Drug Overdose Problem
Drug Overdoses Are A Major Problem In Michigan
Despite the fact that there has been a lot of awareness raised about the dangers of drug overdoses, the
number of drug overdose deaths in Michigan continue to grow. A report released in 2013 showed that
the drug overdose death rate was 4.6 per 100,000. In 2013, the rate of people suffering fatal drug
overdoses was 13.9 per 100,000. This means that there were three times as many fatal drug overdoses
in 2013 than in 1999.
Illicit Drugs Are Not The Only Problem
Illicit drugs are typically come to mind when people think about someone who has died from a fatal
drug overdose. While illicit drug use is a cause for concern, it is not the only problem. In fact, the
number of people dying from a prescription

Characteristics Of A Modern Day Hero
A doctor, a father, and, most importantly, a hero. Someone I would consider a modern day hero is
Derek Shephard, from the TV show Grey´s Anatomy . A hero is someone who is able to help others
without any interest that would benefit him/her behind his actions Derek is a perfect example of a
modern day hero. He is selfless and works as a doctor with the main goal of helping others. Right
before a surgery he says to everyone in the OR: Today is a beautiful day to save lives. Derek is worthy
of the title of a modern day hero because of all his good and selfless actions towards the others. What
is a modern day hero exactly? In order to understand a modern day hero, think about the
characteristics of a classical and epic hero. A classical heroes ... Show more content on

As I said before, he is a person you can bump into easily in your life. He takes care of his family and
takes care of other people too in his job as a doctor. Chief of neurosurgery at Seattle Grace Hospital/
Grey + Sloan Memorial Hospital, Derek has to be brave and smart to look after every patient he has.
Braveness and intelligence are characteristics he has that match the ones classical and epic heroes
have. Even though his challenges are not fighting monsters, he has some pretty hard challenges like
saving a woman from a big aneurism in her brain, and the only powers he has are his skills with a
scalpel in hand. Derek does not fit perfectly the Hero s Journey idea, but he does match it in some
aspects. For example, during his last episode, Derek faces one of his major trials when he saves over
three people on the side of an empty highway after these three people suffered a car accident.
However, right after that, crisis comes and he is hit by the ambulance he called to take the people he
saved, from the highway to a hospital. Derek faces death as a consequence, however he does not come
back to life, because he is not a classical hero with superhuman characteristics, but a simple

Atonement
ENG4Ud October 7, 14 Ian McEwan Atonement Everything we do or have done is affected by the
challenges we face. Whether they are good or bad or if they are from someone in our lives or if it is a
conflict we have to face, these things will be what challenge us to push us harder for our dreams to
come true. Having dreams are a good thing with Briony, hers where to be a famous writer, and this all
started with the play she wanted to through for her brother Leon. Also conflict plays a pretty big roll
with Briony, especially what had happen to her cousin Lola and Paul Marshall. The last one that
impacted the message to Briony was wither her sister Cecilia and Robbie, this was a big controversy
about them never getting back together. No ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But soon as Lola got married to Paul Marshall it final clicked into Briony that Robbie never actually
raped Lola, it was actually Paul Marshall. When Briony figured this out she never looked at Lola ever
again or even contacted her because she had put an innocent man in jail. Even though Briony sent the
wrong person to jail she couldn t look at Lola the same because she never opened her mouth to tell her
the actual person was who raped her and that was mostly an obstacle that Briony had to face. The one
thing that impacted the message to Briony about her conflict between everyone was mostly Cecilia
and Robbie. This wouldn t have happened if Briony never opened up the sexual letter Robbie had
written to Cecilia but gave her the wrong letter and also gave it to Briony to give it to her. Even
though Briony still gave her sister the letter, that night she meet up with Robbie to discuses the letter
but one thing led to another and they started having sex. But Briony walked in on them and thought
that Robbie was raping her. During that same night Briony found Lola in the forest being raped. When
they went back to the house everyone asked who did this to her and the person she thought that did
was Robbie just because earlier she thought that he was doing the same this to Cecilia. Ever since that
day Cecilia has never for gave her for sending her Boyfriend to jail and also he had to serve in the war.

The Ideological Development Of Social Work Practice
The Ideological Development of Social Work Practice In this essay I will be acknowledging the
historical development of class, searching back over centuries and I will also be discussing how this
ideological construct has influenced and impacted contemporary social work practice in Britain.
Ideology is a dominant set of beliefs and values within our society, where certain ideas are reinforced
and guide society in different ways. An example would be the specific characteristics of an individual
or a social group. Ideology is often defined as a body of ideas that reflects the beliefs and interests of a
nation or political system (Oxford English Dictionary, 2014). It is a way of looking at everything, for
instance it is used to look at issues, social change and justice. The definition of ideology is a fluid one
because it can change, but there is just something underpinning it such as the belief that the poor are
lazy people that have not worked hard enough in their lives. This means that there is no set or agreed
definition of ideology. This is because the changing of ideologies have emerged many times in society,
such as following the industrial revolution that occurred in the 19th century, which had class politics
and the change in society resulting in capitalism, post industrial society, social movements and
contemporary ideologies for social change and social work are then discussed in the context of
globalisation. Ideologies really matter due to the reason that in

