ASSIGNMENT QUESTION
“Childrenlove puppets. They enjoy interacting with puppets during puppet shows and story time.”
In this assignment you are required to interpret and analyse of the data that have been collected
from interviews in order to better understand teachers’ perceptions and beliefs concerning the
impactof puppets onlanguage andliteracydevelopment of young children. Following this, you are
goingto reflectandevaluate yourownperceptionsandbeliefsbasedonapuppet-based lesson that
you have conducted.
Part 1:
1. Read Topic 7 Puppets in Module HBEC2103 Language and Literacy for Early Childhood
Education.
2. Conduct separate interview sessions on TWO teachers from either a child care centre or
preschool. Should you need to record the interviewees’ responses, ensure that you have
received their permission beforehand.
3. The interview session will address the following aspects:

benefits of using puppets

4. Write a report based on your analysis of the interview data from both teachers.

3. State clearly why you decided to use puppets in your class. Include TWO appropriate
