How To Conclude A Persuasive Essay
Writing an essay on the topic "How To Conclude A Persuasive Essay" can be quite challenging,
requiring a careful balance of summarizing key points, reinforcing the thesis, and leaving a
lasting impression on the reader. Crafting an effective conclusion involves more than just
rephrasing the introduction; it requires a thoughtful synthesis of the main arguments presented
throughout the essay.
One of the difficulties lies in avoiding redundancy while still emphasizing the significance of the
persuasive elements introduced in the body paragraphs. The conclusion should not merely repeat
what has already been said but rather provide a fresh perspective or a call to action that
resonates with the reader.
Moreover, striking the right tone is crucial. The conclusion should be persuasive in itself, leaving
a lasting impact on the reader's mind. This necessitates a careful selection of words and phrases
to evoke the desired emotional response, whether it be a sense of urgency, empathy, or a shared
commitment to the cause.
Additionally, crafting a memorable conclusion requires a deep understanding of the target
audience. Different readers may respond to different appeals, so tailoring the conclusion to
resonate with the intended audience is a delicate yet essential task.
In conclusion, writing an effective conclusion for a persuasive essay demands a combination of
analytical skills, creativity, and a nuanced understanding of rhetorical strategies. It is a task that
goes beyond mere summarization and requires the ability to leave a lasting impression that
reinforces the essay's overall argument. Mastering this skill can be a challenging but rewarding
aspect of essay writing.

Walmart vs. Target
Millions of people a day shop at the two biggest retail chains stores around the
round world. What are the difference between Wal Mart and Target that make
consumers pick one over the other? Both The chain stores have many similar and
difference when concerning to prices, quality, and quantity. In this essay I will talk
about why people chose to shop at one than the other or do they shop at both. Do you
go to Walmart for certain things and go to target for the other?
Walmart has about 9,600 retails around the world it s the World s 18th largest
public corporation. It is also the biggest private employer in the world with over 2
million employees, and is the largest retailer in the world. Walmart is a much bigger
brand than Target as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When concerning savings I would have to say both are winners and sometimes
losers in that department, and I say that because many times Walmart and target
brands are not that much cheaper than the name brands and when it to regular
brands being marked down like big toys or bikes you can really find a better deal
at mom and pop stores. It really depends what you re looking for when you re
looking for a good deal, its best to check the sales ad every Sunday and check
between Target and Walmart. Both stores normally have similar items in their sales
ad at the same time for different occasions like Christmas and valentine for example,
that s when you know which stores has the better deal on savings.
I do most of my grocery shopping at Walmart because I notice to big difference
when shopping elsewhere, it s only a select items that I can t get at Walmart that
when I have to go somewhere else. I mainly shop at target for clothes and
household items they have very go styles and good quality when it comes to that
department. Walmart and Target are good companies when concerning savings in
general, if you are really a penny pincher you have to know which place is best to
shop at for the right items.
I really have to say it really depends on how the consumer wants to shop. Some like
to shop at a clean and helpful friendly place and some people don t care that much on
An Excerpt From The NovelPrayer To Aphrodite
An excerpt from the novel: Prayer to Aphrodite . Balmy evenings were spent
strolling along the seashore, occasionally finding some secluded cove where they
could make love undisturbed, or sometimes the couple would just gaze up at the
clear night sky as they lay down together on the sands. On one occasion two days
before the end of their holiday Amy tried to count the stars. You ll never do it, said
Clare, there are more stars in heaven than all the grains of sand on all the world s
beaches. Clever Clogs who told you that? It was my Uncle Bernard. He was into

It began to rain rather suddenly and Amy, wondering where Clare had disappeared,
was about to go and look for her, when she appeared at that moment, soaked to the
skin. What on earth were you doing all that time? she said curiously. Were you
praying for the rain to stop? It says here that this temple is supposed to be
dedicated to Apollo the Sun God she laughed, waving her guide book in the air.
Oh, no, it wasn t that particular deity I was praying to, Clare said with a secretive
smile. On another lazy afternoon by the pool, Clare, lounging beneath a sunshade,
composed a short poem in blank verse. She felt that writing rhyming verse was
sometimes too arduous a task. The poem was, as were all her poems, written for
Rachel. She scribbled it down on the back of a postcard; deliberating afterwards
whether to actually send it, even sticking a stamp on it and writing Rachel s
address underneath: Forsaken You have forsaken me; I, who have loved you. But
you will never admit to it. You just say I m busy when I call, In the forlorn hope that
one day, You can find it in your heart to forgive. Was my love a crime for which I
shall be eternally punished? Should I say something, lie to you perhaps? Deny my
love, tell you it was all a dreadful mistake, And can I have our friendship back?
Grovel at your feet and say I m not a lesbian. The long leisurely days on the sun
kissed isle passed rapidly and Clare forgot about the postcard
What Are The Challenges Of Benjamin Franklin s Life
Early in Benjamin Franklins life, he faced a big challenge that led him to make
choices to shape up his influencing character. It shows us that he had to work hard
from an early age. This is a big challenge for him because he had to work from an
early age along with becoming better academically. Growing up in a big familywith
so many siblings, he had to take care of himself. His father Josiah worked in a soap
factory, along with making candles. Benjamin worked with his father until he was
twelve years old, until he started to despise working with his father which made his
father look for alternative jobs. Knowing Benjamin and his interest in education and
books, his father suggested he worked for his older bother James, who was a printer.

In return, all James did was slander Benjamin s name throughout the community so
he wouldn t be able to find work anywhere else. This was a big challenge for
Benjamin because not only did he have a bad name that lasted quite a long time but
he also had to force himself to move to distant places like New York and Pennsylvania
. He had to travel under dangerous conditions across seas to find another job. Also
another challenge Benjamin faced after leaving his fathers job, was that he couldn
t find a long stable and suitable job for himself. He always faced problems at every
new job he joined. On his way to New York, Benjamin meets Bradford, who was
not able to offer him any jobs. But he refers Benjamin to his son Andrew who was
a printer in Pennsylvania. When Benjamin gets to Pennsylvania, Andrew did not
have a job to offer him. Then Andrew refers him to go work for Keimer, who is
also another printer. Although Keimer gave Benjamin work, but it doesn t last
long. He later stops living with Keimer and ends up leaving the job. From these
events in his life we are able to see the cycle and pattern, and he might face similar
challenges in the future. Benjamin gets pushed around from places to places to find
a jobs with very few people recognizing his ability and passion to write, and how
much of an intellectual, he was. He wasn t able to save up his money due
Gregorian Chant
Gregorian Chant
This music can be divided into three types, marked by the degree of difficulty.
Simple chants allowed the whole congregation to participate, and some could easily
reach back before Gregory, perhaps even to the music of the synagogue.
More complex are the antiphons for lauds and vespers. Still, they are not too difficult
for a monastic community with members of varying skills. The O antiphons for
Advent belong to this second group.
Finally, solo cantors or small groups of trained musicians would sing the complex or
melismatic chants for the propers of the Mass. These complex chants are built of
structural notes that are linked by an elaborate interlacing of notes, not unlike the
Celtic knots found in the art of the Book ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are varying definitions of the term, ranging from a slower and mellower form
of rock music to a subgenre of pop music. The detractors of pop rock often deride it
as a slick, commercial product, less authentic than rock music
Much pop and rock music has been very similar in sound, instrumentation and even
lyrical content. The terms pop rock and power pop have been used to describe more
commercially successful music that uses elements from, or the form of, rock music.
Pop rock has been defined as an upbeat variety of rock music represented by artists
and groups bands such as Elton John, Paul McCartney, The Everly Brothers, Rod
Stewart, Chicago, and Peter Frampton
The term pop has been used since the early twentieth century to refer to popular
music in general, but from the mid 1950s it began to be used for a distinct genre,
aimed at a youth market, often characterized as a softer alternative to rock and
roll.[6][7] In the aftermath of the British Invasion, from about 1967, it was
increasingly used in opposition to the term rock music, to describe a form that was
more commercial, ephemeral and
Essay On College Goals
When the challenge of beginning college presented itself, I had no goals in mind.
When you re 18 and have a high school diploma in your hand, people tend to see
you as a piece of molding clay. Your friends and family can t resist telling you what
you should do and how you should do it. They also never fail to pile on the
questions. Not having the answers to such seemingly simple questions like, What
do you want to be? Where do you want to go? How are you going to do it? can
make a young, ambitious person question herself. But the reality was, I just did not
know yet. I considered becoming a business manager, a dental hygienist, an
accountant, a nurse. Originally, I thought not having a solid plan meant I wasn t
prepared for college. However, I discovered that no matter what students aspire to
pursue during their postsecondary education, everyone must complete General
Education Requirements, so that is where I began my journey.
As far as where I wanted to go, my sights were set on the University of Alaska
Southeast in Juneau. So in 2014, I left my hometown of Haines, moved into the brand

ultimate goal. So in the summer of 2015, I moved from Juneau to Fairbanks, and

Ira Byock s Doctor-Assisted Suicide Is Unethical And...
There are several reasons why physician assisted suicide is such an ongoing
argument between people in this day and age. Whether they want it legalized or don t
want anything to do with it, it s safe to assume that this topic is rather controversial in
our society. In the debate titled Doctor Assisted SuicideIs Unethical and Dangerous
written by Ira Byock at the New York Times, he states, Legalizing assisted suicide
fixes nothing. The principle that doctors must not kill patients stands. Two moral
wrongs don t make a right (Byock, 2015). Some may agree with Byock, but others
truly believe that the patient should be able to make a choice about their end of life
treatment and no one else should be able to tell them otherwise.

