Juxtaposition In Ideas
The foil poems The Chimney Sweeper Songs of Innocence and The Chimney Sweeper Songs of
Experience by William Blake show a clear juxtaposition in ideas. Songs of Innocence, shows an
idyllic view of religion, with a faithful boy entrusting his future to a higher power. In contrast, the
second poem, Songs of Experience, shows a cynical view of religion with no hope for a better
future. As a result of these ideas, the author conveys a sense of hopelessness for the future of these
children, regardless of their ideals. Through tone and imagery, William Blakeshows the hypocrisy of
religion in relation to child labor during the eighteenth century.
The tones in each of the respective poems show a contrasting view point of life. The naГЇve tone of

Throughout Songs of innocence the rhyme scheme AABB CCDD and continues where two lines
which rhyme before continuing to the next set. This has the effect of making the poem seem
surreal or unrealistic, since it gives the poem a fluid and sing song like rhythm. The rhyme
underscores the main idea of the subject matter of the poem by showing that the dream which
Tom Dacre has and the hope that the narrator gains as a result of this dream, are purely fantasy.
As the poem continues, the rhymes in the last stanza are not the same complete rhymes as the
ones that were used in the beginning part of the poem. The words dark (l. 21) and work (l.22)
along warm (l.23) and harm (l.24) are only half rhymes, again revealing the hope that the boys
have that their hard work will be rewarded, is only an illusion. Similarly, The Chimney Sweeper
Songs of Experience, uses AABB in the first stanza. This is done to show a clear dichotomy
between the two speakers at the beginning of the poem. However, as the poem progresses, the
rhyme scheme changes to CACA DEDE. As a result of the alternating lines in the poem, the
fanatical element which was exhibited in the first poem is not present. The alternating lines are able
to the conflicting ideas of the young chimney sweeper. The chimney sweeper describes his
situation, saying that he believes his parents made him begin chimney sweeping because they

Environmental History Of The Oceans And Seas
Environmental history of the oceans and seas are daunting topics, either because of the vastness of
the oceans and seas, the artificial boundaries, or their seemingly changelessness. Until about 1990,
with Arthur McEvoy s The Fisherman s Problem: Ecology and the Law in California Fisheries,
1850 1980, historians largely ignored marine ecosystems as areas of research. Focusing instead on
inland fisheries, environmental historians have still had to be exhorted... to embrace this
opportunity of expanding the discourse of human impacts on marine environments. Scientists,
anthropologists, archeologists, and historical ecologists have thus far dominated the production of

show how human disturbance of marine ecosystems in ancient populations. Ranging from
Caribbean, North American Pacific, North Atlantic, and Mediterranean, Human Impacts examines
archeological and historical ecological data and case studies from around the world to summarize
the history of human coastal occupation, environmental change, and human impacts in their area.
Similarly, in Historical Overfishing and the Recent Collapse of Coastal Ecosystems, Jeremy
Jackson et al. highlights through paleoecological, archeological, and historical data that aboriginals
extensively fished coastal ecosystems, resulting in damaged ecosystems. Through the use of
archeological and historical data, these scholars challenge the supposedly superior ecological
wisdom of non Western and precolonial societies. These scholars highlight the damages and
exploitation of early human societies on marine ecosystems. However, the data surrounding
aboriginal impacts on early marine ecosystems is scarce resulting in fewer scholarly articles on the
subject.

Harold Holt Conspiracy Theory
Since the disappearance of the Prime Minister, Harold Holt in 1967, numerous conspiracy
theories have evolved surrounding the nature and circumstances of the event. Some believe that
Mr. Holt was simply another victim of the sea while others are convinced that Holt faked his own
death to flee with his lover, or think that Holt was a taken by a Chinese submarine. These and
many more theories continue to exist and circulate some 48 years later. The most prominent
theory that attempts to explain Harold Holt s disappearance states that he was a victim of the sea.
This involves ideas claiming that he was attacked by a shark or a different marine animal or
drowned because of the rough nature of the water. Witnesses have stated that they saw a build

Women in Tennessee Williams A Streetcar Named Desire and Arthur Miller s Death of a Salesman
The part of Stella and Linda are both archetypal female figures in that they follow the typical
fictional role of the submissive wife and mother. In A Streetcar Named Desire, Stella DuBois
(renamed Mrs.
Stanley Kowalski) supports and forgives her husband, defending him against any criticism.
Likewise, in Death of a Salesman, Linda the only female character with any import is a meek, timid
figure around her husband. This weakness is underscored by the sentence structure and diction that
each character uses when in conflict with their husband. As both Tennessee Williams and Arthur
Miller are men, it can be seen that their female ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is possible that many men desire this sort of unconditional support and forgiveness who ever
wants to be blamed for their mistakes and behavior but it is unrealistic to show a woman who
tolerates this action even to the point that they end up hurting their husband, or another character.
Linda s blindness leads indirectly to Willy s suicide, and Stella s unwillingness to open her eyes to
Stanley s actions ends with Blanche being taken away to a mental institution.
Both of these characters also forgive their husbands in spite of their abuse, and back down during
any conflict. Stella in scene 3 is hit by
Stanley; during the poker scene he gives a loud whack of his hand on her thigh. All that Stella does
in reproach is say, That s not fun,
Stanley. During scene 8, Stanley yells at both Stella and Blanche:
What do you two think you are? A pair of queens? Stella s reaction is only to cry weakly , asserting
her inferior position to Stanley.
Linda s problem is verbal abuse. Willy continually yells at her for simply trying to talk: Will you