Traditional and Alternative Teaching
Chapter 1 INTRODUCTION
THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND It is well known that children learn in various ways and
have their own individual styles and strategies. Some may enjoy group works, others individual
works. Some may prefer teacher instructions with worksheets and firm direction, rather than self
generated research projects. There are numerous ways children learn, but how does the surrounding
environment, affects a child s learning ability and influence the learning strategies that employ? Our
society these days are divided into two different ways of thinking on the education. Some may believe
that alternative methods are better than the traditional methods of teaching but yet these two methods
are both a successful ways. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the view of functionalist, Skinner (1953) developed his theory of learning on the concept of
operantconditioning . He offer the organism operates in the environment doing whatever it does.
According to Skinner , while operating, the organisms encounters stimuli to which he referred as
reinforcing stimuli.
Cognitive Leaning Theory A founding father of Cognitive Learning Theory, GagnE (1985) contended
that it is more realistic to assume that there are different kinds of learning, arranged in a hierarchy,
with one sortbeing the prerequisite for the next. For example, solving an algebraic problem depends
on understanding algebraic function, which depends on knowing basic mathematical skills and
computations, which depends on recognizing simple numbers and symbols. For GagnE, simple
conditioning only provided the basis for more advance kind of learning. He built on the behaviorist
model by adding processing or cognitive component to Skinners model.
Conceptual Framework For a better understanding of the study, the conceptual framework is presented
in the paradigm below which consist of independent and dependent variables.
Figure 1: Paradigm of the Study The research paradigm of the study in figure 1 has the dependent
variables which consist of the subjects, materials and classrooms. While the independent variables
consist of the alternative teaching method and traditional

The Bangladesh Genocide
They were essentially waging a peaceful constitutional movement for democracy and autonomy
(p.251). As has been seen throughout the previous discussions on genocides in our history, once again
the discussion proclaims the emergence of one group demonstrating not only prejudice feelings but
the mindset of establishing a totalitarian society. This aspect also occurred during the Bangladesh
genocide that was unleashed by the Pakistani armed officials. The Bangladesh genocide began on
March 25th, 1971 and ended on December 16, 1971. It was during these long nine months that the
Pakistani armed forces, which, with the support of local militant groups, conducted widely

It was also through the next few years that the authorities proclaimed that The Pakistani
government...was primarily responsible for the genocide (p.257). The author of the discussion,
proclaims that not only did the genocide have short term impacts...but also long term impacts that not
only affected the Pakistani/Bangladesh society, but also the rest of the world (who were not affected
by the genocide). A major impact of the genocide was the introduction of violence in Bangladesh
society, politics, and culture. Prior to 1971, Bengalis were a relatively peaceful and homogenous
community with a low level of violent crimes (p.261). Before the war, the Bengalis had been peaceful
people who truly desired and believed that they deserved their autonomy from Pakistan. However,
because of their degree for independence, the Pakistan officials realized that the only way to stop it
from occurring was to set out this genocide. Effectively, the war made the Bengalis realize that the
violence caused their lives to be changed

organized as follows.
Using Entity Framework o Creating a data model from existing database
Creating Web API using Visual Studio o Working with JSON Object in ASP.NET MVC using Angular
Using Angular JS with ASP.NET MVC o Sending and Receiving JSON Object to Angular JS
Using Entity Framework
ActiveX Data Objects (ADO), in .Net framework ADO.Net is a set of classes to expose the data
access services for .Net framework developer. ADO.Net contains the set of components to create
distribution and data sharing applications. Using ADO.Net we can create front end database clients
and data access layer to use by the application. ADO.Net frequently used the application developer to
access database in relational database systems such as SQL, Oracle and so on.
ADO.Net is very powerful framework to use for accessing data. It has been in the market since many
years. ADO.Net Entity Framework is an enhancement to traditional ADO.Net, which enable developer
to develop data access application by using a conceptual data model instead of directly connecting to
the relational database. With Entity Frameworks, the amount of code and the maintenance required for
data oriented application significantly will be

of sturdy adaptive strategies. Instead of only focusing on operating systems and computer software,
Microsoft has expanded to other business ventures in the gaming industry.
The Xbox One derives a great amount of success from its ability to produce very popular video games
that are exclusive to the gaming console. Upon the release of new video game consoles, players often

Microsoft offers the latest in software updates for its consoles but software can only go so far and will
not improve processing speeds or graphic resolution. As time goes by the Xbox is susceptible to being
outdated by something far more innovative with quicker and more powerful hardware. If a more
innovative and appealing device emerges within the coming years the Xbox will need to bring more to
the table to maintain its market share and retain its customers from switching platforms. Not having
any hardware upgrade is a significant issue that can present many issues for the future of the Xbox
One down the road. Another significant show stopping issue for the Xbox One is the price. Although
the high price keeps profit margins up, the high price on the product is limiting the amount of market
share that the Xbox One is capable of capturing, especially when our biggest competition is offering a
very similar console at $100 cheaper. Mobile devices are also a significant threat to the console
market. These devices are with us at all times and have the ability to be played on anywhere. As
mobile devices become more and more powerful they will be able to produce similar gameplay that
consoles offer. Take the mp3 player for example. Before cell phones were able to store and stream
music the mp3 was the device the people used for their music listening needs. Currently the mp3 has

made wildly known artwork out of it. While living at the farm he was inspired for his painting Kansas

painting was one of the first artworks acquired by the Wichita Art Museum. The time on the piece

