Alice in Wonderland Dream Analysis
Dream Analysis of Alice in Wonderland
Who s who and what s real; are we who we claim we are, and is reality really real or is everything
just a fragment of what we think is the universe?
A dream sequence is a technical term used mostly in film and television to set apart a brief
interlude from the main story. (Wikipedia) The deeper lying theme that Carroll wanted to
incorporate into his story of Alice in Wonderlandand Through the Looking Glass, in my opinion,
was not his psychological or sexual desire for Alice Liddell. What he did mean to express by
writing these stories was his innermost desire to escape from reality in which a relationship
between he and Liddell was not allowed to a fantasy land where everything is backwards ... Show

Carroll thus displays himself as two different beings through this theme: a serious mathematician
existentialist writer, and the uncanny photographer who enjoys taking nude pictures of little
girls, which are undoubtedly one exactly same person in the world of two universes; since the
two realities can have differences and yet both very real, Carroll s strange personality is not
actually strange at all. Borges The Circular Ruins did not contain the same meaning as Carroll s
existentialist ideas; Borges idea of dreams was strictly one way, in which when one person
wakes up, the person who is being dreamed will vanish. The Circular Ruins questioned about our
existence as real or just a fragment of someone else s imagination, which is supposedly as real as
the actual reality of whoever is imagining us. Carroll s notion of dreams, then, questions a more
complex essence of existence: of two possibly imagined universes imagining each other. Carroll
expresses himself and his queer personality (or is it queer?) through a seemingly harmless book of
nonsensical fantasies, and also questions his readers, and possibly himself, the meaning of life and
the universe. What I always thought of as the fun story with insane poems, in addition to the
wonderfully brilliant image of Wonderland portrayed by Disney, turns out to be quite an amazing
text for future existentialists and

The Role Of Periodontitis As A Risk Factor For Systemic...
Introduction
In this research paper, I will be writing about Periodontitis as a risk factor for Systemic Diseases.
It has been known that some systemic diseases alter the presentation and progression of
periodontal disease. Evidence suggests that periodontal disease may play a role as a risk factor in
developing and management of a serious systemic disease. Periodontal infections have been
implicated in cardiovascular disease, preterm and low birth weight infants, and bacterial pneumonia.
In addition, it appears to be more difficult to control non insulin dependent diabetes in patients with
severe periodontitis. The exact mechanisms of these interrelationships have not been determined,
our understanding of these increases in risk is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Poor periodontal health is a factor known to precede many heart attacks, and specific pathogens are
associated with coronary heart disease. Oral Manifestations
Mucosal ulceration, dental disease and other tooth abnormalities, oral soft tissue tumors,
periodontal disease, bone pathology, and orofacial pain may be directly related to or confounded by
underlying systemic disease. Numerous orofacial signs and symptoms are associated with systemic
disease. The most serious problems of concern to dental professionals include caries, oral ulcers,
mucosal erythema and sloughing, gingival bleeding and hypertrophy, soft tissue exophytic masses,
dry mouth, facial pain, movement disorders, tooth abnormalities, abnormal dental wear, tooth
/mucosal discoloration, developmental and bone pathology. ( Burgess, 2017) Once diagnosed, most
periodontal diseases can be treated successfully. The therapeutic goals in periodontal disease are:
first, to alter or eliminate the origin of the microbes as well as contributing risk factors, thereby
preventing the progression of the disease and preserving the healthy state of the periodontium.
Second, the recurrence of periodontitis must be prevented. Finally, in severe cases, regeneration of
the periodontal attachments must be attempted. The first

Gender Roles And Roles Of Women s Career Advancement
According to Feistritzer s research (as cited in Bynum, 2015), there has been a disproportionate
representation of women in education at the highest positions of education leadership , especially in
comparison to the number who begin their careers as teachers. Although the number of women in
management and administrative positions has increased, the majority of senior positions are still
held by men. The lack of women role models in academic departments and barriers women face in
acquiring leadership roles can be contributed to male oriented organizational expectations. Research
has shown that mentoring can significantly enhance the salary and promotion possibilities for
women experiencing these types of situations. In academia, mentoring awareness can reduce
barriers to women s career advancement, tenureand pay (Cullen Luna, 1993). Reddick (as cited in
Gamble Turner, 2015) believes that the efforts diversifying and including women in the ranks of
tenured faculty positions have not made much process towards fulfillment. Women must seek
mentorship early in their careers; have diversity among their mentors; and share experiences with
other female faculty. As an African American female at a Historical Black University (HBCU), the
importance of acquiring mentorship to become successful in the academia arena is tantamount. As
a junior faculty, there was constant reminders of faculty being dismissed from the university

Ku Klux Klan And The Black Panther Party
Created by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), COINTELPRO, a secret program to
undermine the popular increase which swept the country during the 1960s. Though the name stands
for Counterintelligence Program, the targets were not enemy spies but political groups. The FBI s
main objective was to eliminate radical political opposition inside the US such as the Ku Klux Klan
(KKK) and The Black Panther Party(BPP). When they failed at repressing these groups using
traditional modes such as exposure, blatant harassment, and prosecution for political crimes, the
Bureau took the law into its own hands and secretly used fraud and force to sabotage legal political
activity. Its methods ranged far beyond just surveillance, and amounted to a... Show more content on

Any evidence that was found on any party would not have been permissible in court and would
have been thrown out for illegally obtaining the evidence. And even though its violent assaults and
covert manipulation tactics eventually helped to push some of the most committed and experienced
groups to withdraw themselves the damage that it did to groups that just protested for their
constitutional rights is not something that can be overlooked. The fact that The Black Panthers
came under fire at a time when their work featured free food and health care and community
control of schools and police, and when they carried guns only for symbolic purposes. It was the
actions of the FBI and police that eventually provoked the Panthers to retaliate with the armed
actions that later were cited to justify their militant ways. Though the FBI denies it there is some
circumstantial evidence that suggest that they helped militant groups such as the KKK to target
political parties, but only the ones on their agenda. Today many articles and correspondence by the
FBI pertaining to COINTELPRO have surfaced but there is still much that we do not know and
for that reason it is hard to assess how much of an impact COINTELPRO had on the events of that
time. Needless to say it played a major role in the Civil Rights Movement and all the parties
involved including The Ku Klux Klan and The Black Panther

Children Should Receive The Mmr Vaccine
Americans are on fire over a hot topic controversy regarding vaccinations to vaccinate, or not to
vaccinate? More specifically, people are vividly debating whether or not children should receive
the MMR vaccine. The injection itself was created in order to prevent infection of measles,
mumps, and rubella all of which are viruses that cause serious illnesses, and even death. Several
thousand people in the United States, commonly referred to as anti vaxxers, are choosing to defer
the vaccinationof their children because they believe it causes more harm than good. Two main
speculations sparking the MMR debate are the accusation that it causes autism and has side effects
that are far more negative than the benefit of immunity. Despite these accusations, the MMR vaccine
is, without a doubt, providing resistance to illnesses that can lead to death. Therefore, Americans
should continue to vaccinate their children with the MMR.
In spite of the evidence that the MMR vaccine provides protection against these illnesses, scientists
and parents alike argue that it causes autism. Autism is a disorder with an early onset in life in
which the development of the central nervous system is disrupted. The pathophysiology and
etiology are not known at this time (Singh). According to an analysis published in the Journal of
Biomedical Sciences, Researchers discovered that because many autistic children harbor elevated
levels of measles antibodies, they should conduct a

