GSM Based Device Controlling and Fault Detection
The mobile communication has expanded to a great extent such that it can be applied for controlling of electrical devices. These projects make use of this capability of mobile phone to control three electrical devices with some use of embedded technology which can be extended up to eight devices. Apart from controlling it also does the sensing of the devices. Thus a user can be able to know of the status of the devices and in addition to that the user get notified if any fault is detected. Here in the project controlling and sensing is done for three electrical devices only. According to the user need both of this can be expanded.
TRAFFIC LIGHT CONTROL USING RF TECH

The project lasted from April 26 to May 30, 2006. The goal was to test the interconnection of transmission equipment from different manufacturers to standardize configuration of Ethernet private line services. As team leader, the author coordinated between teams and manufacturers. They set up test environments and conducted tests on concatenation, LCAS, and data encapsulation to solve incompatibility issues. After confirming successful interconnection, the author summarized configuration standards in a project report.

The project was created by Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) Thailand. The purpose was to build a monitoring system for medium voltage distribution transformers. These transformers have been installed on roadside electric poles around Bangkok. Transformers' data is significant to load management and research about transformers. An advanced distribution transformer load monitoring system is capable of measuring voltage, current and power. It separates transformers into small groups and communicates within the group using and radio frequency module operating at unlicensed 433 MHz band. All collected data are sent to a master unit using a GSM modem saved to a database server.
