An Analysis of Ford s Career Website
An Analysis of Ford s Career Website
Introduction
Communicating human resource potentials to the general public might not be at the forefront of most
human resources managers and personnel, but in the age of computer and Internet based networking
the need to present an informative and effective face to the general public should be a concern for the
human resources department at every major firm. Websites are now the expected means by which
potential applicants, recruiters and job placement specialists, and other interested parties can learn
about human resources initiatives at various companies. Though these public career websites or
webpages are not a part of the traditional human resources information system, they must incorporate
much of the same architecture and should provide a decent level of transparency into the company s
human resources workings (Kavanagh at el, 2011). The following pages present a brief analysis of
Ford Motor Company s career website as an illustration of these larger principles.
Site Summary Ford Motor Company s career website is largely devoted to photographs and
accompanying headlines for news and human interest stories regarding the company s human
resources activities (Ford, 2012). There are also clear sections for job seekers and a variety of other
navigable elements on the page, with the homepage serving exclusively as a gateway to all of the
other sections of the career website (Ford, 2012). This presentation make it initially

The Thirst Project
It was the summer of 2008 in southern California when a mere eight college students were exposed to
the true horrors of the global water crisis. After they learned that 1.1 billion people were suffering
from a serious lack of safe and clean drinking water, these college students had raised an astounding
$1,700 on their own. They had been able to raise a good amount of money for a community to have
safe and clean drinking water. What more could they do? However, schools began to reach out to these
eight college students. That was when they realized that there were so many organizations that spoke
and helped with the water crisis, yet none of them were targeted towards the youth. One of the most
important agendas of the Thirst Project was

Nanapush s Tracks Analysis
Nanapush is one of two narrators in Tracks. He is a Native American and tribal elder. Because of this,
he tends to be traditional male. However, he sometimes reveals his femininity. This paper explains
Nanapush s both traditional male role and feminine role in Tracks. Nanapush represents a man of the
old generation in this book. He is somewhat patriarchal, dislike a change. In one word, he adhere to
the olds; he knews how to make the old medicine, knew the old ways of hunting, and paid attention to
the tribe s survival. Generally, he took a role of traditional old male character in this book. However,
Nanapush also has a woman like characteristic. He rescued Fleur in the middle of winter and nurse
her. After that, he adopted Fleur and raised

What Is The Purpose Of The Narrative Once Upon A Time
Humans tell stories to themselves and others as a means of making sense of their world and as a way
to promote learning and spread information, or to simply entertain themselves. Completed stories
show evidence of two main parts: an underlying structure
(how the story is organized) that contains the story s intrinsic meaning and, then, there is a lesser
meaning, which is the way the story s structure is presented in the words and symbols, including
metaphors. Although the events that compose a story (plot) may not happen in a sequential order, it is
important for people or a culture to create a story in such a way that it will construct their reality and
give meaning to their subjective experience. Thus, The Narrative ... Show more content on

Once upon a time there was an evening where the winds were strong and the streets were lonely and a
mother attempted to put her new infant to sleep. Soon after leaving the nursery, there was a sudden
upheaval in the household coming out of the baby s room. The mother was puzzled and alarmed by
her infant s outcry. Needing to soothe her baby, the mother took her child to the closest pharmacy that
was open 24hours a day. When they arrived, mother stumbled upon a young man who was wise, way
before his age. With ease, he guided the frantic mother into a long aisle. There, the anguished mother
found herself unable to make sense of what was around her because there was just so much from
which to choose and far too many aisles to wander through with a crying child. Once again, the man
diligently directed her, this time to an unknown product. The wise man, faded into the background, as
the mother stepped forward and looked with doubt and curiosity at this strange and mysterious
product. The mom s eyes settle on a visual metaphor that she found on this obscure product. The
mother saw on the blue box a female figure holding an infant in her arms, while she gracefully held
the infant s head with the palm of her right hand. The tired mother noticed that the female figure
pictured on the box was blissfully looking at the sleeping

My Trip To Peachland Essay
It s always the same reaction when I meet someone not familiar with Peachland when I tell them I live
there. They are always saying things such as that s not a real place or I don t fool that easy and I like to
go as far as adding that the town next to it is called Summerland, but who couldn t laugh. I lived in the
quaint town of Peachland my whole life, I wish I could say I was born there but it s too full of
orchards mostly peaches to build a hospital so my Mum had to go to Kelowna. When I did the move
from Peachland of a whooping population of 5,000 three months ago to North Vancouver with 16
times the people it was quite the change.
I was privileged enough to have done my kindergarten and grade one at the now historic Primary
School which closed when after my grade one year due to bat infestation, sounds safe. I then moved
on to Peachland Elementary school where young Kitty wasn t seen as the brightest bulb in the box. In
grade 6 when graduation on to middle school and a new town of Westbank where the school was they
told me I was going to struggle because of my ADHD. I look at that diagnostic and somewhat false
and hurtful, because it made it seem like they had no lust to make me succeed. As the end of 7th grade

What Is The Relationship Between The Gods And The Greek Gods
In Homer s The Odyssey, we see many comparisons of the relationships between the great Greek gods
and the mortals that lay below them. We can use many words to compare the two s relationship;
mutual, parent and childlike, and a sense of early government ruling over its people. Although, what
we see between the Greek gods and mortals is the gods playing the role of a somewhat metaphysical
guide through the story we still have this confliction of whether they are friends, foe s, or neither. We
will be diving deeper into this matter in the following paragraphs below to look at how the gods
themselves reflect the image of a guide for the mortals or even a temporary enemy, how they used
their powers to help the mortals, and with this role the conflicts and agreements that are created
between the two. As said above, in Homer s The Odyssey we see many gods who are helpful to
Odysseus on his epic journey. To be more specific we see Athena the goddess of wisdom the most
taking an interest in protecting and helping Odysseus along his journey. We see the beginning of her
lending out her hand to him when she complains to her father Zeus in front of the other gods on Mt.
Olympus that Odysseus is being held captive on Calypso s island. This is seen when she says,
Remember him, a godly king as kind as a father. / No, he s still languishing on that island, detained /
Against his will by that nymph Calypso. / No way in the world for him to get back to his land (Homer
5. 14 17). When