Strong Response Draft The web is filled with online trolls who would sell what shreds of dignity
they have left for an Angela Lansbury nude. Equally, the average internet user has come to despise
the delinquents who harm in the form of internet torture. And while he or she could be blamed for
being reckless, it is uncommon to guilt the average internet user for being hacked. The fault lies
with the malicious hacker. In recent months, many celebrities have had private photos of
themselves hacked and posted on the internet for the world to see. While a blatant invasion of
privacy, it is also a sacrilegious towards the celebrity s body and their rights to consent.
In Blame Photo Thieves, Not the Female Victim, columnist Leonard Pitts Jr. expresses his
perspective that while it is biologically natural for heterosexual men, regardless of occupation or
personal beliefs, to find scantily clad women attractive, it should be a woman s choice of whether to
pose naked for the public or not. Pitts believes that a violation occurs when women are denied that
choice and have personal nudes leaked over the internet, such as in recent cases involving Jenifer
Lawrence, Kate Upton, Kirsen Dunst, and other high profile celebrities. Pitts claims that blaming
the females for taking the photographs or placing them on an unreliable cloud would be similar to
blaming the rape victim and the fault therefore lies with the perpetrator. Here, Pitt s comments on
the shrinking of the public sphere and

Pasadena Museum Of California Art Analysis
The Pasadena Museum of California Art has a beautiful exterior with an open air staircase with
moody light play from an oculus above its entrance to a three story facility. The walls all around it
are covered in complicated patterns and symbols. The building definitely stands out against all the
other buildings in the area. The inside is very roomy, and filled with lots of artwork all around.
The first piece of artwork is by William S. Rice. This piece is a painting, with many, many different
colors. There is a parrot sitting atop a branch, and it seems to be looking down at a butterfly
resting on a branch below it. I picked this piece because of the many vibrant colors it had. There

It portrayed two different animals, in what seemed like a friendly situation, basically hanging out
with each other. The artist s view of the world with these piece of art work might be that he wants
world peace and everything to get along with each other just how the parrot and the butterfly are.
The artist wants world peace basically, but us Christians should know that that is impossible, only
in heaven. So this painting may just show what the artist wishes the world could be like.
The second piece of art is called: Wounds of Existence. This seems to be a painting on a
unusually rugged surface made out of un sanded wooden planks. It depicts what seems like, a
man and a women with their faces close to each other with sad faces. The subject matter of this
piece seem to be mellow and sad. I picked this piece because it jumped out at me at how absolutely
unique it was, being painted on wooden planks.
All the colors in this piece are more dark, and no color really stand out above the rest. Even
though the surface of this painting was very un even, I could still see the shapes, colors and
patterns. For the canvas of the painting, it doesn t look like something you d paint on. It appears
that he just nailed a bunch of wooden planks on top of each other and next to each other and
painted on them. Parts of this piece were probably painted with a brush, and maybe spray paint as

Discussion:
The purpose of the first experiment was to test how different solutes moved through the membrane
by the process of Simple Diffusion. Different solutes proved to diffuse not only at a certain amount,
but also through a certain molecular weight. Curious as to why my hypothesis was not supported, I
wondered why certain solutes only diffused through certain membranes. Through research, I
concluded that the reasoning behind my observation is due to the fact that Non polar molecules can
dissolve in the non polar fatty acid chains of the membrane phospholipids, so therefore non polar
molecules have larger permeability constants than polar molecules (www.biology online.org). Also,
lipid soluble molecules can move through the membrane, where as non lipid soluble molecules
cannot pass through the lipid bilayer (www.biology online.org). These results also concluded that at
a higher MWCO, solutes take a much greater time to diffuse than molecular weights of smaller
amounts.

Remembering a Forgotten war by Donald R. Hickey 2012, an academic journal, talks about the
military history where by people were subjected to a difficult and different lifestyle than the one
they were used too at that time.
The journal explains in details how James Madison and other citizens in the state experienced harsh
situations brought upon them by the Republican repugnance which was fee payment. The residents
had to pay some money like the infrastructure fee tax, loans, standing military and also pay some to
the national bank, a routine they were not used too.
These rules affected people s lives and disrupted their life style living conditions causing them to
share Thomas Jefferson s faith which clearly stated that an untrained military force could easily
conquer them in case they did not better the training of their militia or even administration . The
major event that occurred was the forceful act of unfair fee payment people were subjected to and
how they reacted to the situation.
Jefferson s disregard for the army s supply caused a greater impact that could be further felt more
significantly as a method for the War of 1812 than the creation of the Military Training Academy.
This happened when he together with his successor refused to negotiate with the Britons on
realistic terms. By doing so, he depended on commercial sanctions that destroyed the economy and
diminished revenues.

Establishing Duty In Tort Law
Accidents happen all the time. An accident might happen on the job or while you are simply
enjoying a day off from work. Many of the injuries are a slip and fall accident that might have
happened on another person s property. The fact is that you can t just run out and file a slip and
fall injury claim. First, the claimant must establish that they have a valid slip and file case by
proving that the property owner was negligent in someone. Thus, causing the accident. Certainly,
establishing liability is the key to filing and winning a slip and fall case. Here is more to consider.
Establishing Duty
Duty must be established first, before filing the claim. Duty in tort law is the legal obligation of an
individual to take reasonable care to maintain their property. Certainly, it must be established that
the property owner failed to take reasonable care to prevent the accident. Thus, establishing that
they had control over the property and the situation that caused the injury. For example, a store s
manager had knowledge that the new floors in the store were very slippery and did not take
reasonable care to warn the customers about the situation. Thus, causing injuries to customers. The
plaintiff must prove that the store manager or store owner had control over the situation, in order to
win their case.

The penalty given to the offender is imprisonment. According to Fuller s case in Austlii, the court
deemed imprisonment was appropriate for Fuller as murder is the most serious crime that can be

2017 the sentencing hearing was re opened due an issue in the 2016 proceedings, which was

offences he has done in the past. The court is likely to take into account his past because there is

Personal Branding Essay
The Future of Personal Branding
Last November, I wrote a blog on the rise of the personal brand as the next great disconnect in
online marketing. I named four reasons why personal brands would become more important in the
near future. But I see a fifth reason why how a person brands themselves will be an important part
of the future.
Recently, Mark Zuckerburg and Elon Musk made their opposing opinions about the rise of
artificial intelligence (AI) known all over social media. It is the rise of AI that is the fifth
determinate in the rise of the importance of the personal brand. I am not going to be a doomsday
prophet and say AI will enslave humanity within the next 50 years if we do not harness it. But I
am going to predict that AI, if ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That is that we are still able to communicate with one another without the aid of devices. Your
personal brand is what you will always be able to communicate to people.nless we learn to harness
technology to communicate with one another, rather than to rely on technology, we will always
have personal branding.
By that, I mean when branding yourself don t lose a sense of your humanity. Unless we learn to
harness technology to communicate with one another, rather than to rely on technology, personal
branding will become a lost art. Don t become a holographic or tomographic image of your true self.
Time
When it comes to the argument between Mark Zuckerburg and Elon Musk, it is a generational
argument. I believe the differences in their reasoning is best understood by understanding the
differences in their use of technology.
Zuckerburg built a social media empire and ammassed billions of dollars by getting people to waste
their time. Yes, you heard me. He creates ways for you to lose all sense of time and reality, so you

If you don t believe me, I just finished listening to someone watch videos on Facebook for almost

phenomena of causing people to lose all sense of time is the cornerstone of what makes Facebook

