Disadvantages Of Integrated Model
Abstract The integrated model is a new model that is recently developed to decrease from the
classical approach weaknesses and problems in building the management information systems (MIS
s) that are used to solve the management problems in the practical life. The use of this integrated
model needs to be tested, to prove how efficiently and successfully the model works. To achieving
this objective, this paper uses the mathematical probability theories to implement an internal test of
the integrated model work before using it in the practical life. The paper uses the qualitative
research method in its methodologies.

5 Test and Maintenance Stage: it is the fifth (final) stage in the information system life cycle. Here,
the system will be tested to verify whether it includes errors or if it needs improvements to be better
and effective in achieving the users requirements [2],[3].
1.b What is the drawback of the classical approach
The information system life cycle of the classical approach (ISLC) consists of five main stages
that are: planning, analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance or test stages. The classical
approach uses these stages in its work in building the management information systems that will
be used to solve the management problems. The weakness and problem of the classical approach
arises from the permanent use of all of these five stages in all cases; because there are many cases
that actually need to use some of these stages but not to all of them, and as a result the classical
approach suffers from the weakness and problem in consuming more time and additional cost when
it is used to build the management information systems (MIS s) in order to solve the management
problems

I Had Never Spent Much Time Evaluating My Values System...
I had never spent much time evaluating my values system before taking on this assignment. I
believed that I was wired to think the way I do, and that nothing in particular had to be the cause
for my feelings on certain things. By writing this paper and learning about values, I was able to
take a hard look at myself and figure out what my personal values stem from. My values relating
to the key issues of women s reproduction, poverty/money, health care in America, and minority
groups have blossomed out of personal experiences and experiences I have heard about from
those close to me. I also found several themes that underlie why I have the values that I do, and
why I think about these topics in the way that I do. Women s reproduction is the most important
of the topics to me, because when it comes to women s reproduction I look at the subject from
two points of view. The first point of view I see is the main reason the topic is discussed, which is
the sexual/reproductive side. The other point I see is my own personal experience, which has
nothing to do with reproduction but concerns health. My core values relative to this area are
dignity and worth of a personand social justice. I chose these two because I think every woman
should be able to access forms of birth control and abortionwithout being criticized. Not being able
to do that, in my view, is discrimination. I think the woman who is choosing these actions is of
enough worth to be able to make the right decision for

Impeachments For Senators
The requirements for Senators are an interesting point in the Constitution, and it surprises me that
they remain identical to this day. Each senator serves for six years. It s interesting that each
elected Senator serves for three times as long as a Representative and for two years more than the
President, without re election of course. Senators are required to be five years older than
Representatives, but five years younger than the president, and they are also responsible for the
Impeachment process. It s interesting that Treason requires at least two eye witness to overt
treason, or open admission within court, and the punishment can only be against the person who
committed the crime, and not their associates or family. George Mason,

Dances With Wolves And Avatar
Dances with Wolves and Avatar: Similar but Different
Dances with Wolves and Avatar are thought to be very different, but they are actually more similar
than viewers may realize. First off, these are two must see films! The viewer walks away with much
more than just having seen a movie. Both of these movies encourage cultural understanding,
motivate, and teach individuality.
Dances with Wolves and Avatarare alike in plot and cultural significance. These two films are alike
in plot because in both films, two men, John Dunbar and Jake Sully, willingly put themselves into a
completely new culture and lifestyle. They learn to adapt to the differences and learn a new way
of life in order to survive. For example, in the movies Dances with Wolves and Avatar, John
Dunbar and Jake Sully had to learn each tribe s way of life, such as their language, hunting, and
self defense. Eventually, the two men are recognized as part of a tribe, for John the Sioux Indian
Tribe and for Jake the Na vi Tribe.
These two films are alike in cultural significance because they both show the viewer not to
believe all that is said about individuals, races, and cultures. In the two films, both tribes were
first looked at as evil enemies, but once the two men each took the time to get to know the
individuals and the tribes as a whole, they realized that it was all just a lie. The Sioux and Na vi
were actually nice people who just felt threatened by the outsiders. The tribes needed to look
intimidating so

Nuclear Engineering
Nuclear engineering is the practical application of the breakdown of atomic nuclei and/or other sub
atomic physics, based on the principles of nuclear physics. It includes, but is not limited to, the
interaction and maintenance of nuclear fission systems and componentsВ— specifically, nuclear
reactors, nuclear powerplants, and/or nuclear weapons. The field may also include the study of
nuclear fusion, medical and other applications of (generally ionizing) radiation, nuclear safety, heat
/thermodynamics transport, nuclear fuel and/or other related (e.g., waste disposal) technology,
nuclear proliferation, and the effect of radioactive waste or radioactivity in the environment.

