Legalization Of Same Sex Marriage Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of legalizing same-sex marriage can be both challenging and
thought-provoking. The complexity arises not only from the need to articulate arguments and
counterarguments but also from navigating the intricate web of legal, social, and cultural
perspectives that surround the issue. Crafting a well-informed and persuasive essay requires
thorough research to understand the historical context, legal frameworks, and societal attitudes
towards same-sex marriage.
Moreover, the writer must be sensitive to diverse viewpoints, acknowledging the varying beliefs
and cultural values that shape people's opinions on this matter. Balancing personal convictions
with the need for objectivity and fairness is another aspect that adds to the difficulty of the task.
Engaging in a respectful and inclusive discourse while presenting a compelling argument further
complicates the writing process.
Addressing the potential counterarguments, such as religious or traditional perspectives, requires
a nuanced approach that considers opposing viewpoints without dismissing them outright.
Striking a balance between emotional appeal and rational reasoning is crucial to create a well-
rounded and convincing essay.
In summary, writing an essay on the legalization of same-sex marriage demands a comprehensive
understanding of legal, social, and cultural aspects, along with the ability to navigate a spectrum
of opinions with sensitivity and respect. It is a challenging endeavor that requires thorough
research, thoughtful analysis, and effective communication skills to present a compelling case for
or against the topic.

Task 3 Protein Synthesis
Task 3: Protein Synthesis:
Protein biosynthesis is the biochemical process, in which proteins are synthesized
from simple amino acids within several steps with the aid of information stored
within the sequence of DNA. DNA is located within the nucleus of eukaryotic cells
contain sections known as genes which carry the genetic code required in order to
manufacture proteins. During the process of protein synthesis mRNA or as it is also
known messenger RNA is able to construct a complementary strand with the aid of
the strands either side of the DNA structure. Through doing this mRNA now holds a
copy of the genetic instructions required in order to produce protein molecules.
Throughout the DNA remains within the nucleus with mRNA on the other
Colin Kaepernick s Argument Analysis
According to Colin Kaepernick, There are bodies in the street and people getting
paid leave and getting away with murder (qtd. in Florio). In other words, police are
not being held accountable for the many killings of innocent people. The police
are being cruel; police are malicious people. Therefore, Kaepernick is going to
protest until change come. This situation is vested to Kaepernick s belief and
values. People should be able to protest the pledge to show respect, to allow the
freedom of religion and speech, and to not impose American ideals on others. First,
people show respect by protesting the flag. It is important to Colin Kaepernick to
protest the flag because police killings of African Americans have come under
widespread scrutiny (qtd. in Lutz). Many African American families are going through

Always pledging to the flag runs the risk of turning a central statement of
patriotism into a chore (qtd. in Longman). Because the pledge is recited at every
event, the pledge it is starting to lose it s meaning. The purpose of the pledge was
to protect our freedom and showed that freedom was valued. According to Longman,
Two of UConn s players are German...but both said they were comfortable standing
on the court as their teammates recited the oath. It is true that some foreigners may
not having a problem with standing for the pledge, however, they may feel a sense
rejection. Players that are not from America may feel uncomfortable with saying I
pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for
which it stands. Can you really blame them? In another situation official said, Our

Changes in Farming Post Civil War Essay
Changes in Farming: Contributing factors in farming changes post Civil War
After the Civil War there were many factors that contributed the changes that occurred
in farming in America. Among them was the drive for the South to renew and regain
what had been lost due to the war. Leaders saw it as a time to diversify and turn
towards industrialization. The Industrial revolution was underway and with it
brought many new inventions that would lead to growth in the farming industry. The
wide open space between the East and the West called The Frontier was open for
homesteading. New immigrants with their farming knowledge and ability were
flooding the East and West gates of the U.S. This was a time in American history
when Americans ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After the slaves were freed in 1863, the South had to make changes to supply labor
for the farming. Many shady practices by the white man occurred because of this.
Sharecropping and crop liens were developed to keep the black man somewhat under
their control. Since freed slaves had no money and no place to live, land holders
would allow a tenant to live on their property and worked the land in exchange for a
share of the crop produced, also known as sharecropping. The crop lien system was a
developed to allow farmers to receive goods such as food, supplies, and seeds to be
paid for after the crop was produced. This kept the black man and poor white farmers
in a constant form of debt.
Cotton still played a big part in the growth of farming in the south. There was a
high demand for textiles and cotton mills increased production of cotton bales up
to 1,479,000 bales per year. While these changes were occurring in the South,
many changes in farming were also taking place in other parts of the nation. The
government wanted to encourage settlement in the vast areas of the country not
yet populated. The Homestead Act helped shape the western landscape. This act
allowed farmers to claim up to 160 acres of land. Farmers would stake a claim to a
parcel of land and by living on it for five years would be free and clear to take title of
the land. Or the farmer could buy
The Cost Of Attending College
In today s society, multitudes of our high school graduates are being pushed and
excessively encouraged to attend college. Attending these colleges has negatively
affected many college graduates, such as providing attendees debt and wasted
resources on attaining a college degree. However, the pros considerably outweigh the
cons on the worth of a collegedegree. College is worth the cost because it gives
graduates ample opportunity and success, larger wages than that of non college
graduates, and gives graduates life skills that will stupendously bene/fit them not
only in the work force, but also later in life.

Attending college introduces you into a whole different perspective of life. College
provides you an opportunity to have a glimpse of how well you can perform and live
on your own. Yes, you still need to study, achieve the grades to stay in college, and
does expand your knowledge, but the social skill learned by having to meet with the
professor, or having to acquire new friends, or how to manage your time wisely help
an individual prepared for the jobs you will be working on after college. There are a
few reasons that may compel people question if college is worth it, like how will I
pay off my student debt? or I can still find a job that pays just as well. These
reasons are wrong and here s why. College graduates are paid on average $21.77 for
men and $18.43 for women (chart). The minimum wage for non college graduates is
$7.25. That is about a third of what a college education can earn for you. Another
statistic is that college graduates gain almost $20,000 more a year than non college
graduates. The median gap in annual earnings between a high school and college
graduate as reported by the U.S Census Bureau in 2010: $19,550 (Is College Worth
It). With the extra $20,000, college graduates can pay off their college debt, which
is on average around $30,000. The extra $20,000 made can help pay the debt off and
can help you in the long run if you choose to save
Similarities Between Matthew And The Gospel Of John
The Gospels are essential texts of the Christian faith as they chronical the life of
Jesus Christ. And yet they are surrounded by controversies because they seem to
conflict each other. But, in the case of the Gospel of Matthew and the Gospel of
John, this concern is truly misplaced. Looking closer at the texts shows that they are
not entirely dissimilar. Both texts are based in tradition and their relation to Jesus. The
texts come from the same founding idea but the difference lies in their uses of
tradition to convey different messages to the audience. The Gospelof Matthew uses
tradition to provide legitimacy to Jesus and paint him as a continuation of tradition,
whereas the Gospel of John alludes to traditional ideas to show Jesus as a... Show

Similar to Matthew, John makes this obvious from the opening verse of the gospel
in which he rewrites the creation myth from the beginning of Genesis. Where
Genesis states that In the beginning God created earth (Genesis 1:1), the Gospel of
John changes the text to say that in the beginning the was the Word, and the Word
was with God, and the Word was God (John 1:1). There is no longer just God, there
is the Word, or Jesus, and the reader is forced to now think about the world in this
way. Instead of bridging the gap between the Hebrew Bible and Jesus, John
chooses to changing the words and thus change the way the faith is thought about.
John rewrites tradition through Jesus and attempts to create a change in the way
the faith works. During the crucifixion of Jesus, John continues to allude to the
Jewish tradition with subtle changes to past ideas. When on the cross, a thirsty
Jesus is given a drink from a sponge full of vinegar on a hyssop (John 19:29). The
reed of hyssop, though it could not have actually held a sponge, it s meant to
remind the audience of the tradition of using hyssop to spread blood on your door
during Passover. And after his death, John refers to the fulfillment of prophecy in
19:36, where scripture said that not a bone of him shall be broken. Subsequently,
Jesus is pierced by the spear of a soldier and there came out blood and water (John
19:34). All of these examples allude to the tradition of Passover. These references,
however, were originally about the sacrificial lamb to be slaughtered for use on the
sacred holiday. John takes this traditional idea and changes it, using the idea in
reference to Jesus. Both the cleansing blood and water that fall from Jesus and the
bones that are not be broken are meant to liken Jesus to the sacrificial lamb that saves
the Jews. John leads the audience to believe that it is no