Lord Of The Flies
Day One We are stranded on an island, or at least I am pretty sure it is an island. Ralph was the first
person I found after awakening on the beach. We found a conch shell and used it to summon all the
other boys from the plane. The boys and I voted for Ralph to be our chief. We chose Jack Merridew
and his choir to be the hunters. I am very upset with Ralph, he told all the boys that my name was
Piggy, even after I told him not to. I am sure I ll forgive him soon because for my whole life I have
been the subject of jokes, and I have learned to live with it. I already do not like Jack Merridew, and I
know he does not like me. I am glad Ralph is chief and not Jack. Ralph, Simon, and Jack went to
explore the island without me. My job was to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fire grew out of control, and the kid with a scar on his face disappeared. He was just an innocent
kid who was anxious about some beastie. Incidents like that make me worry about getting off this
island. Ralph reassured us there is no islands undiscovered, and that it is just a matter of waiting to be
found. I am just not so sure about that. How can a person know and keep track of all the islands in the
world? Our chance of being saved is slim. If we do not have a signal fire and rules, I believe we do not
stand a chance in getting rescued. On a more positive note, I was finally useful today. The boys used
my specs to start the fire on the mountain. Although I could not help collect wood because of my
asthma, I at least was the one who enabled the fire to happen. Piggy Day Ten Jack and his hunters lost
our chance of being saved today. I have never felt this irritated before. I could be on my way home
right now but no, Jack and his hunters could not keep the fire going. They could not handle one simple
task. They were so caught up in the adrenaline of hunting a pig that nobody cared about returning
home. Jack s priorities need to be straightened out, but I do not want to be the one who does it. Jack
hates me and finds every opportunity to show it. I am so grateful for Simon. He gave me a piece of his
meat after Jack punched me in the stomach and broke my specs. Simon, unlike most of the boys on

Reasons For The LGBT Community To Serve Openly In The...
Why Should the LGBT Community Serve Openly? Why exactly should we allow the LGBT
community to serve openly in the military? There are many reasons that can, in the long run affect us
as a society. Why should we care about other people and the gender that they choose to be? When we
are at war and fighting for our country would that really matter ! These very reasons and many more
are what steer the LGBT community away from the military. The LGBT community should be able to
serve openly in the military because gender identity has nothing to do with physical ability, the ban is
an act of discrimination, and the American Constitution proposes a society based in inclusion not

Nivia Huskey will go without being recognized as a parent. If same sex couples are stationed in stated
that go against the act, they will not be given the same rights as men and women ( same sex couples )

mommy/daddy at heart, but because I love and choose to be with your other mommy/daddy legally i
am not represented as your parent , How could you do that, that child would be torn. Yes, they could

women are not happy, and the government is preventing them from being happy. Anyone will say if
you are happy why should anyone else s opinion matter? It should not, but because today s society is
so twisted in a manner that people feel as if everyone s opinion should matter so, can anyone truly be
happy. These women are not. This example goes well into my next point which is a very valid point,
but will it really matter in today s twisted society ? The LGBT community should be able to serve
openly in the military because the American Constitution proposes a society based on inclusion not
exclusion. Now that it is legal in all 50 states to be married to someone of the same sex, and some of
our perspectives have changed why have the military s standards not changed.

The Abstract Latent Factor ( Lf ) Models
 Abstract Latent factor (LF) models have proven to be accurate and efficient in extracting hidden
knowledge from high dimensional and sparse (HiDS) matrices. However, most
LF models fail to fulfill the non negativity constraints that reflect the non negative nature of industrial
data. Yet existing non negative LF models for HiDS matrices suffer from slow convergence leading to
considerable time cost. An alternating direction method based non negative latent factor (ANLF)
model decomposes a non negative optimization process into small sub tasks. It updates each LF non
negatively based on the latest state of those trained before, thereby achieving fast convergence and
maintaining high prediction accuracy and scalability. This paper ... Show more content on

Anti-Pashtun Influence
Anti Pashtun sentiment has also been rife amongst the Uzbek community. In the 1960s the Sitam e

group whose primary aim was to united non Pashtun to fight against Pashtun dominance. With the
Hazaras community hostility towards Pashtuns stems from persecution suffered from the time of King
Abdul Rahim Khan in the late 1800s, who systemically targeted and wiped out Hazara communities
throughout the country. Their persecution greatly increased during Taliban rule, when the leader of the
Islamic Unity Party, Abdul Ali Mazari, was thrown out of a plane to his death by members of a
Taliban, after he had gone to meet with group officials to discuss a power sharing agreement.
Furthermore, the Hazara minority s observance of Shia Islam in a Sunni Islam dominated state has

Social Attitudes In The Great Gatsby
I felt a haunting loneliness sometimes, and felt it in others young clerks in the dusk, wasting the most
poignant moments of night and life (Fitzgerald, p.xx). This is the feeling one might feel in their lives
no matter how much money they have. F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote The Great Gatsby to portray the
different social attitudes within the upper class. F. Scott Fitzgerald was born Francis Scott Key
Fitzgerald on September 24, 1896 in St. Paul, Minnesota. He was 29 years old when The Great Gatsby
was published on April 10, 1925. In The Great Gatsby, Fitzgerald sheds light on the different
personalities between the aged rich families and the modern rich families. An example of the
sophistication of Gatsby are the elaborate parties he throws for the people he invites, while on the
other hand, Tom and Daisy have a simple dinner with only a few people over. The emptiness one
might feel at any time in their life cannot be fulfilled with money but only with other friends
surrounding one. Gatsby is characterized as a very elaborate man sophisticated in his ways. He is
always seen throwing extravagant parties with only the best of the best belongings in his home. One
week ends his Rolls Royce became an omnibus, bearing parties to and from the city between nine in
the morning and long past midnight, while his station wagon scampered like a brisk yellow bug to
meet all trains. ( Melville, p.39). Nick explains the bizarre lifestyle that Gatsby had with all his parties.
Although, throughout Gatsby s life, the reader is able to see the emptiness he feels without Daisy. I,m
just going to wait here and see if he tries to bother her about that unpleasantness this afternoon. She s
locked herself into her room, and if he tries any brutality she s going to turn the light out and on again.
(Melville, p.144). Here, the reader recognizes the love Gatsby has for daisy. He is willing to wait all
night in order to be sure of her protection. Gatsby has called off all of his parties and fired all of his
servants just to spend time with daisy. In doing this, Gatsby shows great qualities that one should look
for in another person: love, loyalty, trust, and a kind heart. Unfortunately, these attributes led to
Gatsby s death,

Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck is novella that follows the relationship between George and
Lennie. George and Lennie are a traveling pair of workers which is unusual in the setting of the
novella for most men work alone. In the beginning of the book, the two are turning a new leaf by
getting a new job on a farm where they meet other workers like Slim, Curly, Carlson and etc. At the
end of the book, the workers are on a manhunt for Lennie when they find his dead body and George
near a clearing. Slim leads George away while Carlson looks at the two wondering what is wrong with
them. What really bothers the two men is the loss of George s companion which leaves him isolated

Altered States Of Consciousness
I did my project on a few examples of Altered States of consciousness. To begin with, Consciousness
defined as a state of being awake and aware of one s surroundings. Even when you re asleep you re
considered to be conscious. This is because you were still able to react to the world around you. For
example, in the morning you re either woken by your alarm clock or your mother. Either way you are
still able to react and wake up. When someone is unconscious that person cannot act or react normally
to the environment around them. An example would be either a coma or death. Now that we got

meditation. All methods share a common thread: they focus on a peaceful repetitive stimulus that is