The Importance Of Tradition In Shirley Jackson s The Lottery
Following Tradition
When one thinks of the word tradition, the thought that often comes to mind is a positive one, such
as the thought of Christmas dinner at grandma s house or church on Easter Sunday. Most of these
traditions we follow blindly, meaning that it is just something we do even if we do not remember
why. According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary, a traditionis an inherited, established, or
customary pattern of thought or action (757). Since it is inherited, we do not really have a say in
receiving it or not. It is expected that we continue the tradition because that s what our ancestors
have done. While following a long line of tradition can be truly great, when the reason for the
tradition becomes blurred it can become harmful. In Shirley Jackson s The Lottery, blindness can be
undesirable when following a tradition and can make that tradition dangerous.
My family has many traditions that we practice. As I mentioned before we go to Church on
Easter Sunday. Many little details make this tradition the tradition that it is. The whole family
gets dressed up in their very best and as a family we go to mass and praise Jesus. After mass, we
stay dressed up and meet our relatives at CafГ© 422 for a giant Italian meal. Once we all are too
stuffed to take in anymore, we retreat to my aunt s house where we can finally get into
comfortable clothing and hang out in the living room usually playing some type of game or
watching a movie. For me, I follow this tradition

Theme Of Anthropology In The Movie Avatar
Biocultural anthropology looks at the relationships between human biology and culture. In the
movie Avatar, the Na vi are humanoids species native to Pandora, standing 6 feet tall with blue
skin and a long tail; But one of the characters, Parker Selfridge from the human world, a selfish
and greedy man, refers the Na vi as blue monkeys and savages . The Na vi natives are very
spiritual believers and they believe all living beings in Pandora lives in unity. Every living creature
that is born on Pandora has neural connection fibers. Not only Humanoids and animals have these
neural connection fibers but also trees which allows all breathing creatures to plug in to each other
s neural system network. This lets them feel each other s thoughts and emotions. In the movie, Jake
Sully, a humanman, is connected to the Na vi world by a computer generated machine that links his
mind with his avatarbody which could interact with the natives of Pandora. He finds himself
feeling more connected with himself in his avatar body than his actual body in the real world;
For the reason that in the real world, he is paralyzed and can t walk so he feels handicapped. In
his avatar body, he could be normal again and do the things he couldn t do in real life like run on
his two feet. Also, humans didn t know how to connect with each other s feelings and he was able
to connect and feel the spirits and emotions with the Na vi of the Pandora world.

How To Write An Essay On The Sorcerers Of The Nightwing
Recently I read this book called Sorcerers of the Nightwing by Geoffrey Huntington, it is a great
book by the way. In the beginning, you will meet a young boy named Devon, who is attacked by a
demon as a young boy. Fast forwarding a few years later Devon s father gets very sick, he dies, but
tells Devon that he is adopted. Soon after he is sent to a place called Misery Point, where he
meets Amanda and Cecily Crandall, and Alexander Muir. He lives with them at Ravenscliff, a
very creepy house on top a hill in Misery Point. Later Devon faces a demonthat appeared out of his
closet, he remembers his father s words from when he was young, that he is stronger than any of
them. He defeats the demon in without fear, and questions why it was there.... Show more content

Unfortunately for Devon, it s not that simple.Around a quarter way through the book, with D.J.,
Marcus, Cecily, and Natalie; Devon went to Gio s, a local pizza place. Being as the chapter is
called The Boy With the Talons for Hands, you could guess it s probably not a human boy. After
conversing with the group about how they all came to be friends, and then they suddenly heard a
noise and commotion coming from outside of the parlor. D.J. attempts to break up the fight when
Devon realizes that it is no kid that is in that fight. Though the kid had brandish hair, a small frame,
jeans, and Nike sneakers; something was off about him... Maybe it was the talons that he was
pummeling the other kid with. Then after telling the demon to go back to hell, punched the demon
straight in the face, sending the demon flying out of the door. Devon was praised for his bravery
and stares of awe from the crowd around them, even D.J. asking How d you get to be so strong?
in an awestruck way. Despite not being able to avoid the demon, he did save someone from being
seriously hurt; thus avoiding more pain than needed, which probably was more of a demon for
him. Surprisingly enough, all he had to do was punch the thing in the face and BAM! The demon s

The Environmental Effects Of Landfills
Not many people know that their trash ends up in a landfill or what it is doing to the
environment. When trash ends up in a landfill it builds up in to a lager pile, starts to release
toxic gases, and pollutes the ground it sits on. Most of the time the trash is burned to make
more room for more trash. Landfills have a big effect on the environment. Landfills make gas
composition. Is there a way to use LFG to our benefit? How many landfills are being used for
their gases in the United States? Some companies are working on using the toxic gases to our
benefit. Even animals are being affected by the trash in landfills. What can people do to help
reduce the trash in landfills? When trash ends up in a landfill it does not decompose like compost
it just sits there because there is lack of oxygenand low amounts of moisture, so it does not break
down very rapidly. Because the trash just sits there, it starts to release gases like sulfur dioxide,
methane, ammonia, hydrogen, and nitrogen oxide. All of those are very toxic for the environment.
The gases in a landfill can move thought soil and collect inside building or homes that are nearby.
These gases can cause health problems for people that breathe them in or are nearby.
Once hydrogen sulfide and ammonia are in the air, it causes coughing, and irritation to people s
eyes, nose, and even the throat. Out of both chemicals, hydrogen sulfide has a foul smell, such as,
rotten eggs while ammonia has a stronger foul smell, such as