Introduction. The introduction will provide a contextual overview of the current open visitation
practices within the critical care setting. The introduction will begin by highlighting the American
Association of Critical Care Nurses and Canadian Association of Critical Care Nurses support for
open visitation practices and include the argument that unrestrictive family presences is indicative of
patient and family centered care. Next, the barriers that prevent open visitation and the implications
for practice will be acknowledged. The main barriers preventing open visitation that will be briefly
introduced (a detailed discussion will occur in the later portion of the text), and include skewed
nursing perceptions, gaps in knowledge about the beneficial effects of unrestrictive family presence,
and lack of formal visitation policies. It will be argued that the main implication for practice is
decreased patient and family satisfaction resulting from incongruent visitation practices. Finally, the
solution of educating nurses about the benefits of an open visitation policy on patients and families
will be proposed. Rationale for the solution will be provided. Purpose statement and aims. The
introduction will provide context for the following purpose statement: the purpose of this review
article is to gain a better understanding of how critical care patients and families can benefit from open

What It Means To Be Successful Research Paper
What Does It Mean To Be Successful? Success is something that without a doubt, doesn t manifest so
easily. It is something that people would be compelled to grind down to the dirt for, in order to
advance in everyday life, whether it be social or academic. Success is something that anyone yearns to
gain. It surely doesn t come swiftly, unfortunately, and it won t develop out of thin air. The prevailing
key to having success as I have aforementioned in a metaphorical way, is tough work, moxie, and time
as in managing it. It takes a suitable amount of self constraint, to stay undeviating towards your
direction, and maintain your focus. To become successful, one could try to emulate the tips from the
population of the ones who have already become successful and follow their same tracks or patterns.
Or, an alternative to do by yourself, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

our own worst critics, in addition to others that are around us. Another path leading to success is
formulating a strategy. Contriving a strategic objective, without more than that, will do zilch to
establish its success. The only concreteness and structure will successfully ignite and move it forward.
Begin by slicing your goal into minor sections to lick into shape, making it more workable.
Afterwards, factor in a strategic plan with scheduled activities and outcomes that will help to sell its

Living Without Living
I thought this every hour of every day for a very long time: I want my mother. My mother is dead.
(Strayed). Cheryl Strayed was flooded with an overwhelming amount of grief when she lost her
mother to cancer. In her mind she was too young to die, which left Cheryl angry at her mother for
dying. She lived under the guidance of her mother all of her life, and suddenly it was gone. Many
people find themselves crying in bed for days or months, leaning on their family and friends, or
exercises more in order to find some outlet for their grief. However, Cheryl found the best coping
mechanism to be repeatedly committing adultery on her faithful husband Pete and becoming addicted
to heroin. Throughout her book, Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail, Strayed
expresses remorse, but she does not write as though she is ashamed of her infidelity or drug addiction.
The lack of shame towards her errors is a weakness and reveals a serious flaw in Cheryl s character.
In order to accurately understand why the lack of shame is a character flaw and not a strength we need
to briefly look at the difference between shame and remorse. Shame causes an individual to feel not
only sorrow for their action, but also humilation. The embarrassment helps prevent a person from
repeating their mistakes. On the other hand, when someone experiences remorse they feel regret but
they do not feel embarrassed by their actions. Since their pride is not affected with humiliation, the
person is

Side Effects Of Depressants
Depressants are psychoactive drugs that temporarily diminish the normal function of the brain and
central nervous system (Depressant Drug Abuse and Side Effects, 2017). These drugs include opiates
and opioids, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, tranquilizers, and alcohol. Due to their effects, these drugs
can sometimes be referred to as downers. These drugs come in multicolored tablets and capsules and
sometimes in liquid form. Regular use of any of these drugs can lead to drug tolerance. That means
that the body adjusts to them and it takes a higher and higher dose to achieve the desired effect.
Dependence also can develop from drug use, meaning symptoms of withdraw will occur if the person

Someone who is sleepless and anxious may turn to barbiturates for a desirable effect. However, one of
the reasons that people die on barbiturates is that the dose that will kill a person is not that much more
than the dose that will help them sleep (Barbiturates Effects, 2017). When an individual overdoses on
barbiturates, they can experience side effects such as shallow respiration, clammy skin, a weak and
rapid pulse, and lastly, possibly die from an overdose. Teens may abuse barbiturates so they can
experience the drunken feeling. They may not fully understand that this can be a deadly drug. When
taken in a small dose barbiturates may relieve the individual s anxiety and tension. As they increase
the dose to a somewhat larger dose, in a tranquil setting the drug will induce sleep. In contrast, when
that same large dose is taken in a social setting, however, it can cause effects similar to when a person

When used in high dosages, barbiturates can be used in the operating room as anesthetics. But as

for individuals and institutions and balancing risk against performance. This includes the strengths,
weaknesses, opportunities and threats in the choice of domestic vs. international, growth vs. safety,
and many other trade offs encountered in the attempt to maximize return given the client s risk

The objective of this report is to prepare a report proposing which portfolio is more suitable for the

Despite growth returning to the world economy following the recession of the last three years, one

Justification of Scheme of Work Essay example
Teaching for learning 2:
Justification for scheme of work

Angie Newton
Planning as a whole is an essential aspect of teaching and is even more effective when it s a process
that is collaborative with your colleagues and pupils, therefore enhancing the effectiveness of your
teaching (DCFS, 2011, Mawer, 1995). Schemes of work are a long term planning solution, which
identify the learning opportunities across a whole school year (Gower, 2004). The framework is broad,
so to go alongside the scheme of work, units of work are devised (Robinson Smith, 1995). The
scheme of work should be a broad balance of sporting opportunities for pupils to experience and
participate in different activities.

