Advantages And Disadvantages Of Plastic Surgery
Is plastic surgery a good act to be done or not? The debate is on in the favor and against it from
the time of invention of plastic surgery. Plastic surgery is the making of body parts which are
damaged in accidents or are by birth affected or there could be cosmetic reason. The essay below
is going to discuss whether plastic surgeryis good to be done or not.
Firstly, it is often said that beauty of the person is not his/her appearance, but today the world have
changed and physical appearance has also become important for everyone. The technology has
improved a lot and has provided us with the chance of looking better through plastic surgery. There
are basically five benefits of plastic surgery which are; physical appearance, breathing, posture, ...

Without disagreeing with he fact that plastic surgery has uncountable benefits there are some
disadvantages of plastic surgery as well. The disadvantages of plastic surgery involves the risk
of complications, death and imperfect results. Moreover it is costly, slow healing and people
might get addicted to it. Most people are at risk of getting complications after the plastic surgery
because of their sensitive bodies. The chances of having disease, illness and infection are very
high. Complications can be very hard, for example, paralysis of face or other body parts, heart
rhythm might change to abnormal, airway obstruction, blood clots, damage in brain, heart
attack, etc... The rate of people who die due to plastic surgery is low. The surgery includes the
use of chemicals and tools that causes infection to the person s body. More bleeding, heart attack
and drop in blood pressure are common reasons that lead to death during the plastic surgery.
Plastic surgery does not always turn into what the person was desiring of. Sometimes people
have to revise the plastic surgery to get back their original look due to unlikeable and unexpected
results of first plastic surgery. The number of people going through the revision process of plastic
surgery are increasing day by day due to unexpected and undesired results. Above all that, plastic
surgery is a costly procedure. To have plastic surgery one have to be rich

Carl Jung And Alfred Adler
On May 6, 1856 one of the world s most influential theorist was born, Sigmund Freud. During his
childhood and adolescence years, his scholastic performance stood out. He graduated high school
with honors, and set out to study medicine at Vienna University. While studying medicine, he was
introduced to Ernest Von Bruke, who worked at the university as a physiology professor . Bruke
assisted Freud in obtaining a grant to study with a psychiatrist, by the name of Jean Martin Charcot.
In 1881 Sigmund Freudfinally earned his doctoral degree in medicine. In 1902, Freud began
working as a professor at his alma mater, Vienna University. In 1906 Freud worked alongside other
theorists to form the Psychoanalytic Society. Along with... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His development of the General Systems Theory was due to him believing human experiences,
along with social and scientific problems could be thought of, in terms of systems. According to
Francis Turner in the 4th edition of Social Work Treatment, Bertalanffy s goal was to achieve a
common perspective and clear view of the world as a great organization , where all disciplines
could be understood in their place (Turner, 1996, p.604). During his professional career Von
Bertalanffy worked in Vienna, London, Canada and the USA, as a professor at local universities
(Ludwig Von Bertalantffy, n.d.). His life came to an end at the age of 70, in June 1972 in New
York (Turner, 1996, p.604).
Tenants of Psychodynamic and Systems Theory
Systems theory was proposed in the 1940s by the biologist Ludwig von Bertalanffy (General
Systems Theory, 1968). Systems theory describes human behavior in terms of complex systems. It
is premised on the idea that an effective system is based on individual needs, rewards, expectations,
and attributes of the people living in the system. According to this theory, families, couples, and
organizations members are directly involved in resolving a problem even if it is an individual issue.
System theories emphasizes reciprocal relationships between the elements that constitute a whole.
These concepts also emphasize the relationships among individuals, groups, organizations, or
communities and mutually influencing

Comparing Storm On The Island And The Prelude
Introduction:
Both Seamus Heaney and William Wordsworth convey the power of nature through their poems
Storm on the Island and Extract from, The Prelude . A key point of comparison between these two
poems is that they both present nature as wielding power over man... Nature is presented as
powerful or even more powerful than man itself:
Heaney presents nature to be more powerful than the speaker and the rest of the island s
residents. This is done through Heaney s use of military language. This choice of semantic field
gives us the sense that man and nature are at opposition with one another and by the harsh military
verbs it seems safe to assume that the weather is the dominant force of the two. Arguably, the use
of an oxymoron reaffirms this struggle. To us, the oxymoron does not make sense but it is possible
that the irregularity is intended to reflect the unfair battle that the islanders face. This may show us
that the people on the island have made sense of what goes on even though we struggle to. Again,
this demonstrates the power of nature by making the weather appear to be unable to be matched by
man. Nature is presented as powerful or even more powerful than ... Show more content on

Wordsworth uses simple language in complex sentences to show how he is so in awe of nature
that he struggles to find the words to justify what he is seeing. This is most true following the
sighting of the huge peak . The regression in adjectives and shows us how nature has transformed
Wordsworth s language therefore being presented as powerful for doing so. Perhaps, the
metaphorical meaning of the poem that as humans there are forces greater than us that many, in
our proud, self centred state of mind, do not realise is being revealed to Wordsworth and causing
not only a change in language but in his views of life. This powerful meaning most certainly
attributes power to nature. There is a sense of being within a

1. The client acceptance process can be quite complex. Discuss five procedures an auditor should
perform in determining whether to accept a client. Which of these five are required by auditing
standards and identify the applicable standards?
1. Obtain an understanding of the client s business and operations. Consideration should be given
to reading available financial information regarding the prospective client such as annual reports,
registration statements, Forms 10 K, other reports to regulatory agencies and income tax returns.
2. Inquire as to the general reputation of high ranking employees, influential directors and
shareholders, as well as the entity itself. Carefully consider any matters that may negatively reflect

Why?
In order to minimize the likelihood of association with a client whose management lacks integrity,
Statement on Quality Control Standards No. 2, System of Quality Control for a CPA Firm s
Accounting and Auditing Practice, (QC Section 20.14) (applicable to auditing and accounting and
review services) provides that policies and procedures should be established for deciding whether
to accept or continue a client relationship and to perform a specific engagement for that client (QC
Section 20.14) , to minimize the likelihood of the specific policies and procedures established and
the nature and extent to which they may be documented may vary significantly from firm to firm.
Throughout the process, from initial consideration about accepting or continuing a client to
issuance of an audit report, auditors are faced with risk. This risk can be thought of as having three
components:
В• The entity s business risk The risk that the entity will not survive or will not be profitable.
В• The auditor s business risk The risk to the auditor from association with the client, consisting of
the risk of potential litigation costs and the related effect on the auditor s reputation and the risk of
other costs (not related to litigation) such as the effects on fee realization.
В• The auditor s audit risk The risk that the auditor may unknowingly fail to appropriately modify

drones. Some states and local municipalities have even also created their own statutes in order to

The Importance Of Music In The High School Band Room
Albert Schweitzer once said, There are two means of refuge from the miseries of life: music and
cats. While cats are really great, music can be a safe haven for many people; I myself feel most at
home when surrounded by music. The best place for me to have this safety, security and acceptance
is in the high schoolband room. For most, it is just a room filled with instruments and kids who
don t want to go to gym; but the memories and friends made there are what make that room so
special. The bandroom during class or a performance day is almost always full of noise and
activity. People are playing instruments, whether they are practicing difficult sixteenth note runs
or just making noise to warm up. The drum line is usually practicing their parts as loud as
possible, and the volume of the room just continues to rise. Those who aren t playing are usually
having conversations, and sometimes have to yell so their friend can hear their words. Every
bit of sound is amplified by the slanted ceiling, it s main function to propel sound forwards. The
walls are covered in motivational posters, most of them handmade by former band kids; the
instrument lockers and all of the shelves are crowded with every trophy earned by the band over
the years like a massive showcase. There is a thrum of energy in it all, and it is electrifying,
sending a jolt of excitement before a game, or helping to motivate us for the long practice ahead.
Whenever I have a bad day, walking into the band room

