Ancient Egypt History
Egyptian History Egypt is a county whose history dates back to at least 2600 BCE. With that long of a
timeline, it is easy to understand how diverse and interesting their history is. The main part of Egypt s
history has been divided into three main sections, the Old kingdom, the Middle Kingdom, and the
New Kingdom. Each kingdom has it s own stories to tell that make it completely different from the
last. From the culture to the pharaohs that were ruling and even the innovations that they were able to
achieve, each kingdom was able to flourish in it s own way. The Old Kingdom of Egypt is believed to
have started around 2686 BCE and have lasted to around 2180 BCE (Duiker). The capital of the Old
Kingdom is believed to have been in Memphis. During this time, according to stories passed down
through tradition, Egypt consisted of many populated areas that were all ruled by tribal ... Show more

The Middle Kingdom is believed to have started around 2055 BCE and ended around 1650 BCE
(Duiker) when Nebhepetre Mentuhotep II was able to reunited Upper and Lower Egypt
(Metropolitan). He not only did this to bring the country together as one land, but also for political
reasons (Duiker). The Middle Kingdom showed an age of transformation with the capital being moved
to Thebes (Metropolitan). Art was also transformed during this time. They were able to produce
sculptures and monuments out of large stones (Giotto). These would be dedicated to the god like
figures and the pharaohs. Another advancement was that of writing. Writing had already began toward
the end of the Old Kingdom for records, but now it was used to record and tell the stories that were
normally passed down through generations orally. The Egyptians also learned how to use the Nile
River to their advantage. They were able to use its flooding to help provide the soil with nutrients and
they also developed irrigation techniques to help increase their agriculture output

Guest blogging has being touted by some bloggers as a great way to achieve some kind of recognition
and popularity. They say it will open doors for you to reach new heights in your blogging experience.
Let me state here that I m no fan of guess blogging and lately I don t hear much about it unlike past
years. I m sure it s still going on somewhere in the Blogosphere, but I guess it has gone lame.
The argument is that guest blogging will help generate links, exposure and traffic to your own blog.
Obviously, this is the motivation that got many bloggers posting on other people s blogs to gain that
extra mileage. In a sense, guest bloggers are like butterflies or grasshoppers.
If you want to move in the fast lane, once you joined the blogging community, you might think guest
blogging would enhance the user experience. But first you ve got to gain an entry ticket before you re
accepted by any other blogger whose site is your target.
To do that, you have to show that you have got what it takes to write well with great information, tips

Fuel Subsidies Literature Review
Literature Review Neellohit Datta (1315709)
Topic: The Effectiveness of Fuel Subsidies on Developing Economies
Introduction:
Black Gold is the other name for petroleum, the reason being, it is black when it is extracted, and
subsequently the byproducts such as petrol, diesel, LPG, propane and so on are as precious as gold. As
importing fuel for the less petroleum rich countries is costly, the government generally gives subsidies
to the residents of the nation, to make the byproducts more easily accessible. They are also used as an
attempt to avoid inflation in the economy and safeguard citizens from the price fluctuations in the
global energy markets.
The flipside is that the Fuel subsidies given by the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Paramount Decision Of 1948
The Paramount decision of 1948 and the Hollywood blacklist altered the direction of the filmmaking
business in America, one that I believe has had a lasting impression for decades. The Paramount
decision of 1948 refers to a court decision against the major film companies, Paramount, Warner
Bros., 20th Century Fox, Loew s MGM, Columbia, Universal and United Artists to outlaw their price
fixing and monopolization of the industry. The Hollywood blacklist referred to a list of studio
employees from 1947 until 1957 that were linked to association to the Communist party, and were to
be blacklisted form the film industry indefinitely, or until made innocent of their involvement. Both of
these major events of the film industry in the 1930s until 1950s had a major impact on business.

The movie companies at that time not only owned the movie, they also owned the majority of movie
theatre. This allowed them to block book the first run movies that everyone wanted to view. The block
book could take away from the revenues the movie stars could benefit from when a particular film was
a hit. (Lewis 196) The effect of the Paramount decision had an immediate effect on the industry, as
revenues decreased by over 20 percent over the next few years. Studio profits declined from $120
million in 1946 to $31 million in 1950. Although the large studios took a loss from the decision, the
independent studios were able to benefit. According to The History Channel, the Para mount decision
allowed independent producers could finally compete with the large studios for audiences and actors,
marking the beginning of the end for the Hollywood studio system. (Lewis 197, History

The Film of Nixon
The Film of Nixon In an adventure though time, one of the great moments to look at is, the Nixon era
in American history. He was the president of the United States of America (U.S.A). He lead the U.S.A
in cover ups, war, lies, and so much more. One of the best way to see what he was like is the movie of
Nixon. It accurately covers most of the events in Nixon s life as president. This will explain the movie,
eight points from the movie that are unlawful and/or unconstitutional, how this movie affected me,
and what I think of the movie. Now with out further due, Turn off your cell phone, quite down, the
movies about to begin. The movie does not apologize for Nixon, and holds him accountable for the
disgrace he brought to the presidency. In the title role, Anthony Hopkins looks and sounds only
generally like the 37th president. This is not an impersonation; Hopkins gives us a deep, resonant
performance that creates a man instead of imitating an image. The movie also talks about the infamous
18 1/2 minute gap on the White House tapes symbolizes a dark hole inside the president s soul, a
secret that Nixon hints at but never reveals. What is implied is that somehow a secret CIA operation
against Cuba, started with Nixon s knowledge during the last years of the Eisenhower administration,
turned on itself and somehow led to the assassination of John F. Kennedy. The movie doesn t suggest
that Nixon ordered or desired Kennedy s death, but that he half understood the process by

Essay On Intimate Enemies
Intimate Enemies, (L Ennemi intime), a French war film based on the Algerian war, presents a
convincing portrayal of the psychological trauma of French soldiers fighting against Algerian
insurgents. This movie reminded me of the barbarity of war and its detrimental effects on the people
involved.
The movie takes place in the remote and mountainous regions of Algeria in 1959 where the French
army is fighting with the Fellagha (Algerian insurgents). The soldiers there are joined by Lieutenant
Terrien who is a new, naïve and idealistic officer. Terrien quickly faces events that challenge his moral
beliefs such as village massacres, prisoner tortures and shooting of civilians. Initially he resists the
savagery of the other soldiers and officers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Terrien states that if an order is morally unacceptable, then you should refuse it sir. The captain
counters that the FLN uses vile methods too, similar to how people were treated in Vietnam. He
contends that the warfare in Vietnam and Algeria was less military but more psychological.
Interestingly, Terrien responds by questioning the nature of Algeria with regards to France. If Algeria
is France, then why are Algerians not treated equally as French citizens? The captain replies, You ll
come around, just like we all did. The nature and system of the conflict was the issue, not the actual
atrocities committed by both sides. Those wrongful attacks or methods were results of the main
political differences of the French and Algerians. For me, I wonder if France truly tried to assimilate
Algeria and give Algerians the same citizenship and rights as Frenchmen, would the FLN be this
violent and adamant about independence? It was clear in this movie (and in Battle of Algiers) that the
FLN initially was a minority in Algeria but due to French counterinsurgency, the majority decided to
pick the lesser of two