In certain states, it has nothing to do with a doctor s Hippocratic oath and it
should be stated over and over again that this is what the patient wants not what the
doctor wants (Botelho, 2015). The doctor has no say in the matter other than to
agree or disagree with the patient s wishes. If there is no possible route of
treatment for a patient, it should be allowed for the doctors to give the okay if the
patient doesn t want to harm themselves or their families in the months or years of
trauma that would come with their terminal illnesses. For patients, it is nothing but
pain and suffering. As stated earlier: If we can do it to our animals, isn t it fair that
we can do it for ourselves as well? If anyone see s that their animal is in pain, the
first thing an owner does is ask a veterinarian what the right treatment option is, and
usually, it is euthanasia if they re all out of

P 51 Mustang: A Fighter and an Escort changes the course of World War II
Long before the B 17 came to be and, in fact, long before the United States would
enter the Second World War, the Army Air Corps put out a request for bomber
prototypes. Three companies answered the call with Boeing Airplane Company
being one them. Originally labeled the Model 299, Boeing raised eyebrows in
excitement by flying their offering 2,000 miles nonstop at an average speed of 252
mph from the plant in Seattle, WA to Wright Field, OH. As stated in the book Boeing
Aircraft since 1916 by Peter M. Bowers (1966) (P. 245), the flight, the name, the
armament, etc. ...resulted in a rash of publicity unlike that given to any individual
aeroplane since the transatlantic flight of Lindbergh s Spirit of St. Louis eight years

Summary Of Hercules 12 Labors
The 12 Labors of Hercules
Hercules was assigned 12 Labors by Eurystheus to prove that he was the son of the
God Zeus. Alcmene, Hercules mother, was a mortal as was Hercules ( Hercules
and His Twelve Labors ). He exemplified heroism and bravery, envied by his own
cousin Eurystheus and his father s wife Juno. That is why Hercules was given the 12
labors.
Juno who is most hostile to children , sends two snakes to kill young Hercules
while he slept in his crib. Instead of screaming, Hercules strangles the two serpents
playfully, thinking they were toys (Genovese). As he grows older more of his
strength starts to show and he starts to achieve more goals such as killing a lion
single handedly and partaking in the war. This soon resulted in envy from Juno and
Eurystheus. Juno reports this to Eurystheus, and demand that he give Hercules the 12
Labors. Juno makes him give Hercules these task, because he thinks that one will kill

This labor is where Juno sends a lion to a town to eat the people of Nemea. Hercules
can t use his bow to kill the lion because his bow is not narrow enough to pierce the
lion s thick furry skin . So Hercules single handedly killed the lion and wore his skin
as a symbol of protection.
The second Labor given was the Lernaean Hydra . The Lernaean Hydra was a
creature who lived in a swamp with odors so strong that it killed anyone or
anything that dared to smell it . Therefore , Hercules slices his head but for every
head he cut off two more appeared . He soon got a flaming brand from a friend and
burns each stump after each head was served off. After each head he cuts off he
finally comes to the 9th head and he cuts it off and buried it under a rock.
The 3rd Labor was The Hind of Ceryneia , that is where Hercules captures the
Erymanthian boar and brings it back on his shoulders. Eurystheus was so frightened
by the beast that he hid it in a
Crude Oil
CRUDE OIL Crude oil is a flammable liquid found in subterranean deposits and
best known for its use as a fuel and as a raw material for chemical products. It was
originally created from the remains of animals and plants that lived in a water
environment. Millions of years ago, much of the earth was covered by seas more
than it is today. Countless millions of tiny creatures and plants lived in these seas.
When they died they sank to the bottom, and as the years passed more and more
piled up on the sea bed. Silt and sand piled up with them, and the whole lot was
pressed firmly down by later layers over the centuries. The terrific pressure of these
layers, and of the water on top of them, generated heat. This heat together with other

remain boiling. The vapours with a high boiling point cool while they are still
quite near the bottom of the tower. Those which can keep boiling at a low
temperature travel highest up the tower. 5. The trays at intervals up the tower
collect the different liquids as they form, and theses liquids are then run off
through exit pipes. 6. After the liquid fractions are collected they are either passed
into condensers which cool them further and are then placed in storage tanks for
further chemical processing. 7. From these fractions we get the oil products such
as petrol, diesel oil and kerosene. Very few of the components that come out of the
fractional distillation column are ready for market. They then have to be purified.
Sometimes they are even changed chemically to produce other products, or
perhaps the heavier oils are broken down and changed into more useful light oils.

known for his science fiction and thriller works. He wrote more than fifty short
stories and many novels. His two most popular works are Time and Again and The

Capital Punishment Is The Sanctioned Practice
Committee Name: 6th legal
Committee Topic: Capital Punishment
Country Name: Nigeria BRIEF BACKGROUND OF THE TOPIC
Capital Punishment is the sanctioned practice that puts someone to death in response
to crimes. There are many and varied types of execution used around the world today,
including: beheading, electrocution, hanging, lethal injection, shooting in the back of
the head, and by firing squad. People have been working to end executions since
1977, when only 16 countries had abolished the death penalty in law or practice.
Today, the number has risen to 140 nearly two thirds of countries around the world.
Nearly 90% of these happened in just three countries: Iran, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
But these figures exclude China, where numbers remain a state secret. Many
countries around the world continue to hide their practices of capital punishment, for
example Iran continues to execute juvenile offenders those aged under 18 at the time
of the alleged crime in violation of international law. Along with Maldives and
Pakistan, it also sentenced juvenile offenders to death in 2015. Countries continued to
flout other aspects of international law, putting to death people with mental or
intellectual disabilities, as well as those charged with non lethal crimes. Apart from
drug related offences, people were executed for crimes such as adultery, blasphemy,
corruption, kidnapping and questioning the leader s policies . The amount of death

Against Universal Health Care
Universal health care is a program where every one in the country has medical
coverage for surgery, illness, and treatments that would cause problems with your
health. The United States is currently the only industrialized country that has no
universal health care. Universal health care is a controversial topic because people
don t know if they want it here in the United States. Some reasons why people might
want it is because it gives everyone coverage as long as you are a citizen of that
country. A reason why you would not want a universal system is because the
coverage you get may not cover certain operations. Although universal health care
may sound appealing, it actually has flaws. Universal Health Care should not be

Every patients main concern when going to a hospital is to get a surgery to fix a
problem that they have, or to receive prescriptions for illnesses and diseases. But a
factor most probably are not worried about when they go to a hospital is how they
are being treated. Doctors already have a difficult task to perform, but overcrowding
the hospitals will cause them to be busy and possibly conduct their job with out the
amount of care that is required. Giving out prescriptions in a hospital could also be
effected. Patients vital medicine could be mixed up with someone else s and cause
even more harm. The wait time in a hospital for an operation is also effected by
over population. In the United States there is already about a 2 hour wait time in
each hospital that you go to (Mortal Peril). Adding a universal health care system
would only cause that time to increase. There are some cases where the operation
cannot be delayed because of excessive bleeding or a lady about to give birth. Both
of these examples need to be treated within a certain amount of time or the patient
could possibly die. The graph below shows how other countries wait times with a

new supportive housing facility, Beswick House 2.0, to support the long term
needs of individuals living with complex health and social needs. After opening
Carlyle Commons in 2013, a facility that offers 8 independent living apartments,
we quickly realized we were still unable to meet the needs of Calgary s most
vulnerable. Despite having added 15 more spaces to our programming, our wait list
continues to grow. There are currently over 35 people in desperate need of our

Vasovagal Syncope
Generally, before fully losing consciousness, presyncopal symptoms include feeling
faint, dizzy, lightheaded, hearing ringing, darkened or faded vision, and decreased
hearing ability. The victim is overpowered by unsteadiness and weakness before
blacking out. Inevitably, symptoms of the episodes continue until the vertigo
(dizziness) overwhelms the victim, literally sending them into a whirl. One can know
when to worry if symptoms like chest pain, dyspnea (difficulty breathing), low back
pain, heartpalpitations, severe headache, ataxia (loss of body movement control), or
slurred speech occur. After the victim wakes up from fully losing consciousness, he