The Whig Interpretation Of History Essay
History may be examined and interpreted in many different ways. This is because
there is little evidence that had survived to go by in which historians have to use to
study the past. Evidence, written and made by the historical people themselves,
include but are not limited to written documents, such as books and letters, and
material culture, as in art and architecture. Now, because the original authors or
artists are not alive to tell the story, historians have to examine the evidence left
behind to make an educated judgment on what had really happened in the past. This
judgment or argument is always incomplete and up for revision as more evidence is
found as time passes by. Although many conclusions can be generated from one
piece of evidence, arguments can be biased, leading to different, possibly incorrect,
views of history. In his essay, The Whig Interpretation of History, Herbert Butterfield
elaborates on the matter that many historians tend to write on the behalf on a
Protestant or Whig point of view when researching about history. The argument he
has provided in his essay states that the whig interpretation of history relates to the act
of abstracting [ideas and events] from their historical context and judging them apart
from their context estimating them and organizing the historical story by a system of
direct reference to the present (Butterfield 30). To Butterfield, studying the past in the
eyes of the present is one of the biggest errors a historian
Victim Victimization Research Paper
Strangely, some individuals are slightly delusional, the feel if they change their
residence from a rural area they will get away from all crime totally, realistically
speaking, there is no way of escaping all crime. Crime is all over, it s even in the
White House. Nowhere in the US is a community crimefree. The crime rates are
decreasing which is encouraging but we all must pull together as a whole to
minimize all crime.
Now, we have covered our key concepts let s explore how victims can be
compensated for being victimized of a crime weather it is non violent in nature or a
violent crime. When an individual falls prey to victimization and would like to be
compensated, he or she has process that would need to follow and complete in a ...

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Frequency Modulation
ANGLE MODULATION
Chapter Objectives
This chapter will help you to:
1.Define and explain the processes of frequency modulation (FM) and phase
modulation (PM) and state their differences.
2.Calculate the modulation index given the maximum deviation and maximum
modulating frequency, determine the significant number of sidebands in an FM
signal, and calculate the bandwidth of an FM signal.
3.Define pre emphasis and de emphasis, state their benefits, and show how they are
accomplished.
4.Name the advantages and disadvantages of FM and PM compared to AM.
Angle modulation is a technique in which the angle of the carrier wave is varied
according to the instantaneous amplitude of the modulating signal. There are two
types of angle modulation.

2.Phase Modulation
Frequency Modulation: (Definition Introduction)
FM is a technique in which the instantaneous frequency of the carrier wave is varied
according to the instantaneous amplitude of the modulating signal. In other words if
the amplitude of the modulating signal increases, then there will be a corresponding

As can be seen in Figure 3.1 (a) the modulating signal increases from its negative
peak value during this quarter, and at time t3 it becomes zero. This sinusoidal
increase in the amplitude of the modulating signal is mapped on to the carrier signal
by increasing its frequency. At time T3, the amplitude of the modulating signal is
zero and hence there will not be any deviation in the carrier frequency from its
original value. Thus between time T2 and T3, the frequency of the modulated carrier
increases from its minimum value attained at time t2. This is shown in Figure 3.l(c)
by inserting more cycles during quarter III as compared to the number of cycles that
occurred during the quarter
Essay about Organizational Management
I. Introduction The organizational life cycle (OLC) is a model which proposes that
over the course of time, business firms move through a fairly predictable sequence
of developmental stages. This model, which has been a subject of considerable
study over the years, is linked to the study of organizational growth and development.
It is based on a biological metaphor that business firms resemble living organisms
because they demonstrate a regular pattern of developmental process. Marketing
experts acknowledge the existence of product market life cycles. It seems reasonable
to conclude that organizations also have life cycles. This paper examines the life
cycle using four fundamental organizational life cycles: start up, growth,... Show

This paper will use four fundamental organizational life cycles: start up, growth,
maturity, and decline. Phase 1: Start Up In the start up cycle an organization will
typically have substantial limitations. For example, organizations during this phase
will often have limited operational budgets, infrastructure and manpower. The internal
structure will be comprised of a few members, if not just the founder in some cases.
This non bureaucratic environment contributes to other challenges which include:
highly controlled decisions and information, as well as placing the overall ownership
in the hands of one or few individuals. The decision making process is placed in the
hands of the one(s) who are focused on the development and existence of the
organization (Lester, Parnell Carraher, 2003). During this phase the organization will
attempt to secure a competitive place in the marketplace through the use of long
hours, informal structure and information, and centralization. Other challenges deal
with the organization s focus on production and quality while operating with limited
resources (Beverland Lockshin, 2001). These are just a few challenges management
must consider during the start up cycle. Nonetheless, managers must work hard
toward the implementation of business strategies which will
The Music during the Hippie Movement
The Music during the Hippie Movement Background The hippie movements of the
sixties were driven by a plethora of factors. There were many new technologies that
were being introduced in this period, a war against Communism around the globe,
internal struggles against several types of injustices, a growing drug culture, and
several other important developments. To say the least, it was a volatile period in
American history and many sub cultures were actively seeking to carve out new
paths that were starkly different than the traditional norms. These generations who
rejected traditional culture helped carve out a new trajectory for the United States
and the movements influences can still be felt to this day. It is believed that the
Hippie movement began in San Francisco, California but it quickly spread
throughout the United States and Canada as well as in Europe and other parts of
the world. The individuals involved in the hippie movement were from a wide range
of different backgrounds. Many of them parted with their families and the places that
they were raised to follow their own paths. Many of these individuals experimented
with LSD and other drugs such as marijuana. Of all the contributions that this counter
culture made to the United States, the music produced during this period was
arguably the most influential. Musical icons such as Jimi Hendrix and Bob Dylan
made their claim to fame in the 1960s and 1970s. This paper will consider three

Appreciation and Value for Life in Richard Wilbur s Poem...
In humanity, one chooses to spend the most amount of time doing what they love
in order to result in a satisfying and happily lived existence. Richard Wilbur
expresses his appreciation and value of life throughout the poem, A Late Aubade .
This poem is influenced and based off of Wilbur s strong relationship with his
devoted wife. It emphasizes throughout detailed imagery how one must enjoy the
moments they have and can share with their loved one. The existence of an
individual is not about wasting time by being out and completing unnecessary jobs,
it s about spending time doing what one loves to do. Wilbur is convincing his wife
to not go about on her womanly daily activities; he wants her to stay and to take
advantage of the few valuable moments life offers for them to be together.
Throughout A Late Aubade , Wilbur stresses by applying descriptive language that in
life, one must not waste any precious time and should rather focus on what they are
passionate about.
Richard Wilbur was born in New York City on March 1rst in 1921. He contained a
strong literary background as he had come from a family of several journalists.
Wilbur s father was a painter and as he recorded experiences of life through his
paintings, Wilbur became inspired to do this through poetry. As he came from a
Christian religious background, this was a great influence to him as he alludes to
many Christian references throughout his works. He and his middle class family had
moved to North Caldwell,

As invention of technology made life much easier to travel, everyone seems to be
moving away from home. People are moving from place to place, from the rural or
countryside to the urban and the cities. However, life in city are often depressing,
hard and chaotic. It seem to be a place where rest does not seem to exist but is a
constant movement of people and object. The streets are occupied by the poor, the
homeless, and the screaming voices of desperate people making surviving seem
impossible. There, everyone suffered from the nostalgia of their life and childhood
days in the countryside, yearning for a better, peaceful and quiet life. The country