The pupils would have participated in 2 hours of P.E each week, which supports government
aspirations for pupils to have at least 2 hours per week of high quality P.E undertaken within the
curriculum (QCDA, 2007).
I have presented the scheme like this because can develop their knowledge, skills and understanding
over the 3 years, because they are focusing of different key processes each year. For example in Year 7
Invasion games the pupils focus on assessing their performance to the criteria on 2.1a/b, Refining and
adapting skills to techniques and developing the range of skill that they use. 2.2a is selecting and using
tactics and strategies in different creative, competitive and challenging contexts. (QCDA 2007), which
fit into the sections of developing skills and Making and applying decisions, which is just undertaking

Texting And Driving While Driving
Summary
Texting in cars and trucks causes over 3,000 deaths and 330,000 injuries per year, according to a
Harvard Centre for Risk Analysis study.
Texting while driving a vehicle has now replaced drinking while driving as the leading cause of
accidents and deaths of teenage drivers. Texting in traffic isn t simply a problem among teens and 47%
of adults admit that they text while driving. Texting drivers are 23 times more likely to be involved in
a crash than non texting drivers (Driving while Texting Six Times More Dangerous than Driving while
Drunk, 2014).
A mobile phone while driving is not only physically distracting, but visually distracting as well. A
driver is physically distracted as their hand is moved from the steering wheel to pick up the phone,
answer or end the call, or type a message. A mobile phone visually distracts the driver as their eyes are
taken off the road to look at the phone, when typing a message or reading (Service, 2013).
As a vehicle s speed increases, so does the distance travelled during the driver s reaction time and the
distance needed to stop. Also, the higher the speed, the greater the amount of kinetic energy that must
be absorbed by the impact in a crash. Therefore, as well as being identified as a causal factor in around
40 % of fatal crashes, speed is an aggravating factor in the severity of all crashes.
As speed increases so does the distance travel while brain is processing information and reacting to it
and so does the distance

How Did Josef Mengele Affect The Holocaust

The Cultural Progression Of Latin America Essay
Latin America has had a very complex history since being colonized by Spain, aside from Brazil, to its
current sociopolitical movements. Unfortunately, Latin America s cultural progression did not spread
and blossom as fast as other countries because they were colonized by the retrograded country of
Spain. Due to the general conservatism in Iberian culture, Spain being the cause of that, Latin America
did not follow the steps towards modernity, unlike French colonized countries. After the colonization
period, Latin America spent its time conserving Spanish culture. The Iberian Peninsula culture did not
have the same opening into the modernity that France had. It wasn t until the 1880 s through the 1910
s that modernismo , an anti nationalist literary movement, arose within Latin America itself, making it
a homegrown movement. Modernismo was the rejuvenation of the Spanish language and its literature.
Modernismo s literature boom allowed for the growth of other literature movements including that
magical realism movement. Influenced by the European surrealism movement, authors such as Alejo
Carpentier and Miguel Ángel Asturias started writing magical realism in the 1920 s and 30 s. magical
realism reached it s peak in Latin America in the 1940 s through 1950 s. During this era, political
ideologies such as communism and socialism rose. Marxism was a major contribution and was widely
studied by the educated citizens of Latin America. There are many parallels between Marxist

Victor Frankenstein Moral Analysis
Victor Frankenstein seemingly goes through several moral pitfalls throughout Mary Shelley s novel.
Between playing God and inviting life to be placed upon a concoction of otherwise left over body
parts, or, completely abandoning the Creature during its first second of life. Is either one morally
correct? No. But in my opinion, one is far worse than the other. Frankenstein is equally as defiant of
that of a teenager. As soon as he is told not to do something, there is no turning back, and he must then
follow through with his plan. For example, when he is told by both his father and more forwardly so
by his professor, M. Krempe, that Every minute, every instant that you have wasted on those books is
utterly and entirely lost after he mentioned his studies of natural philosopher s Cornelius Agrippa,
Albertus Magnus, and Paracelsus, Frankenstein immediately finds another professor who enables his
interests and urges him to continue, which he does. However, that all soon spirals out of control and he
finds himself in his laboratory day in and day out, obsessively carrying out his experiment, until
finally, he sparks life into his new creature. Playing God, when one is in fact a mere human, can never
have a good outcome. We as humans have a nasty habit of wanting instant gratification, and in this
case, to also prove the naysayers wrong. As human, there is no way for Frankenstein to ever
understand every possible outcome that may occur after this creature is brought into the

Nevada s Winnings against Protesting a Lottery
Nevada s Winnings against Protesting a Lottery Introducing the option of Nevada having a lottery has
been enticing for many. Although lotteries might provide extra revenue for school, when one takes a

year. People come from all over the states and even the world to gamble in Nevada. 87% of Nevada s
tourists specifically come to play the slot machines, and on average Nevada makes around 9 billion
dollars a year due to the slots. If Nevada had a lottery, these statistics have a high probability of

there are factors that weaken the role of the dad from outside forces. They receive challenges from the