If there is no obvious or known cause, a non invasive cardiac test,
echocardiography, ambulatory monitoring, stress test, and tilt table test are
necessary. If the fainting is triggered by a certain position or movement like
stretching or valsalva, it would be very helpful to do that specific maneuver to
trigger the symptoms while being monitored by a doctor (Hain). Valsalva is a
forceful exhalation, like one might do if their ears are plugged. While performing a
tilt table test, the doctor will record the patient s blood pressure at a 70 degree tilt
using a motorized bed. The results are considered abnormal if there is a neurally
mediated response like a sudden onset of hypotension (very low blood pressure),
bradycardia (very slow heartbeat), or both when the patient is kept in the upright
position which is the most common abnormality. The doctor will also monitor if
there is positional orthostatic tachycardia or dysautonomia, which is a gradual
decrease in blood pressure with little or no change in heart rate while moving from
a lying down position to an upright position.. The tilt table s main purpose is to
confirm autonomic dysfunction. Autonomic function is the term used to describe
the processes in our body that we do not control ourselves, like blood pressure,
heart rate, and digestion. Another test called ventilation perfusion scanning is used
for suspicions of pulmonary embolism, which is a large blood clot blocking blood
flow to organs. The last experiment doctors may use is called Holter monitoring.
This requires that a small device that records every single heartbeat is to be worn for
24 hours along with a written log of any symptom. There are many variations of
Holter monitoring which extends the time and strictness
The symbolism of the plant in A Raisin in the Sun
The symbolism of the plant in A Raisin in the Sun
One might ask how the scientific facts of the functional purpose of a plant would
connect to a literary piece, especially the well known play, A Raisin in the Sun,
written by Lorraine Hansberry. The plant in the text symbolizes the foundation for the
family, honest hope, and Mama s dreams. Symbolism is not a definition of an item,
but represents something specific other than itself. Much like Mama s plant, it
represents many meaningful ideas with supportive evidence throughout the text. The
plant standing alone may seem like a generic addition to the setting of the Younger
household, but when it is observed in a deeper analytical approach; the symbolism of
it in itself holds such ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It also functions as transportation for minerals and food to the other parts, much like
how Mama conveys her strength and wisdom throughout the family. When one
imagines a stem of any plant, whether it is a large tree in a forest, or a small plant
in a windowsill, the same illusion and symbolism comes to mind. The symbolic
nature that a stem holds up heavy branches above qualifies as strength and stability.
Mama is not solely one part of this plant, but all parts in different contexts. The lack
of light that the plant gets lessens the chances of its survival, but the neither plant nor
Mama give up. Discussing about her children and they tempers, Mama then
addresses that if her little old plant don t get more sun than it s been getting it ain t
never going to see spring again (Act 1, scene 1, 40). The light symbolizes the energy
the plant needs in order to grow, and her family desperately needs the same. Mama
knows that her family needs a shot of hope to have any chance at happiness. The lack
of light on her plant is much like the lack of hope within her family. Although there is
negativity, she stands tall, much like a stem to continue moving forward towards
their dreams.
Hope is a strong word that I believe is the only thing greater than fear. Mama and the
Younger family hold onto that little bit of hope to get to where the need to go. Mama

consideration to the needs of low income individuals when developing legislation.
Since these low income individuals do not have the means to give large amounts

of Congress endorse legislation that would benefit their largest donors. This leads
to a Congress that is not a true representative of the broad interests across the
United States (Flavin 2015). The increasing importance of big money in campaigns
has also heightened the polarization within Congress. Candidates have been forced

Depression In William Wordsworth
I have been seeing three new patients recently, all Romantic poets who appear to be
suffering from various levels of melancholy. Although each one of these poets is
highly successful and influential in the Romantic Movement, each has
experienced bouts of dejection, loneliness, and disillusionment with reality.
However, this melancholy seems different from cases I have encountered in the
past. Strangely, none of these clients show symptoms of the excessive black bile
that typically associated with melancholy such as apathy, lack of motivation, and
hopelessness (Brady, Haapala). In fact, while all of these clients experience
melancholic thoughts, these emotions appear to be more complex than depression
as they allow the pleasures of deep reflection and often lead to feelings of sublime
joy and inspiration. Instead of suffering from a clinical form of melancholy or
depression, these clients appear to be experiencing a complex emotion of joypain
which they believe has the capacity to reveal the infinite powers of the self or the
imagination (Murray, 722). Yet, while all of these poets seem to believe in the
importance of melancholy as inspiration for their work, each of these poets also
seems to express this emotion in different ways. While one of these poets, Mr.
William Wordsworth, often turns his negative ruminations into positive reflections on
nature and memory, Mr. Coleridge instead experiences deeper melancholic moments
that he cannot dispel quite so easily. Mr. John
Bodybuilding Nutrition And Nutrition
Bodybuilding Nutrition
Bodybuilding is a sport where men and women s goal is to achieve a symmetrical
and muscular physique with low body fat percentages, usually in order to win a
competition. Many factors go into reaching these goals such as resistant training,
genetics, mental will power and nutrition. While all of these factors are important to a
bodybuilder, nutrition seems to be one of the most important, most researched and
most tested and manipulated branch of the bodybuilders lifestyle. Specifically, the
effects of protein on a bodybuilder, the ideal macronutrient ratios (carbs, fat, and
protein) for fat loss and muscle maintenance. and nutrition s effect on resistance
training recovery have been studies to further optimize a bodybuilders physique.
The important yet controversial topic of optional protein intake has been a hot
topic for years in many areas such as the needs for sedentary induvial, sports
athletes, Olympic athletes and bodybuilders. However it is generally agreed upon
that while the RDA standard of .75 .80 g/kg of body weight a day is enough to
keep those with physical activities in there day to day life in a positive nitrogen
balance, this is not the case for bodybuilders due to their goals of increasing muscle
mass and intense training. (Masedu, Ziruolo, Valenti, Di Giulio, 2012) A more
beneficial protein intake for bodybuilders should sit around 1.7 2.2 g/kg of body
weight a day if the induvial wants to see optimal results with regards to

EXPLORING LAKE JOSEPHINE AS A BIOME: AN OBSERVATIONAL
APPROACH Abstract Introduction The habitat provided by Lake Josephine is
contingent on the living and nonliving factors interacting with the lake. Lake
Josephine is located along Lexington Avenue in Roseville, Ramsey County,
Minnesota (Minnesota Department of Natural Resources 2015e). Lake Josephine
is home to many life forms. While the lake is a habitat for different species of fish
and other life forms, plants occupy the wet and dry land around the lake. Lake
Josephine also serves as a recreational ground for many people; it has a small sandy
beach, a fishing pier, picnic area and a playground. Boating, fishing, boating and

Human activities at Lake Josephine include swimming, fishing and boating,
among others. The sound and turbidity caused by boat stresses the fish out. Boat
fuel, paint and other and engine components are toxic to aquatic plants and
animals (McCoy, et al, 2010). There was not a lot of boating on the days the lake
was visited. However, small amounts of some of these chemicals such as antifreeze
could be very toxic even to humans (McCoy, et al, 2010). Animal death could also
result from human activity. The cause of death of the organism shown in figure 11
could not be determined during this project. There are several possible causes of
this animal s death. It is also, however, safe to say it could have been struck by a
boat or caught and released by during fishing. Indiscriminate fishing and overfishing

Baldwin s Father in Notes of a Native Son Essay
Playgrounds of Harlem Narrative is a form of writing used by writers to convey
their experiences to an audience. James Baldwin is a renowned author for
bringing his experience to literature. He grew up Harlem in the 1940 s and 1950 s,
a crucial point in history for America due to the escalading conflict between people
of different races marked by the race riots of Harlem and Detroit. This environment
that Baldwin grew up in inspires and influences him to write the narrative Notes of
a Native Son, which is based on his experience with racism and the Jim Crow Laws.
The narrative is about his father and his influence on Baldwin s life, which he
analyzes and compares to his own experiences. When Baldwin comes into... Show

He was also a conserved man who secluded himself like a prophet, such as Tiresias,
the prophet from Oedipus who lived isolated from society. He was marked with an
inability to establish contact with others, except perhaps with his neighborhood
which he left only hostility and uncharitable asperity. (67) However, his failure in
social relationships also stretched, even though to one so close as to be called
family, to his son James Baldwin. This led Baldwin to hate his father for what he
was. Baldwin s father was detested as much by Baldwin as his siblings. Baldwin
explains: When he took one of his children on his knee to play, the child always
became fretful and began to cry; when he tried to help one of us with our
homework the absolutely unabating tension which emanated from him caused our
minds and our tongues to become paralyzed, so that he, scarcely knowing why,
flew into a rage and the child, not knowing why, was punished. (65) It would seem
that this man was a failure as a father. This passage, coming from the father s son,
would undoubtedly have experienced this first hand. While using words such as us
and our, Baldwin evokes an image of the pain him and his siblings went through. His
presence was enough to paralyze a child when trying to help it with homework.
When trying to comfort a child by playing with it, he only vexed the child further,
causing it to cry. Baldwin depicts
Descriptive Essay About Jawbreaker Island
Jawbreaker Island is an island far, far away on a planet called Gummy Mars. This
planet is a periwinkle colored crystal in the sky, 3D shaped obviously. Jawbreaker
Island is on the top of the crystal. You would think that the island is at a slant, but
once you get into the planet, it is a flat field of candyand color. My enormous space
ship was trying to fly back to Earth but it was hacked by the gummy rulers. I can
vividly remember how I enter Gummy Mars. We got to the fortress that made the
crystal invisible to any human eye. The Gummies take their security very serious.
The fortress laid around the planet like a blanket. Having no control of my ship, the
fortresses force slowly gravitated my ship through the darkness of space and around
all gray cracking astroys flowing through time. The fortress was unlocked from the
inside and left a gaping entrance to the periwinkle crystal in the sky.
The atmosphere around the crystal was nothing like the black dullness of the
space that was left behind. Outermost layer of the crystal was like jello, the ship
had to rupture this layer to be in the main world of Gummy Mars. Of course, the
break in the fortress was sealed back up by itself. The first thing I saw was the
blueberry cotton candy clouds, sleekly gliding over Jawbreaker Island. The water
surrounding the mammoth sized marshmallows, chocolates, and jawbreakers that
formed the island, was a concoction of blue raspberry and green lime kool aid. My
ship landed on an unwrapped
American Payroll Association (APA)

professionals who are tasked with the responsibility of processing the payroll in a
business entity or organization. The professions join this association in order to gain
the wide variety of benefits the association offers to its members. These benefits
include; Training of its members on the most efficient and effective ways of
processing payrolls as well as carrying other duties within a business entity that the
professional may be assigned to (American Payroll Association, 2002). This training
is done through the association conducting training courses. The association further
publishes articles and other resources that are useful to its members and are
generally stored in the payroll library. This greatly elevates the knowledge of the
members on payroll as well as on its management. In addition, American Payroll