Mahatma Gandhi Impact
Mahatma Gandhi was truly one of history s greatest heroes. He sacrificed his entire life to help
those in need. Through his love, perseverance, and endurance, Gandhi changed the world.
Mahatma Gandhi, born Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, was born in Porbandar, India, on
October 2, 1896. He had two older brothers named Laxmidas and Karsandas and an older sister
named Raliabehn. He also had two half sisters born from his father s previous marriage. Out of
all of his siblings, Gandhi was the youngest (Rau 4). Gandhi s father, Karamchand, was the
diwan, or prime minister, of Porbandar. Because of this, Gandhi and his family lived a
comfortable life in a three story house along with numerous servants. On the other hand, Gandhi
s mother, Putlibai, had deep Hindu traditions. She was extremely religious. She could often be
found praying, fasting, and worshipping in the temple to honor God. Putlibai s devotion to the
Lord left a huge impression on Gandhi as a young boy (Rau 6 7). When Gandhi was seven years
old, he and his family moved to an inland city called Rajkot. This is where Gandhi started school.
Although he adored school, he was incredibly, painfully shy. Gandhi once stated that his books
and his lessons were his only companions. As soon as he was done with school, he would sprint
as fast as he could home to avoid any social interactions with his classmates. One of Gandhi s
many, many fears was that he would be made fun of him. At this point in his life, he was very

Curling Vs. Chess
Most people don t think about the games curling or chess much. Of those that do, most would
consider these two activities to have few to no similarities, except that neither of their
championships are going to be shown on ESPN. Curling is a game played on ice that consists of
multiple rounds, called ends, of each team taking turns sliding stones to have the most closest to the
center of a target, known as the house. Chessis a board gameplayed by two players taking turns
moving their playing pieces, each with different abilities, across a board with the goal of capturing
the opponent s king. Though these may seem like two mutually exclusive activities, they do share
one important element: they both rely heavily on strategy. The games curling... Show more content

In curling, the act of using a shot for the purpose of removing an opponent s stone from play is
known as a takeout shot. One primarily uses takeouts for the purpose of removing an opponent s
stone in scoring position from play. This can prevent the opponent from scoring during that end.
Chess also has an emphasis on removing opponents important pieces from play. Players often
take any opportunity to remove an opponent s queen or rook from play, even if removing it
results in the player losing one of their pieces. This happens because when one removes these
pieces, it makes it more difficult for the opponent to reach their final goal of capturing their
king. However, in each of these games, one may also remove an opponent s pieces used for
guarding others. In curling, one may take out the opponent s guards to make it easier for them to
place their own stones in a scoring position. In chess, a player may remove the opponent s pawns
for the for the purpose of making it easier to place the opponent s king in checkmate. In both these
games taking out the opponent s pieces clearly have important strategic benefits that help oneself as
well as making it more difficult for their opponent. Taking out an opponent s pieces shows another
tool used in each of these strategies, but these tools are only useful when one

Bitumen Love In Boy At The Window By Richard Wilbur
Bitumen Love Nothing is forever. Leaves fall off tress and fade away, making the presence of a
once beautiful and healthy tree, a cold and dead caucus. Just like trees, a childhood of an innocent,
sweet little boy vanishes over time, morphing the child into a depressed human with no joy; no
happiness; no life. Boy at the Window, by Richard Wilbur, portrays a sense of hope, warmth, and
compassion. Through this piece of literature, Wilbur explicitly presents a young boy s emotions
towards a snowmanthrough pint of view, personification, connotation, and irony. There are some
children who have large imaginations, while others only exceed to the edge if what they know.
The boy in this poem leads the reader to believe that his imagination expands further than anyone
else s. Although this little boy has a great imagination, his point of view isn t the happiest. In the
first stanza in Boy at the Window only the boy s point of view is shown. Through Wilbur s diction,
the child is expressed with melancholy emotions. The little boy wants the snowmanto come inside
because there will be a blizzard. The boy has tearsin his eyes and line three states, The small boy
weeps to hear the wind prepare... As the boy stares at the butter life beyond the window pane, his
heart only longs for the snowman s presence inside and feels pain. Some pieces of literature focus
on a character s point of view, but Richard Wilbur focuses on two points of view. While the first is

The Principles Of Professionalism And Professionalism
In this essay the principles of professionalism will be discussed including its importance to
education as a whole, and as a practitioner. The following will be discussed; assessing the different
understandings of professionalism, demonstrating factors such as self awareness, personal qualities
and skills. Then examine how these may impact a practitioner
Professionalism means different things to different people as suggest by Fox (1992, p. 2).
Examining the different meanings of professionalism Hanlon 1998 would agree with Fox stating
professionalism is what people think at a certain point in time. For example some may argue that

This has led to challenges in the workforce whereby the views of practitioners, and their ability to
behave professional have contradicted each other. For example some practitioners view their
qualifications and training as most important, whereby other practitioners may disagree with this
view stating their attitude, and values are just as important. This can cause issues in a workforce,
such as team work, and creating a positive environment. Being a professional working with young
children according to the samples of EYEs, in my research is not just about having qualifications,
training..... but also about attitudes and values, .....interpret the best for children and families,
commitment, enjoyment and passion for working with children Brock A 2006. This statement is
essential to understanding that outside qualification and teaching the characteristics of a
practitioner is crucial. Therefore a professional is a practitioner that maintains standards according
to education however understanding that their views, beliefs and qualities implicate them, and also
need to be incorporated in their approach in a positive way.
In order to do this, a practitioner needs to develop self awareness whereby understanding their own
attitudes, values and where these may arise from, consequently understanding the implication

Human Rights Act Of 1998
Rights that protect human beings and the extent of legality of what they are entitled to as people
are a core part of each constitution globally. The extent of human rights protection varies from
country to country, with total democracies having most human rights that encompass freedom of
speech and expression among other freedoms. These are the most sovereign of laws as they
express how liberal and powerful the majority can be as opposed to the minority being powerful in
some countries or kingdoms. In some countries, the part of the constitution (just answer legal) is
referred to as the Bill of Rights. In the United Kingdom, they are referred to as the human rightsact
of 1998. It was previously referred to as the Bill of rights though. As expressed in the UK

(www.parliament.uk, 2014).
Section 3 of the 1998 Human Rights act has equally been center of controversy and light about
various issues as who decides the extent to which the human rights stretch. The human rights act
expresses the human rights that are contained in the European Convention (Jeeves) on Human
rights as part of the UK laws in three forms as follow:

How Atopy Can Be Defined As The Genetic Tendency Of An...
Atopy can be defined as the genetic tendency of an individual to develop allergic diseases such as
allergic rhinitis, asthma and atopic dermatitis. It is also known as a hypersensitivity disorder or an
exaggerated immune reaction to a foreign antigen. It is associated with a heightened immune
response by the body to common allergens which may be inhaled, contact or food allergens
(Medicine net, 2016). Atopy also involves the capacity to produce immunoglobulin E (IgE) in
response to common environmental proteins, resulting in an IgE mediated allergy(Medscape, 2017).
As in the case study, an IgE mediated allergy to finned fish and crustaceans was established.