The s Mini Research Paper Essay
Santa Iglesia Advanced English 1, Per. 7 14 November 2016 OMS Mini Research Paper The
word man has a very simple definition: an adult male ( The Definition ). However, there are
many symbols and meanings being it. A Native American picture known as Man in a Maze,
originally called I itoi, depicts a man standing at the entrance of a maze. At the center is the man
s dreams where God greets him and passes him into the next world. The center is not easy to
reach, for there are many twists and turns in the maze itself. The maze symbolizes life and the
difficulties man has to go through to reach the end and move on. In this instance man is naive,
but represents strength, and must go through the challenges faced through existence in order to
find the way to the finish ( The Symbol ). Another simple, yet very complex word beyond its
basic definition, is old . The book definition of old is to have existed for a long time ( I Found ).
The word old is associated with wisdom because a lot of experience is thought to be gained
during long periods of time. When combining the two words, old and man, a new and very
intricate symbol is made. Old man symbolizes wisdom of humanity and the power of great
knowledge. The phrase old man is also associated with high status and special powers because
with great wisdom comes significant respect from less experienced individuals (Cirlot). Joe

With regards to theoretical applications, the book elaborates on the proposal, which is fair trade, and
how it can initiate development in a country. Besides providing a holistic and substantive
perspective on fair trade, the book also expounds on the effects of globalizationon world trade and
the development of third world countries. The book is useful to the study, as it will provide a

Pros And Cons Of Police Militarization
Introduction:
Police brutality and police militarization are becoming hot topics of discussion in the United States
today. The dangers of police militarization are becoming more prevalent and cases of the use of
brutal force by police are becoming more common. Recently, Attorney General Jeff Sessions
announced that the Trump Administration s repeal an Obama era rule limiting the distribution of
certain military equipment such as tracked vehicles, camouflage uniforms, high powered rifles,
bayonets, and grenade launchers. With events like that of the killing of Michael Brown by a
Ferguson, Missouri, by a police officer, a massive show of force by cops decked out in military
gear were deployed after dangerous riots were conducted in the city. This then leads to the question
at hand. Should police be militarized?
What is Militarization:
To better analyze the situation, we must first understand what militarization is. Militarization is the
use of military equipment and tactics by police officers. This includes the use of armored vehicles
,weapons like assault rifles, submachine guns, grenades, grenade launchers, sniper rifles, and SWAT
teams.

For instance in James Jones s novel The Thin Red Line (1962), the inhuman and brutal acts , such
as the disinterring of a Japanese corpse for fun, the extraction of their corpses gold teeth, and the
summary execution of Japanese prisoners, all of these explore the idea that each soldier suffers
the emotional and physical predicament of war by himself. However, some readers will be grateful
to an author who has honestly attempted to tell the truth in his own artistic way. One such person
was Romain Gary who expressed his appreciation of the novelin his April 22, 1962, letter to Jones.
The Thin Red Line, the line between man and beast, so easily crossed, is a realistic fable,
symbolic without symbols, mythological and yet completely factual, a sort of Moby Dick without
the white whale, deeply philosophical without any philosophizing whatsoever. . . . The book
belongs to that vein of poetical realism which is the rarest and to me the most precious thing in the
whole history of the novel , it is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Wright has exposed the human predicaments of his individualism through his characters with
their sufferings that they underwent due to their color, as well as he exposed the reality by
bringing out the hidden pain of the blacks. The effects of alienation in a society can be noted
through the novels of Wright such as, Black Boy and Native Son. In the novel Black Boy,
Richard Wright had a constant feeling of alienation. Richard expresses his physical or emotional
hunger, his disagreements with injustice, or his unwillingness to conform, he always felt this way.
Racism plays a strong role in Wright s Black Boy, due to the fact that this thought was very
popular in this time period. Richard struggled to liberate himself from the alienation of white
people and the working system because it was strongly looked down upon by whites and

The Problem Of Depression And Anxiety Disorders
At first glance, one might say that the main concerns college students face today are financial
difficulties and lack of sleep. But upon closer inspection the main predicament comes into focus;
mental illness. Mental illnesses detriment students immensely, with about ninety two percent of
college students suffering from some form of mental illness. The two most common occurring
mental illnesses are depression and anxiety disorders. Nearly twenty seven percent of students
experience some form of depression, which takes away all motivation to work hard and achieve.
Anxiety disorders range in form, but about eleven percent of students deal with some form of a
nervous disorder (Speak). One would assume universities would provide services to assist their
students. However, that is not the case. While there are futile attempts at treatment programs being
available on campuses, many of these programs are unsafe and untrustworthy. Due to many
students moving away from home for the first time, and being detached from their families, it is
very important for universities to help their students because it may be the only resource available
to them. Admittedly, many schools do try to make an effort towards assisting with mental illness
difficulties. However, these efforts are often in vain due to lack of understanding for mental
illnesses. Many people may object to the idea that mental illnesses really affect success in school.
Yet, I would argue that it is the biggest problems

hundreds of years and were the first animal to be domesticated because they are great as
companions, highly intelligent, and were found to be very useful in human s everyday lives.
Even though they made excellent house pets they were highly successful at working side by side

This grab is strong and hard. There is always a large possibility that the suspect/criminal can/will be
bitten if they attempt to fight off the dog but when thinking about it even the dog gripping onto
the suspect will inflict a bite. They would not be able to hold the suspect as well if they did not
apply pressure into their grip. Before any dog has to be turned loose, they try to intimidate the
person first by giving them a warning that if they start to run, the dog will be released and will
chase after them. A barking tactic is also used to scare the person into not running away. Even in
a case where the officer and dog seem to have the upper hand, there are many situations where
the tables can be completely turned. Both the officer and the dog are trained to work together as
a team. They must be able to fully trust and understand one another especially when they are
placed in extremely dangerous and stressful situations. It is the responsibility of the officer the
dog is being handled by to only use the dog when the situation absolutely calls for it. Any other
way would be very inappropriate and would be a terrible miss use of the animal. Not being

Desert Biome
Desert Biomes

Deserts are mostly found in the east but a few are also found in the western region of the
Americas. They are very hot places with low moisture and barren waste lands. When you think
desert what normally jumps into your head is sand cactus and clear skies with the sun beating
down on you. The maximum temperature for a desert can climb up to 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
The temperature in winter only drops a few degrees and it receives a small amount of humidity.
The average amount of rainfall year round is less than 15 cm. Vegetation is very rare, it s mostly
restricted to ground hugging shrubs and woody trees. All the leaves are replete. Typical animals

They will eat insects and reptiles. Most coyotes live alone or in pairs, but may live in larger
groups. Mainly their only predator is mountain lions, but more recently it is developing into
humans as well. There are many ways human activities can impact the desert biome, at least where
there is an existing ecosystem. Development by mining or residential use is one way, as would be
diverting the limited water supplies for agricultural use elsewhere. Humans can damage the desert
ecosystem if they use the areas for recreation in an unwise fashion.
Off road riding (4x4 and dirt bikes) can damage desert plants and pollute the soil, as well as
disrupting the activities of wildlife. Diverting water supplies, which are already likely scarce, can
prevent infrequent rainfall from reaching the native plants. Killing rodents or predators that invade
farms impacts the food chain that exists in the desert. Although it may not appear so, most deserts
support fragile ecosystems that are easily damaged by roads, mineral refuse, or oil contamination
that can come from industries or mines.