Persepolis House Building
The magnificent palace complex at Persepolis was founded by Darius the Great around 518 B.C. More
than a century passed before it was finally completed. It was to be the seat of government for the
Achaemenian kings. The wealth of the Persian Empire was evident in its construction. The ruins are at
the base of Kuh i Rahmat (Mountain of Mercy) in the plain of Marv Dasht about 650 km south of the
present capital city of Teheran. An inscription carved on the face of the terrace shows that Darius the

The only access to the complex was located on its west side, and was made of a monumental staircase
(the Great Staircase). Although sometimes called the Apadana Palace, the building, constructed by
Darius I and Xerxes I, served as an audience hall, festivals site and for receptions by the kings. The
largest building is the Apadana, begun by Darius and finished by Xerxes. Thirteen of its original
seventy two columns still stand on the platform to which two monumental stairways give access. They

processions of representatives of twenty three nations of the Achaemenid Empire. The relief include
court notables, soldiers and guards, horses and chariots, delegates in their native attire, some
completely Persian in style, carry gifts as token of their loyalty to the king. The overall arrangement of
scenes seems repetitive, but there are differences in the designs of the clothing, hair styles, and beards
that give each person their own distinctive character and make their origins unmistakable. Stylized

Abstract
In order to visualize and conceptualize the affect of the contact angle on impact force, testing of four
different shapes and comparing the results was done. Conclusions were drawn on the affects of the
type of contact surface on the measured impact force. In analyzing these results, it was also be of
interest to calculate the theoretical force using a derivation of equations and comparing them to the
measured data. Doing so may allow for further understanding concerning the possible errors in
calculations or possible mis assumptions being made.
Because theoretical results and measured results did not agree within reasonable ... Show more content

This allows the theoretical data to further validate the measured data. Because the hemispherical shape
had error bars which did not overlap, the data corrections were made to that particular set of data.
Refer to Figures 5 and 6 to see how these error bars either did not overlap or came close to not
overlapping.
Notice in Figures 9 and 10 the comparisons in the before calculated force compared to that of the
corrected forces. Specific data on these corrections may be found in Tables 7 and 8 in the Appendix.

Conclusions and Recommendations
This experiment effectively showed that the resultant impact force acting on the different target shapes
changed depending on the shape, which is affected by the contact angle. Further analysis of the data
also showed that some beginning assumptions were incorrect, allowing insight on the reasoning for
incorrect data percentages. These were corrected via further derivations in the

The Feminization Of Poverty In The United States
The feminization of poverty is a phenomenon that stems from the gender biases and fixated gender
roles embedded in society. This occurrence is defined as the disproportionality in gender when relating
to the world s impoverished. Given that under capitalism class, race and sex issues are augmented the
global expansion of such an economic system should, in theory, result in an exacerbation of related
issues. Thus, it is critical to analyze the impact of an expanding capitalist structure on the lived
experiences of women, and in particular, women in the
Global South who occupy uniquely disadvantaged strata.

The Roaring Twenties Essay
The 1920s were an exciting and fascinating time in American history. An old Victorian nation had
transformed into a vibrant, modernized America. Often called The Roaring Twenties , this time
featured the famous slicked back hair, vibrant Flappers, and of course, marathon dances. From inflated
economics to unprecedented invention, forces collided to produce the most explosive decade of the
century.
The Roaring Twenties encapsulates a captivating story that began with the return of young soldiers
from the front of World War I. Those who had once courageously sacrificed their lives for America
came home. They came home to adopt a new, regenerated lifestyle. President Warren Harding had
inspired a resurgence of optimism and hope. So what ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By 1927, Henry Ford had sold approximately 15 million Model Ts. What had once been a rare luxury
had become part of everyday life. Furthermore, in the latter half of the 1920s, a Scottish engineer
named John Baird developed an innovative device at the Royal Institution in London. Within two
years, Baird became the first person to transmit images to and from London and New York. He
designed electrical recordings, the stereoscopic television, and even color television.
Nevertheless, not everyone benefited from the revolution of technology. America was on its way to
becoming a service economy. The use of machinery productivity increased while decreasing the
demand for manual labors. Furthermore the demand for food remained relatively the same. But as a
result, food prices and profits dropped. The small farmer lacked the capital to buy the necessary
equipment. Therefore he lost his viability and was sometimes tempted to merge with other farmers in
order to compete.
As the 1920s climaxed, there was an emergence of the confident face of femininity. Women gained
insight on their true womanhood and took on more unconventional lifestyles. For example, they
changed their fashion standards. What was once strict Victorian uniform transformed into a sleek,
trendy look. Hairstyles and clothing incrementally became shorter and more revealing. This led to the
birth of a new woman in 1926. She dressed provocatively, smoked cigarettes, and

Nourishment In Robinson Crusoe
Daniel Defoe s novel Robinson Crusoe reflects the most progressive, democratic ideas of the early
Enlightenment. Using the theme of the island, located out of contact with the community, Defoe
demonstrates Robinson s life as an example of the intrinsic value of inner freedom in social
development and the creation of material and spiritual base of a society. Transferring the early
Enlightenment ideas, Defoe shows the way Robinson, former Puritan mystic, comes to the complete
concept of the universe. Confessions of a protagonist demonstrate that reasonable Robinson makes
this possible after the conquest of nature, which the author describes not as physical development of
the island but the cognition of laws of nature and reasons of existence. ... Show more content on

While Defoe seems to shift between these two ideas of depiction of the setting, both hardships that
stimulate physical work and ideal circumstances for philosophical mental work lead to spiritual
transformation of the protagonist. As a result, striving for success of young, driven by the spirit of the
time Robinson transforms into the Robinson, who on the Island of Despair overcomes the difficulties
with great fortitude and returns home as an entrepreneur. Presented by Defoe, the evolution of the
consciousness of Robinson from desperate to optimistic insight gives reason to the Enlightenment
educational program of the improvement of a man and a society. Thus, the savage state of Nature in
which Man is threatened and challenged is the author s educational experiment, in which Man is self
nurtured. An experiment in forming spiritual maturity, moral strength of the personality through the
work. While the work is a forced, urgent need to survive on a desert island it does not bother hero as it

Class Conflict In The Outsiders
Have you ever had a simple feud between peers, or even close friends? Imagine if you had a fight over
social classes, would it be worse? S.E. Hinton, the author of the 1967 novel, The Outsiders, uses
unique characters, symbols, and hectic events to prove that class conflict is pointless, unwarranted,
and destructive. In the novel, fictional characters are brought to life by the author, as she connects and
compares their taxing lifestyle to that of the reader. Using 14 year old boy, Ponyboy Curtis who is a
greaser who has it fairly bad, living with only his brothers after his parents dies in a tragic car
accident, Hinton shows that it s tough all over, no matter your social status. Ponyboy can only rely on
Sodapop and Darry, and the rest of the gang. The author displays class conflict throughout the book,
by using the socs, or ,the rich kids with mustangs and madras, showing that this dispute, between the
greasers and socs, does not make life any easier. The Outsiders uncovers that blood, may not be
thicker than water, after all. Hinton created unique characters to display her overall theme of the book.
Ponyboy Curtis is the protagonist in The Outsiders. Hinton shows Pony as a young greaser who doesn
t use his head much, unless it is for books or movies. Although not much has happened in his life as a
greaser, a lot has happened to his fellow greasers. For example, Johnny Cade; the boy who had a
horrible home life, came searching for a gang to fill the hole where his family