Inhalation of the seafood aerosols resulted in the asthma symptoms. Inhalation is also a common
route of entry for allergens into the systemic circulation.
Also, the constant skin contact with native fish and crustaceans for about 10years while working as
a truck driver was another predisposing factor. The longer the exposure time of the substance on the
surface of the body, the higher the dermal absorption of substances into the body (Mehta, 2004).
Another exposure factor is that the sensitization by the worker was facilitated by the wet and
cold conditions of the work environment (irritative factors). Increase in the water content and
temperature of the skin increases the rate and extent of dermal absorption of substances. A rise
in the temperature of the skin results in vasodilation which allows for the passage of more blood
in the dermal layers of the skin resulting in an increase in the transport via diffusion of harmful
materials into the body (Shier, Butler, Lewis, 2014, p. 136). When the integrity of the skin
surface is compromised or damaged by temperature trauma resulting from wet and cold conditions
of the sea food products, scrapes, cuts or bruises due to lack of hand gloves; its ability to serve as
an effective protective layer is affected (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health,
2013).
Therefore, the lower the integrity of the skin, the higher the permeability and extent of dermal
absorption of substances from the skin surface

A Problem for the Aviation Industry Essay
Section 217: A Problem for the Aviation Industry
On a cold February evening in 2009, just outside the city of Buffalo, New York, two pilots crashed
a new aircraft on final approach to land into Buffalo Niagara International Airport. In an effort to
prevent an accident of a similar nature from happening, the U.S. Congress passed H.R. 5900, the
Airline Safety and Federal Aviation AdministrationExtension Act. This bill under Title II was
aimed to enhance airline safety and in part prevent an accident of this nature from occurring again
(U.S. House 2010). Section 217 of the bill pushes the minimum hours required to act as a pilot on
a regional carrier up to 1,500 total flight hours and requires those persons to do an extensive Air ...

Asia s economy is booming and this has resulted in the growth of many startup carriers that offer
tax free salaries and free housing for pilots with less than 1500 hours a very attractive opportunity.
This may cause a potential migration of pilots that would lead to many U.S. airlines having planes
but no one qualified to fly them.
Further contributing to the shortage is that the cost to become a pilot is already expensive,
causing low interest in the field; this law would make it even worse. By calculation, if a
potential pilot were to start today, he would probably be facing a debt of between $50,000 and
$80,000 just to receive the flight training required to gain 250 hours (Chatterjee). Added to this
is the cost of attending a college with an accredited program. Potential pilots could be looking at
paying well over $200,000 in loans to be able to fly. Before this law passed, pilots were assured that
if they worked hard and passed through all the training received from college and flight school
they would be able to become a pilot with one of the regional carriers and make a small salary
while obtaining the required hours for one of the major carriers. Now, even this option has been
taken away by the government because of the new hour requirement. Many pilots will have to
look for work at their local airport for two or even three years without a steady pay in order to get a
job which will only

A Midwife s Tale Sparknotes
Laurel Ulrich s A Midwife s Tale
Before I watched A Midwife s Tale , a movie created from the diary found by Laurel Ulrich
chronicling the life of a woman named Martha Ballard, I thought the women in these times were
just housewives and nothing else. I pictured them doing the cleaning and the cooking for their
husbands and not being very smart because of the lack of education or them being unable to work.
My view on the subject changed however when I watched this specific woman s life and her work.
To know that there was a woman such as Martha back in those days is very interesting to me
because I especially did not think there were women who were as brave and independent as she
was. The lives of women in general, not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What I thought was weird is, in the movie, Martha asks the mother in labor who the father of the
baby is and that?s how they did paternity tests which seems so strange but it was the only way at
the time, I guess. She probably wasn?t happy when the spinster girl that worked at her house, in
the movie, said her son?s name during that crucial moment. After a hard day like this she got to go
home and clean her house and cook food, I can just imagine how fun this was.
The incident in the movie when I found out that the minister?s wife was pregnant by one of the
men who gang raped her amazed me because I didn?t know things like that happened back then.
And it was sad because she couldn?t really do anything about it because of the fact, like I said
before, the cards stacked in the men?s favor. Also, she was not able to prove the father of the
baby even though she thought it was North, there was still no way to make sure of it. This is
another thing that confirms that the women of this time were strong people, especially all the
other women who had to go through things like she had to. Martha Ballard also had endure a lot
of hard times as she got older. She couldn?t do the things she used to be able to do when she was
younger and probably more healthier. When her husband was put in jail for not collecting

cycles (Reddy and DeLaune, 2008). In the context of global biogeochemical budgets, it is the carbon
(C) cycle that wetlands influence the most. carbon density of wetlands are higher among all other
ecosystems due to its high productivity and slow decomposition rates, (Kayranli et al., 2010 ).
Recent works by the Ramsar Convention s Scientific and Technical Review Panel (STRP), states
that there are evidences showing importance and under estimated role of wetlands in both carbon
storage and the regulation of greenhouse gas emissions to the atmosphere.(2) significant amount of
carbon dioxide is emitted through degradation of wetlands .
Wetlands play an important role in regulating exchanges of greenhouse gases (water vapour, carbon
dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and sulfur dioxide) to and from the atmosphere . They depending
on temporal ,spatial and typical features ,wetlands tend to be sinks for carbon and nitrogen and
sources for methane and sulphur compounds..3 (figre 1) fig 1

James Brown Identity
Identity Can i see a raise of hands, who in this room listens to music which you consider to be
socially conscious? (ie lyrics which care about social problems) How many of you here identify
personally with what these artists are saying? Socially Conscious music became very prevalent
during the 1960s and remained widespread throughout the 70s, with soul music taking over from
folk music as one of the strongest voices of protest in American music. During these eras,
American young people believed they could make a difference in their society and government.
They believed that America was a democratic society that could be made better, freer, and more
just. Young people organized to end racial inequality, obtain equal rights for women, eliminate

The song marginalises the short term effects of the drug and chooses to focus on the negative
social problems. James Brown like a lot of other soul musicians sought to identify themselves as
anti drugs and socially conscious and used song as a method to get their message across. During
the height of the civil rights movement, Brown s lyrics gave the Black community a new

Machines In John Steinbeck s Grapes Of Wrath
Men create machines. Machines destroy men. Will this be the vicious cycle that ends mankind?
With machines taking over, it is difficult to see any other possible outcome. Machines are more
efficient, more intelligent, and overall better workers than the humans who created them. They
have already dominated over the farming industry, destroying homes and families, as seen in John
Steinbeck s Grapes of Wrath . In this novel, the Joad family is forced from their home by efficient
tractors that have taken over all the farms in their area. They must travel across America from
Oklahoma to California, leaving their home and everything they have ever loved behind. On their
journey, they face death of loved ones, starving children, and the struggle... Show more content on

Organisation (DMO), Tourism Australia.
Executive Summary
The purpose of this report is to examine the effectiveness of the Destination Marketing
Organisation, TourismAustralia, in marketing Australia as a tourism destination in relation to three
critical success factors; marketing research as an integral activity, targeting the right type of
tourist, as well as promoting unique tourism features, clear images, and a solid brand. There is
also a comprehensive analysis of two more recent campaigns, So Where the Bloody Hell are You?
and There s Nothing Like ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This involves working with Australian companies including airlines, travel agents and tour
operators so that anyone who sells Australian holidays can use the tagline imagery from this
campaign to ensure that Australia has solid branding world wide.
2.1 Marketing Research as an Integral Activity. Extensive research was conducted for Tourism
Australia through the research specialists Ipsos ASI in key target markets prior to the launch of the
There s nothing like Australia campaign (Tourism Australia, 2012). The key markets of Australia,
China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, UK and USA all had a select sample audience
that were tested with quantitative and qualitative research methods on different film concepts, print
media executions and a film soundtrack. The same stimulus materials and questionnaires were used
throughout all target markets with local language translators used when needed.
2.2Targeting the Right Type of Tourist
Tourism Australia (2013) is aware that a vital element of their There s Nothing Like Australia
strategy revolves around having a target market consisting of a high yielding consumer segment.
Through the use of psychographic research, Tourism Australia has determined the personal factors
that influence a tourist to travel and what makes them receptive to the Australian experience. These
identities lead to the title of the target market of Experience Seekers. This target market is highly

