The Flappers In The 1920 s
The decade of the 20 in the United States was a time of great change after exit of the First World
War. When the war ended after a fight of 72 years, women had won the most precious right to vote.
The Flappers were young urban women, unmarried of middle class that had a job in the changing
U.S. economy, especially as secretaries, telephone operators or vendors at the department stores.
The flapperwent by the nights to jazz clubs where used to dance in a provocative way, smoked
cigarettes with long nozzles, aspired cocaine and the flapper had meeting with rich men. The
flapper driving motorcycles and cars (fast). Drank alcohol openly, an act of defiance in a period of
prohibition. An example of this is Clara Bow or Coco Chanel, one of the... Show more content on

Like the evolution of flappers, music evolved the remarkable change in fashion occurred in
1921 and the popularity of jazz soared. Flappers had upper and lower body freedom was
essential to dance the Charleston, The classic dress that was made flappers used to enjoy having
a wonderful time in the city. The suit these young women used was loose and was dropped waist
dress. By the standards of 1920, these dresses were bold fashions that women at that moment
showed little skin and adjusted to shape the body. Flappers dress had sleeves and skirts were
shorter and that was just when to use one to customize to the hilt with lace and many colors, so
the dresses were cut to reflect the ability to move freely when dancing while they moved their
attributes. Flappers hung out in speakeasies and nightclubs where they danced the Tango, the
Black Bottom and the biggest dance craze of all the Charleston with bare arms and legs flying, this
was another scandal more about Flappers. That look that we now associate with the 1920s could not
have existed without the arrival of the Jazz, who became one of the most popular in America. The
Jazz became the musical language of flappers and jazz was also bold, urban, sinful and

The United Nations ( Un ) And The International Monetary Fund
The United Nations (UN) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) are two global
organisations which have played major roles in developing projects and policies and managing
global finance and inter country relations around the world. Currently, there is a need for these
organisations to reform in order to address the issues of the 21st century. The The UN and IMF
were both established after the Second World War by the U.S and British governments. As the
US Secretary of State, Cordell Hull, stated, from the moment when Hitler s invasion of Poland
revealed the bankruptcy of all existing methods to preserve peace, it became evident... that we
must begin almost immediately to plan the creation of a new system . Most of the planning of
the design and structure of the UN was done by the Americans and the British. It is an
international organization designed to promote international law, security, human rights,
economic and social progress. 1Their main objective is to make the enforcement of such easier
for people all around the world. It comprises of 193 member countries and its headquarters is in
New York. This organization was expected to be a political body controlled by the Great Powers
(USA, UK and the USSR), who had taken upon themselves the responsibility of safeguarding
peace and security on behalf of all the nations of the world. Art.1 of the UN Charter sets forth the
basic purposes of the UN. They are to ensure the maintenance of peace and security at an

Pt2520 Unit 6 Steps
Q1. List six major steps that you would take in setting up a database for a particular enterprise.
Following are the six steps that I would take in setting up a database:
1.Requirement analysis
Understanding the business model of enterprise and identifying the entities of that model is the first
step in setting up database. Requirements analysis includes tasks of determining the needs or
conditions to meet. Requirement specification document will be generated at the end of this step.
2.Defining a model
Database model defines the logical structure of the database by determining manner in which the
data will be stored. Relational model is one of the most popular database models, which defines
tables and relationships between the tables.
3.Defining integrity Constraints
Integrity constraints ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Create views
This step includes the task of describing a subset of data for each type of user based on his/her
privileges and requirements. This is done to ensure that no additional information is given to the
user. Views provide a level of abstraction to the database.
6.Initialize the database
After above 5 steps are done, create/initialize the database by adding tuples in appropriate fields.
Q2. Explain the difference between physical and logical data independence.
Data independence is the ability to make changes in the definition and organization of data without
requiring any changes in application programs. Each higher level of the data architecture is
immune to changes of the next lower level of the architecture. Physical and logical data
independence differ in type of changes that can be made without affecting working of higher levels.
Logical data independence is the ability to change logical schema without changing external
schema or user view. In simple words, format used for data storage and format used for data
presentation are independent. Such modifications include adding an attribute in existing table or
adding a relationship between existing

What s That Smell In The Kitchen Analysis
Anyone can make a large difference by the smallest act. Many authors find ways to use their
writing to help make a large difference in the world. Marge Piercy does this in her poem What s
That Smell in the Kitchen? This poem was used to help boost the feminist movement for equality.
Her poem engulfs the idea that one small act can help to make a large difference in the feminist
movement, and she does this using several poetic techniques. Piercy s poem was written in 1982,
when many women were still homemakers, or they not only worked but did all the household
chores. This was not equality, women should not be forced to cook and clean because their
husband does not want to. She should not have to fake a smile when feeding her familybecause that
is what society thinks is correct. Piercy claims: All over America women are burning/ food they re
supposed to bring with calico/ smile[s] on platters glittering like wax (ll. 6 8). Piercy s diction is
very angry and she notes this with her use of the word calico to help express... Show more content

Imagine being so angry that: if [you] want to grill anything, it s/ [your] husband spitted over a
slow fire (ll. 13 14). The image alone is enough to prove the anger the speaker has towards
society and her husband; just the mere idea of picturing someone you chose to live your life
with spinning over a fire, burning to a crisp. This may be a bit extreme, but instead of cooking
her husband, the speaker could instead burn dinner. The one small act that women could make
to defy society s expectation of themselves in Piercy s eye seems to be: Burning dinner (l. 22).
Hardly anyone likes to eat burnt food, but if that food is being burnt because the speaker is
unhappy with her life, she is using it as a silent weapon to prove that she can make her husband s
life just as miserable as her

Cookie Dough Dip
Cookie dough dip is a fast, easy and fun way to make a simple dessert for last minute get
togethers with family. It doesn t have to be chilled nor do you have to bake it. You can serve it
with graham crackers or even pretzels. It must be served at room temperature. In three simple
steps, I will show you how to make a delicious dessert.
To make this treat you will need, a small bowl and hand mixer or standing mixer, one cup
of unsalted butter at room temperature, sixteen ounces of cream cheese at room temperature, and
two thirds of a cup of light brown sugar. You will also need two pinches of salt, two teaspoons
of vanilla extract, one cup of powdered sugar, one and a half cups of your choice of chocolate

First, using the small bowl and hand mixer, you will need to mix together the butter and
cream cheese for about two minutes or until fluffy. Then you add in the brown sugar, powdered
sugar, salt and vanilla extract. Mix thoroughly. Now using the spoon or spatula you will fold in
the chocolate chips. Your dish should now be ready to be served. If you are preparing in
advance, you will need to refrigerate until time to serve. It must return to room temperature
before serving.
Cookie dough dip is a fun way to spend time with family, or even a quick dish to throw
together when running late for a party. It s easy to make and only take a few ingredients. It has