America Never Was America Again By Langston Hughes
Has America ever been great, of the 239 years this influential country has been a country has it ever
been truly great and free? As Langston Hughes exclaimed, America never was America to me .
Learned Hand and Langston Hughes had differences on their thought on the topic of Liberty and
whether America is great. Hughes and Hands opinion of Liberty has changed the way the common
man reacts to racism and the way we perceive America s greatness.
America is arguably the most robust country and yet it also one of many countries where we are not
all free. In the poem Let America Be America Again Langston Hughes shows his opinion of America
and declared that America has never been great and never will be if there is varied equality among the
ethnics and their social classes. Learned Hand announced That spirit of an American which has never
been, and may never be; nay, which never will be except as the conscience and courage of Americas
create it , her he feels that America is only as good as the common people in it, therefore, Americas
future lies in our hands and the way we use it. Both Langston Hughes and Learned Hand presumed
that America has never been great yet, Hand is unsure on whether America has the potential to change
their ways but, Langston Hughes let out his emotions exclaiming America never was America to me,
and yet I swear this oath America will be! These two Americans have shown how they feel and believe
that we can only be a magnificent country if we believe

Olive Garden Public Relations
Public relations, also referred to a PR, represent an essential component of business, in which the
business interacts through various modes such as promotions, initiatives, and so forth with its
customer base, as well as, the potential new customers. Subsequently, according to Davis (2009), this
interaction permits the business, as well as, the public to intermingle in such a way to disseminate
information to the public, which possesses a newsworthy nature via media sources such as a trade
magazine or journal, the traditional radio or television networks, the newspaper, or the internet.
Hence, an effectual public relations program has the potential to not only maximize, as well as
increase sales, but also, enhance profitability by establishing a competitive advantage with relation to
business contenders. Therefore, an effective PR campaign accomplishes this goal by creating greater
visibility for the business, its products, and augmenting the credibility of the business, while,
attempting to neutralize potential crises, as they arise. Thus, public relation programs represent an

Descriptive Essay On French Bulldogs
French Bulldogs are amazing dogs, in my opinion, and there s lots to know about them! I ll be honest,
I don t really like dogs, and I m not a dog person. However, 2 years ago I got a French bulldog, and
she s one of the things I love most. That just shows how lovable these dogs are. Sometimes they re
silly looking, or have bad attitudes or behavior, and usually have a lot of problems, but they re still
amazing. I never used to like them, but after getting one, I love them! First of all, French bulldogs are
EXTREMLY expensive dogs, and can cost up to 2,5000 or more. It also depends on the color of the
dog. There are all kinds of different colors of Frenchies, like blue, cream, red, red and black mask, pie,
and plenty of others. Blue Frenchies, which are the most expensive, are gray and have blue tints to
their fur, and also have blue eyes. My dog is a cream, which are usually white, with cream brown
colors. There are many more colors, and too many to explain. I think the reason these dogs are so
popular and expensive is their appearance. Aside from being lovable, I think the appearance of the
French bulldog is a very important detail. Women usually like small dogs, right? Well, men usually
don t care for those tiny, girly looking dogs. However, French bulldogs are tiny dogs, but they re big,
muscular, and not girly. They are smaller than regular bulldogs, English bulldogs, and American
bulldogs. Although, they have very muscular bodies, so it works for everyone! They do

What is the importance of Catholic exorcism and Harijan possession rituals in today s society? Each
group of people still practices rituals of exorcism, and although there are some differences between
each practice, there are more similarities than variations. There is a sense of importance in the very
fact that exorcism and possession practices are still happening in the present day in America and India,
and they are strongly linked together despite rarely being a part of mainstream society. Each practice
involves ways of healing perceived problems for both groups of people and mirrors other issues within

In an online article from the Catholic Education Resource Center, author Paul Burnell interviews
exorcist Father James LeBar, who explains that people suffer the phenomena without actually being
possessed. An exorcism is primarily used for people who are possessed by the devil. Burnell also
interviews psychologist Father John Hampsch who credits the recent rise in people claiming to be
possessed to their involvement in the occult, with practices such as Ouija board or tarot cards or some
kind of New Age practice. The other form is through some kind of sin addiction such as alcohol, drugs
or pornography. For Catholics, there has been an increasing amount of claims to possession, while
priests have at the same time emphasized their doubts that most of these possessions are worthy of
actual exorcisms.
Within the Catholic community, there has been a change in the exorcism ritual in the past several
years that reflects the influence of dominant scientific thinking. According to an article titled Exorcism
Rite Reformed by Crista Kramer von Reisswitz, this ritual change was made public at a Vatican
conference in 1999 in which Cardinal Medina explained that exorcists must distinguish between the
truly possessed and those who are suffering from hysteria or mental illness (Kramer von Reisswitz).

Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, one of the most considerable festival for
Chinese which gains significance and centuries old. It is rooted in religious and cultural elements

It was first a legend born out of myth and fear which the monster called Nian was trying to kill and

Nian was known in Chinese as a synonymous with celebrations of Chinese New Year, and this is how
Chinese New Year celebration is born.
Being a Chinese, Chinese New Year means a lot to me which I also fully engaged in this festival
starting from the day I born. I think this cultural activity is important in consumer research, as it has
changed from a myth to festival throughout the years, making it falls within the idea of consumer

The practices that people do before, during and after Chinese New Year involve a lot of spending
leading this festival to falls within the idea of consumer fantasyland , for instance, making purchase
during the Chinese New Year big sale in stores, spending time walking through the Flower Markets
which offerings Chinese New Year related products, for example, New Year decorations.