Essay On The Right To Bear Arms
Support the Right to Carry a Concealed Weapon
More than seven out of eight people in the United States own one or more guns ( Gun Control ). If
the United States does not support and protect gun rights, then we will lose them and will be a step
towards tyranny. In order to protect our freedoms and our individual safety, the nation needs to
continue to protect our right to keep and bear arms. The nation needs to look at the outcomes of
past societies with strict gun control. The United States also needs to look at the rights that some
are trying to get rid of because they think it will help with the crime rate when really it will actually
have the reverse effect. The nation needs to fight for the citizens freedoms and defend the Second
Amendment, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On July 26, 2014, U.S. District Court Judge, Frederick Scullin Jr., vetoed Washington, DC s ban on
carrying a handgun outside the citizen s property for self defense ( Concealed Guns ). If the law
had been passed, then DC would become a popular location for criminals because no one besides
local authority could protect themselves. Supporter of gun rights believe gun control laws go
against the Second Amendment because they restrict the right to bear arms. Charlton Heston, NRA
president, said, Instead of fighting the Redcoats we re fighting the blue blooded elitists. Instead of
fighting for independence, we are fighting for independence, we are fighting for individual
freedom (Lunger 70). We are fighting for our freedom to exercise our belief of gun rights.
Supporters of gun control want longer waiting periods and support the Brady Bill which is a law
that requires a waiting period and background checks before purchasing a handgun ( Gun Control ;
Speiser). Supporters believe that stricter gun control laws will prevent mass shootings. However, if
no one was allowed to carry a concealed weapon, then no one other than the police could put a stop
to the criminal. The criminal could continue to kill people without the risk of someone stopping

The Hunger Games Dystopian Society
A Dystopian society can be defined as an imperfect world, a place marked by class distinction,
poverty, turmoil, and dehumanization. There are two modern works that represent these ideas to
society , Divergent and The Hunger Games. Both novels portray a cataclysmic decline in society in
the way that these dystopian elements are present. The novels referenced above feature an
omnipotent authority in the form of Snow from The Hunger Games and Jeanine and Eric from
Divergent. The factions, Divergent, and capital, The Hunger Games, represent totalitarian
government, and oppression and cruelty elicited through the large wage gap cause mistrust among
its people. With this type of government, there are always the figureheads, a benevolent leader type
of public persona, which are almost always radically different from what actually happens outside

Babe Ruth And The New York Yankees Changed The Face Of...
Baseball s New Icon In 1927, Babe Ruth and the New York Yankees changed the face of baseball
by setting numerous records and being arguably one of the greatest baseball teams of all time.
Behind the outstanding play of Babe Ruth, teammate Lou Gehrig was also performing at an
amazingly high level but was shadowed by Ruth s legendary season. Lou Gehrig s play that
season started to decline though due to his concern for his mother while she was in surgery. His
heart wasn t in the game. All he could think about was his beloved momma (Bryson 778). And with
Lou Gehrig s decline that season, the spotlight was on Babe Ruthand his legendary season that
players today cannot even match. Babe Ruth was having a historic season and was seen as an icon
across the United States of America. According to Richards Vidmer, New York Times sportswriter,
Babe Ruth was bigger than the President. People around the world watched the New York Yankees
as Babe Ruth was hitting home runs left and right, game after game, and just adding up to his
historic numbers. Even against some of the greatest pitchers at the time, Ruth stole the show by
hitting at least one home run, if not more, against them. Babe Ruth s play was also inspiring his

Equality And Inequality In Society
The word equality as defined by the Oxford English Dictionary is The state of being equal,
especially in status, rights, or opportunities. , so is everyone in our country equal? In America
today, equality has not yet been achieved for all people. Some reason for this include: People of
color are not treated the same and women in today s society are not treated the same as men.
First, people of color are not treated the same in the U.S today. For example, minorities tend to
make less money. Median weekly income for black and Hispanic men and women are significantly
less than white men and women. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2017, Among the
major race and ethnicity groups, median weekly earnings for Black men working at full time
jobs were $744, or 77.1 percent of the median for White men ($965). The difference was less
among women, as Black women s median earnings ($658) were 83.2 percent of those for White
women ($791). . Income inequality is a gateway to overall inequality because in today s society
if you make less money than someone you are seen as less of a person than them. This is
because we value money so much in our society that we let it dictate who we are as people, and
that s not right not right at all. Another racial inequality present in our country is that minorities are
treated differently by cops. Minorities are more likely to be victims of nonfatal force and verbal
force by police officers. Further, the Bureau of Justice Statistics,

Murthy has also contributed in leading key corporate governance initiatives in India (Barnabas,
Joseph, Clifford, 2010). In 2005 at the World Economic Forum, he defined a business leader as
one who shoulders the biggest responsibility to seek the truth, communicate it to other stakeholders
and live by the truth (Bhattacharya, 2005). According to Spears (2004), the attributes that are key
to a servant leader are listening, empathy, healing, awareness, persuasion, conceptualization,
foresight, stewardship, commitment to growth of people and building community all of which
can be seen in Murthy s leadership. He had a holistic approach to work and shared the power of
decision making as he promoted a sense of community (Greenleaf, 1990). Another leadership style
Murthy exhibited was transformational leadership from the very beginning when he first had the
vision to create the company and sold the vision to the other six people and convinced them to
climb on board the bandwagon contributing to team proactivity (Wu Wang, 2015). In fact,
Barnabas, Joseph, and Clifford (2010) state that servant leadership is a long transformational
approach to work and life in the sense of having the potential to create positive changes in society
(Spears, 2004). Murthy also fits in the