Coclear Impairment
In my experience I have realized that there is always a gap. As you make bigger efforts in one
aspect, another one falls back. Everywhere I have worked, I found two kinds of teachers: The
ones who always do the same and the ones who try to do a good job. In both cases, they use to say
how frustrated they are because the results are not what they expected. The issue is that they are not
aware of how educationhas changed and that we can not have the same expectations of all our
students. Age, capacities, attitude, family, social context, appereance, are factors that influence
directly the outcomes of a student in the classroom. However, these factors are managed as external
issues that are someone else s responsibility.
Currently, I work in a public school with an inclusion program for deaf or hearing impairment
students. When I started to teach in tenth grade, I received two students in opposite corners. Both
had a coclear implant, but one of them experienced his educational process of primary to ninth
grade with deaf students and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

to include models of instruction, materials and activities that take into consideration diverse
students needs. The implementation of significant changes will help students to feel identified with
their educational process. If learners are aware of their process they would determine their
strengths and weaknesses to direct their process and prepare themselves for their personal and
professional life. The challenge is basically transform students and teachers minds towards the
concepts of education, inclusion and differenciated instruction. As long as the country accept that
everybody is different , educational system will recognize the impact this fact has in our life

president in March 1933 at the depth of the Great Depression. He was reelected for three more

Coffee Is The Best Cup Of Coffee
Lately, coffee has been in all of its glory. Being more popular than ever, with pumpkin spice
lattes, morning coffee runs, and debates on which shop offers the best cup of coffee. No one ever
seems to be interested in how coffee was discovered, who discovered it, who invented coffee
machines, and how those were invented. There is no limit to the history behind all of these
questions. Coffeehas been around for centuries, and has changed history to say the least. The
first coffee plants are said to have come from the Horn of Africa on the shores of the Red Sea.
Originally, coffee beans were not used as a beverage, but eaten. East African tribes would grind
the coffee cherries together and mix it with animal fat, and then the paste would be rolled into
little balls. The mixture was said to give warriors much needed energy for battle (A Brief
History). The plants that the beans grow on actually resemble tiny Christmas trees. Originally the
beans are a red color, and actually have a floral scent. The beans turn their known brown black
color when they are roasted, and the darker the color determines how long they have been roasted.
During the 11th century in Ethiopia, goat herder Kaldi noticed his goats became so active, not
wanting to sleep at night, all from the consumption of these berries (The History of Coffee). Kaldi
then took them to his wife, who said they are heaven sent, and must be taken to the monks. At the
monastery, the abot chucked them into the fire claiming

Hexane And Toluene Lab Report

Fractional Distillation of Hexane and Toluene
Aim/Purpose: The purpose of this experiment is to separate and purify the liquid components of a
mixture with a known composition using a technique called fractional distillation. In order to do so,
a liquid mixture is separated into three fractions in the first distillation; then, one of the fractions
produced is redistilled to increase the purity of the liquid. Since two rounds of distillation occur, the
process is termed fractional distillation. Additionally, it is crucial for students to understand the
principles of gas chromatography so the purity and percent composition of each fraction can be
determined.
Theory: The basis for this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Theoretical plates represent the stage in which two phases, such as the liquid and vapor phase of a
substance, establish equilibrium with one another. Thus, since the Hickman still has a short column
and a complete separation of hexane and toluene cannot be achieved in one cycle, there are two
theoretical plates in this experiment: one from the original distillation where three fractions are
recovered, and one from the redistillation of one of the fractions to produce more pure portions.
This experiment involves the separation of a solution containing hexane and toluene.
These compounds meet the criteria mentioned above since their boiling points are approximately
40В°C apart (hexane: 69В°C; toluene: 111В°C). During the first distillation, the liquid mixture is
separated into three fractions. These three fractions must be collected at the specific temperature
ranges shown below:
Desired Composition
Temperature Range
Mostly Hexane
60В° 70В°C
Equal Portions of Hexane and Toluene
75В° 85В°C
Mostly Toluene
85В° 105В°C
The phase diagram of hexane and toluene depicts the relationship between temperature and the
mole fraction of the mixture, revealing that as the mole fraction of hexane and toluene changes, the
boiling point of the mixture changes as well. It is important to note that at any given point, the mole
fraction of hexane and toluene must equal 1.0. The graph below displays the changes mentioned
above in regards to the phase diagram and the

Overview
What is an Independent Broker Dealer?
Broker dealers are specialized financial services companies that trade securities for their own
account or on behalf of their customers. Broker dealers are regulated under the Securities Exchange
Act by the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC), a unit of the US government. Some regulatory
authority is further delegated to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), a self
regulatory organization. Many states also regulate broker dealers under separate state securities
laws known as blue sky laws.
The IBD business model focuses on comprehensive financial planning services and unbiased
investment advice. IBD firms also share a number of other similar business characteristics. They
generally clear their securities business on a fully disclosed basis; primarily engage in the sale of
packaged products, such as mutual funds and variable insurance products; take a comprehensive
approach to their clients financial goals and objectives; and provide investment advisory services
through either affiliated registered investment adviser firms or such firms owned by their financial
advisor.

The, Political, And Economic Recession
Raging wars, political disputes, and economic recession are several of the many things that has
been troubling the people of the world since 1939. Ever since from then, countless lives had to
be spare for the life we own today. Nonetheless, migration of these people was inevitable; they
needed to look for a place to stay, to be safe, and to be able to survive for their children s sake and
for themselves. In recent 20 years back, the approach of handling these aliens has been
acceptable but in some cases unforgivable due to globalization. The technology growth and the
advancement of communication options has made traveling a more pleasant thing rather than an
obstacle. Some were probably believe that they would have a better chance in other places as
their own does not show a promising future for them to survive. Nevertheless, although efforts

The Legacy Of President Jefferson
Youngblood 1 In 1803, an important decision was made that would dramatically change a
country forever. This metamorphic compromise had been made by America s third president,
Thomas Jefferson. He purchased the bountiful and beautiful land of Louisiana from France.
Jefferson wanted to expand America, and adding more land seemed like the perfect solution.
Indeed, if it had not been for President Jefferson, one may be living in an entirely different type
of culture. President Thomas Jefferson needed men to explore the new land. An expedition
would need to take place, and would call for men who could survive hardship in the unknown.
These men of endurance in hardship were Meriwether Lewis, William Clark, and the Corps of
Discovery Company. The purpose of this valiant mission was established when President Thomas
Jefferson told the men, ...to explore the Missouri river, and such principal streams of it, as, by its
course and communication with the waters of the Pacific Ocean, whether the Columbia, Oregon,
Colorado or any other river, may offer the most direct and practicable water communication

This inner company transfer is outside control of NASA Rubber since if EROW cut back on
orders; its profit is hurt through the volume variance. EROW could change its purchase from
NASA depends on the sales prediction, inventory level, production capacity constraint and other
economic factors. Therefore, the uncertainty of the inner company transfer would weaken the
accuracy of the production estimates, and in turn affect the determination of the total fixed costs.
The determination of both two numbers above involves some uncertainties. Therefore, volume
variance is not an accurate measurement of the performance of NASA Rubber. To improve the

Meyrowitz s Theory Of Communication
Medium theory by Joshua Meyrowitz, (1985) refers to the body of literature that focuses on the
various approaches used in examining how different means of expression of human communication
affect the communication process in the society. It mainly focuses on the technological aspect of
the media later than its content. According to Croteau and Hoynes, (2003) the medium theory aims
at determining the look beyond the media content that reveals its social impact to the society.
Various scholars also investigated the medium theory and its impact to the communication industry
in the society. For instance the contribution by McLuhan, (1963, 1966, 1988) and Postman, (1985)
indicate that the medium theory in the United States occupies a marginal position... Show more

