The Family Reunion By Jeredith Merrin
Estranged
The Family Reunion by Jeredith Merrin is a very jaunty poem. The author invites her readers into the
setting of her own family reunion. She relates to her personal situation and how one seems to forget
about their history. With the Unites States having a fifty percent divorce rate it make this poem very
real and relatable. Family Reunion is a poem about a modern day family that initially sets a calm
atmosphere; but quickly changes as she creates the reality of today s normal occurrence that divorce
has set in the world.
Merrin creates a theme of divorce and separation in each of the poems four lined stanzas. She begins
with the divorced mother and her divorcing/ daughter (1 2) setting the theme for the ongoing element
of separation.

The Book Of Psalms
Psalms
Author
Like most books in the Bible, the author of the Book of Psalms cannot be undeniably determined;
authorship of Psalms is not perfectly clear to modern biblical scholars, as the book s history is a
combined account of fact and religious tradition However, modern scholars are able to conclude that
Psalms was written over approximately nine hundred years. It is believed that from the 1400s to the
500s BCE, Jewish and Christian traditions suppose that Moses wrote the first of the Psalms, and the
latest Psalms were written by the Israelites during the Babylonian captivity (Nowell 794 797). On the
other hand, some Psalms identify their authors by name, including: King David, Asaph, descendants
of Korah, King Solomon, Heman, and Ethan ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hymns sung in churches today contain the exact wording as the Psalms. In addition to hymnals, the
discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls raised question about the date of Book of Psalms. According to
modern scholars, The earlier consensus that the book of Psalms reached its final form around the 4th
century B.C. has been challenged because of discrepancies found in scrolls at the Dead Sea,
(Browning). Also, The best extant copies of the Masoretic Text are from the 10th to the 11th century
A.D., but the discovery of several scrolls and fragments at the Dead Sea has provided versions of
Hebrew psalms from the period between the 2d century B.C. and the 1st century A.D. (Nowell 794
797). The Dead Sea Scrolls were vital in providing concrete evidence of the Book of Psalms,
regardless of the questions they brought up about the date of the book. The Dead Sea Scrolls show
that, ...in the NT there are many quotations from the psalms (The Oxford Encyclopedia...). Modern
day hymns and the evidence from the Dead Sea Scrolls provide confirmation of the Book of Psalms

Evaluation Of A Research Methodology
Overview of the Research Methodology
This research methodology is an action plan because the researcher is trying to create a improvement
plan in her own school. This will be working with at risk and special education students in the math
classroom and ways to better serve those students using differentiated instruction and technology to
help lessen the educational gaps those students have and to raise MAP scores.
Proposed Research Design
The proposed research plan will include two classrooms of at risk and special education students math
classes. Incorporating technology and researched based instruction to help increase MAP scores and
student understanding. The instruments used will be pre and post tests, MAP scores for the year,
informal daily bell ringer and teacher responses. This unit will take one quarter to complete and will
help in looking at further instruction in math for these students in years to come. Because of the small
sampling and that it is based in one school an action methodology is the best fit.
Sampling Techniques
The sampling pool includes two sections of Math 1.5, consisting of 18 students in one class and 13 in
the other. All participating students were placed in Math 1.5 by either teacher placement, MAP scores
or IEP requirements. Of of the 31 students, 18 are boys and 13 are girls. The school district has a high
population of Native Americans so culture is an issue in this class. Nine of the students came from the
local reservation

National Health And Nutrition Survey
Government Involvement in Obesity It is evident today in society that obesity levels have increased
throughout the years. According to the National Health and Nutrition Survey, more than two out of
three adults are considered to be overweight or obese, and one third of children from ages six to
nineteen are considered to be overweight or obese ( Overweight and Obesity Statistics ). This is a
dramatic increase since the 1960 s, almost doubled. There is not enough awareness in the United
States on the issue. We are one of the most overweight countries of the world. The government must
obtain a more positive and enlightened role in America s obesity levels. Why has the obesity rated
doubled in adults and tripled in children since the 1960 s? There is a very simple explanation.
Americans are not aware of the severity of the problems with being overweight. The government and
media do not emphasize the importance of being healthy and in shape. Obesity has been defined as a
culture bound phenomenon. In the United States, many have just accepted this epidemic to be normal.
As the years fly by, we begin to not take notice on people s body weights. This may because the media
is starting to portray a new slogan of everybody is beautiful no matter the size and shape. Although
this is a very positive message, it allows the public to believe that being overweight is acceptable. In
reality, being overweight affects your heath in numerous, horrible ways. Being overweight means you

Moody s Committed No Crime Or Infraction
As was previously stated, Moody s committed no crime or infraction, yet one cannot overlook a
somewhat lax stance in regards to it s ratings on residential mortgage backed securities. Chairman and
Chief Executive Officer of Moody s, Raymond McDaniel, testified before the Financial Crisis Inquiry
Commission that while Moody s did observe a trend in the declining quality of mortgage backed
securities as early as 2003, that it is not the role of Moody s nor any other credit rating agency to serve
as the gate keeper of the securities market and that their ratings are merely opinions, not definitive
advice or recommendation on the stability or substantiality of a particular financial instrument.
What stakeholders were helped, and which were hurt, by Moody s actions?
The immediate beneficiaries of Moody s ratings were the securities issuers, those institutions which
provided these securities profited immensely from their continued distribution throughout the market,
as did Moody s who received sizeable fees to rate said instruments.[2] One Moody s employee
indirectly described the competitive pressures which led to the lapses in the ratings systems,
He described RMBS (residential mortgage backed securities) as the worst team to work on at Moody
s. It s difficult to maintain market share in a market that has become commoditized and where Moody
s expected loss analysis means higher costs for issuers.
The investors, placing great confidence in the quality of Moody s credit