How Does John Proctor Show Greed In The Crucible
Greed: the intense and selfish desire for something, greed is something that can control someone s
actions or personality. In the story The Crucibles Rev Parris let his greed take over his mind and other
choices during this period of time. Rev Parris was a merchant before he became a minister and it was
obvious that he still had a love for money. Instead of worrying and caring for his daughter who was
sick he was arguing with his members about his ministers salary . John Proctor didn t have much
respect for Rev Parris because when Parris came to Salem he wanted golden candlesticks instead of
the perfectly good ones they had. For twenty weeks he preached nothing but golden candlesticks until
he got them. Another example of Rev Parris s greed was when Abigail and Mary Warren stole Parris s
money from his strongbox, he seemed more worried about losing all of his money then his Abigail his
niece. When a man can forget his daughters sickness to argue his salary or use the podium to preach
for golden candlesticks there is an evident problem with greed for money in that person. ... Show more

The Vaccine Of Autism Connection
The Vaccine to Autism Connection
It is amazing how much Americans trust doctors and more shocking, vaccines. Vaccines are injections
we receive from the moment we are born and throughout our lives that are meant to keep our bodies
from contracting various. A baby born in a hospital today can be given up to six shots before the
mother is even in a place where she can conciously tell the doctor whether she is okay with that or not.
It can take years to become aware of, but the early exposure to the unnatural substances that make up
vaccines can lead to a disorder called autism. While many
Americans view vaccines positively for their adequate ability to prevent illness, the rise of autism in
the nation and its link to vaccines is reason enough to try to change our tactics for trying to stay
healthy.
Autism is a developmental disorder with symptoms including defects in coordination and motor skills,
visual disturbances, and immune suppression. What researchers like Larry Trivieri
Jr. have realized over the last decade is these symptoms are extremely similar to the effects of mercury
poisoning. Mercury makes up 50% of Thimersal, a preservative found in vaccines; The increases in
the occurrence of autism are closely linked to the widespread use of thimersalcontaining vaccines,
says Trivieri. While the possible link between autism and vaccines is clear, the Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention (CDC) claim there is no link but have yet to thoroughly investigate the issue

was frightening! There was something unsettling about the passages paving the way to the Gorg s

appearance of the trolls in Henson s 1986 film Labyrinth.
With a basic cut from adolescent Sarah advising her infant sibling Toby a bedtime story to a bunch of

The Sixties Between The Microgrooves Essay

Professor Sattler
American History II
17 March 2017
Research Paper Since the Constitution of the United States was written, Americans have practiced
their right to freedom of speech as a way to express their point of view on issues facing the country.
Over time, voicing one s opinion went from outspoken newspaper articles to large rallies, and during
the Vietnam War, music was a prevalent tool in aiding the protests. Allowing political messages to be
shared nationally, the music had touched the lives of the younger generation. Author Jerome L.

Initially, wars involving the United States were typically well supported by the people, but the
abhorrence towards the military s actions in Vietnam lead musical artists to stand in opposition to the
war, encouraging the anti war movement.
As the war persisted, not everyone s voice was being heard. To quickly spread the message to a wider
demographic, American musical artists incorporated political beliefs into their music. For example,
Jimi Hendrix wrote songs such as Machine Gun to show his disdain towards the war, but the biggest
statement he made was his performance at Woodstock. Creating his own interpretation of The Star
Spangled Banner , Hendrix would always be remembered as taking a stand against the political
leaders in charge of the United State s involvement in Vietnam. The effect Hendrix created is captured
by author Desmond Manderson as he explains the performance had interrogated the memory and
ideals of the United States ... explicitly contrasting old with new, patriotism with violence, and
victimhood with aggression (315). Also, the rock group The Doors contributed to the movement by
writing the song Unknown Soldier , which depicts the real tragedy of a soldier s fate. One of the most

The Boom And Bust Of The Housing Market Bubble
As a member of the Millennial s and as a student of economics, The Great Recession, the greatest
economic downturn we ve seen in 70 years is truly an intriguing topic. It is the first economic crisis
that many of my generation can truly say we lived through. With the burst of the housing bubble and
the failure of various financial institutions, the United States was dragged kicking and screaming from
the prosperous age of nearly uninterrupted economic growth since the early eighties, into an
unemployment rate of over 9% and a decline in Real GDP in the first time in decades. Years after the
end of the recession we still reel from its effects. How did the fiscal crisis begin in the first place?

This led to the recession of 81 82 but managed to get inflation under 5% from the high double digits it
was under Nixon at the cost of a rather high unemployment rate of 10%. Many argue that this and
other policies under the Reagan administration known as Reagonomics, were what led to the
economic prosperity that we enjoyed in the 90 s and 2000 s. Rather than discuss what caused the
economic growth of the era, we examine a few of the effects it had on markets, especially housing.
The family home has always been a major part of the American dream, but it had an even bigger role
in the Great Recession. Under legislative pressure banks eased up on a lot of the loans that they gave
out. According to Peicuti (2014), In the 2000s, the deregulation of the financial system and
development of the originate to distribute banking model led commercial banks to finance subprime
mortgages (p.7). It then goes on to lists several characteristics that these borrowers may have
including, relatively high default probability as evidenced by, for example, a credit bureau risk...
bankruptcy in the last five years... debt service to income ratio of 50 percent or greater (p.7). All of
this tells us the same story, these were risky loans to make. We ve learned from class that the interest
rate is an indicator of the amount of risk on an asset. These loans however were not properly assessed
for the amount of risk on them. In short, the banks had taken on more risk than they

Descartes Vs Newton
Sir Isaac Newton, Rene Descartes, and Galileo are three very important people who have carved out
many important milestones in scientific, mathematical, and philosophical history. Sir Isaac Newton
was a physicist and mathematician who played a huge role in the scientific revolution. Rene Descartes
was a both a philosopher and mathematician who later become deemed as the father of modern
philosophy. Lastly, Galileo Galilei was an engineer, physicist, mathematician, and philosopher who
also played a major role in the scientific revolution. Although these three men were monumental in
history, all three had similarities and differences within their works and inventions that they created
over time.
One similarity that all three men possessed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Galileo established the principle of inertia which coincides with Newton s first law that states, that an
object at rest stays at rest, and an object in motion stays in motion unless acted upon by an unbalanced
force. The difference, however, for the two men is that during the time that Galileo was around he was
persecuted and thrown in jail for his beliefs while Newton would be applauded for his findings.
Since Galileo was so much earlier than Descartes, and Newton his work was ridiculed more than the
other two. This was a difference from Descartes and Newton that is significant because even though
his finding were important people never fully grasped the realm of his work because he was unable to
speak up about findings. He was even thrown in jail and on house arrest because people did not agree
and did not want to hear what he had to say. Descartes and Newton were never condemned to the
extent that Galileo was.
Even though Descartes and Newton were both scholarly and knowledgeable in the field of science
they had different ideas on some things. During Newton s studies he placed alot of importance on
philosophical principles that would be the basis of experimental science, while Descartes in his
principles of philosophy determined that reason, rather than experimentation , would be the way to

didn t donate any money to the poor, and blew off his nephew about spending Christmas with them. In
the text it states that there is no wind as bare as Scrooge, this means he doesn t really care or doesn t
have many feelings.
The first ghost came when the clock pounded one. A horrid fusion among a child and an old man the
ghost opens the Scrooge s bed curtains. According to the text the spirit is very vivid and bright. So the
ghost takes Scrooge to his old school. According to the text Scrooge actually starts to laugh for the
first time at the appearance of him reading fantasy books. Consequently he wasn t outdoors, playing
with the other kids. The second place the ghost took Scrooge was where he and his sister were talking
about their father being sent away. From the reading of the first spirit Scrooge really likes the first
spirit for being very generous and thoughtful for taking Scrooge and showing him motivational parts
in his life. The ghost of Christmas past helped Scrooge learn that there is more in life other than being
morose all the time, there is amusement, family, bliss, and ambitious life to live. When Scrooge puts
his hand on the lock he heard an articulation call his name and commanded him to enter. He did as the
voice said. The enormous giant of Christmas present said look upon me. He had scarcely done so. The
giant family wanted Scrooge to stay for supper. Scrooge