Macbeth s Order Of The Universe
Salma Bora

Pre AP English I
09 March 2017 Macbeth s Order of the Universe
Elizabethan ideologies are based on the Great Chain of Being . The people believe that in an ordered
universe, everything is ranked in order of their superiority. This order coincides with all religious
beliefs as well as the political system. All inhabitants of earth are ranked in the following order: God,
angels, king, man, animals, plants, inorganic material, and lastly, chaos. The king is similar to a God
on earth, so any ill willed acts against the king is a direct attack on God. In The Tragedy of Macbeth
written by William Shakespeare, there is a breakdown of order throughout Scotland when Macbeth
kills King Duncan. This destruction is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, just by wanting to become more manly when she was meant to be a woman by God, Lady
Macbeth is affecting the order of the universe even before the murder even takes place. You lack the
season of all natures, sleep (3.4.140). Sleeping is essential for maintaining health, but since Macbeth
committed unnatural acts of murder against the innocent, his health, along with mentality, is at a risky
state a curse from nature itself all caused by disrupted sleep. Not only is his crime evident in the order
of the universe, but also with his internal order.
The killing of Duncan leads to a very bizarre switch in roles within nature. A falcon, tow ring in her
pride of place,/Was by a mousing owl hawked at and killed, (2.4.13 14). This reversal brings
discomfort, since even the animal kingdom is starting to be affected by the unravelling of chaos. An
even worse example, King Duncan s horses, Beauteous and swift, the minions of their race,/Turn d
wild in nature, broke their stalls, flung out,/War with mankind. (2.4.15 16,18). There is nothing a king
trusts more than his valiant steed, and similarly both Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were trusted vassals
of King Duncan, who was oblivious of their traitorous nature. However, even the most trusty steed can
turn his back on his master upon smelling the faintest scent of fear. Thus, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth
s thirst for power filled to the extent where they were willing to overthrow their master.

The Positive Impact Of Peter The Great s Impact On Russia
Prior to Peter the Great taking reign, the Russian society was in a rough condition. The economy was
failing and the country s standing army was extremely weak. Russia was also in the midst of a war
against the Ottoman Turkish Empire, with a goal to secure a Russian port on the northern coast of the
Black Sea. Peter the Great ruled over Russia from 1682 1752.He tried to form warm water ports so
they had the ability to trade in the in the winter seasons. He also tried to improve Russia and
modernize the culture. As an effect of these things, Peter the Great had an overall positive impact on
Russia during his rule.
Peter the Great was born to Tsar Alexis and grew up differently than many people of his time. Peter
proved a healthy child, lively and inquisitive. It is probably significant to his development that his
mother s former guardian, Artamon Sergeyevich Matveyev, had raised her in an atmosphere open to
progressive influences from the West (Britannica Academica). The fact that he grew up with a
significant figure in his life who favored the west, shaped his views in a major way. Later in his reign,
he focused on western civilizations and how they thrived. Peter tried to implicate the same influences
in Russia to further try and modernize and advance the culture, society, and government. Peter was a
very lively and energetic child. When Alexis died in 1676 Peter was only four years old. His elder half
brother, a sickly youth, then succeeded to the throne as Fyodor

An educational journey consists of effective study habits which will require researching various
sources, managing personal/family life, and balancing work and school. Research is very important. It
will either hurt you or help you, depending on your research skills and time management skills.
Research helps link one s ideas to true and tested studies that can help prove a stance on a particular
subject matter. When one is able to provide information backed up by empirical studies, one s
information can begin to flourish. For example, think about the various magazines that are sold
nationwide. The National Enquirer is seen to be a false, untrue magazine that provides information
about subject matters that are not even true. Even though, the National Enquirer is a great attention
getter, there are surmountable people who know the stories printed inside are not believable. In
regards to research, students should seek out reputable sources that can enhance their writing skills
which in turn will help to write a better paper. Research provides valuable knowledge for the student.
The student may already know the information but the research will give added seasoning to that
knowledge. Just like cooking, one knows how to cook a turkey but, it s the seasonings that will bring
the turkey to life. Those seasoning ideas may come from various individuals.

Legal Protection And Intellectual Property Rights
Intellectual property is defined in the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) as the creation
of the mind. According to WIPO the work does not have to be literary in order to be protected. Names,
images, symbols, designs..etc. are all protected. Intellectual property rights are mentioned in article 27
of the universal human rights act that gives the inventors and creators to benefit from their work.
Those rights are obtained through registering patents, trademarks, and copyrights. There are several
reasons behind offering protection to intellectual property. First, the legal protection encourages
inventors towards creating and discovering, and that will lead to further innovation. Economic growth

TRIPS aims to protect IP in a broader level (globally), support international trade, and pursue public
interest. TRIPS deals with different IP rights e.g. patents, copyrights, and trademarks. This paper will
discuss all three types of IP.
The protection granted for owners of intellectual property rights under TRIPS promotes the business
and economic development and that will result in increasing the level of innovation in several
countries. Inventors will also be encouraged to contribute to activities involving research and
development; knowing that their work is legally protected. Countries impose rights of protection to IP
in order to ensure citizens are innovative in their own country. Developed countries offer very high
protection of IP rights and because of that, those countries are considered very innovative.
Article 8 of the TRIPS agreement states that members may adopt measures necessary to protect public
health and nutrition, and to promote the public interest in sectors of vital importance to their socio
economic and technological development, provided that such measures are consistent with the
provisions of this agreement. This provision validates the recognition of problems arising from over
protection of IPRs by TRIPS. It allows members of the agreement to react upon misuse of the IPR by
IPR owners, provided that measures taken are complying with the provisions outlined in TRIPS.
However, the impact