King Lear Nature
The concept of nature has become layered with many complexities due to the numerous ways the
word can be interpreted. It could mean anything from the inherent character or basic constitution of
a person or thing to the external world in its entirety to a spontaneous attitude (Merriam Webster).
However, despite its many forms, in its essence, nature as a concept implicates powerlessness for
individuals. It will always be something that is beyond human control, whether it be the forces that
work around people such as weather or animals, or the innate and uncontrollable characteristics
within one s personality. Nature has control over the world, and one can decide to either fight this
authority or succumb to it. This idea is seen very... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this play, words function as a mask that characters hide behind, while actions show their true
intentions. Accordingly, after the daughters who have no deep love for their father profess their
affection for him in a mendacious display of emotion, the daughter that loves Lear most,
Cordelia, refuses to compliment him, claiming she cannot heave [her] heart into [her mouth]
(1.1.88 89). She decides to rely on the actions of her past to reveal her affections, however, Lear
has yet to accept the value of honesty, so he rails against his youngest daughter exclaiming Let it
be so! Thy truth then be thy dower ...here I disclaim all my paternal care, propinquity and
property of blood, and as a stranger to my heart and me hold thee from this forever. (1.1.110
115). Both Lear s strong reaction and his rejection of truth and honesty reflect his own
insecurities and inability to divulge his genuine nature. Having lived his whole life like a
performance on stage, he feels threatened by Cordelia s rejection of a false grandeur which Lear,
whether he realizes it or not, sees as a personal attack against his own fabricated identity.
Consequently, lashing out from his jealousy for Cordelia s ability to remain true to herself, Lear
acts against his better judgment by banishing her, and foreshadows the ironic trajectory of this story.
As the play progresses, King Lear transcends from a point of supreme power to the lowest and most

What Is The Role Of Sports In The 80 s
The origins of the Cold War from 1917 1945, the United States was faced with tough times
during the 20 s and 30 s. The Great Depression led Americans to question capitalism due to
Russia and their communist beliefs doing well, even though Americans had no true context of
what was really going on in. This helped enforce the Soviets goal of international prestige. The
Soviet sports system introduced the raise the psychological and physical standards of their

With the 21st century ideal of consumerism, ESPN was the first to get rights to cover and film
college basketball. The first game they covered was the 1979 NCAA championship game
between Indiana State and Michigan State, which highlighted the future rivalry between Larry
Bird and Ervin Magic Johnson. These two helped pave the way of the NBA in the 80 s as flashy
and faced pace. This is a transition of the old school style of play of slowing the tempo and
passing to find the open layup. For example, the dunk contest helps with the flashy play with the
dunks of Dominique Wilkins, Spud Webb, and Michael Jordan. Everyone remembers Jordan s
dunk from the free throw line, in which hits the 21st century theme of making money. The

Ways To Grow Yeast Essay
Analysis: The production of carbon dioxide in the yeast with lactose had a lower average than
the average of yeast growing by it s self. The lactose sugar effected the respiration the most. Its
average growth was 3.896 and the plain yeast was 15.924; this makes the respiration rate 4 times
smaller than the respiration rate of the plain yeast. The yeast highest point was 19.75, while the
lactose only went up too 6.539; lactose is still 3 times smaller than yeast. Lactase was very
harmful, while lactase and sucrose didn t hurt as bad, but were not better than yeast. Lactase s
average respiration was about half of the yeast average respiration; while the average respiration
of the sucrose in the almond milk was also about half of the average respiration in yeast. When
looking at the smallest of the yeast and lactase you see the relationship of the lactase being half
more clearly; the yeast smallest is 13.22, while the lactase s is 6.07. Since 6 is half of 12, thirteen is

This is important because we use yeast to make a lot of things, like bread and how much stuff
uses bread, a lot. Finding the most effect way to grow yeast means we could make more food, in a
shorter amount of time, and expending less resources. The research shows that we should use milk
because the lactose sugar in milk decelerates the producing of carbon dioxide in yeast, meaning less
yeast. This experiment was conduced to find a better method for growing yeast and milk wasn t the
answer, but going farther on discovering that milk supplements don t work either, they too decrease
the respiration of the yeast. Almond milk, which contains sucrose, decreased the amount of yeast
by half making it inefficient to use to make yeast in high quantizes. This experiment has shown that
the best sugar supplement for yeast is glucose, because it produces the most carbon dioxide, while
lactose, lactase, and sucrose produce less by at least

notices that the president of the company is committing fraud and she asks Ahmad for his help.
The president is fired and Ahmad thinks that he will be the new president, but the board of
directors chooses Shirin as the new president. Ahmad refused that the new boss is his wife and he
starts to create problems at work and at home.
The main characters
Ahmad: the vice president of the medical company
Shirin: Ahmad s wife and the president of the same company
Discussion:
In this film, the character of Shirin is very influential and for the first time in Iranian cinema,
women character stereotypes are changed and a female character is the main character. The female
character is active and talkative as much as the male character. Shirin has 78 minutes on screen,

Monk Kidd characterizes T. Ray as a savage and a resentful widower. Before of his wife s death,
it seemed as if he was mistreating his wife, but the reason is unclear why he would be hurting
her (7). For example, while his wife is packing he comes upstairs and shakes her to stop her from
leaving him. T. Ray clearly shows the audience that he is not one to solve problems by simply
talking, but rather by physical abuse. However as the story slowly progresses, it seems as if he

Rosaleen is not afraid to stand up what she believes in. For instance, when she walks to town with
Lily, she is not afraid to tell the three white men that she is going to go register to vote (31).
Rosaleen seems to symbolize the civil rights movement occurring throughout the United States.
Rosaleen truly believes all African Americans should have the same rights as the average white
American. Rosaleen is also seen to be the only mother figure Lily has had after his mother s death.
Rosaleen is not afraid to stand up to T. Ray for Lily. In particular, Rosaleen bought Lily a purple
biddy that insisted on pooping wherever it wanted in the living room; therefore, T. Ray became
very upset, but Rosaleen stood up for Lily and told him at least it was not pooping all over the
house (11). Rosaleen shows that she is not afraid of anyone, no matter how tough they look and
act. Rosaleen is also the one character Lily falls back on when she feels sad and unloved. Rosaleen
loves Lily and treats her as if she was her daughter, possibly because she feels pity for Lily due to
the fact that Lily lost her mother and T. Ray never goes out of his way to make time for her. This
reason could also be why Rosaleen goes to Tiburon with Lily instead of staying in

In literature, it is usually easy for one to identify the protagonist and the antagonist. However, in
this book, such task might be quite difficult for one to do. Good and evil are completely mixed
in with one another amongst all of the characters, that one might confuse one over the other.
There are too many characters involved in this book who play both ends, that it is hard to tell
who is a hero or protagonist and who is an enemy or antagonist. An example would be Thomas

The Creation Of The United Nations
The creation of the United Nations (UN), the largest organization in the world introduced a new
reform for collective security around the world after the failure of the League of Nations. Such a
reform is vital for the international community as it zealously promotes concord and security, which
is the most important goal in the 21st century. Thus, has the UN been successful in promoting
international peace and security? To an extent, they have been when it comes to certain economical,
humanitarian and environmental conflicts that occur within particular situations. However, one
must take into account that the UN has failed in promoting such an itinerary when it came to the
nuclear proliferation, the failure to uphold amity in Sri Lanka, Rwanda and Srebrenica Massacre.
The failure of the League of Nations caused the establishment of the United Nations after the
Second World War in 1945. After the establishment of the UN in 1945, the world became
divided ideologically into two camps, whose leaders the USSR and the US treated each other in
total suspicion and appeared to oppose each other on every major issue. (Diel Latif) It was
impossible to create international peace and security when the world has been divided into two
camps who distrusted and oppose each other.

