5. DESIGN / SKETCH:
• In the garments manufacturing,the first step is designing
the sketch for the dress that have to be prepared.
• For this purpose the designer first draw several rough
sketches in the book.
• Later these sketches are analyzed by a panel of designers, they
finally select few of them.

6. PATTERN DESIGN:
• Every piece of garment is built upon a pattern.
• The pattern maker now develop first pattern for
the design in any one standard size.

7. SAMPLE MAKING:
• Patterns are sent to sewing unit for assembling them
into garments.
• When the garment is stitched , it is reviewed by a panel of
designers, pattern maker and sewing specialists.
• If any changes have to be made they are made at this time.

8. PRODUCTION PATTERN:
• The pattern design is now taken for creating the production patterns.
• The production pattern is one which will be used for huge production
of garments.

9. GRADING:
• The purpose of grading is to create patterns in
different standard size.
• Pattern size can be small, medium or large.

10. MARKER MAKING:
• Marker making is the process to sketch on fabrics
before cutting it.
• Markers are laid in such a way so that minimum
possible fabric gets wasted during cutting operation.

11. SPREADING:
• Spreading is the process of spread the fabric on table
in several layers for cutting purpose.
• It can be done with the help of spreading machines .

12. CUTTING:
• After successfully spread the fabric and putting
all the marks and sketch by the marker,this is time
to cut the fabric according to design.

14. SORTING / BUNDLING:
• The sorter sorts the patterns according to size and design and makes
bundles of them.
• This step requires much precision because making bundles of
mismatched patterns can create sever problems.

15. SEWING AND ASSEMBLING:
• The sorted bundles of fabrics are now ready
to be stitched.
• Each of a part of clothing should be sewed
perfectly.

16. INSPECTION:
• In this step, each of the complete garment is to
be checked, if any faults is found then the whole
process should be repeated.
• Types of faults:
• Non-matching threads
• Missing stitch
• Raw edges

17. PRESSING / FINISHING:
• The next process are those of finishing and/or
decorating.
• Molding may be done to change the finished
surface of the garment by applying pressure,heat,
moisture or certain other combination.
• Pressing, pleating and creasing are the basic
molding processes.

18. PACKING:
• After making a bale of these garment clothing
packing is done.