Examples Of Framing Theory
The research for this article was conducted within a framework of Framing theory.
The theory was first put forward by a Canadian American sociologist Erving
Goffman. Media framing, to put it bluntly, is a term that points to a presence of a
certain bias in any media outlets output. All choices made in a newsroom collectively
form the frame through which media decides to show the world to the audiences.
Everything matters: Covering one event and ignoring another, covering one event
more than the other, deciding what words to use to cover an event, what photographs
or video clips to include, whom to give a voice, etc. At the same time, framing theory
goes far beyond newsroom policies. Framing is not necessarily a delibirate choice.
Journalists themselves look at the world through frames: their education, upbringing,
gender, ethnical background, knowledge of the issue, and so on. Audience members
apply their own frames as well, not just to media content, but to everything they hear
and see. In 1993 Entman employed Framing theory approach to analyze the coverage

relevant to me. One such study was conducted by Maslog, Seow and Hun and

newspapers in five Asian countries covered the Iraq war. The study concluded that
newspapers from non muslim countries emphasized War journalism frame, and
generally supported the U.S. invasion of Iraq, while newspapers from muslim
counries opposed the invasion and emphasized Peace journalism frame. Reseachers
found that religion and sourcing are two important factors shaping the framing of
Asian news coverage on the Iraq war. (Maslog, Seow, Hun,
The Advantages Of The Accrual Concept In Accounting
The accrual concept in accounting represents the expenses and incomes that are made
in the period they take place, involving cash payments at the same time. The
advantage side of the accrual approach is that financial statements include all the
expenditures of the reported revenues for an accounting period. For instance when
business has cash flows, it checks the accrual accounting entries and writes the cash
transactions. Admittedly, the accrual principle is a basic requirement of all
accounting spheres, such as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and
International Financial Standards. The concept usually use transactions recorded
under its principle which demands the use of an accrual journey entry making two
sides namely debit and credit. As charges are not always made in cash and the left

Charge represents the increment in holdings and costs, and the abatement in

Evolution Of The Modern Day Human Essay
The modern day human has not existed for very long, in fact its one of the recent
species to populate the Earth. Before modern day humans or Homo sapiens sapiens
as we are scientifically known as, existed a similar yet less developed Homo genus
named Homo erectus/ Homo ergaster. Evidence of these species dates back to over
1.9 million years ago and up to as recently as 70,000 years ago in which the evidence
can be found in Africa, Europe and Asia. In this essay I will firstly provide a general
timeline, providing key dates and phases of evolution. I will then discuss my
findings from the research I have collected as well as information provided by
expert insights and discoveries. I will explain the cause for the expansion from
Africa to Europe and Asia and lastly I will elaborate on the established branches of
Homo erectusand how the different Homo genus came to exist.
Timeline
The Homo genus dates back almost three million years. The Homo habilis species
was the first in the Homo genus and is believed to have initially developed 2.8 mya
(million years ago) in East Africa before becoming extinct 1.5 mya. This occurred
during the Lower Paleolithic period (2.7 mya 200 kya) in which the very first stone
tools were created and mastered named the Oldowan stone industry. H. habilis were
the first fully bipedial species which allowed them to travel further than their
quadrupedial ancestors. Having covered most of Africa, the H. habilis was then able
to manufacture stone tool

Ways of Seeing by John Berger is a set of essays used to explain different
techniques used in oil paintings, advertisements, and the way people look at things
differently from one another. The abstract image Altera Pars by Wojciech Grzanka
is a part of his surreal photo manipulation series called It s All In My Head . In this
image a woman clearly with two sets of arms shows that she is control of how and
what she feels. Her attire shows mixed feelings on how she wants to be looked at.
She is wearing a dress that fades away towards the bottom and underneath she is
wearing pants. She stands comfortably in a room that is grungy and dirty. Women
and men should not be condemned to live up to society s expectations of what is
right and wrong. The third chapter in Ways of Seeing focuses on the idea that women
and men have a different social presence. A mans presence is supposed to represent
how much power he has. The more power a man has the more grand and important
he seems to other people. It represents what he can do to people and for people. A
woman s presence is represented by how she views herself and what she is willing
to deal with from other people. She is also defined by her clothes, her actions,
opinions, and what or who she is surrounded by. She has to act as if she was two
different people, she is to observe herself and pay attention to the presentation of
herself as other people do. Their

Jack Doesn t Want For Start An Outbreak
Another Place, Another Time
Jack didn t want to start an outbreak. What eleven year old did? He didn t even
want to find The Kingdom. All he wanted was to get away from his babysitter,
Susanne. Now his whole town was infected with the Sickness, and it was all his fault.
He sat in his room, his back against the locked door, staring at his hands. The hands
were the first sign of Sickness. A slimy, black ooze would drip off your fingers,
seemingly coming from nowhere. He d seen it on his mom, and on Susanne, and on
the whole town. Now he saw it on himself. It spread up your arms and throughout
your body, turning your skin the color of midnight. You were still yourself then,
though. You were still you, until the Sicknessreached your brain.
Jack watched the black droplets splashing onto the ground and melting into the
floor boards. He knew he had to do something about the Sickness that had rapidly
taken his whole town. He swung his backpack over his back and put a cap on over
his fair haired head. Then he climbed out the window (thankfully, his room was on
the first floor) and started running towards the only place he could think to go: The
woods.
He recalled three weeks ago, when he had done the same. Jack had come to the
woods many times as a child. He loved the fresh air and cool breeze that came with
entering it. It reminded him of his father, who had gotten very sick and died a year
and three weeks before. On that day he had come here to be alone, and that s when
The Similarities Between The Movie Tsotsi And Boston s
Decency is a word which is used often and means different things to different
people. Although people have different opinions about what decency really is, they
are all alike. In the movie Tsotsi, Boston s, Fela s, Tsotsi s, and the dictionary s
definitions of decency are all different but at the same time, are connected to one
another. Some of the definitions are more complex than the others, but all of them
are related to each other, directly or indirectly. In the movie, Tsotsi, Boston states that
he thinks decency means Respect man. For yourself. Boston believes that a decent
person should have reverence for themselves, even though he doesn t. Boston also
thinks that decency is having respect for others. When the big man was killed on the
train during a robbery by his own... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While Tsotsi does not express his opinion of decency verbally or in written form
like the other sources, it can be seen in his actions and reactions. Tsotsi makes a
decent living by having a home, a gang, and a bit of money, therefore living up to
Fela s opinion of decency and agreeing with Fela s viewpoint. Tsotsi shows respect
for himself by not drinking, smoking, and gambling, and by taking care of himself,
and shows respect for others by trying to pay off Miriam, trying to get money to
help Boston, running away when his father beats the dog, returning the baby, and
treating Morris as an equal. These actions are also considered honorable behavior.
Since Tsotsi has respect for himself and for others in his actions, his opinion of
decency is like Boston s. His definition of decency is also like Fela s as he takes
care of himself and makes a decent living. The dictionary s definition of decency
only partly agrees with Tsotsi, as Tsotsi is not correct, but has respect for himself and
for others, and is modest. Tsotsi s definition is a mixture of all the definitions, and is
the most
Representation of Women in Early British Literature
In most early British literature a woman is often presented as only one thing: an
object. They can be objects of desire, objects of beauty, or merely objects to be
owned, but it is rare that a woman is anything more than that. It is even more
uncommon to find a female character in literature that is presented as an equal to the
men around her. In William Congreve s The Way of the World he plays on the
similarities of both his femaleand male characters to establish just how much of an
issue genderreally is because though their actions might be similar, the consequences
are not. The tangled web of relationships that connect each character in this story are
what drive Congreve s play forward. With each past affair (or current) affair that...