Accounting Policies While Preparing Their Financial...
Companies use accounting policies while preparing their financial statements. All financial statements
are set to follow an international standard guideline. These policies are available to users of financial
statements while making financial decisions in order to make sure that the proper decisions are being
made. According to The Financial reporting and analysis article by Gibson, the full disclosure
principle states that a company s financial statements should include all the information needed in
order for the reader to fully understand statements (Gibson, 2012). Disclosures not only provide
extensive information to users but also monitor the preparation of financial statements to guarantee
that it is free from any misleading policies that might have been used by management while preparing
financial statements. Some of the requirements by the disclosure when preparing financial statements
are reporting all transactions and trades that occurred during the period that the financial statements
are covering are actually reflected on the financial statements. This includes any errors that might have
caused any false calculations should also be reported on the financial statements. In addition to that,
footnotes should be provided along with the financial statements to support and better explain
financial reporting (Prentzas, 2012). The two common disclosures required and applied on financial
reporting are fixed assets and notes payable. Fixed assets disclosure categorizes

Essay on The Fires of Jubilee by Stephen B. Oates
The Fires of Jubilee by Stephen B. Oates
The Fires of Jubilee by Stephen B. Oates describes a sad and tragic story about a man named Nat
Turner who was born into slavery and his fight to be free. Ironically, his willingness to do anything,
even kill, to gain his freedom leads to his own demise. From the title of this book, The Fires of
Jubilee, ; a reader can truly grasp the concept that there is trouble, chaos, and mayhem brewing in the
month of August.
This story was not only riveting, but also one that kept me on my heels for almost the entire time that I
was reading it. Stephen B. Oates, a prize winning author of thirteen books and more then seventy

With this newly acquired knowledge, he began preaching the Old Testament to the other slaves, about
what freedom meant and how they should fight for it. He mainly preached to a group of five other
slaves, with the addition of two more later on about the concept of freedom. Nat felt as if he was
driven into some corner of slavery from which there was no return, only his imagination was he free.
He had a burning rage to fight against the Serpent, and slay the enemy with their own weapon.
During their March of Destruction, ; things began to get out of hand. Though he was willing to go to
extreme measures to gain his freedom, the events that ended up taking place ended up becoming a
massacre. Due to Nat s rebellion, 60 whites and 200 blacks died. Though Nat did in fact partake in the
killings, the author makes it out to seem as if in the end, Nat did not really want this to become a
bloodbath. Although he thought that it was getting out of hand, he stood idly by, watching the
massacre take place. In the end, a total of 50 stood trial, and 21, including Nat Turner were hung for
the rebellion.
After the rebellion and the death of Nat Turner, Garrison and Knapp, whom believed that Negroes had
as much to the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness as whites enjoyed, published the
Liberator ; in Boston, demanding that slaves be emancipated and freed. Though it cannot be said with
certainty that this was the one major event that sparked the

Prosecution Intimidation And Witness Intimidation
There are many reasons victims do no want to testify in court. Legal cynicism and witness
intimidation are a couple of the top reasons. One reason I feel is overlooked is witness intimidation.
Witness Intimidation is when threats are made by defendants to discourage victims or witnesses of a
crime from reporting or testifying. (Connick and Davis 439) If a victim feels threatened, they often
become hesitant to testify sometimes even to report the crime. With the right incentives, victims and
witnesses would be more likely to participate in the process of testifying against a defendant.
Witness intimidation happens in many forms, such as: looks, threats of violence, physical violence,
property damage, etc. If you commit a crime, you will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These programs are still new in the eyes of the justice system. Victims and witnesses receiving help
were more likely to appear when summoned than those who had not been aided. (Neubauer and
Fradella 236) Victims who are testifying against a defendant are authorized to receive protection,
whether inside or outside of court.
There are services provided to protect the victims or witnesses. When waiting in the courtroom, they
are entitled to a special waiting room, away and out of sight from the defendant and the defendant s
friends and family. By separating the defendant from the victims and witnesses, it lessens the change
of intimidation within the courtroom. Even victims and witnesses that are incarcerated have the option
and availability to be separated from others to keep them safe. By separating from certain groups,
gangs are not able to finish hits on a victim or witness.
Another way to keep a victim or witness in testifying is ensuring that everyone coming in and out of
the courthouse will be on video surveillance. By taping everyone coming into the courthouse,
hopefully it would discourage any intimidation within the courthouse. Also by having surveillance, it
would give the victims and witnesses a sense of security, knowing that anybody coming near them in
the courthouse is on camera.
One program to motivate victims to participate in testifying helps with compensating the victims or
witnesses. During the process of the trial and even before when

The Power Of Music, Music And Music
There are many ways to tell a story. Throughout my life I ve find this to be true. As a storyteller
myself, I always try my best to utilize the many different approaches to telling a story. Whether
through music, books, poetry, drawings, films, etc. I ve tried them all. I ve always been fascinated by
other people s stories. I will always try to retell them myself. Most of the time I usually just talk about
them. But once in awhile, I like to use what I think is the most powerful form of storytelling, music.
Music has been part of my life for a while now. Throughout middle school and high school I was in
both Band and Choir. And throughout these years I come to understand the power that music has with
storytelling. Especially in films, I ve grown up watching films and they have impacted my life greatly.
The films, Jesus Christ Super Star, La La Land, and The Grand Budapest Hotel have a musical score
that expresses a story better than any words could ever express.
I grew up Catholic, just as my family grew up Catholic. Every year during the season of Lent, around
the time of Holy Week, my family and I would honor Jesus s final days with many traditions.
Tradition such as attending mass, receiving palms, having our feet washed and of course watching the
1974 classic Jesus Christ Superstar. Now the Roman Catholic Church dosen t considered Jesus Christ
Superstar a tradition, but I do. My family and I will all get together and eat some popcorn and drink
some pop.

What Does The Green Light Symbolize In Chapter 1
In the novel The Great Gatsby, there is a lot of symbolism. There are huge, obvious and also small,
hard to see symbolic messages. One of the small and hard to see symbolic messages is the green light
at the end of Daisy s dock. Depending on the things going on in the book, depends on the symbolism
in my eyes. I believe that the green light in chapter 1 means that there is hope, when mentioned in
chapter 5 it means fascination, and in chapter 9, I believe that the green light symbolizes sadness.
In chapter 1 Nick meets Gatsby and they are talking. Gatsby notices the green light and reaches for it.
Gatsby reaches for this green light because he is in love with Tom s wife, Daisy. He used to be in love
with her a long time ago when he was in the military. They could not stay together because he wasn t
rich and couldn t afford a wedding. Some say that Gatsby was in love with Daisy s mansion and not
Daisy. I believe that at this point the green light symbolizes hope. This symbolizes the hope that one
day he and Daisy will be together again and the hope that she is still in love with him because he is
still in love with her. I also believe that this light is a signal for help. ... Show more content on

her arm through his abruptly but he seemed absorbed in what he had just said. Possibly it had occurred

symbolism for fascination. I believe that it is fascinating to Gatsby. I also believe that that this is why