The Yima Project Case Study
Yuma and some surroundings agricultural areas are a flooding plain. This makes the soil very
fertile and good for planting many different vegetables and plants. Yuma has virtually 3 days of
sunshine with sparse mounts of rain. The Colorado river is very close to Yuma, at a couple points
crossing through it. This serves as a main source of water for the acres of farming land available. I
stopped at Yuma on my return from Colorado to examine the conditions under which irrigationhas
been practiced on the Algodones Grant with a view to determine whether or not gravity canals are
likely to prove feasible for the general irrigation of that district, as against pumping. The following
report has been prepared to embody my conclusions on the matter.... Show more content on

The first water to ever flow through the Yuma Siphon was released on June 29, 1912. The All
American Canal was to serve the Yuma Project, the Palo Verde Irrigation District
, the Imperial
Irrigation District, and lands in the Imperial and Coachella valleys. In addition, 16,000 acres of
mesa lands in the Palo Verde Irrigation District are entitled to 3.85 MAF annually with Priority 4
allocating 550,000 acre feet annually to the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California.
This was all decided and agreed on in the California Seven Party Agreement of 1931. The Yuma
Project did have both positive and negative effects on Yuma, the irrigation system, and the
agricultural community. Luckily, there was a much larger margin of positive ways it affected the
community than negative ways. The Yuma Project had a negative impact on the steamer
companies that used the Colorado river to take shipments upriver to other places. They could not
get past dams that were built not long after business started booming. When the Yuma Project had
just started to be developed, there were a lot of kinks to work out. The canals were extremely
shoddy and flooded

Speech On Child Labor
So..What is child labor? Child labor is children basically being slaves for other people. Children
who are involved in child labor are sold by their parents to other companies. Adults would not be
considered people who are in child labor because they are grown adults. They work in fields and
factories but mostly factories. Sometimes they work in gold mines but with no safety equipment
whatsoever. These children work all day and not like you think which is maybe 3 hours. They
spend countless hours which I doubt you would even guess working in those fields, Factories and
gold mines. This segment will teach you all about childlaborand what effects it has on these
children. In this essay you will learn about Child Labor and how it affects different children

But that is what set Activists wondering about child labor and what they can do to prevent it from
happening again. This became now a worldwide issue and eventually Craig Kielburger heard about
the problem and he figured out how he could solve it. He eventually started a organization that
helped kids in child labor. He eventually got a success and was able to help other kids in child
labor. All of this just started because of the shooting.
Right now Child Labor is a International problem and it is trying to be stopped in many
countries. We do not child labor because it is a very sad thing to deal with and we do have
sympathy for what those children are going through and how much they have to work. They are not
just doing chores, they are doing labor.
Now let us get into more about the mines that the children do work in. The mines that the
children in child labor work in are very poisonous. They are unlicensed but they still force the
children who do not wear the proper safety equipment to work in the mines and to mine the gold.
The reason of the poison in the mines is because of Mercury which is a very deadly

Spartacus Film Analysis
Spartacus, 1960, is a film directed by Stanley Kubrick based on the Novel Spartacus by Howard
Fast. The film follows the life of a slave named Spartacus who fought for his own freedom which
led to the Third Servile War. The Third Servile War, also named the War of Spartacus, was slave
insurrections against the Roman Republic. Although Spartacuss main enemy is all of Rome and its
culture, like most heroes portrayed in film, Spartacus s main antagonist is a Roman senator Marcus
Licinius Crassus, whose ultimate goal is to become dictator of Rome. However, does the film
Spartacus follow closely to historical facts, or is it another film dramatized to entertain the public
as Hollywood does? Hollywood dramatizing historical events in historyis not necessarily
considered a bad thing. But how far will Hollywood go to dramatize historical events in order to
entertain the public? With the addition of Hollywood flair, it removes the impact that film had on
Spartacus according to historical accuracy.
Robert Rosenstone, a professor of California Institute of Technology, has written many different
genres from history, fiction, poetry, etc., has said, historical film has been making its impact upon
us for many years now, and its time that we began to take it seriously. By this I mean we must
begin to look at film, ... (p. 1). According to Rosenstone, historians have been able to adapt to the

A Moral Examination of Roger Kumble s Cruel Intentions ...
I can t remember ever seeing a film with more moral problems and issues than Roger Kumbles
Cruel Intentions. Although the film is intended to be a dark comedy and a teenage version of
Dangerous Liaisons, Cruel Intentions is a mature and often shocking look at a potential realistic
situation played up as a fantasy tale that offers a sickening example of the moral decay present in
our society. Morals seem to change from generation to generation, and as time goes on it seems
that at one time what was disgusting and immoral in our society is now second nature and pure
entertainment for today s generation. An example of this might be to take the idea of a show
consisting of uncensored sexual intercourse, and having it actually become a feasible... Show more

The opening scene sets the immoral tone for the entire movie when Sebastian humiliates his
therapist s daughter with nude pictures of her posted on the Internet (his reasoning: she was
charging too much). He then admits that he is tired of sleeping with these insipid debutantes and
wants a challenge worthy of his talents. At the same time Kathryn is upset that her ex boyfriend
dumped her for a ditzy klutz named Cecile (Selma Blair), and wants Sebastian to pop her cherry, so
to speak, to humiliate the boyfriend. As it turns out, this is nothing new for Sebastian, who has a
reputation as a master of deflowering virgins. He agrees and of course succeeds but he has more
challenging goals in mind. While turning through 17 Magazine one day, Sebastian came across the
young Annette Hargrove (Reese Witherspoon), who happens to be the first character the audience
meets with morals. Annette wrote an article titled Why I plan to wait: A virgin s manifesto , where
she goes into depth about all the reasons that she won t surrender her virginity until she falls in
love. While reading the article, Sebastian refers to her as daddies little angel, the paradigm of
chastity and virtue and proudly states that this young virgin would be his greatest conquest to date,
and explains the wonders it would do for his reputation. The only reason that this