Essay about We Need Stronger Child Support Laws
The amount of child support cases in arrears would decline if a few things were changed, hopefully

that could be carried out to prevent future mistakes. There are things being done, but is it enough? As
it stands the noncustodial parent can face loss of visitation, probation, and even jail time for none

based on the information you have given to them. However, they will not represent you in court if that
is the next step to be taken. You may also apply for legal aid and if your circumstances are right and a
court appointed lawyer may be provided. However, this does not mean that you will get a great lawyer
or one that is best for your case. The noncustodial parent may get a more experienced lawyer. There
are other steps that can be taken at this point which include; hiring a privet investigator, hiring an
agency dedicated to acquiring child support, or hiring an attorney to file contempt charges against the
noncustodial parent. None of these options are inexpensive and if the custodial parent is already not

best that can be hoped for is that they unfortunately get arrested for something else in the mean time or
hope that they decide to start making payments.

Catholic Religious Beliefs
The Catholic Church s current pope, Pope Francis once said, A good Catholic meddles in politics,
offering the best of himself, so that those who govern can govern. But what is the best that we can
offer to those who govern? Prayer! Catholics are approximately half of the number of Christians,
reaching more than one billion members. This number makes it one of the largest religions in the
world. In 2003, the Catholic population in the United States was 63.4 million (Roman Catholic
Church, 2017). The Catholic Church s basic beliefs influence their demographics, party affiliation,
stances on different political issues, and involvement in American politics.
I attended a service at The Cathedral of Saint Joseph in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. At this service,
politics were not directly mentioned, but Father Darin Schmidt said a few interesting words. In a
message to the congregation he said, love unconditionally, without limits. Additionally, he also said,
peace, liberty, and justice for all. I think these quotes are helpful in understanding the Catholic Church
s ideologies. During prayer, they mentioned a few current issues including support for the military, the
Las Vegas shooting, refugees, and victims of natural disasters. Besides these few observations, the
cathedral did express any straightforward political statements.
One of the best ways to understand a religion s political views is to understand their basic beliefs and
what they feel to be good and moral. The

Currently the Jacob K. Javits Gifted and Talented Students Act of 1988 is the only national law which
directly addresses gifted children, and is the sole channel for federal funding of gifted education
(Russo and Ford; Inman and Kirchner 10). The Act reinstated, expanded, and updated programs which
had been cut, but it has several limitations (Russo and Ford). It does not address the needs of students
or mandate creation of gifted programs (Inman and Kirchner 10; Russo and Ford). Instead, it allocates
money, ranging from $0 to $11.2 million, for research grants (Inman and Kirchner 10). It also does not
set substantive or procedural due process safeguards as IDEA does (Russo and Ford). Although the
Act has great intentions, it can be ignored by states or districts which do not place priority on gifted
students (Russo and Ford).
Without a federal law actually mandating gifted education, states are responsible for legislation for
identification and services (Inman and Kirchner 11). According to Inman, Kentucky is one of the
strongest states for gifted education legislation; it simply does not have the funding it needs.
Information for Kentucky s policies come from the National Association for Gifted Children s 2014
2015 State of the States report. The report examines and explains various aspects of gifted education

Albinism Research Paper
Imagine having little or no pigment in your eyes, skin, and hair. You re constantly putting on
sunscreen and covering up your skin because you are worried you will develop skin cancer down the
road. No matter what doctors can do, you will never have 20/20 vision. This is what it is like if you
have Albinism. Albinism is a genetic disorder children can inherit from their parents. First of all,
people with Albinism have little or no pigment in their hair, eyes, and skin. With no pigment comes
lack of color eyes, skin, and hair so they have light skin and hair. Albinism is a recessive trait so both
parents have to give the child the Albinism gene. Secondly, Albinism is caused when a child inherits
one defective gene, which is responsible for producing Melanin, from each parent. Melanin is
responsible for absorbing ultraviolet rays so the skin isn t damaged. Thirdly, Albinism has many
negative symptoms. People with Albinism don t tan when exposed to sun and easily get sunburns.
They have a greater risk for skin cancer than people without Albinism. The retina doesn t develop
correctly when the Melanin pigment isn t present. People with ... Show more content on

Understanding marketing system
The world is rapidly developing in most aspects of human life. In the aspect of economy, companies
or firms nowadays pursue global plans so as to introduce and develop their products as well as their
services in other countries, instead of only focusing on business in their nation. However, the
companies success depends not only on their own activities but also other factors from outside.
Therefore, people have widely adopted marketing systems as a tool to obtain their goals. Some
interesting articles and books address this issue. Layton, a professor of marketing at the University of
New South Wale in Australia, in his articles Marketing Systems: A Core Macromarketing Concept in
2007, examines the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, marketing system is a network of customers and organization that produce product in the
way of economic exchange. For instance, Wilkie and Moore (1999), in panel A: Tiffany breakfast
items have complex network from the start to coffee, and breakfast pastry. In this panel shows the
complication of coffee produce which start from farmer grow coffee leave, transport to the
manufacturing to produce coffee and then enter to the market and become Tiffany coffee. In this
example, economic exchange was happen in each stage of activities such as growing coffee bean,
transport; enter market and taxes GST, seller and buyers.
In the article in 2009, Layton (2009) focuses more on the interaction between the marketing systems
with the economic growth and quality of life. The writer argues that the changes of marketing systems
can effectively or ineffectively affect the development of economy or the well being of society. In
addition, the author maintains that the marketing systems founds in multilayered, multiagent and
developed economies. Moreover, the division of labor and specialization, institutions and social
matrix are factors which strongly impact economic outcomes. In the paper of Dixon and Wilkinson
(1982), the authors argue that marketing is a kind of exchange mechanism that results from buyers and
sellers actions to satisfy their requirements. Furthermore, each person plays one or more specific roles
of different social systems in which

