Wine consumption in the United States increased every year from 2000 2008, according to the U.S.
Department of Commerce and Adams Wine Handbook, the latter an industry trade publication, as
shown in the analysis presented in Exhibit 1. Domestically produced wine, predominantly from
California, made some inroads into the
United States market. From 2000 2008, the consumption of domestically produced table wine grew
22 percent, while over the same period inroads made by wine imports led to expansion in that
category approximately 74 percent. By comparison, however, imported table wine, which
accounted for 10.3 percent of total United States wine consumption in 1991, accounted for 23.5
percent by 2008. Also, share of imports by volume, which was 14.5 percent in 1991, grew to 25.6

Exhibit 2 presents an analysis of wine imports from 2003 2008 by country of origin, showing that

3. Essay On How Did The British Rule Of 1763
There were several major disagreements between the American colonists and British rule between
1763 and the beginning of the Revolutionary War. The British, along with the colonists, had won a
costly war against the French and their Indian allies. It was during this time that England s views
of the New World had started to shift. Rather than focusing on the trade opportunities, more and
more policymakers concerned themselves with the land expansion of the British colonies. The
British also felt that the Americans were the primary beneficiaries of the war, and should help pay
for the debt. American colonists up until this point had been governed very loosely by Parliament
and were not receptive to the new laws, taxes, or the increased British... Show more content on

The Proclamation of 1763 was put in place to control and slow the westward expansion of the land
hungry American colonists. The British thought that a slow and limited westward expansion would
reduce the clashes with the Indians and also prevent migration away from the heavily invested
eastern seaboard. A demarcation line along the Appalachian Mountains was negotiated, somewhat
begrudgingly, with the Indians of the region. The Proclamation of 1763 was almost wholly ignored
by the colonists who continued to push west in search of new land. One of the biggest issues for the
British was the mounting debt incurred during the French and Indian war, along with the
maintenance of British troops garrisoned along the border of the Indian lands. The British made
several attempts to recoup monies from the Americans, the Stamp Act, the Townshend Duties, and
the Tea Act were among the most troublesome. The Stamp Act prohibited the Americans from
producing and using their own forms of paper currency, and required many printed materials in
America to be printed on paper purchased from England that was embossed with a

Use of Third Person and Innocence of Language in Ak eacute;
The Nigerian novelist Wole Soyinka s memoir, Ak eacute;, is a story told through the eyes of a
child. Many incidents and the dialogues within these incidents are written in a tone which is
suggestive of the innocence and actions which would only be performed by someone in a child like
state of mind. Soyinka s masterful use of this tone, and the primary use of first person in story
telling combine to form a realistic childhood picture.

9. The Fundamental Concept Of The Finite Element Method
The fundamental concept of the finite element method is that a physical domain is discretised
into a small number of sub domains, known as elements, over which a continuous field variable
such as velocity, stress, pressure, or temperature can be approximated. These elements are
connected at specific points known as nodes or nodal points. Since the actual variation of the
field variable is not known inside the domain, approximating functions are needed to describe
this variation. These approximating functions interpolate the values of the field variable at the
nodal points of each element. Since the geometric and the required material properties of each
element are known, suitable field equations can be easily developed. From preliminary design

1980 1989: America s Age of Hope
From where did the vigor of the 1980 s come? 1980 to 1989 was a period in the United States
which spurred hope for the economy and in the spirits of the people. The 1980 s were a decade of
the American people standing together in tragedy and rejoicing with each other in victory. In 1989,
the fall of the Berlin Wall marked the end of the decade and an age of an oppression overseas.
America cheered for the freedom of her brothers and sisters in Germany. One highlight of the
1980 s was the substantial growth of the economy through Reaganomics, President Reagan s
principles of economics. In television, the show Family Ties depicted an average family at the
time, who supported each other despite their wide range of beliefs and ideals. Why was this time
in America so great? The people of the nation believed in her, and America gave her people reason
to believe.
The spirit of the 1980 s was born of previous decades. America s victory in World War II hurled
the nation into a society which became faster with each decade. The 1950 s, thriving on a time of
high job opportunity, rolled into the 1960 s time of activism of human rights for all peoples.
Women s rights, African American rights, and antiwar dominated the minds of many Americans in
the 1960 s and 1970 s. Meanwhile, to the pleasure of the children, cable television s quality