Evil Character In Othello
It has been observed that there is diversity in the epic character of Othello and because of that various
behavioral and psychological swings are observed and found from act 3 and were encountered till act
5.
It has been perceived that the gullible character of Othello was transformed into the villainous monster
on the basis of his ensign Iago s evil speeches in act 3. Iago was considered as the most sinister villain
in Shakespeare s world as it is said,
Iago stands supreme among Shakespeare s evil character (A.C Bradley, 1992)
It s a commonly accepted notion, that, because Iago s insinuation, Othello s love was astray, which
depicts the frailty of Othello and his love. But it has been observed that Othello himself was
somewhere pre occupied ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thou dost mean something. I heard thee say even now, thou dpst mean something ....when Cassio left
my wife,, what did st not like...as if thou hadst shut up in thy brain some horrible conceit if thou dost
love me, show me your thoughts (Shakespeare, act 3, scene 3 p. 56)
The conversation In between Othello and Iago showed that Othello himself owned some suspicions
with regards to Desdemona before Iago s insinuations. It seems as he himself wants to hear the
disloyalty of Desdemona as it was not Iago who wants to make Othello think in such a manner but it
was Othello who wants Iago to speak of his wife s infidelity. In the other words it could be said that
there was pre exiting bud of jealousy in Othello s mind which is blossomed with the watering of Iago s
insinuations.
The hamartia of Othello was also encountered in at 3 where he has two major flaws first jealousy and
poor judgment. He found his ensign, the most loyal and trust worthy as he said, This hones creature
doubtless sees and knows more than he unfolds (Shakespeare, act 3, scene 3, p.57)
While on the other hand, sexual jealousy and inferiority complex is found in Othello s utterances as he

The Five Phases Of The Hundred Years War
A big name for a group of conflicts that were fought in an 116 year time period is the Hundred Years
War (New World Encyclopedia). From 1337 1453, England and France both struggled in battle over
the succession to the French Throne (Wheeler). This war has five phases it can be divided into (Naval
Academy). Many decades consisted of England dominating France and then it went back and forth.
The nation that was winning would always change throughout the series of wars (Wheeler). The result
of the Hundred Years War remained inconclusive since France and England leaders were prepared for
different phases of the war, were skilled in battle, and were victorious in different battles against their
enemies. Although it may seem that one particular ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The wars were declared by kings and not so much between nations or royal families (New World
Encyclopedia). The Duchy of Gascony was one source of friction while another cause was the
establishment of strong alliance by the Flanders (Calgary). Both practical and constitutional aspects
were there to dispute over Gueyenne/Gascony (Naval Academy). Claims of the French crown by
England was not as much a cause of the war than a founded justification for it. Once King Charles IV
died, the succession of the French throne was left confused to everyone. The thought of an attack by
the French and the Scottish from the north and the south of England concerned Edward III in 1335
1336. After being driven out in 1334 by Edward III, Philip VI gave refuge to King David. (Naval

Chapter 1 Introduction
1.1 The importance of brand image on fashion clothing Clothing, as a matter of fact, is a kind of
necessity that helps keep our bodies warm. Human beings cannot live without the protection from
clothes in adverse conditions and this signifies how important clothing is for us. Nowadays, in
addition to the basic functions, clothes can also serve as fashion items, which can tell how significant
an individual is, express the status an individual has and what their personal image is like (O Cass,
2000). Thus, clothing can help represent our personal identity.
Shopping for clothes is one of the popular pastimes among people from all ages, different genders and
cultural backgrounds. Owing to the proliferation of brands in the clothing sector,

Neutrophils Research Paper
Once any bleeding is under control, chemotaxis occurs and inflammatory cells migrate into the wound
and promote the inflammatory phase, which is characterised by the successive influx of neutrophils,
macrophages and lymphocytes.
Neutrophils start with the critical task of destroying and removing bacteria, foreign particles and any
remaining damaged tissue. This phagocytic activity is crucial as bacterial imbalance within acute
wounds causes the wound to stop healing. Neutrophils are attracted to the site of injury within 24 36
hours by pro inflammatory cytokines including TGF β. Neutrophils are one of the most abundant cells
of the immune system and they are extremely active during the repair of cutaneous wounds. In
general, the antimicrobial