The Land Of The Long White Cloud Essay
Aotearoa, The land of the long white cloud , is known today by many people as New Zealand, the
third most beautiful country in the world. If one is planning on moving there or visiting, it definitely a
country that will not disappoint. New Zealand is known for many things, especially their outstanding
food and their successful economic situation. During 800 C.E. a group of people from Polynesia,
made their way over to New Zealand. In the 17th century the same group of Polynesians evolved as
the Maori, a spiritual group. The Maori are responsible for New Zealand s original name Aotearoa,
The land of the long white cloud . However, that name was changed when a Dutch explorer landed on
their land, he changed the name to New Zealand, after a Dutch province. When the Europeans came to
New Zealand, the Maori tribe was pushed out of their homes, farms and businesses. It was not until
1840 that Britain signed the Treaty of Waitangi, which protected the Maori tribe for fear of the
Europeans. New Zealand was a colony governed by the British until 1907. Now the queen of the
United Kingdom, Queen Elizabeth, only has a small amount of control over New Zealand. The Maori
culture still exists in New Zealand today. Visitors who go to New Zealand can experience their food,
daily rituals, and song and dance if they would like to learn more about their culture. The New

Transitions into new experiences and new phases of life can be problematic with many obstacles to be
overcome by the individual. Changes result in a shift of attitudes, beliefs and values. Set during the

Through the process of Billy s transitions he experiences emotional and physical growth. Stephen

Wilkinson, Billy s family and Billy. A close up of Tony and Jackie respectively reveals to us that Tony
has become the dominant one in the family. This dominance is further reinforced as Tony asks Mrs

Cultural Assimilation Of Hispanic Immigrants
Cultural Assimilation of Latino Immigrants in the United States Latino immigrants have always had
many obstacles when coming into the United States, the difference between the American and the
Latin cultures is what has caused a huge hurdle that immigrants have found hard to overpass. This
obstacle has caused many generations to go through cultural assimilation. Mize et al. (2012) explain
that cultural assimilation is the adaptation of immigrants to unfamiliar cultural patterns, which include
language and the value systems of other cultures. In order for immigrants to be successful in another
country, which is not of their origin; they need to learn how to assimilate to their new homes.
Immigrants have learned that they need to adapt in order to get to experience new opportunities and
also to learn from new cultures that are not theirs (Mize et al., 2012). Immigrants have learned that
they are not leaving behind their own believes and norms, but mixing their norms, this gives them the
opportunity to create and mix their culture with the new. Cultural assimilation can be hard to achieve
because in one hand it is important to change in order to live within a different culture, but on the
other hand it is important for a person to maintain their identity regardless of where they live. At times
immigrants find it difficult to achieve a balance and for many families it is a struggle over generations.
There are different levels of assimilation, some immigrants come to the

The Battle Of Saratoga And The American Revolution
Between 1765 1783 the American Revolution had many different battles that affected its ending
results. One of these battles were the Battle of Saratoga which had a major effect on the American
Revolution. This battle displayed the Americans power to the French, convincing them to join the war
with the Americans. France supplied the American with their advanced weaponry, financial help, and
anything for them to win the war. The Battle of Saratoga became to be known as a major turning point
that changed the course of the American Revolution as it showed that the American army led by
Horatio Gates had resilience to keep up with the British army and then defeat them, even though the
British were thought to have the higher advantage in weaponry, discipline, and economy. This battle
was a key reason for the Americans win in the American Revolution.
In January 28, 1777, the British general John Burgoyne decided to make a plan to isolate New
England from all other colonies forcing the Americans to surrender. His idea was that trying to
isolating New England would separate the American army from their necessities such as their supplies
and economy, and politics in the southern colonies (Battle of Saratoga 1). Burgoyne s plan was to
advance with three columns to meet up in New York. The first column was Burgoyne who led an army
from the south, the second column would be led by Colonel St. Leger who started from Canada. The
last column then would be led by General Howe who

Post General Education Classes
Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think (Albert Einstein). There are
different types of teachers or instructors, those who tell, those who coach, and those who mentor their
students; just as there are different types of schools and classes. Each person chooses their path and
education, either with or with or without support. The teachers in general education classes typically
are more proficient in one specific subject but can generally teach basics of all the traditional studies;
they are not specialized or experts in any one course. Class sizes are generally too large for teachers to
give each individual the needed attention needed to excel. Meanwhile in vocational or CTE classes the
mentors or instructors are certified in their areas of expertise. The classes are compiled of students
who want to be further taught skills needed for a profession and learn better in a more hands on
atmosphere.

Rembrandt s Samson Tells a Riddle at His Feast
The distinguished painting, Samson Tells a Riddle at his Feast, by artist Rembrandt Harmensz van
Rijn, interprets the knowledgeable scene of a biblical figure, Samson, and his wife at their wedding
feast. Judges 14 of the Bible details the background story of the painting how Samson met a Philistine
woman and chose her as his wife. Before he can take his new bride s hand in marriage, Samson is

Oddly, Samson finds a swarm of bees surrounding a honeycomb inside the lion s carcass. From this

His choice to withhold this information from her is correct in judgment, however, because she will in
fact spread the answer to the riddle eventually in the future. Samson s position in the painting is facing
away from his wife and leaning suspensefully out of his seat. This may be a hint that Samson will
soon leave his wife later in the story.
Another evidentiary observation about Samson s wife is that she clearly feels that she doesn t belong,
even at her own dinner party! Everything in her appearance is completely different from the others in
the painting. Not only is she sitting in solitude, but she is the only character in the painting whose gaze
is toward the viewer. It s as if the viewers of the painting are the only ones who will pay her any sort
of attention. Her posture is similar to the way one would take a portrait. In fact, Samson Tells a Riddle
at his Feast could be viewed as a lonely portrait of a single woman, despite the busy crowd of people
among her.
How ironic that Rembrandt has focused this entire painting around making Samson s wife the center
of the painting, especially when she remains nameless and does not even appear in the painting s title,
Samson Tells a Riddle at his Feast. This face could also hint that Rembrandt himself is ignoring
Samson s wife, by forgetting her in the title. Samson, after all, is not primarily featured in this
painting.
Another connection and element of clarity is introduced once Rembrandt s

Yucatan Peninsula Maya
Maya The Yucatan Peninsula is the exposed portion of the larger Yucatan Peninsula, all of which is
composed of carbonate and soluble rocks, being mostly limestone although dolomite and evaporites
are also present at various depths. The whole of the Yucatán Peninsula is an unconfined flat lying karst
landscape. Sinkholes, known locally as cenotes, are widespread in the northern lowlands. The Yucatan
peninsula usually experienced tropical weather. The Mayans grew corn, farmers also cultivated beans,
squash, and fruit trees. Black beans and red beans contributed protein to the Maya diet. Numerous
varieties of squash and pumpkin were grown. Droughts were one of the biggest threats to Mayan
farms. The Mayans found a way to store water in case of droughts. The Mayans used a farming
technique called slash and burn. Slash and burn meant that you would burn down forests and the land
that was leftover would be your farm. The leftover ash from slash and burn is very good for plants.