The Catholic Church And Nazi Party Essay
One is a faith that billions of people have worshiped for hundreds of years, and the other is a regime
based on racist theories. Catholicism and Nazism. These two congregations have more in common
than anyone could have imagined. Both had principles and theories. History shows that both parties
shared hatred and sought out those they disapproved of for questioning, torture and even execution.
The medieval Catholic Church and Nazi Party had common motives. However, those in disagreement
argue that one is a faith and the other is politics. The actions of the Nazi Party were distinct
replications of those of the medieval Roman Catholic Church, which is a reminder to all that any
prevailing party, whether it be political or religious, can command a threatening power.
Catholicism was a prominent religion for over 1,000 years. Before the Reformation of the 1500s,
anyone who was Christian belonged to the Catholic Church any other form of Christianity was
considered a denomination. To eliminate denominations, the Church turned to inquisition. The Papal
Inquisition began in the late 12th century, when Pope Innocent III sent cardinals to Southern France,
where heresy was popularizing. However, the official inauguration is considered 1231, when Pope
Gregory IX sent Dominicans to Southern France, Germany, Austria, Lombardy, and Aragon to convict
heretics. Heretics were granted the chance to admit their deceit and return to the Roman Catholic
Church. If their heresy was sustained,

P.K. Dick’s The Minority Report and Steven Spielberg’s...
P.K. Dick s The Minority Report and Steven Spielberg s The Minority Report
Death can occur in four ways. A person can die from a physical illness, viruses and infections. A
person can die from an accident. A person can commit suicide. Finally a person can be murdered by
another person. What if murders could be prevented? In P.K. Dick s story The Minority Report, and in
Spielberg s film The Minority Report, the future can be altered by using incredible technology. The
success of Spielberg s adaptation of Dick s short story to film can be determined by the way each was
presented.
While giving a tour or precrime to Edward Witwer, the main character John Anderton finds the he is
supposed to kill a person he never met Leopold ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Minority Report by Spielberg is about a one man conspiracy to keep pre crime up and running. In
the book by Dick, there is a larger conspiracy to destroy precrime. The final results are opposite as
well; in the book precrime was maintained and still operational. In the movie, precrime was shut down
and destroyed. The methods of precrime are also different. In the book, there are three precogs which
mutter an indecipherable language, which a machine interprets into images of a murder. Then a card
comes out of the machine with the name of the killer and name of the victim on it. Spielberg made a
more modern method out of this. In the movie, images are taken directly from the three precogs brain
and then interpreted by a person who tries to find out the location of the murder. Also there are two
wooden balls made, one with the name of the killer and the other with the name of the victim, on
them. The movie also goes deeper into the creation of precrime, how crack babies whom had an odd
gift/curse of dreaming of murder became used to prevent murder. It also shows why Anderton joined
precrime, to make sure no one else would suffer like he did when he lost his son. The precogs in the
book and movie are very different. First off their names in the book are Donna, Jerry and Mike. In the
movie their names are Agatha, Arthur and Dashiell. The movie also involves the precogs, or at least
one of them, more into the story.

Social Media Issues In School
Social Media has been quite an issue in today s society. Social media has become an issue with people
of younger generations, especially those in school. Schools today have the biggest problem with
controlling their students and the way they use their social media both on their own time and during
school hours. Authors Steven Anderson and Bradley Shear have both addressed this problem in today
s society in their articles that deeply describe what can and should be done to resolve the issue in
schools. Anderson explains a way that a school can create their guidelines for device usage in schools
while Shear explains how schools have illegally and legally prohibited social media and device usage
in schools. Both authors have written their articles for mainly adults and especially for those who
work for middle and high schools. Anderson s article is the most informative article of the two as it
has a better writing style and gives schools a better point of view as to how to resolve the social media
problem in today s society. Anderson s article, How to Create Social Media Guidelines for Your
School, is a great process paper type of article. Anderson starts his article with a great explanation of
the social media problem which leads to his seven steps to solving it. Of course this isn t the only way
of solving the problem, his point is to give his audience an example of how to solve it rather than the
only way. This article is backed up with many different resources that are

Analysis of Barbie-Q by Sandra Cisneros Essay
Analysis of Barbie Q by Sandra Cisneros
Cisneros Barbie Q really stood out as a great piece of literature. Barbie Q is a quick glimpse into the
life of a poverty stricken child and her way of life. Though my life as of yet has been rather short, my
earliest childhood memories are overwhelmingly my fondest and her account really struck a chord.
Sandra Cisneros accurate reflection of a young mind and intricate writing methods expressed great
emotion. Her portrayal of a child s mentality evoked my childhood recollections while her realistic
tale of childhood bliss in the midst of poverty caused great empathy on my part making this my
preferred work we studied.
Sandra s tale brought back much nostalgia for my younger days. Those ... Show more content on

Skipping , humming , loopity loops , and pirouetting are silly things that everyone has done as a child,
including myself. These reminders set me in a time machine back to my favorite days when the only
thing important to me was my own happiness. Another less obvious reflection of a puerile mind is the
same story . In this tale of a young girl s game, Sandra Cisneros refers to a pretend play the girls have
made up for their Barbie s to act out. This play is referred to as the same story and really hit on what
childhood playtime was all about. I remember doing the exact same thing as a child with my brothers
(except we were cops and robbers), where we played out the same actions over and over, day after
day. Cisneros recognized this to be common to all children and smartly places it for the reader to
reflect on their past, as I did on my own. Sandra Cisneros evokes great sympathy for her characters,
which added to my favor of the story. In a first few sentences, Sandra has already revealed to the
reader the poor social status of the young girls and continues to do so throughout the tale. She
particularly points out their pauper way of life by repeating the small amount of toys the young girls
have. She mentions all the girls could afford was one extra outfit apiece then one paragraph later
recalls again our one outfit apiece . Also, Cisneros touches on the sock dress the girls made

for the Australian Red Cross Blood Service to maximise donor recruitment and retention has never
been greater. Young adults are a largely untapped source of potentially long serving donors. In this

The Melanesian Arc Of Papua New Guinea
The Melanesian arc initially formed from at least ca. 45 Ma, at which time the Pacific plate subducted
to the southwest beneath the Australian plate (Fig. 4) (e.g. Hall, 2002; Petterson et al., 1999; Schellart
et al., 2006). This subduction and arc development is one of the most poorly understood elements of
the southwest Pacific. The Melanesian arc comprised New Britain, New Ireland and Bougainville of
Papua New Guinea, much of the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu and Fiji (e.g. Abbott, 1995; Kroenke,
1984; Musgrave, 1990; Petterson et al., 1999). Since the time of arc formation, however, these
terranes have undergone complex tectonic reorganizations within the southwest Pacific by multiple
episodes of arc/forearc collision, subduction cessation and subsequent subduction polarity reversal to
displace and reorientate the fragments of arc basement (Hall, 2002; Petterson et al., 1999; Schellart et
al., 2006).
It is well understood that New Britain was previously part of the Melanesian arc where the Pacific
plate subducted to the southwest at the Melanesian trench (Fig. 1 and 4; Petterson et al., 1999).
However, the timing for initial arc formation is poorly constrained. The main body of New Britain is
composed of typical island arc magmatic rocks of Eocene and Oligocene age (Fig. 5). The Baining
Volcanics represent the initiation of arc magmatism at the convergent plate boundary between the
Australian and Pacific plates (Lindley, 2006; Madsen and Lindley, 1994), and deposited between

