The internet revenue earned by Marks and Spencer Group plc reached ВЈ 100 million in the year
2007 (Anon A, 2011). This strategic decision will also be discussed in more detail later in this
report. As a final significant event on the company timeline, in November 2009 it was announced
Marc Bolland would take over as Executive Chairman from Stuart Rose in early 2010.
M amp;S outlined their strategic plan between 2010 and 2015 and thus the strategy changes chosen
in this report will partly follow this.

Before the individual strategic changes are described and evaluated, it is necessary to fully
understand the definition of the term strategy and strategic management.
The flame of competition has changed from he smokey yellow to intense white heat. For
companies to survive and prosper they will have to have a vision, a mission and strategy (Johnson,

(No Women No war) The article No women no war was written by Pasi Loman , a post graduate
student from university of Nottingham. Loman discusses about the role of Greek women in
defending their cities and communities. The author attempts to clarify the assumptions made by
modern scholars or authors that women did not play a part in foreign military campaigns i.e. war.
Loman discusses about Greek women and their views, emotion and reaction based on warfare, the
impossible existence of amazons. The reason for the author making this an argument is because of
misjudgment even thou women have had an active role in war. The only side shown by most
researchers is when, women are either rejoicing for the victory of their soldiers or the mourning for
their country. But the authors makes a point to look at the facts about Greek women and if they
have been credited enough for their participation and support in war. Loman compares the contrasts

This Way for the Gas, Ladies and Gentlemen by Tadeusz Borowski, published in 1959, is a short
story about a concentration camp prisoner s experience working on Canada, the group of
inmates responsible for helping unload the incoming prisoner transports. The narrator bares
witness to many atrocities throughout the story, which are made more impactful to the reader
through Borowski s use of impactful dialogue, figurative language, casual and matter of fact
tone, and repetition. These literary elements allow Borowski to draw the reader in more than he

answers come from questions that were once asked. Questioning can influence people s decisions
to act in certain ways and determine how they live, and people s lives change the world. The Man
in the High Castle, written by Philip K Dick, follows a full cast of characters from an endangered
Jewish man named Frank Frink to a high up Japanese man named Mr. Tagomi. The book takes
place in a world after World War Two, but one very different from present time, a world where
Germany and Japan, along with the other Axis powers, won the war. The planet is overcome
with racism and distrust. Jewish people are killed every day and the ones still alive are forced
into hiding and change their names. Both men live very different lives, Frink is in hiding as a Jew
while Tagomi is a wealthy antique seller. The one thing they have in common is the I Ching, a
highly regarded oracle of sorts. It predicts the future and provides advice along with it; and
everyone follows that advice no matter what they are told. They do this partially because after
the Axis powers won the war, every person was required to have an I Ching in their home. This
caused the residents to become reliant on the oracle for their every need. The I Ching provides

As Dante, the pilgrim, makes his way through the second circle of hell in Canto V of Dante s
Inferno, he comes across the lustful. Lust is a very strong sexual desire. Having the desire to
have sex is not a sin, but it becomes sinful when the desire is defected. This means, if the sexual
desire is out of context such as desiring another married man or woman, it then becomes a sin. In
Dante s Inferno, Francesca da Riminitells a story of her and Paolo Malatesta and how lust and
adultery lead to their deaths. For the first time in Hell, Dante feels pity for a soul and I believe he
reacts this way to her story because he puts himself in their shoes and feels their pain. Dante
empathizes with Francesca because this is now her eternal fate.
While making their way through, Dante asks Virgil to speak with the two doves who seem to be
left by themselves. They are Francesca and Paolo. Francesca beings to tell Dante why they are
there in Hell. Francesca, was married to Giovanni Malatesta when she and his brother, Paolo,
were reading Lancelot and shared a kiss because the words of the book set the mood. While
kissing, her husband, his brother, Giovanni walked in and killed the two. Before Francesca finishes
the story, Dante begins to cry because he is so sympathetic to the lovers.
Then I turned to them again to speak and I begun: Francesca, your torments make me weep for
grief and pity, but tell me, in that season of sweet sighs, how and by what signs did Love acquaint
you with your hesitant desire? (Canto 5.115 120). Dante expresses this to show how sorry for her

Francesca speaks in my opinion is someone of charismatic. She tells Dante the story in a way she

Abstract The gram negative bacteria Serratia marcescens has gained attention in recent years for its
tendency to cause nosocomial infections in humans, as well as its development of antibiotic
resistance. Antibiotic resistance in a bacterium that is harmful to humans can be concerning as it
can result in infections that are difficult to treat. In order to find out more about the growing
antibiotic resistance of S. marcescens, this experiment used the disc diffusion method to test the
susceptibility of S. marcescens to two varieties of antibiotics that were known to have success
against some gram negative bacterium: streptomycin and ampicillin. These antibiotics were,
respectively, an aminoglycoside and a beta lactam. The experiment tested which of the two that S.
marcescens had developed more of a resistance to. The zones of inhibition of the discs were
significantly larger for discs treated with streptomycin compared to discs treated with ampicillin.
This led to the conclusion that S. marcescens is less resistant to streptomycin than to ampicillin.

I believe my time management was extremely successful because I was able to adjust my
original plans to fit the time I had remaining. As stated previously, I had planned on designing 3
final products, a 3d model, a virtual 3d model, as well as a drawing. As the year progressed I had

l Ve always had an interest in Celtic culture. I love the traditional clothing and dancing, but my
favorite part has always been the symbolism and beauty of Celtic Knots. I wondered where the
knots originated and how they were created so symmetrically, which led me to the mathematical
study of knot theory. So my question now is, How has the knot theoryin mathematics influenced and
shaped the tradition of Celtic Knots? Knots in the real world are easy to define and see, such as
tying a shoelace or a rope, but knots in the mathematical world are a bit different. These knots are
joined at the end, making them one continuous line, unable to be pulled apart or untied. They can
be described in mathematical terms as a circle that has been embedded in 3 D dimensional
Euclidean space but in a bit simpler language, a knotis created by putting a flat circle into 3 D
space; therefore making it 3 D. You can not just pull the circle up; that would create a cylinder,
and you can not just round it out; this would create a sphere. You must twist it until it intertwines,
thus creating a knot. Knots can be described in many different ways. For example; a common