Persuasive Speech About Autism
Your child will go an institution when she grows up! End of discussion!
Eleven years ago, when I was two and a half years old, I went to to the University of Chicago
Autism Center with my mom and my grandma Susan.
I was getting evaluated for Autism, and I came out with a report that I had Severe Moderate
Autism, and the language of an eighteen month old. In July or August 2006, I was throwing a
HUGE tantrum, it was also the day my mom and my grandma brought me to the doctor. I was still
screaming and crying at the doctor s office, and the doctor said something that changed both my
mom and my grandma s life forever.
Excuse me?! my mom yelled angrily.
My mom wasn t pleased at all. She made a comeback by defending me, saying that
My daughter has Autism! And I know she can grow up to be a very normal person, like her peers,
like everyone else! She does NOT need to go to an institution! We re also never ever coming back
again!
We left, never coming back again.
Kim, she s never going to speak. said my grandma. You tried 2 years to get her to speak.
Oh yes she will! snapped my mom, carrying a failing toddler in her arms.
I seemed like a normal child, but the only problem was that still couldn t speak, not a word, not at
all. So I had to throw fits to communicate my feelings and needs. My sister, who was only 19

The Pros And Cons Of GPS Tracking
GPS Tracking Stands on One Level with Data Privacy and Security: Fact or Myth
The term Global Positioning System conjures up images of GPS devices being used in space
age technology and vehicle navigation systems. GPS tracking devices have also become a part of
our daily lives today. However, many people are sceptical about the use of these handy devices.
Many people claim that they will face data privacy and security issues on using it. But, how much
of this statement is true? Do others have access to your information unless and until you share
them? It is true that the person having access to the GPS tracker will know the exact location of the
concerned individual.
With the advancement of technology and GPS manufacturers striving to strengthen security
aspects, the chances of data being leaked have become negligible. Many families and business
owners have started to trust the system and are applying it in different ways. In fact, these
applications have made its way into animal tracking, farming and even gaming technology. Animal
tracking helps in monitoring endangered species and their behaviour in such way, so they and their
habitat can be better protected. GPS system is being used in games to make them more attractive ...

Midsummer Night s Dream Contrast
A Midsummer nights Dream is known as one of Shakespeare s most popular and most performed
plays worldwide. Although there are many versions of the play, they tend to stay true to the original
characters, setting, and them. However in Michael Hoffman s 1999 film version of A Midsummer
Night s Dream, he breaks the traditional rules by first changing the setting. Hoffman sends the
comedic action from ancient Athens to an imaginary Italian village named Monte Athena during the
nineteenth century. In this portrayal of the play, Duke Theseus is nothing but a tired and seemingly
unimportant bureaucrat, rather than a victorious hero as shown in the play. On the same note,
Hippolyta, Theseus s bride to be, previously referred to as the Queen of the... Show more content on

In particular this relates to Puck, who has been transformed from a mischievous fairy to a middle
aged lounge lizard. Puck is the closest thing to a protagonist in the play because he is responsible
for many of the complications that occur between the four lovers. Similarly, Titania loses much of
her previous complexity throughout the film. The play emphasizes the strong bonds of an ancient
female friendship that keep Titania from abandoning the Indian boy because she wants to care for
a deceased friend s son. Hermia and Helena s lives are also marked by strong friendships although
Demetrius who is in love with Hermia is also who Helena has fallen in love with. Hoffman does
stay true to the ideal of female friendship shown in the play, which is one of the reasons, why
relationship between Hermia, Helena, Hippoltya, and Titinia is understandable.
Although, Hoffman didn t change everything when he converted the play to a film, he did change
most of the major concepts. It is not certain why he changed much of the play, but one explanation
that fits is because he wanted to modernize it. A Midsummer Night s Dream was written in the
1590 s and the film was produced in 1999. Hoffman most likely felt that change was necessary for
modern audiences to understand. However, the outcome of Hoffman s changes is that the comical

wavy bundles of collagen fibers found in human anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) that are arranged
in different directions. Fibroblasts are extended with short cytoplasmic processes and branches.
The elastic system is comprised of both oxytalan and elastic fibers. The ACL is very different from
other tendons and ligaments, with varied orientation of the bundles and complex structural
organization. Thus, it provides a structure able to resist tensile strains and multi axial stresses
enforced upon it. The histology of anterolateral ligament has been described as a structure in the
lateral femoral condyle connected by lateral knee with the tibial plateau and lateral meniscus. The

The Cloud Of Cloud Computing Essay
1.1Project Background Cloud computing have revolutionized life as we know it; it allows
people to store, manage, and access their data by using a network of remote servers which are
hosted on the internet rather than using a local server or own hardware. A recent study
conducted by KPMG found that 81% of businesses were either evaluating cloud services,
planned a cloud implementation or had already implemented a cloud strategy [1]. Organizations
tend to use the cloud to reduce costs and improve efficiency. Cloud is not a commodity, some
people think that it comes out of the sky, while in fact it comes from physical hardware inside
brick and mortar facilities which are connected to hundreds of miles by networking cables. We
can conclude from cloud computing that it is a significant technology which can be utilized
nowadays and in the coming future to make everything easy. The project is to provide a web
service using cloud computing, there are many web services, but all the web services need a
platform to run on it which in this case is the virtual machine on cloud server. This will help
users to access their data from any device or machine instead of using hard drives. My target in
this project is to prove that cloud can be used for different kind of applications and purposes. An
example of cloud web services is enabling the user to create a virtual machine on the cloud server
of the web service provider. A virtual machine can be created and customized by the web service

Abstract
We spend a large amount of time learning. It should be important to know something about it.
Everyone is a learner, and everyone is also a teacher. Even as small children will show another

behavior which means that even criminal behavior can be learned through social interactions.

In all connections with learning, we find ourselves learning to like or dislike. The learning
process is very complex, when we consider the large variety of idea, viewpoints, values and bits of
information people have. A great deal of learning is a matter of association or conditioning.

I.INTRODUCTION
While trying to locate the global optimum of non linear, non curved, multi modular and non
differentiable functions characterized in the persistent parameter space, Storn and Price proposed
the Differential Evolution (DE) [1] method in 1995. From that point forward, DE and its variations

The Negative Effects Of Video Games On Children For Children
What surrounds children in this generation? A screen that has people running around on it.
People vandalize the word video game and try to make it sound like it is bad. False accusations
regarding video games has been an issue in the past few months or maybe even a few years.
Parents believe video games make a child addicted and glued to the screen and damaging them
physically and mentally. The reality is, there is research it can actually improve a child s physical
function by them moving around and working out certain body parts. Video games have said to be
non educational, a bad influence and a healthhazard for young children. False accusations coming
to its user s is a human rights violation because there has been research that video games can be
healthy, educational and nonviolent. Over the years many people say video games is hazardous
for a child s health. Even though there has been evidence linked to it, there is also evidence that
video games can be beneficial and educational due to it training the brain. The problem with video
games is that it can be addictive and can possibly ruin your health, or can it. Video Games are
highly beneficial because they give children a unique interactive learning environment (Deutsch 1).
With that being said, to some people video games might be a problem because it stop kids from
going outside and doing activities, but the upside is that they can be interactive with kids around
the world who suit the same interest. Interacting

The Sargasso Se The Disappearances In The Bermuda Triangle
While methane bubbles can sink an entire ship, it does not prove to be the cause for all
disappearing ships and plans in the triangle. The area of largest methane gas releases was not in
the Bermuda s but somewhere along the Carolinas coast. This decreases the likelihood of
methane gas releases from the ocean floor. Some drilling rigs have drilled into methane hydrates
(where methane gas is stored underground) and while the density of that water did decrease and
the ship sunk; there was plenty of time to send a mayday call and evacuate the ship. With the
methane gas theory, there would be no reason why a ship could not make a mayday call, but
disappearances in the triangle are sudden. Researchers know some of the first sailors did not have
the technology to send a mayday call, but would have been able to evacuate their ship if it was
slowly sinking. Methane... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Sargasso Sea is seven hundred miles wide by two thousand miles long. The Bermuda
Triangle is on the western edge of the Sargasso Sea. The water is covered in dense seaweed
which forms a thick mat on the surface, known as Sargassum (Rudolph pg. 9). Christopher
Columbus thought he had reached land when he reached the Sargasso Sea (Bhattacharya). It is
bound by ocean currents on all sides, which separates it from the surrounding Atlantic. Trash and
other objects are pulled into the sea by swirling currents. The thick mat of seaweed and trash
could bring a ship to a halt when the winds are low. Some ships have been found floating in the
seaweed with no passengers. One ship, Fannia E. Wolston, floated for five years covering 7,025
miles. Spanish sailors often found themselves stranded for weeks and had to jettison their war
horses to conserve water, which was why an area of the Sargasso Sea is called the Horse
Latitudes . However, there was no direct correlation to missing airplanes and large freighters that
can sail through weak winds and seaweed