The Impact Of Australian Foreign Policy On The...
Australian foreign policy has undoubtedly been subject to vast changes over the past century,
particularly as a response to the increasing role Asia has played in shaping the contemporary
global market. Having identified the importance of multilateralism and regionalism, policy
continue to be increasingly focused on our geographical position as part of the Asia Pacific region,
and the relationships with our immediate neighbours, as a means to better achieve stability. The
word stability in this context does not simply refer one single aspect, but rather encompasses
several different areas which are equally important if we are to continue advancing our country in
both a domestic and international sense. There are several key areas of policy... Show more content

The 1997 Asian financial crisis reinforced Australias growing economic interdependence within
Asia, evident through the assistance given to Indonesia, Thailand, and South Korea to help re
establish their economies. Regional dynamics largely shifted as a result, contributing to the demise
of the Indonesia Suharto administration, and its subsequent transition to democracy. As Indonesia
develops itself as a democratic country, there have been more opportunities for the traditionally
different nations of Indonesia and Australia to intertwine, seeing an increase in regional policy and
greater collaboration on issues of mutual importance.
As Indonesian society continues to transform, so has the national interest in global politics. This
has seen an increase in regional and global affairs, triggering a growth in environmental activism,
and a greater awareness for implementation of crime prevention and migration strategies. Indonesia
has strongly supported the inclusion of Australia in the East Asia Summit (EAS), a conference
which examines economic, political, security and environmental issues within the region.
Conversely, Indonesian society has benefitted from its increasing ties with Australia, allowing it to
better develop a relationship with the United States (a close and powerful ally of Australia).

Effects Of Food On Food And Food Intake
overeat when food does become available, resulting in chronic ups and downs in food intake that
can contribute to weight gain. Cycles of food restriction or deprivation also can lead to an unhealthy
preoccupation with food and metabolic changes that promote fat storage are all the worse when in
combination with overeating (FoodResearch Action Center, 2015, n.p.). The influx of food one day
and than nothing in the cupboards to eat the next creates an unhealthy connection to food. When
food is present, it should be to strengthen and nourish the body while supplying the much needed
energy to function. But when food is consumed in mass portions and high calories manifest into
low nutritional value the body is overdosed with calories that converts the majority of the meal to
fat.
Some of the most shocking statistics surrounding food insecurities are those pertaining to the
overwhelming amount of food that is wasted. Grocery stores, restaurants and bakeries routinely
throw away large amounts of food that could be donated but there is a perception that this food
could not be donated because there is a liability involved, which is false. Good Samaritan Laws
are in place for those that donate food to remove any risk for legal retribution. Ultimately it is the
bottom line for these food corporations that comes into play and that is there are very little tax
breaks so they can recoup the logistical costs or financial incentive for businesses to donate food.

Impact Of Oil Spills On The Economy Of Northern Nigeria
Abstract
Over the years cases have been heard of destruction of the fertile area of Niger delta due to oil
spills. The most affected area is in Nigeria where reports state that there have been more than 400
tons spills. The major reason given behind the spills is due to human mistakes. In a report provided
by the national oil spills detection in Nigeria indicated that there were more than 1200 oil spill sites
that had been left out by the oil companies by the year 2008 along the Niger delta. Even though
the Niger delta from a front view shows the pace to good looking due to the green pastures found

1.1 Introduction
Niger Delta is Located in Southeast of Nigeria and has a history of being one of the most fertile
land in Northern Nigeria. There is subsistence farming and fishing in this region that is mainly
done by the natives of this place, and is inhibited by 3000 communities that have settled there for
a long time doing farming as their major economic activities (Ikelegbe, 2013). The estimated
population at the Niger Delta is 27 million people, of this population, 75% of the population
relies upon agricultural activities for living. However, the water, air, forest and soil resources have
been devastated because of the exploration of gas and oil resources. The key issue and problem
associated with the oil recourse exploration is oil spills and gas flares.

Sleep Personal Statement
I have always been enchanted by the idea of sleep. As a child, I laid in bed attempting to
understand why I was unable to fall asleep. I knew I wasn t the only one, but the snoring of my
family convinced me otherwise. Biology taught me to understand genetics and environmental
cues, but they were unable to explain to me how my sleep pattern was different. Unable to figure
the cause of my sleep problems, I delved into self treatments instead. Curiosity for knowledge in
sleep therapy prompted my interest in understanding sleep consequences and health. Not many
courses introduce the idea of sleep, so it had only been a side interest. I was unaware of the
seriousness of the problem and only wanted to understand sleep disorders because I ve dealt with
insomnia myself. Not until college did it occur to me that sleep was serious enough that studying
sleep was a profession. However, school has only taught me the minimal basics of sleep. I wanted
to understand the mechanism, the consequences, and the treatments for sleep. Unable to get a
better idea of sleep, I aimed to learn more about sleep research. Eventually through graduate
research, I would like to focus on understanding sleep and its application in improving health....

The Pearl Greed Quotes Analysis
Greed is perhaps one of the most destructive forces in this world, it breeds anger, hate, jealousy,
and more. The novella The Pearl is based on how the finding of a pearl causes greed to be
awakened in the hearts of people and cause them to commit evil. During the Novella, Steinbeck
develops the theme that greed left unchecked can cause immoral behavior and that is show in the
doctor, the attackers, and Kino. All of them are forced by greed to commit sins that they otherwise
would not do.
The doctor is someone who let his greed lead to immoral behavior.
An excellent example of greed consuming people are the attackers. They were willing to do
whatever was necessary to get the pearl from Kino and become wealthy. Greedy fingers went

it rose to an aching chord that caught the throat, saying this is safety, this is warmth, this is the

the pearl his relationship steadily deteriorates as shown in this quote Kino, she said huskily, I
am afraid. A man can be killed. Let us throw the pearl back into the sea. Hush, he said fiercely. I
am a man. Hush. . That shows that as time goes by Kino is acting ruder and harshly to Juana all
because of the greed the pearl caused. Another example is This thing is evil, she cried harshly.
This pearl is like a sin! It will destroy us, and her voice rose shrilly. Throw it away, Kino. Let us
break it between stones. Let us bury it and forget the place. Let us throw it back into the sea. It
has brought evil. Kino, my husband, it will destroy us. And in the firelight her lips and her eyes
were alive with her fear. But Kino s face was set, and his mind and his will were set this quote
shows that Juana is becoming increasingly fearful yet Kino is sure this is the way and is willing
to do whatever is necessary to become wealthy. This causes a strain between their relation. Finally
the worst thing Kino commits is the act of attacked Juana. He is described as a snake hissing at
her and hitting her that makes her fall. He even continues to kick her after she has fallen and she
accepts it and knows he may even murder her. This shows that Kino has broken all limits of

Similarities And Differences Between The Crucible And The...
A book and a play, both are extremely widely read and interpreted in countless different ways.
These two are thought to be prime examples of American Literature. Arthur Miller was born on
October 17, 1915, and he published his play, The Crucible, in January of 1953. Nathaniel
Hawthorne was born on July 4, 1804, and his book, The Scarlet Letter, came out to print in
March of 1850. These two types of literature were published roughly 100 years apart, so there are
minute changes in the way they were written. Both are set in early 1700 s Massachusetts, but The
Crucible is in Salem, and The Scarlet Letter is set in Boston. There are many similarities and