Eassy On Identity
Growing up in a household with parents of two different religious backgrounds has contributed to my
identity and continues to act as an important factor in what defines me as a person. My mom was
raised as a Lutheran Christian, and my dad was raised as Jewish. As a child, sharing this information
with my peers around the holiday season made me quickly grow accustomed to hearing, wow, so that
means you get, like, double the presents! Even though this may be true, coming from a religiously
diverse family impacts my life in ways much more significant than just double the presents. It has
provided me with different experiences to learn about both faiths and to gain a better understanding of

My dad does, however come with us to the Christmas and Easter services out of respect, although he
doesn t participate in any of the singing or the taking of Holy Communion.Because my family wants
to respect both religions, my parents decided that it was best to celebrate all of the Jewish holidays as
well. My dad is very proud of his faith, and over the year she has really enjoyed teaching my siblings
and me all about the different holidays and their significance. He attends temple every once in awhile,
but he has never asked any of us to go with him, nor have we asked him. In the future I would like to
go, because I want to see Judaism in a more formal way, rather than just in my house. I feel very lucky
that I am educated about the Jewish culture, because it tends to get overlooked in today s society.
Through celebrating the Jewish holidays like Rosh Hashanah, Passover, and Yom Kippur, I have been
introduced to many new types of foods, traditions, and prayers. One of my favorite Jewish traditions
happens during Passover. The tradition consists of my dad hiding the afikomen, which is a half piece
of matzo, the unleavened bread typically eaten during Passover. The tradition brought so much joy to
my siblings and me because we tried to watch my dad very carefully to see where he hid it, but he
somehow always found a way to hide it without us knowing when and where he did so. After the
traditional Passover meal was finished, my siblings and I would race up out of our chairs to go wildly
search for it. Whichever kid found it first was given a prize, and it was usually a few bucks, so we
were always very competitive in trying to find it. Eventually, I wasn t allowed to look for it anymore
because I got too old, which I found very unfair, but my brother and sister loved it because now they
had a better chance of finding it first. My dad loves carrying out this tradition, because it reminds him
of when he was young and playing

society as a whole, as we remember the popularity not only by black culture, but by white and Latino
as well. As Priest rises over adversity, and takes his success, not only does he maintain a financial
edge, but one that kicks butt towards the end of the movie. Yet, it is this same notion that is the
downfall for Clay in The Dutchman . As a woman of thirty, with no sexual virtue who is mentally ill,
Lula in the story is the picture of what white society has deemed invaluable and powerless. However,
when opposed to Clay, a young man with and education, the traditional would be image of success and

Farideh Goldin s Memoir Wedding Song recounts the author s childhood living in the Jewish
community of Iran. Her dedication to detail and collection of stories to not only talk about the past but
also about the present and the traditions that come with it draws in an audience intrigued by what is to
come next. The author s collection of memoirs draws themes about abuse and sexual misconduct, age
old customs, education, and sexism in order to emphasize the struggles of being an Iranian Jew. Abuse
inside and outside the home plays a central role in Wedding Song as Farideh recounts multiple stories
of her classmates and her own experiences with older men inappropriately touching her..The issue of
abuse also comes into play from other families especially when one of Farideh s classmates, Golee,
describe how the girl s father would caress her back and put her hands in her panties...and lick his
fingers (Pg. 112). This made me feel so disgusted and also sad for the girl because she assumed
everyone s father did the same. It made me question how this was even allowed or what kind of
twisted parent would do this to their child. Another theme that was emphasized were age old rituals
and customs to fix problems. I found it so interesting when it came to the grandmother s health, there
were multiple remedies from leeches to going to a soothsayer. At first, they believed she has just fallen

Fair Trade USA growth has been phenomenal. Initially after first year of its inception, it started
certifying one million pounds of coffee. Today it is certifying more than 1 billion pounds of coffee per

Ft USA got into valuable partnerships with Starbucks, Pepsi co, Whole foods and others and received
55 % brand recognition amongst its consumers in USA. Though the growth looks tremendous, FT
USA currently certifies less than 6 % of all coffee consumed in the U.S. Rice has then thought how the

the pursuit of deep and effective social impact with real market penetration that will better match its
existing widespread consumer brand recognition.
FT USA benefitted over seven million people in developing countries and helped rural families who
were in poverty. FT USA ensured that its label means ensured strict adherence to a rigorous set of

This is done to prevent other individuals, who may be able to see the user s computer screen, from
viewing the password as plain text. In order to insure the correct amount of keystrokes by the user, the
star or dot remains on the screen. However, the text is not displayed for the world to see. Hidden input
controls are extremely useful when performing data entry tasks with a database driven web
application. Often, the forms used to edit data are in reference to an entry within the database that has
an integer primary key. This key is usually arbitrary integer that increments automatically, provides
indexing, and has absolutely no meaning to the user. When the user selects to update the data, it is
important that the systems knows what ID is being updated. However, there is no reason to display
this ID to the user. In order to submit the ID of the edited database record along with the modified
form fields, the ID can be assigned to a hidden input control. Data integrity with input controls is
achieved both by the nature of the controls themselves and basic script validation techniques. As far as
scripting is concerned, each data field can be easily verified upon submit before sending the data to
the server. For the types of input controls chosen, selecting inappropriate input controls can result in
data integrity issues. A text input control is rather straight forward. It is also the easiest field to

bright tyger and objects coming down from the skies and from the ground. Also imagery is used when
Blake declares the stars threw down their spears . This depicts that the heavens are throwing down
objects at the lion. This gives the poem a scared feeling and a magical component because the heavens
can not literally throw things down to earth so the must be using magic or dreaming that the heavens

about children s bible stories and pictures that depict a lion or a lamb. In this case the reader can make
the connection that the tyger is the lion and in the bible story the lion is the king of the world or God.

Theory Of Purchasing Power Parity
Literature Review
Theory Development
Dating back to the XVI century, the theory of purchasing power parity are developed and studied since
then in Spain. However, this theory of PPP attracts the scholars till the XX century due to the
contribution of a Swedish scholar Gustav Cassel in 1910s (Taylor, 2006). Cassel presented PPP theory
using an equivalent term theoretical rate of exchange three years ago before he first defined the term
PPP and place it into a systematic framework. Additionally, Cassel is also the first person who tested
PPP empirically. The cumulative CPI inflation rates of different countries are suggested to be
calculated and used to obtain the most effective exchange rate by Cassel to maintain the parity of

It should be noticed that LOP holds only when transaction costs are ignored and the trading goods are
identical. However, LOP does not always hold in practice, according to Taylor and Taylor (2004),
factors like tariffs, transportation costs, non tariffs barriers and transaction costs violate the LOP.
Engel and Rogers found that there is a positive relationship between the price differentials and the
distance between cities in their study of comparable goods price differentials in US and Canada, it is
obvious that transportation costs is the main factor that cause this price differential.
As for Absolute Purchasing Power Parity, it is a more comprehensive way to measure PPP and its
equation is as follows:
∑▒P_i =E∑▒P_i^*
In which the sums are consumer price index instead of the good price. CPI represents the fluctuation
of goods prices in a period and it contains a basket of different goods so can bring PPP to a more
general situation. However, there are some problems associated with the absolute version of PPP. It
needs to be considered that which CPI should be taken into account and how to deal with the
fluctuation of CPI over time.
In order to overcome the problems associated with the absolute version of PPP, the relative PPP is
introduced. It is similar to