Short Summary Of Blink By Malcolm Gladwell
Summary of Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking Blink: The Power of Thinking
Without Thinking was written by Malcolm Gladwell. Gladwell s purpose in writing this book was
to explore the thought process of the mind. He presents examples of thin slicing and rapid cognition
throughout the book and compares each situation to each other. For example, the book begins with
a question of intuition at the J. Paul Getty Museum. An art dealer named Gianfranco Becchina
claimed to have a marble statue called a Kouros. There are only about two hundred of these statues
in existence but this one was in perfect condition and had an asking price of $10 million. The Getty
was cautious before buying the statue and continued a further investigation to determine if it was
authentic. Many credible individuals thoroughly made tests on the statue and determined that it
appeared genuine. Later after the sculpture was purchased, the first figures to present their ideas to
why the statue was a fraud were Federico Zeri and Evelyn Harrison. Although they did not perform
any tests, they knew that something seemed wrong with the Kouros. This assertion is one of the
main ideas of the book; the ability of our minds to rapidly make discernment without us even
realizing it. Most... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This term is defined simply as the capability to skim through a situation and make a clear
decision. An example of thin slicing used in the book was the research of marriages. In this
experiment a married couple would be videotaped while arguing over a simple topic such as
whether to get a dog or not. On the surface the conversation seems to be normal; however, in just
15 minutes researchers could come to a conclusion whether or not the marriage would last. It seems
almost impossible; nevertheless, by just studying facial expressions and body language the
situation was able to be thin sliced with 95%

Compare And Contrast Evida And Eva Peron
Both Benedita da Silva and Eva Peron are undeniably incredibly influential women in the Latin
American societies of Brazil and Argentina respectively. Both of these women had very humble
origins, coming from lower class and living in conditions to match. Benedita grew up in a poor
neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro, made up almost entirely of Afro Brazilian people, her experience
growing up became integral to her drive towards a career in politics. Eva Peron came to her
position in politics through a significantly different path. Eva in comparison reached a political
position through marriage to the influential Juan Peron, once she achieved fame as an actress. Once
Juan became president of Argentina, Eva immediately began helping the poor and underprivileged...

She used her position of power to put a particular focus on the favelas and the poor people who
lived in them. In comparison, Eva also used her power to focus on the poor of Argentina, this
however is where the two women diverge in their methods. Benedita lacked the same kind of
governmental support and near unchecked power that Eva had, forcing her to go through different
channels such as the media and legal routes to bring change. Eva had the luxury of full government
support, allowing her to on a whim create social programs to directly benefit the needy of her nation.
Eva s programs ranged from directly giving needy people and families homes and money, to being
accredited with giving Argentinian women the right to vote. Arguably Eva s actions had a much
larger immediate impact on the entire nation as a whole when compared to that of Benedita s
achievements. In the long term though, Benedita s contributions to Brazilian society were more
impactful. She managed to break through stereotypes and prejudices and pave the way for other
Afro Brazilians and women to enter politics in Brazil where they had only ever made up a small
margin of the political

To What Extent Do Professor s Ariely s Ideas Help Us...
Business Assignment
Part A.
To what extent do Professor s Ariely s ideas help us evaluate the effectiveness of Jamie Oliver s
management approach?
Professor s Ariely s speech on the effects of management does, to a certain extent help us evaluate
the effectiveness of Jamie Oliver s hands on management approach. As a manager, Jamie Oliver
would take a personal interest in his students; providing them with training, support (paying for
their transport if necessary) and visiting their homes. This allowed Jamie to develop trust and
respect with his students and in return, the students established a trust with him. If a manager is
attentive and acknowledges their efforts, employees are more likely to uphold their motivation.
One example that was presented by Professor Ariely demonstrated this idea that if people s
endeavours are recognised, then they will work for longer. The experiment whereby people
matched pairs of letters in three different conditions showed results that backed up this hypothesis.
In the first condition, they wrote their name, completed the worksheet and showed it to the
experimenter, who then scanned it and put it in the pile. The second condition, people did not write
their name, completed the worksheet, gave it to the experimenter and without looking at it, placed
it in the pile. The final condition, the experimenter simply put the completed worksheet in the
shredder. In the first condition where the work was acknowledged people worked for

Napoleon Bonaparte
Napoleon Bonaparte or should I say the Son of the Revolution , I believe was both a preserver
and a destroyer of the French Revolution. In fact, In a sense, Napoleon brought the revolution to
an end in 1799, but he was also a child of the revolution (Spielvogel 544, 1). Napoleon had helped
the French peopleand the French government in various ways; nevertheless, Napoleon thought that
constantly the people owed him. I think that this is how he acted like a child. Napoleon became
commander of the French army in 1796 in Italy. Since he was now the commander he was reliable
to do what he had to for the French without the people owing him anything. Moreover, from the
time he became commander he had fought and won numerous wars beginning... Show more content

Europe at one time did have factories which were stocked with quite expensive items, but
because of other companies taking over them prices fell and people were left unemployed.
Europe had a high death rate because of lack of food and terrible living conditions. In Europe
there was a lot of poverty whereas in Great Britain there was not. Because of emigrants coming
from all over to Europe especially, people from Ireland, Europe s population began to grow. It was
then that Europe soon would be exposed to experience industrialization.
How did the Industrial Revolution affect the family, the role of women, and living conditions?
The Industrial Revolution affected families in countless different ways. For the bulk of people
who were in the working class lived in small houses. Considering that these houses were so
small, the people in them would be crammed together. There were 63 families where there were
at least five persons to a bed; and there were some in which even six were packed in one bed,
lying at the top and bottom children and adults (Spievogel 569, 1). The houses were unsanitary
and the people from the working class were more likely to come in contact with a disease. The
people of the working class were not as physically healthy looking because they did not eat and live
as well as the middle class or wealthy did. The working classes had very poor working conditions
and were not paid fairly. Not just the men worked, but women

Harry Potter Character Analysis
serves to accentuate Hagrid s maternal role throughout the series. Hagrid serves not only as a
mother to these dangerous, isolated magical creatures, but he also serves as a maternal figure to
Harry who shows some of the same characteristics. Throughout the series, there are several points
where Harry is seen as dangerous. For example, in The Chamber of Secrets, Harry is suspected to
be the heir of Slytherin because he can speak parseltongue, and everybody thinks he is dangerous.
Also, in the fifth book, The Daily Prophet promotes that Harry and Dumbledore are dangerous and
manipulative because they re trying to draw attention to the fact that Lord Voldemort had returned.
The Care of Magical Creatures class formed many other connections with characters, but it also
connects to and shows several real world political styles.
It was mentioned earlier that this magical institution connects not only to the characters and events
throughout the Harry Potter series, but also to real world political styles and lessons. One of the
real world political styles that the Care of Magical Creatures class exemplifies is that of
populism. The populist political style is exemplified through the intervention of the Ministry of
Magic in the incident between Draco Malfoy and Buckbeak. Normally the Ministry will not
interfere if a student gets injured. For example, when Harry s arm was broken because of his
jinxed broom, the Ministry never jumped in to try and solve what happened or to inflict a