Even a man who s character isn t as upstanding as a woman s still makes out better
than her in the end. Congreve seems to establish that women are merely at the
whim of the men around them, they do not control their own fates because they
are naturally submissive. Lady Wishfort, try as she might, cannot do anything to
stop Mirabell s actions and he, therefore, comes out the winner. The most important
fact that was overlooked in class was the true nature of Mirabell and Millamant s
relationship. One question never broached in discussion was, why all the plotting
in the first place? If Mirabell truly loved Millamant like he claimed, why did he
need to fight so hard to get the money she was expecting from her aunt? There s no
evident reason why they couldn t have lived without such money or her aunt s
blessing and yet it seems as if Mirabell practically refuses to marry Millamant
without her inheritance. Millamant, the female and again the submissive one, goes
along with her beloved s scheming because she loves him and will do whatever it
takes to get him to marry her. Millamant, the man, uses his dominance to get her to
agree because it seems he will only marry her if he gets her money as well. The
woman seems like a fool for only focusing on love and only gets what she wants as a
result of her man s intelligence and cunning, but he certainly wasn t just in it for the
love. John
Physics Of Light And Light
Through the fields incorporating the science of light, astronomers use factors such as
wavelengths to interpret stars temperature, heat, distance, size, mass, density, etc. To
obtain all of this information certain light gathering instruments must be used. These
instruments include telescopes. To record this information spectrographs are also
mainly used to record the spectrum and dispersion of light. In light there are different
waves and particles. Light is made up of electric and magnetic fields. Due to this fact,
light is an example of electromagnetic radiation, it is the changing of these fields to
travel through space shifting energy maneuvering from one area to another. Since
light is an electromagnetic wave, each one has a certain wavelength. Telescopes help
us to view the visible light of the electromagnetic spectrum. Most of the
electromagnetic spectrum, such as infrared, x rays, ultraviolet, and gamma rays,
don t reach earth s surface to be examined. A telescope in space, above the
atmosphere, however, is said to be diffraction limited. Since the speed of light is
constant a wavelength of radiation of a star can be seen as its frequency. Frequency
is recorded based on a certain number of waves emitted within a brief second.
Optical Telescopes have two types: reflecting and refracting. In 1609, Galileo had
developed the first telescope. From here on out, ideas back then of the geocentric
solar system were finally put to rest through the use of the first

overall something that I bring with me into this counselor/supervision role is the
fact that I am aware that every clients needs to be seem as a unique client or

this information is important because is important for us to be aware that every

The overall attitude towards growth for Domino s Pizza is to grow and become the

operate themselves by implementing and executing an array of growth strategies.
The first strategy that Domino s executes on is concentration strategy. This strategy
consists of a basic principle in which a business or company does one thing and does
this one task very well. There are three sub strategies underneath the concentration
strategy and the first one is known as product development. The product
development strategy means that a company sells a new product in the same market.
Domino s is using the product development strategy by selling new types of pizza,
the thin crust and deep dish, along with the pasta bowls, chicken wings, and deserts

The second sub strategy is known as market development. This sub strategy allows a

Toys And Its Effect On Children s Toys
Toy Store In today s society, toys that children play with have an affect on their
future roles. Toys teach children what they are expected to do in society as they
grow older. Gender roles are one of the biggest factors in children s toys. Within
minutes of a baby being born, they are wrapped in either a pink or blue blanket
depending on their sex. Blue and pink are the two colors that are used to define a
child s gender. Toys play an important role on children s lives and it teaches them
what it means to be a boy or a girl. Toymanufacturers reflect stereotypes through
design and advertising and impact the socialization of most children. In the large
corporation of Toys R Us, toys are marketed in all different ways, mainly by gender.
In the front of the store, on the right side, there is a section made all for Legos. In the

On the left front side of the store, there are all electronics. Legos, American Girl

children love to play with. These eye catching toys are right in the front so it is like

HMO (Health Management Organization) is a preferred provider organization.
Their focus is to reduce the cost of the preventative care as well as implementing
utilization management controls as part of their goal. Being part of a HMO, you can
choose the primary physician for medical purposes. One of the advantages are the
low cost out of pocket costs for the patient s insurance. Each time you seek medical
care you are only obligated to pay a percentage of the bill. Members of HMO are at
a fixed cost for the monthly fees. HMO tries to encourage the patients to stay on
top of their health, and not let their illnesses get to out of hand by letting it get
worse. Another advantage, is that being part of the HMO, your offered education
classes and discounted club memberships for your health. The disadvantages of the
HMO consist of some strict controls. An example of an advantage would be if you
decided you wanted to receive care from another doctor or specialist, it must be
consulted. Although by doing the consultation, which helps lower the cost for the
HMO and the member, it can also cause problems if your physician doesn t provide
you with the referral. When you receive care from a provider that s not part of a
HMO, the organization will not pay for services that are non emergency from the

Reinhartshausen History
The Past: Castle Reinhartshausen
Set 120 m from the Rhine River, the historic Hotel Reinhartshausen, was constructed
on the site of the 12th Century Castle, Castle Reinhartshausen. Castle
Reinhartshausen was once home to the knights of Erbach, and one hundred years
later the knights of Allendorf lived on this ground. The history of Chateau
Reinhartshausen begins in the 17th Century, a traditional Reinhartshausen chГўteau
built in the Rheingau region, located in the cobblestone streets of Erbach, though the
Chateau always holds a special draw for visitors. Marianne of Prussia, daughter of
King William I of the Netherlands, took over the building including the ground and

Aurora Borealis: By Sid Swain James Harrod paced on the shores of Anchorage
Alaska for hours. He walked, and then he ran, circling around the beach for hours.
He had been running his whole life for he could not remember the last time that he
wasn t in danger. For James life consisted three things: gore, pain, and death. He
was merely a tool for his country, a nonexistent ghost, whose sole purpose was to
become a well equipped killing machine. Today his task was to kill diplomats,
suspected of..... Well who the hell cares! as James would say. As far as he was
concerned it was just another Monday, he knew what he had to do and he was
determined to get to work. James got into his car and headed to the nearest hardware

The sky was filled with incarnadine and viridescent hues clashing beautifully
against each other. He looked up and stared for what seemed to be an eternity. Tears
filled up his eyes, and his false reality shattered into a million little pieces. Nostalgia
had kicked in. He reminisced about seeing the same Northern lights with his mother,
when he was a just a naГЇve little boy. After hours of staring at the sky, he screamed
on the top of his lungs for no apparent reason. That very morning and every
morning before, he had prayed desperately for a sign, which had finally manifested
today. He now had a new purpose. He lacked options, but it was time for him to
take control. He drove straight home. At this point James anesthetized and repressed
feeling were oozing out like blood from a severed limb. He felt the guilt and
remorse for each and every one of the depraved and wicked things he had done in the
name of justice . He thought about the amount of time, money, and resources the
government had spent into creating him. He had resolved himself. James took each
and every one of the bottles of Acid and Lye he had bought and poured it into his
bathtub slowly and meticulously. He asked god for forgiveness, and prepared to take

Buffalo Soldiers Sparknotes
Gather around boys and girls to hear a story about the men forgotten by the world,
said the story teller. All the boys and girls gathered around the old wrinkly and tall
black man. What s the story about Mr. Washington, said Jimmy. Well let s get to it
and find out then, we begin in way back 1865 and it was the year slaves had been
freed . The white men had pushed the Indians off their land around 1848 and put them
on reservations, but they needed a strong group of men to fight them. In what was
born in 1866, the 1st official United States African Americanfighters were born.
When the Indians would fight them they knew that they were from the united states
because of their uniforms, but they didn t fight how the United States white men...

I will get to that, said, Mr. Washington. You see the native Americans were not
making fun of the new fighters, they were simply giving them a name that
explained to the other native Americans who they were. The buffalo was tough,
brave, and meant to be respected. So, therefore the black men were just like them
and that s why they called them that. These strong brave men were not only
fighters but they also had other jobs too. They had way more responsibility then
the white fighters. The Buffalo Soldiers had to herd cattle, escort settlers, and
railroad crews. They also, had to set up camp for the white armies and make roads
to travel on, but one of the greatest they did was they fought in the civil war. They
did a lot more than what we give credit to them. The buffalo soldiers have been
forgotten throughout history and some don t even know who they are. These men
are one of the greatest in African American history because they helped pave the
way for all equality and freedom for you and me. Now kids you see how important
the buffalo soiders are, said Mr. Washington. Yes, said, all the children. I didn t
know who the Buffalo soldiers are at first and now I do, and I will always be thankful
to what they did and helped accomplish for our country . Said Lucy. Yep, that s right
. Said Mr.
Perfect Life And Perfect Families
Perfect Life and Perfect Families What is a perfect life or perfect family? From an
outsider looking in, what does that life look like for you? Is the pressure of
comparing your family with others and realizing that you do not measure up to
what you see? We all have dreams of what our ideal life would be. Sometimes these
are prompted by the model families that we have seen, or perhaps they are the
dreams we had of what our own familyshould be like. Is there such a thing as perfect
families or the perfect life? In the movie Junoand American Beauty some of these
families try so hard to look picture perfect, however they are far from it. Remember
that looks can be deceiving and comparison unfair. In the movie Juno, sixteen year
old Juno is the type of girl that beats to her own drum, and doesn t really care what
other people think of her. Juno ends up pregnant from her boyfriend, Paulie
Bleeker. So she decides to have the baby and give the baby up for adoption. Juno
finds the perfect couple to adopt her baby. She finds Mark and Vanessa Loring, a
yuppie couple living in the suburbs. Juno likes the Loring s and in some respect has
found what looks to be kindred spirits in Mark, with whom she shares a love of
grunge music and horror films. Vanessa is a little more uptight and is the one in the
relationship seemingly most eager to have a baby. Juno enters a closed adoption
contract with the Loring s. Throughout the film you find out just how imperfect Mark

Oedipus The King Analysis
Many people say Sophocles lived a very unknown and mysterious life but, his
legacy memorable plays still live along generations today. One of his most famous
plays that tends to be memorable to most people is Oedipus the king because
Oedipus is an obvlious ignorant king who tries to blame everyone in his circle and
soon realizes he s the killer, and runs away from all of the chaos. In the short article,
written by Bernard Knox it relates to Oedipusthe king because of how civilization is
like in the city of Thebes and how there is conflicts within and outside the kingdom.
Also, back then people thought it is very important to be apart of this kingdom but
many people who were not from this city had a different perception of how their...

