Genetic Cluster Number Of Genetic Clusters
2.5 Number of genetic clusters
To infer genetic cluster number (K) in our sample set, we used two Bayesian approaches based on the
clustering method which differed in that they: a) incorporate or not a null allele model, and b) use a
non spatial or spatial algorithm. We selected this approach because Bayesian models capture genetic
population structure by describing the genetic variation in each population using a separate joint
posterior probability distribution over loci. First, we used STRUCTURE v.2.3.3 (Falush et al., 2003;
Pritchard et al., 2000), which does not incorporate a null allele model, but uses a non spatial model
based on a clustering method and it is able to quantify the individual genome proportion from each
inferred population. A previous run had been carried out to define what ancestry models (i.e. no
admixture model and admixture model) and allele frequency models (i.e. correlated and uncorrelated
allele frequency models) fit our dataset. All these previous runs were conducted with locality
information prior to improving the detection of structure when this could be weak (Hubisz et al.,
2009). Run parameters of previous simulations included five runs with 50,000 iterations following a
burn in period of 5,000 iterations for K = 1 10 as number of tested clusters. Before choosing models to
run our dataset we evaluated Evanno s index ΔK (Evanno et al., 2005), to identify whether different
models yielded different K values, implemented in STRUCTURE HARVESTER

The Atomic Weight Of The Middle
North Sydney Girls High

Chemistry Assessment Task 1

Question 1 Question 2
The first use of the triads was in 1817, when Johann Dobereiner observed that elements could be
placed in groups of three based on their properties. When the three elements were ordered according
to atomic weight, the smallest weight would have the least significant reaction or mildest property,
whilst the heaviest would have the most significant or strongest property. Further, the atomic weight of
the middle element would be almost exactly the average of the two other elements. These properties
were considered too coincidental not to be of some significance. One of the first triads to be observed
was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When ordered with atomic number there are only a few instances where the atomic masses do not
ascend which would have resulted in the two elements being switched in the original order of
elements when atomic weight was used. These errors are pairs where the second of the pair is placed
first when ordered with atomic weight; three of which are argon and potassium, cobalt and nickel,
tellurium and iodine.
The Law of Triads began to direct chemists towards the patterns found in lists or tables of elements.
Many chemists began exploring patterns but it wasn t until 1864 that the next step was made. John
Newlands realised that when ordered by atomic weight a regular pattern of properties formed. He
noted that elements seemed to fall into patterns of eight whereby every eighth element would have the
same properties. This was not entirely true however as Newlands saw this pattern and was reminded
of a musical scale s eight note repetition. Nevertheless, the recognition of this in fact deterred
Newlands from making further inferences as he continued to attempt to force elements into this
musical scale like format which was not entirely applicable.
Furthermore, the noble gases had yet to be discovered when Newlands Law of Octaves was formed.
This meant that the pattern didn t account for an extra element in the patterns of eight. As can be seen
on the right, noble gases are not included and had they been, they would be placed in

Essay on Rabbit Proof Fence
Rabbit Proof Fence in the context of Australian identity:
In the introductory lecture our attention was focused on a number of core themes which run
throughout the course. One such theme was the concept of a nation and the way in which cultural
products of the nation shape our sense of identity. Rabbit Proof Fence is an important film to examine
within this context as it is the first international film to examine the issue of Australia s Stolen
Generation. The film brought the story of the Australian Stolen Generation to a wide audience, both
nationally and internationally. Today I am going to consider what kind of impact the film had and also
a number of important points concerning the film.
The film is an adaptation of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The film runs through a simple, yet effective plot of abduction, incarceration, escape, pursuit and
finally homecoming. The film removes all extraneous material for example the initial journey from
Jigalong to the Moore River native settlement is condensed. Therefore it is evident that the film
privileges narrative interpretation over historical accuracy.
To what extent do Hollywood narrative conventions override the historical Aboriginal experience
which is fore grounded in the book?
The film combines documentary techniques with emotive scenes to encourage a certain response from
the audience. The documentary footage acts to encourage the audience to see the film as one of truth
and realism. The film is introduced by the living Molly who speaks in dialect and ends with
documentary like footage of herself and Daisy walking over the land. These scenes attempt to frame
the narrative as one of truth and place the narrative in context.

Differences Of Marriage In Geoffrey Chaucer s The...
In Geoffrey Chaucer s work The Canterbury Tales, The Franklin s Tale and The Merchant s Tale
depict many differences on the characters and authors outlook on marriage. In both of Chaucer s tales,
the manner in which marriage transpires between the two couples varies prominently. Additionally, the
effort to control the wives in the tales is also conspicuously different. In Chaucer s two tales, the
author depicts the differences in both women by seeing if they are faithful to the vows of their
marriage. Throughout the Canterbury Tales, Chaucer demonstrates to the reader a true and ethical
appeal by using the aspect of marriage. The ways in which marriage begins in Chaucer s two tales
differs with each individual couple. For example, in The Franklin s Tale the righteous knight,
Arviragus, marries his love, Dorigen, but only after honorably courting her for some time. A knight
that loved and dide his pain to serve a lady in his beste wyse; and many a labour, many a greet
empryse (line 730). Only after having received her entire heart and her full consent did he seek out her
hand. Nonetheless, after their wedding he still continuously and passionately served her and continued
to earn her undying love. Despite the noble deeds done in The Franklin s Tale , Chaucer did not
bestow the Merchant s Tale characters with the same level of honor and righteousness. For instance,
the character Januarie, in The Merchant s Tale rarely demonstrates any honorable qualities towards

Corruption in Kenya
Corruption in Kenya
Introduction
Corruption is a global phenomenon and is not bound to be found only in the developing countries but
also in the developed countries of the world. Corruption crosses boundaries or age and is mentioned in
the religious books of old such as the Bible (Deuteronomy Chapter 16, verses 19), and in Chinese
dynasty of Qin Dynasty (221 207).[1] Examples of corruption in developed countries include in
Russia where the government of Putin went through all methods known to them to corruptly take
away the petroleum mining from the owner,[2]who also is accused of having acquired the wealth
corruptly under the leadership of Boris Yeltin s rule which cost Russia its valued national resources
and gave it to the oligarchy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the Kenyan scope, corruption is defined to include benefit which means any gift, loan, fee, reward,
appointment, service, favour, forbearance, promise or other consideration or advantage; corruption
referring to an offence under any of the provisions of sections 39 to 44, 46 and 47; bribery; fraud;
embezzlement or misappropriation of public funds; abuse of office; breach of trust; or an offence
involving dishonesty in connection with any tax, rate or impost levied under any Act or under any
written law relating to the elections of persons to public office.[13]Together with these are the
Economic crimes referring to offences under section 45; or offences involving dishonesty under any
written law providing for the maintenance or protection of the public revenue.[14]
This wide definition of corruption does not cover any corrupt activities committed in a private entity
or fund. This does not however imply that corruption only occurs in the public sector. Instead the
network of corruption extends into executive, judiciary, legislative, civil service, private sector down
to the village tycoon and villager who gives gifts to