Mahler Symphony 5 Analysis
Mahler Symphony 5
Putting together a performance of a Mahler symphony, with its massive forces length, always requires
tremendous resources. As such, it can be very disappointing when, investement in these resources
result in a subpar performance. Take for example Christoph Eschenbach s performance with L
Orchestre de Paris in 2009, which is very underwhelming, especially when compared to Gergiev s
performance with the World Orchestra for Peace at the BBC proms in 2010, based on, the technical
skill exhibited, attention to details in the score, and interpretation of emotional content. Eschenbach s
recording is extremely problematic, simply due to technical issues, specifically, having unified
entrances and maintaining tempi. This comes through immediately in the first movement. The first
entrance after the trumpet solo (m. 13) sounds almost as if the brass are playing a grace note to the
cymbal crash. This is detrimental to the power of that chord. Immediately after that, the beat 4 pick
ups are a mess. In comparison, in Gergiev s recording those opening chords are riveting, and with the
intensity of the unified beat 4 pick ups, the audience almost can t help but be glued to their seats in the
presence of the overbearing orchestral sound this movement calls for. Pick ups continue to be a
problem for Eschenbach throughout the first 3 movements. This results in an uninteresting
performance of the 1st and 3rd movements because much of the character is lost. However,

Taking a Look at Cassava
Cassava (Manihot esculenta) is a tuberous root crop that serves as a source of carbohydrate for more
than 800 million people worldwide and its cultivation is estimated to cover more than 18.9 million
hectors (FAO, 2011). It is a vital source of food and income to resource poor farmers (especially
women) in the tropics and staple food crop for nearly 200 million people in the sub Saharan Africa
(Liu et al., 2011; Nyaboga et al., 2013). In Tanzania, cassava ranks only second to maize and third to
rice, with its calories contribution per day being 15 % (FAO 2009).
Cassava production in Africa is constrained with various pests and viral diseases especially cassava
brown streak and cassava mosaic diseases. Research efforts to genetically improve resistance against
viral diseases, drought, postharvest deterioration and nutrients fortification of this crop are underway
(Zang et al., 2005; Vanderschuren et al., 2009; Nyaboga et al., 2013). All these efforts are through
genetic transformation method which relies on the ability of cassava to regenerate from somatic
embryos to full plant. Due to heterozygozity nature of cassava, it is difficult to use its zygotic embryos
as starting materials for genetic transformation protocols (Raemakers et al., 1997; Sarria et al., 2000;
Taylor et al., 2001; Siritunga and Sayre 2003). Instead, organised structures from somatic embryo
cotyledons and friable embryogenic calli (FECs) have been developed (Schöpke et al., 1996; Taylor et
al., 2004). FECs

Best Budz Headphones are the Best
Millions of people use headphones every day. With a variety of uses, whether it s listening to music,
talking on the phone, or working out, headphones have become almost a necessity in everyday
America. One aspect that we believe hinders headphones that are currently being sold today is the fact
that they are all attached to a chord. Until recently, there was no such product that has come out with
cordless headphones. This is where our product comes in. Our product, Best Budz, will be the first of
its kind wireless headphones. We have created a headphone that is seemingly the same size as the
apple headphones, without the cord attached to them. We are trying to use simplicity at its finest. The
headphones will be magnetic and that way the consumer will be less prone to losing the ear buds. We
have also come up with a solution for when a headphone does indeed go missing. We have installed a
device into the ear buds to let the consumer know when a headphone is farther than three feet apart
from the other. When this happens, the headphones will start to beep and vibrate to ensure the
consumer can locate the missing earpiece. We want to clarify any concerns that come with small Ear
Buds being wireless, especially the question of where do I put the headphones when they are currently
not being used. This is where a use of a tie in product will come into play. We have created a new case
that will be sold for major types of wireless phones, such as the iPhone and any other smart

A Story s Impact on Life in Tim Burton s Big Fish
A story is not only memorable because of its content, but also because of who told it, the way it was
told, and the significance of the tale. The stories we tell or hear are a vital part of life and this is
evidently shown in Tim Burton s film, Big Fish. The film shows the true importance of stories and the
impacts they have on everyone. It follows the story of Edward Bloom, as he re tells his past in
unbelievable stories, and the life of his son William, as he tries to deal with his father s questionable
past. The movie shows the usefulness of stories in several ways; they are a person s legacy, they allow
us to momentarily escape reality, and they connect and intertwine people s lives.
To start off, stories are our legacy; what we leave behind when we are gone. They stay with the people
we have influenced and keep us alive in their memories. Through the stories we leave behind, we can
remain immortal to those who know our tale. This rephrases what William had said near the end of the
film; A man tells his stories so many times that he becomes the stories. They live on after him, and in
that way he becomes immortal. The stories that we tell are also comforting to those we depart from as
it can help with the sadness to think about the life that person had once led. Knowing that they had a
good life, and being able to laugh at funny memories is a great way to deal with the emotional pain
after losing someone. In Big Fish, during the funeral of Edward Bloom, everyone was

Coordination Plan
3. Coordination Plan There is a multitude of reasons for an organization to have a business continuity
plan in place. The incident does not really matter whether it is natural or manmade disaster/incident
but if an incident occurs, it can have a disastrous effect causing the company operation to become
unstable and having the inability to contain or control its impact can halt the business routine (Vacca,
2013).
Also, creating a good working relationship with the law enforcement can assist in aiding an
organization with an incident. Although organizations will sometimes not notify or include LE with
their investigation because it can only be for the internal purpose such as monitoring an employee, it
can have a negative impact on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Use of advanced security information and event management solution is in place in order to capture
any anomaly or detect nefarious activities within the network (Abelar, 2014).
Other considerations to take to make sure that network intrusion is detected and/mitigated is by
constantly monitoring the network for any anomalies and having an alert/notification system. Alert
and notification system will allow for the organizations incident response team/plan to be activated
and take necessary steps to isolate the incident, contain, and take necessary action to resolve the issue.
Additionally, organization needs to have in depth defense security architecture to protect their
infrastructure. Administrative, technical, and physical security controls are only a few of them that can
be used to protect their asset. Administrative control can implement policy for employees to take