The Fairytale Of Cinderella By James Poniewozik
Each and every child grows up viewing Disney movies, wearing princess gowns, and buzz lightyear
suits. The parents of these children are the individuals purchasing these Disney costumes, toys,
candy, and other related items for their children. Our society today accepts Disney and their culture
of entertainment as a part of a child s childhood experience without second thought. Elements of the
fairytale of Cinderellahas adapted over time to please the culture in which it is told; yet in today s
culture, adaptation to these elements is taken to where it has never been. In The Princess Paradox,
James Poniewozik says, You can have the girly dream of glass slippers and true love, these films
say, as well as the womanly ideal of self determination and independence and any contradictions
between them are no match for the movies magic (Poniewozik 324). Peggy Orenstein compliments
Poniewozik s article because she states, The first Princess items, released with no marketing plan,
no focus groups, no advertising, sold as if blessed by a fairy godmother (Orenstein 327).
Poniewozik is trying to argue that films have altered the story of Cinderella in the 21st century
cinema realm due to the addition of the concept of feminism, women s separation from men, and
the traditional magic implemented within them. Orenstein marries these articles together indirectly
by pointing out that Disney legitimately had no marketing plan, yet they continue to rake in money.

Southwest Airlines and Microeconomics Southwest Airlines was created in 1967 and is
headquartered in Dallas, TX. Southwest offers flights to their passengers to get them to their

Southwest is reducing flights to try and be more efficient on their fuel consumption. Another
issue is the increase in ticket prices. Southwest Airlines has announced that they will be raising
their ticket prices to offset the high cost of jet fuel. In March of 2012 Southwest raised fares by
between $4 and $10 per round trip, depending on the distance (The Associated Press, 2012). In
today s economy, this may decrease the demand for flying and people may look for more
affordable ways to travel or not travel at all. When looking at the elasticity of demand Southwest is
extremely impacted by the elasticity of demand. Items such as externalities, unemployment,
inflation, and monetary, fiscal, and federal policies affect the elasticity of demand. The elasticity of
demand is based solely on current market conditions, the customer s purpose for travel, and
available substitutes. The airline industry is viewed has being unstable because it is based on
current market conditions, and the market is always changing. If Southwest decided that they
needed to increase their revenue they would have to start by raising the prices of their tickets. The
need for increased revenue would need to be passed on to the consumers . When a ticket price is

The Research Of Wings Wing Motion
1.1 The Research of Flapping Wing Motion
Flapping wing motion is observed from biological flying animals. Most scientist, biologists and
naturalists are attracted by this motion and have found over a million different species of insects
and 10,000 types of birds and bats fly with flapping wings [1]. In 1490, Leonardo da Vinci made a
flapping wings vehicle, also called ornithopter as shown in Figure 1.1, to explain and demonstrate
the theory of thrust generated from flapping wings. A huge amount of attempts to develop flying
vehicles were made at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th (Lilienthal, 1889; Lippisch,
1960) [2, 3], but most of them failed due to insufficient academic knowledge.
The result of one attempt was Knoller [5] and Betz [6] demonstrated the flapping wings generate
both thrust and lift of the aerodynamic force, also found motion correlations between wingspan,
flapping frequency, weight. According to Prandtl s formulation, Birnbaum [7] developed the first
analytical methods for calculating thrust and efficiencies of flat plates in pitching motion in
moderate frequencies. After a couple of decades, the research of flapping wing became more
detailed and wider, people observed that the operation of flapping wing is limited by objects
itself. Some kinds of large birds such as hawks, their wings are fixed while soaring or gliding. But
for the smaller birds and insects, they continuously flap in highly frequency in order to lift their
whole body. In

balanced sounds ideal for most Americans, this can be more difficult than it seems. Because of the
number of families living in poverty, eating a nutritious and balanced diet is a tremendous

Otherwise known as Food Stamps, this program was aimed towards those battling food insecurity
or hunger, and to assist them in purchasing food. This program has in fact helped to alleviate these
problems, but has resulted in another extreme: obesity. The article Do Food Stamps Cause
Obesity? Evidence From Immigrant Experience explains that monthly vouchers of food stamps
have been found to affect quantity and frequency of food consumption, with periods of high
consumption immediately following voucher receipt (Kaushal, 4). I find this to be unsurprising,
as when food is plentiful and readily available, splurging seems likely. Citizens that are qualified
for this program are essentially provided a sum of money in correlation to the number of family
members in their home. The money provided is enough to counteract hunger, but not nearly
enough to provide a healthy diet by any means. The article also provides that between 20 to 30
percent of food stamp recipients would spend less on food than their food stamp benefit amount if
they received cash instead of stamps. Because the food stamp is only exchangeable for food items,
this can limit the families spending power. When given their monthly allotment of food stamps, the
family will stock up on the inexpensive, unhealthy food, because it lasts the longest. When living
under these circumstances, the individual doesn t have a choice to be particular with the items they

How Did Pope John Paul II Influence The Development Of...
Pope John Paul II delivered his message in 1996 that evolution is compatible with Christian faith.
He shared the same views as Pope Pius XII, who wished to bring scholars and the church together
so that the holy could learn more about the developments in scientific research to provide aid for
reflections. He asked those whom her referred to as the scientific senate of the church that they
serve the truth. Pope John Paul II expressed delight for the first theme which is the origin of life
and evolution. This is a theme of high interest for the church since revelation contains its own
teachings concerning nature and the origin of man. He asked how the conclusions from both sides
could be brought together, and where could they find a solution if the views clashed. He also

interventions pronounced by the church regarding the origin of life and evolution. First being Pope
Pius XII affirmation that there is no conflict between evolution and faith. The second was an

Old Market Woman Essay
The Roman statue of the Julio Claudian period, The Marble Statue of Old Woman, more
commonly known as The Old Market Woman, depicts a mature woman of the Hellenistic Age
struggling. This marble sculpture is located in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which dates its
production within the first century After Common Era. Given that it is a Roman copy of a
Greek work from the second century Before Common Era, its classification belongs within the
Hellenistic period of art. This period style abandoned idealistic beauty by delving deeply into
realism and depicting things as they appear in real life. In addition, the period explored a much
greater sense of emotion while moving away from the classical heroic and archetypal portrayals as
well. Moreover,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The subject is not at all idealized in any manner, but rather the artist uses realism in such a way
that the statue depicts the woman crudely. This change occurred because as both political and
social changes strayed from the deep rooted Greek societal norms, so did Greek art from
idealism. Art of this age began to indulge in a variance of experiences and an individual s
uniqueness. Within this period, old age was also Feared and mourned beyond wont by the life
loving Greeks, whereas age previously signified wisdom. These themes of old age and the
associated misery were existent in many other works of art in the Hellenistic period. Sculptures
such as Myron s Drunken Old Woman, the Marble Statue of Old Fisherman, and others also
heavily equipped pathos and drama as the Old Market Woman did. The sculptures of the time were
constructed to bring out instant emotional reactions. To bring about this elevated state of emotion,
they aimed to depict more diverse states of consciousness and graver emotions by exaggerating

