In the era of gotcha politics, a scandal is sometimes inevitable for many politicians. Many reporters
snoop around the lives of these politicians rumored to have done something worthy of a scandal in
hopes of becoming the next Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein. This has led to many politicians
becoming involved in scandals that are not true scandals but an attempt from the reporter to become
known as the person who broke the scandal and brought a big politician down. However, more times
than not, scandals involving politicians materialize into full blown scandals that require mass media
attention and deep investigation from the authorities. These scandals include financial, political, or sex

the matter but he did hire a private security firm to look into the incident because he felt it was a

4. The Purpose Of The Education System
Schools have always been the cornerstone of American society and teachers the masons. However, the
motive of the educational system has been scrutinized over the years. There are many theories about
its purpose. From following school rules, to learning critical thinking skills, everything that the
schools facilitate and teachers teach are societal aspirations. These are the goals that are taught to
reach the underlying purpose. The purpose of the educational system is that of a political nature; it is
to produce citizens that are capable of maintaining and participating in a democracy.
From its inception, the American school system became a tool, a tool for our societal whims. George

needs to be broken down into its components for further understanding. What does the word compete
mean? Upon reflection, it seems to conjure principles that lean towards producing citizens to ensure
America s ability to compete in a global economy. What does the word global mean? The idea of
someone who is global transfers that person s responsibility from their local and national capabilities
to a broader sense. It implies that regardless of location in terms of geography, class, gender or
ethnicity that a person s sole duty is to the world. (Skrbiš, 2014, p. 6). This is in strict contrast to the
understanding of citizenship. So what does the word citizen mean? One of the key features of
citizenship is a explicit relationship to a political community (Dower, 2000, p. 556). A citizen must
have a nation, one in which legally recognizes them as such. There is no One World Nation and
therefore can be no global citizens. The concept of the global citizen , its unexpressed convictions for

masons. Sadly, however, It will only take form in a world that can nurture it and see it through to

The past semester a core class I took was Politics of Climate Change. I ve learned many new ideas and
concepts about climate change. Now that I am educated on the matter and can form my own opinion, I
was curious about what the people I surround myself with think about climate change. I asked many
different people about their thoughts and opinions on climate change. I questioned my tutors, stem
major friends, my parents, and siblings. I was most interested with what my mother, Oyindamola

interested in what my immigrant, democratic, and religious mother would say on the tasking situation.
My sister is a high school biology teacher in California who graduated from TCNJ in 2014 with a

their views and how they came to them. Incidentally, the woman of my family all believe that climate
change is real and an important matter at hand. We all think it should be handled and decided on now

9. Open Letters Editor Chapter Summary
In this article, Eaton expresses his personal opinion about the memoir, suggesting that the memoir s
major flaw is its tendency to act as an inspiration for readers and, simultaneously, provide Christian
guidelines to readers way too often. Throughout the review, Eaton points out all the flaws about this
memoir to support his argument, such as how Brees does not allow the reader to analyze his memoir
by explicitly stating his main points at the end of every paragraph. Written by Jeffrey Eaton, an Open

Eaton argues, in depth, how the memoir is not very effective in inspiring readers since they, according
to Eaton, cannot take the memoir seriously. In order to convey his point of view, he uses many
methods to do so, such as providing truthful facts, using quotes as evidence, and choosing a particular
writing style for his review. According to Rachel Whittaker, Drew Brees defines what adversity is and
its powerful influence. In her article, she summarizes all the setbacks the athlete had to go through in

Brees shoulder injury lead him to the New Orleans Saints and winning the Super Bowl, about
rebuilding New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, and discussing his mother s suicide. By providing
Brees insight on these setbacks and quotes about faith, Whittaker depicts Brees as the ideal Christian
role model Being a general assignment sports reporter for New Orleans, Whittaker is qualified in the

Mackie states that evil must essentially exit of good exist since they are rational counterparts.