Alexander Hamilton Advantages And Disadvantages
Alexander Hamilton Hamilton was man who had everything going against him since the
beginning. Unlike many of the other Founding Fathers, he did not have a privileged
background. Hamilton was the only founder born outside the American colonies. He was an
immigrant who had many disadvantages early on. Instead of settling for an unremarkable life,
he did not let them stopped his ambition. His disadvantages only fueled his ambition. He was a
smart man who was always in the pursuit of honor. Always outspoken and fearless, Hamilton
transformed our country. It did not took him long when he came to the colonists to make an
impression. He was an advocate for revolution since the beginning and was destined to become a
hero of the American Revolution. After the Revolutionary War was over, he was the most
important supporter of the Constitution which he defended in the Federalist Papers. This made
him key in the ratification of the Constitution. As Secretary of Treasury, he became the architect
of the country s financial system. It took effort and a lot of writing but he was able to complete
his very unlikely path to greatness. The life of one of the most influential individuals in
American history began in 1755 on the island Nevis in the British West Indies. In this tiny
tropical island in the Caribbean was where he came into this world at the very bottom of the
social order. He was a bastard illegitimate, because his mother was not legally married to his
father. As a result, he was prohibited from attending a Christian school, and had no rights of
inheritance. When he was ten, his family moved to St. Croix, where hundreds of plantations
worked by slaves produce sugar and coffee for export. His Scottish born father, James A.
Hamilton, came to the West Indies with the ambition to make a fortune in the sugar trade, but was
never successful. Soon after they arrive on St. Croix, his father abandoned the family. He would
never see his father again. Only about two years later at the age of thirteen his mother, Rachel
Faucette, died of yellow fever. Faucette s small estate went all to her first husband, Hamilton only
kept the books. He loved reading and took advantage of these books and the knowledge stored in
them.

Heavy seasonal rain in rural areas has led to an increase of nutrient loads, from the topsoil into the
waterways. This can result in high concentrations of certain chemicals modifying aquatic plants,
quality of water affecting the health of trout fish. There are many probable causes resulting to the
death of trout fish, which could either be due to the fertiliser or the pH of the stormwater. The main
chemicals found in most fertilizer are nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, known collectively as
NPK. They are the primary nutrients found in commercial fertiliser, each playing a key role in
helping the nutrition of the plant. However, the surrounding farms used a fertiliser rich in
ammonium, sulphate and phosphate. Due to the wide range of possible

6.What is the nature of their relationship? Use examples from the text to justify your response.
The two characters, the short story Hills like White Elephants by Ernest Hemingway is centred
around can be perceived to be close to one another, in some form. This can be inferred from the
passage It s really an awfully simple operation, Jig, the man said. It s not really an operation at
all. where the two talk of the operation used to induce a miscarriage, a topic that tends to only be
breached between trusted individuals; although this excerpt does not determine the nature of their

Jig also displays a subtle defiance to the man, which proves that there may be more problems than

My sympathy with Jig is strongly cemented by the sentence I feel fine, she said. There s nothing

Notes On The Rise Ra Out Of The Horizon
I chisel away at the limestone; I am writing on a tablet. It reads Rise Ra out of the horizon . I was
ordered by Pharaoh Khafre to make this tablet, it will be soon used in a temple to honor the great
god of the sun, Ra. Pharaoh Khafre worships Ra more than any other Pharaoh we have had in the
past. He is trying to ensure that there is harmony between people and nature. He plans to build a
great monument for us to worship the god Rain. A great pyramid is in the works of being built as
well, this pyramid will be similar to his father Pharaoh Khufus and will be his final resting place. I
am a scribe, meaning I know how to read and write in our language. My job is to inscribe
temples, tablets or any other thing I am asked to. These letters I am writing are called
hieroglyphics and we only use them when we talk to or about the gods, they are a religious
alphabet we use to honor them. Our everyday writing is called hieratics and it is mainly used for
business, administration and keeping records on papyrus, our form of paper, it is reed flattened
out. I do enjoy my job; I am not dragging limestone for distances or slaving away building
pyramids or temples for our pharaoh. You could say that I am of a higher social division. I am
not a criminal nor am I severely poor, these people are our slaves. They break their backs doing
hard manual labor for our Pharaoh. There is also a group of citizens that voluntarily do hard labor,
these are not extremely poor but are not rich either.