Personification In The Veldt
Technology can be both educational and favorable but, unrestricted, it leads to dangerous
consequences. The consequences are even more apparent whenever children are raised with
technology and it envelops their life. Eventually, technology raises the children and, in a way, it
replaces the children s own parents. Ray Bradbury s use of personification and imagery in The Veldt
help convey the idea that the influence of technology is powerful and controls actions, thoughts, and
essentially rewires the brain. In the story, the nursery is brought to life and made to imitate a living
entity which emphasizes how dominantly the nursery influences the children. David McClean states

Similarities Between Jack And Delaney
Throughout this section, the author is showing how dissimilar peoples perspectives may be on such
issues that may or may not involve their immediate life. The author is showing how certain situations
may change your entire outlook on issues. I found it very interesting how similar the two situations
turned out to be. In the first instance of an argument between Jack and Delaney. They both made very
valid points to each other. Delany tried to get Jack to realize how racist and discriminating he was
being towards the issue of illegal immigrants. On page 104 just before the quote from Delaney, Jack
states, Not in the least it s a question of national sovereignty. Did you know that the U.S. accepted

Side Effects Of American Imperialism
Imperialism is described in the American history as a the quest for colonial empires . This was
something new for the newly developed country, the request for more natural resources was at its
peak, with countries like Britain, Germany who have practised imperialism and has succeeded in
expanding its power and influence the United State was more than eager to get into this river that
seems to cough out silver and gold. At first, most American viewed this as a positive expansion
because it will help spread American way of life such as democracy. However this idea was not fully
explored by the Americans, they headed into a battlefield with weapons and crafty strategy but
without knowledge of what the war is about and a possible side effect on not just the U.S. Do
Americans in today s worldview imperialism as a positive idea or negative?. Imperialism is viewed by
many an immoral act even if its initial reason was thoughtful, suppression of the American way of life
and the after effect is a stain on the nation that way never be wiped out.
American must begin to look outward. the growing production of the country demands it.... U.S Navy
Officer Alfred T. Mahan perfectly describes the main reason why the American decided to tryout
imperialism. with the booming economy of the second industrial age, U.S was running out of almost
everything except the increment of a worker from the immigrating groups. Rev Strong called it
survival to the fittest now this claim is beyond unnecessary and thoughtless survival to the fittest is
something occurs only in the lower animal kingdom, and survival to the fittest mostly is over food not
recourse like oil. Americans in today s world that understand the definition of democracy will view
this act of expansion an immoral under the declaration of independence you cannot govern a foreign
territory, a foreign people, other people than your own...you can not govern them U.S Senator George
F. Hoar. Now, let s ask us why the revolutionary war was fought, the British former colony now
known as the United States of America was against the imperialism, they did not want to be ruled by
people who can not attend to the needs, they didn t wish to follow the constitution of parliament

by their body parts. It may be rare but has happened to many women in the world, and can happen to
any woman around the world. Today, I am going to be informing you about conjoined twins and

First, I will be explaining what conjoined twins are. Second, I will be explaining the complications
and theories about conjoined twins. Finally, I will discuss treatment options and the chances of
survival for the twins.
First, I will explain what conjoined twins are. Conjoined twins occur when the bodies of twins
connect. Conjoined twins can be connected at many different body parts. They can be joined at the
head, chest, abdomen, pelvis, and more. Twins joined at the chest or abdomen is the most common,
making up 75 percent of all cases. Conjoined twins are mainly classified three ways while 75 percent

Conjoined twins must be delivered by cesarean section. This means that the surgeons must cut through
the wall of the mother s abdomen to deliver the babies. (Mayo Clinic Staff) Many conjoined twins
pass away shortly after birth, while some of the twins that survive cannot qualify for separation
surgery. Separation surgeries rely heavily on the surgical team. There are two main theories for why
conjoined twins happen. One theory suggests that the egg divides late or does not divide at all, and the
other is that the egg divides completely but joins back together. ( Conjoined