Professional sports have been a passing time in our generation and more importantly a business.
Over the years sports have gained millions of viewers and fans. Sports arenas and stadiums seats
have been sold as a result millions of dollars have been made through professional sports. Before
social media and mass media shined light to life as a professional athlete, we were unaware of
exactly what went on behind the curtains between the athletes and the organization that they
played for. Despite the fact that athletes can earn a lot of money at the highest level, they also
experience bad work conditions, dissatisfied with how they are treated, unreasonable pay and
benefits, and the organization not being interested in their well being. According to an article by
Andrew Flint, The NBA Player s Association was founded in 1954 with Bob Cousy of the Boston
Celtics as the first president. It wasn t recognized by the owners until 1964 when the players
threatened to boycott the first televised All Star Game (Flint, 2013). The NBA labor union was
created because prior to the union players in the NBA received no pensions, no healthcare, no pier
Diem, no minimum wage, and an average salary of $8,000 (Flint, 2013). In the NBA specifically
unions still exist for the players that are not superstars that need representation when they are
mistreated by the NBA. Unionization offers employees a method for countering employers powers
to unilaterally change employment conditions.

Many of us anxiety sufferers have been so anxious for so long that we really have no idea of any
other kind of life. Some of us will think that feeling constantly anxious, sweating, afraid, and
nervous about everything is the way that we were meant to live and that things can be no other
way. Some of us even try to convince ourselves that we are the only ones who feel this way, while
others try to convince themselves that everyone feels this level of anxiety.
But, fortunately, there is another way to feel and to live life, no matter how hard we want to believe
otherwise. Confidence is the name of the feeling that is at the opposite extreme of anxious.
Many of us have only felt this feeling for but a few fleeting moments, while others have not
experienced it for years. Being anxious means that we are afraid of perceived threats or of failing,

enable one to enhance the quality of his or her life, situations such as one on one interpersonal
interactions, being able to go out in public, or perhaps being able to drive a car. Others like me,
who are idealists, want to completely eliminate that anxious feeling in all situations. Is this a
realistic goal? The answer is probably no. But, if one continues to pursue complete relaxation as a

13. Catholic Teachings On Abortion Persuasive Speech
Welcome back to todays episode of Compass in my Parent Living Room tonight we will be
investigating abortion in Australian society, and how this clashes with the teachings of the Catholic
faith. We will be joined later by Marty, Catholic Father, and he will be providing an insight into the
Catholic opinion on abortion. Lets start s the Program!!
The action of receiving an abortion is heavily condemned within the Catholic Faith. Its believed that
from conception to natural death all life is sacred and the deliberate killing of an unborn human is
morally wrong. Within contemporary Australian society, this belief validity, as many states begin to
pass legislation allowing women to legally to obtain an abortion.
Abortion is one of the most frequently discussed ethical issues inside the catholic faith. The morals
given by the Church clearly prohibit all uses of contraception to halt a pregnancy. The major ethic
which the church teaches is that the process of delivering a child on this planet involves the
creative action of God, therefore it is sacred from the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Marty First of all when we talk about the church we re really talking about the Vatican or papal
documents, secondly what we are talking about is the Catholic Church of Australia which is
different to the other Catholic Church s, and thirdly the local church which is here in
Maroochydore. The teaching is that all life is sacred and protected and so the Church tells us that
we shouldn t be killing the fetus.
It is evident, that both the Catholic teachings and natural law viciously oppose the termination of a
pregnancy by the use a method of contraception, and especially abortion. Nonetheless, there are
some exceptions within the Catholic Faith that, if applied correctly, can overrule the teachings and

The death penalty was established in the eighteenth century BC, two main reasons the death
penalty was put into place was with the hope of reducing capital crime because of the result
being in death and the believe that criminals who did a crime so bad that qualify for death row
did not deserve to live, but that system is no longer believed to be effective anymore. According
to U.S Newswire fifty seven percent of police chiefs agreed that the death penalty does little to
prevent violent crimes because perpetrators rarely consider the consequences when engaged in
violence(2). The death penalty is also ineffective because ninety percent of offenders can not
afford an adequate criminal defence lawyer. This shows that only ten percent of offenders are
getting the right defence against higher punishments and charges. Some people argue that the
death penalty is effective because people who qualify for death row deserve to die, but many can
also argue that the death row violates the constitution by using inhuman and crucial punishments.

