Golden Era will be a music magazine focused on rock, rap, punk, indie, R&B genres. It will have a title of GE (Golden Era) to reference the golden era of music. The magazine will target young adult and older audiences and compete with magazines like XXL and Q Magazine. It will include photos, articles, album reviews, song lyrics and profiles of independent artists aiming for stardom. The magazine will be 48 pages long in A4 size, with a green, white, black and gold color scheme on the cover to represent the name. It will be created using Photoshop and come out weekly at a cost of £1.50.

Golden Era will be making a music magazine based on rock music, rap and a mixture of main
genres such as: Punk, Indie, Rap and R ‘N’ B
Working Title:
My title of my magazine is going to be called GE (Golden Era ), which connotes that it is a
magazine, which documents the golden era of music.
Genre:
The sub-genre for my music magazine is a mixture of hip-hop & rock & I will be aiming for an
audience who are mainly young adults and older. My magazine will be able to compete with
other hip-hop magazine such as XXL and Q Magazine.

The name of sub-genre entitled ‘Golden Era’ magazine will be full of pictures, articles, album
reviews and song lyrics, which will contain ‘star appeal’ to the audience (Richard Dyer) as it
attracts the reader. The publication will also feature artists that are generally independent and
aim to be the top stars in the industry.
Style or Approach:
The denotation of the colour scheme for the magazine front cover will consist of green, white,
black, and gold. The colour gold was chosen for Golden Era because it works well with my other
house style colours, which are gold, white & black. Also, it’s a colour that represents the name
of the magazine. I am going to use Photoshop to construct the magazine pages (Front Cover
and Double Page Spread) because it is a useful program, which I can use to edit & design my
magazine. Some of the tools in Photoshop that will be good for use in making my front cover
will be the text tool, & the cropping tool as well as the grid.
Audience:
The audience is going to be primarily male but could include some females. They will mainly be
around 18-65 in general although some might be older and a few maybe be younger. There will
be people of any ethnicity reading my magazine. Music is what they always listen to so this
would be good for them.
Length:
There will be a lot of content as the pages are about 48 sheets long so it would contain a lot of
useful news and recent updates on the changing of the music industry. He size of the magazine
will be A4 so I can fit as much content as possible
Frequency:
Weekly as it includes less content for the fans of my music magazine.