Primarily the male protagonists in both stories are the ones who feel the most guilty. The
woman feel guilty too, but this is where is seperates a little, In The Crucible, Abigail would
never want her good name to be damaged from people knowing that she is a adulterer, but in The
Scarlet Letter, Hester feels guilty for the first few years, but then gets used to the feeling, both
the feeling of being an outcast and being guilty. John Proctor feels ashamed that he has done
such a thing with another woman who he is not lawfully wed to, so he turns away from Abigail
and towards his wife. He knows he has done a wrong, and it is over now, but he still does not
want anyone to know about it. Dimmesdale is a priest in Boston, and that is extremely bad
because he committed adultery with a married woman, he does not tell for the next seven years,
but eventually does right before he dies and the end of the book. Massachusetts, in the 18th
century, is the setting for both Miller s The Crucible and Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter, the way
the community deals with matters of the law is very similar to each other. Both communities are
extremely religious, and everyone thinks that if you mess up once, you will go to hell. You could
say they are extremists with the Bible. In both stories, the man and woman both commit what is
usually one of the most severe sins, adultery. The community rejects them, and things do not go

Oresteia And Clytemnestra
The Oresteia and the character of Clytemnestra
The Oresteia is a trilogy of Greek tragedies written by Aeschylus. It was originally performed at
the Dionysia Festival in Athens where it won the first prize in 458 B.C. The play wants to reveal
the idea of justice. Men and women are in conflict. This situation leads Clytemnestra to become not
a wife and mother (which were the only appropriate roles for respectable women in ancient Greece),
but a tyrant. Clytemnestra in ancient Greek, was the wife of Agamemnon. She is one of the main
characters in the play and I can say that it is the most interesting one. By interesting I don t mean
that is a likable character because she is considered a murderer but it is important to analyze the

The bad actions of Clytemnestra are immediately seen in a negative way but she, at first, has
avenged her daughter s murder. What the chorus thinks of her is that she is an imposing figure,
she is not noble and her information is unreliable. She is kind of underestimated and misjudged.
She is presented as the bad woman but it is clear that the aim of Clytemnestra is taking her
revenge. Aeschylus portrait of Clytemnestra can be seen as negative and positive; on one hand she
seeks justice for her daughter, on the other she is completely incurable for the act of murder. She
does not hide from her actions, instead she freely admits her murder and embraces the power and
authority. It is through the inversion of traditional gender roles, adopting masculine speech,
behaviors and activities, that she achieves her revenge for the sacrifice of Iphigenia. On one hand
Clytemnestra s revenge may have been seen as an upsetting act but on the other hand it let people
(the audience) reflect on the traditional gender role of women in society. The power of
Clytemnestra can be also seen through the chorus speech. It highlights her authority even if the

Pathos In Advertising
In a day, the average American sees thousands of ads, the world is covered in them. Be it on TV,
in the daily newspaper or on the shopping cart one picks up at the grocery store, exposure to
these ads is inescapable. Most are these ads are harmless, wanting only to catch the attention of
potential customers and invest them in their product. The companies make use use of pathos ( for
example the Budweiser commercials with the puppy and horse), logos (the Geico 15 minutes
could save you 15% or more... ), or ethos (Jamie Fox using his iPhone 6s in Apple s latest ads) to

Within the advertisement they broadcast systemically reenforced and exaggerated a large
number of stereotypes about both men and women. Some may wonder, however, how this
really effects everyday life. If someone sees so many ads in a day what is one more, one that is
just a bit more sexist than the typical beer ad. While this it is true that the average person is
overstimulated by the number of ads as it is there is still something to be said for the content of
the ads. Even if a person doesn t mentally acknowledge them the brain still notes them and stores
them in the brain. If time after time one sees women in the submissive role or treated as objects,
chances are they will start subconsciously believing it. On the other hand if men are constantly
portrayed as stupid and hormone driven then that bias will start to seep into reality. There are
also significant moral issues with this ad, if time after time women are portrayed simply as a
visual feast it changes how they will be treated for the rest of their lives. Next time they walk
down the street theres a chance a man may catcall her, acknowledging the fact that she was in
some way appealing to him. He doesn t do this because she is smart, funny or kind he does this
simply because he was pleased by her appearance and may even think he is complementing her.

Conclusion
The initial analysis of Likert scale measurement should not involve variables, but should rely on
the ordinal data. These scales usually represent a constant fundamental measure, and the
individual variables should be used as a pilot measurement s of testing (Sullivan and Artino,
2013). Combining Likert scales into tables adds values and variability to the data. If the
assumptions of regularity are met, analysis with variable procedures can be followed. Finally,

The Elephant In Kazuo Ishiguro s Never Let Me Go
The elephant is seen as as the most compassionate creatures on earth. They care for those around
them, even if they are not of the same species. Their fellow creatures, humans, aren t as caring.
They pick fights, slaughter each other in wars, and even abandon one another for their own
survival. In this excerpt from Kazuo Ishiguros Never Let Me Go, the author portrays the narrator as
concerned while Ruth and the other girls are contrasted as rude and apathetic to reveal how
compassion is lacking in the younger generations.
The author portrays the narrator as uneasy over Tommy s treatment from the other kids to show
how compassion is rare in young people. The narrator and the other girls were crowded around a
window waiting for the boys to pull a trick on Tommy. The narrator was unsettled and searched
for signs of disapproval about what the boys were going to do to Tommy (Ishiguro), but she was

Fingerprint Analysis In Criminal Investigation
Every day, individuals touch countless objects and each time an object is touched an individual s
fingerprints are left behind. For more than one hundred years, fingerprint analysis has been used by

The production of Antigone by Company B reviewed by Peta Tait is correct in multiple instances
even though the production has an incorrect central conflict. Company B s production is correct
when Tait explains how it portrays why Creon did not bury Polyneices body and just left it out to

animals. Most people would agree that it is not good to disregard a person enough to let his dead
body rot with the animals and to call women snakes and leeches (Tait 73). The controversial issue
that should be the central conflict is whether Antigone should have buried her brother even though
she rebels against authority to doing so. This conflict can result in more disagreement than Creon s
treatment towards Polyneices and the women for a few reasons. At the time Antigone was written,
there was a negative outlook on women. They were not seen as people who should have the same
rights as men, much less to act against any authority. This outlook is seen when Ismene
demonstrations how women do not disobey authority by disagreeing with Antigone s decision to
bury Polyneices (Sophocles 708). Even though most readers would agree that it was not good that
women were treated less than humans when Sophocles wrote Antigone, they can still be
disagreement when Antigone went against the law. While Tait notes that Haemon says to Creon
that anyone would have done what Antigone did if they had a relative fed to the crows, I disagree.
(Tait 73). Some people may reject what Antigone did

College Education Vs Non Traditional Education
Today there is a growing gap between educated and uneducated Americans. The upper middle class
seem to expect nothing less than a college degree, while lower income families risk missing a
college education, so they can go straight into the workforce. To get nontraditional students on the
path of a collegeeducation, it would greatly benefit them and society. To get these students to apply
for college would help to break the cycle of upper middle class diversity, allow lower income
students to start thinking about college, and help to boost the economy.
As pointed out by David Leonhardt, diversity in elite colleges is considered an upper middle class
student from California and an upper middle class student from New York sitting in the