Reverse Engineering A brilliant method of taking an object apart and disassembling all of its
mechanical components and analyze every bit of detail, enough to recreate a duplicate without fully
understanding the original. Reverse engineering is used for many reasons, for example; a military

engineers take the machinery apart and gain the knowledge on how to duplicate the same class tank
without having to develop their own techniques. Another group of people that benefit greatly from

Many businesses use reverse engineering to take apart a current product and find alternate ways of
making it work by cutting out old techniques and introducing new ones in order to cut down on
the cost of the product. The Japanese used reverse engineering in the 1950 s after Texas
instruments of Dallas had built the first transistors to recreate their own they did it legally and
they obtained the paperwork that gave them the right to make their own transistors, the Japanese
company that did this is Sony. Shortly after entering the market Sony of Japan had easily over
taken the market and was the lead developer. A decade later Sony had set its mind on televisions,
rather than the vacuum tubes that were being used in that day s television sets Sony had used a

why it will always survive. Whether you are studying a 3D model of an object in order to

Essay on The Dream
The Dream
In the early twentieth century, film maker and producer Adolph Zukor met Jesse Lasky, owner of
Jesse L. Lasky Feature Play Company. The two men admired each others previous work and, in
1916, decided to combine forces. They created Paramount pictures and had one of the most familiar
slogans in the film industry, If it s a Paramount Picture it s the Best Show in Town . Proving their
slogan true they started turning out more than two pictures per week. During it s peak in the silent
film making era, Paramount was making 5 million dollars a year more than other production
companies such as Warner, Fox, and Universal.(Paramount)

Since the company began, the decisions it has made have influenced others in the industry. Even
though they may not have always been the most profitable movie making company, they have

Drug Smoking And Drug Trafficking In The World

For ten years I ve stuffed circuit boards at the High Cats International Corporation and at noon, a
thousand federal agents, which included, the FBI, ICE, Homeland Security, and local police,
raided the place and arrested the owner of High Cats and fifty high ranking employees.
According to what I overheard the Federal agents had confiscated 800 pounds of cocaine, 400
ounces of meth, 200 ounces of heroin, 9, 00 ounces of marijuana and a shit load of prescription
pills. As well as, 560 high powered rifles and over 600 thousand dollars, stuffed in paper bags. How
was I to know that drug trafficking and weapons smuggling were taking place, right under my nose?
Needless to say, the Feds padlocked the front door and now I m jobless
When I arrived home, I found a note from my wife informing me, she had cleaned out both the

bank foreclosed on the house and right after that the repo man drove away in my truck. With no
money in my wallet, I packed a duffle bag and found a park bench down by the river and spent the
night.
Sometime around sunrise I felt a tug on my foot. When I opened my eyes there stood a man about

Educational Cost Essay
Educational Costs and Logistics For out of state students, which is where I would fall under, the
yearly tuition for UW is $34,791 and the overall cost for a year is $49,986. Although this is
much more expensive than the in state tuition cost, the overall out of state cost to attend UW is
not as expensive as out of state costs for other schools or private schools. The cost for housing and
food, which is the equivalent of room and board, is an estimated $11,691 for students who live on
campus and $14,625 for those who live off campus. It is much more beneficial to live on campus

that they all contain a private bathroom and a kitchen. The other options may have a private

except for apartments, but differ when compared to other housing areas. The North Campus
Residence Halls, West Campus Residence Halls, and the West Campus Apartments all can be

since the price difference between living in a single room and a triple room is quite drastic, and
I would rather not live in a triple occupancy dorm, I would probably choose to live in a double

Psychology Chapter 4
Chapter 4 They are different way to try to understand other people, looking at signs like facial
expressions, attitudes and emotions for example. Facial expressions of emotions are when one
part of the face registers one emotion and the other a different emotion. Some cultures express
themselves by movements like gestures, touch, personal space, eye gaze and their tone of voice.
To understand other people we need to observe there behavior. To do that we use general notions
or schemas about personality trails that go together in one person. Some of them are passed from
one generation to another. In my case I observed the people are around me and I try to visualized

This activates an internal self justification process to occur. When a person internally processes
self justification, it creates a larger and much more powerful effect on a person s long held
beliefs or morals than if any external justification is evident. When person advocates publically
for something that is a counter belief to their true ideals, also known as counter attitudinal
advocacy, the person will feel a certain level of dissonance. A clever application of cognitive
dissonance theory is to get someone to like you by having them do you a favor. The reason this
works is that the person needs to internally justify the fact that they did something nice for you.
The converse is true as well. If you harm another person, to reduce the threat to your self image
that could come from doing a bad deed, you will tend to justify what you did by denigrating your
victim: the person deserved it, or he or she is not one of us anyway. In extreme cases such as
conflict and war, many people will embrace the cognition that the victim or enemy deserved
everything they got because they are less than human. Chapter 7 One way that attitudes can change
is when a group of people or persons participate in counter attitudinal advocacy while having little to
no external justification for it. When this happens people will

Similarities Between Picasso And Matisse
Some think rivalry is two people that holds onto totally different believes and don t fit together

onboard competition, inspiration, motivation, friendship and more. Ever after Gertrude Stein
arranged a meet between the two, Picasso and Matisse became rivals for the rest of their life. Both
were influential artist that have dominated the art of the twentieth century. Even though, they were

According to the Steins, Matisse and Picasso are two gifted men whose temperaments and
strengths were more different. It was only natural that the two artists would see themselves as
rivals. When the two men meet, Matisse s career was beginning to take off. On March 19th,
1906, his second one man show opened at a Private Gallery where he exhibited fifty five
paintings, along with a number of sculptures, watercolors, drawings, and lithographs. The
paintings ranged in date from 1897 to the current year, so the exhibition served as a retrospective
that gave a clear idea of his art development. For the 1906 Salon exhibition, Matisse only showed
a single painting, Le Bonheur de vivre (Fig. 5), which was the largest and most daring canvas he
had ever done. Matisse s creation of The women with the hat (Fig. 3) had unexpectedly shocked
people, but with le Bonheur de vivre. Matisse appear to have purposely set out this painting to
create a shocking effect. That Matisse wanted his painting to be a kind of manifesto. Leo Stein