Writing A Writing An Essay
Writing an essay has always been a difficult and tedious task in my opinion. The
writing process I followed when creating the original assignment consisted of
research, a rough draft, a small amount of editing, and a final draft. Researching
the topic was the first step I took in writing my paper. I searched for credible and
useful information that would have a positive effect on my essay. After gathering
my information, I worked to create an outline that would assist in the organization
and structure of my essay. I then used my outline to begin a rough draft by
inserting research, as well as my own thoughts and ideas. After editing and revising
my essay, I ended with a final draft. The editing done to the paper was basic and done
solely by myself. I did not use any resources such as the writingcenter. Along with
this, peer reviews were not helpful as my group did not strive to make any
meaningful corrections or provide any constructive criticism. Because I had little
corrections the amount of editing or revising done was limited. Throughout the
duration of this class, the process in which I write an essay has changed.
Overall, the revision process for the new and improved essay was a great deal
different than the first essay. To decide what information I wanted left alone and what
information I should take out, I went through my original assignment and read the
comments made by my instructor. The comments helped me indicate which pieces of
the essay were well written

disharmony. After 8 years one sibling, Antonio Luis Ferre bought his father dying

influential newspaper in Puerto Rice. After 2 ВЅ years into it, El Nuevo Dia had

Since Antonio was so committed in orderly transferring the power to the next
generations, his next priority was to make sure the next generation paid attention the
details. Antonio felt that the newspaper business lived and died by those details and
by its reputation for responsible citizenship and journalistic independence. In order
this to succeed Antonio presented himself as a role model, he believed this was the
best way to lead by example to show his work ethics, compassion and love towards
his work and to others. To ensure the continuation of the spirit of enterprise and Ferre
Media Group s history of innovation, Antonio should welcome other ideas and values.
So, having the family meetings helped tremendously build new ideas and encourage
individual aspirations. Antonio said he wanted these meetings to help stop conflicts
between the siblings and built strong relationships with one another. Antonio wanted
the family to express and listen to other opinions and understand the different
perspectives because without it, to him, it was consider a competition. Family unity
was the utmost priority and with much communication, listening and compromising,
trust was built. And so in collaboration with fourth generation members to continue to
grow the family business Antonio helped launch the new paper Primera Hora in 1998

Post Revisionist Approach To The Cause Of The Cold War
The historian who wrote this extract kept a post revisionist approach to reach a
judgement for who caused the Cold War in his beginning paragraph . Post revisionist
historians blames neither side but instead blames the foundation of mutual
misunderstanding which was always there. This idea was first introduced by the
leading post revisionist historian John Lewis Gaddis during the late 1900s. There are
few reasons why I concluded that the writer kept post revisionist approach.
First of all , in his beginning he stated that the civil war was the product not of a
decision but of a dilemma . This is where his main idea begins which is that Cold War
was not something the opposite powers wanted but instead it was something
inevitable due to the misunderstandings . Each side not deemed to trust each other
but saw one s defensive measures as a threat . He stated that Russians concluded
that the west was resuming its old course of capitalist encirclement this shows that
each sides were already aware of the possible upcoming misconceptions as well as
the clash of different ideologies( which is shown as the foundation if anti soviet
regimes). So far it was apparent that the 2 powers would want to keep their security
after the WW2 , but their security actions misfortunately created discomfort and
suspicion for each other . Writer suggests that at this circumstance the only way over
this was to win over each other and that s what happened . ... Show more content on

He triggers that even though the both were to blame for the cause , one side has to
put more weight than other because at this rate Cold War was manageable and could
be avoided. So in his upcoming paragraphs he surfaces more reasons as follows

and slaves. With his army, he plans to conquer the lands North of Italy. Julius and
his army went to attack the Helvetians and was victorious. The tribe was being
pushed out of their homeland was into Gaul. Caesar quickly defeated the tribe. A
large army of Germans tried to cross the border and tried to enter Gaul. The Germans
wanted Gaul to become part of their land. But Julius Caesar wasn t going to put up
with this. He forced his men upon them and almost slaughtered Germany s whole
army. A year later, Caesar lead his army to north to fight the Nervii. The tribe was
preparing to right the Romans. The tribe came in and invaded Gaul. After a long
and hard battle between the two, Caesar s army defeat the Nerviis. In 55 BC, Julius
fought again with Germany and started war with Britain. He was victorious with
both of his battles. Later on, the Gallic army struck Caesar and his army suffered a
great defeat. Julius wasn t prepared and the Gauls invaded at the right time. The
Gauls attacked at night and won the battle back. They kept fighting back and forth
and the Gallic finally surrendered. Caesar had finally won the battle of
Manners Changed Manners
How Manners Have Changed Over Time
As Americans, we often talk about the different changes that are taking place in our
country and society. One of those changes is manners, when I was growing up, it was
very important to have manners. This was the only acceptable behavior by adults,
and parents would often say, practicing manners outside of home was a representation
of them which made me mannerism When a person sees a child with manners, that
child automatic shows their parent s teaching. I believe, due to the rise of
technology, parent s avoiding teaching their children proper manners and the lack of
social skills, the use of proper etiquette and manners is progressively fading away.
Therefore, with the rise of technology, people have adjusted manners as times have
changed. Particularly in America, with all the use of the different electronics devices
such as: smart phones, smart watches, laptops, computer devices, and etc., have
almost obstruct the way we once view proper etiquette and manners. Proper etiquette
like dinner table is one of those manners that have taken its turn and are almost
nonexistent, due to the rise of technology. Family once had ambitious standards when
it came to sitting around the dinner table each night with their family. This was a time
each family valued and shared the important of dinner table manners to their children
as a family traditional.
However, technology is a contributor in this change that family once

How Does Greek Influence Modern English Language
have you ever read an older piece of text and noticed anything different? such as the
way the language was spoken/written. The reason our language differs from then is
because of the influence of other languages around the English language its self. This

English has had many influences but the one that most find important is that a Greek

Another rare but interesting remnant of French influence is in the word order of

Abolition And James Russell Lowell
Abolition and James Russell Lowell
The Declaration of Independence gave us the famous words: we hold these truths to
be self evident, that all men are created equal. James Russell Lowell was a staunch
believer that this famous phrase referred to all men, including slaves. Lowell held the
opinion that it was the inborn right of all men to be free and that God created all
human beings with the same natural rights. The poems The Present Crisis, On the
Capture of Fugitive Slaves Near Washington, and Ode Recited At the Harvard
Commemoration combined moral and religious beliefs and arguments to make a
political statement about the abolition of slavery.
The Present Crisis was written by James Russell Lowell in 1844 to the discuss the
crisis sweeping the nation at that time slavery. In this poem, Lowell explains some of
the justifications for the practice of slavery, which he considered to be utterly
incorrect. In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By writing this poem, the author hopes to clearly state that all men are equal and
that slavery is an affront to God. Ultimately his goal is that those reading this poem
will be inspired to abolish slavery. He makes it clear that all people are equal in the
eyes of God, or in Lowell s words, God works for all (Lowell 82). Lowell believed
that America was no longer using morality as its guide, but instead was being
guided by poorly concealed self interest. According to a critic of Lowell s, He
believed that America had lost sight of the common good. Increasingly divided into
high and low, the populace seemed, to his mind, no longer willing to distinguish
individual self interest from civic virtue (Bell 131). As a result of the strong
sentiments the author displays in this poem, the reader might feel repulsed at those
who put themselves and what they perceive to be best for their country above

For many years, many dreamed of the first female president and Clinton may achieve
that dream. The US ranks 97th in the world for percentage of women in government

The Difference Between Sociology And Social Anthropology
Sociology is the study of society, it uses its methods in systematic way, and are
usually empirical. Since it is the study of scientific society, human social life, more
than aggregate of individuals. In order to understand any issue related to sociology
such as race, gender, caste, culture and marriage etc. We need to understand its three
main perspectives, functionalist perspective, conflict theory and symbolic
interactionism. Functionalist Perspective is all about progress in the society through
harmony, because society has a system which is interconnected Therefore, we need to

They both are very closely linked to each other, related to each other and dependent
on each other. In order to understand the relationship between both the disciplines we
have to analyse the inter relationship and mutual dependency. By inter relationship
and mutual dependency we mean some sociological terms or theories cannot be
understood without psychology and some psychological terms or theories cannot be
understood without sociology. Sociology deals with social phenomena, it is also
known for collective behaviour. It basically studies how humans interact or behave
when they are in groups, institutions etc. However, psychology deals with human
mind or how people interact at times. Psychology is more analysing on attitudes,
emotions, perception, process of learning and it values individuals and also deals
with the process of personality formation in society. Social Anthropologists like
Radcliffe Brown thinks or argues that sociology and psychology has no relation
because sociology is study social system while psychology is study of mental
system, so they both have no connection. Psychologists like Freud and others have
enhanced sociology in many aspects. They expressed that the whole social problems