15. The Priest And The Great King By Lisbeth S. Fried
The Priest and the Great King by Lisbeth S. Fried faces the question as to how the Persians dealt with
the Jews after the absorption of Judea from the conquest of Babylon. The texts from Hebrew sources
suggested the Persian had a sense of reverence for the Jews which was unlike the others. Attempting
to use sources other than the Tanach is difficult as there is not much in the way of Persian sources
concerning the Jews and Judea but there is some.
The province of Judea was called Yehud under Persian rule, and may have been called such under
Babylonian rule. The primary source of Persian kindness to the Jews was found in the proclamation
made by Cyrus. While there is a Persian record of the decree, the actual language is different than how
it is shown in the Tanach. The Cyrus cylinder does not suggest Yehud was singled out as being freed
from slavery nor were they singled out as being permitted to rebuild temples which were destroyed
under Babylonian rule .
All of this opens the door for Frieds s main question, how did Yehud s government change from the
time of conquest under Babylon to the arrival of Alexander the Great. Was it due to some autonomy
given by the king or was it in spite of rules placed by the king, was this change unique; was there a
change at all? The physical damage was minimal, but the psychological damage caused by the
destruction of the temple and the exile of the priests, royal family, and other like individuals was
significant. After Babylon was

World War II, Keetman continued the studies after 1945, receiving a master diploma in 1948.
Alongside Ludwig Windstoßer or Otto Steinert, among other members of the Fotoform, Keetman
became one of the most influential proponents of the innovative approach within the medium, and
partook exhibitions Subjective Photography (1951) and the festival Photokina in Cologne. Soon after,
commissioned by Volkswagen, he produced one of his well known series A week at the Factory

exhibitions at the Kunsthalle Rostock (2015), Folkwang Museum in Essen (2012), Museum Tinguely

21. The Narration In Faulkner s A Rose For Emily
III. In section three, the narrator continues to talk about Emily s love life and a possible affair she had
with a man. The narrator in a rose for Emily talks about Homer Barron ...a Yankee big, dark, ready
man, with a big voice and eyes lighter than his face... (Mays 632). Homer Barron is Emily s possible
spouse. According to the narrator and the town, Homer and Emily were seen together and there were
signs of marriage. Because of the descriptive way the narrator expresses, we can infer that the narrator
is talking in first person. Opponents of this idea, claim that the narrator is not human or humans.
According to the article The Narrator in A Rose for Emily , ...the narrator is not persons at all but an
archaic consciousness... (Sullivan 166). What author Sullivan believes is that because author Faulkner
in A Rose for Emily, did not give the narrator a gender, face, or age, the narrator must be from only
one dimension. The Author also claims that the word ...[we] disappears into the texture of the story
(Sullivan 166). However, narrator uses the word we in section three when he says at first we were glad
that miss Emily would have an interest... because miss Emily had been single at her thirty year of ...

The author was very objective on how he wanted the story to develop. Both the reader and the narrator
discovered the truth at the end when the secret was revealed. Only author Faulkner new the mystery in
this story. A far as who the narrator was, Faulkner made it almost impossible for us to decipher, but
thanks to literature experts, we made it possible to discover the narrator as close to our availability.

people in town. Therefore, the narrator is a first person plural point of

22. A Dance Studio Is Hectic Time Of Year Essay
A dance studio is hectic this time of year. The excitement of young girls putting on their tutus for the
first time to the honor and pride of graduating seniors who are about to perform in their last dance
recital. The energy is high and complex. As the seniors rehearsed their senior piece, I watched with
other instructors and younger dancers. The younger students looked at them in amazement, dreaming
to be in their shoes one day. But something was missing. Someone. I walked back into the lobby and
saw her. She sat in a chair behind the front desk in track shorts and a Pittsburg T shirt. Parents of other
students walked by congratulating her on her graduation. She smiled graciously and thanked them.
Life is unpredictable. One minute you re the star of the studio. A prima ballerina. And the next
moment you find yourself in a cast, sitting behind a desk, folding programs. I walked over and sat next
to her. Hi, Ms. Kori. Hey, Ashley. Do you mind if we talk for a minute? I have to do an interview for a
class. We could go grab some ice cream or coffee. Her face lit up and she had only one word to say.
Starbucks. I helped her into Starbucks and took her order. She hobbled over to a table, struggling with
her crutches. I walked over to the table with our coffee and sat across from her. Now, let s get started. I
said with a smile. I took out my notepad as she patiently sipped her caramel macchiatto. Alright, how