The Scriptural Flood Myth
The Scriptural creation account describes God s creation as a place where His presence resides
and that created humans as the crown of His creation for relationship with Him. Humans are made
in the image of God, which includes the personal nature of God and a capacity for relationship with
Him. Humanity was chosen by Godto be the mediator of His divine presence and power, to bear
His image. Elaborated by Alexander and Baker, humans are not an afterthought created to
provide for the needs of the gods, as in the Babylonian story of origins, nor are we slaves of the
gods as in some of the Egyptian stories. Yet through sin and disobedience, we see a perverted
image of God which ruptures their relationship with YHWH. This rebellion leads to a perverse...

In the covenantal promise at Sinai, He makes this clear. The first commandment in the
Decalogue states that you shall have no other gods before me (Ex. 20:3) which establishes that
God works alone and is not part of a pantheon. He is not one god among many, but the one True
God. As well, when God reveals His name, YHWH, to His people and establishes the Law, the
Old Testament format for the covenant is very similar to the Hittite treaties and Assyrian treaties
from the Late Bronze Age. This reflects the character of God to reveal His law and the covenant
relationship in a language and custom that His chosen people are familiar with. He is a
thoughtful and compassionate God who communicates in a way that His people will understand.
Though treaties were common in this time, no deity had ever entered into a treaty with humans
which further reveals His unique covenant relationship with His people. As well, the treaties
typically expressed a suzerain and vassal type relationship, and it is possible that YHWH is even
further establishing His royal rule and relationships with His people as their faithful King.
Through the formation of Israel as God s chosen people depicted in the covenant at Sinai, His care
and promises are evidenced through a royal inscription by an Egyptian pharaoh on the Merneptah

Heavy metal music has been around now for quite some time now and over the decades has been

pride themselves on going against the norm and challenge society. The second type of subculture is
the one who enjoys the music and tends to be less intense when considering themselves as heavy

irresponsible they are. Some of these are about their driving skills such as being intoxicated or

How Presidents Have Too Much Power
Most of the specifications for the executive branch in the Constitution, other than how he is to
be elected, have to deal with the interactions between Congress and the President. The president
can (fill in the blank) but only if (this part) of Congress approves. The powers of the president
have been interpreted widely so that he has more power than I believe the Framers intended.
They wanted him to be able to check Congress with veto power and be the head of the military.
However, I think that presidents nowadays have too much power. They are active in trying force
their policy agenda through Congress, manage foreign relations, and act as the administrative
head of the entire nation. The textbook lays it out well in, The vast size of the executive branch
and the number and complexity of decisions that must be made each day pose a challenge for the
White House. (316) In order to deal with the stresses put on the executive branch, there are
thousands of employees that work to give the president the information that he needs to make
decisions. He has advisors, cabinet members, legislative liaisons; the list goes on and on, but he
is the person who actually gets to make all of the choices. The President is limited in some ways
and given more power in other ways by the structure laid out for him in the Constitution, and
evolved to be what it is now. Based on the way that the President s office was created, the makeup
of the Congress can present a challenge or an

The purpose of the experiment was to investigate the effect of the temperature of the water on

puts a tablet in cold water and one in warm water, then the water in cold water will take a longer
time to dissolve and the tablet in the warm water will dissolve faster was supported. I got this
result because the added energy in the hot water causes water molecules to move faster which
make the tablet dissolve faster, and the tablet in colder water took a longer time because the cold
water is condensed. This experiment relied on the temperatureof the water how cold and how hot

Humor And Its Relationship With Positive Life Outcomes
Humor has been said to play a large role in our everyday lives, including having an impact on
ones well being; mainly influencing their level of self esteem. Humor is often seen as a coping
mechanism for dealing with stressful events throughout a person s lifetime (Stieger, Formann,
Burger, 2011). For some time there has been the circulating idea that humor is directly related to
positive life outcomes, but has been supported with very limited empirical evidence (Vaughan,
Zeigler Hill, Arnau, 2014). This view is often encrypted in the minds of general society because of
the constant use of jokes and sayings that acknowledge the use of humor as a way to deal with life
s current circumstances; using humor as a means to cope (Leist MГјller, 2013). The problem with
this view is that it does not consider that there are multiple styles of humor that can affect its
relationship with positive life outcomes (Vaughan et al., 2014). Contemporary research suggests
that sense of humor is a multidimensional personality construct consisting of both [two] adaptive
and [two] maladaptive styles (Kirsh, 2005). Based on this prior research there are four distinct
styles of humor which are defined as being a person s habitual conduct or use of humor in daily
life, that is his or her typical stable pattern of humor behaviours and attitudes (Beermann, 2014).
The two adaptive styles are: (1) self enhancing humor, which is the use of personal humor to make

The Male Gaze Analysis
The Power of the Male Gaze
In patriarchal society, the male gaze serves as a reminder of the shortcomings and inadequacy of
the female sex. The male gaze as seen in Edith Wharton s House of Mirth functions as an objective
measurement of a woman s worth and a catalyst for Lily s downfall. Lily internalizes notions of the
male gaze and attempts to emulate the ideal feminine archetype. However, the fragility of her social
standing is exposed due to the overwhelming influence of the male gaze.