Attendance and operating income in France were less than anticipated and a major
restructuring of the Euro Disney operating company was affected in 1994. Cultural
challenges, as well as a European recession in the early 1990s, resulted in less than
expected success of the park and its related hotels and facilities. Renamed
Disneyland Paris early in 1994, and with enhanced performance, the Disney
European experience finally began to pay off for this facility, which, by the late
1990s, was the largest theme park in Western Europe!
With these two, quite different, experiences in operating a large theme park and
resort facility outside of the continental United States, the Eisner management team
was ready to move into China. Two locations were in the running early in 1999,
representing quite different operating and financial strategies and structures. Either
Hong Kong or Shanghai would likely be the site of the next Disney theme park. This
was the challenge faced by the Disney management team, with a target decision date
of June 1999.
2. How do cultural variables influence the location choice of theme parks around the

Cultural obstacles influence the location of new theme parks in Asia. One is finding
the right location. Often, more important than content is whether a venue is located
in a metropolis, whether it is easily accessible by public transportation. However, in
cultural perspective, there is an additional threat of
The Causes And Impacts Of The Avignon Papacy
Even before the Middle Ages, there had always been tension between the
government in the Holy Roman Empire and the Catholic Church. This tension had
built over years and years of each trying to become top dog, and be the one true
power within the empire. However, during this time national monarchies began to
show up, such as England and France. These monarchies outside the empire, were out
of its control began to gain their own power. With their newfound power, came even
more conflict with the Church. One of the biggest conflicts was between the popein
the Empire and the King of France. These conflicts eventually led to the period of
time known as the Avignon Papacy, which lasted about seventy years. The Avignon
Papacy was the time during which the pope was moved from Rome to Avignon, just
across the river from France. This marked a huge change within the empire, and had
several important impacts. These impacts include a loss in Church prestige, the loss
of the Roman identity of the Church, as well as a loss of faith in the Church by the
people within the empire. The conflict between the Church and the French Monarchy
was centered around their desire for control. More specifically, it stemmed from Pope
Boniface VIII believing that secular governments should not be able to tax the clergy,
or Church revenues without consent from the pope. This matter was not taken lightly,
and the pope issued a Papal Bull, the Clericis Laicos making it clear to the
surrounding monarchies,
Burger King Case Analysis
The management situation here is that Burger King is attempting market
development by expanding into Japan. However, they must first understand many
aspects that influence the Japanese s market. The aspect of Japan economic
environment that burger king must understand is that Japan was the third largest
economy in the world, however, know they are struggling to escape deflation and
that in turn is lowering living standards according to the New York times article title
Why Japan s Economy Posted Surprisingly Strong Growth . This aspect in the
economy will force Japanese consumer to demand more value from the product for
their yen for them to be satisfied. With declining living standards and deflation,
Japanese consumers do not have much disposable money and therefore would make it
difficult for Burger Kingto give them a good reason to go spend it at BK for a
Whopperinstead of a cheap local burger. The political aspect that they must be
aware of is that burger king collaborating with Japan Tobacco which is partly owned
by the ministry of finance allows them to also be a government partner. This is
advantages in that the government will be supporting them financially. however,
since they have relaxed restrictions on gasoline sales then it shows that Japan will
likely be an even better market in a few more years. The cultural aspect that they
must understand is that Japanese youth does like many American styles and are
aware of the Hollywood sensations. This aspect of culture
The Four Main Types Of Radiological And Nuclear
Terrorism
Describe the four main types of radiological and nuclear terrorism (25 points). The
four main types of radiological and nuclear terrorism are Chemical, Biological,
Radiological and nuclear (CBRN) attacks. These types of attacks can have deadly
consequences and significantly impact a country if an attack is carried out. Not
only can causality rates be high, but there can also be significant economic
consequences as well. Chemical attacks involve the use of chemical agents that are
man made gases, liquids, or powders that can have incapacitating or lethal effects on
humans. Most chemical weapons fall into five broad categories: blister, nerve,
choking, blood, and incapacitating (Forest Howard, 2013). Chemical agents will
vary in their degree of potency and volatility. Depending on how volatile or potent
the agent is, the stronger the effects of agent will be on humans. Biological weapon
attacks involve the intentional release of a pathogen or bio toxin against humans,
animals, or plants (Forest Howard, 2013, pg. 113). Similar to chemical attacks,
biological attacks can cause, death, illness, and societal disruption. Additionally, these
attacks can cause widespread economic damage by poisoning agriculture crops and
livestock. Biological attacks can be carried out by dispersing the pathogen through
aerosol mechanisms, food and water supplies, and infected animals. A radiological
attack is the intentional spreading of radioactive material with the intent to do
The Link Between Poverty And Diabetes
According to the American Diabetes Association, more Americans die each year
from diabetes than from AIDS and breast cancer combined. As a result, researchers
have extensively studied the causes, treatments, and interventions for diabetes.
Despite efforts to ameliorate its effects, diabetes remains a prevalent danger in
society. In 2014, 7% of U.S. adults were living with diagnosed diabetes (Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention [CDC], 2016). In Louisiana that number was even
higher 10.4% of adults have been diagnosed with diabetes. Breaking it down by age
group, however, in Louisiana 3% of people aged 18 and 44 have been diagnosed, and
15.2% of people 45 64. (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC], 2015a).
Several studies have predicted future rates of diabetes both in the United Statesand
worldwide nearly all of these studies reached a similar conclusion: rates of diabetes
will continue to rise (Boyle et al., 2001).
Many studies have examined the link between poverty and diabetes. The CDC
(2015b) have identified the following as primary factors that lead an individual to
have an increased risk of developing diabetes: being overweight or obese; having a
parent or sibling with diabetes; having African American, American Indian, Asian
American, Pacific Islander, or Hispanic American/Latino heritage; having a history of
gestational diabetes; having blood pressure measuring 140/90 or higher; abnormal
cholesterol; and being physically inactive.

Why Do Australia Celebrate Easter Sun Day
Easter celebrates the promise of life in the face of death. It is a time to reflect on
suffering, injustice, hardship, peace and forgiveness . Christians in Australia
celebrate Easter as the time where Jesus was crucified and then resurrected 2 days
after, however non Christians celebrate Easter with family and friends in many
different secular ways. The two main days for all Australians are Good friday and
Easter sunday. When Jesusdied on the cross, his body was put in a tomb sealed by a
large stone. The Gospel says that on Easter sunday Jesus friend Mary went to the
tomb and discovered the stone had been moved and Jesus body was gone. Christians
believe Jesus Resurrection means that they too, can receive new life after death.

The first part of Easter is Lent, a period of about 40 days before Easter Sunday that
begins on Ash wednesday. During Lent, Christians prepare for Easter. They
consider it as a time for penance, a time to show sorrow for sins and to seek
forgiveness. 2 One common form of penance is fasting, which limits the kinds or
amounts of foods eaten. Holy Week is the final week of Lent which recalls the
events before Jesus s death and resurrection. Palm Sunday is the first day of Holy
Week that celebrates the story of Jesus triumphant entry into Jerusalem .2 Maundy
Thursday, the day before Good Friday, remembers Jesus s last meal and his
imprisonment. On this day Jesus went to pray in the garden of Gethsemane, when
his friend Judas betrayed him and arrived with a group of men with swords who
had been sent by the priests to arrest Jesus. Jesus was then questioned by the
council and it was decided he would be crucified. Holy Saturday is essentially a
day of solemn vigil .1 The primary activity of the day comes at nightfall as the
observance of Jesus Resurrection approaches. Easter Sunday is followed by a 50
day period ending on Pentecost, a Jewish festival for Christians to commemorate the
descent of the Holy Spirit on Jesus Christ s disciples on the seventh Sunday after