The price of the snacks will be adjusted time to time based on the price of the raw material in the

Enzyme Rate Lab Report
Analysis:
The 6°C had a rate of 0.133 kPa/sec for Trial 1 and 0.0015 kPa/sec for Trial 2, which averages out to
0.06725 kPa/sec. The 24°C had a rate of 0.083 kPa/sec for Trial 1 and 0.001 kPa/sec for Trial 2,
producing an overall average of 0.042 kPa/sec. The 34°C had a rate of 0.014 kPa/sec for Trial 1 and
0.0008 kPa/sec for Trial 2, which averages out to 0.0074 kPa/sec. In 46°C, both trials resulted in 0.00
kPa/sec, producing an average of 0.00 kPa/sec. Compared to 24°C, 34°C, and 46°C, the 6°C had the
highest rate of enzyme activity. At 46°C, there is no rate of enzyme activity. The graph presents a
direct relationship between the temperature and rate of enzyme activity. The line of best fits shows
that as temperature increases, the rate of enzyme activity decreases.
Conclusion:
If the enzyme is placed in higher temperatures than its optimal temperature, then the rate of enzyme
activity will decrease or possibly denature. This hypothesis is proven correct throughout the
experiment results and findings. In this experiment, once the enzyme was placed in a temperature
beyond its optimal temperature of 37°C, the enzyme denatured. This ... Show more content on

This means having a variety of different temperatures rather than just four temperatures. Having more
variables in the experiment will make it easier to see the trend on a graph. Having freezing
temperature to very hot temperatures will help determine the optimal temperature of an enzyme, at
what temperature the enzyme denatures, and how the enzyme rate of activity changes throughout the
temperature range. Another scenario that could have been done differently to improve the results of
the experiment is the agitation of the yeast in test tube should have been done in a more consistent
manner. The tapping was intermittent and some taps were elongated or shortened. It is important to

Styles Of Parenting Styles
Basically all the traits that would would be expected a child to have based on each caregivers
parenting style if very different. Every child is different a way of parenting style may or may not affect
you in the future. For, example Ben Carson raised by single parent with little to no money. Ben Carson
grew with a mind for violence such as almost killing some loved ones of his. However, today Ben
Carson is a retired neurosurgeon. This just show that not every child living in poverty and being
influenced by violence is most likely to not succeed and continue that path as a child. Children that
grew up with parents with an Authoritarian style of parenting often had poor social skills, lower self
esteem, and basically always concerned of their actions because they are afraid of the consequences.
Children with Permissive parents know that they will always have it there way. Children that grew up
in this way of parenting tend to me immature, and often escape responsibilities. Children with
Authoritative parents tend be better off than the other children who s parents style of parenting was
either authoritarian or permissive. These children turn out to be the happiest, most successful and
basically a more cooperative friendly child. B) I do not believe these traits apply to me. Even though I
was raised by an authoritarian mother and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Relationship Between Fathers and Sons Essay
Both poems My Papa s Waltz by Theodore Roethke and Those Winter Sundays by Robert Hayden are
poems in which the speaker (a son in both cases) attempts to explain his complex relationship with his
father. It seems that the two poets are reflecting back in their early lives as young boys and showing
different appreciation toward their father. In my interpretation My Papa s Waltz is about a boy and that
is excited that his father got home to play with him. Only problem is the speakers father is drunk and it
hard to enjoy himself but he held on because the unconditional love he has for him, as the line says
The Whiskey on your breath / could make a boy dizzy; / But I hung like death: (1 2 3). However,

Also is a sign of being responsible and not indolent.
The impression that I get from My Papa s Waltz is that the boy s father is an alcoholic and
irresponsible. I say this because as the father and the boy were playing around in the kitchen The
unconscious father could of drop a hot pan that the mother could have been cooking on and cause
serious damage. That to me shows that the father don t really think about the possibilities. On the
contrary Those Winter Sundays Sundays too my father got up early (1) shows that the father is a hard
workingman, that everyday of the week he is up early with cracked hands that ached / from labor in
the weekday weather made (3 4). The speaker s father is a man that did hard labor to keep heat in the
house and also made sure his son was looking sharp for example, polished my good shoes as well
(12). Overall he was very responsible and loving even though the speaker didn t think so at the time
seeing that he didn t show appreciation and no one ever thanked him (5).
When it comes to the mood the speakers portray different attitudes towards their fathers. In My Papa s
Waltz the speakers mood is positive while the poet reflect back negatively and in Those Winter
Sundays the speaker attitude is like whatever and negative while the poet also reflect back an realizes
that his father was a

Cathedrals
Construction of cathedrals started around the 11 century. The first cathedrals were built in France and
later its style and architecture extended across Europe. During the medieval times people were going
through economic tribulations. There was absolutely no trade going and people where ingrained in the
manors they served. It was as if all that existed was just what was behind the castle walls. Until the
construction of cathedrals came forth this gave people faith and hope that their lives will prosper.
People traveled outside and went on pilgrimages to savor the elegant and massive cathedrals. Towns
were being established and the feudal system was diminishing. The towns offered freedom and job
opportunities for people so they set out to move ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Causes Of The French Revolution
The French Revolution was a radical social and political upheaval in France that took place from 1789
until 1799. It was partially carried forward by Napoleon Bonaparte when he later became the Emperor
of France. This period in history has major historical forces that had great influence on not only the
lives during that period, but also the modern world. Issues about citizenship, sovereignty, and slavery
were raised by the French Revolution. These debates soon enhanced modern political Ideologies.
Ideologies of liberalism, conservatism, and nationalism were beginning to appear and influence all
aspects of European life after the French Revolution.
The French Revolution was a historical period of time when the people of France overthrew the
monarchy and took control of the government. The uprising of political, social, and economic
conflicts were the primary causes of the French Revolution. This lead to the bringing of new ideas and
politics to Europe and many other countries. Early 19th century politics were known as ideologies.
These ideologies competed with other views of how the world should be. They were based on human
reason and the French Revolution was full of enlightened people with rational thoughts. Liberalism,
conservatism, and nationalism became sources of authority and importance, still continuing to affect
society today.
Liberalism was a product of enlightenment thinking, and held that human progress was inevitable.

