This document discusses the health consequences of obesity. Obesity leads to over 300,000 deaths per year in the United States and is a leading cause of preventable death. Obesity increases the risk of numerous health issues such as heart disease, diabetes, cancer, strokes, and arthritis. Losing weight can significantly improve one's health by reducing these risks.