Sister Carrie Conflict Essay
In pages 65 79 of Sister Carrie, the major action is Carrie s internal conflict about her role as
Drouet s mistress, the first meeting between Carrie and Hurstwood, Carrie s progression toward
becoming Drouet s idea of a refined woman, and Carrie s growing attraction to Hurstwood as her
opinion of Drouet wanes. Prior to these events, Carriehad moved out of her sister s flat in Chicago

depends financially on Drouet, who takes her sight seeing and buys her material possessions (56).
Drouet also invites Hurstwood to meet Carrie some evening , and the other man agrees (59).
Following a narration about Hurstwood s dissatisfaction with his loveless home life, Sister Carrie
then brings attention to Carrie once again, who is still living under the care of Drouet. Despite
enjoying the material benefits of her situation, Carrie finds herself doubting the morality of the
arrangement. Through her sense of guilt, Dreiser explores society s concept of a kept woman, who
is supported financially in exchange for [a] sexual relationship (1/29 Lecture). Carrie would feel

Construction Safety Tips
This is why I feel there needs to be major changes in the way we educate the current and future
construction workers so that they can truly understand and make sure to make construction
safety one of there main focuses. One way of transforming the way construction safety is tough
to others is by creating an updated and effect online platform construction safety platform which
will educate employees in a very effective way. this online platform will not only go into detail in
regards to previous and new construction safety procedures, but it will also make sure that each
person who goes through the program comes out understanding all of the important construction
safety tips. The first unique feature that the program will include is mandatory pop quizzes.
These pop quizzes will come up throughout each safety chapter of the online program and will
test each individual with specific questions based of off each of the specific chapters they are
focusing on. Each chapter will have 20 pop quiz questions that will be asked throughout the
chapter. These questions will later be tallied up for a grade. It is mandatory that you score a b or
higher on each of the chapters total pop quiz questions. If you do not do this, then you will be
forced to have to go through the chapter again and be asked new questions. This process may
seem difficult, but it will truly educate each and every employee who follows the online program

Neutral Gender Bathroom Controversy
It is 2016, and today s society has become a more diverse community than ever. Although more
people have become open minded there is still one issue that is considered to be controversial. The
issue among transgender people, and the creation of neutral gender bathroom. This issue has
become controversial between the transgendercommunity and the government. The reason behind
this problem is that the transgender community in the recent years has gain momentum in being
accepted by society, but not the government. In my case, I believe that the creation of neutral gender
bathroom can bring a negative impact both psychological discomfort and physical danger to the
population.
The word transgender has become a common one in today s society. Especially after an article
published by The Washington Post, where it talked about a case in Virginia, where a high school
transgender student named Gavin Grimm, sued his highschool board, alleging that the policy
violated his civils right . The article also informs that the case reached the U.S. Court of Appeals

Albert Einstein is one of the most influential scientist of the 20th century, and he helped propel
advanced methods in science and education. When he first predicted the existence of gravitation

The Threat, Responsibility, and Solutions to Climate Change and Global Warming
If the Maldives cannot be saved today we do not feel that there is much of a chance for the rest of
the world. said Former President of the Maldives, Mohamed Nasheed, while sitting underwater
signing a document calling for global reduction in carbon emissions. He is right, if we do not start
improving the climate right now, our world will soon be under water like the lowest nation, the
Maldives which is predicted to be submerged by 2085. This paper will focus on four questions:
Why climate change, or global warming, is real? Why do human beings take major responsibility
for it? Why is it a top priority of every nation? And why can we believe that together you and I are
able to tackle it?
Despite numerous irrefutable evidence, many people including scientists, experts, and politicians
still deny the existence and urgency of climate change as well as human responsibility for the
problem. In their opinions, climate change is no more than a hoax of scientists and
climatologists. In a 2014 survey, a senior writer at The Huffington Post, Carolyn Gregoire
concluded 23 percent of Americans said they did not believe in global warming, and 53 percent
said it was not human caused. President elect Donald Trump who is among the global warming
denials, wrote on his Twitter the concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in
order to make U.S. manufacturing non competitive. He also said

The Effects Of Self-Regulation On School Readiness
Effects of Self Regulation on Preschoolers School Readiness
Self regulation is fundamental to children s development. It is children s ability to control and
manage their emotions and bodily functions, as well as maintain focus and attention (Gillespie
Seibel, 2006). It is an ability that appears as early as birth, such as when infants suck their thumb
to self soothe or shiver to keep warm. Self regulation is a skill that one continues to work on and is
needed throughout life. It is especially important in the early education years. Early childhood
education sets the foundation for school readiness and future academic success. School readiness
can include academic skills and non academic skills, such as self regulation. Self regulation
domains, such as emotion/behavioral regulation and executive function play a crucial role in
preschoolers school readiness. Emotion/behavioral regulation is defined as the ability to manage
one s emotions and behaviors, such as a child not crying when their toy gets taken away, as well as
following instructions (Bohlmann Downer, 2016; McClelland et al., 2007). Executive function is
defined as the cognitive processes involved in controlling emotions and behavior (McClelland et al.,
2007). Although previous literature has examined the effects emotion/behavioral regulation and
executive function has on school readiness, few studies bring both domains together, especially
among preschoolers. Therefore, further research is needed to

Darvocet, Darvon And Propoxyphene Products Liability Litig
The Plaintiff (Rector) likely has a strong argument that she should survive summary judgment
because there is a question of material fact on product identification. Courts have consistently held
that a brand name drug manufacturer cannot be held liable for injuries caused by a generic form
of the drug they produce. In re Darvocet, Darvon, and Propoxyphene Products Liability Litig., 756
F.3d 917, 940 (6th Cir. 2014). However, if plaintiffs claim they took the brand name drug itself,
then courts have tended to apply a low standard for product identification. Courts have been
reluctant to grant summary judgment on product identification even when the plaintiff has minimal
evidence that they took the brand name drug. In several cases, just the plaintiff s testimony about
the brand of the drug she took was sufficient to create a question of material fact. Furthermore,
courts have held defendants to a high standard on counter evidence and have generally required
nearly conclusive records to discount a plaintiff s evidence. However, Pfizer can point to several
cases that favorably discuss brand names and their generic uses, so Pfizer does have arguments it
can make to push for summary judgment. This... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As previously mentioned in the section about similar cases, courts have found that a brand name,

CIV.A. 2:04 0435, 2011 WL 2011485, at *2 (S.D.W. Va. May 23, 2011). The defendants compared
the situation to generic names such as kleenex or xerox that will often refer to a wide variety of

no evidence suggesting that the plaintiff or doctors were making that mistake.