  • 2. An Analysis of Ford s Career Website An Analysis of Ford s Career Website Introduction Communicating human resource potentials to the general public might not be at the forefront of most human resources managers and personnel, but in the age of computer and Internet based networking the need to present an informative and effective face to the general public should be a concern for the human resources department at every major firm. Websites are now the expected means by which potential applicants, recruiters and job placement specialists, and other interested parties can learn about human resources initiatives at various companies. Though these public career websites or webpages are not a part of the traditional human resources information system, they must incorporate much of the same architecture and should provide a decent level of transparency into the company s human resources workings (Kavanagh at el, 2011). The following pages present a brief analysis of Ford Motor Company s career website as an illustration of these larger principles. Site Summary Ford Motor Company s career website is largely devoted to photographs and accompanying headlines for news and human interest stories regarding the company s human resources activities (Ford, 2012). There are also clear sections for job seekers and a variety of other navigable elements on the page, with the homepage serving exclusively as a gateway to all of the other sections of the career website (Ford, 2012). After they learned that 1.1 billion people were suffering from a serious lack of safe and clean drinking water, these college students had raised an astounding $1,700 on their own. They had been able to raise a good amount of money for a community to have safe and clean drinking water. What more could they do? However, schools began to reach out to these eight college students. That was when they realized that there were so many organizations that spoke and helped with the water crisis, yet none of them were targeted towards the youth. However, he sometimes reveals his femininity. This paper explains Nanapush s both traditional male role and feminine role in Tracks. Nanapush represents a man of the old generation in this book. He is somewhat patriarchal, dislike a change. In one word, he adhere to the olds; he knews how to make the old medicine, knew the old ways of hunting, and paid attention to the tribe s survival. • 5. What Is The Purpose Of The Narrative Once Upon A Time Humans tell stories to themselves and others as a means of making sense of their world and as a way to promote learning and spread information, or to simply entertain themselves. Completed stories show evidence of two main parts: an underlying structure (how the story is organized) that contains the story s intrinsic meaning and, then, there is a lesser meaning, which is the way the story s structure is presented in the words and symbols, including metaphors. Although the events that compose a story (plot) may not happen in a sequential order, it is important for people or a culture to create a story in such a way that it will construct their reality and give meaning to their subjective experience. Thus, The Narrative ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Once upon a time there was an evening where the winds were strong and the streets were lonely and a mother attempted to put her new infant to sleep. Soon after leaving the nursery, there was a sudden upheaval in the household coming out of the baby s room. The mother was puzzled and alarmed by her infant s outcry. Needing to soothe her baby, the mother took her child to the closest pharmacy that was open 24hours a day. When they arrived, mother stumbled upon a young man who was wise, way before his age. With ease, he guided the frantic mother into a long aisle. There, the anguished mother found herself unable to make sense of what was around her because there was just so much from which to choose and far too many aisles to wander through with a crying child. Once again, the man diligently directed her, this time to an unknown product. The wise man, faded into the background, as the mother stepped forward and looked with doubt and curiosity at this strange and mysterious product. The mom s eyes settle on a visual metaphor that she found on this obscure product. The mother saw on the blue box a female figure holding an infant in her arms, while she gracefully held the infant s head with the palm of her right hand. The tired mother noticed that the female figure pictured on the box was blissfully looking at the sleeping ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They are always saying things such as that s not a real place or I don t fool that easy and I like to go as far as adding that the town next to it is called Summerland, but who couldn t laugh. I lived in the quaint town of Peachland my whole life, I wish I could say I was born there but it s too full of orchards mostly peaches to build a hospital so my Mum had to go to Kelowna. When I did the move from Peachland of a whooping population of 5,000 three months ago to North Vancouver with 16 times the people it was quite the change. I was privileged enough to have done my kindergarten and grade one at the now historic Primary School which closed when after my grade one year due to bat infestation, sounds safe. • 7. What Is The Relationship Between The Gods And The Greek Gods In Homer s The Odyssey, we see many comparisons of the relationships between the great Greek gods and the mortals that lay below them. We can use many words to compare the two s relationship; mutual, parent and childlike, and a sense of early government ruling over its people. Although, what we see between the Greek gods and mortals is the gods playing the role of a somewhat metaphysical guide through the story we still have this confliction of whether they are friends, foe s, or neither. We will be diving deeper into this matter in the following paragraphs below to look at how the gods themselves reflect the image of a guide for the mortals or even a temporary enemy, how they used their powers to help the mortals, and with this role the conflicts and agreements that are created between the two. As said above, in Homer s The Odyssey we see many gods who are helpful to Odysseus on his epic journey. To be more specific we see Athena the goddess of wisdom the most taking an interest in protecting and helping Odysseus along his journey. We see the beginning of her lending out her hand to him when she complains to her father Zeus in front of the other gods on Mt. Olympus that Odysseus is being held captive on Calypso s island. This is seen when she says, Remember him, a godly king as kind as a father. / No, he s still languishing on that island, detained / Against his will by that nymph Calypso. / No way in the world for him to get back to his land (Homer 5. 14 17). I am very upset with Ralph, he told all the boys that my name was Piggy, even after I told him not to. I am sure I ll forgive him soon because for my whole life I have been the subject of jokes, and I have learned to live with it. I already do not like Jack Merridew, and I know he does not like me. I am just not so sure about that. How can a person know and keep track of all the islands in the world? Our chance of being saved is slim. If we do not have a signal fire and rules, I believe we do not stand a chance in getting rescued. On a more positive note, I was finally useful today. The boys used my specs to start the fire on the mountain. Although I could not help collect wood because of my asthma, I at least was the one who enabled the fire to happen. There are many reasons that can, in the long run affect us as a society. Why should we care about other people and the gender that they choose to be? When we are at war and fighting for our country would that really matter ! These very reasons and many more are what steer the LGBT community away from the military. The Abstract Latent Factor ( Lf ) Models  Abstract Latent factor (LF) models have proven to be accurate and efficient in extracting hidden knowledge from high dimensional and sparse (HiDS) matrices. However, most LF models fail to fulfill the non negativity constraints that reflect the non negative nature of industrial data. Yet existing non negative LF models for HiDS matrices suffer from slow convergence leading to considerable time cost. An alternating direction method based non negative latent factor (ANLF) model decomposes a non negative optimization process into small sub tasks. It updates each LF non negatively based on the latest state of those trained before, thereby achieving fast convergence and maintaining high prediction accuracy and scalability. This paper ... Social Attitudes In The Great Gatsby I felt a haunting loneliness sometimes, and felt it in others young clerks in the dusk, wasting the most poignant moments of night and life (Fitzgerald, p.xx). This is the feeling one might feel in their lives no matter how much money they have. F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote The Great Gatsby to portray the different social attitudes within the upper class. F. Scott Fitzgerald was born Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald on September 24, 1896 in St. Paul, Minnesota. He was 29 years old when The Great Gatsby was published on April 10, 1925. In The Great Gatsby, Fitzgerald sheds light on the different personalities between the aged rich families and the modern rich families. An example of the sophistication of Gatsby are the elaborate parties he throws for the people he invites, while on the other hand, Tom and Daisy have a simple dinner with only a few people over. The emptiness one might feel at any time in their life cannot be fulfilled with money but only with other friends surrounding one. Gatsby is characterized as a very elaborate man sophisticated in his ways. He is always seen throwing extravagant parties with only the best of the best belongings in his home. One week ends his Rolls Royce became an omnibus, bearing parties to and from the city between nine in the morning and long past midnight, while his station wagon scampered like a brisk yellow bug to meet all trains. ( Melville, p.39). Nick explains the bizarre lifestyle that Gatsby had with all his parties. Although, throughout Gatsby s life, the reader is able to see the emptiness he feels without Daisy. I,m just going to wait here and see if he tries to bother her about that unpleasantness this afternoon. She s locked herself into her room, and if he tries any brutality she s going to turn the light out and on again. (Melville, p.144). Here, the reader recognizes the love Gatsby has for daisy. He is willing to wait