The Physics Of Chemical Kinetics
Investigations into the mechanics of chemical kinetics can reveal invaluable
information relating to the rates of reaction. There are numerable applications of
reaction rates, knowledge in this area is pivotal for industrial, commercial and
research sectors. Thus, allowing them the ability to manipulate a variety of factors of
chemical reactions with the use of reaction rates. In the scope of the kinetics of clock
reactions, there is a range of information that can be obtained about reaction rates
(Shakhashiri, 1992).
A clock reaction is characterised by an abrupt colour change following an established
time lag (Lente et al, 2007). The induction period in a clock reaction is a result of low
concentrations of the clock chemical (i.e. the chemical that enables the final
reaction). The induction period ends after the total consumption of a limiting reagent,
which initiates a short increase in the rate of product formation, resulting in a visible
colour change (Schmitz, 2010)(Lente et al, 2007). The reaction rate of clock reactions
is subject to factors including temperature, concentration, catalysis and inhibition.
These factors can be manipulated, thus changing the length of the induction period in
a clock like manner (Shakhashiri, 1992).
Changes in the rate of reaction can be described in terms of chemical equilibrium.
Chemical equilibrium is a state in which the forward and reverse reactions take place
at the same rate (Wilbraham et al, 2002). The relative

phone to automobiles. Cars could be equipped with devices that linked to the
satellite Global Positioning System that could provide driving directions as well as
local information as one drove through an area, and cell phones could be tracked to
their exact locations.
Jack s vision of a geographically enabled world was coming true, except that it was
happening with technologies and companies that were unrelated to ESRI or even
GIS. Many of these companies and technologies were not around in 1969, when
Jack and Laura first started ESRI. Will this visionary pioneer of geographic
information systems be a pioneer in this geographically enabled world that they
have championed for four decades? What role will ESRI and GIS play in this new
era? What resources and capabilities does ESRI have and how should it deploy them
in order to create its position in this changing world? Will it continue to be the
number one player in the market? How, if at all, should ESRI be responding to the
new technologies and companies that are redefining the market? What are the

Throughout the 20th century there were many influential pieces of literature that
would not only tell a story or teach a lesson, but also let the reader into the author s
world. Allowing the reader to view both the positives and negatives in an author.
Ernest Hemingway was one of these influential authors. Suffering through most of his
life due to a disturbingly scarring childhood, he expresses his intense mental and
emotional insecurities through subtle metaphors that bluntly show problems with
commitment to women and proving his masculinity to others. Ernest Hemingwaywas
born on July 21, 1899, in Cicero, Illinois. Clarence and Grace Hemingway raised
Ernest in the suburbs of Chicago and Northern Michigan. He spent most of his young

Right out of high school, he escapes from home when he enlists in the army during
World War I to serve as an ambulance driver in Italy. One moment that really struck
with him, due to it being masculine, was when a soldier was injured by a machine
gun, and he managed to carry the soldier to safety and save his life. Little did many
know, he also found and married his first love during the war, Hadley Richardson.
This was the first time that he actually began to not fear and actually trust a
woman. This eventually branches off to more problems with women and even
commitment, for he is married 3 more times after Hadley. Deep in Ernest... was a
mistrust and fear of women. Which he suffered from always (Brainy Quote 1).
Never being able to wipe away problems with dedication, due to his fear of women.
Right when the war ended, he began writing short stories and novels. Starting with his
first novel, The Sun Also Rises, in 1926. Several things had influenced his works. His
experience in World War I was influential, though not as influential as the relationship
he had with his parents. Emotions he had dealing with his manipulative mother and
scarring childhood constantly spilled into his writing. Unfortunately, Hemingway felt
like no one should know what his childhood was like, and eventually
Designing A Different Operating System
You can t know where you re going unless you know where you been, this saying
rings true when thinking of Lunix. In order to know the start of Lunix one would
have to travel back in time quite a bit. In this paper, I will research the start of
Linux, the growth, and the future. When thinking of computers imagine they are
as big as the tallest building or stadium. While the size of those computers posed
problems, there was the one thing that made them worse: every computer had a
different operating system. Software was customized to serve a certain purpose,
and software didn t run from one system to another. This was painful for both the
system administrators and users alike. Computers were so expensive back then,
and so many sacrifices had to made even after the original big purchase just to get
the users to understand how the parts worked together. Technology at that time was
not so advanced, so this was the way of life for another decade or so. In 1969, the
beginning of finding a solution to the software problem began. The first developer
Ken Thompson is an American pioneer in computer science. He started out working
at Bell Labs for most of his career. Dennis Richie is the second developer who was a
computer scientist that created the C programming language and, with Ken
Thompson and created the Unix project. Thompson and Richie came together to
address the compatibility issues and develop a new operating system. The key points
that they wanted to instill was to
The Autodefensa Movement In Mexico
In general, the autodefensa movement in Mexico s western state of MichoacГЎn was
an impressive reaction towards organized crime. The autodefensa movement is a
vigilante self defense groups that were brought together in MichoacГЎn to fight
against the Caballeros Templarios cartel. The people of MichoacГЎn were sick of the
violence, extortions, and how the local and state government were indirectly involved
with the drug cartel. The person I interviewed was Ivan who was involved in the
autodefensa movement in Tepalcatepec, MichoacГЎn. When I conducted the
interview through the phone with Ivan since he was still in Mexico, his responses to
the questions such as why you joined the movement were plain, but you can notice in
his voice a sense of pride... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

while building a social base in the Mexican state of MichoacГЎn. The Familia

family values. For example, in an event that took place in Uruapan in September
2006, the cartel members tossed five severed heads onto the dance floor of the Sol

money. It doesn t kill women. It doesn t kill innocent people, only those who deserve
to die. Know that this is divine justice. This examples comes to prove that the Familia

Application Of Cellulases On Juice Recovery
Application of Cellulases on Juice Recovery
Introduction
Cellulose is the most abundant compound produced from stalks, leaves, and stems
(Shankar, 2011). The use of enzymes in the food industry provides safer and higher
quality products. Cellulases are enzymes which break down the sugar cellulose.
Cellulase enzymes are produced by fungi, animals, plants, and bacteria. (Zhang
2013) The cellulase enzyme has been used for various industry applications such as
the textile industry, paper industry, and juice industry. Cellulases link beta, 1,4
linkages in the cellulose chains (Zhang 2013). There are three types of cellulase
enzymes: endoglucanases, exoglucanases, and beta glucosidases. Exoglucanases
act on the reducing or non reducing ends of cellulose (Zhang, 2013).
Endoglucanases cut the nonreducing ends of cellulose or the beta 1,4 bonds.
Endoglucanases are also produced by bacteria, fungi, plants, and animals
(Zhang,2013). Lastly, beta glucosidases are produced by archaea, bacteria, fungi,
plants, and animals and are known for degrading cellobiose (Zhang, 2013). All three
forms of cellulases are produced from animals, bacteria, and plants. The purpose of
this paper will be to discuss mainly the cellulase enzyme and its effect on the juice
industry in addition to other applications of cellulase, and how cellulase behaves in
combination with other enzymes such as pectinase and xylanase.

How Did Erasmus Influence The Church
Desiderius Erasmus was born in Holland in 1466. Margaret, his mother, was the
daughter of a physician and his father Roger was a priest. He was given a semi
monastic teaching and at a young age, his father sent him to a Latin grammar
school. Erasmus had little time with his parents due to the plague that killed them
both in 1483. After his parents died, the guardians with whom Erasmus was being
cared by were persistent about him becoming a monk. In 1492, Erasmus took the
holy vows of monks at the canonry of Stein in Holland. He was soon ordained a
priest and poverty was a big factor in his decision to enter the monastery. In the adult
years of his life, Erasmus was a traditional scholar who studied and resided in France,
England, and Italy. 1516 was a major year for Erasmus. He prepared to release copies
of the New Testament in Latin and Greek versions. By translating the New Testament
into Greek and Latin, it presented a new reasonable and logical idea of the Christian
doctrine. This raised questions that would later on impact the Reformation greatly.
Erasmus used the theoretical methods invented by Italian humanists to help his
understanding and to help others further understand the New Testament and the
Church. His ideas and discoveries set the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Erasmus tried to encourage the other Christians to strive to become as equal as
possible to Jesus. He viewed and taught that the Gospels and the religious sacraments
as doorways to Jesus but that the Church demoralized them with unnecessary and
pointless rituals. In Erasmus eyes, the best technique of learning how to be a good
Christian was the reading and the understanding of stories of Christ from