As a woman in her society, Lily s choices for marriage are limited as she claims, Ah, there s the
difference a girl must, a man may if he chooses (Wharton). This illustrates the stark contrast
between the standards set in society for men and women. A man may if he chooses, meaning
that if a man chooses not to marry, his reputation does not suffer. If a girl does not marry, the
implication is that she is an unsuitable partner and is unfit for society. Marriage in 19th century
society is a rite of passage to becoming the ideal woman and without marital status, reputation
suffers. Lily s downfall from society is marked as Simon Rosedale rejects her marriage proposal
by saying, I won t go into what s happened. I don t believe the stories about you I don t WANT to
believe them. But they re there, and my not believing them ain t going to alter the situation

There are two wolves battling us all right now.... One s good, the other is evil. If you re wondering

the white city s atmosphere as preppy, educated, society that consists of architects like Daniel

first synthesised around 100 years ago, and has been used to produce polycarbonate plastics and
epoxy resins since the 1960s (US FDA, 2012). Polycarbonate plastics are lightweight and rigid,
therefore used in products such as CDs, DVDs, sports and medical equipment, food and drink
containers and some water supply pipes. Epoxy resins are used as protective coatings in food
cans, paints and adhesives (Aschberger, 2010). According to the US Environmental Protection
Agency, there are over three million tonnes of BPA produced worldwide each year. Humans are
exposed to BPA as it has the ability to hydrolyse (react with water) when catalysed by hydroxide,...

For example, Lang et al (2008) claims that higher levels of BPA in the urine were associated with
cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. However, higher levels of BPA in the urine could also
suggest a high consumption of packaged food. The packaged food is higher in sugar, salt and fat
content, therefore would lead to a higher risk of type 2 diabetes. The US Environmental Protection
Agency concludes that these studies are insufficient for use in risk assessment because of a variety
of flaws in some of the study designs . They further question the findings stating that there is an
inability of other researchers to reproduce the effects in standardised

Land Cover Segregation of Coastal Area using K Means Algorithm Manjari Saha Computer
Science and Engg. Dept., Govt. College of Engineering and Textile Technology, Serampore,
Hooghly, West Bengal, PIN 712201. India. E Mail: cmanjari@gmail.com Abstract Coastal areas
provide livelihood facilities to many and also offer vast recreational and economic activities,
and yet, at the same time, such eco regions require to be managed with special emphasis and
consideration of its natural and cultural resources. Land cover classification of such diverse sea
land regions requires a high level of effort and plays a vital role for the analysis of time based or
event based change on certain areas. For effective utilization of remote sensed images obtained
from Earth orbiting satellites, a lot of image classification methods are available in literature. In this
paper, we use the method of unsupervised classification for the users convenience and flexibility,
low computational requirements and moderate classification accuracy. The objectives of the paper
is to classify the land cover by mapping the region into W S V (Water, Soil, Vegetation) components
using the unsupervised K means algorithm, to obtain land use/cover gray scale image combining
the W S V components and thereby finally deriving the related performance metrics such as
histogram and land cover correlation. Keywords Clustering, Coastal area, Correlation, Histogram,
Image segmentation, K Means, Land Cover/Use

Subject: Troubleshooting information systems Espresso! Application at the Royal Hotel
This May I introduced a new rapid response solution for Royal Hotel based on the requirement of
high standard customer service. My client Royal Hotel wants to better satisfy their valuable
customers at a higher level than other most hotels . Such as light bulb out and toilet clog should be
avoided after making some good change advised by consulting. I thought the most compliments by
customers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, technology cannot solve itself and deliver a needed information processing
functionality to users if isolated work. I thought in my program people and structure are the key
issues I should address here. Since individuals all have their own attitudes, skills and even some
prejudice, here in Royal Hotel the employees lost their interest very fast after they tried the new
system in beginning and especially those housekeeping person did not want to replace the new
system with the old ones. They may not be equipped with appropriate skills to adopt
computerized device, or they may be just old fashioned people who cannot accept new trends
easily. Structure is crucial here as well because user resistance, incentive systems and
relationship in a corporation can heavily affect employees behavior, which will lead them to
resist the new system. According to the above troubleshooting, there are some solutions here:
First of all, I will try to figure out if there is some flaws existed in the new IS that I did not
noticed before. If it is really flawed and cannot work well as I previously expected, I will
recommend negotiating with supplier and getting refund back. Alternatively, if the system itself
works well, I will try a strategy focusing on people . I can set up some more interesting and
applicable training program to get the employees confidence back and improve their skills to use
it. Otherwise I will suggest the HR department turn over the old staffs and

Should Undergraduates Specialize
as the rest of us rush to keep plugged in The more forward looking view is to accept the role of
the Web as a mind expander and wonder not at the bad but at the good it can do us (Do Not Fear
the Cybermind). The realization that different does not mean bad must be realized. Just because
something opposes our beliefs or society s traditional values does not make it dangerous or
unworthy of consideration. Sometimes new, unfamiliar things offer us new opportunities to grow
as a society, learn, and compromise. In the article, Should Undergraduates Specialize, a mother is
comparing her 1940s British college experience to her 21st century daughter s American college
experience. Throughout the article, she lists the clear difference in her... Show more content on