Persuasive Essay On Torture In History
The use of brute force and psychological manipulation to obtain information from detainees is known
as torture. Considered to be one of the most common interrogation methods, this barbaric craft has
been practiced in different cultures throughout history. Ranging from physical assault to white torture,
torture takes many forms. Although widely practiced, this illegal, immoral, and ineffective method has
no bearing in America. Countless torture methods have been used throughout history. One especially
prevalent form is white torture, this method is especially cruel as it preys on the mind of the detainee
rather than the body. White torture embodies both emotional and psychological torture. In lieu of
inflicting physical pain upon the individual, sensory deprivation and total isolation are used. The
detainee is imprisoned in a room that is completely white. There are no windows and the meals given
are completely white. This torture tactic is frequently employed by the Iranian government and the
effects of this torture, while not physical, are lifelong. On the opposing end of the spectrum, an
example of physical torture is waterboarding. Waterboarding is a form of torture in which water is
poured over a cloth covering the face and breathing passages of an immobilized captive, causing the
individual to experience the sensation of drowning. Torture is an extremely controversial topic in our
society today. Foreign terror attacks from groups such Al Qaeda and ISIS have thrust

ABSTRACT Scientists all across the world have used model organisms to study genetics. These
organisms are selected based off of easily noted physical characteristics, their small sizes and
relatively short generation time, and also being readily available to use and tractable. That is why
Drosophila melanogaster is a great model organisms because it fits all these characteristics. I propose

made two culture vials by first placing about 1.5 cm of flakes along with about four grains of yeast
into each vial. Then, with a glass pipette, a solution of water and 1% propionic acid is added to the
flakes and yeast to hydrate them. This will cause the flakes and yeast to turn blue, and the solution is
added until it is a consistent bright blue color where no isolated flakes are visible (it is helpful to mash
up the flakes and yeast). Once the necessary color is established, the vials need to sit for about eight to
ten hours. If whenever, at any time during the experiment, the media cracks or has a faded color, the
fly solution is to be added once more to rehydrate the media. After the media is made, a net is folded

Examples Of Supernatural Elements In A Very Old Man With...
In the short story A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, combines both
supernatural and natural events in a confusing, unexpected but yet inspiring way that makes us wonder
how we would respond if a supernatural event had happen in our front yard. From combining an
ordinary day to rainy days and greedy community, with an amazing supernatural, an angel, who takes
in cruelty, strengthen itself and flies away, Marquez successfully uses unique styles and creative tones
to create a short story that would carry essentials of our daily routine in our lives and succeeds. With
the right mindset, Marquez invites us to look closer in our lives and determine whether the normal and
not so normal events could be change.
At the beginning of the story the tone is set with a natural event where a ... Show more content on

For example, when Father Gonzaga notices that the angel was more of a human form than an angel.
Everything we ve vision how an angel would be is the exact opposite of how the old man is presenting
himself. But as we look closely, the old man s character sends us a hint of an angel, which is patience.
From being locked up in a chicken coop and being poked as if he was in a zoo, he deals with the
cruelty and doesn t fight back at all. He sits there and deals with it. This could be a sign of an angel s
quality, dealing with such disturbing cruel treatment in a calm way.
At the end of the story, as the angel deals with such cruelty, he is finally awarded with new feathers. I
believe that the action of story matches the tone and setting. The cold winter is over and a new life is
approaching. Like most angels, the old man s new feathers aren t so impressive, look more like
another misfortune of decrepitude, (Marquez 403) but with new feathers, he is

Social Class And Social Classes
Social classes play a vital role in dynamic of families. The definition of social class is ambiguous and
has no clearly outlined definition. However it is believed to be a combination of different aspects such
as one s life chances or resources, one s status group, or those who share similar lifestyles and one s
education level make up an individuals social class. Therefore, in an ideal set up there would 4 social
cases the upper, middle, working, and poor classes (Judge 2015) and these are the 4 that I will be
using to distinguish the difference in how parents raise their children across social classes. One main
influence that causes a polarization of social classes are parents economic resources and education
level, thus influencing the jobs parents have and the availability they may have to invest in their child
s life. However the key characteristics that influence the ways parent raise their children are how they
organize their child s daily life, the use of language around their children, and through social
interactions (Lareau 202). However the two main approaches across social class parents take in raising
their child are natural growth and concerted cultivation. Concerted cultivation approach to parenting is
when parents seek to actively enhance their children s talents, and opinions (Cherlin 2013). Parents are
generally college educated and have jobs that allow for financial stability within the family. Typically
this parenting style pertains to upper and

Japan Baseball History
The sport of baseball was not established until the late 1800 s. The sport was not played at the
collegiate or even pro level until the early 1900 s. Whenever the first colleges started playing baseball,
there were two colleges that aided in the help to form the Tokyo Big Six University League: Keio and
Waseda. There was also a high school championship that occurred in Osaka, which helped spark the
love of baseball across the nation. The country of Japan didn t have a professional team at this time,
but there was one thing that caused them to change their minds. The United States team was touring
from country to country which eventually led them to stop in Japan. They were showing their baseball
skills, and the Japanese people realized that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This team also toured the United States, and later went on to be named the Tokyo Giants. This team,
along with seven other teams made up what was then called: The Japanese Baseball League. Around
1950, the Nippon Professional Baseball League (NPB), was divided into two different leagues: the
Pacific League and the Central League. Each of these leagues were made up of six teams that played
each other up until the Japan Series, as well as the All Star game. Despite the many athletes that Japan
has, not very many of them went on to play in the Major League. One major factor that kept Japanese
players from playing in the Major League during this time was World War II. The Japanese players
felt that they shouldn t leave their country during that time of turmoil, so many of them turned down
contracts to play in the majors. Another reason many of them stayed to play in Japan was the contracts
that many of them had with the NPB. Around 2000, the NPB and MLB worked out the differences, in
order for Japanese players to play in the MLB without there being consequences because of their NPB

Hallmark Aficionados In The Film, When Calls The Heart

Even when I was auditioning, I was very impressed with the script. While the story might be typical,
the approach is anything but typical. I would call it a story with many layers.
An underlying theme in the film is that of being environmentally friendly. The hip approach today is
that of restaurants serving better foods and using environmentally sound methods. Fast food places are
consistently in competition with the places that serve better quality, fresher foods. And all too often,
those fast food places lose the battle.