When more and more food stamps are being issued, the economy just looks weaker and weaker,
as there must be less and less jobs around at the time. Also, while not always true, some people
that rely on food stamps might not be motivated to work a lot since they are being fed for free,
and simply to not need work. This creates an unhealthy dependence on the government, which
may destroy motivation to work since these people can freeload of the government for food,
hurting the economy. The system should help those in poverty get up on their feet instead of
babying them for their entire life. Another problem with food stamps is that they are a little too
generous for the people who are capable of work. During the activity, we learned that getting
enough food to get us by was not very difficult. While a large variety of foods wasn t available,
the amount of food we could purchase was more than enough for a welfare system. This just

19. The Characters Of Coraline And Harry Potter
Literary heroes that are also ordinary children are engaging to readers, particularly child readers.
James Pope and Julia Round write that Roald Dahl is a fascinating author in that his books for
children feature child heroes who are very often neither hero nor villain, but a wild, subversive
combination of both (258). These characteristics are also true of Coraline and Harry Potter, as they
are presented as imperfect, but ultimately find the power within themselves to save what is
important to them. Children readers are empowered by Coraline and Harry because they
identify with these ordinary children and feel as if they can also make a difference in their
lives, as the characters defeat the evil in theirs. Children are more likely to engage with
characters they identify with, but when a character is also a hero, children feel as if they
themselves have the power to take agency in their own lives. Coraline is a representation of any
child that is easily bored and seeks adventure, but she also displays bravery and heroism. Coraline s
greatest strength is her imagination, which she uses to her advantage. Most children have active
imaginations as she does, and this quality that they have in common will result in children
identifying with Coraline and believing they are just as capable of surmounting obstacles as she is.

When it comes to call center agents having to go through improper training in the workplace,
increase of workload, and dealing with difficult customers. These issues can come as a negative
outcome to the organization and employees in the area of their performance at work, absent
days off, and finally leaving the employment position takes a toll on both sides of the equation.
Someone s job performance is correlated with conscientiousness, which is the personality trait
of being careful or attentive and the satisfaction a worker has at work. And according to the
Conservation of Resources (COR) theory, that is one of the two leading theories of stress and
trauma over the past 20 years, has reported that individuals become emotionally exhausted when
they do not have enough resources to meet work demands (Witt, Andrews Carlson, 2004, p.150).
The type of resources that should be available to employees, support o of supervisors, a sense of

work demands can consist of role conflict and ambiguity, role overload, and work pressure (Witt,

22. Pro Forma Earnings Report
1.INTRODUCTION
Pro forma earnings are earnings which often exclude non recurring items and are defined by each
individual firm rather than under the general accepted accounting principle (GAAP). Pro forma
earnings reporting is commonplace in the U.S. (Doyle et al. 2013; Bentley et al. 2016). Items such
as nonrecurring gains and losses, depreciation and amortization expenses, write downs,
restructuring and merger costs, stock compensation expenses, and interest expenses are often
excluded in pro forma earnings figures. Since many of these exclusions are likely to be transitory
in nature, pro forma earnings can be viewed as a better measure of permanent earnings and have
received increasing focus recently. Research studies found that pro forma earnings are more value
relevant, informative, and better associated with stock prices than GAAP earnings (Bradshaw and
Sloan, 2002; Bhattacharya et al.,2003; Brown and Sivakumar, 2003; Entwistle et al., 2010).
However, exclusion of the non recurring items is completely discretionary (Doyle et al., 2013) and
managers may use the flexibility to opportunistically influence the market s perception of the firm s
recurring earnings (Dechow and Schrand, 2004). Managers may have strong incentives to
manipulate the reported pro forma earnings to influence investors perceptions about the ... Show

23. Navy Chiefs In Men Of Honor
Navy Chiefs in Men of Honor
Introduction
The movie Men of Honor stars Robert De Niro as Master Chief Leslie Billy Sunday and Cuba
Gooding, Jr as Chief Carl Brashear. The movie is loosely based on the real life story of Chief Carl
Brashear, the first black man to become a Master Deep Sea Diver in the US Navy. The movie
takes place during the 1950s and 1960s in the US. During that time, racism and discrimination was a
society norm. The movie uses drama and writer s freedom of expression to tell the story of the
hardships Chief Brashear faced in his quest to become a Master Diver. The movie was released on
November 10, 2000 in the United States theatres (Cinema.com, 2000).

That respect showed through during the final test. The school commanding officer made it clear
that Brashear was not to pass. The Chiefs working on the dock with Master Chief understood the
Captain s order. They made sure to make it hard on Brashear to force him to give up by cutting
his tool bag. However, Master Chief stayed on the docks until Petty Officer Brashear was able to
complete the valve even though it took 9 hours in the extremely cold water.
Master Chief has a problem with authority during the entire movie and as a result of several
outbreaks (including hitting LCDR Hanks in the nose), had been demoted to Chief. Yet, Chief
Sunday approached Senior Chief Brashear to help him get ready for a medical review board and
return to active service. Chief Sunday kept putting Senior Chief Brashear s needs and interest
above his own. Of course, having the chance to defeat Chief Sunday s mortal enemy, now Captain
Hanks, was just icing on the cake.