For instance, many feared electronic media when it first entered the scene. They were skeptical of
the oncoming digital age and what it held in store for humanity. New forms of media have
always caused moral panics: the printing, press, newspapers, paperback, and television were all
once denounced as threats to their consumers brainpower and moral fiber... But such panics
often fail basic reality checks (Mind Over Mass Media). If society were to take one of these
reality checks they would have come to realize this new form of media had more benefits than
disadvantages. They feared that the technology would halt productivity and affect the brain;
however, in most cases it did the exact opposite. If electronic media were hazardous to
intelligence the quality of science [and other brain inducing activities] would be plummeting. Yes,
discoveries are multiplying like fruit flies, and progress is dizzying (Mind Over Mass Media). It
is true, electronic media does have its drawbacks, but that does not mean we should completely
discredit the idea. Perhaps a better solution would be to compromise by

Disadvantages Of Integrated Model Abstract The integrated model is a new model that is recently developed to decrease from the classical approach weaknesses and problems in building the management information systems (MIS s) that are used to solve the management problems in the practical life. The use of this integrated model needs to be tested, to prove how efficiently and successfully the model works. To achieving this objective, this paper uses the mathematical probability theories to implement an internal test of the integrated model work before using it in the practical life. The paper uses the qualitative research method in its methodologies. Keywords Integrated Model; Management Information System; MIS, Classical Approach; Information System Life Cycle; ISLC, Simple ... The classical approach uses these stages in its work in building the management information systems that will be used to solve the management problems. The weakness and problem of the classical approach arises from the permanent use of all of these five stages in all cases; because there are many cases that actually need to use some of these stages but not to all of them, and as a result the classical approach suffers from the weakness and problem in consuming more time and additional cost when it is used to build the management information systems (MIS s) in order to solve the management problems ... • 3. I Had Never Spent Much Time Evaluating My Values System... I had never spent much time evaluating my values system before taking on this assignment. I believed that I was wired to think the way I do, and that nothing in particular had to be the cause for my feelings on certain things. By writing this paper and learning about values, I was able to take a hard look at myself and figure out what my personal values stem from. My values relating to the key issues of women s reproduction, poverty/money, health care in America, and minority groups have blossomed out of personal experiences and experiences I have heard about from those close to me. I also found several themes that underlie why I have the values that I do, and why I think about these topics in the way that I do. Women s reproduction is the most important of the topics to me, because when it comes to women s reproduction I look at the subject from two points of view. The first point of view I see is the main reason the topic is discussed, which is the sexual/reproductive side. The other point I see is my own personal experience, which has nothing to do with reproduction but concerns health. My core values relative to this area are dignity and worth of a personand social justice. I chose these two because I think every woman should be able to access forms of birth control and abortionwithout being criticized. Not being able to do that, in my view, is discrimination. I think the woman who is choosing these actions is of enough worth to be able to make the right decision for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Each senator serves for six years. It s interesting that each elected Senator serves for three times as long as a Representative and for two years more than the President, without re election of course. Senators are required to be five years older than Representatives, but five years younger than the president, and they are also responsible for the Impeachment process. Dances With Wolves And Avatar Dances with Wolves and Avatar: Similar but Different Dances with Wolves and Avatar are thought to be very different, but they are actually more similar than viewers may realize. First off, these are two must see films! The viewer walks away with much more than just having seen a movie. Both of these movies encourage cultural understanding, motivate, and teach individuality. Dances with Wolves and Avatarare alike in plot and cultural significance. These two films are alike in plot because in both films, two men, John Dunbar and Jake Sully, willingly put themselves into a completely new culture and lifestyle. They learn to adapt to the differences and learn a new way of life in order to survive. For example, in the movies Dances with Wolves and Avatar, John Dunbar and Jake Sully had to learn each tribe s way of life, such as their language, hunting, and self defense. Eventually, the two men are recognized as part of a tribe, for John the Sioux Indian Tribe and for Jake the Na vi Tribe. These two films are alike in cultural significance because they both show the viewer not to believe all that is said about individuals, races, and cultures. In the two films, both tribes were first looked at as evil enemies, but once the two men each took the time to get to know the individuals and the tribes as a whole, they realized that it was all just a lie. The Sioux and Na vi were actually nice people who just felt threatened by the outsiders. The tribes needed to look intimidating so ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Yuma has virtually 3 days of sunshine with sparse mounts of rain. The Colorado river is very close to Yuma, at a couple points crossing through it. This serves as a main source of water for the acres of farming land available. I stopped at Yuma on my return from Colorado to examine the conditions under which irrigationhas been practiced on the Algodones Grant with a view to determine whether or not gravity canals are likely to prove feasible for the general irrigation of that district, as against pumping. The Yuma Project did have both positive and negative effects on Yuma, the irrigation system, and the agricultural community. Luckily, there was a much larger margin of positive ways it affected the community than negative ways. The Yuma Project had a negative impact on the steamer companies that used the Colorado river to take shipments upriver to other places. The film follows the life of a slave named Spartacus who fought for his own freedom