Films made in the 1930 s emphasised on the monster and gore. When seen through the eyes of the
original audiences, critics and censors, the thirties Horrors were a fairly nasty lot. (3) Dracula was the
first classic Horror film in the 1930 s, which contained sound. It received financial success as well as
negative responses from critics. They saw these types of movies and had to consider whether people
would copy the violence or see the movie, as it was, that these acts of violence were just for the story.
Frankenstein (1931), Freaks (1932) and Island of Lost Souls (1933) were movies that caused outrage
with censors in Britain. They didn t like the influence these films could have on young teenagers,
which were primarily there target audience. The British ban on horror movies were instated in 1937,
this made profit of Horror films decline so fewer films were made. This affected Hollywood producers
like Universal as their main importers was Britain. At this point you could have said horror movies
were dead, as it made no sense producing movies that could not be shown.
The dislike of the monster was not the only issue that censors had with these films, but the sexual
encounters also caused dissatisfaction. In response to this they introduced a new rating system for
horror films called H , this was to show people that the films were horrific and could only be viewed
by adults. They had to try and consider what was deemed safe for children to watch and

proactive and do the right things. For example if your know you have to clean the house, why wait
until your mom has to tells you and start yelling at you. It s better to be proactive and do it without her
telling you. You can use this habit in so many ways. The proactive approach to a mistake is to
acknowledge it instantly, and learn from it and not letting it happen again. you have the freedom to
choose your response and to choose your action no one can choose them for you so, if your do
something that s not right why complain and argue, yes you can but, at the same time you were the
one to choose your actions. There are so many things in life that can put you down and make you
upset. You should always take responsibility for your choices and that s the problems with today s
humans in this world. Trying to point the finger at someone else, even tho they already know it was
there fault. You re probably asking why ? that my question for so long but still not being able to get
the answer, but i ll tell you my side of the point. You should always bounce back when you get hurt or
get upset look at the positive side there is always a really big reason why things happen. There always
people that start crying and just putting all there stressed on them and acting if something will change
just by them crying. My mom all ways told me to draw my own path and turn left and never followed

Examples Of Dystopia In The Maze Runner
If a society is somehow all content and happy with the way things are, then most modern day
problems would be solved. If there were some way to achieve this dream of a community, political
conflict would become a thing of the past. The desired goal is a utopian society. A utopia is a place or
stat gcxhe of order in which everything is perfect. The more that we fight for this dream, the more
apparent it becomes that such a society is impossible. When government tries to create a utopia, the
image of a perfect life could evolve. The result of this could be a dystopia. A dystopia is when the
opposite of a utopia is established when trying to create a utopia. In The Maze Runner, a group of
teenage boys are trapped in the center of one giant maze. An exemplary dystopian effect is given
within the book when one of the boys states: If you ain t scared, you ain t human (Dashner 9). The

They both centralize the power in one area and do not let the people have rights or a say in what is
going on. When a dystopia occurs, it is usually due to unequal distribution of power. When too much
power is put in the wrong hands, the society could spin out of control like a car on the highway. A
utopia is not realistic goal to have for any type of government. The best thing that a government can
do is to avoid becoming a dystopia. It all comes down to who has the power and what they are doing
with it. If the government has too much power, the people might rebel. The result would be a dystopia.
But if the people have too much power, there would not be enough order, also leading to a dystopia.
This scale needs to be balanced to where the government and the people have just the right amount of
power to keep the system in order. With so many flaws, the utopian dream could result in a dystopian

What Makes One Happy In Bette Greene s Summer Of My German...
Summer of My German Soldier by Bette Greene is a poignant book that delivers a powerful message
about discovering what makes one happy. In this book, a young girl named Patty Bergen is living in
Arkansas during WWII. She lives with a family who makes her feel unloved and she longs for a
friend. Patty hides Anton, a German prisoner in her house and she ends up developing a close bond
with him. The main theme of Summer of My German Soldier is that one must find the values within
themselves in order to derive happiness and lead a successful life. This is proven by the actions of
both Patty and her father. Patty is able to demonstrate the theme through her actions in the book.
Before hiding Anton, Patty was constantly abased by the critiques of her parents telling her that she
wasn t pretty or that she had no worth. From the day you were born you ve brought me nothing but
misery, (Greene 161). This particular quote that was said to Patty by her father shows why it was so

on D Day were to cut the Caen Bayeux road, seize the Car piquet airport west of Caen, and form a link

initially encountered heavy resistance from the German 716th Infantry Division; the preliminary

casualties in the opening minutes of the first wave. Strength of numbers, as well as coordinated fire
support from artillery and armored squadrons, cleared most of the coastal defenses within two hours
of landing. The subsequent push inland towards Car piquet and the Caen Bayeux railway line
achieved mixed results. The sheer numbers of men and vehicles on the beaches created lengthy delays

There are those who push themselves to their limits but still do not achieve fully, yet in a way they are

Figurative Language In Alice In Wonderland
An author frequently exemplifies different messages and conflict within a story or novel. More often
or not, an author portrays certain types of literary devices to convey a message between the setting and
characters. In Lewis Carroll s novel, Alice in Wonderland, Alice s curiosity and innocence as a child in
the Victorian Era leads to her exploring another world called Wonderland. She is challenged to find
the true meaning of exploring outside of an ordinary world which leads her to question her own

Carroll uses the food and drinks as a way of representing Alice s curious appetite for growing up in
her societal role. As she wanders around Wonderland, her curiosity often leads to her eating or
drinking an object in order to satisfy her curiosity. When she drinks the Drink Me substance she says,
Curiouser and curiouser! Cried Alice she was so much surprised, that for the moment she quite forgot
how to speak good English (Carroll 6). Many times throughout the novel, Alice adventures revolve
around food and drinks such as sweet baked snacks, potions and tea to appease her curiosity. Alice
begins to lose control of her eating and drinking habits of Wonderland which demonstrates her
maturity as she looks towards adulthood in the reality world. The more food and drinks Alice applies
to herself, Carroll establishes the metaphor of growing up results in unpredictable events and changes
that are irreversible. Alice stumbles across the Cheshire Cat who portrays the opposite of growing up
as he believes taking short cuts are better than asking for advice. The Chesire cat exclaims to Alice,
Then it doesn t matter which way you go (Carroll 49). The metaphor from the Cheshire Cat resulted
from Alice asking about visiting the Mad Hatter. In this case, The Cheshire Cat is a representation of
taking the easy route and not visiting the mad hatter,