Essay on Revenge In Two Literary Works
Revenge as a theme is cleverly built upon throughout Hamlet; with it being the driving force behind
three of the key characters in the play. Revenge is a frighteningly vicious emotion, which causes
people to act blindly and without reason. In Poe s, The Cask of Amontillado , Montresor enacts
revenge for reasons unknown. Hamlet in contrast, has all the motive in the world to complete his task;
yet he constantly hesitates. The text reveals that the need for revenge creates a stranglehold on the
genuine emotions, thoughts, and actions of three characters: Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, Laertes; son
of Polonius, and Fortinbras; Prince of Norway. This hold makes the characters act beyond their
standard ethical positions and makes them helpless to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He is obstructed from his genuine rational moral view and if he were morally coherent, he would have
seen that taking such drastic action removes himself from his genuine thoughts. In The Cask , the
perspective we are given on the story is limited; which allows for an open interpretation of what his
true motives for revenge are. As Baraban states Montresor elaborates a sophisticated philosophy of
revenge: I must not only punish, but punish with impunity (48) presenting the reader with a vibrant
view of what he intends to do. The question one begs is, for what reason? Most readers would finish
this story and assert that mentally, Montresor is insane. As Baraban states, Poe s intriguing silence
about the nature of the insult that made Montresor murder Fortunato has given rise to explanations of
Montresor s deed through insanity. Richard M. Fletcher, for example, maintains that Montresor s
actions are irrational and that therefore he is mad. (50) Montresor states at the opening of the story,
you,who so well know the nature of my soul ( are words likely said on his death bed to his confessor;
being that he committed this deed fifty years prior, it would make sense that he is finally coming
clean. Moreover, since he is commenting on the nature of his soul, it is plausible to assume that
Montresor has been deemed crazy

The 14th Amendment Essay
The 14th Amendment
The 14th Amendment provides that no government shall take away the individual right to life, liberty,
and property, within its jurisdiction, without due process of law.
Equal Protection Clause
No state may deprive any individual of the equal protection of the law.
Generally, the statutory classification provided by Congress is presumptively valid, unless such a
classification is considered suspect. The classification touches upon race or ethnicity of citizens falls
within one of the suspect categories. The Court stated that all racial classifications, imposed by
whatever federal, state, or local governmental actor, must be analyzed by a reviewing court under
strict scrutiny. Adarand Constructors, Inc. v. Pena, 515 U.S. 200 (1995). Thus, suspect classifications
are presumed to be void and subjected to heightened scrutiny.

A benign discrimination may be justified where the distinction is used for remedial purposes of
desegregation. The statute is crafted to ban the exclusion of other racial groups and afford them the
membership eligibility. This would serve its remedial purpose of abolishing pre existing
discrimination. In addition, it has been established historically that white males represent the class that
is socially most advantaged: They do not belong to a discrete insular minority; thus, the impact of the
statute cannot be said to have been placed on a minority group. As the court held in Hunter, where the
discriminatory law s impact falls on minority, it will be under strict scrutiny and the majority needs no
protection against discrimination. Hunter v. Erickson, 393 U.S. 385

When We Judge Another We Define Our Self A family member once told me never judge a book by
its cover. If you open the book and see what is inside instead of overlooking it, you might find it
interesting after all. This quote by my family member can easily be tied to The Myth of the Latin
Women: I just met a Girl Named Maria by Judith Ortiz Cofer, and Just walk on By: Black Men and
Public Spaces by Brent Staples. Cofer, talks about how she was stereotyped for being a Latin woman
in American culture. Then Staples, talks about how he was discriminated for being a tall, black man
that worked as a journalist in a predominantly white field. Both of these authors, were being put in
categories based on their appearance. People assumed they were a certain way because she was
Hispanic and because he was African American. Modern society is quick to judge people based on
their appearance; mainly on attributes of race and gender, eventually affecting the person s outlook on
life. People can often be treated and judged in a less than an equal manner. Before they even get to
know the true nature of a person, they are judged based on race. Additionally, a female may be
overlooked for a certain job and the job is then given to a male counterpart, based solely on gender.
Lastly, people will see the world in a different perspective because of the exposure of stereotypes.

The Book Of Alice B. Toklas By Gertrude Stein
The Modernist writers were all about finding their own identity. There are those who were struggling
to find their own because they were close to the modernists that expressed it. Through
experimentation they were able to find an identity that they were comfortable with. Gertrude Stein
found a voice when she wrote about her life from the point of view of her partner Alice B. Toklas.
When it comes to writers talking about themselves they couldn t help but use the words and actions of
their own characters, to create an idea of experimenting that they are unable to reveal about
themselves or others that hey might have known. They are shadows of who they once were, but create
a new identity under those experiments. The idea of being a shadow of someone else s identity helps
shapes their own but, also the identity of the people that take on as they experiment with finding
themselves . The Autobiography of Alice B. Toklas by Gertrude Stein is one of the most known works
by the author. It is often seen as a simple read as compared to the rest of her works. Stein s works are
often seen as experimental. The Autobiography of Alice B. Toklas could be seen experimental as well,
because she wanted to tell her story from the perspective of her partner through the eyes of her partner
Toklas. In the first chapter of the book, it may be the only thing that gives a voice to Toklas herself.

asks, What but the mystery which it obscurely typifies has made this piece of crape so awful?
(Hawthorne 1044). Hawthorne has built up this character so carefully and intensely to this point, to
quite directly state that this veil on his face represents mystery. The minister also begs the question of,
what else does it represent? Asking his congregation, who also persecuted him, to look deep in
themselves and figure out the real reason for his apparel. The minister blatantly reveals that his veil
typifies mystery in a sense where his congregation cannot keep themselves together, unless they know
the absolute truth. Hawthorne uses this veil as a direct representation of mystery and self control, but
he also uses it as a symbol of a divine controller, tying in spirituality and religion. Towards the
beginning of the story the minister reveals himself looking different, as he wore an obvious black veil
over his face. His audience hated the idea of his new look as they muttered amongst themselves, I don
t like it, and Our parson has gone mad! (Hawthorne 1038). These two particular quotes obviously
reveal the initial distaste for the veil, but it also shows that the congregation could not even control
themselves, as they wondered why he wore this disgusting cover. The