24. Flashback In The Scarlet Ibis
When a person feels remorseful, he feels guilty from actions he has done. This leads to self
reflection and then ultimately to one s admission of his mistakes. In the short story The Scarlet Ibis
written by James Hurst, the author employs the elements of flashback and foreshadowing to
manifest the narrator s emotionof remorse surrounding Doodle s life and death. Hurst conveys the
use of flashback in the story when the narrator is constantly having recollections of his actions,
which evokes the remorse he feels surrounding these actions. Foreshadowing is utilized by setting
descriptions and symbolisms related to Doodle s death and to also to convey the narrator s feelings
surrounding death.
The author s use of flashback is most effective. First, Hurst employs it to evince the narrator s
actions of guilt in retrospect to Doodle. The narrator recollects a scene where he had done a cruel
injustice to Doodle where he has felt within [him] something he has seen only from others before a
knot of cruelty borne from the stream of love (557). In addition, there is an admission of his ... Show

In the scene where the narrator has finally disclosed to his parents that Doodle is now able to
walk, he began to cry and the father asks him why he was crying. He keeps to himself that he did
it for himself and he was ashamed of having a crippled brother (559). Hurst also utilizes flashback
in order for the narrator to recall his past actions which he now regrets doing. In the story, the
narrator constantly performed cruel actions on his brother which he does not realize himself until
that scene where notices that the only reason Doodle was actually able to walk was because he
was ashamed of his incompetence. This results in him having flashback later on and led to him

26. Tribulation Consists of Three Different Capital Beliefs
Rough draft 2 The tribulation consists of three different capital beliefs. These beliefs include the
Pre Tribulation, Mid Tribulation, and Post Tribulation. Each tribulation has its own biblical
standpoint requiring beliefs based on when the return of Jesus. Some tribulation beliefs have strong
biblical evidence while others lack biblical documentation. The raptureis a event that is tied into the
tribulation because the Great Tribulation is based on when the rapture occurs. The rapture is a
event where all non Christians will be left on earth while and all believers will go to heaven. Jesus
will come to earth but will not physically touch ground instead he will remain in air and return to
heaven with the church.
Pre tribulation is the series of events described through the bible regarding when the return of
Jesus will be. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the
archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are
alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air:
and so shall we ever be with the Lord (1 Thess, 4:16 18). This passage shows the uplifting of
believers from earth to heaven. God will come from heaven, trumpets will sound and all believer in
him will go to heaven.
Pre Tribulation believers think that they are removed from the wrath of god for the Bible says For

27. White Elephants
The story opens with a description of the perspective of the river Ebro, and the mountains past it,
from a train station in Spain. An American man and a lady are having a few brews outside the
station bar as they sit tight for the train from Barcelona to Madrid. As the couple drinks, the lady
tells that man that the hills out yonder help her to remember white elephants. This starts a little
contention between them, which the lady avoids by indicating out that something has been painted
on the beaded shade that hangs over the entryway of the bar. The artwork promotes an alcohol
called Anis del Toro, which they choose to attempt. Their discussion stays tense, and soon the man
starts attempting to persuade the lady, Jig, to have a abortion,... Show more content on

There isn t a great deal more to the underlying circumstance than that. The intriguing Spanish setting
and all the elaborate ornaments are coincidental. The discussion that makes up this story could have
happened anyplace, at whatever time. Jig s apparently honest proclamation that the hills resemble
white elephants rapidly transforms into an opposition with the man over who has voyage more. Be
that as it may, that is only the top layer of the contention cake. Underneath this contention lies a
noteworthy inconvenience. To add on, turns out the hills are an allegory for pregnancy, which is
somewhat more critical than past travel understanding. The man entangles the officially
convoluted circumstance by saying that a premature birth is not an operation. All things
considered, Jig assumes in an unexpected way, which prompts to the peak. At the point when the
man strolls off with the bag, we think about for a minute whether he will vanish, simply continue
strolling, sacks what not. When we see him headed back we think about whether Jig will in any
case be there holding up. The story doesn t give us much time for tension, yet it s certainly there.
The action is slowing down when the man has a drink at the bar, and when he s strolling back to
Jig, and after that when he strolls through the drape. In the meantime, all conclusion is suspended;
we don t know how things will end. Not an exceptionally sensational finale, unless you focus on the
connotations of the small scale discussion Jig and the man have at the very end of the story. It s
likewise fairly emotional to abandon us hanging about completely