Analysis Of Ronald Harry Coase s The Marginal Cost...
Ronald Harry Coase, an Emeritus Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago Law School.
Dr. Couse was awarded a Nobel Prize in Economics in 1991 for his work in the field of the Theory of
Market Institutions contributing to the line between economics, law and organization. The foundations
of Couse s beliefs were that serious economists should not study theoretical markets and instead
should concentrate all their efforts on real world markets. Dr. Coase is best known for two well
established articles The Nature of the Firm (1937) and The Problem of Social Cost (1960). The book
itself if a collection of these two critically acclaimed articles and three additional articles; The
Marginal Cost Controversy (1946), Industrial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Coase s main points brought together in his introduction and additional notes, but drawn from his
scholarly articles begin with the concept that the choice between how a firm is organized and how the
market is organized is varied and will continue to be varied, but not because of changes in technology.
Instead, both individual firms and the market as a whole are organized so that each attempts to
minimize or economize inherent transaction costs. Coase goes on to explain that the study of these
tangible and material transaction costs is actually a study of opportunity cost. Charlie Munger, Warren
Buffet s less media attention grabbing partner, explains opportunity costs very succinctly and points a
finger in the eye of economic professors; Everything is based on opportunity costs. Academia has
done a terrible disservice: they teach in one sentence in first year economics about opportunity costs,
but that s it. In life, if opportunity A is better than B, and you have only one opportunity, you do A.
This is Coase s point, that firms and the market deal with the information at hand and make decisions
in a world of scarce resources. Given a choice between A and B, then the one with the maximized
value will be logically chosen every time. If in the real world study of a firm or market that the logical
choice wasn t chosen, then the economist has not values all the tangible benefits and costs that were
weighed by decision makers,

Difference Between Popper And Empiricism
The truth of science: Empiricists versus Popper versus Kuhn For as far as we know through writings
and drawings people have always been interested in doing some kind of science. The word science
comes from the Latin word scientia , which means knowledge . The Egyptians, Greek, Chinese and
Romans already had ideas about science. Some of these scientific ideas were nicely documented and
preserved. Up until the 20th century people used induction1 as means of proof without questioning the
principles of induction. This paper is going to explain why according to Popper induction was not the
way to do good science . And how Popper thought science 1Induction is a specific form of reasoning
in which the premises of an argument support a conclusion, but do not ensure it.[7] worked. Then
compare this with the way Kuhn argued science worked. 2 Definitions First of all, it s really important
that we re all on the same page. This paper is based on the following assumptions. Knowledge,
intelligence and observation exist in some way or form that depends on the context. Something or

falsification. Which is, instead of trying to prove something is true, you try to prove it s false. If you
find a counter example, the hypothesis is rejected. If you can t falsify2 it, your hypothesis become a
rule until someone can falsify it. So the more you falsify, the closer we get to the truth (according to

The Advantage Of Homeschooling
Homeschooling is a type of education which children are taught at home, usually by their parents or
tutors, instead of in conventional public or private schools. While it is common in some countries,
especially America, according to the Hong Kong Education Bureau (2001), if parents stop their
children from attending school without valid reasons, they might be issued with an attendance order
requiring them to send their children back to school. However, as there were recently controversies

Years ago, breeders and owners did not consider a chihuahua a true chihuahua unless it had an open
molera. One common disorder that the chihuahua can get as well as other toy breeds is called the
reverse sneeze or backwards sneeze . The sneeze sounds like a snorting, honking, wheezing and well
sneezing. It is unknown the exact cause of the sneeze, but most vets say it could be from a sinus
infection, small trachea or maybe an elongated soft palate on the chihuahua that becomes temporarily
misaligned. The reverse sneeze can be caused by many different things like eating or drinking too fast
or playing or pulling to hard on their leashes. The reverse sneeze can just simply happen out of the
blue, and it s not a bad thing for the chihuahua. Tracheal collapse is common in the chihuahua because
the cartilage rings that hold open the airway are fragile. To protect the chihuahua s throat and keep
pressure off the airway vets suggest and

Hela Cells Impact
The scientific development of the HeLa cells has made a huge impact in the medical field. HeLa cells
are a cell line created from the doctors of Johns Hopkins Hospital. These cells are from a woman
named Henrietta Lacks and are considered to be immortal . They are considered to be unique because
they are not like any other normal human cell. This cell line is considered to be a triumph to many
scientists and researchers, but it also had some negative impacts. Many controversies arose from the
development of these cells such as how doctors at Johns Hopkins did not get consent from its patients,
how the Lacks family received nothing even with the success of HeLa cells, and the racial segregation
that has become one of the reasons for the creation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the time when Henrietta Lacks was being treated for her cervical cancer, it was the time of
segregation. Henrietta Lacks was an African American woman who was diagnosed with cancer and
most hospitals were segregated. The Berkeley Science Review s Alexandra Del Carpio states, At the
time, Johns Hopkins was the only option in the area for African Americans seeking medical treatment.
(Del Carpio) Henrietta did not have a choice about which hospital to go to seek treatment. Since Johns
Hopkins was the only hospital to treat black people, she could not even make a decision about which
hospital to go to. In bigpictureeducation.com, they exclaim, Henrietta Lacks did receive free health
care treatment for her cervical cancer, but, as she was African American, she had to travel miles to a
segregated hospital to be treated. (Big Picture) Notwithstanding Johns Hopkins provides Henrietta
with free healthcare, she has to travel a distance to receive this care. Nobody knew about the struggles
that Henrietta has dealt with by Rebecca Skloot helped her share her story. Rebecca Skloot is an
author who specializes in the science and medical category and is mostly known for her book The
Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. In this book she writes, Henrietta was a black woman born of
slavery and sharecropping who fled north for prosperity, only to have her cells used as tools by white
scientists without her consent. (Skloot) For the reason that Henrietta was black, the doctors at Johns
Hopkins thought that they were capable of doing whatever they wanted with her. They viewed her as
an experiment Considering her cells are unlike others and they never asked her for her permission.
The racial aspect played a huge role in the impact of HeLa cells. If they did not occur, then the whole
world would not have the knowledge of today s modern

The Magnicent Earth s Surface
One other aspect of the magnificent earth is the surface itself. The layers of the Earth are very
different in their composition. The crust, mantle, and core of the earth are all very fascinating. Also, a
theory called plate tectonics attempts to explain many phenomena that occur on the surface of the
earth, such as earthquakes. Some properties of the earth s surface are its layers, the plate tectonics
theory, and earthquakes. The layers of the earth are very complex. These layers are the crust, mantle,
and core (Wile 132). The core is divided into two regions: the inner core and the outer core (Wile
131). Earth s crust is defined as Earth s outermost layer of rock (Wile 132). The thickness of the crust
averages 55 to 12 miles (Wile 132). In addition to rock, the crust of the earth contains soil and
sediment (Wile 132). Sediment is defined as small, solid fragments of rock and other materials that are
carried and deposited by wind, water, or ice (Wile 132). Sedimentary rock is also found on the earth s
crust. Sedimentary rock is rock formed when chemical reactions cement sediments together, hardening
them (Wile 133). Igneous rock, rock that forms from molten rock , is also found in the crust (Wile
133). Melted rock that cools and re solidifies becomes igneous rock (Wile 133). The last kind of rock
in the crust is called meromorphic rock (Wile 133). This is igneous or sedimentary rock that has been
changed into a new kind of rock as a result of great pressure