Juvenile Justice And Criminal Justice
The border between juvenile justice and criminal justice did not endure the juvenile
court s first century. By the 1980s, there was general disappointment with both the
means and the ends of normal juvenile justice. As with every other social repair
efforts, it is difficult to say whether frustration with juvenile justice was born of
erroneous concept or of wretched execution. The administering accepted by justice
policy, however, was unmistakable. Juvenile courts began to adopt the sentiment and
standpoint of criminal courts. Many States redesigned their laws to curtail the
confidentiality of juvenile court proceedings and juvenile court records. Most States
increased the legal etiquette used in juvenile court and shifted the objective of the
juvenile justice process away from individualized intervention. Instead, juvenile
courts and juvenile justice agencies began to focus on public safety and criminal
accountability. In addition, nearly All States enacted laws to toss more youths to
criminal court where they could be tried and punished as adults. In the span of a
single century the American justice system had favorably embraced and then largely
abandoned the concept of using a alternative legal system for crimes committed by
the young. No single concern in juvenile justice has captured the attention of the
public or of policymakers like criminal court transfer. Conflicts over the transfer issue
command the clearest and most candid dispute over the juvenile criminal
It is easy to say that species are constantly changing,...
It is easy to say that species are constantly changing, and branching off into totally
new species. But how do we know where the species originate? Phylogenies help to
show us how all kinds of species are related to each other, and why. These
relationships are put into what can be called a cladogram, which links species to
common ancestors, in turn showing where, when, how, and why these ancestors
diverged to form new species. Without phylogenies, it would be extremely difficult to
put species in specific categories or relate them to one another. Along with
phylogenies can come conflict on which species should be related to one another.
This conflict causes many hypotheses and experiments, which can lead to
phylogenetic retrofitting,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The parareptile hypothesis is taken back at least two decades. It has recently been
rediscovered and contradicted by parsimony. Bayesian inferences support this
parareptile conclusion, but parsimony concludes the idea of turtles being a sister
group to pareiasaurs, which is an anapsid group, including Eunotosaurus. To test these
hypothesis, a multitude of data is compiled to observe the stability behind the
inferences made. In this article, one main experiment was discussed through the
collection and analysis of two retrofitted matrices, phylogenetic analyses, and
molecular scaffolds. In one matrice, Eunotosaurus was added to a diapsid focused
data set, while turtles were added to an anapsid focused data set. The diapsid sets
included a broad sampling of diapsids, which placed turtles as sisters to
sauropterygians. The anapsid set, on the other hand, included a broad sampling of
anapsids, especially parareptiles. Turtles were not included in the anapsid set. When
the experiment moves on to the phylogenetic analysis, Bayesian inferences and
parsimony were brought into the mix. After these analyses, the experiment finally
includes molecular scaffolding. The effect of molecular scaffolding was to see where
extant linneages interact with molecular phylogenies. The, the Bayesian and
parsimony analyses were again repeated with these backbone constraints while
everything else is indifferent. The idea

Difference between Data and Information
Data is specific and it is organized for a purpose accurately and timely. Presented
within a context, it gives its meaning and relevance. The uncertainty also gets
minimized.
Information is valuable because it can affect decision or an outcome. For example, if
the manager is told about the company s net profit which has been decreased in the
past month, then this information can lead for a reason to cut financial spending for
the next month.
Information systems makes operations efficient, it processes data from company
inputs and generates the information that is useful for managing the operations. By
adding more data, information can be more accurate and it will increase the
information system s effectiveness. It is also used to support the organization s long
term goals.
Decisions
Information system from the company can help make better decisions by distributing
the required information and modeling the results of the decisions. Decision involves
choosing the particular action from

In other words, police are not being held accountable for the many killings of innocent people. The police are being cruel; police are malicious people. Therefore, Kaepernick is going to protest until change come. This situation is vested to Kaepernick s belief and values. People should be able to protest the pledge to show respect, to allow the freedom of religion and speech, and to not impose American ideals on others. Changes in Farming Post Civil War Essay Changes in Farming: Contributing factors in farming changes post Civil War After the Civil War there were many factors that contributed the changes that occurred in farming in America. Among them was the drive for the South to renew and regain what had been lost due to the war. Leaders saw it as a time to diversify and turn towards industrialization. The Industrial revolution was underway and with it brought many new inventions that would lead to growth in the farming industry. The wide open space between the East and the West called The Frontier was open for homesteading. New immigrants with their farming knowledge and ability were flooding the East and West gates of the U.S. This was a time in American history when Americans ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After the slaves were freed in 1863, the South had to make changes to supply labor for the farming. Many shady practices by the white man occurred because of this. Sharecropping and crop liens were developed to keep the black man somewhat under their control. Since freed slaves had no money and no place to live, land holders would allow a tenant to live on their property and worked the land in exchange for a share of the crop produced, also known as sharecropping. The crop lien system was a developed to allow farmers to receive goods such as food, supplies, and seeds to be paid for after the crop was produced. This kept the black man and poor white farmers in a constant form of debt. Cotton still played a big part in the growth of farming in the south. There was a high demand for textiles and cotton mills increased production of cotton bales up to 1,479,000 bales per year. While these changes were occurring in the South, many changes in farming were also taking place in other parts of the nation. The government wanted to encourage settlement in the vast areas of the country not yet populated. The Homestead Act helped shape the western landscape. This act allowed farmers to claim up to 160 acres of land. Farmers would stake a claim to a parcel of land and by living on it for five years would be free and clear to take title of the land. Or the farmer could buy

There are a few reasons that may compel people question if college is worth it, like how will I pay off my student debt? or I can still find a job that pays just as well. These reasons are wrong and here s why. College graduates are paid on average $21.77 for men and $18.43 for women (chart). The minimum wage for non college graduates is $7.25. That is about a third of what a college education can earn for you. Another statistic is that college graduates gain almost $20,000 more a year than non college graduates. • 6. Similarities Between Matthew And The Gospel Of John The Gospels are essential texts of the Christian faith as they chronical the life of Jesus Christ. And yet they are surrounded by controversies because they seem to conflict each other. But, in the case of the Gospel of Matthew and the Gospel of John, this concern is truly misplaced. Looking closer at the texts shows that they are not entirely dissimilar. Both texts are based in tradition and their relation to Jesus. The texts come from the same founding idea but the difference lies in their uses of tradition to convey different messages to the audience. The Gospelof Matthew uses tradition to provide legitimacy to Jesus and paint him as a continuation of tradition, whereas the Gospel of John alludes to traditional ideas to show Jesus as a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Similar to Matthew, John makes this obvious from the opening verse of the gospel in which he rewrites the creation myth from the beginning of Genesis. Where Genesis states that In the beginning God created earth (Genesis 1:1), the Gospel of John changes the text to say that in the beginning the was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God (John 1:1). There is no longer just God, there is the Word, or Jesus, and the reader is forced to now think about the world in this way. Instead of bridging the gap between the Hebrew Bible and Jesus, John chooses to changing the words and thus change the way the faith is thought about. John rewrites tradition through Jesus and attempts to create a change in the way the faith works. During the crucifixion of Jesus, John continues to allude to the Jewish tradition with subtle changes to past ideas. When on the cross, a thirsty Jesus is given a drink from a sponge full of vinegar on a hyssop (John 19:29). The reed of hyssop, though it could not have actually held a sponge, it s meant to remind the audience of the tradition of using hyssop to spread blood on your door during Passover. And after his death, John refers to the fulfillment of prophecy in 19:36, where scripture said that not a bone of him shall be broken. Subsequently, Jesus is pierced by the spear of a soldier and there came out blood and water (John 19:34). All of these examples allude to the tradition of Passover. These references, however, were originally about the sacrificial lamb to be slaughtered for use on the sacred holiday. John takes this traditional idea and changes it, using the idea in reference to Jesus. Both the cleansing blood and water that fall from Jesus and the bones that are not be broken are meant to liken Jesus to the sacrificial lamb that saves the Jews. John leads the audience to believe that it is no

  • 8. The Whig Interpretation Of History Essay History may be examined and interpreted in many different ways. This is because there is little evidence that had survived to go by in which historians have to use to study the past. Evidence, written and made by the historical people themselves, include but are not limited to written documents, such as books and letters, and material culture, as in art and architecture. Now, because the original authors or artists are not alive to tell the story, historians have to examine the evidence left behind to make an educated judgment on what had really happened in the past. This judgment or argument is always incomplete and up for revision as more evidence is found as time passes by. Although many conclusions can be generated from one piece of evidence, arguments can be biased, leading to different, possibly incorrect, views of history. In his essay, The Whig Interpretation of History, Herbert Butterfield elaborates on the matter that many historians tend to write on the behalf on a Protestant or Whig point of view when researching about history. The argument he has provided in his essay states that the whig interpretation of history relates to the act of abstracting [ideas and events] from their historical context and judging them apart from their context estimating them and organizing the historical story by a system of direct reference to the present (Butterfield 30). To Butterfield, studying the past in the eyes of the present is one of the biggest errors a historian