What Is Attitude Essay
Attitude is a choice in which each of us choose to take but often, we forget we have a choice at
all. Attitude can be a powerful tool for positive action or a poison that cripples your ability to
fulfil your potential. Your attitude determines whether you are living life or life is living you. It
also determines whether you are on the way or in the way. So to speak, self confident people
may suffer setbacks, get dragged down by hard times, or make mistakes, but they still believe they
will be successful and come out being victorious. In the other way round, those who don t believe
in themselves never seem to find their way and due to this, they often seem to drift with the tides.
To everything we do in life, choice is the beginning or starting point and by changing our attitudes,
we automatically change our lives. If you wanta positive attitude, you will need to be committed

The Book Joshu A Parable For Today
To begin with, I really enjoyed the book by the name of Joshua: A Parable For Today , was a
great and interested read relating to Jesus Christ. I believe readers should take time and read this
book for many reasons and one them is that it makes you think throughout the whole book or

Comfort measures are crucial for the dying patient and their loved ones. Comfort measures, not

just as important. Palliative care is an extremely important aspect of nursing. Palliative care
focuses more broadly on improving life and providing comfort to people of all ages with serious,
chronic, and life threatening illnesses (http://www.WebMD.com). The ultimate goal of comfort

Supporters of palliative care feel that it is against two of the main ethical principles of healthcare to
not recognize the suffering of the terminally ill (End of Life Care: An Ethical Overview, 16).
These principles are beneficence and non maleficence (End of Life Care: An Ethical Overview,
16). Beneficence means that the healthcare provider is helping or attempting to help the patient
(End of Life Care: An Ethical Overview, 16). Non maleficence means that the healthcare provider
is not harming the patient (End of Life Care: An Ethical Overview, 16). Palliative care includes an
around the clock pain management schedule. Those who received early palliative care actually had
lower rates of depression and better quality of life than patients who received standard treatment

acquired(Bryman, 2016). Beliefs are mostly developed through social interaction and direct
messages that we receive from our surrounding. This belief may develops in a long period of time
or may be it takes only a minute if the message received or social interaction is so
powerful(Tillema, 1998). Beliefs may... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Positivism is based on the principle that knowledge is acquired when tested through senses and is
based on facts. As it is more scientific phenomena then it is based on the objectivity or fixity of
knowledge(Bryman, 2016). Whereas, constructivism states that knowledge is constructed through
social agents and it is in the constant state of revision. Hence it promotes variability of
knowledge(Bryman, 2016).
As Pakistani society is based on the concept of fundamentalism, which promotes the fixity of
knowledge, hence the students who are produced through this education system of Pakistan have
more or less positivist beliefs which concerned to the fixity of knowledge(Skov, 2007). So beliefs
shape behavior which can be seen in the actions of the students. To understand the beliefs of
Student teachers we just look at the ways they respond to the fixity of knowledge. So if I see the
bigger picture, the understanding of the beliefs of teachers are essential to bring change in teacher
education programs(Tillema, 1998).

Human Papilloma Virus And The Prevalence Of Cervical Cancer
Human Papilloma Virus and the Prevalence of Cervical Cancer
Introduction
Did you know there is more of a link between cervical cancer and HPV than smoking and lung
cancer? Cervical cancer is currently the fourth most common cancer in women and the second
leading cause of death from cancer in women. Along with those statistics, human papillomavirus is
the most common sexually transmitted viral disease amongst men and women worldwide. The
prevalence of women having a strain of HPV that ultimately leads to or increases the chance of
cervical cancer is highly relatable. What is pathophysiology, signs, symptoms, prevention, and
treatments of this ailment? You might ask will be covered in the next few pages of this paper.
Pathophysiology
There are several strains of the human papillomavirus the highest risk strains for cervical cancer
are HPV 16 and 18 those strains cause 70 percent of cervical cancer along with a few other high
risk strains. There are low risk strains that cause things such as common warts, which are seen
on the skin, or genital warts seen on the mucous membranes. For the purpose of this paper, we
will only be covering strains that can lead to cervical cancer. Transmission of HPV is fairly easy
which may be why it is so prominent in our society today. HPV is transmitted primarily by sexual
activity but can also occur due to prolonged exposure to things like skin to skin interaction, or wear
of clothing that has been chronically exposed to the virus. It is

For Most People, The Name Aaron Hernandez Was Synonymous
For most people, the name Aaron Hernandez was synonymous with a sports superstar. As a
college player with the University of Florida, Hernandez was an All American player and a
member of the BCS National Championship Team. He was drafted by the New England
Patriots in 2010, where he became the youngest active player on any roster in the NFL. He
seemed destined for greatness, as one of only two tight end players on one of the leading teams
in the NFL. During the 2010 season, he was named Rookie of the Week by Pepsi; he played in
the Super Bowl in his second season in the NFL; and by his third year with the NFL he received
the highest signing bonus of NFL tight end in history. However, there was a darker side to
Hernandez that had a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hernandez not only emulated his father s sports star status, but also became involved with
criminals and began using drugs. These lifestyle choices almost prevented him from attaining
success as an athlete. Despite his obvious talents, NFL teams were wary of drafting Hernandez
due to his admitted flunking of a drug test. Privately, many teams also worried about his
association with gang types from his home neighborhood. He fell to the fourth round in the 2010
NFL draft before the New England Patriots selected him with the 113th overall pick (Bio, 2015).
Professional Career Once drafted, Hernandez quickly proved his merit as a professional football
player. He had 45 catches in his rookie year, which was a team record for tight ends, helping the
Patriots secure the AFC Championship. In his second year, along with Rob Gronkowski, he led
the Patriot offense with 24 touchdowns and 2,237 receiving yards, helping secure his team s
position in Super Bowl XLVI. He was injured in his third year, but was still positioned to become
a team leader, which was recognized by the Patriots with his sizable signing bonus (A E, 2015).
Legal Problems Although he would not be indicted for murder until 2013, Hernandez s legal
problems began as early as 2007, while he was still a student at the University of Florida. It was
then that Hernandez was first prosecuted for a violent crime. An underage