  • 2. The Family Reunion By Jeredith Merrin Estranged The Family Reunion by Jeredith Merrin is a very jaunty poem. The author invites her readers into the setting of her own family reunion. She relates to her personal situation and how one seems to forget about their history. With the Unites States having a fifty percent divorce rate it make this poem very real and relatable. Family Reunion is a poem about a modern day family that initially sets a calm atmosphere; but quickly changes as she creates the reality of today s normal occurrence that divorce has set in the world. Merrin creates a theme of divorce and separation in each of the poems four lined stanzas. She begins with the divorced mother and her divorcing/ daughter (1 2) setting the theme for the ongoing element of separation. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Book Of Psalms Psalms Author Like most books in the Bible, the author of the Book of Psalms cannot be undeniably determined; authorship of Psalms is not perfectly clear to modern biblical scholars, as the book s history is a combined account of fact and religious tradition However, modern scholars are able to conclude that Psalms was written over approximately nine hundred years. It is believed that from the 1400s to the 500s BCE, Jewish and Christian traditions suppose that Moses wrote the first of the Psalms, and the latest Psalms were written by the Israelites during the Babylonian captivity (Nowell 794 797). On the other hand, some Psalms identify their authors by name, including: King David, Asaph, descendants of Korah, King Solomon, Heman, and Ethan ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hymns sung in churches today contain the exact wording as the Psalms. In addition to hymnals, the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls raised question about the date of Book of Psalms. According to modern scholars, The earlier consensus that the book of Psalms reached its final form around the 4th century B.C. has been challenged because of discrepancies found in scrolls at the Dead Sea, (Browning). Also, The best extant copies of the Masoretic Text are from the 10th to the 11th century A.D., but the discovery of several scrolls and fragments at the Dead Sea has provided versions of Hebrew psalms from the period between the 2d century B.C. and the 1st century A.D. (Nowell 794 797). The Dead Sea Scrolls were vital in providing concrete evidence of the Book of Psalms, regardless of the questions they brought up about the date of the book. The Dead Sea Scrolls show that, ...in the NT there are many quotations from the psalms (The Oxford Encyclopedia...). • 4. Evaluation Of A Research Methodology Overview of the Research Methodology This research methodology is an action plan because the researcher is trying to create a improvement plan in her own school. This will be working with at risk and special education students in the math classroom and ways to better serve those students using differentiated instruction and technology to help lessen the educational gaps those students have and to raise MAP scores. Proposed Research Design The proposed research plan will include two classrooms of at risk and special education students math classes. Incorporating technology and researched based instruction to help increase MAP scores and student understanding. The instruments used will be pre and post tests, MAP scores for the year, informal daily bell ringer and teacher responses. This unit will take one quarter to complete and will help in looking at further instruction in math for these students in years to come. Because of the small sampling and that it is based in one school an action methodology is the best fit. Sampling Techniques The sampling pool includes two sections of Math 1.5, consisting of 18 students in one class and 13 in the other. All participating students were placed in Math 1.5 by either teacher placement, MAP scores or IEP requirements. Of of the 31 students, 18 are boys and 13 are girls. The school district has a high population of Native Americans so culture is an issue in this class. Nine of the students came from the local reservation ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. National Health And Nutrition Survey Government Involvement in Obesity It is evident today in society that obesity levels have increased throughout the years. According to the National Health and Nutrition Survey, more than two out of three adults are considered to be overweight or obese, and one third of children from ages six to nineteen are considered to be overweight or obese ( Overweight and Obesity Statistics ). This is a dramatic increase since the 1960 s, almost doubled. There is not enough awareness in the United States on the issue. We are one of the most overweight countries of the world. The government must obtain a more positive and enlightened role in America s obesity levels. Why has the obesity rated doubled in adults and tripled in children since the 1960 s? There is a very simple explanation. Americans are not aware of the severity of the problems with being overweight. The government and media do not emphasize the importance of being healthy and in shape. Obesity has been defined as a culture bound phenomenon. In the United States, many have just accepted this epidemic to be normal. As the years fly by, we begin to not take notice on people s body weights. This may because the media is starting to portray a new slogan of everybody is beautiful no matter the size and shape. Although this is a very positive message, it allows the public to believe that being overweight is acceptable. In reality, being overweight affects your heath in numerous, horrible ways. Being overweight means you ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Moody s Committed No Crime Or Infraction As was previously stated, Moody s committed no crime or infraction, yet one cannot overlook a somewhat lax stance in regards to it s ratings on residential mortgage backed securities. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Moody s, Raymond McDaniel, testified before the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission that while Moody s did observe a trend in the declining quality of mortgage backed securities as early as 2003, that it is not the role of Moody s nor any other credit rating agency to serve as the gate keeper of the securities market and that their ratings are merely opinions, not definitive advice or recommendation on the stability or substantiality of a particular financial instrument. What stakeholders were helped, and which were hurt, by Moody s actions? The immediate beneficiaries of Moody s ratings were the securities issuers, those institutions which provided these securities profited immensely from their continued distribution throughout the market, as did Moody s who received sizeable fees to rate said instruments.