The Elections of 1948 and 2004 Essay
The Elections of 1948 and 2004
The elections of 1948, and 2004 had many similarities. In both elections we had the two major
political parties, plus a third independent party. We had a war going on, polls trying to predict the
election, and two main candidates working on getting elected. The elections did have some differences
though. Money spent, mediums campaigned through, and the number of votes for the third party.
Despite the differences, there was one main similarity that stood out between the two elections, the
type of rhetoric used to sway votes from both sides.
In the election of 1948 Thomas Dewey rarely gave any plans, and even more rarely would he ever try
to tell us why he would make a better president than ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In his second attempt, he ran against incumbent President Truman. It may have been his second
attempt, but it was the first attempt by pollers to predict the outcome of a presidential election. The
polling agencies were quite sure Truman would be defeated. It could be that the polls were totally
wrong, or perhaps the polls effected the campaigns in an unexpected way. We do know that the
campaign of Dewey was effected by the polls. Since they showed him so far ahead, Dewey did little in
the way of campaigning. His running mate was so dissatisfied with the lack of campaigning he was
quoted as saying, Just once, I d like to call someone an S.O.B. ( 1948: The Great Truman Surprise )
Towards the end of the campaign though, the polls showed the gap closing, but everyone figured it
was too little too late. The Chicago Tribune even had printed its paper with a headline proclaiming
Dewey s victory.
The campaign although almost nonexistent, did still have a few of interesting propaganda pieces. The
first of which, the least persuasive one, was a simple pin on button with a giant H on the left side to
form the words Help Harry Hurry Home. There really are no persuasive words here at all. Instead, it is
more of a bandwagon/rally phrase, so it would loosely fit into the category of pathos. Next would
again be a pin. It read Don t be an vote for Dewey ( Collecting Thomas E.

The Rise Of Musculoskeletal Disorders
The increase of sedentary leisure and work related activities has also brought the rise of
musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) and now account for 31% of non fatal work related injuries making
them the most common (Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2016). Therefore, it is highly advantageous to
employers to suggest ways of reducing symptoms to theoretically reduce costs associated with MSDs
in the workplace (sick leave, medical costs, etc.). Work related MSDs are caused by complex
combination of factors that can extend from beyond the workplace and cause pain and discomfort of
muscles, tendons, joints, and nerves (Rodrick, Karwowski, Marras, 2012). As a result, finding a single
root cause of a MSD is nearly impossible. Due to the difficulty in ... Show more content on

Despite classification as strong studies, by previous systematic analyses, each study was again
reviewed for validity and reliability for inclusion. All studies must meet the following requirements:
random controlled trials, replicable studies, are not confounded with additional simultaneous
interventions, utilize resistance exercises targeted to the neck/shoulder area, are workplace related, and
including participants that had been experiencing pain related to the neck/shoulder prior to the
intervention. Types of exercises being performed Of the RCTs with significant data, the majority of
interventions slowly increased the level of resistance as the intervention progressed (Andersen, et al.,
2012; Caputo, Bari, Orellana, 2017; Jay, et al., 2011). However, one intervention tested two groups
against one other where one underwent progressive change and the other remained at a fixed level of
resistance and despite finding a significant decrease in pain symptoms overall did not find a
significant difference between the two groups (Li, et al., 2017). This suggests that it is not critical to
increase difficulty during the intervention, to achieve relief from neck/shoulder pain. A few of the
RCTs were also measuring increases in strength, wherein an increase in resistance may be necessary
to continually build strength, but it is not necessary for pain relief. It may also potentially put
individuals at risk of more

The Equal Employment Opportunities Commission
The Equal Employment Opportunities Commission (EEOC) is in charge of implementing government
laws such as Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, 1964 and Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act
of 1990 (ADA), which make it unlawful to oppress an occupation candidate or a worker in light of the
individual s race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or hereditary data. (US Equal
Employment Opportunities Commission, 2015) The laws apply to a wide range of work
circumstances, including contracting, terminating, advancements, harassment, training, wages, and
benefits. Businesses with no less than 15 representatives are secured by EEOC laws, and additionally
most worker s unions and business agencies are likewise secured. The EEOC has the power to
examine charges of oppression against business employers who are secured by the law. Their part is to
survey the claims in the charge and make a finding based on the results of their investigation. If
discrimination has happened, they attempt to settle the charge. If still they are not effective, they have
the power to file a suit to ensure the people s rights. (US Equal Employment Opportunities
Commission, 2015) Section 2000e 5. [Section 706] of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964
enforcement provisions prevent unlawful employment practices such as harassment, including sexual
harassment. Marwan not only passed salacious comments and motions at one of his co workers, but

How Did Galileo Galilei Impact The World
All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered, but the point is to discover them. This was
a famous quote said by the great Galileo Galilei. The quote basically defines the method of
discovering things first, then understanding the truths and facts. This quote relates to my thesis by
showing the positive outcomes out of Galileo and the discoveries he has made. Galileo Galilei was,
known as the father of science, was an important and influential figure in history that had a
positive/negative impact on the world because of the inconvenient discoveries he made. For example,
the way he discovered that the world was not flat, but round gave many difficulties for many to
understand. Not only that, but he did also discover the four ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Not only that, but he was human like the rest of us and he had gone through pitfalls just like us as
well. Due to the trials and other such person things he had to face. Despite those circumstances,
Galileo Galilei did impact this world in a positive and negative way. The positive outcome that came
out of him was how the world see s everything right now. As america now, they can discover new
things and send people into space and other things such as not being scared to sail the sea and fall of
the crest of the world. To add on, because of this notice in space that galileo did, impacted on how
movies and other ideas were created. For example, star wars.
Now maybe not all came out positive though. The negative impact was that because of these
astonishing discoveries, religious people started to question their religious beliefs. Problems started to
happen more because of belief in other things. This caused holy wars and other aspects in how they
viewed their life. As well as a major world time event, the thirty years of war in between the catholics
and protestant in europe was a big event. Not to mention a well as the several plagues in europe during
that time and the death of queen

My Desire For An Electric Guitar
Ever since I was younger I had this urge to play various instruments. No one in my family played an
instrument so there was no influence there for me. The only muse I had was from music and the
television shows that I watched. Moreover, from that influence I thought all the people who knows
how to play an instrument are remarkably nifty. The quality of sounds that the musicians are able to
produce made me feel like I was put into a trance. The intense passion that the musicians produced
gave me an itch to recreate the same feeling for myself to ignite something within me. Thus, the four
instruments that I have acquired over time, but haunts me from being left untouched for a prolonged
time.
Around the age of seven, my family and I went to the mall that included a music store. I would roam
all around the store to experiment with almost every instruments that were put on display. This led to
the first instrument that I got, which was an electric guitar. I would continually beg my mother for it,
promising that I will be the most exceptional child ever. Now I don t fully recall as to why I had a
desire for an electric guitar, but I do remember there was a time in my life that my brothers and I
wanted to form a band. Which was a ridiculous idea because neither of us knew how to play an
instrument or how to sing, so our band would have been a tremendous fiasco. I was ecstatic with the
new guitar I received that as soon as we came home I went berserk upon opening it. I even have