Neighborhood Episode 2
Community emergency preparedness and response is dependent on the willingness of
communities to prepare in advance and to respond to instructions as events unfold (Scutchfiled
Keck, 2009, p. 564). An emergency can be anything from a pandemic of influenza to a natural
disaster that causes disruption of access to health care in a community (Scutchfiled Keck, 2009,
p. 564), such as the forest fire that has occurred in The Neighborhood TM Season 2 Episode 5
(Neighborhood, 2014). This certain forest fire impacted the entire community, particularly those
who have respiratory problems; we are going to look at how it specifically impacted the hospital,
senior center, the school, and the Bley household. The impact the health care workers and the
public health care teams had on the response of the community in this state of emergency.
Summary of Events in the Neighborhood and Response of Health Care Workers Overview of
the Neighborhood, Hospital, and Senior Center The Neighborhood is home to 64,200 people,
the majority of them being older than 60 (Neighborhood, 2014). It is located near a forest and
off the banks of a river (Neighborhood, 2014). In Season 2 Episode 5 of the Neighborhood, there
has been a forest fire for almost a week, to the west of the Neighborhood (Neighborhood, 2014).
The fire has destroyed countless acres of land and has yet to be contained (Neighborhood, 2014).

The Benefits Of Raising Minimum Driving Age
While many people think raising the minimum driving age is beneficial, research shows that the
amount of fatal crashes involving 15 to 20 year old drivers has decreased over the past 10 years.
If it is raised, it would not help anything. Teens would still drive around at night... just illegally.
Teens are busy all the time. If they cannot drive they have to rely on someone else all the time to
take them where they need to be. Also, getting a driver s license is a big step in growing up as a
teenager. The minimum drivingage has been questioned because of the amount of accidents. Data
results have shown that there are more fatal crashes involving 15 to 20 year old drivers than any
other age. But over the years, that percentage has decreased

Theme Of Masculinity In Macbeth
In the play Macbeth written by William Shakespeare, several characters become very selfish and
their behaviors end up destroying their loyalty to their own country, friends, and family. The
unity needed between a king and his colleagues is very important to ones country for not only the
present but also far in the future. Typically if the king has a son for a child than he shall be king
after the father dies, but there are several characters that believe that they should be king or that
their families should be higher up in society. The country of Scotland needs a new king who is
well rounded in the traits of love, faith, courage and strength. A noble leader is presented but does

A true man has the ideals of strength, courage, and love while in the play Shakespeare makes it
very clear that the main focuses of a man are strength, power, the force of will, and physical

Macbeth. All the character at one point or another question each others manhood or masculinity.
However it seems that Lady Macbeth is the most masculine of them all. She uses her husband
several times; aware that he will perform the actions that she wishes upon. The suspicion that
manhood is bias to violence is a strong recurring theme. Lady Macbeth even states that she

Use Of Virtual And Augmented Reality
Uses of Virtual and Augmented Reality
Today, virtual and augmented reality is no stranger to us. We see and hear about it almost every
day from friends posting videos of someone s grandparents taking a virtual rollercoaster ride, game
conventions and even from television series such as the legendary anime, Sword Art: Online
(2012). When you think about the two gaming is the most obvious thing that comes to mind.
However, many people don t know about the other uses of this booming technology. So, what are
ways that virtual and augmented reality technology can be used?
Virtual and Augmented
Let s start off with what we know about virtual and augmented reality. Virtual reality(VR) is a
computer technology that uses VR headsets that are head mounted goggles with a screen in front
of the eyes that generate realistic video and with speakers or headphones produce sounds that
simulate a user s physical presence in an imaginary, sometimes real, environment. The user using
VR equipment is able to look around the artificial world and with another device such as a game
controller the user can move about in it and interact with the world they are in.
Augmented reality (AR) is similar to virtual reality but it is a live direct or indirect view of a
physical real world environment whose elements are augmented by computer generated sensory
software. Basically a device such as your cellphone that as view of reality in real time from its
camera and with AR overlaying software is modified by

Fiber Optics
Fiber optics is a cable that is quickly replacing out dated copper wires. Fiber optics is based on a
concept known as total internal reflection. It can transmit video, sound, or data in either analog
or digital form . Compared to copper wires it can transmit thousands of times more data (slide 2)
. Some of its general uses are telecommunications, computing, and medicine. br br The very first
fiber was made in 1870 by the British physicist John Tyndal. In this experiment that he showed to
the Royal Society he placed a powerful waterproof lamp inside a tank of water, which had closed
pipes coming out the sides. When he opened up the pipes so water could flow, to the amazement of
the crowd, the light totally internally reflected inside... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If you want a short range network without monstrous bandwidth needs, you can save money and
get the multimode. On the other hand, if you want a large network with a large bandwidth, you
will need to fork out the money for the singlemode. br br Fiber optic cable is constructed with an
industry standard with respect to that the cladding on all cable, whether single or multimode,
must be 125 mm. (slide 8) This is done so the same tools can be used for both types of cables.
Fiber cables are also bunched, much like their copper counterparts are. Individual cables are
called simplex, double cables are called duplex, and four cables wrapped together are quadplex.
Wires with more than four cables are also available. Some of the possible ones are groups of
twelve, thirty six, and forty eight. br br Another important aspect of fiber optics is attenuation,
which is decrease in power from one point to another. (Slide 9) Attenuation is measured in dB
/km and a 3.0 dB/km loss corresponds to about a 50% loss in 1 km. One of the major advantages
of fiber over copper is lower attenuation. Copper wires need repeaters about every three miles, but
fiber can go without a repeater for sixty miles. br br There are two types of attenuation: intrinsic
and extrinsic. One of the two types of intrinsic attenuation is scattering, which makes up about 96%
of the intrinsic. This is caused by Rayleigh scattering in which light rays collide with atoms in the
cable and