Honestly, you can see Oedipus showing great concern about his city and about his
people who are suffering right now but he soon later realize he is going to fight his
own demon that eventually drives him away. Next, when Oedipus reveals the
reason why people are dying in his city he begins to start drama within and outside
the kingdom. Oedipus discovers the original king name Laius has been killed and
this is why many incidents among the city has been happening. Oedipus is very
determined to get to the bottom of this horrific incident and execute who is
responsible for the previous king s murder. He began to blame people in his
kingdom like Ceron and the blind prophet Tiresias. In the story, Tiresias says to
Oedipus when the truth is only pain to him who sees! I knew it well, but I put it
from my mind, else I never would have come. This explains that Tiresias knows the
truth about the murder of king and that people in the palace in fact know the truth
except him. Even in the article Greece and Theater it mentions These city states
were, as often as not, at war with their neighbors over grazing land, borderlines or
cattle raids. The Greeks, who gave us history, philosophy and political science, never
managed to solve the problems posed by their political disunity; even the ideal states
of their philosophers the Republic of Plato, the perfect
Physics in Sports Essay
Physics in Sports
When many people think of sports, the topic of physics doesn t always come to
mind. They usually don t think about connecting athletics with academics. In reality
math, science, and especially physics, tie into every aspect of sports. Sports are a
commonality that brings nations together, Soccer, known as football to most of the
world, is said to an unspoken language, which unties people from different lands
through a passion to play a game. Athletics and sports are made by the people who
play, watch, and study them. Without all of the enthusiastic participants, there would
be no development, education, and intensity that we all know and love about sports.
The one component that reigns over ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As for the golf industry there is the issue of everybody wanting to hit the ball
farther, and the golf companies keep putting out new clubs that allow this to be
possible. So I really think that the golf companies will continue to hover around the
upper limit COR of .83 for drivers because there is still a really high demand for
drivers that hit the ball a long way. For pole vaulting I see no issue in the near future.
It will be exciting to see the new advances made to the poles and to see how high
the athletes can get. As for the new sciences in the three articles I really learned a
lot. I learned what the trampoline effect was and how it ties into more than just one
sport. I learned what the coefficient of restitution was and how it affects the flight
of a golf ball. I also learned what strain energy was and how it applies to stored
energy. But most importantly I think, is that I learned that without the understanding
of physics none of these sports would be organized or be able to make the advances
that it has over the years.
When it comes down to it everybody is affected by physics in sports. If there are
rules and regulations put on products then the producers are affected greatly. The
consumers are always affected by what the producers put out for them to have. If
they are educated on the physics of the sport then they can make the best possible
decision when it comes to picking a product. This also
Criminal Court Observation
It was my very first time ever attending a criminal court or a court in general for
that matter. I have seen many television shows where I have seen many criminal
trials and I was always very interested in watch them. I finally had the chance to
observe an actual criminal court trial and it was far too different from what I
expected. The courthouse itself was very busy and crowded downstairs in the main
entrance, but as soon as I went up in the different floors each floor was very quiet I
only saw very few people walk by or walk inside the court rooms. I had to go to six
different floors of the building just to find a trail that was already in progress.
As soon as I walked in in one of the court rooms on the 7th floor on 26th and
Californian. A trialwas already in progress as soon as I sat down an older woman
with a blue prison suit was escorted in by a sheriff. She was holding what appeared
to be an oxygen tank and it was attached to her nose she was one of the defendant.
Next a very young men wearing a dress pants and a dress shirt with a tie on was
escorted in by another sheriff ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some of them were taking notes and some had their heads down most of the time. At
one moment one of the jury had her eyes closed for a few moments it seemed to me
like she was sleeping while the prosecutor was questioning the firearm examiner.
My perception of a court room was significantly different from what I actually
experienced I felt like the only person that cared about the trail was the actual
defendant and everybody else were just there just because they had to. I didn t
enjoy being there I know people in general don t like to be in criminal courts, but
seeing how justice is dispensed in that court room made me hope that if one day I
get myself in trouble I truly hope that I have enough money to get myself a great
private attorney who would care and fight for my

Genie Alternate Ending
The Feast of Giving has always been time of warmth and happiness for Genie. The
red and golden leaves, the first nip of chill in the breeze, the eternal smell of
cinnamon, she loved it all. But most of all, she loved the time she spent with her
father. As far as she was concerned, those days could last forever. Nevertheless, Genie
would soon find that this holiday was particularly memorable.
What do you mean he has Stonelock? Only old Gargoyles get that! Genie blurt out
at the news. She could hardly believe her ears at first. Sure her father had been
limping, and his movements had been more stiff, but he was still in his prime. He
couldn t be sick! She refused to believe it.
Now, Genie, Her mother soothed in her usual stone cold voice. ... Show more content

Sure enough... You are doing it all wrong.
How s that?
You have to start all over.
Anger surged through Genie s heart at her mother s monotone words. She swore she
turned a dark purple at the very thought. Faster than she could contain herself the
words bubbled to the surface and spilled out of her mouth. I am following the
instructions! So I do not need your help. She spun around, waving the whisk. Only
too late did she realize she had gotten some of the orange pulp on her mother s face.
The women looked startled well as far as Genie could tell, which was hard for even
her. Slowly, she moved her claw to her cheek and removed the gunk. And to Genie s
surprise, it got flung right back at her.
Before either of them knew it, they were scooping up large handfuls of pie filling to
toss at each other. When they ran out of the filling, they moved onto the cranberry
sauce, the stuffing, even the gravy! The whole kitchen became a battle scene of
flying edible projectiles. All Genie s hard work came undone.
What is going on here? Her father s shocked voice stopped both in

SOLONIA MEETS A FAMILY OF PUPPETEERS
Solonia feels alienated and alone. Not because she is, most of the young students
at the college want to be friends with her. She seems to them the kind of rebel spirit
that growing people take interest in, and even though she is appears taciturn, and at
times, downright brutish, this makes her all the more appealing, for she feels like
they do. Besides she is handsome and well poised, and has that expression of wit,
without speaking that makes her peers curious to know her thoughts. But it no act,
she prefers alienation, and on one or more occasion let it be known by way of terse
words in reaction to a kind hello or intentional chance meeting. But this is not her true
nature, and she chides herself in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She even begins to make friends with her class mates. This all shows in her letter
home to her mother Mia who can tell right away. Her mother encourages her

I m so proud that you are becoming comfortable with your surroundings. Your father
misses you terribly and has often threaten to fetch you back on horse back, can you
imagine that. And of course I miss you as well. But what comforts me is the young
educated lady I will embrace when you return home.
I told you you would adjust, its all part of growing up... I m so happy for you. And
no, I ve never seen a puppet play, but Rome, what I can remember as a young girl
myself, is full of all sorts of curious and wonderful things. Well, work extra hard at
your books, listen to your instructors and respect your classmates. You are doing
well, it won t be long before your father and I come to fetch you home at semester
break, that is, if Callus doesn t go out of his mind first, and decides to recapture you
like some god gone mad. Never forget to write...

How To Conclude A Persuasive Essay

  • 1. How To Conclude A Persuasive Essay Writing an essay on the topic "How To Conclude A Persuasive Essay" can be quite challenging, requiring a careful balance of summarizing key points, reinforcing the thesis, and leaving a lasting impression on the reader. Crafting an effective conclusion involves more than just rephrasing the introduction; it requires a thoughtful synthesis of the main arguments presented throughout the essay. One of the difficulties lies in avoiding redundancy while still emphasizing the significance of the persuasive elements introduced in the body paragraphs. The conclusion should not merely repeat what has already been said but rather provide a fresh perspective or a call to action that resonates with the reader. Moreover, striking the right tone is crucial. The conclusion should be persuasive in itself, leaving a lasting impact on the reader's mind. This necessitates a careful selection of words and phrases to evoke the desired emotional response, whether it be a sense of urgency, empathy, or a shared commitment to the cause. Additionally, crafting a memorable conclusion requires a deep understanding of the target audience. Different readers may respond to different appeals, so tailoring the conclusion to resonate with the intended audience is a delicate yet essential task. In conclusion, writing an effective conclusion for a persuasive essay demands a combination of analytical skills, creativity, and a nuanced understanding of rhetorical strategies. It is a task that goes beyond mere summarization and requires the ability to leave a lasting impression that reinforces the essay's overall argument. What are the difference between Wal Mart and Target that make consumers pick one over the other? Both The chain stores have many similar and difference when concerning to prices, quality, and quantity. In this essay I will talk about why people chose to shop at one than the other or do they shop at both. Do you go to Walmart for certain things and go to target for the other? Walmart has about 9,600 retails around the world it s the World s 18th largest public corporation. It is also the biggest private employer in the world with over 2 million employees, and is the largest retailer in the world. Walmart is a much bigger brand than Target as ... When concerning savings I would have to say both are winners and sometimes losers in that department, and I say that because many times Walmart and target brands are not that much cheaper than the name brands and when it to regular brands being marked down like big toys or bikes you can really find a better deal at mom and pop stores. It really depends what you re looking for when you re looking for a good deal, its best to check the sales ad every Sunday and check between Target and Walmart. Both stores normally have similar items in their sales ad at the same time for different occasions like Christmas and valentine for example, that s when you know which stores has the better deal on savings. I do most of my grocery shopping at Walmart because I notice to big difference when shopping elsewhere, it s only a select items that I can t get at Walmart that when I have to go somewhere else. I mainly shop at target for clothes and household items they have very go styles and good quality when it comes to that department. Walmart and Target are good companies when concerning savings in general, if you are really a penny pincher you have to know which place is best to shop at for the right items. I really have to say it really depends on how the consumer wants to shop. Some like to shop at a clean and helpful friendly place and some people don t care that much on