Paper Planner
I am definitely a person who likes to feel like I have accomplished something at the end of each day. It
makes me feel like the day wasn t wasted. Normally, I use a paper planner to schedule all the things
that need to get done. For our class assignment, I used the calendar app in Office 365 to create my
schedule. It took me way longer than expected to get it the way I wanted, so I will probably stay with
paper planning. My family and job rank with school as my main priorities. This doesn t leave much
free time. I knew I was busy, but seeing it on paper is almost frightening. Once the regular school year
resumes in the fall, I will have a lot less time. Seeing the lack of extra time in my schedule pushes me
to be more intentional with the time I have. I try to focus on spending time being with my children
whenever possible. My girls and I have a favorite show we watch together before bed. I bought a pool
with my overtime check so we could enjoy the summer together ... Show more content on

I planned it in two hour blocks with a break in between to spend with my family. I have not been able
to study in the specific time slots that I put in my schedule but I do try to study at least four hours a
day. I also read while I am at work if my students don t need me.
Knowing that I have my class work scheduled to be done with days to spare in case of an emergency
is encouraging. I also enjoy knowing what needs to be done every day in order to stay on track. On the
other hand, it is discouraging to not be able to work uninterrupted in those blocks of time that I have
set aside to get my school work completed. My children come in to talk to me frequently, while I am
trying to study, slowing me down. I have had a friend offer to let me come to her house to work
without interruptions. This may be something that I have to start doing. My classes are taking a lot of
time right now. I hope I will work faster as I adjust to being a student