[2] One Moody s employee indirectly described the competitive pressures which led to the lapses in the ratings systems, He described RMBS (residential mortgage backed securities) as the worst team to work on at Moody s. It s difficult to maintain market share in a market that has become commoditized and where Moody s expected loss analysis means higher costs for issuers. The investors, placing great confidence in the quality of Moody s credit ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Catholic Church And Nazi Party Essay One is a faith that billions of people have worshiped for hundreds of years, and the other is a regime based on racist theories. Catholicism and Nazism. These two congregations have more in common than anyone could have imagined. Both had principles and theories. History shows that both parties shared hatred and sought out those they disapproved of for questioning, torture and even execution. The medieval Catholic Church and Nazi Party had common motives. However, those in disagreement argue that one is a faith and the other is politics. The actions of the Nazi Party were distinct replications of those of the medieval Roman Catholic Church, which is a reminder to all that any prevailing party, whether it be political or religious, can command a threatening power. Catholicism was a prominent religion for over 1,000 years. Before the Reformation of the 1500s, anyone who was Christian belonged to the Catholic Church any other form of Christianity was considered a denomination. To eliminate denominations, the Church turned to inquisition. The Papal Inquisition began in the late 12th century, when Pope Innocent III sent cardinals to Southern France, where heresy was popularizing. However, the official inauguration is considered 1231, when Pope Gregory IX sent Dominicans to Southern France, Germany, Austria, Lombardy, and Aragon to convict heretics. Heretics were granted the chance to admit their deceit and return to the Roman Catholic Church. If their heresy was sustained, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. P.K. Dick’s The Minority Report and Steven Spielberg’s... P.K. Dick s The Minority Report and Steven Spielberg s The Minority Report Death can occur in four ways. A person can die from a physical illness, viruses and infections. A person can die from an accident. A person can commit suicide. Finally a person can be murdered by another person. What if murders could be prevented? In P.K. Dick s story The Minority Report, and in Spielberg s film The Minority Report, the future can be altered by using incredible technology. The success of Spielberg s adaptation of Dick s short story to film can be determined by the way each was presented. While giving a tour or precrime to Edward Witwer, the main character John Anderton finds the he is supposed to kill a person he never met Leopold ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Minority Report by Spielberg is about a one man conspiracy to keep pre crime up and running. In the book by Dick, there is a larger conspiracy to destroy precrime. The final results are opposite as well; in the book precrime was maintained and still operational. In the movie, precrime was shut down and destroyed. The methods of precrime are also different. In the book, there are three precogs which mutter an indecipherable language, which a machine interprets into images of a murder. Then a card comes out of the machine with the name of the killer and name of the victim on it. Spielberg made a more modern method out of this. In the movie, images are taken directly from the three precogs brain and then interpreted by a person who tries to find out the location of the murder. Also there are two wooden balls made, one with the name of the killer and the other with the name of the victim, on them. The movie also goes deeper into the creation of precrime, how crack babies whom had an odd gift/curse of dreaming of murder became used to prevent murder. It also shows why Anderton joined precrime, to make sure no one else would suffer like he did when he lost his son. The precogs in the book and movie are very different. First off their names in the book are Donna, Jerry and Mike. In the movie their names are Agatha, Arthur and Dashiell. The movie also involves the precogs, or at least one of them, more into the story. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Social Media Issues In School Social Media has been quite an issue in today s society. Social media has become an issue with people of younger generations, especially those in school. Schools today have the biggest problem with controlling their students and the way they use their social media both on their own time and during school hours. Authors Steven Anderson and Bradley Shear have both addressed this problem in today s society in their articles that deeply describe what can and should be done to resolve the issue in schools. Anderson explains a way that a school can create their guidelines for device usage in schools while Shear explains how schools have illegally and legally prohibited social media and device usage in schools. Both authors have written their articles for mainly adults and especially for those who work for middle and high schools. Anderson s article is the most informative article of the two as it has a better writing style and gives schools a better point of view as to how to resolve the social media problem in today s society. Anderson s article, How to Create Social Media Guidelines for Your School, is a great process paper type of article. Anderson starts his article with a great explanation of the social media problem which leads to his seven steps to solving it. Of course this isn t the only way of solving the problem, his point is to give his audience an example of how to solve it rather than the only way. This article is backed up with many different resources that are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Analysis of Barbie-Q by Sandra Cisneros Essay Analysis of Barbie Q by Sandra Cisneros Cisneros Barbie Q really stood out as a great piece of literature. Barbie Q is a quick glimpse into the life of a poverty stricken child and her way of life. Though my life as of yet has been rather short, my earliest childhood memories are overwhelmingly my fondest and her account really struck a chord. Sandra Cisneros accurate reflection of a young mind and intricate writing methods expressed great emotion. Her portrayal of a child s mentality evoked my childhood recollections while her realistic tale of childhood bliss in the midst of poverty caused great empathy on my part making this my preferred work we studied. Sandra s tale brought back much nostalgia for my younger days. Those ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Skipping , humming , loopity loops , and pirouetting are silly things that everyone has done as a child, including myself. These reminders set me in a time machine back to my favorite days when the only thing important to me was my own happiness. Another less obvious reflection of a puerile mind is the same story . In this tale of a young girl s game, Sandra Cisneros refers to a pretend play the girls have made up for their Barbie s to act out. This play is referred to as the same story and really hit on what childhood playtime was all about. I remember doing the exact same thing as a child with my brothers (except we were cops and robbers), where we played out the same actions over and over, day after day. Cisneros recognized this to be common to all children and smartly places it for the reader to reflect on their past, as I did on my own. Sandra Cisneros evokes great sympathy for her characters, which added to my favor of the story. In a first few sentences, Sandra has already revealed to the reader the poor social status of the young girls and continues to do so throughout the tale. She particularly points out their pauper way of life by repeating the small amount of toys the young girls have. She mentions all the girls could afford was one extra outfit apiece then one paragraph later recalls again our one outfit apiece . Also, Cisneros touches on the sock dress the girls made ... • 12. The Melanesian Arc Of Papua New Guinea The Melanesian arc initially formed from at least ca. 45 Ma, at which time the Pacific plate subducted to the southwest beneath the Australian plate (Fig. 4) (e.g. Hall, 2002; Petterson et al., 1999; Schellart et al., 2006). This subduction and arc development is one of the most poorly understood elements of the southwest Pacific. The Melanesian arc comprised New Britain, New Ireland and Bougainville of Papua New Guinea, much of the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu and Fiji (e.g. Abbott, 1995; Kroenke, 1984; Musgrave, 1990; Petterson et al., 1999). Since the time of arc formation, however, these terranes have undergone complex tectonic reorganizations within the southwest Pacific by multiple episodes of arc/forearc collision, subduction cessation and subsequent subduction polarity reversal to displace and reorientate the fragments of arc basement (Hall, 2002; Petterson et al., 1999; Schellart et al., 2006). It is well