23. Function Of Insurance Essay
INSURANCE
CONCEPT: Insurance is a form of risk management primarily used to hedge against the risk of a
contingent, uncertain loss. Insurance is defined as the equitable transfer of the risk of a loss, from one
entity to another, in exchange for payment.

be incurred due to chance events such as:
1. Death
2. Disability

The insurer s subrogation rights may be qualified in the policy.
In the context of insurance subrogation is a feature of the principle of indemnity and therefore only
applies to contracts of indemnity so that it does not apply to life assurance or personal accident
policies. It is intended to prevent an insured recovering more than the indemnity he receives under his
insurance (where that represents the full amount of his loss) and enables his insurer to recover or
reduce its loss.
Contribution
The right of an insurer to call on other insurers similarly, but not necessarily equally, liable to the same
insured to share the loss of an indemnity payment i.e. a travel policy may have overlapping cover with
the contents section of a household policy. The principle of contribution allows the insured to make a
claim against one insurer who then has the right to call on any other insurers liable for the loss to share
the claim payment.
Insurable Interest
If an insured wishes to enforce a contract of insurance before the Courts he must have an insurable
interest in the subject matter of the insurance, which is to say that he stands to benefit from its

In non marine insurances, the insured must have insurable interest when the policy is taken out and
also at the date of loss giving rise to a claim under the policy.

25. Ethical Considerations In The Therapeutic Relationship
Ethical Considerations
The given case challenges the counselor to investigate the harm of infringement on trust in the
therapeutic relationship, while examining the potential ethical and legal consequences of not due harm
to the client (ACA, 2014). If the clinician involuntary discloses can put the client at risk for substantial
damages in their personal and professional life, as well as the loss of the therapeutic relationship
(Wengard et al., 2014). Committing a breach in the therapeutic relationship could potentially
discontinue the client spreading HIV, however, the clinician has no proof the partners the client is
being intimate with also are not HIV positive or the virus has not been dormant in their body (Stein et
al., 1998).
Mental Health Clinicians are aware that judicial systems examine professional codes of ethics to
assess the customary standard of care (Moline et al., 1998). The judicial system will also evaluate best
practices of how the conventional clinicians may possibly respond under similar situations and
conclude whether a legal obligation by a clinician has been breached (Moline et al., 1998). This

26. Persuasive Speech On Social Justice
When you walk down the street in a big city like Los Angeles or San Francisco, I think you would
immediately spot a crowd of triggered protesters shouting He s not my president! waving signs like
No one is illegal and you are welcome here . Piercings and dyed hair bedeck their heads and sensory
orifices. Dressed in showy, heterodox clothes, their appearance screams Notice me and what I want
from the USA ! I know, don t get me wrong , what they re fighting for is completely justifiable. After
all, they are probably scared of getting deported or harassed in the streets due to their religious faith.
Personally, I think that the aforementioned Social Justice Warriors are taking things a bit too far and
using mostly their primal emotions instead of facts. Earlier in my life I wouldn t have cared; but
recently I have discovered something called Alternative right, or Alt right for short. One of the values
that they have is the importance of facts over feelings. This value is very important to me since I try to
analyze what happens both in fiction and real life. Today I m going to show you how this has
influenced me both politically and in everyday life. The Alt Right has impacted me in my everyday
life. One study by CNN s Eric Metaxas has shown that Generation Z ( I.e. today s teenagers), is the
most conservative generation since the GI s that fought during World War II. Eric goes on to say that
Millennials were raised in a time of roaring prosperity, when video cassettes were a bigger influence
than digital technology, and many came of age before the age of radical Islamic terror . Gen Z kids by
contrast, have never known life without the Internet and have grown up surrounded by access to the
world s harsh realities on their smartphones. ( The Next Generation of Americans...) This is significant
in my life because I am a teenager; the next generation of people who ll have children in the future. To
hear that I am a conservative rather than a liberal, which most people expect youngsters to politically
lean to not only shocks me, but succeeds to amaze me. It shatters stereotypes about youth which I and
many others have grown up with. Youngsters valuing American tradition and dealing with harsh
realities (