  • 2. Ancient Egypt History Egyptian History Egypt is a county whose history dates back to at least 2600 BCE. With that long of a timeline, it is easy to understand how diverse and interesting their history is. The main part of Egypt s history has been divided into three main sections, the Old kingdom, the Middle Kingdom, and the New Kingdom. Each kingdom has it s own stories to tell that make it completely different from the last. From the culture to the pharaohs that were ruling and even the innovations that they were able to achieve, each kingdom was able to flourish in it s own way. The Old Kingdom of Egypt is believed to have started around 2686 BCE and have lasted to around 2180 BCE (Duiker). The capital of the Old Kingdom is believed to have been in Memphis. During this time, according to stories passed down through tradition, Egypt consisted of many populated areas that were all ruled by tribal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Middle Kingdom is believed to have started around 2055 BCE and ended around 1650 BCE (Duiker) when Nebhepetre Mentuhotep II was able to reunited Upper and Lower Egypt (Metropolitan). The Middle Kingdom showed an age of transformation with the capital being moved to Thebes (Metropolitan). Art was also transformed during this time. Writing had already began toward the end of the Old Kingdom for records, but now it was used to record and tell the stories that were normally passed down through generations orally. I m sure it s still going on somewhere in the Blogosphere, but I guess it has gone lame. The argument is that guest blogging will help generate links, exposure and traffic to your own blog. Obviously, this is the motivation that got many bloggers posting on other people s blogs to gain that extra mileage. In a sense, guest bloggers are like butterflies or grasshoppers. If you want to move in the fast lane, once you joined the blogging community, you might think guest blogging would enhance the user experience. Paramount Decision Of 1948 The Paramount decision of 1948 and the Hollywood blacklist altered the direction of the filmmaking business in America, one that I believe has had a lasting impression for decades. The Paramount decision of 1948 refers to a court decision against the major film companies, Paramount, Warner Bros., 20th Century Fox, Loew s MGM, Columbia, Universal and United Artists to outlaw their price fixing and monopolization of the industry. The Hollywood blacklist referred to a list of studio employees from 1947 until 1957 that were linked to association to the Communist party, and were to be blacklisted form the film industry indefinitely, or until made innocent of their involvement. The movie also talks about the infamous 18 1/2 minute gap on the White House tapes symbolizes a dark hole inside the president s soul, a secret that Nixon hints at but never reveals. What is implied is that somehow a secret CIA operation against Cuba, started with Nixon s knowledge during the last years of the Eisenhower administration, turned on itself and somehow led to the assassination of John F. The movie takes place in the remote and mountainous regions of Algeria in 1959 where the French army is fighting with the Fellagha (Algerian insurgents). If Algeria is France, then why are Algerians not treated equally as French citizens? The captain replies, You ll come around, just like we all did. The nature and system of the conflict was the issue, not the actual atrocities committed by both sides. Those wrongful attacks or methods were results of the main political differences of the French and Algerians. For me, I wonder if France truly tried to assimilate Algeria and give Algerians the same citizenship and rights as Frenchmen, would the FLN be this violent and adamant about independence? This obstacle has caused many generations to go through cultural assimilation. Mize et al. (2012) explain that cultural assimilation is the adaptation of immigrants to unfamiliar cultural patterns, which include language and the value systems of other cultures. In order for immigrants to be successful in another country, which is not of their origin; they need to learn how to assimilate to their new homes. Immigrants have learned that they need to adapt in order to get to experience new opportunities and also to learn from new cultures that are not theirs (Mize et al., 2012). Immigrants have learned that they are not leaving behind their own believes and norms, but mixing their norms, this gives them the opportunity to create and mix their culture with the new. Cultural assimilation can be hard to achieve because in one hand it is important to change in order to live within a different culture, but on the other hand it is important for a person to maintain their identity regardless of where they live. Another evidentiary observation about Samson s wife is that she clearly feels that she doesn t belong, even at her own dinner party! Everything in her appearance is completely different from the others in the painting. Not only is she sitting in solitude, but she is the only character in the painting whose gaze is toward the viewer. In fact, Samson Tells a Riddle at his Feast could be viewed as a lonely portrait of a single woman, despite the busy crowd of people among her. How ironic that Rembrandt has focused this entire painting around making Samson s wife the center of the painting, especially when she remains nameless and does not even appear in the painting s title, Samson Tells a Riddle at his Feast. In the future I would like to go, because I want to see Judaism in a more formal way, rather than just in my house. I feel very lucky that I am educated about the Jewish culture, because it tends to get overlooked in today s society. Through celebrating the Jewish holidays like Rosh Hashanah, Passover, and Yom Kippur, I have been introduced to many new types of foods, traditions, and prayers. One of my favorite Jewish traditions happens during Passover. The tradition consists of my dad hiding the afikomen, which is a half piece of matzo, the unleavened bread typically eaten during Passover. The tradition brought so much joy to my siblings and me because we tried to watch my dad very carefully to see where he hid it, but he somehow always found a way to hide it without us knowing when and where he did so. After the traditional Passover meal was finished, my siblings and I would race up out of our chairs to go wildly search for it. Whichever kid found it first was given a prize, and it was usually a few bucks, so we were always very competitive in trying to find it. Eventually, I wasn t allowed to look for it anymore because I got too old, which I found very unfair, but my brother and sister loved it because now they had a better chance of finding it first. The author s collection of memoirs draws themes about abuse and sexual misconduct, age old customs, education, and sexism in order to emphasize the struggles of being an Iranian Jew. This made me feel so disgusted and also sad for the girl because she assumed everyone s father did the same. Often, the forms used to edit data are in reference to an entry within the database that has an integer primary key. This key is usually arbitrary integer that increments automatically, provides indexing, and has absolutely no meaning to the user. When the user selects to update the data, it is important that the systems knows what ID is being updated. However, there is no reason to display this ID to the user. In order to submit the ID of the edited database record along with the modified form fields, the ID can be assigned to a hidden input control. Coase s main points brought together in his introduction and additional notes, but drawn from his scholarly articles begin with the concept that the choice between how a firm is organized and how the market is organized is varied and will continue to be varied, but not because of changes in technology. Instead, both individual firms and the market as a whole are organized so that each attempts to minimize or economize inherent transaction costs. Coase goes on to explain that the study of these tangible and material transaction costs is actually a study of opportunity cost. Charlie Munger, Warren Buffet s less media attention grabbing partner, explains opportunity costs very succinctly and points a finger in the eye of economic professors; Everything is based on opportunity costs. Academia has done a terrible disservice: they teach in one sentence in first year economics about opportunity costs, but that s it. In life, if opportunity A is better than B, and you have only one opportunity, you do A. This is Coase s point, that firms and the market deal with the information at hand and make decisions in a world of scarce resources. Given a choice between A and B, then the one with the maximized value will be logically chosen every time. • 42. The Elections of 1948 and 2004 Essay The Elections of 1948 and 2004 The elections of 1948, and 2004 had many similarities. In both elections we had the two major political parties, plus a third independent party. We had a war going on, polls trying to predict the election, and two main candidates working on getting elected. The elections did have some differences though. Money spent, mediums campaigned through, and the number of votes for the third party. Despite the differences, there was one main similarity that stood out between the two elections, the type of rhetoric used to sway votes from both sides. In the election of 1948 Thomas Dewey rarely gave any plans, and even more rarely would he ever try to tell us why he would make a better president than ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In his second attempt, he ran against incumbent President Truman. It may have been his second attempt, but it was the first attempt by pollers to predict the outcome of a presidential election. The polling agencies were quite sure Truman would be defeated. It could be that the polls were totally wrong, or perhaps the polls effected the campaigns in an unexpected way. We do know that the campaign of Dewey was effected by the polls. Since they showed him so far ahead, Dewey did little in the way of campaigning. His running mate was so dissatisfied with the lack of campaigning he was quoted as saying, Just once, I d like to call someone an S.O.B. ( 1948: The Great Truman Surprise ) Towards the end of the campaign though, the polls showed the gap closing, but everyone figured it was too little too late. The Chicago Tribune even had printed its paper with a headline proclaiming Dewey s victory. The campaign although almost nonexistent, did still have a few of interesting propaganda pieces. The first of which, the least persuasive one, was a simple pin on button with a giant H on the left side to form the words Help Harry Hurry Home. There really are no persuasive words here at all. Instead, it is more of a bandwagon/rally phrase, so it would loosely fit into the category of pathos. Next would again be a pin. It read Don t be an vote for Dewey ( Collecting Thomas E. ... • 43. The Rise Of Musculoskeletal Disorders The increase of sedentary leisure and work related activities has also brought the rise of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) and now account for 31% of non fatal work related injuries making them the most common (Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2016). Therefore, it is highly advantageous to employers to suggest ways of reducing symptoms to theoretically reduce costs associated with MSDs in the workplace (sick leave, medical costs, etc.). Work related MSDs are caused by complex combination of factors that can extend from beyond the workplace and cause pain and discomfort of muscles, tendons, joints, and nerves (Rodrick, Karwowski, Marras, 2012). As a result, finding a single root cause of a MSD is nearly impossible. Due to the difficulty in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Despite classification as strong studies, by previous systematic analyses, each study was again reviewed for validity and reliability for inclusion. All studies must meet the following requirements: random controlled trials, replicable studies, are not confounded with additional simultaneous interventions, utilize resistance exercises targeted to the neck/shoulder area, are workplace related, and including participants that had been experiencing pain related to the neck/shoulder prior to the intervention. Types of exercises being performed Of the RCTs with significant data, the majority of interventions slowly increased the level of resistance as the intervention progressed (Andersen, et al., 2012; Caputo, Bari, Orellana, 2017; Jay, et al., 2011). However, one intervention tested two groups against one other where one underwent progressive change and the other remained at a fixed level of resistance and despite finding a significant decrease in pain symptoms overall did not find a significant difference between the two groups (Li, et al., 2017). This suggests that it is not critical to increase difficulty during the intervention, to achieve relief from neck/shoulder pain. A few of the RCTs were also measuring increases in strength, wherein an increase in resistance may be necessary to continually build strength, but it is not necessary for pain relief. It may also potentially put individuals at risk of more ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 45. How Did Galileo Galilei Impact The World All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered, but the point is to discover them. This was a famous quote said by the great Galileo Galilei. The quote basically defines the method of discovering things first, then understanding the truths and facts. This quote relates to my thesis by showing the positive outcomes out of Galileo and the discoveries he has made. Galileo Galilei was, known as the father of science, was an important and influential figure in history that had a positive/negative impact on the world because of the inconvenient discoveries he made. For example, the way he discovered that the world was not flat, but round gave many difficulties for many to understand. Not only that, but he did also discover the four ... Due to the trials and other such person things he had to face. Despite those circumstances, Galileo Galilei did impact this world in a positive and negative way. The positive outcome that came out of him was how the world see s everything right now. As america now, they can discover new things and send people into space and other things such as not being scared to sail the sea and fall of the crest of the world. To add on, because of this notice in space that galileo did, impacted on how movies and other ideas were created. For example, star wars. Now maybe not all came out positive though. The negative impact was that because of these astonishing discoveries, religious people started to question their religious beliefs. Problems started to happen more because of belief in other things. • 46. My Desire For An Electric Guitar Ever since I was younger I had this urge to play various instruments. No one in my family played an instrument so there was no influence there for me. The only muse I had was from music and the television shows that I watched. Moreover, from that influence I thought all the people who knows how to play an instrument are remarkably nifty. The quality of sounds that the musicians are able to produce made me feel like I was put into a trance. The intense passion that the musicians produced gave me an itch to recreate the same feeling for myself to ignite something within me. Thus, the four instruments that I have acquired over time, but haunts me from being left untouched for a prolonged time. Around the age of seven, my family and I went to the mall that included a music store. I would roam all around the store to experiment with almost every instruments that were put on display. This led to the first instrument that I got, which was an electric guitar. I would continually beg my mother for it, promising that I will be the most exceptional child ever. Now I don t fully recall as to why I had a desire for an electric guitar, but I do remember there was a time in my life that my brothers and I wanted to form a band. Which was a ridiculous idea because neither of us knew how to play an instrument or how to sing, so our band would have been a tremendous fiasco. I was ecstatic with the new guitar I received that as soon as we came home I went berserk upon opening it. I even have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. Paper Planner I am definitely a person who likes to feel like I have accomplished something at the end of each day. It makes me feel like the day wasn t wasted. Normally, I use a paper planner to schedule all the things that need to get done. For our class assignment, I used the calendar app in Office 365 to create my schedule. It took me way longer than expected to get it the way I wanted, so I will probably stay with paper planning. My family and job rank with school as my main priorities. This doesn t leave much free time. I knew I was busy, but seeing it on paper is almost frightening. Once the regular school year resumes in the fall, I will have a lot less time. Seeing the lack of extra time in my schedule pushes me to be more intentional with the time I have. I try to focus on spending time being with my children whenever possible. On the other hand, it is discouraging to not be able to work uninterrupted in those blocks of time that I have set aside to get my school work completed. My children come in to talk to me frequently, while I am trying to study, slowing me down. I have had a friend offer to let me come to her house to work without interruptions.