29. Reflection About Reading And Writing
It was my second grade year, I was only 7 years old, when I first found my hatred of anything
that had to do with reading or writing. Every week my teacher would give us a lengthy list of
vocabulary words that we had to memorize before our spelling test the following week. I would
study for periods at a time trying to memorize this gruesome lists of words, that I could never
commemorate. When it came down to the day of the test I would see all my classmates at ease,
while I would panic trying to remember what I studied. When it finally became time to take the
test, I heard the teacher call the word island , but I couldn t concentrate. I was frustrated, I
couldn t think, the teacher would ask is everyone ready to move on , but I wouldn t say
anything, because I was too shy. After a couple of days I would get my score back, and wasn t
surprised when I found out that I had failed the test. Weekley this was recurring theme when I
got my spelling test returned. Eventually, I accepted the fact that reading and writing was not for
me. Although my second grade experience was terrible, my third grade year gave me an
experience that I never had with literacy. My teacher Mrs. Quinn, would give us a list of
vocabulary words, but instead of us memorizing them, we would have to create a story using
these words. This opened my eyes to a component of literacy that I never explored. I had total

Mummification, also known as embalming, is the process of preserving human remains. It

Belief in an eternal afterlife was very important to Ancient Egyptians. Bodies were mummified
to prepare for this afterlife. This process was not only done to preserve the body, but to create a
new one that could last during this eternal afterlife. Mummification was an expensive process;
therefore it was mostly done by wealthy people as poor people could not always afford to do it.

The internal organs would be the first to decompose so they were removed first. It is a popular
belief that their brains were removed through their nostrils. The Ancient Egyptians believed the
brain to be useless, and that the main thinking organs were the heart and the liver. The heart was
not removed from the body for this reason, as well as the belief that it controlled intellect and
memory. A specialist would make a cut on the left side of the body to take out the necessary
organs. The lungs, liver, stomach, and intestines were removed thereafter. The organs were then
washed and soaked in natron. They bandaged the organs and placed them in canopic jars. The
canopic jars were believed to be represented by the four sons of Horus: Imsety (human headed;

32. Oligopoly Market Structure
Oligopoly Oligopoly is a market structure in which the number of sellers is small. Oligopoly
requires strategic thinking, unlike perfect competition, monopoly, and monopolistic competition.
Under perfect competition, monopoly, and monopolistic competition, a seller faces a well defined
demand curve for its output, and should choose the quantity where MR=MC. The seller does not
worry about how other sellers will react, because either the seller is negligibly small, or already a
monopoly. Under oligopoly, a seller is big enough to affect the market. You must respond to your
rivals choices, but your rivals are responding to your choices.

Jack does not care that Jill s output is sold at a lower price.
The price effect is smaller for duopoly than monopoly, and the quantity effect favors more output
whenever price is above marginal cost. Therefore, the Nash equilibrium price will be closer to
marginal cost than the monopoly price. The more firms in the oligopoly, the smaller the price
effect will be, and the lower the Nash equilibrium price. When the number of firms approaches
infinity, the price effect approaches zero. Therefore, each seller will increase output whenever the
price is above marginal cost. In the limit, we have the perfectly competitive price, and the socially
efficient quantity.
A Brief Introduction to Game Theory Game Theory can be used to study oligopoly games other

Now coming down to specifics, why do we say that the Indian Banking Industry is probably in one
of those interesting times that probably it has never or will never see again? We say so because
competition inadvertently brings out the best in all possible aspects and circumstances. And the
competition that is being unleashed today has never been seen in the past, at least in the Indian
Banking Industry. Now that the Indian Public Sector Banks don t feel the need to hold on to
government s crutches, the sector is slowly but steadily attracting competition. As if the entry of
new and energetic private sector banks was not enough, even the multinational banks are leaving no
stone unturned to ride the Indian growth bandwagon.
In this context, we present the in depth analysis of two banks that best represent the multitude of
banks operating in the Indian banking landscape. The first one is a market leader and it has raised

