocratic monarchs as well, such as Peter the Great and Catherine the Great. Peter first ascended the throne as co czar with his half brother Ivan V in the death of their brother Feodore. Their elder sister, Sophia, was the most capable to take the throne. But being a girl, she was unable to do so and could only rule as regent for the two princes turned czars. While Sophia ruled, Peter spent his days building forts on the banks of a river outside of Moscow. He played war games using them, recruiting in boys and arming them with real guns. The games were dangerous; 24 boys were once killed in a single game. But the games eventually paid off, and Peter had himself two self trained armies that he used to overthrow Sophia and rule the throne himself. The regent was forced into an enclosed convent, living as a nun for the rest of her days (Russia, Land of Tsars: Time of Troubles). Life in Russia had changed very little since the Middle Ages. Russia had not experienced a Renaissance and was quite backwards in terms of lifestyle compared to Western Europe. Peter wanted to change all that. He viewed the church as an impediment to progress in Russia, wanting to break their restraining bonds of complex customs and modernize Russia (Russia, Land of Tsars: Time of Troubles).