Jeffrey Dahmer Motives
In the beginning, that was my most profound admission, that there was something missing in Jeff,
the part that should have cried out, Stop! Lionel Dahmer (Jeffrey s father) (qtd. in LaBrode).
Jeffrey Dahmer, the son of Lionel Dahmer, was a serial killer who lured his unsuspecting victims
to his house, savagely killed them, and then cannibalized their corpses. He is only one of the many
serial killers who have terrorized our world. They are an example of the evil lurking in humanity.
These murderers commit acts so horrendous that it s hard to imagine how anyone could be capable
of these acts. Many who study these people, and the murders they commit, wonder how that
behavior is established within them. There are two major answers that emerge:... Show more content

It is less known, however, that this is a result of psychopathy. Psychopathy is a personality
disorder manifested in people who use a mixture of charm, manipulation, intimidation, and
occasionally violence to control others, in order to satisfy their own selfish needs ( Serial Murder
). It s simple to see that many serial killers suffer from psychopathy because many serial killer s
personalities incorporate these traits. The fact that they are psychopaths largely explains why they
can kill without living with the extreme guilt others would feel; it provides an emotional barrier

Changes To The Landlady-Personal Narrative Essay
Billy was about to pick up the tea but then he lost his appetite and sat the cup down. Then he
asked the Landlady to excuse him and went up to his room to get a head start on sleeping. Once
he got to his room Billy changed into his nightgown got a glass of water. He took a sip put the
glass on the table and laid down on the bed. Then he started to think about how the Landlady was
acting. His brain started to tingle and as he laid there he realized it, but then he started to get
sleepy. Then all of a sudden he fell asleep. Once he awoke he looked around when he saw his
door close. He changed back into his clothes and got up to see what had happened. When Billy