Montgomery Bus Boycott Rosa Parks Arrest
Today, many people believed that the arrest of Rosa Parks in 1955 kicked off the Montgomery
Bus Boycott, and that her arrest is known to be the start of the Civil Rights Movement. To put it
bluntly, she did not start the Civil Rights Movement; the murder of Emmett Till is the catalyst
that started the Civil Rights Movement. As for the Montgomery Bus Boycott, that part is
slightly true and slightly false. Rosa Parks herself was not the first black woman who refused to
give up her seat. That right belongs to Claudette Colvin. Claudette Colvin, a 15 year old high
school student was arrested for refusing to give up her seat to a white couple. She was sent to
court despite the city law required passengers to move only if another seat was available, which in
this case there were no more seats available (McGuire 68). With this as major evidence, one would
think that she got off without a guilty sentence. That, in fact, did not happen. After she was found
guilty of breaking the law, Jo Ann Robinson and the WPC decided that it was time for a boycott,

for a purely innocent African American citizen who is well known. With it, the organization
wanted to show that white supremacists were targeting innocent black people because of their
skin color and not because of who they are. Colvin and Smith, sadly, would never be known

Things Fall Apart Igbo Culture
Chinua Achebe once said, the world is like a mask dancing...if you want to see it well, you do
not stand in one place, (Goodreads). Renowned for his novel Things Fall Apart, in which he
responds to the stereotypes of the British who conquered the continent of Africa in the era of New
Imperialism, Achebe explores Igbo culture through many aspects of daily village life.
Contradicting the racism employed by whites in the 1890s in order to justify slavery in earlier
history, Things Fall Apartoffers a new fresh perspective into the lives of ordinary villagers of the
Igbo tribe in Nigeria, before they are taken over by the British. Just as the whites in Europe, the
tribe applies their own religion, customs, beliefs, and language to their lives. Through this lens the
reader is able to extract a deeper meaning of the powerful message Achebe communicates by
penning the famous novel.