A financial abatement mainly consists of four main components which are balance sheets, profit
and loss account, cash flow statements and income statement. Each component has different
function which can be lined out as:
Balance Sheets: It provides the financial situation of the company as a whole. It records the
tangible and intangible goods that the company owes or owns. The three categories in a balance
sheet are assets, liabilities and shareholders equity. The assets are basically categorised in to current
assets, fixed assets and other assets. The liabilities section of the balance sheet consists of current
liabilities and long term liabilities. The shareholders equity represents the net worth of the company.
In balance sheet, the shareholder s equity is calculated as the sum of liabilities and net worth.
Profit and Loss Account: it summarizes the incomes and expenses of a company in a given period
of time. This includes accruals which are incomes that will be realised only after the particular
profit and account was prepared.
Cash Flow Statements: These statements are very important to predict the future flow of finance in
the company. The cash flow statement is concerned with understanding if there is enough money
for all the activities and expenses of the company and stands as a good measure for a company s
liquidity.

However there was always something more being thrown at them making their love something

that their free will to love each other and be together is nonexistent. They are doomed from the

in this story is the entire meaning to everything. Love is why Romeo and Juliet die. Love is why

march through the valley. He noted that the army was moving fast and marching in extreme heat.
His intentions now were to return and report this information to the General Robert E. Lee.
Lieutenant General James Longstreet received him back at camp, and the spy let him know of the
information, which he had obtained. Longstreet found it useful information to pass on to Lee. Both
Lee and Longstreet were skeptical of this information, but if the spy was right they would be in
extreme danger. After viewing the map, Lee decided to go ahead and move his army towards
Gettysburg, which would be the direction in which the Union army would... Show more content on

All he needed to do was hold the hill till morning when reinforcements would arrive.
Wednesday, July 1st, 1863 . . . of the coming of the Lord On this morning Lee spoke with
Longstreet, about how he would like for him to stay behind in the battle so that he would not
lose him. Longstreet agreed but also brought notice to Lee about the Union cavalry was already
in Gettysburg. Lee was caught by surprise; being told earlier that only militia was seen there. Lee
reported that it was John Buford, and that infantry was soon to come if the cavalry was already
there. Longstreet thought of taking the defensive end and waiting for Buford to attack. Lee on
the other hand disagreed with the defensive tactic and wanted to attack Buford. Of course Lee
was above Longstreet and would get his way. Buford woke in the morning only to smile and
smirk as he heard General Heth s men trying to put up a fight and take his hill. He was not
worried of Heth, but worried of what was to arrive behind Heth. Buford knew that if Lee were to
arrive and attack, then he would lose the battle and also the hill on which he stood. Major General
Reynolds arrived shortly after the battles that were going on that morning. Buford was very glad to
see him and his infantry. Later that day in another short battle, Buford caught a glimpse of
Reynolds as he rode into battle, only to later turn and see Reynolds dead on the ground. The battle

45. Steele Creek Analysis Essay
Steele Creek Analysis : Andrew Lai 10F
During the many sessions we had to investigate and research the health and condition of Steele
Creek; at the same time we also hypothesized that If the results indicate that Steele Creek is in the
optimum range for damselfly nymphs then damselfly nymphs will be abundant. The many
experiments we conducted on the creek provided us with crucial findings that showed Steele
Creek was in the lower range of good health . The several experiments we conducted consisted of
a: Habitat Survey, Soil Analysis, Water Analysis and Macro Invertebrate Identification. These
tests were restricted to the section we chose of Steele Creek (excluding the Macro Invertebrate
test) . This allowed us to compare an array of aspects of Steele Creek s water such as pH level and
turbidity , giving us an insight into the kind of species that the Steele Creek habitat could sustain
and the very nature of it. The fact that the the investigations were conducted at different times, dates
and conditions, suggests a possible variation in our results.
Habitat Survey

improvement would be following the methodology more strictly to reduce any margin for error,
clearly apparent in our phosphate test. But despite our best efforts, there were some events that

The Great American Dream What is the American Dream? The American Dream is described by
many as their life goals. In John Steinbeck s book, Of Mice and Men , the Great American Dream
has a different meaning to everyone as it depends on the person who is dreaming of a life goal.
Some ways The Dream is described in Steinbeck s book is owning a small portion of the United
States, or becoming an actress, or even just equality between humans. However, for some people,
that is just too much to ask. In Robert Burns poem To a Mouse , he writes The best laid schemes

