My Final Year Project - Individual Control Home Automation SystemMichael Olafusi
This project involves the design and construction of an individual control home
automation system using RS232, GSM technology and a microcontroller.
Home automation is the automatic or semi-automatic control and monitoring of
household appliances and residential house features like doors, gate and even the windows.
This project is a demonstration of how to design and build a multi purpose remotely
controlled system that can switch OFF and ON any electrical household appliance (including the security light), by dialling a phone already interfaced via RS232 to a microcontroller that controls a relay for the automatic switching on and off of the appliance and the phone will send a feedback short message service text indicating the new state of the appliance, whether switched ON or OFF.
The results of this project show that a microcontroller is a very powerful device for
building smart electronic devices that can automatically control electrical appliances, with little circuitry complexities and components.

The system allows a user to call in, enter a password, and then select to turn the motor on or off by pressing buttons on their phone. It uses pre-recorded voice prompts to interact with the user. The system has applications for remotely controlling equipment like motors in agricultural settings from anywhere via a mobile phone call. It aims to provide a low-cost and user-friendly solution for remote control of three-phase motors with voice confirmation of commands.

A Power Point presentation On INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION...
What is Automation?
As the name suggests ‘Automation’ means to perform automatic operations by means of different kinds of machines.
Automation is the use of control systems and information technologies to reduce the need for human work in the production of goods and services.
It is used to reduce human interference and efforts
Advantages Of PLC:-
Less Wiring.
Wiring between devices and relay contacts are done in the PLC program.
Easier and faster to make changes.
Trouble shooting aids make programming easier and reduce downtime.
Reliable components make these likely to operate for years before failure.
History of the PLC ,
Automation is a set of technologies that results in operation of machines and systems without significant human intervention and achieves performance superior to manual operation.

Mining accidents have occurred since the early days of mining
Most of these disasters involve mine rescue teams, which are specially trained to perform search and rescue operations in extremely hostile environments
Robots have a great potential to assist
Here we are designing the prototype module for Mobile robot in mine to rescue and recovery on ARM7TDMI-S Platform. Here we have two modules, Robot module and Base station module. Robot module includes the sensors, wireless camera and Zigbee transceiver which are mounted on the LPC2148 board. It will send the status of the mine through Zigbee protocol to Base station module.
Prepaid energy meter using GSM is used to record consumed units and send an alert to user via GSM. It is used to reduce power theft in commercial areas.
This document proposes a system for the automatic remote control of an induction motor using a GSM-based system. Sensors will monitor the motor's line voltage, current, and temperature and send the data to a microcontroller for analysis. If any parameters exceed safe limits, the system will send an SMS alert and sound an alarm. It will provide protection against overvoltage, overcurrent, and overload. The goal is to develop a low-cost, compact system that allows remote two-way control and monitoring of the motor without needing highly skilled personnel.
This document provides an overview of a presentation on programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems. It includes an agenda that covers introductions to PLCs and SCADA, their classifications, elements, applications, and types. It also discusses the purpose of the research project, which is to develop teaching modules on general SCADA systems and PLCs using LabVIEW and wireless computers.
The MAX232 device is a dual driver/receiver that converts between TTL/CMOS and RS-232 signal levels. It contains a charge pump that generates the voltages required by RS-232 from a single 5V supply. Each receiver converts ±30V RS-232 signals to 5V TTL/CMOS levels, and each driver converts TTL/CMOS signals to RS-232 levels. It is commonly used to interface between RS-232 ports and devices that use lower voltage digital levels like microcontrollers.

Rūpnieciskā automatizācija ar WAGO risinājumiemElektrumlv
WAGO provides automation solutions including I/O modules, controllers, and energy data management products. The document discusses WAGO's spring connection technology history and its applications in building installation, industrial electronics, and automation. It also describes WAGO I/O modules for digital/analog inputs and outputs, special modules, and system combinations. Examples show using I/O modules to collect sensor signals and the controller converting them for control or sending to SCADA. The energy data management section explains measuring energy consumption with one system using I/O modules, configuring data acquisition and display, and an example connection of power measurement modules.
wiDom Smart Roller Shutter Z-Wave Plus Module ManualDomotica daVinci
The document provides instructions for installing and operating the WiDom Smart Roller Shutter, a Z-Wave enabled device for controlling roller shutters, blinds, and curtains. It can accurately control opening and closing positions through local or remote commands. After an initial calibration, it identifies the position without sensors. Safety information warns that installation requires qualified electricians and live voltages are present. Installation instructions explain connecting it according to the diagrams and including it in a Z-Wave network. The LED status indicator shows inclusion status and communication events.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
Assessment and Planning in Educational technology.pptxKavitha Krishnan
In an education system, it is understood that assessment is only for the students, but on the other hand, the Assessment of teachers is also an important aspect of the education system that ensures teachers are providing high-quality instruction to students. The assessment process can be used to provide feedback and support for professional development, to inform decisions about teacher retention or promotion, or to evaluate teacher effectiveness for accountability purposes.