Laguna Fire 1970
Laguna Fire 1970 On September 26, 1970 due to power lines that were knocked down, and with the
increase of winds near the Kitchen Creek area, the Laguna fire began. Only within twenty four hours
the fire had already expanded towards El Cajon and Spring Valley, which is thirty miles away from the
original spot where the fire began. According to the article titled, Laguna fire, September 26, 1970
published on the website WildFire Today stated that The Laguna fire burned 175,425 acres, killed
eight civilians, and destroyed 382 homes. The Laguna Fire was said to be the second largest fire in
Californian history. Within the same article a firefighter shares his experience to the news of The
Laguna Fire he states, The day the Laguna fire ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Laguna Fire was said to be the biggest fire during that particular time. Because of its negative
impact on the communities of Harbison Canyon and Crest it resulted in the construction of The
Modular Airborne Firefighting System. This system allows for firefighters to use aircrafts to contain
and stop wildfires at great lengths and one hundred percent effectiveness. The Laguna Fire resulted in
impactful changes to fire suppression and fire ground tactics. In addition, the design of the five tanks
allowed for quick and effective transitions. Due to its short loading time it allows for faster
preparation for when a wildfire may occur. Which is a key factor when dealing with wildfires.
Furthermore, The Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System was updated to better help the firefighters
when transporting the tanks. The newly developed system which is Modular Airborne Fire Fighting
System II redesigned the tanks. Instead of five huge tanks they changed it and made one ginormous
tank. Referring back to the article titled, MAFFS II Making an Impact it mentions, The MAFFS II
systems allow the MAFFS aircraft to be loaded at the same bases as the larger civilian air tankers due
to the built in compressors used to pressurize their load of fire retardant to be forced out of the aircraft.
this is another reason why the new Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System II is extremely effective
and widely used. The Firefighter s do not have to stop at certain bases to have the tanks pressurized,
because with the new development with the two compressors inside the aircrafts they can just
pressurize the tanks there, and the 24 hour resource allows for better access to these military aircrafts
to be used. Because they are a twenty four hour resource it means that they have twenty four hours to
arrive on the scene of the fire. Furthermore, the process of

Standing Up for What is Right
Can you imagine standing up for something that is very important to you and being sent to prison
because of it? Nelson Mandela went against the apartheid and fought for equality in South Africa. He
was sentenced to life in prison because of his association with the African National Congress and got
charged with treason. Mandela got punished for something he stood strongly for and suffered the
consequences. He was strong throughout his years in prison and demonstrated his strength numerous
times throughout his life. Nelson Mandela demonstrated courage by not giving up in prison and
pushing forward to have equality, acting with integrity by going against the apartheid, and made a
difference by improving South African rights and many opinions and ways of improving equality.

Theme Of Ode On A Grecian Urn By John Keats
Life s mysteries are best stated in writing. Some mysteries are revealed, while others remain unknown
forever. John Keats, one of England s greatest poets, published several poems, including one of his
most famous ones in 1819, Ode on A Grecian Urn (Keats 247). Keats was a renowned poet during the
British Romantic period. Romantic literature focused on beauty and emotions. So, what is the
significance of the scenes depicted on the mysterious urn? Is the urn simply a masterpiece of art with
emphasis only on physical beauty? In the poem, Ode on A Grecian Urn , John Keats creates
mysterious scenes on a Greek urn to contrast between everlasting art and human life. Keats contrasts
both worlds through the urn s elaborate description, the theme of personal relationships, and the
ultimate message of beauty, with significant relevance to modern times.
The poems ambiguities begin with the speaker describing the urn. However, these ambiguities are not
just intended by Keats to remain enigmatic, they are there to be connected like a puzzle, piece by
piece. As the speaker, who is a mystery himself, describes the urn, it is evident that he is bewildered
with a spark of curiosity, attempting to grasp the meaning of the scenes (Mishra 51). The speaker first
states what he sees from a distance. He describes the distinct advantages of the urn as an object, Thou
still unravished bride of quietness...foster child of silence and slow time (Keats 247). He defines the
world of art as

Harappa And Mexican Civilization Essay
Last night I dreamed that I went back in time, as I walked around I saw people farming wheat and
barley as well as growing dates and melons. In the city there were artist making art using copper,
bronze, ivory and wood. I learned that they were the first to make cotton cloth. Traders were trading
goods with the traders from Egypt and Mesopotamia. I asked a woman in a red dress if she could tell
me a little about her land. She told me that this society was called the Harappa and Mohrenjo Daro
society. I asked how organized her government was. She said that the government was very strong and
organized. The cities were well planned right down to the water and sewer system. The people were an
educated and religious people. They had developed their own system of writing that was done on clay
tablets, statues and other remains. Her society worshipped a mother goddess. They were polytheists;
they believed the buffalo and bull was sacred. They treated their animals special. I saw some graves
that were filled with offerings like food and weapons. She told me that they thought the dead might
need these in an afterlife. I thanked her and she was on her way.
In my dream, I made my way to another group of ancient settlers. They were nomads. They traveled

The Garden By Andrew Corvel Poetry
The poet who marvelled the readers and critics alike in the last decade of the nineteenth century
through his exquisite handling of subject matter and stylistic devices is obviously Andrew
Marvell(1621 1678).Originally associated with the school of Donne ,that is , the metaphysical school
of poetry which focused on abstruse terminology, dramatic beginning, ratiocinative mode, colloquial
language, wit, pun, paradox, ambiguity and above all, the use of metaphysical conceit; his is a
veritable mosaic where he deals with varied and variegated themes. His poems like To His Coy
Mistress, The Coronet, Mourning, Last Instructions to a Painter, The Fair Singer, The Picture of Little
T.C, The Definition of Love, The Garden, The Mower s Song, An Horatian Ode Upon Cromwell s
Return from Ireland, On a Drop of Dew, Upon Appleton House, to My Lord Fairfax are unique in
matter as well as manner, theme as well as treatment, content as well as style. In his poems, Marvell
treated political, carpe diem, personal, religious and pastoral themes. His The Garden is obviously the

The Garden itself brings to its height the tradition of Renaissance garden poetry, at the same time