which led to the Third Servile War. The Third Servile War, also named the War of Spartacus, was slave insurrections against the Roman Republic. Although Spartacuss main enemy is all of Rome and its culture, like most heroes portrayed in film, Spartacus s main antagonist is a Roman senator Marcus Licinius Crassus, whose ultimate goal is to become dictator of Rome. However, does the film Spartacus follow closely to historical facts, or is it another film dramatized to entertain the public as Hollywood does? Hollywood dramatizing historical events in historyis not necessarily considered a bad thing. But how far will Hollywood go to dramatize historical events in order to entertain the public? With the addition of Hollywood flair, it removes the impact that film had on Spartacus according to historical accuracy. Although the film is intended to be a dark comedy and a teenage version of Dangerous Liaisons, Cruel Intentions is a mature and often shocking look at a potential realistic situation played up as a fantasy tale that offers a sickening example of the moral decay present in our society. Morals seem to change from generation to generation, and as time goes on it seems that at one time what was disgusting and immoral in our society is now second nature and pure entertainment for today s generation. He was a smart man who was always in the pursuit of honor. Always outspoken and fearless, Hamilton transformed our country. It did not took him long when he came to the colonists to make an impression. He was an advocate for revolution since the beginning and was destined to become a hero of the American Revolution. After the Revolutionary War was over, he was the most important supporter of the Constitution which he defended in the Federalist Papers. This made him key in the ratification of the Constitution. As Secretary of Treasury, he became the architect of the country s financial system. It took effort and a lot of writing but he was able to complete his very unlikely path to greatness. The life of one of the most influential individuals in American history began in 1755 on the island Nevis in the British West Indies. In this tiny tropical island in the Caribbean was where he came into this world at the very bottom of the social order. He was a bastard illegitimate, because his mother was not legally married to his father. As a result, he was prohibited from attending a Christian school, and had no rights of inheritance. This activates an internal self justification process to occur. When a person internally processes self justification, it creates a larger and much more powerful effect on a person s long held beliefs or morals than if any external justification is evident. When person advocates publically for something that is a counter belief to their true ideals, also known as counter attitudinal advocacy, the person will feel a certain level of dissonance. A clever application of cognitive dissonance theory is to get someone to like you by having them do you a favor. The reason this works is that the person needs to internally justify the fact that they did something nice for you. The converse is true as well. If you harm another person, to reduce the threat to your self image that could come from doing a bad deed, you will tend to justify what you did by denigrating your victim: the person deserved it, or he or she is not one of us anyway. In extreme cases such as conflict and war, many people will embrace the cognition that the victim or enemy deserved everything they got because they are less than human. Chapter 7 One way that attitudes can change is when a group of people or persons participate in counter attitudinal advocacy while having little to no external justification for it. As well, when God reveals His name, YHWH, to His people and establishes the Law, the Old Testament format for the covenant is very similar to the Hittite treaties and Assyrian treaties from the Late Bronze Age. How Presidents Have Too Much Power Most of the specifications for the executive branch in the Constitution, other than how he is to be elected, have to deal with the interactions between Congress and the President. The president can (fill in the blank) but only if (this part) of Congress approves. The powers of the president have been interpreted widely so that he has more power than I believe the Framers intended. They wanted him to be able to check Congress with veto power and be the head of the military. However, I think that presidents nowadays have too much power. They are active in trying force their policy agenda through Congress, manage foreign relations, and act as the administrative head of the entire nation. The textbook lays it out well in, The vast size of the executive branch and the number and complexity of decisions that must be made each day pose a challenge for the White House. (316) In order to deal with the stresses put on the executive branch, there are thousands of employees that work to give the president the information that he needs to make decisions. He has advisors, cabinet members, legislative liaisons; the list goes on and on, but he is the person who actually gets to make all of the choices. The hypothesis is that if one puts a tablet in cold water and one in warm water, then the water in cold water will take a longer time to dissolve and the tablet in the warm water will dissolve faster was supported. • 33. Humor And Its Relationship With Positive Life Outcomes Humor has been said to play a large role in our everyday lives, including having an impact on ones well being; mainly influencing their level of self esteem. Humor is often seen as a coping mechanism for dealing with stressful events throughout a person s lifetime (Stieger, Formann, Burger, 2011). For some time there has been the circulating idea that humor is directly related to positive life outcomes, but has been supported with very limited empirical evidence (Vaughan, Zeigler Hill, Arnau, 2014). This view is often encrypted in the minds of general society because of the constant use of jokes and sayings that acknowledge the use of humor as a way to deal with life s current circumstances; using humor as a means to cope (Leist MГјller, 2013). The problem with this view is that it does not consider that there are multiple styles of humor that can affect its relationship with positive life outcomes (Vaughan et al., 2014). Contemporary research suggests that sense of humor is a multidimensional personality construct consisting of both [two] adaptive and [two] maladaptive styles (Kirsh, 2005). Based on this prior research there are four distinct styles of humor which are defined as being a person s habitual conduct or use of humor in daily life, that is his or her typical stable pattern of humor behaviours and attitudes (Beermann, 2014). The two adaptive styles are: (1) self enhancing humor, which is the use of personal humor to make oneself laugh and uplift your ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