His development of the General Systems Theory was due to him believing human experiences, along with social and scientific problems could be thought of, in terms of systems. According to Francis Turner in the 4th edition of Social Work Treatment, Bertalanffy s goal was to achieve a common perspective and clear view of the world as a great organization , where all disciplines could be understood in their place (Turner, 1996, p.604). During his professional career Von Bertalanffy worked in Vienna, London, Canada and the USA, as a professor at local universities (Ludwig Von Bertalantffy, n.d.). His life came to an end at the age of 70, in June 1972 in New York (Turner, 1996, p.604). • 4. Comparing Storm On The Island And The Prelude Introduction: Both Seamus Heaney and William Wordsworth convey the power of nature through their poems Storm on the Island and Extract from, The Prelude . A key point of comparison between these two poems is that they both present nature as wielding power over man... Nature is presented as powerful or even more powerful than man itself: Heaney presents nature to be more powerful than the speaker and the rest of the island s residents. This is done through Heaney s use of military language. This choice of semantic field gives us the sense that man and nature are at opposition with one another and by the harsh military verbs it seems safe to assume that the weather is the dominant force of the two. Arguably, the use of an oxymoron reaffirms this struggle. To us, the oxymoron does not make sense but it is possible that the irregularity is intended to reflect the unfair battle that the islanders face. This may show us that the people on the island have made sense of what goes on even though we struggle to. Again, this demonstrates the power of nature by making the weather appear to be unable to be matched by man. Nature is presented as powerful or even more powerful than ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Wordsworth uses simple language in complex sentences to show how he is so in awe of nature that he struggles to find the words to justify what he is seeing. This is most true following the sighting of the huge peak . The regression in adjectives and shows us how nature has transformed Wordsworth s language therefore being presented as powerful for doing so. Perhaps, the metaphorical meaning of the poem that as humans there are forces greater than us that many, in our proud, self centred state of mind, do not realise is being revealed to Wordsworth and causing not only a change in language but in his views of life. This powerful meaning most certainly attributes power to nature. There is a sense of being within a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In order to minimize the likelihood of association with a client whose management lacks integrity, Statement on Quality Control Standards No. 2, System of Quality Control for a CPA Firm s Accounting and Auditing Practice, (QC Section 20.14) (applicable to auditing and accounting and review services) provides that policies and procedures should be established for deciding whether to accept or continue a client relationship and to perform a specific engagement for that client (QC Section 20.14) , to minimize the likelihood of the specific policies and procedures established and the nature and extent to which they may be documented may vary significantly from firm to firm. • 9. The Importance Of Music In The High School Band Room Albert Schweitzer once said, There are two means of refuge from the miseries of life: music and cats. While cats are really great, music can be a safe haven for many people; I myself feel most at home when surrounded by music. The best place for me to have this safety, security and acceptance is in the high schoolband room. For most, it is just a room filled with instruments and kids who don t want to go to gym; but the memories and friends made there are what make that room so special. The bandroom during class or a performance day is almost always full of noise and activity. People are playing instruments, whether they are practicing difficult sixteenth note runs or just making noise to warm up. The drum line is usually practicing their parts as loud as possible, and the volume of the room just continues to rise. Those who aren t playing are usually having conversations, and sometimes have to yell so their friend can hear their words. Every bit of sound is amplified by the slanted ceiling, it s main function to propel sound forwards. The walls are covered in motivational posters, most of them handmade by former band kids; the instrument lockers and all of the shelves are crowded with every trophy earned by the band over the years like a massive showcase. There is a thrum of energy in it all, and it is electrifying, sending a jolt of excitement before a game, or helping to motivate us for the long practice ahead. She was extremely religious. She could often be found praying, fasting, and worshipping in the temple to honor God. Putlibai s devotion to the Lord left a huge impression on Gandhi as a young boy (Rau 6 7). When Gandhi was seven years old, he and his family moved to an inland city called Rajkot. This is where Gandhi started school. Although he adored school, he was incredibly, painfully shy. Gandhi once stated that his books and his lessons were his only companions. As soon as he was done with school, he would sprint as fast as he could home to avoid any social interactions with his classmates. Chess also has an emphasis on removing opponents important pieces from play. Players often take any opportunity to remove an opponent s queen or rook from play, even if removing it results in the player losing one of their pieces. This happens because when one removes these pieces, it makes it more difficult for the opponent to reach their final goal of capturing their king. However, in each of these games, one may also remove an opponent s pieces used for guarding others. Also, the constant skin contact with native fish and crustaceans for about 10years while working as a truck driver was another predisposing factor. The longer the exposure time of the substance on the surface of the body, the higher the dermal absorption of substances into the body (Mehta, 2004). Another exposure factor is that the sensitization by the worker was facilitated by the wet and cold conditions of the work environment (irritative factors). Increase in the water content and temperature of the skin increases the rate and extent of dermal absorption of substances. A rise in the temperature of the skin results in vasodilation which allows for the passage of more blood in the dermal layers of the skin resulting in an increase in the transport via diffusion of harmful materials into the body (Shier, Butler, Lewis, 2014, p. 136). When the integrity of the skin surface is compromised or damaged by temperature trauma resulting from wet and cold conditions of the sea food products, scrapes, cuts or bruises due to lack of hand gloves; its ability to serve as an effective protective layer is affected (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, 2013). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Asia s economy is booming and this has resulted in the growth of many startup carriers that offer tax free salaries and free housing for pilots with less than 1500 hours a very attractive opportunity. This may cause a potential migration of pilots that would lead to many U.S. airlines having planes but no one qualified to fly them. Further contributing to the shortage is that the cost to become a pilot is already expensive, causing low interest in the field; this law would make it even worse. By calculation, if a potential pilot were to start today, he would probably be facing a debt of between $50,000 and $80,000 just to receive the flight training required to gain 250 hours (Chatterjee). Added to this is the cost of attending a college with an accredited program. Potential pilots could be looking at paying well over $200,000 in loans to be able to fly. Before this law passed, pilots were assured that if they worked hard and passed through all the training received from college and flight school they would be able to become a pilot with one of the regional carriers and make a small salary while obtaining the required hours for one of the major carriers. Now, even this option has been taken away by the government because of the new hour requirement. Our society today accepts Disney and their culture of entertainment as a part of a child s childhood experience without second thought. Elements of the fairytale of Cinderellahas adapted over time to please the culture in which it is told; yet in today s culture, adaptation to these elements is taken to where it has never been. In The Princess Paradox, James Poniewozik says, You can have the girly dream of glass slippers and true love, these films say, as well as the womanly ideal of self determination and independence and any contradictions between them are no match for the movies magic (Poniewozik 324). Most scientist, biologists and naturalists are attracted by this motion and have found over a million different species of insects and 10,000 types of birds and bats fly with flapping wings [1]. In 1490, Leonardo da Vinci made a flapping wings vehicle, also called ornithopter as shown in Figure 1.1, to explain and demonstrate the theory of thrust generated from flapping wings. A huge amount of attempts to develop flying vehicles were made at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th (Lilienthal, 1889; Lippisch, 1960) [2, 3], but most of them failed due to insufficient academic knowledge. The result of one attempt was Knoller [5] and Betz [6] demonstrated the flapping wings generate both thrust and lift of the aerodynamic force, also found motion correlations between wingspan, flapping frequency, weight. According to Prandtl s formulation, Birnbaum [7] developed the first analytical methods for calculating thrust and efficiencies of flat plates in pitching motion in moderate frequencies. After a couple of decades, the research of flapping wing became more detailed and wider, people observed that the operation of flapping wing is limited by objects itself. Some kinds of large birds such as hawks, their wings are fixed while soaring or gliding. But for the smaller birds and insects, they continuously flap in highly frequency in order to lift their whole body. In ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Evidence From Immigrant Experience explains that monthly vouchers of food stamps have been found to affect quantity and frequency of food consumption, with periods of high consumption immediately following voucher receipt (Kaushal, 4). I find this to be unsurprising, as when food is plentiful and readily available, splurging seems likely. The police had no evidence so they dug into Capone s business to find documentations that would hold him accountable for tax fraud. He called for peace conference with all city criminals and the agreement only lasted two months. On February 14, 1929 Al Capone ordered Jack Mcgurn s gunmen to shoot seven of Moran s men in cold blood at a North Side garage. • 52. The Effects Of Self-Regulation On School Readiness Effects of Self Regulation on Preschoolers School Readiness Self regulation is fundamental to children s development. It is children s ability to control and manage their emotions and bodily functions, as well as maintain focus and attention (Gillespie Seibel, 2006). It is an ability that appears as early as birth, such as when infants suck their thumb to self soothe or shiver to keep warm. Self regulation is a skill that one continues to work on and is needed throughout life. It is especially important in the early education years. Early childhood education sets the foundation for school readiness and future academic success. School readiness can include academic skills and non academic skills, such as self regulation. Self regulation domains, such as emotion/behavioral regulation and executive function play a crucial role in preschoolers school readiness. Emotion/behavioral regulation is defined as the ability to manage one s emotions and behaviors, such as a child not crying when their toy gets taken away, as well as following instructions (Bohlmann Downer, 2016; McClelland et al., 2007). Executive function is defined as the cognitive processes involved in controlling emotions and behavior (McClelland et al., 2007). Although previous literature has examined the effects emotion/behavioral regulation and executive function has on school readiness, few studies bring both domains together, especially among preschoolers. Therefore, further research is needed to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 54. Darvocet, Darvon And Propoxyphene Products Liability Litig The Plaintiff (Rector) likely has a strong argument that she should survive summary judgment because there is a question of material fact on product identification. Courts have consistently held that a brand name drug manufacturer cannot be held liable for injuries caused by a generic form of the drug they produce. In re Darvocet, Darvon, and Propoxyphene Products Liability Litig., 756 F.3d 917, 940 (6th Cir. 2014). However, if plaintiffs claim they took the brand name drug itself, then courts have tended to apply a low standard for product identification. Courts have been reluctant to grant summary judgment on product identification even when the plaintiff has minimal evidence that they took the brand name drug. In several cases, just the plaintiff s testimony about the brand of the drug she took was sufficient to create a question of material fact. Furthermore, courts have held defendants to a high standard on counter evidence and have generally required nearly conclusive records to discount a plaintiff s evidence. However, Pfizer can point to several cases that favorably discuss brand names and their generic uses, so Pfizer does have arguments it can make to push for summary judgment. This... In Michael v. Wyeth, the defendants raised the argument that brand names are suspect because they can be used to refer to generic products. No. CIV.A. 2:04 0435, 2011 WL 2011485, at *2 (S.D.W. Va. May 23, 2011). The defendants compared the situation to generic names such as kleenex or xerox that will often refer to a wide variety of products besides the brand products. Id. But the Court rejected this argument, finding that there was no evidence suggesting that the plaintiff or doctors were making that mistake. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 55. Montgomery Bus Boycott Rosa Parks Arrest Today, many people believed that the arrest of Rosa Parks in 1955 kicked off the Montgomery Bus Boycott, and that her arrest is known to be the start of the Civil Rights Movement. To put it bluntly, she did not start the Civil Rights Movement; the murder of Emmett Till is the catalyst that started the Civil Rights Movement. As for the Montgomery Bus Boycott, that part is slightly true and slightly false. Rosa Parks herself was not the first black woman who refused to give up her seat. That right belongs to Claudette Colvin. Claudette Colvin, a 15 year old high school student was arrested for refusing to give up her seat to a white couple. She was sent to court despite the city law required passengers to move only if another seat was available, which in this case there were no more seats available (McGuire 68). With this as major evidence, one would think that she got off without a guilty sentence. That, in fact, did not happen. After she was found guilty of breaking the law, Jo Ann Robinson and the WPC decided that it was time for a boycott, and they wanted... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What they mean is this: she looks like she could be anybody s grandmother. Rosa Parks has no mark on her record, she is middle class, and she is well known among African Americans. This is because of respectability. The politics of respectability plays into this because they were looking for a purely innocent African American citizen who is well known. With it, the organization wanted to show that white supremacists were targeting innocent black people because of their skin color and not because of who they are. Colvin and Smith, sadly, would never be known because if they had become symbols of the movement, they would have been labeled as stereotypes (worse ones, in fact) by the White ... • 56. Things Fall Apart Igbo Culture Chinua Achebe once said, the world is like a mask dancing...if you want to see it well, you do not stand in one place, (Goodreads). Renowned for his novel Things Fall Apart, in which he responds to the stereotypes of the British who conquered the continent of Africa in the era of New Imperialism, Achebe explores Igbo culture through many aspects of daily village life. Contradicting the racism employed by whites in the 1890s in order to justify slavery in earlier history, Things Fall Apartoffers a new fresh perspective into the lives of ordinary villagers of the Igbo tribe in Nigeria, before they are taken over by the British. Just as the whites in Europe, the tribe applies their own religion, customs, beliefs, and language to their lives. Through this lens the reader is able to extract a deeper meaning of the powerful message Achebe communicates by penning the famous novel. The village portrayed in Achebe s Things Fall Apart demonstrates many different customs... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the first defining characteristics that the reader notices about Okonkwo is his ability to wrestle with other men. As a young man of only eighteen, he earned his reputation by throwing Amalinze the Cat, (1). This equates power in the clan to physical strength and fortitude. Another indication of a man s reputation is his acquired amount of material objects. When he is still young, Okonkwo grows two barns full of yams, and [marries] his third wife, (8). A man s reputation in the clan is determined by material objects, including wives. When the missionaries finally arrive, Christianity arrives as well. After a while, however, Christianity is associated with the efulefu, or worthless, empty men, or simply, those without title, (143). The advent of the new religion only makes the Igbo hierarchy even more fragmented and severe, making Okonkwo further egotistical regarding his position in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