Di Giovanni, a senior foreign correspondent for The Times, lived through the Balkan wars in the
former Yugoslavia. This book focuses mainly on the conflict in Kosovo in 1999 but Di Giovanni also
reports on the situation from the initial dissolution of the country up until the attempt at
reconstruction. The author also provides the reader with the historical context of the wars, such as the
events since the death of Tito and especially since 1992. It was in 1991 that the Catholic dominated
Croatia and Slovenia declared themselves independent. This began the armed conflict between Croatia
and Slobodan Milosevic s Serb dominated Yugoslavia. Milosevic was not going to allow the country

1991 DBQ In the aftermath of World War I, during the years 1917 1921, President Wilson advocated
the Treaty of Versailles, which called for the principle of self determination, the formation of a League
of Nations, and general amnesty towards Germany, as the solution for peace. However, his
unwillingness to compromise led to widespread disagreement. The opposition forces in the U.S.
senate consisted of the reservationists, who were willing to ratify the Treaty of Versailles with
amendments, and the irreconcilables, who refused to join the League of Nations under any
circumstances. If President Wilson was only willing to modify the language of the treaty, ratification

H). These views all show the tremendous possibility the Treaty of Versailles had for ratification if only
President Wilson agreed to compromise. Finally, the irreconcilables were completely closed to the
possibility of a League of Nations, as seen in William Borah s speech in 1918, which harshly criticizes
and mocks the league with hypocritical antitheses like force to destroy force, conflict to prevent
conflict, militarism to destroy militarism, war to prevent war (Doc. A). The irreconcilable s point of
view is also illustrated by an image from the Tribune Media Services, which shows the U.S. Senate
suddenly objecting to the marriage of the U.S. to foreign entanglement by the League of Nations on
the basis of constitutional rights (Doc. E). According to the senate, the U.S. would be losing the right
to go to war along with collective security if they joined the League of Nations. The position of
European nations, specifically France and Britain, was of hostility towards Germany for the mass
casualties, causing an unwillingness to pardon them from the guilt clause. The Treaty of Versailles had
a great chance of being ratified if only President Wilson would have been able to make small
amendments. The reservationists had a strong argument about the pros of a League of Nations, but
they disagreed with Article 10, which gave the League s

29. The Tempest Research Paper
Harmonious Dissonance In The Tempest, William Shakespeare uses the Prospero and Caliban s
servant/master relationship and the motif of magic and power to portray that destruction and
confliction will result when there is an external or internal imbalance between the disordered
Dionysian intoxication and the disciplined Apollonian order. Caliban, who resentfully serves Prospero,
represents the impulsive Dionysian servant whom the Apollonian master counteracts. Caliban is out of
control, even stating that he wishes to have violated the honor of Miranda due to his hate of Prospero.
The growing resentment for Prospero within Caliban leads him to plot Prospero s demise with his
newfound party of intoxicated drunkards, Stephano and Trinculo, whom Caliban ironically reveres as
nobles. Caliban, Stephano, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The rise of Caliban, who is drunk with retaliation, represents an imbalance between the Dionysian
impulse and Prospero, who represents Apollonian order. Caliban s plans foreshadow this conflict and
destruction, as he plots to get his island back no matter what the expenses are. This imbalance between
the Dionysian intoxication and impulse and the disciplined, rational, Apollonian order can also be
internally present. Prospero represents the intellectual Apollonian figure, who keeps impetuous threats
like Caliban in check. However, Prospero was once ironically a figure of his own Dionysian factor,
creating an internal imbalance between the opposing factors. Prospero expresses that he was once
intoxicated by his Apollonian studies, as his state was growing stranger in his increasing submersion
to his world of books. This leads Prospero to neglect and lose sight of his government responsibilities,
increasingly turning over the power of Duke to his brother Antonio, who in turn becomes intoxicated
and infatuated with the key of officer and office. Antonio s intoxication of power creates conflict as he