It is significant to note that garden theme is one of the recurring and preponderant themes in Marvell s
poetry. In different poems like The Nymph Complaining, Little T.C, Upon Appleton House Marvell
represents different gardens in different ways. Whereas in The Nymph Complaining the beautiful
garden is created to satisfy the demands of the creator¬¬¬¬¬¬ the heroine, in Upon Appleton House

Analysis Of The Movie White Liar By Miranda Lambert
Picking Up the Pieces Picking Up the Pieces is the film being produced to document my life. I have
never put much thought into how my life would be portrayed or even documented. However, as I sit
here thinking about what music I would use for the soundtrack, I start thinking about all of the things
that I have been through in my life. All of those hurdles that I had to climb over and the songs that
have so much meaning start to flow through my mind. There are many songs to choose from, but I
narrow them down to the top four that I feel set the mood of how I have picked up the pieces of my
life from a tragic divorce and moved on to now being a thriving non traditional college student
seeking to become a Hospitality Manager. The first song that I have chosen is White Liar by Miranda
Lambert because this song represents what I went through during my very tragic divorce. Lambert is
an American country music artist who co wrote this song with Natalie Hemby. The song was released
in August of 2009. The reason I chose this song is because the words remind me of what I went
through when I found out that my husband of six years had been cheating on me and how I felt.
Lambert sings, Hey white liar, the truth comes out a little at a time and it spreads just like a fire. My
husband had been cheating on me and the entire time, I sensed something was wrong, but he
continued to tell me that I was wrong. According to him, they were just friends. In reality, I too was
also a white liar

Literary Analysis Of Thomas Hardy s The Darkling Thrrush
Thomas Hardy s poem The Darkling Thrush presents a first person speaker, staring out onto the
unwelcoming frozen landscape, as he reflects on the living and un living, being on the hastened path
to death and decay. Considering his title, the use of the word Darkling , meaning becoming dark,
immediately, the reader is given a negative undertone. He explores the theme of death and decay of
the events of the 19th century, and the 19th century itself, The Century s corpse . Also, the use of a
first person narrative creates involvement and intensifies that feeling of isolation as I will explore later
in the essay, along with the techniques Hardy uses, and imagery he creates.
Hardy uses many techniques for the rhythm of his poem, some that work together and some that
disrupt the harmonious cadence that they create. The poem is written in an iambic meter, the pace is
preserved through as it has a regular iambic rhythm, alternating through trimeter and tetrameter on
each line. This rhythm effects the pace of the poem, making it slow and joyless, as it creates an
unsteady, eerie atmosphere by using the alternating meters, again enhancing the reader s imagery and
feelings of darkness and isolation. This is also maintained through the use of alternating rhyme at the
end of a line, gate [...] desolate as it presents a rhythm and almost relieves the tension that the speaker
creates for the reader. However, the iambic meter and the alternating rhyme is disrupted by the use of
imperfect rhyme throughout the poem, desolate [...] day this causes variation in tone and an
inharmonious feel, contrasting with the regular rhythm and rhyme, intensifying the eerie feel that the
descriptive language creates. Another technique Hardy uses that contributes to the tone and pace of the
poem, is enjambment, [...] broken lyres / And all [...] , the way Hardy uses this in his poem creates a
durable passage through time, it does this by slowing the pace of the poem down.
The theme of nature is explored through personification and symbolism, also the decaying element of
nature within the poem is illustrated through language of bereavement. Firstly, in the beginning stanza,
the personification through the capitalization of Frost and

take their place behind their respective podiums. Megyn Kelly reaches for the microphone and asks,
Mr. Trump, since the beginning of automated driving in 2025, nearly 5 million Americans in the
professional driving industry have lost their jobs. How will your administration help transition these

What Aspects Of Your Soul Were You Trying To Represent In...
1. What aspects of your soul were you trying to represent in your sculpture? There were a total of 3
aspects of my soul which I used as the inspiration for my sculpture; responsibility, creativity, and
perfectionist. To demonstrate responsibility, my sculpture has a supporting like figure on one side
which is situated to support the free flowing structure of the leaf like figure on the other side. It
resembles an open hand and which is there to protect the leaf structure from falling over before it

For one, its positioning across the leaf structure was effective at depicting it as a precaution. The leaf
like structure seems to be growing and moving with its free flowing layers, and so the hand seems to
be on the opposite side to prevent the layers from overgrowing and falling under their own weight.
The space between the two objects however indicates that the leaf structure hasn t fully grown, and so
the support is situated there before they reach that length. Secondly, the form of the hand is very thick
and its base extends outwards from the main base, giving it a strong and stable form which makes it
efficient as a support. To a certain degree, this represents the preparedness required for one to be
responsible. Finally, the monochromatic red violet with a darkly shaded base demonstrates the fixated
structure. The black represents the part where the structure is connected to the ground, which
effectively portrays it as a supportive structure. The colour, form and position of the structure portrays
responsibility as it is a precaution and supports the creative side of me without letting it overgrow and
become too drastic, which is one thing I believe was effective in my

Student Loan Programs
The beginning of a college education is an eventful and exciting chapter for America s youth.
Beginning college is also when responsibilities begin to kick in as well. Students must plan ahead how
they intend to finance their education during their time at college and after completing their academic
careers. Almost seventy percent of college students nationwide take out loans to help finance their
education. Like any other loan, student loans must be paid off in a timely manner to avoid hurting
personal credit for future investments. The government has various student loan programs to assist
students with not only paying for college, but also with paying off these loans after college. The most

It may feel like free money to the pockets when receiving the refund checks, but all of it needs to be
paid back at a point. This is a common mistake made by students during their college careers.
Managing finances when in school is a crucial part of building a credit history because student loans
tend to be the first type of credit for those in college. It is also the first type of real debt incurred by
many. Late loan payments seriously harm credit records and ruin a credit history for years. This is why
paying off these loans is the safest way to go when building a positive credit history. Late payments
that add up often pose as obstacles when taking out auto loans and mortgages as well. This is only fair,
because if a student fails to carry out the responsibility of paying back a student loan, then they are not
proven responsible when it comes to other types of credit either. (smartmoney.com) Late loan
payments indeed take a toll on an individual s credit history. When a loan payment has not been made
for two hundred seventy days after it was due, that student loan is considered to be in default. The
defaulted loan is turned over to a collection agency, and the government notifies every credit bureau.
This information remains on an individual s credit report for seven years. Not paying the defaulted
loan as soon as possible means having federal income tax refunds withheld and added to