At time T3, the amplitude of the modulating signal is zero and hence there will not be any deviation in the carrier frequency from its original value. Thus between time T2 and T3, the frequency of the modulated carrier increases from its minimum value attained at time t2. This is shown in Figure 3.l(c) by inserting more cycles during quarter III as compared to the number of cycles that occurred during the quarter

This model, which has been a subject of considerable study over the years, is linked to the study of organizational growth and development. It is based on a biological metaphor that business firms resemble living organisms because they demonstrate a regular pattern of developmental process. Marketing experts acknowledge the existence of product market life cycles. It seems reasonable to conclude that organizations also have life cycles. This paper will use four fundamental organizational life cycles: start up, growth, maturity, and decline. Phase 1: Start Up In the start up cycle an organization will typically have substantial limitations. For example, organizations during this phase will often have limited operational budgets, infrastructure and manpower. The internal structure will be comprised of a few members, if not just the founder in some cases. This non bureaucratic environment contributes to other challenges which include: highly controlled decisions and information, as well as placing the overall ownership in the hands of one or few individuals. The decision making process is placed in the hands of the one(s) who are focused on the development and existence of the organization (Lester, Parnell Carraher, 2003). During this phase the organization will attempt to secure a competitive place in the marketplace through the use of long hours, informal structure and information, and centralization. Other challenges deal with the organization s focus on production and quality while operating with limited resources (Beverland Lockshin, 2001). These are just a few challenges management must consider during the start up cycle. Nonetheless, managers must work hard toward the implementation of business strategies which will

There were many new technologies that were being introduced in this period, a war against Communism around the globe, internal struggles against several types of injustices, a growing drug culture, and several other important developments. To say the least, it was a volatile period in American history and many sub cultures were actively seeking to carve out new paths that were starkly different than the traditional norms. These generations who rejected traditional culture helped carve out a new trajectory for the United States and the movements influences can still be felt to this day. It is believed that the Hippie movement began in San Francisco, California but it quickly spread throughout the United States and Canada as well as in Europe and other parts of the world. The individuals involved in the hippie movement were from a wide range of different backgrounds. Many of them parted with their families and the places that they were raised to follow their own paths. Many of these individuals experimented with LSD and other drugs such as marijuana. Of all the contributions that this counter culture made to the United States, the music produced during this period was arguably the most influential. Musical icons such as Jimi Hendrix and Bob Dylan made their claim to fame in the 1960s and 1970s. This paper will consider three popular artist and

In humanity, one chooses to spend the most amount of time doing what they love in order to result in a satisfying and happily lived existence. Richard Wilbur expresses his appreciation and value of life throughout the poem, A Late Aubade . This poem is influenced and based off of Wilbur s strong relationship with his devoted wife. It emphasizes throughout detailed imagery how one must enjoy the moments they have and can share with their loved one. The existence of an individual is not about wasting time by being out and completing unnecessary jobs, it s about spending time doing what one loves to do. Wilbur is convincing his wife to not go about on her womanly daily activities; he wants her to stay and to take advantage of the few valuable moments life offers for them to be together. Throughout A Late Aubade , Wilbur stresses by applying descriptive language that in life, one must not waste any precious time and should rather focus on what they are passionate about. Richard Wilbur was born in New York City on March 1rst in 1921. He contained a strong literary background as he had come from a family of several journalists. Wilbur s father was a painter and as he recorded experiences of life through his paintings, Wilbur became inspired to do this through poetry. As he came from a Christian religious background, this was a great influence to him as he alludes to many Christian references throughout his works. He and his middle class family had moved to North Caldwell,

The writing process I followed when creating the original assignment consisted of research, a rough draft, a small amount of editing, and a final draft. Researching the topic was the first step I took in writing my paper. I searched for credible and useful information that would have a positive effect on my essay. After gathering my information, I worked to create an outline that would assist in the organization and structure of my essay. I then used my outline to begin a rough draft by inserting research, as well as my own thoughts and ideas. After editing and revising my essay, I ended with a final draft. The editing done to the paper was basic and done solely by myself. I did not use any resources such as the writingcenter. Along with this, peer reviews were not helpful as my group did not strive to make any meaningful corrections or provide any constructive criticism. Because I had little corrections the amount of editing or revising done was limited. Throughout the duration of this class, the process in which I write an essay has changed. Overall, the revision process for the new and improved essay was a great deal different than the first essay. To decide what information I wanted left alone and what information I should take out, I went through my original assignment and read the comments made by my instructor. The comments helped me indicate which pieces of the essay were well written

Post Revisionist Approach To The Cause Of The Cold War The historian who wrote this extract kept a post revisionist approach to reach a judgement for who caused the Cold War in his beginning paragraph . Post revisionist historians blames neither side but instead blames the foundation of mutual misunderstanding which was always there. This idea was first introduced by the leading post revisionist historian John Lewis Gaddis during the late 1900s. There are few reasons why I concluded that the writer kept post revisionist approach. First of all , in his beginning he stated that the civil war was the product not of a decision but of a dilemma . This is where his main idea begins which is that Cold War was not something the opposite powers wanted but instead it was something inevitable due to the misunderstandings . Each side not deemed to trust each other but saw one s defensive measures as a threat . He stated that Russians concluded that the west was resuming its old course of capitalist encirclement this shows that each sides were already aware of the possible upcoming misconceptions as well as the clash of different ideologies( which is shown as the foundation if anti soviet regimes). So far it was apparent that the 2 powers would want to keep their security after the WW2 , but their security actions misfortunately created discomfort and suspicion for each other . One of those changes is manners, when I was growing up, it was very important to have manners. This was the only acceptable behavior by adults, and parents would often say, practicing manners outside of home was a representation of them which made me mannerism When a person sees a child with manners, that child automatic shows their parent s teaching. I believe, due to the rise of technology, parent s avoiding teaching their children proper manners and the lack of social skills, the use of proper etiquette and manners is progressively fading away. Abolition And James Russell Lowell Abolition and James Russell Lowell The Declaration of Independence gave us the famous words: we hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal. James Russell Lowell was a staunch believer that this famous phrase referred to all men, including slaves. Lowell held the opinion that it was the inborn right of all men to be free and that God created all human beings with the same natural rights. The poems The Present Crisis, On the Capture of Fugitive Slaves Near Washington, and Ode Recited At the Harvard Commemoration combined moral and religious beliefs and arguments to make a political statement about the abolition of slavery. By writing this poem, the author hopes to clearly state that all men are equal and that slavery is an affront to God. Ultimately his goal is that those reading this poem will be inspired to abolish slavery. He makes it clear that all people are equal in the eyes of God, or in Lowell s words, God works for all (Lowell 82). Lowell believed that America was no longer using morality as its guide, but instead was being guided by poorly concealed self interest. According to a critic of Lowell s, He believed that America had lost sight of the common good. Increasingly divided into high and low, the populace seemed, to his mind, no longer willing to distinguish individual self interest from civic virtue (Bell 131). As a result of the strong sentiments the author displays in this poem, the reader might feel repulsed at those who put themselves and what they perceive to be best for their country above

However, during this time national monarchies began to show up, such as England and France. These monarchies outside the empire, were out of its control began to gain their own power. With their newfound power, came even more conflict with the Church. One of the biggest conflicts was between the popein the Empire and the King of France. These conflicts eventually led to the period of time known as the Avignon Papacy, which lasted about seventy years. The Avignon Papacy was the time during which the pope was moved from Rome to Avignon, just across the river from France. This marked a huge change within the empire, and had several important impacts. These impacts include a loss in Church prestige, the loss of the Roman identity of the Church, as well as a loss of faith in the Church by the people within the empire. The conflict between the Church and the French Monarchy was centered around their desire for control. More specifically, it stemmed from Pope Boniface VIII believing that secular governments should not be able to tax the clergy, or Church revenues without consent from the pope. This matter was not taken lightly, and the pope issued a Papal Bull, the Clericis Laicos making it clear to the surrounding monarchies,