A hero is someone who is able to help others without any interest that would benefit him/her behind his actions Derek is a perfect example of a modern day hero. He is selfless and works as a doctor with the main goal of helping others. Right before a surgery he says to everyone in the OR: Today is a beautiful day to save lives. Derek is worthy of the title of a modern day hero because of all his good and selfless actions towards the others. What is a modern day hero exactly? As I said before, he is a person you can bump into easily in your life. He takes care of his family and takes care of other people too in his job as a doctor. Chief of neurosurgery at Seattle Grace Hospital/ Grey + Sloan Memorial Hospital, Derek has to be brave and smart to look after every patient he has. Braveness and intelligence are characteristics he has that match the ones classical and epic heroes have. Even though his challenges are not fighting monsters, he has some pretty hard challenges like saving a woman from a big aneurism in her brain, and the only powers he has are his skills with a scalpel in hand. Derek does not fit perfectly the Hero s Journey idea, but he does match it in some aspects. For example, during his last episode, Derek faces one of his major trials when he saves over three people on the side of an empty highway after these three people suffered a car accident. However, right after that, crisis comes and he is hit by the ambulance he called to take the people he saved, from the highway to a hospital. • 7. The Ideological Development Of Social Work Practice The Ideological Development of Social Work Practice In this essay I will be acknowledging the historical development of class, searching back over centuries and I will also be discussing how this ideological construct has influenced and impacted contemporary social work practice in Britain. Ideology is a dominant set of beliefs and values within our society, where certain ideas are reinforced and guide society in different ways. An example would be the specific characteristics of an individual or a social group. Ideology is often defined as a body of ideas that reflects the beliefs and interests of a nation or political system (Oxford English Dictionary, 2014). It is a way of looking at everything, for instance it is used to look at issues, social change and justice. The definition of ideology is a fluid one because it can change, but there is just something underpinning it such as the belief that the poor are lazy people that have not worked hard enough in their lives. This means that there is no set or agreed definition of ideology. This is because the changing of ideologies have emerged many times in society, such as following the industrial revolution that occurred in the 19th century, which had class politics and the change in society resulting in capitalism, post industrial society, social movements and contemporary ideologies for social change and social work are then discussed in the context of globalisation. Ideologies really matter due to the reason that in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are numerous ways children learn, but how does the surrounding environment, affects a child s learning ability and influence the learning strategies that employ? Cognitive Leaning Theory A founding father of Cognitive Learning Theory, GagnE (1985) contended that it is more realistic to assume that there are different kinds of learning, arranged in a hierarchy, with one sortbeing the prerequisite for the next. Cheryl Strayed was flooded with an overwhelming amount of grief when she lost her mother to cancer. In her mind she was too young to die, which left Cheryl angry at her mother for dying. She lived under the guidance of her mother all of her life, and suddenly it was gone. Many people find themselves crying in bed for days or months, leaning on their family and friends, or exercises more in order to find some outlet for their grief. However, Cheryl found the best coping mechanism to be repeatedly committing adultery on her faithful husband Pete and becoming addicted to heroin. Throughout her book, Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail, Strayed expresses remorse, but she does not write as though she is ashamed of her infidelity or drug addiction. The lack of shame towards her errors is a weakness and reveals a serious flaw in Cheryl s character. In order to accurately understand why the lack of shame is a character flaw and not a strength we need to briefly look at the difference between shame and remorse. Shame causes an individual to feel not only sorrow for their action, but also humilation. The embarrassment helps prevent a person from repeating their mistakes. Texting while driving a vehicle has now replaced drinking while driving as the leading cause of accidents and deaths of teenage drivers. Texting in traffic isn t simply a problem among teens and 47% of adults admit that they text while driving. Texting drivers are 23 times more likely to be involved in a crash than non texting drivers (Driving while Texting Six Times More Dangerous than Driving while Drunk, 2014). A mobile phone while driving is not only physically distracting, but visually distracting as well. A driver is physically distracted as their hand is moved from the steering wheel to pick up the phone, answer or end the call, or type a message. A mobile phone visually distracts the driver as their eyes are taken off the road to look at the phone, when typing a message or reading (Service, 2013). As a vehicle s speed increases, so does the distance travelled during the driver s reaction time and the distance needed to stop. Also, the higher the speed, the greater the amount of kinetic energy that must be absorbed by the impact in a crash. Unfortunately, Latin America s cultural progression did not spread and blossom as fast as other countries because they were colonized by the retrograded country of Spain. Due to the general conservatism in Iberian culture, Spain being the cause of that, Latin America did not follow the steps towards modernity, unlike French colonized countries. After the colonization period, Latin America spent its time conserving Spanish culture. The Iberian Peninsula culture did not have the same opening into the modernity that France had. It wasn t until the 1880 s through the 1910 s that modernismo , an anti nationalist literary movement, arose within Latin America itself, making it a homegrown movement. • 27. Victor Frankenstein Moral Analysis Victor Frankenstein seemingly goes through several moral pitfalls throughout Mary Shelley s novel. Between playing God and inviting life to be placed upon a concoction of otherwise left over body parts, or, completely abandoning the Creature during its first second of life. Is either one morally correct? No. But in my opinion, one is far worse than the other. Frankenstein is equally as defiant of that of a teenager. As soon as he is told not to do something, there is no turning back, and he must then follow through with his plan. For example, when he is told by both his father and more forwardly so by his professor, M. Krempe, that Every minute, every instant that you have wasted on those books is utterly and entirely lost after he mentioned his studies of natural philosopher s Cornelius Agrippa, Albertus Magnus, and Paracelsus, Frankenstein immediately finds another professor who enables his interests and urges him to continue, which he does. However, that all soon spirals out of control and he finds himself in his laboratory day in and day out, obsessively carrying out his experiment, until finally, he sparks life into his new creature. Playing God, when one is in fact a mere human, can never have a good outcome. We as humans have a nasty habit of wanting instant gratification, and in this case, to also prove the naysayers wrong. As human, there is no way for Frankenstein to ever understand every possible outcome that may occur after this creature is brought into the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When comparing how many people with a higher income play the lottery to people with a lower income, the difference is extreme. The fact that he grew up with a significant figure in his life who favored the west, shaped his views in a major way. Later in his reign, he focused on western civilizations and how they thrived.