  • 2. Alice in Wonderland Dream Analysis Dream Analysis of Alice in Wonderland Who s who and what s real; are we who we claim we are, and is reality really real or is everything just a fragment of what we think is the universe? A dream sequence is a technical term used mostly in film and television to set apart a brief interlude from the main story. (Wikipedia) The deeper lying theme that Carroll wanted to incorporate into his story of Alice in Wonderlandand Through the Looking Glass, in my opinion, was not his psychological or sexual desire for Alice Liddell. What he did mean to express by writing these stories was his innermost desire to escape from reality in which a relationship between he and Liddell was not allowed to a fantasy land where everything is backwards ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Carroll thus displays himself as two different beings through this theme: a serious mathematician existentialist writer, and the uncanny photographer who enjoys taking nude pictures of little girls, which are undoubtedly one exactly same person in the world of two universes; since the two realities can have differences and yet both very real, Carroll s strange personality is not actually strange at all. Borges The Circular Ruins did not contain the same meaning as Carroll s existentialist ideas; Borges idea of dreams was strictly one way, in which when one person wakes up, the person who is being dreamed will vanish. The Circular Ruins questioned about our existence as real or just a fragment of someone else s imagination, which is supposedly as real as the actual reality of whoever is imagining us. Carroll s notion of dreams, then, questions a more complex essence of existence: of two possibly imagined universes imagining each other. Carroll expresses himself and his queer personality (or is it queer?) through a seemingly harmless book of nonsensical fantasies, and also questions his readers, and possibly himself, the meaning of life and the universe. What I always thought of as the fun story with insane poems, in addition to the wonderfully brilliant image of Wonderland portrayed by Disney, turns out to be quite an amazing text for future existentialists and ... • 3. The Role Of Periodontitis As A Risk Factor For Systemic... Introduction In this research paper, I will be writing about Periodontitis as a risk factor for Systemic Diseases. It has been known that some systemic diseases alter the presentation and progression of periodontal disease. Evidence suggests that periodontal disease may play a role as a risk factor in developing and management of a serious systemic disease. Periodontal infections have been implicated in cardiovascular disease, preterm and low birth weight infants, and bacterial pneumonia. In addition, it appears to be more difficult to control non insulin dependent diabetes in patients with severe periodontitis. The exact mechanisms of these interrelationships have not been determined, our understanding of these increases in risk is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Poor periodontal health is a factor known to precede many heart attacks, and specific pathogens are associated with coronary heart disease. Oral Manifestations Mucosal ulceration, dental disease and other tooth abnormalities, oral soft tissue tumors, periodontal disease, bone pathology, and orofacial pain may be directly related to or confounded by underlying systemic disease. Numerous orofacial signs and symptoms are associated with systemic disease. The most serious problems of concern to dental professionals include caries, oral ulcers, mucosal erythema and sloughing, gingival bleeding and hypertrophy, soft tissue exophytic masses, dry mouth, facial pain, movement disorders, tooth abnormalities, abnormal dental wear, tooth /mucosal discoloration, developmental and bone pathology. ( Burgess, 2017) Once diagnosed, most periodontal diseases can be treated successfully. The therapeutic goals in periodontal disease are: first, to alter or eliminate the origin of the microbes as well as contributing risk factors, thereby preventing the progression of the disease and preserving the healthy state of the periodontium. Second, the recurrence of periodontitis must be prevented. Finally, in severe cases, regeneration of the periodontal attachments must be attempted. The first ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Gender Roles And Roles Of Women s Career Advancement According to Feistritzer s research (as cited in Bynum, 2015), there has been a disproportionate representation of women in education at the highest positions of education leadership , especially in comparison to the number who begin their careers as teachers. Although the number of women in management and administrative positions has increased, the majority of senior positions are still held by men. The lack of women role models in academic departments and barriers women face in acquiring leadership roles can be contributed to male oriented organizational expectations. Research has shown that mentoring can significantly enhance the salary and promotion possibilities for women experiencing these types of situations. In academia, mentoring awareness can reduce barriers to women s career advancement, tenureand pay (Cullen Luna, 1993). Reddick (as cited in Gamble Turner, 2015) believes that the efforts diversifying and including women in the ranks of tenured faculty positions have not made much process towards fulfillment. Women must seek mentorship early in their careers; have diversity among their mentors; and share experiences with other female faculty. As an African American female at a Historical Black University (HBCU), the importance of acquiring mentorship to become successful in the academia arena is tantamount. As a junior faculty, there was constant reminders of faculty being dismissed from the university because they were not granted tenure, in addition to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ku Klux Klan And The Black Panther Party Created by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), COINTELPRO, a secret program to undermine the popular increase which swept the country during the 1960s. Though the name stands for Counterintelligence Program, the targets were not enemy spies but political groups. The FBI s main objective was to eliminate radical political opposition inside the US such as the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) and The Black Panther Party(BPP). When they failed at repressing these groups using traditional modes such as exposure, blatant harassment, and prosecution for political crimes, the Bureau took the law into its own hands and secretly used fraud and force to sabotage legal political activity. Any evidence that was found on any party would not have been permissible in court and would have been thrown out for illegally obtaining the evidence. And even though its violent assaults and covert manipulation tactics eventually helped to push some of the most committed and experienced groups to withdraw themselves the damage that it did to groups that just protested for their constitutional rights is not something that can be overlooked. The fact that The Black Panthers came under fire at a time when their work featured free food and health care and community control of schools and police, and when they carried guns only for symbolic purposes. It was the actions of the FBI and police that eventually provoked the Panthers to retaliate with the armed actions that later were cited to justify their militant ways. Though the FBI denies it there is some circumstantial evidence that suggest that they helped militant groups such as the KKK to target political parties, but only the ones on their agenda. Today many articles and correspondence by the FBI pertaining to COINTELPRO have surfaced but there is still much that we do not know and for that reason it is hard to assess how much of an impact COINTELPRO had on the events of that time. • 6. Children Should Receive The Mmr Vaccine Americans are on fire over a hot topic controversy regarding vaccinations to vaccinate, or not to vaccinate? More specifically, people are vividly debating whether or not children should receive the MMR vaccine. The injection itself was created in order to prevent infection of measles, mumps, and rubella all of which are viruses that cause serious illnesses, and even death. Several thousand people in the United States, commonly referred to as anti vaxxers, are choosing to defer the vaccinationof their children because they believe it causes more harm than good. Two main speculations sparking the MMR debate are the accusation that it causes autism and has side effects that are far more negative than the benefit of immunity. Despite these accusations, the MMR vaccine is, without a doubt, providing resistance to illnesses that can lead to death. Therefore, Americans should continue to vaccinate their children with the MMR. In spite of the evidence that the MMR vaccine provides protection against these illnesses, scientists and parents alike argue that it causes autism. Autism is a disorder with an early onset in life in which the development of the central nervous system is disrupted. The pathophysiology and etiology are not known at this time (Singh). According to an analysis published in the Journal of Biomedical Sciences, Researchers discovered that because many autistic children harbor elevated levels of measles antibodies, they should conduct a ... Strong Response Draft The web is filled with online trolls who would sell what shreds of dignity they have left for an Angela Lansbury nude. Equally, the average internet user has come to despise the delinquents who harm in the form of internet torture. And while he or she could be blamed for being reckless, it is uncommon to guilt the average internet user for being hacked. The fault lies with the malicious hacker. In recent months, many celebrities have had private photos of themselves hacked and posted on the internet for the world to see. While a blatant invasion of privacy, it is also a sacrilegious towards the celebrity s body and their rights to consent. In Blame Photo Thieves, Not the Female Victim, columnist Leonard Pitts Jr. expresses his perspective that while it is biologically natural for heterosexual men, regardless of occupation or personal beliefs, to find scantily clad women attractive, it should be a woman s choice of whether to pose naked for the public or not. Pitts believes that a violation occurs when women are denied that choice and have personal nudes leaked over the internet, such as in recent cases involving Jenifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Kirsen Dunst, and other high profile celebrities. Pitts claims that blaming the females for taking the photographs or placing them on an unreliable cloud would be similar to blaming the rape victim and the fault therefore lies with the perpetrator. Hickey 2012, an academic journal, talks about the military history where by people were subjected to a difficult and different lifestyle than the one they were used too at that time. The journal explains in details how James Madison and other citizens in the state experienced harsh situations brought upon them by the Republican repugnance which was fee payment. The residents had to pay some money like the infrastructure fee tax, loans, standing military and also pay some to the national bank, a routine they were not used too. These rules affected people s lives and disrupted their life style living conditions causing them to share Thomas Jefferson s faith which clearly stated that an untrained military force could easily conquer them in case they did not better the training of their militia or even administration . The major event that occurred was the forceful act of unfair fee payment people were subjected to and how they reacted to the situation. I named four reasons why personal brands would become more important in the near future. But I see a fifth reason why how a person brands themselves will be an important part of the future. Recently, Mark Zuckerburg and Elon Musk made their opposing opinions about the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) known all over social media. It is the rise of AI that is the fifth determinate in the rise of the importance of the personal brand. However, there are many symbols and meanings being it. A Native American picture known as Man in a Maze, originally called I itoi, depicts a man standing at the entrance of a maze. At the center is the man s dreams where God greets him and passes him into the next world. The center is not easy to reach, for there are many twists and turns in the maze itself. The maze symbolizes life and the difficulties man has to go through to reach the end and move on. In this instance man is naive, but represents strength, and must go through the challenges faced through existence in order to find the way to the finish ( The Symbol ). Another simple, yet very complex word beyond its basic definition, is old . The book definition of old is to have existed for a long time ( I Found ). The word old is associated with wisdom because a lot of experience is thought to be gained during long periods of time. When combining the two words, old and man, a new and very intricate symbol is made. Old man symbolizes wisdom of humanity and the power of great knowledge. The phrase old man is also associated with high status and special powers because with great wisdom comes significant respect from less experienced individuals (Cirlot). Besides providing a holistic and substantive perspective on fair trade, the book also expounds on the effects of globalizationon world trade and the development of third world countries. The book is useful to the study, as it will provide a clearer and better understanding of fair trade and support the arguments in the study. The main limitation of the study is that the book covers a wide area fair trade, world trade, and third world countries, without going in depth to labor rights abuse. Formed from the decimation of industrial jobs and farm incomes due to the unjust terms of trade and arrangements in the Philippines, Fair Trade Alliance elaborates on how fair trade can elevate the Philippines and other similar countries economic status sustainably. The dangers of police militarization are becoming more prevalent and cases of the