quot;El Corazon Lowrider quot; Essay
The bright colors caught my eye and the image reminded me a little of my hometown. Where I

The painting has certain elements that make it unique; the colors of the painting are derived from
five main colors that are displayed throughout the painting, red, white, green, yellow and gray.
The colors used in this painting are both realistic and symbolic. Luis Jimenez shows a lot of pride
in his works that depict his Mexican culture. These colors come together to make a cartoon like
image where the characters and features of the painting look as though they are nonrealistic. The

The Legend Of The Magician
Merlin the Magician in an important fictional character throughout legends and history. He is
known as a powerful sorcerer and a mentor for the future King Arthur. His magical abilities include
shapeshifting, spells, and foresight.
According to legend, Merlin was born during the rule of King Vortigern, a 5th century warlord, in
Carmarthen, Wales. He was given the name Myrddin Emrys, or Ambrosius, by his mother, the
princess of Dyfed, whose father was a sub king (King s second in command). Merlin isn t just a
character from the Arthurian Legends, Writer Geoffrey of Monmouthis credited with creating
Merlin in his 1136 A.D. work, Historia Regum Britanniae The History of Kings of Britain. While
a large portion of Historia Regum Britanniae is a historical account of former kings of Britain,
Merlin was included as a fictional character (although it is likely that Geoffrey intended for
readers to believe he was a figure extracted from long lost ancient texts). (Ancient Origins, The
legendary Origins of Merlin the Magician) This places his first appearance in the early 10th
century, since then Merlin has been in several different stories other than the Legend of King Arthur.
Merlin was derived from several different people scattered through history and legend. These
include the Myrddin Wyllt, a madman, Romano, a British war leader, and trickster Ambrosius
Aurelianus, for who Merlin was named. There are three people who share the exact same story.
They were the welsh Myrddin,

Theories Of Dreams
There are various theories as to why we dream, one of them is activation synthesis hypothesis,
proposed by Alan Hobson and Robert McCarley in 1977. The idea is that the specific neuron
activity that takes place during REM sleep is synthesized into a plot in the cerebral cortex, and
dreams are the brain trying to make sense of the random neural activity that takes place during
REM sleep. The oldest theory is of Freud s psychoanalytic view, dreams are visual representations
of suppressed thoughts or unacceptable desires, ideas, aspirations, or memories. The psychoanalytic

Fishing Has Been Responsible For The Survival Of Many...
Fishing has been responsible for the survival of many families during millenniums, a tradition
passed to father to son. The familiar fishery has characteristics, such as small bolts, fishing near the
coast, seasonal and in small scales and low production of subsidies, but this changed in the passing
years. The familiar business fisherychanged to industrial, which happened because of
technological increase and market demand. In mind s 1050s/60s the fishery activity changed
because of new technologies, such as rude boats made of steel as draggers and trawler with big
capacity of the codfishery, equipped with sonar, electronic navigation systems and radar, high

without considering old experience. After strong opposition developed to the escalating offshore
catches in august 1986, the Newfoundland Inshore Fisheries Association NIFA was founded, which
were comprising for fishermen, fish processors, plant workers, business people, regional
development associations, concerned citizens other groups.
In 1989, the Canadian government revises assessment recommends and they reduce the capacity
of fishery on 50%, but the government reduced to 200,000 tons with the finality of conserved
cod stocks in 1990. That happened, because of scientific advices of DFO, that caused plants
closures and 1800 employers loss their job. They work on 45% of capacity and the minister did
not reaction about the problem. In 1992, the government decided to no more fishing for 2years
moratorium. This left 40,000 unemployed and factories, plants closures. All groups were affected
by over fishing.

Symbolism In A Pair Of Tickets
The setting and symbolism are great ways to evolve characters, reveal underlying connections, and
provide the reader with hints of meanings about the story and characters. The short story written by
Amy Tan, called A Pair of Tickets uses the setting, and symbolisms in the main characters self
discovery, reveal aspects of their lives to the readers, and relate things to a deeper meaning.
Throughout the story the main character, June May, develops immensely through the setting by
finding parts of herself she thought didn t exist, and strengthening the ties to her family while
coming to terms with the past. Developing the character through the setting starts right off the bat.
While June May lived in San Francisco, she constantly denied who ... Show more content on