Free Market Economies
Introduction Europe s past wasn t always peaceful as it is today and with friendly relations between
countries. For instance the country this report is about had wars with their neighbors the United

colonies all over the globe, because when these wars were raging the whole world was to be re

the world. They were the only known to man method of transporting goods, slaves and people. History
of France France was a pure monarchy for a vast period of its history as an established society of
people. During this period people were divided into classes, which was good for some people but for
the rest of the country it was devastating. This was the main reason for the French revolution which
took 10 years for the people to remove the monarchy regime, but a great man as Napoleon saw the
opportunity and took the power, but he wasn t like other dictators, he tried to spread all over Europe a
liberal movement with main goal equality for every person no matter what his family is doing for a
living. (1) Why is the family business mentioned? The reason for this is that before the revolution
classes were divided by their work. Because different classes received different treatment by the king
and therefore some were more pleased than others, this inequality had French people to have no

  • 2. Genetic Cluster Number Of Genetic Clusters 2.5 Number of genetic clusters To infer genetic cluster number (K) in our sample set, we used two Bayesian approaches based on the clustering method which differed in that they: a) incorporate or not a null allele model, and b) use a non spatial or spatial algorithm. We selected this approach because Bayesian models capture genetic population structure by describing the genetic variation in each population using a separate joint posterior probability distribution over loci. First, we used STRUCTURE v.2.3.3 (Falush et al., 2003; Pritchard et al., 2000), which does not incorporate a null allele model, but uses a non spatial model based on a clustering method and it is able to quantify the individual genome proportion from each inferred population. A previous run had been carried out to define what ancestry models (i.e. no admixture model and admixture model) and allele frequency models (i.e. correlated and uncorrelated allele frequency models) fit our dataset. All these previous runs were conducted with locality information prior to improving the detection of structure when this could be weak (Hubisz et al., 2009). Run parameters of previous simulations included five runs with 50,000 iterations following a burn in period of 5,000 iterations for K = 1 10 as number of tested clusters. Before choosing models to run our dataset we evaluated Evanno s index ΔK (Evanno et al., 2005), to identify whether different models yielded different K values, implemented in STRUCTURE HARVESTER ... • 3. The Atomic Weight Of The Middle North Sydney Girls High Preliminary Course Chemistry Assessment Task 1 Research Task Rachel Stock 11CH5 Question 1 Question 2 The first use of the triads was in 1817, when Johann Dobereiner observed that elements could be placed in groups of three based on their properties. When the three elements were ordered according to atomic weight, the smallest weight would have the least significant reaction or mildest property, whilst the heaviest would have the most significant or strongest property. Further, the atomic weight of the middle element would be almost exactly the average of the two other elements. These properties were considered too coincidental not to be of some significance. One of the first triads to be observed was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When ordered with atomic number there are only a few instances where the atomic masses do not ascend which would have resulted in the two elements being switched in the original order of elements when atomic weight was used. These errors are pairs where the second of the pair is placed first when ordered with atomic weight; three of which are argon and potassium, cobalt and nickel, tellurium and iodine. The Law of Triads began to direct chemists towards the patterns found in lists or tables of elements. Many chemists began exploring patterns but it wasn t until 1864 that the next step was made. John Newlands realised that when ordered by atomic weight a regular pattern of properties formed. He noted that elements seemed to fall into patterns of eight whereby every eighth element would have the same properties. This was not entirely true however as Newlands saw this pattern and was reminded of a musical scale s eight note repetition. Nevertheless, the recognition of this in fact deterred Newlands from making further inferences as he continued to attempt to force elements into this musical scale like format which was not entirely applicable. Furthermore, the noble gases had yet to be discovered when Newlands Law of Octaves was formed. This meant that the pattern didn t account for an extra element in the patterns of eight. As can be seen on the right, noble gases are not included and had they been, they would be placed in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Essay on Rabbit Proof Fence Rabbit Proof Fence in the context of Australian identity: In the introductory lecture our attention was focused on a number of core themes which run throughout the course. One such theme was the concept of a nation and the way in which cultural products of the nation shape our sense of identity. Rabbit Proof Fence is an important film to examine within this context as it is the first international film to examine the issue of Australia s Stolen Generation. The film brought the story of the Australian Stolen Generation to a wide audience, both nationally and internationally. Today I am going to consider what kind of impact the film had and also a number of important points concerning the film. The film is an adaptation of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The film runs through a simple, yet effective plot of abduction, incarceration, escape, pursuit and finally homecoming. The film removes all extraneous material for example the initial journey from Jigalong to the Moore River native settlement is condensed. Therefore it is evident that the film privileges narrative interpretation over historical accuracy. To what extent do Hollywood narrative conventions override the historical Aboriginal experience which is fore grounded in the book? The film combines documentary techniques with emotive scenes to encourage a certain response from the audience. The documentary footage acts to encourage the audience to see the film as one of truth and realism. The film is introduced by the living Molly who speaks in dialect and ends with documentary like footage of herself and Daisy walking over the land. These scenes attempt to frame the narrative as one of truth and place the narrative in context. Moreover, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Differences Of Marriage In Geoffrey Chaucer s The... In Geoffrey Chaucer s work The Canterbury Tales, The Franklin s Tale and The Merchant s Tale depict many differences on the characters and authors outlook on marriage. In both of Chaucer s tales, the manner in which marriage transpires between the two couples varies prominently. Additionally, the effort to control the wives in the tales is also conspicuously different. In Chaucer s two tales, the author depicts the differences in both women by seeing if they are faithful to the vows of their marriage. Throughout the Canterbury Tales, Chaucer demonstrates to the reader a true and ethical appeal by using the aspect of marriage. The ways in which marriage begins in Chaucer s two tales differs with each individual couple. For example, in The Franklin s Tale the righteous knight, Arviragus, marries his love, Dorigen, but only after honorably courting her for some time. A knight that loved and dide his pain to serve a lady in his beste wyse; and many a labour, many a greet empryse (line 730). Only after having received her entire heart and her full consent did he seek out her hand. Nonetheless, after their wedding he still continuously and passionately served her and continued to earn her undying love. Despite the noble deeds done in The Franklin s Tale , Chaucer did not bestow the Merchant s Tale characters with the same level of honor and righteousness. For instance, the character Januarie, in The Merchant s Tale rarely demonstrates any honorable qualities towards ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Persuasive Essay On Torture In History The use of brute force and psychological manipulation to obtain