The four main types of radiological and nuclear terrorism are Chemical, Biological, Radiological and nuclear (CBRN) attacks. These types of attacks can have deadly consequences and significantly impact a country if an attack is carried out. Not only can causality rates be high, but there can also be significant economic consequences as well. Chemical attacks involve the use of chemical agents that are man made gases, liquids, or powders that can have incapacitating or lethal effects on humans. Most chemical weapons fall into five broad categories: blister, nerve, choking, blood, and incapacitating (Forest Howard, 2013). Chemical agents will vary in their degree of potency and volatility. Depending on how volatile or potent the agent is, the stronger the effects of agent will be on humans. Biological weapon attacks involve the intentional release of a pathogen or bio toxin against humans, animals, or plants (Forest Howard, 2013, pg. 113). Similar to chemical attacks, biological attacks can cause, death, illness, and societal disruption. Additionally, these attacks can cause widespread economic damage by poisoning agriculture crops and livestock. Biological attacks can be carried out by dispersing the pathogen through aerosol mechanisms, food and water supplies, and infected animals. A radiological attack is the intentional spreading of radioactive material with the intent to do

There are numerable applications of reaction rates, knowledge in this area is pivotal for industrial, commercial and research sectors. Thus, allowing them the ability to manipulate a variety of factors of chemical reactions with the use of reaction rates. In the scope of the kinetics of clock reactions, there is a range of information that can be obtained about reaction rates (Shakhashiri, 1992). A clock reaction is characterised by an abrupt colour change following an established time lag (Lente et al, 2007). The induction period in a clock reaction is a result of low concentrations of the clock chemical (i.e. the chemical that enables the final reaction). The induction period ends after the total consumption of a limiting reagent, which initiates a short increase in the rate of product formation, resulting in a visible colour change (Schmitz, 2010)(Lente et al, 2007). The reaction rate of clock reactions is subject to factors including temperature, concentration, catalysis and inhibition. These factors can be manipulated, thus changing the length of the induction period in a clock like manner (Shakhashiri, 1992). Changes in the rate of reaction can be described in terms of chemical equilibrium. Chemical equilibrium is a state in which the forward and reverse reactions take place at the same rate (Wilbraham et al, 2002). The relative

(Zhang 2013) The cellulase enzyme has been used for various industry applications such as the textile industry, paper industry, and juice industry. Cellulases link beta, 1,4 linkages in the cellulose chains (Zhang 2013). There are three types of cellulase enzymes: endoglucanases, exoglucanases, and beta glucosidases. Exoglucanases act on the reducing or non reducing ends of cellulose (Zhang, 2013). Endoglucanases cut the nonreducing ends of cellulose or the beta 1,4 bonds. Endoglucanases are also produced by bacteria, fungi, plants, and animals (Zhang,2013). Lastly, beta glucosidases are produced by archaea, bacteria, fungi, plants, and animals and are known for degrading cellobiose (Zhang, 2013). All three forms of cellulases are produced from animals, bacteria, and plants. The purpose of this paper will be to discuss mainly the cellulase enzyme and its effect on the juice industry in addition to other applications of cellulase, and how cellulase behaves in combination with other enzymes such as pectinase and xylanase. 1.Beverage Industry Fruit contains a cell wall which consists of 10% proteins and 90%
  • 45. How Did Erasmus Influence The Church Desiderius Erasmus was born in Holland in 1466. Margaret, his mother, was the daughter of a physician and his father Roger was a priest. He was given a semi monastic teaching and at a young age, his father sent him to a Latin grammar school. Erasmus had little time with his parents due to the plague that killed them both in 1483. After his parents died, the guardians with whom Erasmus was being cared by were persistent about him becoming a monk. In 1492, Erasmus took the holy vows of monks at the canonry of Stein in Holland. He was soon ordained a priest and poverty was a big factor in his decision to enter the monastery. In the adult years of his life, Erasmus was a traditional scholar who studied and resided in France, England, and Italy. 1516 was a major year for Erasmus. He prepared to release copies of the New Testament in Latin and Greek versions. By translating the New Testament into Greek and Latin, it presented a new reasonable and logical idea of the Christian doctrine. This raised questions that would later on impact the Reformation greatly. Erasmus used the theoretical methods invented by Italian humanists to help his understanding and to help others further understand the New Testament and the Church. His ideas and discoveries set the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Erasmus tried to encourage the other Christians to strive to become as equal as possible to Jesus. He viewed and taught that the Gospels and the religious sacraments as doorways to Jesus but that the Church demoralized them with unnecessary and pointless rituals. In Erasmus eyes, the best technique of learning how to be a good Christian was the reading and the understanding of stories of Christ from

By the 1980s, there was general disappointment with both the means and the ends of normal juvenile justice. As with every other social repair efforts, it is difficult to say whether frustration with juvenile justice was born of erroneous concept or of wretched execution. The administering accepted by justice policy, however, was unmistakable. Juvenile courts began to adopt the sentiment and standpoint of criminal courts. Many States redesigned their laws to curtail the confidentiality of juvenile court proceedings and juvenile court records. Most States increased the legal etiquette used in juvenile court and shifted the objective of the juvenile justice process away from individualized intervention. Instead, juvenile courts and juvenile justice agencies began to focus on public safety and criminal accountability. In addition, nearly All States enacted laws to toss more youths to criminal court where they could be tried and punished as adults. In the span of a single century the American justice system had favorably embraced and then largely abandoned the concept of using a alternative legal system for crimes committed by the young. No single concern in juvenile justice has captured the attention of the public or of policymakers like criminal court transfer. Conflicts over the transfer issue command the clearest and most candid dispute over the juvenile criminal
  • 49. It is easy to say that species are constantly changing,... It is easy to say that species are constantly changing, and branching off into totally new species. But how do we know where the species originate? Phylogenies help to show us how all kinds of species are related to each other, and why. These relationships are put into what can be called a cladogram, which links species to common ancestors, in turn showing where, when, how, and why these ancestors diverged to form new species. Without phylogenies, it would be extremely difficult to put species in specific categories or relate them to one another. Along with phylogenies can come conflict on which species should be related to one another. This conflict causes many hypotheses and experiments, which can lead to phylogenetic retrofitting,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The parareptile hypothesis is taken back at least two decades. It has recently been rediscovered and contradicted by parsimony. Bayesian inferences support this parareptile conclusion, but parsimony concludes the idea of turtles being a sister group to pareiasaurs, which is an anapsid group, including Eunotosaurus. To test these hypothesis, a multitude of data is compiled to observe the stability behind the inferences made. In this article, one main experiment was discussed through the collection and analysis of two retrofitted matrices, phylogenetic analyses, and molecular scaffolds. In one matrice, Eunotosaurus was added to a diapsid focused data set, while turtles were added to an anapsid focused data set. The diapsid sets included a broad sampling of diapsids, which placed turtles as sisters to sauropterygians. The anapsid set, on the other hand, included a broad sampling of anapsids, especially parareptiles. Turtles were not included in the anapsid set. When the experiment moves on to the phylogenetic analysis, Bayesian inferences and parsimony were brought into the mix. After these analyses, the experiment finally includes molecular scaffolding. The effect of molecular scaffolding was to see where extant linneages interact with molecular phylogenies. The, the Bayesian and parsimony analyses were again repeated with these backbone constraints while everything else is indifferent. The idea

It has started its journey from 1966 and it has marketed 50,000 vehicles such as Cars, Buses, Trucks, Ambulance. The industrial facility is situated on the Dhaka Chittagong thruway which is just 30km faraway from port city Chittagong. The processing plant has all the key apparatuses and gears for Painting, Body Building, Inspecting and Testing of car. Difference between Data and Information Data is specific and it is organized for a purpose accurately and timely. Presented within a context, it gives its meaning and relevance. The uncertainty also gets minimized. Information is valuable because it can affect decision or an outcome. For example, if the manager is told about the company s net profit which has been decreased in the past month, then this information can lead for a reason to cut financial spending for the next month. Information systems makes operations efficient, it processes data from company inputs and generates the information that is useful for managing the operations. By adding more data, information can be more accurate and it will increase the information system s effectiveness. It is also used to support the organization s long term goals. Decisions Information system from the company can help make better decisions by distributing the required information and modeling the results of the decisions. Decision involves choosing the particular action from