Colors play into the story as more than just a repeated symbol. From the beginning to the end of
the story the colors pink, green, brown, and yellow showed up. By looking at the meaning of
colors in the Chinese culture it can been seen that these colors represent the seasons of June
Mays life and the transformation that occurred within her. For starters, in past memories of her
mother, when June May was against her culture, she would include colors of pink which in
traditional times in China did not have a significant meaning; being color blind to the fact that
lemon yellow and pale pink are not good combinations for winter clothes (264). This is
significant because of the nonsignificance of the color pink, and how her heritage was
insignificant to her at the time. Also, it s important to note the use of pink clothing during the
winter. Winter typically signifies death, and not much growth. These are the case in the aspect
of June May s ties to her heritage. Once June May begins her journey new colors appear; all he is
seeing outside of the train window is a sectioned field of yellow, green, and brown (264). Green
in China s culture means new beginnings, which is exactly what June May was experiencing on
her way to China, a new beginning into the life of the past and her family. Colors play into the
end of the story as a reflectance of the change that June May has gone through; The gray green
surface changes to the bright colors of our three images, sharpening and deepening all at once.
(276). This shows that before her transition occurred, her family pride was dull and at the start of its
path, but as it, the picture and her journey, developed, so did her ties to China, brightening,
sharpening, and

Era Of Good Feelings Essay
The Era of Good Feelings was a traditional name given to the years of James Monroe s
presidency, following the end of the War of 1812. Events such as the Louisiana Purchase, which
nearly doubled the size of American land and proved the Federalist party didn t have much as they
opposed the purchase, and fighting against the Barbary Pirates which gained the American navy
respect made people in America proud to be there and led up to the good feelings. The time was
mostly characterized by an increase of nationalistic spirits as the Republican party become the
single party in the United Statesafter Monroe won against Rufus King, his Federalist opponent in
the 1816 election. Nationalism would have a large influence on many features of American culture
and economics; however, there were also many tensions growing during this time as well. There
was much discourse over issues such as the national bank, tariffs, and internal improvements. The
Republican party was the sole party at the time, it was also dividing, with many supporting what
was once Federalist policies. Sectional differences over slaveryand states rights would also have a
major impact on politics and economics, with greater importance than the results of nationalistic
influences.
Nationalism became a part of society through many different cultural areas. Gilbert Stuart, Charles
Willson Peale, and John Trumball painted revolutionary heroes. Parson Mason Weems wrote a
fictitious biography of George Washington.