Balmy evenings were spent strolling along the seashore, occasionally finding some secluded cove where they could make love undisturbed, or sometimes the couple would just gaze up at the clear night sky as they lay down together on the sands. On one occasion two days before the end of their holiday Amy tried to count the stars. You ll never do it, said Clare, there are more stars in heaven than all the grains of sand on all the world s beaches. Clever Clogs who told you that? It was my Uncle Bernard. It began to rain rather suddenly and Amy, wondering where Clare had disappeared, was about to go and look for her, when she appeared at that moment, soaked to the skin. What on earth were you doing all that time? she said curiously. Were you praying for the rain to stop? It says here that this temple is supposed to be dedicated to Apollo the Sun God she laughed, waving her guide book in the air. Oh, no, it wasn t that particular deity I was praying to, Clare said with a secretive smile. On another lazy afternoon by the pool, Clare, lounging beneath a sunshade, composed a short poem in blank verse. She felt that writing rhyming verse was sometimes too arduous a task. The poem was, as were all her poems, written for Rachel. She scribbled it down on the back of a postcard; deliberating afterwards whether to actually send it, even sticking a stamp on it and writing Rachel s address underneath: Forsaken You have forsaken me; I, who have loved you. But you will never admit to it. You just say I m busy when I call, In the forlorn hope that one day, You can find it in your heart to forgive. Was my love a crime for which I shall be eternally punished? Should I say something, lie to you perhaps? Deny my love, tell you it was all a dreadful mistake, And can I have our friendship back? Grovel at your feet and say I m not a lesbian. The long leisurely days on the sun kissed isle passed rapidly and Clare forgot about the postcard
  • 4. What Are The Challenges Of Benjamin Franklin s Life Early in Benjamin Franklins life, he faced a big challenge that led him to make choices to shape up his influencing character. It shows us that he had to work hard from an early age. This is a big challenge for him because he had to work from an early age along with becoming better academically. Growing up in a big familywith so many siblings, he had to take care of himself. His father Josiah worked in a soap factory, along with making candles. Benjamin worked with his father until he was twelve years old, until he started to despise working with his father which made his father look for alternative jobs. Knowing Benjamin and his interest in education and books, his father suggested he worked for his older bother James, who was a printer. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In return, all James did was slander Benjamin s name throughout the community so he wouldn t be able to find work anywhere else. This was a big challenge for Benjamin because not only did he have a bad name that lasted quite a long time but he also had to force himself to move to distant places like New York and Pennsylvania . He had to travel under dangerous conditions across seas to find another job. Also another challenge Benjamin faced after leaving his fathers job, was that he couldn t find a long stable and suitable job for himself. He always faced problems at every new job he joined. On his way to New York, Benjamin meets Bradford, who was not able to offer him any jobs. But he refers Benjamin to his son Andrew who was a printer in Pennsylvania. When Benjamin gets to Pennsylvania, Andrew did not have a job to offer him. Then Andrew refers him to go work for Keimer, who is also another printer. Although Keimer gave Benjamin work, but it doesn t last long. He later stops living with Keimer and ends up leaving the job. From these events in his life we are able to see the cycle and pattern, and he might face similar challenges in the future. Benjamin gets pushed around from places to places to find a jobs with very few people recognizing his ability and passion to write, and how much of an intellectual, he was. He wasn t able to save up his money due

Simple chants allowed the whole congregation to participate, and some could easily reach back before Gregory, perhaps even to the music of the synagogue. More complex are the antiphons for lauds and vespers. Still, they are not too difficult for a monastic community with members of varying skills. The O antiphons for Advent belong to this second group. Finally, solo cantors or small groups of trained musicians would sing the complex or melismatic chants for the propers of the Mass. When you re 18 and have a high school diploma in your hand, people tend to see you as a piece of molding clay. Your friends and family can t resist telling you what you should do and how you should do it. They also never fail to pile on the questions. Not having the answers to such seemingly simple questions like, What do you want to be? Where do you want to go? How are you going to do it? can make a young, ambitious person question herself. But the reality was, I just did not know yet. I considered becoming a business manager, a dental hygienist, an accountant, a nurse. Whether they want it legalized or don t want anything to do with it, it s safe to assume that this topic is rather controversial in our society. In the debate titled Doctor Assisted SuicideIs Unethical and Dangerous written by Ira Byock at the New York Times, he states, Legalizing assisted suicide fixes nothing. The principle that doctors must not kill patients stands. Two moral wrongs don t make a right (Byock, 2015). If there is no possible route of treatment for a patient, it should be allowed for the doctors to give the okay if the patient doesn t want to harm themselves or their families in the months or years of trauma that would come with their terminal illnesses. For patients, it is nothing but pain and suffering. As stated earlier: If we can do it to our animals, isn t it fair that we can do it for ourselves as well? Countless millions of tiny creatures and plants lived in these seas. When they died they sank to the bottom, and as the years passed more and more piled up on the sea bed. Capital Punishment Is The Sanctioned Practice Committee Name: 6th legal Committee Topic: Capital Punishment Country Name: Nigeria BRIEF BACKGROUND OF THE TOPIC Capital Punishment is the sanctioned practice that puts someone to death in response to crimes. There are many and varied types of execution used around the world today, including: beheading, electrocution, hanging, lethal injection, shooting in the back of the head, and by firing squad. People have been working to end executions since 1977, when only 16 countries had abolished the death penalty in law or practice. Today, the number has risen to 140 nearly two thirds of countries around the world. Nearly 90% of these happened in just three countries: Iran, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. But these figures exclude China, where numbers remain a state secret. Many countries around the world continue to hide their practices of capital punishment, for example Iran continues to execute juvenile offenders those aged under 18 at the time of the alleged crime in violation of international law. Along with Maldives and Pakistan, it also sentenced juvenile offenders to death in 2015. Countries continued to flout other aspects of international law, putting to death people with mental or intellectual disabilities, as well as those charged with non lethal crimes. Apart from drug related offences, people were executed for crimes such as adultery, blasphemy, corruption, kidnapping and questioning the leader s policies . The United States is currently the only industrialized country that has no universal health care. Some reasons why people might want it is because it gives everyone coverage as long as you are a citizen of that country. Giving out prescriptions in a hospital could also be effected. Patients vital medicine could be mixed up with someone else s and cause even more harm. The wait time in a hospital for an operation is also effected by over population. In the United States there is already about a 2 hour wait time in each hospital that you go to (Mortal Peril). Adding a universal health care system would only cause that time to increase. There are some cases where the operation cannot be delayed because of excessive bleeding or a lady about to give birth. Both of these examples need to be treated within a certain amount of time or the patient could possibly die. Valsalva is a forceful exhalation, like one might do if their ears are plugged. While performing a tilt table test, the doctor will record the patient s blood pressure at a 70 degree tilt using a motorized bed. The results are considered abnormal if there is a neurally mediated response like a sudden onset of hypotension (very low blood pressure), bradycardia (very slow heartbeat), or both when the patient is kept in the upright position which is the most common abnormality. The doctor will also monitor if there is positional orthostatic tachycardia or dysautonomia, which is a gradual decrease in blood pressure with little or no change in heart rate while moving from a lying down position to an upright position.. The tilt table s main purpose is to confirm autonomic dysfunction. Autonomic function is the term used to describe the processes in our body that we do not control ourselves, like blood pressure, heart rate, and digestion. The symbolism of the plant in A Raisin in the Sun The symbolism of the plant in A Raisin in the Sun One might ask how the scientific facts of the functional purpose of a plant would connect to a literary piece, especially the well known play, A Raisin in the Sun, written by Lorraine Hansberry. The plant in the text symbolizes the foundation for the family, honest hope, and Mama s dreams. Symbolism is not a definition of an item, but represents something specific other than itself. Much like Mama s plant, it represents many meaningful ideas with supportive evidence throughout the text. The plant standing alone may seem like a generic addition to the setting of the Younger household, but when it is observed in a deeper analytical approach; the symbolism of it in itself holds such ... When one imagines a stem of any plant, whether it is a large tree in a forest, or a small plant in a windowsill, the same illusion and symbolism comes to mind. The symbolic nature that a stem holds up heavy branches above qualifies as strength and stability. Mama is not solely one part of this plant, but all parts in different contexts. The lack of light that the plant gets lessens the chances of its survival, but the neither plant nor Mama give up. Discussing about her children and they tempers, Mama then addresses that if her little old plant don t get more sun than it s been getting it ain t never going to see spring again (Act 1, scene 1, 40). The light symbolizes the energy the plant needs in order to grow, and her family desperately needs the same. Mama knows that her family needs a shot of hope to have any chance at happiness. The lack of light on her plant is much like the lack of hope within her family. Although there is negativity, she stands tall, much like a stem to continue moving forward towards their dreams. Hope is a strong word that I believe is the only thing greater than fear. Mama and the Younger family hold onto that little bit of hope to get to where the need to go. Although each one of these poets is highly successful and influential in the Romantic Movement, each has experienced bouts of dejection, loneliness, and disillusionment with reality. However, this melancholy seems different from cases I have encountered in the past. Strangely, none of these clients show symptoms of the excessive black bile that typically associated with melancholy such as apathy, lack of motivation, and hopelessness (Brady, Haapala). In fact, while all of these clients experience melancholic thoughts, these emotions appear to be more complex than depression as they allow the pleasures of deep reflection and often lead to feelings of sublime joy and inspiration. Instead of suffering from a clinical form of melancholy or depression, these clients appear to be experiencing a complex emotion of joypain which they believe has the capacity to reveal the infinite powers of the self or the imagination (Murray, 722). Yet, while all of these poets seem to believe in the importance of melancholy as inspiration for their work, each of these poets also seems to express this emotion in different ways. While one of these poets, Mr. William Wordsworth, often turns his negative ruminations into positive reflections on nature and memory, Mr. Coleridge instead experiences deeper melancholic moments that he cannot dispel quite so easily. Many factors go into reaching these goals such as resistant training, genetics, mental will power and nutrition. While all of these factors are important to a bodybuilder, nutrition seems to be one of the most important, most researched and most tested and manipulated branch of the bodybuilders lifestyle. Specifically, the effects of protein on a bodybuilder, the ideal macronutrient ratios (carbs, fat, and protein) for fat loss and muscle maintenance. and nutrition s effect on resistance training recovery have been studies to further optimize a bodybuilders physique. The first thing I saw was the blueberry cotton candy clouds, sleekly gliding over Jawbreaker Island. The water surrounding the mammoth sized marshmallows, chocolates, and jawbreakers that formed the island, was a concoction of blue raspberry and green lime kool aid. My ship landed on an unwrapped