information from detainees is known as torture. Considered to be one of the most common interrogation methods, this barbaric craft has been practiced in different cultures throughout history. Ranging from physical assault to white torture, torture takes many forms. Although widely practiced, this illegal, immoral, and ineffective method has no bearing in America. Countless torture methods have been used throughout history. One especially prevalent form is white torture, this method is especially cruel as it preys on the mind of the detainee rather than the body. White torture embodies both emotional and psychological torture. In lieu of inflicting physical pain upon the individual, sensory deprivation and total isolation are used. The detainee is imprisoned in a room that is completely white. There are no windows and the meals given are completely white. This torture tactic is frequently employed by the Iranian government and the effects of this torture, while not physical, are lifelong. On the opposing end of the spectrum, an example of physical torture is waterboarding. Waterboarding is a form of torture in which water is poured over a cloth covering the face and breathing passages of an immobilized captive, causing the individual to experience the sensation of drowning. Torture is an extremely controversial topic in our society today. Foreign terror attacks from groups such Al Qaeda and ISIS have thrust ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Then, with a glass pipette, a solution of water and 1% propionic acid is added to the flakes and yeast to hydrate them. This will cause the flakes and yeast to turn blue, and the solution is added until it is a consistent bright blue color where no isolated flakes are visible (it is helpful to mash up the flakes and yeast). Once the necessary color is established, the vials need to sit for about eight to ten hours. If whenever, at any time during the experiment, the media cracks or has a faded color, the fly solution is to be added once more to rehydrate the media. After the media is made, a net is folded lengthwise first and then placed into the vial in a shape of a U so that flies will be able to pupate. In the short story A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, combines both supernatural and natural events in a confusing, unexpected but yet inspiring way that makes us wonder how we would respond if a supernatural event had happen in our front yard. From combining an ordinary day to rainy days and greedy community, with an amazing supernatural, an angel, who takes in cruelty, strengthen itself and flies away, Marquez successfully uses unique styles and creative tones to create a short story that would carry essentials of our daily routine in our lives and succeeds. From being locked up in a chicken coop and being poked as if he was in a zoo, he deals with the cruelty and doesn t fight back at all. He sits there and deals with it. This could be a sign of an angel s quality, dealing with such disturbing cruel treatment in a calm way. At the end of the story, as the angel deals with such cruelty, he is finally awarded with new feathers. I believe that the action of story matches the tone and setting. Therefore, in an ideal set up there would 4 social cases the upper, middle, working, and poor classes (Judge 2015) and these are the 4 that I will be using to distinguish the difference in how parents raise their children across social classes. One main influence that causes a polarization of social classes are parents economic resources and education level, thus influencing the jobs parents have and the availability they may have to invest in their child s life. However the key characteristics that influence the ways parent raise their children are how they organize their child s daily life, the use of language around their children, and through social interactions (Lareau 202). However the two main approaches across social class parents take in raising their child are natural growth and concerted cultivation. Concerted cultivation approach to parenting is when parents seek to actively enhance their children s talents, and opinions (Cherlin 2013). Each of these leagues were made up of six teams that played each other up until the Japan Series, as well as the All Star game. Despite the many athletes that Japan has, not very many of them went on to play in the Major League. One major factor that kept Japanese players from playing in the Major League during this time was World War II. The Japanese players felt that they shouldn t leave their country during that time of turmoil, so many of them turned down contracts to play in the majors. Another reason many of them stayed to play in Japan was the contracts that many of them had with the NPB. Revenge is a frighteningly vicious emotion, which causes people to act blindly and without reason. In Poe s, The Cask of Amontillado , Montresor enacts revenge for reasons unknown. Hamlet in contrast, has all the motive in the world to complete his task; yet he constantly hesitates. The text reveals that the need for revenge creates a stranglehold on the genuine emotions, thoughts, and actions of three characters: Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, Laertes; son of Polonius, and Fortinbras; Prince of Norway. In The Cask , the perspective we are given on the story is limited; which allows for an open interpretation of what his true motives for revenge are. As Baraban states Montresor elaborates a sophisticated philosophy of revenge: I must not only punish, but punish with impunity (48) presenting the reader with a vibrant view of what he intends to do. The question one begs is, for what reason? Most readers would finish this story and assert that mentally, Montresor is insane. As Baraban states, Poe s intriguing silence about the nature of the insult that made Montresor murder Fortunato has given rise to explanations of Montresor s deed through insanity. Richard M. Fletcher, for example, maintains that Montresor s actions are irrational and that therefore he is mad. (50) Montresor states at the opening of the story, you,who so well know the nature of my soul ( are words likely said on his death bed to his confessor; being that he committed this deed fifty years prior, it would make sense that he is finally coming clean. Generally, the statutory classification provided by Congress is presumptively valid, unless such a classification is considered suspect. When We Judge Another We Define Our Self Joel Barragan Macias Chon English 116 July 24, 2015 When We Judge Another We Define Our Self A family member once told me never judge a book by its cover. If you open the book and see what is inside instead of overlooking it, you might find it interesting after all. This quote by my family member can easily be tied to The Myth of the Latin Women: I just met a Girl Named Maria by Judith Ortiz Cofer, and Just walk on By: Black Men and Public Spaces by Brent Staples. Cofer, talks about how she was stereotyped for being a Latin woman in American culture. Then Staples, talks about how he was discriminated for being a tall, black man that worked as a journalist in a predominantly white field. Both of these authors, were being put in categories based on their appearance. People assumed they were a certain way because she was Hispanic and because he was African American. Modern society is quick to judge people based on their appearance; mainly on attributes of race and gender, eventually affecting the person s outlook on life. People can often be treated and judged in a less than an equal manner. Before they even get to know the true nature of a person, they are judged based on race. Additionally, a female may be overlooked for a certain job and the job is then given to a male counterpart, based solely on gender. • 19. The Book Of Alice B. Toklas By Gertrude Stein The Modernist writers were all about finding their own identity. There are those who were struggling to find their own because they were close to the modernists that expressed it. Through experimentation they were able to find an identity that they were comfortable with. Gertrude Stein found a voice when she wrote about her life from the point of view of her partner Alice B. Toklas. When it comes to writers talking about themselves they couldn t help but use the words and actions of their own characters, to create an idea of experimenting that they are unable to reveal about themselves or others that hey might have known. They are shadows of who they once were, but create a new identity under those experiments. The idea of being a shadow of someone else s identity helps shapes their own but, also the identity of the people that take on as they experiment with finding themselves . The Autobiography of Alice B. Toklas by Gertrude Stein is one of the most known works by the author. It is often seen as a simple read as compared to the rest of her works. Stein s works are often seen as experimental. The Autobiography of Alice B. • 21. Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Minister s Black Veil In Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Minister s Black Veil mystery plays a huge role when it comes to plot, and character development. At the end of this story the minister who is wearing the veil rhetorically asks, What but the mystery which it obscurely typifies has made this piece of crape so awful? (Hawthorne 1044). Hawthorne has built up this character so carefully and intensely to this point, to quite directly state that this veil on his face represents mystery. The minister also begs the question of, what else does it represent? Asking his congregation, who also persecuted him, to look deep in themselves and figure out the real reason for his apparel. The minister blatantly reveals that his veil typifies mystery in a sense where his congregation cannot keep themselves together, unless they know the absolute truth. Hawthorne uses this veil as a direct representation of mystery and self control, but he also uses it as a symbol of a divine controller, tying in spirituality and religion. Towards the beginning of the story the minister reveals himself looking different, as he wore an obvious black veil over his face. His audience hated the idea of his new look as they muttered amongst themselves, I don t like it, and Our parson has gone mad! (Hawthorne 1038). These two particular quotes obviously reveal the initial distaste for the veil, but it also shows that the congregation could not even control themselves, as they wondered why he wore this disgusting cover. The Laguna Fire resulted in impactful changes to fire suppression and fire ground tactics. In addition, the design of the five tanks allowed for quick and effective transitions. Due to its short loading time it allows for faster preparation for when a wildfire may occur. Which is a key factor when dealing with wildfires. Furthermore, The Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System was updated to better help the firefighters when transporting the tanks. The newly developed system which is Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System II redesigned the tanks. Instead of five huge tanks they changed it and made one ginormous tank. Referring back to the article titled, MAFFS II Making an Impact it mentions, The MAFFS II systems allow the MAFFS aircraft to be loaded at the same bases as the larger civilian air tankers due to the built in compressors used to pressurize their load of fire retardant to be forced out of the aircraft. this is another reason why the new Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System II is extremely effective and widely used. The Firefighter s do not have to stop at certain bases to have the tanks pressurized, because with the new development with the two compressors inside the aircrafts they can just pressurize the tanks there, and the 24 hour resource allows for better access to these military aircrafts to be used. John Keats, one of England s greatest poets, published several poems, including one of his most famous ones in 1819, Ode on A Grecian Urn (Keats 247). Keats was a renowned poet during the British Romantic period. Romantic literature focused on beauty and emotions. So, what is the significance of the scenes depicted on the mysterious urn? Is the urn simply a masterpiece of art with emphasis only on physical beauty? In the poem, Ode on A Grecian Urn , John Keats creates mysterious scenes on a Greek urn to contrast between everlasting art and human life. Keats contrasts both worlds through the urn s elaborate description, the theme of personal relationships, and the ultimate message of beauty, with significant relevance to modern times. The poems ambiguities begin with the speaker describing the urn. However, these ambiguities are not just intended by Keats to remain enigmatic, they are there to be connected like a puzzle, piece by piece. As the speaker, who is a mystery himself, describes the urn, it is evident that he is bewildered with a spark of curiosity, attempting to grasp the meaning of the scenes (Mishra 51). The speaker first states what he sees from a distance. Literary Analysis Of Thomas Hardy s The Darkling Thrrush Thomas Hardy s poem The Darkling Thrush presents a first person speaker, staring out onto the unwelcoming frozen landscape, as he reflects on the living and un living, being on the hastened path to death and decay. Considering his title, the use of the word Darkling , meaning becoming dark, immediately, the reader is given a negative undertone. He explores the theme of death and decay of the events of the 19th century, and the 19th century itself, The Century s corpse . Also, the use of a first person narrative creates involvement and intensifies that feeling of isolation as I will explore later in the essay, along with the techniques Hardy uses, and imagery he creates. Hardy uses many techniques for the rhythm of his poem, some that work together and some that disrupt the harmonious cadence that they create. The poem is written in an iambic meter, the pace is preserved through as it has a regular iambic rhythm, alternating through trimeter and tetrameter on each line. This rhythm effects the pace of the poem, making it slow and joyless, as it creates an unsteady, eerie atmosphere by using the alternating meters, again enhancing the reader s imagery and feelings of darkness and isolation. This is also maintained through the use of alternating rhyme at the end of a line, gate [...] desolate as it presents a rhythm and almost relieves the tension that the speaker creates for the reader. However, the iambic meter and the alternating rhyme is disrupted by the use of imperfect rhyme throughout the poem, desolate [...] day this causes variation in tone and an inharmonious feel, contrasting with the regular rhythm and rhyme, intensifying the eerie feel that the descriptive language creates. Another technique Hardy uses that contributes to the tone and pace of the poem, is enjambment, [...] broken lyres / And all [...] , the way Hardy uses this in his poem creates a durable passage through time, it does this by slowing the pace of the poem down. The theme of nature is explored through personification and symbolism, also the decaying element of nature within the poem is illustrated through language of bereavement. Megyn Kelly reaches for the microphone and asks, Mr. Trump, since the beginning of automated driving in 2025, nearly 5 million Americans in the professional driving industry have lost their jobs. How will your administration help transition these workers to new industries? Ok, back to 2016. To demonstrate responsibility, my sculpture has a supporting like figure on one side which is situated to support the free flowing structure of the leaf like figure on the other side. It resembles an open hand and which is there to protect the leaf structure from falling over before it actually does. In addition, the monochromatic colour scheme of red violet with the base being a very dark shade shows the hand structure as being rooted to the ground and very secure. For one, its positioning across the leaf structure was effective at depicting it as a precaution. The leaf like structure seems to be growing and moving with its free flowing layers, and so the hand seems to be on the opposite side to prevent the layers from overgrowing and falling under their own weight. The space between the two objects however indicates that the leaf structure hasn t fully grown, and so the support is situated there before they reach that length. Secondly, the form of the hand is very thick and its base extends outwards from the main base, giving it a strong and stable form which makes it efficient as a support. To a certain degree, this represents the preparedness required for one to be responsible. Finally, the monochromatic red violet with a darkly shaded base demonstrates the fixated structure. The black represents the part where the structure is connected to the ground, which effectively portrays it as a supportive structure. The colour, form and position of the structure portrays responsibility as it is a precaution and supports the creative side of me without letting it overgrow and become too drastic, which is one thing I believe was effective in my ...
