4. STEP YES, STEP NO!
∙ The teacher will group the class into 4.
∙ Each group will be provided with a Step Yes/No
diagram containing each box the steps in assessing
emergency situation.
∙ 1 member per group shall take 1 box and response
step yes/no. If they think the step is not in its correct
order, they will say No and transfer it to its appropriate
box. Until they’ve got all the correct steps. The first
group to finish wins the game and earn points/prize.

8. STEPS IN ASSESSING EMERGENCY
SITUATIONS

• If yes, can the danger be easily managed?
• If it cannot, call for emergency help and protect the
scene.
• Gently shake the shoulders and ask a question: Hey, hey, hey are you
okay?
• If the victim responds, treat any life-threatening condition.
• If there is no response, check the airway.
• Do the “head tilt lift method”. Lift the chin, remove any
obstructions present, then gently tilt back the head.
• If breathing check for and treat any life threatening
conditions and place in the recovery position.
• If not breathing, give two rescue breaths; pinch the
nose, seal mouth over the victims mouth and breath
into the person.
• Look for signs of life such as movement and
normal skin color for a few seconds.
• If the victim is child or an adult who has suffered
from drowning or accident, proceed directly to the
CPR.

nearest hospital or if simple cleansing and band
aid will do.
4. If you are certified in CPR and a victim needs,
begin CPR right away.