All The Presidents Men Ap Government Paper
All the Presidents Men
All the presidents men begins on June 17 1972 when five burglars broke into the Democratic
National headquarters, which was located at the Watergate Hotel. Most of the Newspapers
disregarded the story as just another break in but Two reporters for the Washington post stuck with
the story till the End.
The two reporters named Carl Bernstien and Bob Woodwardrealized that this break in was some
how involved in the up coming election but they did not know how. Their first move was to
follow where the money for the break in came from. The Money led them to find a safe full of
money that was to go to the Re election of President Nixon. This Money came From the
Committee to re elect the president or CRP for sort. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He told them some of the Tactics CRP would use was the Handing out of Campaign literature
written by CRP that made the Democrats look like racists. CRP would also give Democrat
supporters wrong information about Rally s for the Democratic nominee and order pizzas and
liquor to democratic campaign rallies. Woodward and Bernstien would later find there had been
political sabotage tracing back to JFK.
Woodward and Bernstein were then contacted by a reliable source named Deep Throat. Deep Throat
gave them information on who had control of the money in Sloan s safe. He pointed them to two
high ranking official that were thought to be the masterminds of the break in and of other CRP
actions of political sabotage. Their names were Bob Hadleman and John Ehrlichman. Deep throat
also said the attorney general John Mitchell was also some how involved. As Woodward and
Bernstien were having there articles published about Watergate the White House was denying any
involvement in the Watergate break in and denying the CRP safe which held money that went to
political sabotage. The White House also claimed that the post was only publishing story s that
helped Democrats and never published stories about political sabotage on the republican campaign.
They also claimed the post was sabotaging the republican campaign by writing these stories.

The Death Of The Great War Is England Singing The...
Armistice Day , at the end of the Great War is England singing the holiness of God away, as
Brittan whistles this new song for their conditions for humans spiral out of control by way of
poverty, aloneness, and doubt. During this new dimension, it is not a new song of happiness
that comes out of existence, it is an old song of sadness that is somehow different because of the
earth s new conditions. Unlike any kind of rats in the Trenches that are around them, the vermin
are not out to harm souls, but to destroy most of God s human beings. While they are not able to
kill them, they are able to torment them for years to come. This plague is the same as the smoke
of the torment as it seems to rise forever and ever (Revelation 14:11). The only way to glorify
God is to accept His principles of mercy. Mercy means that God does the performs for His
people. If God does the work, then He gets the glory. If mankind looks away then the smoke will
never go away. Just as, right after the war, this smoke is a forewarning that Satan s purpose in the
world is coming to fulfillment as he will embrace the pending judgments against the torment he is
creating.
To Neville s surprise as he watches Britain sink by war debts, trade exports falling, unemployment
rising to double figures, and the Spanish Flu, in retaliation, he vows to make Germany pay . After
the First World War, and the map of Europe is redrawn as several new countries start new,
Germany sees a rebirth in their country

The Arguments For The Existence Of God
Amie Kamara
Professor Davidson
Theology
16 November 2015
Rough Draft for The arguments for the Existence of God. The question Does God Exist? is a
well known asked question in the world. Most people believe they know the answer to it. The
religious people would say, well of course he does, while the non religious people or atheist would
say no He does not exist. Because evil exist and chaos exists, God cannot be all powerful. In the
modern world, there are many different opinions as to whether a God exists or not. This has been
an issue of great dispute because many people reverence different gods or no god at all. For years,
many philosophers have come up with theories, proofs, and hypotheses to prove the existence of
God, and a canon of arguments has been developed. The Arguments for the Existence of God sets
out to explain the everyday philosophical arguments for theism, and so to explore the case for the
existence of God. The arguments themselves are arranged under the following headings: The
Ontological Argument, The Cosmological Argument, The Teleological Argument, and The Moral
Argument will determine if there really is a God.
The ontological argument
An argument that attempts to prove the existence of God through abstract reasoning alone is
known as the Ontological argument. The argument begins with a clear explanation of the concept
of God. When people talk or think about God they usually think or say that he s a perfect being
meaning He is flawless, ideal

The Most Dangerous Job Essay
In The Most Dangerous Job excerpted from the book Fast Food Nation, by Eric Schlosser, it
discusses the issues of the meat packing industry in the early 1900 s in the genre of fiction. It
describes the factory in a grotesque manner. The meat packing industry was known as having less
strict regulations compared to now. The OSHA should have more firm regulations for the meat
packing industryand local restaurants.
The Most Dangerous Job has a contrast of pathos to ethos and logos, to persuade his audience with
a more logical context. The Jungle by Upton Sinclair consistently uses pathos in the argument of
their passage to give an exaggerated tone. Both articles use this method to draw in their viewers
with adjectives relating to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The slaughterhouse is one of the nation s largest. About five thousand head of cattle enter it every
day, single file, and leave in a different form (Sinclair). In this sentence, it was using logos in the
starting of the passage to inform his audience. Someone who has access to the plant, who s upset
by its working conditions, offers to give me a tour (Sinclair). This sentence used logos to persuade
his viewers that people from the factory were upset because of the working conditions, and decided
to show him the poor quality they were operating in. The slaughterhouse is an immense building,
gray and square, about three stories high, with no windows on the front and no architectural clues to
what s happening inside (Sinclair). This sentence contained pathos to describe what the outside of
the factory looked in an ominous setting.
In The Jungle, it s set during the early 1900 s in fiction in 3rd person point of view, while the The
Most Dangerous Job is set during present day in nonfiction in 1st person point of view. Both have
similarities and a contrast between each other. The Jungle consists of mainly pathos and logos,
while The Most Dangerous Job has primarily ethos, logos, and pathos together in a balanced tone.
Both articles exaggerate about the meat packing industry to persuade viewers that the factories have
corrupted their workers. Jesus says the stench in rendering is so powerful

Essay Comparing The Diary Of Anne Frank And The Hiding Place
The Diary of Anne Frank vs. The Hiding Place
Although there are similarities between The Diary of Anne Frank and The Hiding Place , there
are also differences, especially in the importance of the role Christian faith plays in The Hiding
Place . The Diary of Anne Frank and The Hiding Place are both very similar because the time
period took place during World War 2 and it had to do with the Nazis. The setting of the stories
both took place in the Netherlands. In The Diary of Anne Frank they are Jewish, but in The Hiding
Place they are Christians helping Jews. In both of the stories, everybody is stressed about what
will happen next. In The Diary of Anne Frank , everybody in the annex is Jewish, but Peter Van
Daan says he does not want a religion. He still follows all the Jewish laws, like when it was
Hanukkah, he did what he was supposed to do. Mr. Dussel was a very religious man and was
very devoted to his religion. Every night Mr. Dussel would do his Jewish practices before he went
to bed. There are some people in the annex that practice their religion more and some that don t
practice that often anymore. During Hanukkah, everybody in the annex came together to practice
their religion, even if they were unsure of what level they were on with their religion. ... Show more

they were put in the camp was because God wanted them to spread the gospel. Everyday they