all night in order to be sure of her protection. Gatsby has called off all of his parties and fired all of his servants just to spend time with daisy. In doing this, Gatsby shows great qualities that one should look for in another person: love, loyalty, trust, and a kind heart. Unfortunately, these attributes led to Gatsby s death, ... To begin with, Consciousness defined as a state of being awake and aware of one s surroundings. Even when you re asleep you re considered to be conscious. In analyzing these results, it was also be of interest to calculate the theoretical force using a derivation of equations and comparing them to the measured data. Hinton, the author of the 1967 novel, The Outsiders, uses unique characters, symbols, and hectic events to prove that class conflict is pointless, unwarranted, and destructive. In the novel, fictional characters are brought to life by the author, as she connects and compares their taxing lifestyle to that of the reader. Using 14 year old boy, Ponyboy Curtis who is a greaser who has it fairly bad, living with only his brothers after his parents dies in a tragic car accident, Hinton shows that it s tough all over, no matter your social status. Ponyboy can only rely on Sodapop and Darry, and the rest of the gang. The author displays class conflict throughout the book, by using the socs, or ,the rich kids with mustangs and madras, showing that this dispute, between the greasers and socs, does not make life any easier. The Outsiders uncovers that blood, may not be thicker than water, after all. Hinton created unique characters to display her overall theme of the book. Ponyboy Curtis is the protagonist in The Outsiders. Hinton shows Pony as a young greaser who doesn t use his head much, unless it is for books or movies. Burnell also interviews psychologist Father John Hampsch who credits the recent rise in people claiming to be possessed to their involvement in the occult, with practices such as Ouija board or tarot cards or some kind of New Age practice. The other form is through some kind of sin addiction such as alcohol, drugs or pornography. For Catholics, there has been an increasing amount of claims to possession, while priests have at the same time emphasized their doubts that most of these possessions are worthy of actual exorcisms. Within the Catholic community, there has been a change in the exorcism ritual in the past several years that reflects the influence of dominant scientific thinking. According to an article titled Exorcism Rite Reformed by Crista Kramer von Reisswitz, this ritual change was made public at a Vatican conference in 1999 in which Cardinal Medina explained that exorcists must distinguish between the truly possessed and those who are suffering from hysteria or mental illness (Kramer von Reisswitz). Kramer von Reisswitz also explains that the document encourages pastors to use the insights of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It was first a legend born out of myth and fear which the monster called Nian was trying to kill and attack villagers, years later villagers have found ways to scare the beast away and the passing of the Nian was known in Chinese as a synonymous with celebrations of Chinese New Year, and this is how Chinese New Year celebration is born. In the story The Crucibles Rev Parris let his greed take over his mind and other choices during this period of time. Rev Parris was a merchant before he became a minister and it was obvious that he still had a love for money. Instead of worrying and caring for his daughter who was sick he was arguing with his members about his ministers salary . John Proctor didn t have much respect for Rev Parris because when Parris came to Salem he wanted golden candlesticks instead of the perfectly good ones they had. For twenty weeks he preached nothing but golden candlesticks until he got them. Another example of Rev Parris s greed was when Abigail and Mary Warren stole Parris s money from his strongbox, he seemed more worried about losing all of his money then his Abigail his niece. Vaccines are injections we receive from the moment we are born and throughout our lives that are meant to keep our bodies from contracting various. A baby born in a hospital today can be given up to six shots before the mother is even in a place where she can conciously tell the doctor whether she is okay with that or not. It can take years to become aware of, but the early exposure to the unnatural substances that make up vaccines can lead to a disorder called autism. While many Americans view vaccines positively for their adequate ability to prevent illness, the rise of autism in the nation and its link to vaccines is reason enough to try to change our tactics for trying to stay healthy. Autism is a developmental disorder with symptoms including defects in coordination and motor skills, visual disturbances, and immune suppression. What researchers like Larry Trivieri Jr. have realized over the last decade is these symptoms are extremely similar to the effects of mercury poisoning. Mercury makes up 50% of Thimersal, a preservative found in vaccines; The increases in the occurrence of autism are closely linked to the widespread use of thimersalcontaining vaccines, says Trivieri. While the possible link between autism and vaccines is clear, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) claim there is no link but have yet to thoroughly investigate the issue ... There was something unsettling about the passages paving the way to the Gorg s kingdom in Fraggle Rock . Be that as it may, nothing was more alarming than the introductory appearance of the trolls in Henson s 1986 film Labyrinth. The Sixties Between The Microgrooves Essay Kensi Laube Professor Sattler American History II 17 March 2017 Research Paper Since the Constitution of the United States was written, Americans have practiced their right to freedom of speech as a way to express their point of view on issues facing the country. Over time, voicing one s opinion went from outspoken newspaper articles to large rallies, and during the Vietnam War, music was a prevalent tool in aiding the protests. Allowing political messages to be shared nationally, the music had touched the lives of the younger generation. Author Jerome L. Initially, wars involving the United States were typically well supported by the people, but the abhorrence towards the military s actions in Vietnam lead musical artists to stand in opposition to the war, encouraging the anti war movement. As the war persisted, not everyone s voice was being heard. To quickly spread the message to a wider demographic, American musical artists incorporated political beliefs into their music. For example, Jimi Hendrix wrote songs such as Machine Gun to show his disdain towards the war, but the biggest statement he made was his performance at Woodstock. Creating his own interpretation of The Star Spangled Banner , Hendrix would always be remembered as taking a stand against the political leaders in charge of the United State s involvement in Vietnam. It is the first economic crisis that many of my generation can truly say we lived through. With the burst of the housing bubble and the failure of various financial institutions, the United States was dragged kicking and screaming from the prosperous age of nearly uninterrupted economic growth since the early eighties, into an unemployment rate of over 9% and a decline in Real GDP in the first time in decades. This led to the recession of 81 82 but managed to get inflation under 5% from the high double digits it was under Nixon at the cost of a rather high unemployment rate of 10%. Many argue that this and other policies under the Reagan administration known as Reagonomics, were what led to the economic prosperity that we enjoyed in the 90 s and 2000 s. Rather than discuss what caused the economic growth of the era, we examine a few of the effects it had on markets, especially housing. The family home has always been a major part of the American dream, but it had an even bigger role in the Great Recession. Under legislative pressure banks eased up on a lot of the loans that they gave out. According to Peicuti (2014), In the 2000s, the deregulation of the financial system and development of the originate to distribute banking model led commercial banks to finance subprime mortgages (p.7). It then goes on to lists several characteristics that these borrowers may have including, relatively high default probability as evidenced by, for example, a credit bureau risk... bankruptcy in the last five years... debt service to income ratio of 50 percent or greater (p.7). All of this tells us the same story, these were risky loans to make. We ve learned from class that the interest rate is an indicator of the amount of risk on an asset. Galileo established the principle of inertia which coincides with Newton s first law that states, that an object at rest stays at rest, and an object in motion stays in motion unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. The difference, however, for the two men is that during the time that Galileo was around he was persecuted and thrown in jail for his beliefs while Newton would be applauded for his findings. Since Galileo was so much earlier than Descartes, and Newton his work was ridiculed more than the other two. This was a difference from Descartes and Newton that is significant because even though his finding were important people never fully grasped the realm of his work because he was unable to speak up about findings. He was even thrown in jail and on house arrest because people did not agree and did not want to hear what he had to say. Descartes and Newton were never condemned to the extent that Galileo was. Even though Descartes and Newton were both scholarly and knowledgeable in the field of science they had different ideas on some things. A horrid fusion among a child and an old man the ghost opens the Scrooge s bed curtains. According to the text the spirit is very vivid and bright. So the ghost takes Scrooge to his old school. According to the text Scrooge actually starts to laugh for the first time at the appearance of him reading fantasy books. Consequently he wasn t outdoors, playing with the other kids. The second place the ghost took Scrooge was where he and his sister were talking about their father being sent away. From the reading of the first spirit Scrooge really likes the first spirit for being very generous and thoughtful for taking Scrooge and showing him motivational parts in his life. The ghost of Christmas past helped Scrooge learn that there is more in life other than being morose all the time, there is amusement, family, bliss, and ambitious life to live.