Darwin knew that skin color was one of the most important ways in which people varied. And he was
somewhat interested in the pattern of skin color. He knew that darkly pigmented individuals were
found close to the equator (closer to the Sun s UVA UVB); lightly pigmented individuals, like himself,
were found closer to the poles (further from the Sun s harmful radiation). UVB rays (burning) are
absorbed by the epidermis skin layer, and UVA rays (aging and wrinkling) are absorbed by the dermis
skin layer. Darwin rejected the idea that human skin pigmentation was related to the climate, even
though he missed that there was a fundamental relationship between the intensity of ultraviolet
radiation and skin pigmentation; skin pigmentation itself

The industrial revolution began in Great Britain, in the beginning over 75% of England s population
were living in countryside towns whilst working on family owned farms, this was otherwise known as
the cottage industry. When the transition in 17th century began people slowly migrated to the cities,
working in factories and the environments drastically changed.
I enjoy participating in these role plays, as it clarifies and furthers my understanding. I was a factory
worker, and I developed an emotional understanding of the working conditions in which peasants both
worked and lived under. Only a few minutes into the activity I supposedly caught my arm in the

Factory owners used the urbanisation and falling of the cottage industry to exploit their workers.
Owners carried the exploitation out by primarily employing women and children and paying them
minimal wages, by ensuring that workers spent six to seven days a week, working a minimum of 12
hour shifts. Many workers became deaf because of the loud machines and the non existent health and
safety guidelines. Factories were always poorly ventilated and became hot and humid very quickly,
especially for those who worked in factories powered by steam, this often resulted in fainting,
dehydration and occasional deaths. When unions were developed in the early 1800 s, condition
gradually improved. Once employees had the government support furthered the improvement, with
the following acts being put in place;
The Factory Act 1819 (UK) limited working hours for children to a maximum of 12 hours a day.
The Factory Act 1833 (UK) banned children under the age of nine from working in the textiles
industry. Children aged 10 to 13 years were limited to a 48 hour working

34. The Crucible Flight Analysis
Fight or Flight: The Psychology of Fear Ultimately, no good can come from this type of decision
making. Fear prompts retreat. It is the antipode to progress. Just when we need new ideas most,
everyone is seized up in fear, trying to prevent losing what we have left (Berns). Fear can be defined
as a biochemical, emotional, and physical response to something negative or thrill situation. Most
individuals have a negative reaction to fear causing them to obtain the physical response of fight or
flight in face of fear or avoiding anything that causes fear altogether. The characters in The Crucible
all reacted to the witch trials differently and that most likely was because of how afraid they were of
the accusations. If someone was more fearful of the possibility that some people were witches then
they were more likely to want them in jail or hung opposed to if they were not that fearful. The
research question that is being explored in this essay is What role does fear play in individuals
decision making in Arthur Miller s The Crucible? Fear can have a huge role in an individual s decision
making process. Many people make different decisions when they are afraid or scared of something
than they normally would. In the article Fear: The Highly Potent Effect Fear Has on Decision Making,
the author states, When you are overcome with fear or panic and have to make a decision, one of two

Arranged marriages have been a practice that has been around for a long time. It has been
predominantly common in third world countries where the income gap is significantly obvious
between the wealthy and the poor. By definition, arranged marriage is a marriage that is arranged by
the parents of the man and woman getting married, instead of the man and woman choosing to date
and marry each other. Shafer Landau states that cultural relativism claims that the correct moral
standards are relative to cultures, or societies, where as ethical subjectivism claims that the correct
moral standards are those endorsed by each individual. The practice of arranged marriages and similar