The Final Project Will Compass Research
The final project will compass research from the two varying fields of media study: quantitative
and qualitative the quantitative, which has been analyzed for the purposes of the semester s first
research proposal. For much of the qualitative approach, I will utilize multiple feminist film
theories in conjunction with sex research in order to find a theoretical lens for The To Do List as
well as identify the lack of studies/work pertaining to female sexuality in media. This study will
corporate the ideologies of Laura Mulvey, Kathleen Rowe Karlyn, Mary Ann Doane, and a small
range of other research pertaining to feminism and its intersection with sexuality. Although The
To Do List does not entirely conform to the ideologies presented by Laura Mulvey in her piece,
Visual Pleasure and the Narrative Cinema, the theories argued can be utilized as a constructed
lens, which is subverted by the film s narrative. Similarly, as Mulvey states in her work: (i)t is said
that analyzing pleasure, or beauty, destroys it. That is the intention of this article (Mulvey, 839),
much in the same way is my intention for such a case study to work at diminishing the taboo
constraints placed on female sexuality. Mulvey s definition of cinema s scopophiliac qualities are
subverted in the film and rather function to place almost a female gazeupon some of the main male
characters, which is a clear deviation from common Hollywood films. Much as women are

1.9 billion, or a mere five weeks profit for the global banking giant, HSBC was the punishment
handed by the US Department of Justice (DOJ), in late 2012, for the bank s systematic disregard
of shady financial transactions. The DOJ s decision is in response to the bank s failure to follow:
the Bank Secrecy Act, the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, and the Trading with
the Enemy Act. HSBC deliberately avoided reviewing flagged financial documents and clear
warning signs that it was conducting business with well known drug cartels such as the Sinaloa
Cartel and even jihadist groups connected to Al Qaeda. After months of investigation by the DOJ,
on December 11th, US Attorney General Loretta Lynch decided to fine the bank and sign a

narrative of the media reports. Numerous public watchdog groups and social justice advocates
clashed with the conclusion of the investigation, thus the DOJ s Office of Public information

Dunbar And The Caged Bird Essay
History in the past provided us with many historical events, such as the March on Washington,
Montgomery Bus Boycott, and Martin Luther KingВґs ВЁI Have a DreamВЁ speech, which led to
Civil Rights Movement. As a famed Civil Rights activist, Rosa Parks refused to surrender her
seat to a white passenger on a public bus where the conflict came along. As Poets, Maya Angelou
and Paul Lawrence Dunbar both utilized characters of a caged bird to symbolize African
Americans. Being one of those African Americans, Rosa Parks encountered many obstacles in her
efforts to realize a kind of social freedom that every American citizen should have, which

This is not accurate evidence of why she d be compared to a free bird because Rosa Parks had to
fight single handedly for our people and our human rights that no colored people were given. In the
Caged Bird poem, the poet states, But a caged bird stands on the grave of dreams/... his wings are
clipped and his feet are tied/ So he opens his throat to sing. (26 29). Meanwhile some people seem
and argue that Rosa Parks is compared to a free bird, Rosa sparked all of the rights for us and had
to overcome many obstacles during this time period. Also, many free in a way, it s undeniable that
Rosa Parks is considered free in a way, it s undeniable that Rosa had a really rough time period she
lived in, just like the caged bird. The poet of Sympathy states, I know why the caged bird beats his
wings/ Till its blood is red on the cruel bars/ For he must fly back to his perch and cling. (8 10). All

unpleasant on her. Despite the fact that some consider Rosa Parks as a free bird would. She had to

The Importance Of Presidency
Everyone is familiar with the paradox in which qualified graduates fresh out of college apply for
a job but is unfortunately denied because they lack the experience. Yet how can they gain
experience for a position if no one will hire them? In this situation, it may be more prolific to hire
qualified individuals despite their lack of job experience. However, in some cases allowing
inexperienced individuals to hold a position may be more detrimental than beneficial. For example,
one of the most essential job positions in the country that requires innumerable amounts of
experience is that of the President of the United States. Especially in this period of American
political turmoil, the position of Presidency is on the line. With an alarming amount of
disagreeable candidates in the 2016 Presidential elections, it is vital that the individual possesses
experience in politics and in volunteer service. The office of the American presidency is... Show

He/she must aim to serve his term for the betterment of the country and its citizens. Though foreign
affairs, economic improvement, and domestic policies are essential in the President s agenda, a
concentration in the humanities is also just as important. A President experienced in extensive
volunteer service will be conscious of the numerous issues plaguing our country, such as poverty
and global warming, and will undoubtedly prioritize these problems to the same extent as the
national budget or health care reform. Likewise, the occupier of the Oval Office must be able to
inspire others to volunteer for the betterment of the nation and to do so, the President must also be
an active volunteer himself/herself. For example, President Herbert Hoover is acclaimed for his
humanitarian acts and yearning to be of service to others. His generosity to other countries in times
of need has certainly promoted the importance of community

Aztec Civilization
Aztecs, also called Mexica, is a Mesoamerican civilization that flourished around 1350.
Tenochtitlan is the capital of the Aztec empire built on the shores of Lake Texcoco. Aztecs were
believed to be nomads who came from the Toltec tribe. They wandered into the valley of Mexico
around 1325 and started to form villages. They dug canals, drained lakes and converted them into
fertile fields. They also built the beautiful city of Tenochtitlan. The Aztecs were known for human
sacrifice, which was associated to religious rituals. They believed that their gods sacrificed their
own lives to sustain the earth. In return, human blood must be sacrificed to the sun, moon, earth,
and vegetation gods to provide them nourishment to keep the nature and cosmos in balance
(Benton DiYanni, pg. 325 326). The Aztecs arose as the leading force in central Mexicotaking the
region s city states under their power by the 15th century. They developed a sophisticated political,
social, commercial and religious organization. However, the Spaniards, led by the Spanish
conquistador Hernan Cortes defeated and conquered the Aztecs in 1521.
The Aztecs highly regarded songs and poetry. During their festivals, they held poetry contests and
presentations that included musicians, acrobats, and players. Music and dance were also important
parts of their rituals and ceremonies. Nezahualcoyotl was one of their famous poets. His poetry
depicted the culture and values of the Aztecs. One example was his poem called

Essay about The Development of Cognitive Psychology
Describe the ways in which philosophy, linguistics, and artificial intelligence have contributed to
the development of cognitive psychology. Cognitive psychology is the segment of psychology that
explores internal mental processes such as visual processing, memory, problem solving, and
language. Cognitive psychology also focuses on information processing and the method of how
people store, manipulate and use information (Barsalou, 2005). With an emphasis on thought
processes, cognitive psychology also explores and discusses thinking and knowledge acquisition as
conceptual terms. Well known contributors to the fields, such as Jean Piaget, are especially
concerned with the development of cognition and formed stage theories to explain... Show more

Linguistics has impacted cognitive psychology as the quest to understand language acquisition and
the structure of language itself is undertaken. Linguistics is a complex and multifaceted; it includes
language structural patterns and language development (Barsalou, 2005). The process of language
development is complicated and dense, as the study of language is examined; the role of cognition
is inherently examined and analyzed. Sternberg (2006) also explores language as an innate process
and presents the idea that humans are born ready for language as a biological and cognitive
process. The impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on cognitive psychology is an extremely
interesting and relevant idea. New trends in technology and the explosion of new devices that think
and learn allow cognitive psychologists the opportunity to examine some process and simulations
executed by AI under constructed conditions (Sternberg, 2006). Also psychologists can utilize AI to
test and develop theories and methods that would not be practical in real time. Further, AI allows
cognitive psychology the opportunity to expand on cognitive theories as computers are available to
overcome the limitations of human thinking. The use of AI is also practical in supporting
individuals who may have barriers to learning or handicapping conditions that make learning and
knowledge retention difficult. In my classroom