47. The Effects Of Television On Our Life
Everything has positive and negative outlooks. Televisions don t have to be a negative thing. Some
believe that watching television is negative and cannot be influencing to others, but some may seem
to believe that you can learn a few thing from watching TV. But watching television can perhaps
have a positive impact in your life. Televisioncan enhance the different ways you tend to see things,
it can be an informative way of learning, and can also be a soul searching moment of inspiration.
Watching TV can be a positive act in your day to day life. You may believe that TV cannot be a
positive act in your in life, but when watching certain television shows you learn different life
lessons. Shows like the educational channels, history channels, and other related channels are
great shows to watch. It helps you build up you social and learning skills, and can make you
look at things as well as life a little differently now that you have watched it from a different
aspect. You can learn a lot from watching these particular kinds of shows, because when you see
how it is being done and how others do it on the television, its gives you that mind set that you
want to go out and experience it a different way, instead of the way you usually have done it. For

Biblical Worldview of my Chosen Vocation
Introduction
The way we see God influences everything we do in life the way we treat each other (as individuals
being created in God s image), our stewardship of God s creation, our understanding of our
vocation as a way to glorify (Etzel and Gutierrez, p.3). If I were to choose just two examples of
how man was created in the image of God, I would have to choose integrity and moral ethics. Upon
completion of my B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis on Leadership, I will enter the
business world that requires both examples.
Integrity
Integrity is the quality of being honest and having strong moral convictions. He never sinned, nor
ever deceived anyone (New Living Translation ,1 Peter 2.22). I was made in the image of God
and he spoke the truth and kept His word. Leaders know that honesty and integrity are the
foundations of leadership. Leaders stand up for what they believe in. Leaders with integrity may
not be the most famous or flashy of leaders, and they don t care. Integrity means doing the right
thing because it is the right thing to do. Neither should we become antagonistic or agnostic to the
existence of truth. Jesus said the Word of God is truth, and that is a great starting point for us
(Etzel and Gutierrez, p.23). The book of Proverbs provides an abundance of verses on integrity.
He who walks in integrity walks securely, but he who perverts his ways will be found out
(Proverbs 10.9). A person that has integrity will have a good reputation and not have to fear that
he or she will be exposed as a person that can t be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

49. Overcoming Resilience
To overcome an obstacle, one must have some essence of resilience within. Resilience has been
defined as an attitude that enables the individual to examine, enhance and utilize the strengths,
characteristics and other resources available to him or her (Harrington, 2012). As a gunner in the
military for a Bradley Fighting Vehicle, you are responsible for the turret and weapon system.
Having never been a Bradley Commander, when asked to step up and take command I felt
overwhelmed with the task at hand. Without being resilient, I would have failed as a Brandley
Commander. My first day at the job, I met with my new crew and explained that we are going to
have strict standards and that my intent is to become a top performing crew in our platoon.

50. Descriptive Essay About Sunday Night
Sunday Night How Alice made it through the madness of Wonderland is something I ll never
understand. My Sunday had already been a topsy turvy nightmare since the moment I woke up:
Texts from people who had no business having my number, a family emergency that called me
away from my lover, and the desperate need of an actual shower morning sex is good and all but
not when you ve left your honey lavender body wash at home. So when the red and blue swirl of
cop lights blinded me through my rearview window, I knew we my sister and her friend were in
the car as well were fucked. The more I think back on that night, the more ironic it seems.
Around 9:30PM my sister, Valerie, her friend, Paris, and I left the John C. Hitt Library. We had
spent the last four hours doing homework and more. We were all tired, but still not ready to go
home. So I suggested we go to Oviedo on the Park. A cute destination when you re looking for
aesthetic a lake with a fountain in the center, swan paddle boats that rest gracefully on the water,
and shops either in the making or already open. We didn t stay at the park for long because of
how late it was and not wanting to be out late at night. Three black females alone late at night in
a black Jeep Patriot that I ve nicknamed the Juggernaut (nobody knows that but me) didn t sound

51. Arguments Against Vaccination
Vaccinations occurs when a health provider purposefully administer a virus or a bacteria into the
body through injections. Vaccines only contain a small amount of weakened virus. This procedure
gets done in order to prepare the bodies immune system for future infections. The immune system
can recognize the virus and determine the right tactic to destroy it, before it takes a toll on the
body. Exposing the body to a virus can potentially save it from getting harmed from diseases like
the whooping cough, chickenpox, influenza, polio, and many more life threatening illnesses. Even
with the minor and infrequent side effects from vaccinations, several parents refrain from
vaccinating their children. They do not want to put their children s lives at risk and would rather
take the chance with the diseases that may occur without the proper vaccinations. The negative
effects of vaccinations are simply too risky for... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Several religions protest against vaccinations due to the fact that it violates the belief systems of
their respective religions. For the Christian religion, they disapprove vaccinations because the
founder of vaccines, Mary Baker Eddy, once stated that the calm Christian mind is a better
preventative of contagion than a drug, or than any other possible sanative method (Should Any
Vaccines Be Required for Children?). Obviously, this blasphemy angered many faithful Christians
and began to believe that vaccinations are unholy. Similarly, the Amish community do not believe
in the use of vaccinations. Ordinarily, the Amish community live a quaint lifestyle without any
technology or advanced medicine. So, vaccinations are out of the question as well. The Amish
community even believe that vaccinations actually weaken the immune system. The religious rights
of these communities give reason for parents to band against