understood that New Britain was previously part of the Melanesian arc where the Pacific plate subducted to the southwest at the Melanesian trench (Fig. 1 and 4; Petterson et al., 1999). However, the timing for initial arc formation is poorly constrained. The main body of New Britain is composed of typical island arc magmatic rocks of Eocene and Oligocene age (Fig. 5). The Baining Volcanics represent the initiation of arc magmatism at the convergent plate boundary between the Australian and Pacific plates (Lindley, 2006; Madsen and Lindley, 1994), and deposited between ... • 13. Mahler Symphony 5 Analysis Mahler Symphony 5 Putting together a performance of a Mahler symphony, with its massive forces length, always requires tremendous resources. As such, it can be very disappointing when, investement in these resources result in a subpar performance. Take for example Christoph Eschenbach s performance with L Orchestre de Paris in 2009, which is very underwhelming, especially when compared to Gergiev s performance with the World Orchestra for Peace at the BBC proms in 2010, based on, the technical skill exhibited, attention to details in the score, and interpretation of emotional content. Eschenbach s recording is extremely problematic, simply due to technical issues, specifically, having unified entrances and maintaining tempi. This comes through immediately in the first movement. The first entrance after the trumpet solo (m. 13) sounds almost as if the brass are playing a grace note to the cymbal crash. This is detrimental to the power of that chord. Immediately after that, the beat 4 pick ups are a mess. In comparison, in Gergiev s recording those opening chords are riveting, and with the intensity of the unified beat 4 pick ups, the audience almost can t help but be glued to their seats in the presence of the overbearing orchestral sound this movement calls for. Pick ups continue to be a problem for Eschenbach throughout the first 3 movements. This results in an uninteresting performance of the 1st and 3rd movements because much of the character is lost. • 15. Taking a Look at Cassava Cassava (Manihot esculenta) is a tuberous root crop that serves as a source of carbohydrate for more than 800 million people worldwide and its cultivation is estimated to cover more than 18.9 million hectors (FAO, 2011). It is a vital source of food and income to resource poor farmers (especially women) in the tropics and staple food crop for nearly 200 million people in the sub Saharan Africa (Liu et al., 2011; Nyaboga et al., 2013). In Tanzania, cassava ranks only second to maize and third to rice, with its calories contribution per day being 15 % (FAO 2009). Cassava production in Africa is constrained with various pests and viral diseases especially cassava brown streak and cassava mosaic diseases. Research efforts to genetically improve resistance against viral diseases, drought, postharvest deterioration and nutrients fortification of this crop are underway (Zang et al., 2005; Vanderschuren et al., 2009; Nyaboga et al., 2013). All these efforts are through genetic transformation method which relies on the ability of cassava to regenerate from somatic embryos to full plant. With a variety of uses, whether it s listening to music, talking on the phone, or working out, headphones have become almost a necessity in everyday America. One aspect that we believe hinders headphones that are currently being sold today is the fact that they are all attached to a chord. Until recently, there was no such product that has come out with cordless headphones. This is where our product comes in. Our product, Best Budz, will be the first of its kind wireless headphones. We have created a headphone that is seemingly the same size as the apple headphones, without the cord attached to them. We are trying to use simplicity at its finest. The headphones will be magnetic and that way the consumer will be less prone to losing the ear buds. We have also come up with a solution for when a headphone does indeed go missing. We have installed a device into the ear buds to let the consumer know when a headphone is farther than three feet apart from the other. When this happens, the headphones will start to beep and vibrate to ensure the consumer can locate the missing earpiece. We want to clarify any concerns that come with small Ear Buds being wireless, especially the question of where do I put the headphones when they are currently not being used. This is where a use of a tie in product will come into play. We have created a new case that will be sold for major types of wireless phones, such as the iPhone and any other smart ... • 17. A Story s Impact on Life in Tim Burton s Big Fish A story is not only memorable because of its content, but also because of who told it, the way it was told, and the significance of the tale. The stories we tell or hear are a vital part of life and this is evidently shown in Tim Burton s film, Big Fish. The film shows the true importance of stories and the impacts they have on everyone. It follows the story of Edward Bloom, as he re tells his past in unbelievable stories, and the life of his son William, as he tries to deal with his father s questionable past. The movie shows the usefulness of stories in several ways; they are a person s legacy, they allow us to momentarily escape reality, and they connect and intertwine people s lives. To start off, stories are our legacy; what we leave behind when we are gone. They stay with the people we have influenced and keep us alive in their memories. Through the stories we leave behind, we can remain immortal to those who know our tale. This rephrases what William had said near the end of the film; A man tells his stories so many times that he becomes the stories. They live on after him, and in that way he becomes immortal. The stories that we tell are also comforting to those we depart from as it can help with the sadness to think about the life that person had once led. Knowing that they had a good life, and being able to laugh at funny memories is a great way to deal with the emotional pain after losing someone. Summer of My German Soldier by Bette Greene is a poignant book that delivers a powerful message about discovering what makes one happy. In this book, a young girl named Patty Bergen is living in Arkansas during WWII. She lives with a family who makes her feel unloved and she longs for a friend. Patty hides Anton, a German prisoner in her house and she ends up developing a close bond with him. The main theme of Summer of My German Soldier is that one must find the values within themselves in order to derive happiness and lead a successful life. This is proven by the actions of both Patty and her father. Patty is able to demonstrate the theme through her actions in the book. The objectives of the 3rd Division on D Day were to cut the Caen Bayeux road, seize the Car piquet airport west of Caen, and form a link between the two British beaches of Gold and Sword on either side of Juno Beach. The landings initially encountered heavy resistance from the German 716th Infantry Division; the preliminary bombardment proved less effective than had been hoped and rough weather forced the first wave to be delayed until 07:35. The beach was defended by two battalions of the German 716th Infantry Division, with elements of the 21st Panzer Division in reserve near Caen. The Canadians took heavy casualties in the opening minutes of the first wave. Strength of numbers, as well as coordinated fire support from artillery and armored squadrons, cleared most of the coastal defenses within two hours of landing. The subsequent push inland towards Car piquet and the Caen Bayeux railway line achieved mixed results. The sheer numbers of men and vehicles on the beaches created lengthy delays between the landing of the 9th Brigade and the beginning of substantive attacks to the south. The 7th Brigade encountered heavy initial opposition before pushing south and making contact with the 50th Infantry Division at Creully.