Controversy Of Advertisement
Argumentative Essay
In today s society the only way to become a famous musician is to have good music that fans will
like. One of the ways fans learn about an artist s new songs is through ads. A fan would be
watching TV or listening to music on their smartphone, and an ad might pop up with their favorite
artist s new song. The fan would most likely wonder what is was and download it. Artists should
continue to allow their music to be placed in advertisements because it helps them earn money, and
it can help them get recognized.
First, using ads can help the artist earn more money. Some artists only make U.S. minimum wage
for their music, so advertising and making corporate deals can really help. A band called Oh,
Sleeper is an example. Out ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sometimes fans will feel betrayed when they see their favorite song in a burger commercial and
instead of gaining popularity the artist will actually lose it and get very strong negative feedback.
Take U2 for example one of the world s most popular rock bands who after, landing a deal with
Apple that had their 2014 album Songs of Innocence installed into 500 million iTunes
subscribers libraries for free, faces a storm of negative feedback from fans and critics alike.
People resented the idea that an album they didn t ask for was forced on them, likening the
album to musical spam, and the reputations of both U2 and Apple were damaged. (Source 2
Paragraph 8) Although doing this can hurt the reputation of artists it can help them as well. They
can earn way more money, get famous quickly and live a good life. It is a risk artists are willing to
take because making music is their livelihood not just their hobby.
To conclude, signing off songs, albums, and making commercials can be a risk, there are way
more benefits than cons. Besides if an artist doesn t want his or her music on streaming apps,
they can just tell those companies to stop streaming their music, which may increase sales of
downloads of an artist s music since it is not being streamed. Everyone knows that ads help and
making deals help so why make a big deal? It is an artist s choice and if they want to