use of brutal force by police are becoming more common. Recently, Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced that the Trump Administration s repeal an Obama era rule limiting the distribution of certain military equipment such as tracked vehicles, camouflage uniforms, high powered rifles, bayonets, and grenade launchers. With events like that of the killing of Michael Brown by a Ferguson, Missouri, by a police officer, a massive show of force by cops decked out in military gear were deployed after dangerous riots were conducted in the city. However, some readers will be grateful to an author who has honestly attempted to tell the truth in his own artistic way. One such person was Romain Gary who expressed his appreciation of the novelin his April 22, 1962, letter to Jones. • 24. The Problem Of Depression And Anxiety Disorders At first glance, one might say that the main concerns college students face today are financial difficulties and lack of sleep. But upon closer inspection the main predicament comes into focus; mental illness. Mental illnesses detriment students immensely, with about ninety two percent of college students suffering from some form of mental illness. The two most common occurring mental illnesses are depression and anxiety disorders. Nearly twenty seven percent of students experience some form of depression, which takes away all motivation to work hard and achieve. Anxiety disorders range in form, but about eleven percent of students deal with some form of a nervous disorder (Speak). One would assume universities would provide services to assist their students. However, that is not the case. While there are futile attempts at treatment programs being available on campuses, many of these programs are unsafe and untrustworthy. Due to many students moving away from home for the first time, and being detached from their families, it is very important for universities to help their students because it may be the only resource available to them. Admittedly, many schools do try to make an effort towards assisting with mental illness difficulties. However, these efforts are often in vain due to lack of understanding for mental illnesses. Development by mining or residential use is one way, as would be diverting the limited water supplies for agricultural use elsewhere. Humans can damage the desert ecosystem if they use the areas for recreation in an unwise fashion. Off road riding (4x4 and dirt bikes) can damage desert plants and pollute the soil, as well as disrupting the activities of wildlife. Diverting water supplies, which are already likely scarce, can prevent infrequent rainfall from reaching the native plants. Killing rodents or predators that invade farms impacts the food chain that exists in the desert. Although it may not appear so, most deserts support fragile ecosystems that are easily damaged by roads, mineral refuse, or oil contamination that can come from industries or mines. Although there are many versions of the play, they tend to stay true to the original characters, setting, and them. However in Michael Hoffman s 1999 film version of A Midsummer Night s Dream, he breaks the traditional rules by first changing the setting. Hoffman sends the comedic action from ancient Athens to an imaginary Italian village named Monte Athena during the nineteenth century. Puck is the closest thing to a protagonist in the play because he is responsible for many of the complications that occur between the four lovers. The play emphasizes the strong bonds of an ancient female friendship that keep Titania from abandoning the Indian boy because she wants to care for a deceased friend s son. Hermia and Helena s lives are also marked by strong friendships although Demetrius who is in love with Hermia is also who Helena has fallen in love with. Hoffman does stay true to the ideal of female friendship shown in the play, which is one of the reasons, why relationship between Hermia, Helena, Hippoltya, and Titinia is understandable. • 41. Origins Criminal Behavior Origins of Criminal Behavior Tara Olivarez University of the Rockies Abstract We spend a large amount of time learning. It should be important to know something about it. Everyone is a learner, and everyone is also a teacher. Even as small children will show another child how to play a game. Most social process theories assume behavior (good or bad) is learned behavior which means that even criminal behavior can be learned through social interactions. Origins of Criminal Behavior In all connections with learning, we find ourselves learning to like or dislike. The learning process is very complex, when we consider the large variety of idea, viewpoints, values and bits of information people have. A great deal of learning is a matter of association or conditioning. Criminal behavior has and will always be a large focus for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... M. (1985). • 44. The Sargasso Se The Disappearances In The Bermuda Triangle While methane bubbles can sink an entire ship, it does not prove to be the cause for all disappearing ships and plans in the triangle. The area of largest methane gas releases was not in the Bermuda s but somewhere along the Carolinas coast. This decreases the likelihood of methane gas releases from the ocean floor. Some drilling rigs have drilled into methane hydrates (where methane gas is stored underground) and while the density of that water did decrease and the ship sunk; there was plenty of time to send a mayday call and evacuate the ship. With the methane gas theory, there would be no reason why a ship could not make a mayday call, but disappearances in the triangle are sudden. Researchers know some of the first sailors did not have the technology to send a mayday call, but would have been able to evacuate their ship if it was slowly sinking. Methane... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Sargasso Sea is seven hundred miles wide by two thousand miles long. The Bermuda Triangle is on the western edge of the Sargasso Sea. The water is covered in dense seaweed which forms a thick mat on the surface, known as Sargassum (Rudolph pg. 9). Christopher Columbus thought he had reached land when he reached the Sargasso Sea (Bhattacharya). It is bound by ocean currents on all sides, which separates it from the surrounding Atlantic. Trash and other objects are pulled into the sea by swirling currents. The thick mat of seaweed and trash could bring a ship to a halt when the winds are low. Some ships have been found floating in the seaweed with no passengers. One ship, Fannia E. Wolston, floated for five years covering 7,025 miles. Spanish sailors often found themselves stranded for weeks and had to jettison their war horses to conserve water, which was why an area of the Sargasso Sea is called the Horse Latitudes . However, there was no direct correlation to missing airplanes and large freighters that can sail through weak winds and seaweed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Short Summary Of Blink By Malcolm Gladwell Summary of Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking was written by Malcolm Gladwell. Gladwell s purpose in writing this book was to explore the thought process of the mind. He presents examples of thin slicing and rapid cognition throughout the book and compares each situation to each other. For example, the book begins with a question of intuition at the J. Paul Getty Museum. An art dealer named Gianfranco Becchina claimed to have a marble statue called a Kouros. There are only about two hundred of these statues in existence but this one was in perfect condition and had an asking price of $10 million. The Getty was cautious before buying the statue and continued a further investigation to determine if it was authentic. Many credible individuals thoroughly made tests on the statue and determined that it appeared genuine. Later after the sculpture was purchased, the first figures to present their ideas to why the statue was a fraud were Federico Zeri and Evelyn Harrison. Although they did not perform any tests, they knew that something seemed wrong with the Kouros. This assertion is one of the main ideas of the book; the ability of our minds to rapidly make discernment without us even realizing it. Most... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Benedita lacked the same kind of governmental support and near unchecked power that Eva had, forcing her to go through different channels such as the media and legal routes to bring change. Eva had the luxury of full government support, allowing her to on a whim create social programs to directly benefit the needy of her nation. Eva s programs ranged from directly giving needy people and families homes and money, to being accredited with giving Argentinian women the right to vote. Arguably Eva s actions had a much larger immediate impact on the entire nation as a whole when compared to that of Benedita s achievements. In the long term though, Benedita s contributions to Brazilian society were more impactful. She managed to break through stereotypes and prejudices and pave the way for other Afro Brazilians and women to enter politics in Brazil where they had only ever made up a small margin of the political ... • 47. To What Extent Do Professor s Ariely s Ideas Help Us... Business Assignment Part A. To what extent do Professor s Ariely s ideas help us evaluate the effectiveness of Jamie Oliver s management approach? Professor s Ariely s speech on the effects of management does, to a certain extent help us evaluate the effectiveness of Jamie Oliver s hands on management approach. As a manager, Jamie Oliver would take a personal interest in his students; providing them with training, support (paying for their transport if necessary) and visiting their homes. This allowed Jamie to develop trust and respect with his students and in return, the students established a trust with him. If a manager is attentive and acknowledges their efforts, employees are more likely to uphold their motivation. One example that was presented by Professor Ariely demonstrated this idea that if people s endeavours are recognised, then they will work for longer. The experiment whereby people matched pairs of letters in three different conditions showed results that backed up this hypothesis. In the first condition, they wrote their name, completed the worksheet and showed it to the experimenter, who then scanned it and put it in the pile. The second condition, people did not write their name, completed the worksheet, gave it to the experimenter and without looking at it, placed it in the pile. The final condition, the experimenter simply put the completed worksheet in the shredder. In the first condition where the work was acknowledged people worked for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In fact, In a sense, Napoleon brought the revolution to an end in 1799, but he was also a child of the revolution (Spielvogel 544, 1). Napoleon had helped the French peopleand the French government in various ways; nevertheless, Napoleon thought that constantly the people owed him. I think that this is how he acted like a child. Napoleon became commander of the French army in 1796 in Italy. Since he was now the commander he was reliable to do what he had to for the French without the people owing him anything. Moreover, from the time he became commander he had fought and won numerous wars beginning... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Europe at one time did have factories which were stocked with quite expensive items, but because of other companies taking over them prices fell and people were left unemployed. Europe had a high death rate because of lack of food and terrible living conditions. In Europe there was a lot of poverty whereas in Great Britain there was not. Because of emigrants coming from all over to Europe especially, people from Ireland, Europe s population began to grow. It was then that Europe soon would be exposed to experience industrialization. How did the Industrial Revolution affect the family, the role of women, and living conditions? The Industrial Revolution affected families in countless different ways. For the bulk of people who were in the working class lived in small houses. Considering that these houses were so small, the people in them would be crammed together. There were 63 families where there were at least five persons to a bed; and there were some in which even six were packed in one bed, lying at the top and bottom children and adults (Spievogel 569, 1). The houses were unsanitary and the people from the working class were more likely to come in contact with a disease. The people of the working class were not as physically healthy looking because they did not eat and live as well as the middle class or wealthy did. • 50. Harry Potter Character Analysis serves to accentuate Hagrid s maternal role throughout the series. Hagrid serves not only as a mother to these dangerous, isolated magical creatures, but he also serves as a maternal figure to Harry who shows some of the same characteristics. Throughout the series, there are several points where Harry is seen as dangerous. For example, in The Chamber of Secrets, Harry is suspected to be the heir of Slytherin because he can speak parseltongue, and everybody thinks he is dangerous. Also, in the fifth book, The Daily Prophet promotes that Harry and Dumbledore are dangerous and manipulative because they re trying to draw attention to the fact that Lord Voldemort had returned. The Care of Magical Creatures class formed many other connections with characters, but it also connects to and shows several real world political styles. It was mentioned earlier that this magical institution connects not only to the characters and events throughout the Harry Potter series, but also to real world political styles and lessons. One of the real world political styles that the Care of Magical Creatures class exemplifies is that of populism. The populist political style is exemplified through the intervention of the Ministry of Magic in the incident between Draco Malfoy and Buckbeak. Normally the Ministry will not interfere if a student gets injured. For example, when Harry s arm was broken because of his jinxed broom, the Ministry never jumped in to try and solve what happened or to inflict a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