  • 2. Juxtaposition In Ideas The foil poems The Chimney Sweeper Songs of Innocence and The Chimney Sweeper Songs of Experience by William Blake show a clear juxtaposition in ideas. Songs of Innocence, shows an idyllic view of religion, with a faithful boy entrusting his future to a higher power. In contrast, the second poem, Songs of Experience, shows a cynical view of religion with no hope for a better future. As a result of these ideas, the author conveys a sense of hopelessness for the future of these children, regardless of their ideals. Through tone and imagery, William Blakeshows the hypocrisy of religion in relation to child labor during the eighteenth century. The tones in each of the respective poems show a contrasting view point of life. The naГЇve tone of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Throughout Songs of innocence the rhyme scheme AABB CCDD and continues where two lines which rhyme before continuing to the next set. This has the effect of making the poem seem surreal or unrealistic, since it gives the poem a fluid and sing song like rhythm. The rhyme underscores the main idea of the subject matter of the poem by showing that the dream which Tom Dacre has and the hope that the narrator gains as a result of this dream, are purely fantasy. As the poem continues, the rhymes in the last stanza are not the same complete rhymes as the ones that were used in the beginning part of the poem. The words dark (l. 21) and work (l.22) along warm (l.23) and harm (l.24) are only half rhymes, again revealing the hope that the boys have that their hard work will be rewarded, is only an illusion. Similarly, The Chimney Sweeper Songs of Experience, uses AABB in the first stanza. This is done to show a clear dichotomy between the two speakers at the beginning of the poem. However, as the poem progresses, the rhyme scheme changes to CACA DEDE. As a result of the alternating lines in the poem, the fanatical element which was exhibited in the first poem is not present. The alternating lines are able to the conflicting ideas of the young chimney sweeper. The chimney sweeper describes his situation, saying that he believes his parents made him begin chimney sweeping because they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Environmental History Of The Oceans And Seas Environmental history of the oceans and seas are daunting topics, either because of the vastness of the oceans and seas, the artificial boundaries, or their seemingly changelessness. Until about 1990, with Arthur McEvoy s The Fisherman s Problem: Ecology and the Law in California Fisheries, 1850 1980, historians largely ignored marine ecosystems as areas of research. Focusing instead on inland fisheries, environmental historians have still had to be exhorted... to embrace this opportunity of expanding the discourse of human impacts on marine environments. Some believe that Mr. Holt was simply another victim of the sea while others are convinced that Holt faked his own death to flee with his lover, or think that Holt was a taken by a Chinese submarine. Women in Tennessee Williams A Streetcar Named Desire and Arthur Miller s Death of a Salesman The part of Stella and Linda are both archetypal female figures in that they follow the typical fictional role of the submissive wife and mother. In A Streetcar Named Desire, Stella DuBois (renamed Mrs. Stanley Kowalski) supports and forgives her husband, defending him against any criticism. Likewise, in Death of a Salesman, Linda the only female character with any import is a meek, timid figure around her husband. This weakness is underscored by the sentence structure and diction that each character uses when in conflict with their husband. As both Tennessee Williams and Arthur Miller are men, it can be seen that their female ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is possible that many men desire this sort of unconditional support and forgiveness who ever wants to be blamed for their mistakes and behavior but it is unrealistic to show a woman who tolerates this action even to the point that they end up hurting their husband, or another character. Linda s blindness leads indirectly to Willy s suicide, and Stella s unwillingness to open her eyes to Stanley s actions ends with Blanche being taken away to a mental institution. Both of these characters also forgive their husbands in spite of their abuse, and back down during any conflict. Stella in scene 3 is hit by Stanley; during the poker scene he gives a loud whack of his hand on her thigh. All that Stella does in reproach is say, That s not fun, Stanley. During scene 8, Stanley yells at both Stella and Blanche: What do you two think you are? A pair of queens? Stella s reaction is only to cry weakly , asserting her inferior position to Stanley. • 7. The Importance Of Tradition In Shirley Jackson s The Lottery Following Tradition When one thinks of the word tradition, the thought that often comes to mind is a positive one, such as the thought of Christmas dinner at grandma s house or church on Easter Sunday. Most of these traditions we follow blindly, meaning that it is just something we do even if we do not remember why. According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary, a traditionis an inherited, established, or customary pattern of thought or action (757). Since it is inherited, we do not really have a say in receiving it or not. It is expected that we continue the tradition because that s what our ancestors have done. While following a long line of tradition can be truly great, when the reason for the tradition becomes blurred it can become harmful. In Shirley Jackson s The Lottery, blindness can be undesirable when following a tradition and can make that tradition dangerous. My family has many traditions that we practice. As I mentioned before we go to Church on Easter Sunday. Many little details make this tradition the tradition that it is. The whole family gets dressed up in their very best and as a family we go to mass and praise Jesus. After mass, we stay dressed up and meet our relatives at CafГ© 422 for a giant Italian meal. Once we all are too stuffed to take in anymore, we retreat to my aunt s house where we can finally get into comfortable clothing and hang out in the living room usually playing some type of game or watching a movie. Devon was praised for his bravery and stares of awe from the crowd around them, even D.J. asking How d you get to be so strong? in an awestruck way. When trash ends up in a landfill it builds up in to a lager pile, starts to release toxic gases, and pollutes the ground it sits on. Most of the time the trash is burned to make more room for more trash. Landfills have a big effect on the environment. Landfills make gas composition. Is there a way to use LFG to our benefit? How many landfills are being used for their gases in the United States? Some companies are working on using the toxic gases to our benefit. Even animals are being affected by the trash in landfills. What can people do to help reduce the trash in landfills? When trash ends up in a landfill it does not decompose like compost it just sits there because there is lack of oxygenand low amounts of moisture, so it does not break down very rapidly. Because the trash just sits there, it starts to release gases like sulfur dioxide, methane, ammonia, hydrogen, and nitrogen oxide. All of those are very toxic for the environment. The gases in a landfill can move thought soil and collect inside building or homes that are nearby. These gases can cause health problems for people that breathe them in or are nearby. • 14. Equality And Inequality In Society The word equality as defined by the Oxford English Dictionary is The state of being equal, especially in status, rights, or opportunities. , so is everyone in our country equal? In America today, equality has not yet been achieved for all people. Some reason for this include: People of color are not treated the same and women in today s society are not treated the same as men. First, people of color are not treated the same in the U.S today. For example, minorities tend to make less money. Median weekly income for black and Hispanic men and women are significantly less than white men and women. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2017, Among the major race and ethnicity groups, median weekly earnings for Black men working at full time jobs were $744, or 77.1 percent of the median for White men ($965). The difference was less among women, as Black women s median earnings ($658) were 83.2 percent of those for White women ($791). . Income inequality is a gateway to overall inequality because in today s society if you make less money than someone you are seen as less of a person than them. This is because we value money so much in our society that we let it dictate who we are as people, and that s not right not right at all. Another racial inequality present in our country is that minorities are treated differently by cops. Minorities are more likely to be victims of nonfatal force and verbal force by police officers. We see and hear about it almost every day from friends posting videos of someone s grandparents taking a virtual rollercoaster ride, game conventions and even from television series such as the legendary anime, Sword Art: Online (2012). When you think about the two gaming is the most obvious thing that comes to mind. However, many people don t know about the other uses of this booming technology. So, what are ways that virtual and augmented reality technology can be used? Virtual and Augmented Let s start off with what we know about virtual and augmented reality. Virtual reality(VR) is a computer technology that uses VR headsets that are head mounted goggles with a screen in front of the eyes that generate realistic video and with speakers or headphones produce sounds that simulate a user s physical presence in an imaginary, sometimes real, environment. The user using VR equipment is able to look around the artificial world and with another device such as a game controller the user can move about in it and interact with the world they are in. Augmented reality (AR) is similar to virtual reality but it is a live direct or indirect view of a physical real world environment whose elements are augmented by computer generated sensory software. Basically a device such as your cellphone that as view of reality in real time from its camera and with AR overlaying software is modified by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

If you want a short range network without monstrous bandwidth needs, you can save money and get the multimode. (slide 8) This is done so the same tools can be used for both types of cables. Fiber cables are also bunched, much like their copper counterparts are. Individual cables are called simplex, double cables are called duplex, and four cables wrapped together are quadplex. Wires with more than four cables are also available. Some of the possible ones are groups of twelve, thirty six, and forty eight. br br Another important aspect of fiber optics is attenuation, which is decrease in power from one point to another. (Slide 9) Attenuation is measured in dB /km and a 3.0 dB/km loss corresponds to about a 50% loss in 1 km. One of the major advantages of fiber over copper is lower attenuation. Copper wires need repeaters about every three miles, but fiber can go without a repeater for sixty miles. br br There are two types of attenuation: intrinsic and extrinsic. One of the two types of intrinsic attenuation is scattering, which makes up about 96% of the intrinsic. Merlin was derived from several different people scattered through history and legend.