The theory was first put forward by a Canadian American sociologist Erving Goffman. Media framing, to put it bluntly, is a term that points to a presence of a certain bias in any media outlets output. All choices made in a newsroom collectively form the frame through which media decides to show the world to the audiences. Everything matters: Covering one event and ignoring another, covering one event more than the other, deciding what words to use to cover an event, what photographs or video clips to include, whom to give a voice, etc. At the same time, framing theory goes far beyond newsroom policies. Framing is not necessarily a delibirate choice. Journalists themselves look at the world through frames: their education, upbringing, gender, ethnical background, knowledge of the issue, and so on. Audience members apply their own frames as well, not just to media content, but to everything they hear and see. In 1993 Entman employed Framing theory approach to analyze the coverage of... Before modern day humans or Homo sapiens sapiens as we are scientifically known as, existed a similar yet less developed Homo genus named Homo erectus/ Homo ergaster. Evidence of these species dates back to over 1.9 million years ago and up to as recently as 70,000 years ago in which the evidence can be found in Africa, Europe and Asia. In this essay I will firstly provide a general timeline, providing key dates and phases of evolution. The Homo habilis species was the first in the Homo genus and is believed to have initially developed 2.8 mya (million years ago) in East Africa before becoming extinct 1.5 mya. This occurred during the Lower Paleolithic period (2.7 mya 200 kya) in which the very first stone tools were created and mastered named the Oldowan stone industry. Ways Of Seeing By John Berger Rebecca Morin Professor Foster English Composition 10th, December, 2015 Ways of Seeing by John Berger is a set of essays used to explain different techniques used in oil paintings, advertisements, and the way people look at things differently from one another. The abstract image Altera Pars by Wojciech Grzanka is a part of his surreal photo manipulation series called It s All In My Head . In this image a woman clearly with two sets of arms shows that she is control of how and what she feels. Her attire shows mixed feelings on how she wants to be looked at. She is wearing a dress that fades away towards the bottom and underneath she is wearing pants. She stands comfortably in a room that is grungy and dirty. Women and men should not be condemned to live up to society s expectations of what is right and wrong. The third chapter in Ways of Seeing focuses on the idea that women and men have a different social presence. A mans presence is supposed to represent how much power he has. The more power a man has the more grand and important he seems to other people. It represents what he can do to people and for people. A woman s presence is represented by how she views herself and what she is willing to deal with from other people. She is also defined by her clothes, her actions, opinions, and what or who she is surrounded by. She has to act as if she was two different people, she is to observe herself and pay attention to the presentation of herself as other people do. Their

The most important fact that was overlooked in class was the true nature of Mirabell and Millamant s relationship. One question never broached in discussion was, why all the plotting in the first place? If Mirabell truly loved Millamant like he claimed, why did he need to fight so hard to get the money she was expecting from her aunt? There s no evident reason why they couldn t have lived without such money or her aunt s blessing and yet it seems as if Mirabell practically refuses to marry Millamant without her inheritance. Millamant, the female and again the submissive one, goes along with her beloved s scheming because she loves him and will do whatever it takes to get him to marry her. Millamant, the man, uses his dominance to get her to agree because it seems he will only marry her if he gets her money as well. Physics Of Light And Light Through the fields incorporating the science of light, astronomers use factors such as wavelengths to interpret stars temperature, heat, distance, size, mass, density, etc. To obtain all of this information certain light gathering instruments must be used. These instruments include telescopes. To record this information spectrographs are also mainly used to record the spectrum and dispersion of light. In light there are different waves and particles. Light is made up of electric and magnetic fields. Due to this fact, light is an example of electromagnetic radiation, it is the changing of these fields to travel through space shifting energy maneuvering from one area to another. Since light is an electromagnetic wave, each one has a certain wavelength. Telescopes help us to view the visible light of the electromagnetic spectrum. Most of the electromagnetic spectrum, such as infrared, x rays, ultraviolet, and gamma rays, don t reach earth s surface to be examined. A telescope in space, above the atmosphere, however, is said to be diffraction limited. Since the speed of light is constant a wavelength of radiation of a star can be seen as its frequency. Frequency is recorded based on a certain number of waves emitted within a brief second. Optical Telescopes have two types: reflecting and refracting. In 1609, Galileo had developed the first telescope. From here on out, ideas back then of the geocentric solar system were finally put to rest through the use of the first

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I will get to that, said, Mr. Washington. You see the native Americans were not making fun of the new fighters, they were simply giving them a name that explained to the other native Americans who they were. The buffalo was tough, brave, and meant to be respected. So, therefore the black men were just like them and that s why they called them that. These strong brave men were not only fighters but they also had other jobs too. They had way more responsibility then the white fighters. The Buffalo Soldiers had to herd cattle, escort settlers, and railroad crews. They also, had to set up camp for the white armies and make roads to travel on, but one of the greatest they did was they fought in the civil war. They did a lot more than what we give credit to them. The buffalo soldiers have been forgotten throughout history and some don t even know who they are. These men are one of the greatest in African American history because they helped pave the way for all equality and freedom for you and me. Now kids you see how important the buffalo soiders are, said Mr. Washington. Yes, said, all the children. I didn t know who the Buffalo soldiers are at first and now I do, and I will always be thankful to what they did and helped accomplish for our country . Said Lucy. Yep, that s right . Said Mr.

One of his most famous plays that tends to be memorable to most people is Oedipus the king because Oedipus is an obvlious ignorant king who tries to blame everyone in his circle and soon realizes he s the killer, and runs away from all of the chaos. In the short article, written by Bernard Knox it relates to Oedipusthe king because of how civilization is like in the city of Thebes and how there is conflicts within and outside the kingdom. Next, when Oedipus reveals the reason why people are dying in his city he begins to start drama within and outside the kingdom. Oedipus discovers the original king name Laius has been killed and this is why many incidents among the city has been happening. Oedipus is very determined to get to the bottom of this horrific incident and execute who is responsible for the previous king s murder. He began to blame people in his kingdom like Ceron and the blind prophet Tiresias. In the story, Tiresias says to Oedipus when the truth is only pain to him who sees! I knew it well, but I put it from my mind, else I never would have come. This explains that Tiresias knows the truth about the murder of king and that people in the palace in fact know the truth except him. As for the golf industry there is the issue of everybody wanting to hit the ball farther, and the golf companies keep putting out new clubs that allow this to be possible. So I really think that the golf companies will continue to hover around the upper limit COR of .83 for drivers because there is still a really high demand for drivers that hit the ball a long way. For pole vaulting I see no issue in the near future. It will be exciting to see the new advances made to the poles and to see how high the athletes can get. As for the new sciences in the three articles I really learned a lot. I learned what the trampoline effect was and how it ties into more than just one sport. I learned what the coefficient of restitution was and how it affects the flight of a golf ball. I also learned what strain energy was and how it applies to stored energy. But most importantly I think, is that I learned that without the understanding of physics none of these sports would be organized or be able to make the advances that it has over the years. When it comes down to it everybody is affected by physics in sports. If there are rules and regulations put on products then the producers are affected greatly. The consumers are always affected by what the producers put out for them to have. If they are educated on the physics of the sport then they can make the best possible decision when it comes to picking a product. This also