52. Bazarovism And Nihilism
During the 1860s, there were new, different streams of thoughts that were emerging. In Fathers and
Sons, Bazarov was a nihilist, and represented the younger generation who believed in Bazarovism.
Turgenev s description of Bazarov and his attempts to change Nikolai Petrovich Kirsanov, a
Romantic, reveals what Turgenev thoughttoward nihilists. Bazarov s actions and thoughts mirror
the thoughts of those young scholars during the 1860s. Throughout his novel, Turgenev s portrayal
of Bazarov create a description of Bazarovism, a different and new type of literary type and
thought for Russiaduring the 1860s. These new literary and intellectual types of thought grew from
the generational difference between the fathers and the sons. As it grew out of a difference between
generations, Bazarovism is largely different from Romanticism, what the fathers believe in, and is
related to nihilism.
Turgenev, in describing what type of person Bazarov was, coined the term nihilism. In Fathers
and Sons, Arkady, Nikolai s son, states that Bazarov is a nihilist. Turgenev then describes the
actions of Bazarov, creating a new intellectual thought, Bazarovism. Bazarovism is mostly derived
from his own actions and views, but is also influenced by others reactions to the way Bazarov acts.
As a nihilist, Bazarov rejects anything unless it has been previously proven to be true. Arkady tells
his father, Nikolai, and Pavel, his uncle, that as a nihilist, Bazarov looks at everything critically.

lesions are not visible at birth but appear in the first four to six weeks of life. Hemangiomas are

One of them being that it was a randomized controlled trial which increases its internal and
external validity. One of the main limitations of the study was the heterogeneous patient
population and small numbers. The dramatic response of IH s to propranolol is encouraging and
suggests early treatment could result in decreased scarring and disfigurement. Propranolol
hydrochloride administered orally reduced the volume, color, and elevation of focal and
segmental IH in infants younger than 6 months up to 5 years of age. LOE II: Evidence obtained
from at least one well designed Randomized Controlled Trial (4). The main strength in the study
completed by Chakkittakandiyil et al. was that it demonstrated further clinical evidence of the
safety and efficacy of topical timolol maleate. The study had several limitations. The procedures
for digital photography were not uniformly standardized and the investigators were not blinded to
duration of treatment. Topical timolol was shown to be an effective treatment for superficial IH
with decreased risk of adverse events compared to oral beta blockers. LOE IV: Evidence from well
designed case control and cohort studies

Need A New Garage Door? Understand The Different Kinds Of Openers When you need to
purchase a new garage door, you may be very concerned about the material, style, and color.
However, the most important aspect of the garage door can be the opener. Know the difference
between the 5 kinds of garage door openers, and select the one that will be best for you. Jackshaft
The jackshaft opener works with a combination of cables, pulleys, and a motor. It opens the door
by turning its torsion bar, which pulls on the cables and pulls the door upward. When the torsion
bar turns in the reverse motion, it lowers the cables so that the door can close. Jackshaft openers
are wall mounted next to your garage door, which help keep the garage ceiling free for storing your
personal belongings. The opener itself is also quiet, which makes it ideal for garages that share a
wall with a bedroom. Direct Drive The direct driver opener is even... Show more content on

It works by connecting a trolley to the j arm connected to your garage door, which moves on the
chain. While these openers are known for being noisy, newer models use DC motors and have
vibration technology that makes the entire unit quieter. It won t be silent, but the noise is an
improvement over older models. Due to the noise, it is often used in garages that are detached
or have separation between the home and the garage. Belt Drive A belt drive opener is
practically identical to its chain drive counterpart, except it uses a belt instead of a chain. The
belt is made from rubber that has reinforced steel, fiberglass, or polyurethane. They have the
same reliability as a chain drive opener, but are more expensive and quieter. Screw Drive This
opener rotates a steel rod that is threaded, which moves the trolly over a rod. These types of
openers don t have many moving parts, so they will require less maintenance over the years. They
