Magazine powerpoint
1.
2. . Rock On! will be a Rock based magazine specifically focused
around North London. The Magazine will be released both an
Online version and Print Copy issuing new releases every
month.
. Providing entertainment and Content for the ages of 16-30.
The magazine aims to provide Maximum entertainment and
satisfaction from the genre of Rock and all the music that comes
with it from within North London.
3. The Aim
. To become one of the most successful Rock Magazines
based in North London. To inform readers about
upcoming Rock Artists and music.
To achieve this, our magazine will have to be marketed
at the target audience well. I can do this by conducting
research on the age demographic of the magazine
readers to help understand what will appeal to the
majority. As well as this using my moodboard for help
with the genre and the themes within it.
4. Moodboard
. A Moodboard of a wide variety of
elements that go into the Rock
Genre which have helped me to
understand the font layout and
genre I am doing for my magazine.
The use of high vibrancy colours
here also helped me choose my
colour scheme such as red white
and black which I have chosen to
also use for my magazine.
5. Target Audience
. Rock On! will be aimed at the ages of 16-30 as Rock music Is mainly
viewed and listened to by these ages. The magazine will aim to appeal to
anyone in North London's Demographic.
. My Secondary target audience will be older men aged between 30-50 as
there is a smaller mass of people in North London who also watch and
listen to Rock music.
. The Social Class rating of the magazine Target audience will also be C1 as
most people who are able to afford magazines read Rock magazines at the
given group.
6. Fonts, Texts, Typefaces and Titles
Arial
The first font being used will be for my main headline title. This font is
called HolyFont and is a good representation of a rock genre due to
its roughness and unique scratchiness. Using this font will allow me
to connote to the genre of Rock.
The font being presented here is the Nickston one font. This font
stands very well out and will be used for straplines and cover lines to
attract my audience/reader to the magazine.
The font Arial is going to be used for my DP spread interview as it is a
neat font and easy to read.
7. The Genre
The genre I have chosen for my
magazine is Rock Music. I have
chosen this genre as it is a well
established genre used in North
London in areas such as Camden.
Areas like this hold music venues
such as COCO which are based
around Rock Music.
8. The Price
. The Price of the magazine will be roughly £3.00 As due to the
demographic most people will be able to afford this magazine. We
want to have a non subscription based magazine that you can
just buy when you wish to do so. The online copy of the magazine will
only be accessible by purchasing the Hard copy of the magazine first.
9. Color Scheme
• The colour scheme for my magazine will be a
use of 4 main colours for my magazine front
cover and DP spread of red, white, grey and
black. These 4 main colours help to create a
slick edgy and serious background for the
magazine. This helps present the genre of
Rock through my magazine as it creates a
fitting scene for my magazine to be around
colour wise.
10. Content And Form
. The content based inside the magazine will be focused about Rock artists
and bands and who is most popular at the moment. There will be mainly
one specific artist from Rock as the main image on the front cover and my
. Double page spread will be an Interview/Q&A with the artist. The DP
spread will be laid out in columns to make it more formal. The magazine
will be aimed to be Not extremely formal but formal enough to ensure
some attention to detail.
. My content will also be focused on Rock Music as a whole genre as it
attracts people of all ages towards rock music as well as introduces new
musicians and can help to make sponsorships with them.
11. Competitors
Kerrang! Is a Rock
magazine who
focuses on older
Rock, as we can see
in both of these
magazines Green
Day is the main
cover line.
NME is a hard rock
using vibrant colours
such as blue white
and red
Clash Is a classical Rock
meaning the music is much
more soft and relaxed
hence the soft vibrancy
from yellow to black
and white.
13. Marketing
. What I could do to market for a Rock music magazine is go to rock venues in Camden
and give out copies of the rock magazine after events have taken place in the venues.
. USP Is giving away tickets to the biggest concerts for rock every month. This engages
readers to want to buy the magazine to win tickets.
. The pricing of my magazine will be low and affordable as it becomes more attractive to
younger audiences which is my primary target who don't have a lot of money due to
their age. Thus making it cheap and affordable. To do this, We need sponsoring
from investors be able to afford to make and sell copies of the magazine to the public. I
will also give away leaflets for my magazine by rock venues in Camden to attract a
primary and secondary audience.
14. Distribution
• For my distribution of my magazine, I plan on going
into Camden market which is a very Rock based area
and renting a stall in the centre of the market and selling
copies of my magazine.
• I also plan on using social media to attract people to talk
about the latest edition of the magazine and make people
want to read my magazines. Doing this will allow people to
buy the magazine and be given an exclusive online copy of
the magazine upon purchase of the magazine Hard print.
•
I may also do a subscription of the magazine as they would
be buying the magazine in bulk so roughly 3 pound is one
month worth so 36 pounds for a year which even if
they don't like they would already have bought. Also if they
did this we can offer them the free online edition monthly.