  • 2. The Flappers In The 1920 s The decade of the 20 in the United States was a time of great change after exit of the First World War. When the war ended after a fight of 72 years, women had won the most precious right to vote. The Flappers were young urban women, unmarried of middle class that had a job in the changing U.S. economy, especially as secretaries, telephone operators or vendors at the department stores. The flapperwent by the nights to jazz clubs where used to dance in a provocative way, smoked cigarettes with long nozzles, aspired cocaine and the flapper had meeting with rich men. The suit these young women used was loose and was dropped waist dress. By the standards of 1920, these dresses were bold fashions that women at that moment showed little skin and adjusted to shape the body. Flappers dress had sleeves and skirts were shorter and that was just when to use one to customize to the hilt with lace and many colors, so the dresses were cut to reflect the ability to move freely when dancing while they moved their attributes. Flappers hung out in speakeasies and nightclubs where they danced the Tango, the Black Bottom and the biggest dance craze of all the Charleston with bare arms and legs flying, this was another scandal more about Flappers. • 3. The United Nations ( Un ) And The International Monetary Fund The United Nations (UN) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) are two global organisations which have played major roles in developing projects and policies and managing global finance and inter country relations around the world. Currently, there is a need for these organisations to reform in order to address the issues of the 21st century. The The UN and IMF were both established after the Second World War by the U.S and British governments. As the US Secretary of State, Cordell Hull, stated, from the moment when Hitler s invasion of Poland revealed the bankruptcy of all existing methods to preserve peace, it became evident... that we must begin almost immediately to plan the creation of a new system . Most of the planning of the design and structure of the UN was done by the Americans and the British. It is an international organization designed to promote international law, security, human rights, economic and social progress. 1Their main objective is to make the enforcement of such easier for people all around the world. It comprises of 193 member countries and its headquarters is in New York. This organization was expected to be a political body controlled by the Great Powers (USA, UK and the USSR), who had taken upon themselves the responsibility of safeguarding peace and security on behalf of all the nations of the world. • 4. Pt2520 Unit 6 Steps Q1. List six major steps that you would take in setting up a database for a particular enterprise. Following are the six steps that I would take in setting up a database: 1.Requirement analysis Understanding the business model of enterprise and identifying the entities of that model is the first step in setting up database. Requirements analysis includes tasks of determining the needs or conditions to meet. Requirement specification document will be generated at the end of this step. 2.Defining a model Database model defines the logical structure of the database by determining manner in which the data will be stored. Relational model is one of the most popular database models, which defines tables and relationships between the tables. 3.Defining integrity Constraints Integrity constraints ... This is done to ensure that no additional information is given to the user. Views provide a level of abstraction to the database. 6.Initialize the database After above 5 steps are done, create/initialize the database by adding tuples in appropriate fields. Q2. Explain the difference between physical and logical data independence. Data independence is the ability to make changes in the definition and organization of data without requiring any changes in application programs. Each higher level of the data architecture is immune to changes of the next lower level of the architecture. Physical and logical data independence differ in type of changes that can be made without affecting working of higher levels. Logical data independence is the ability to change logical schema without changing external schema or user view. In simple words, format used for data storage and format used for data presentation are independent. Such modifications include adding an attribute in existing table or adding a relationship between existing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. What s That Smell In The Kitchen Analysis Anyone can make a large difference by the smallest act. Many authors find ways to use their writing to help make a large difference in the world. Marge Piercy does this in her poem What s That Smell in the Kitchen? This poem was used to help boost the feminist movement for equality. Her poem engulfs the idea that one small act can help to make a large difference in the feminist movement, and she does this using several poetic techniques. Piercy s poem was written in 1982, when many women were still homemakers, or they not only worked but did all the household chores. This was not equality, women should not be forced to cook and clean because their husband does not want to. She should not have to fake a smile when feeding her familybecause that is what society thinks is correct. Piercy claims: All over America women are burning/ food they re supposed to bring with calico/ smile[s] on platters glittering like wax (ll. 6 8). Imagine being so angry that: if [you] want to grill anything, it s/ [your] husband spitted over a slow fire (ll. 13 14). The image alone is enough to prove the anger the speaker has towards society and her husband; just the mere idea of picturing someone you chose to live your life with spinning over a fire, burning to a crisp. This may be a bit extreme, but instead of cooking her husband, the speaker could instead burn dinner. The one small act that women could make to defy society s expectation of themselves in Piercy s eye seems to be: Burning dinner (l. 22). Hardly anyone likes to eat burnt food, but if that food is being burnt because the speaker is unhappy with her life, she is using it as a silent weapon to prove that she can make her husband s life just as miserable as her ... • 7. Coclear Impairment In my experience I have realized that there is always a gap. As you make bigger efforts in one aspect, another one falls back. Everywhere I have worked, I found two kinds of teachers: The ones who always do the same and the ones who try to do a good job. In both cases, they use to say how frustrated they are because the results are not what they expected. The issue is that they are not aware of how educationhas changed and that we can not have the same expectations of all our students. Age, capacities, attitude, family, social context, appereance, are factors that influence directly the outcomes of a student in the classroom. However, these factors are managed as external issues that are someone else s responsibility. Currently, I work in a public school with an inclusion program for deaf or hearing impairment students. When I started to teach in tenth grade, I received two students in opposite corners. Both had a coclear implant, but one of them experienced his educational process of primary to ninth grade with deaf students and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He was a fascinating idealist whose confidence helped carry on the American people during the strains of economic crisis and world war even though he had an attack of poliomyelitis, which paralyzed his legs in 1921. He was one of America s most touchy leaders. Though Roosevelt labored hard to end the Depression, he had not very much success. It was not until 1939 and 1940 that success returned. Being of Dutch and English ancestry, his ancestor, Klaes Martensen had been a Dutch immigrant, settling in New York in 1645. Almost two hundred years later, on January 30, 1882, Franklin was born. • 15. Coffee Is The Best Cup Of Coffee Lately, coffee has been in all of its glory. Being more popular than ever, with pumpkin spice lattes, morning coffee runs, and debates on which shop offers the best cup of coffee. No one ever seems to be interested in how coffee was discovered, who discovered it, who invented coffee machines, and how those were invented. There is no limit to the history behind all of these questions. Coffeehas been around for centuries, and has changed history to say the least. The first coffee plants are said to have come from the Horn of Africa on the shores of the Red Sea. Originally, coffee beans were not used as a beverage, but eaten. East African tribes would grind the coffee cherries together and mix it with animal fat, and then the paste would be rolled into little balls. The mixture was said to give warriors much needed energy for battle (A Brief History). The plants that the beans grow on actually resemble tiny Christmas trees. Originally the beans are a red color, and actually have a floral scent. The beans turn their known brown black color when they are roasted, and the darker the color determines how long they have been roasted. During the 11th century in Ethiopia, goat herder Kaldi noticed his goats became so active, not wanting to sleep at night, all from the consumption of these berries (The History of Coffee). Hexane And Toluene Lab Report Jessie Nalley 24 October 2017 Sailajah Gukathasan Fractional Distillation of Hexane and Toluene Aim/Purpose: The purpose of this experiment is to separate and purify the liquid components of a mixture with a known composition using a technique called fractional distillation. In order to do so, a liquid mixture is separated into three fractions in the first distillation; then, one of the fractions produced is redistilled to increase the purity of the liquid. Since two rounds of distillation occur, the process is termed fractional distillation. Additionally, it is crucial for students to understand the principles of gas chromatography so the purity and percent composition of each fraction can be determined. Theory: The basis for this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Theoretical plates represent the stage in which two phases, such as the liquid and vapor phase of a substance, establish equilibrium with one another. Thus, since the Hickman still has a short column and a complete separation of hexane and toluene cannot be achieved in one cycle, there are two theoretical plates in this experiment: one from the original distillation where three fractions are recovered, and one from the redistillation of one of the fractions to produce more pure portions. This experiment involves the separation of a solution containing hexane and toluene. These compounds meet the criteria mentioned above since their boiling points are approximately 40В°C apart (hexane: 69В°C; toluene: 111В°C). This metamorphic compromise had been made by America s third president, Thomas Jefferson. He purchased the bountiful and beautiful land of Louisiana from France. Jefferson wanted to expand America, and adding more land seemed like the perfect solution. Indeed, if it had not been for President Jefferson, one may be living in an entirely different type of culture. President Thomas Jefferson needed men to explore the new land. An expedition would need to take place, and would call for men who could survive hardship in the unknown. These men of endurance in hardship were Meriwether Lewis, William Clark, and the Corps of Discovery Company. The purpose of this valiant mission was established when President Thomas Jefferson told the men, ...to explore the Missouri river, and such principal streams of it, as, by its course and communication with the waters of the Pacific Ocean, whether the Columbia, Oregon, Colorado or any other river, may offer the most direct and practicable water communication across this continent for the purposes of commerce... Cycles of food restriction or deprivation also can lead to an unhealthy preoccupation with food and metabolic changes that promote fat storage are all the worse when in combination with overeating (FoodResearch Action Center, 2015, n.p.). The influx of food one day and than nothing in the cupboards to eat the next creates an unhealthy connection to food. When food is present, it should be to strengthen and nourish the body while supplying the much needed energy to function. But when food is consumed in mass portions and high calories manifest into low nutritional value the body is overdosed with calories that converts the majority of the meal to fat. Some of the most shocking statistics surrounding food insecurities are those pertaining to the overwhelming amount of food that is wasted. Grocery stores, restaurants and bakeries routinely throw away large amounts of food that could be donated but there is a perception that this food could not be donated because there is a liability involved, which is false. Good Samaritan Laws are in place for those that donate food to remove any risk for legal retribution. Ultimately it is the bottom line for these food corporations that comes into play and that is there are very little tax breaks so they can recoup the logistical costs or financial incentive for businesses to donate food. A man can be killed. Let us throw the pearl back into the sea. Hush, he said fiercely. I am a man. Hush. . That shows that as time goes by Kino is acting ruder and harshly to Juana all because of the greed the pearl caused. Another example is This thing is evil, she cried harshly. But Kino s face was set, and his mind and his will were set this quote shows that Juana is becoming increasingly fearful yet Kino is sure this is the way and is willing to do whatever is necessary to become wealthy. This causes a strain between their relation. Finally the worst thing Kino commits is the act of attacked Juana. He is described as a snake hissing at her and hitting her that makes her fall. For more than one hundred years, fingerprint analysis has been used by law enforcement to identify suspects in order to solve crimes. • 42. Antigone Vs Creon The production of Antigone by Company B reviewed by Peta Tait is correct in multiple instances even though the production has an incorrect central conflict. Company B s production is correct when Tait explains how it portrays why Creon did not bury Polyneices body and just left it out to the animals instead (71). The production is also correct when implying why Creontreats Antigone and Ismene badly as if they have the dignity of animals (73). By looking at SophoclesAntigone, it portrays Creon of having the same understanding of Polyneices, Antigone, and Ismene too (Sophocles ?). This is why I have no issues with these parts in Company B s production. However, Tait also mentions the focus of the production are these actions by Creon which... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The reason for this is that it is more controversial. Creon does not receive a lot of support or is looked at as a role model from readers when he treats Polyneices, Antigone, and Ismene like animals. Most people would agree that it is not good to disregard a person enough to let his dead body rot with the animals and to call women snakes and leeches (Tait 73). The controversial issue that should be the central conflict is whether Antigone should have buried her brother even though she rebels against authority to doing so. This conflict can result in more disagreement than Creon s treatment towards Polyneices and the women for a few reasons. At the time Antigone was written, there was a negative outlook on women. They were not seen as people who should have the same rights as men, much less to act against any authority. This outlook is seen when Ismene demonstrations how women do not disobey authority by disagreeing with Antigone s decision to bury Polyneices (Sophocles 708). Even though most readers would agree that it was not good that women were treated less than humans when Sophocles wrote Antigone, they can still be disagreement when Antigone went against the law. While Tait notes that Haemon says to Creon that anyone would have done what Antigone did if they had a relative fed to the crows, I disagree. (Tait 73). Some people may reject what Antigone did ... The question Does God Exist? is a well known asked question in the world. Most people believe they know the answer to it. The religious people would say, well of course he does, while the non religious people or atheist would say no He does not exist. Because evil exist and chaos exists, God cannot be all powerful. In the modern world, there are many different opinions as to whether a God exists or not. This has been an issue of great dispute because many people reverence different gods or no god at all. For years, many philosophers have come up with theories, proofs, and hypotheses to prove the existence of God, and a canon of arguments has been developed. The Arguments for the Existence of God sets out to explain the everyday philosophical arguments for theism, and so to explore the case for the existence of God. The arguments themselves are arranged under the following headings: The Ontological Argument, The Cosmological Argument, The Teleological Argument, and The Moral Argument will determine if there really is a God. The ontological argument An argument that attempts to prove the existence of God through abstract reasoning alone is known as the Ontological argument.
