4. Accessing Gale in Context: Biography
• To access Gale, head over to your library's online resource page.
• Click on the link to Gale in Context: Biography.
• You will be redirected to the Gale site and asked to key in your password.
• Your library card number is your password.
• Enter the card number and click Sign In.
You will need a library
card in good standing
to access Gale.

6. How to Search in Gale
If you know your topic, begin your search at the top of the page by entering the subject name in the
search bar and hitting enter/return.
If you want to narrow the search results, you can click on Advanced Search. This will take you to a
new page where you can add additional search parameters, including limiting the results to full-text
only articles, specific document types, and year of publication.

Here is an example of a search
for biographical information on
Vice President-Elect Kamala
Harris by typing the name into
the main search bar and hitting
enter/return.
You are now on the biographical main page for this search topic. At the top of
the page, you will see an OVERVIEW and some QUICK FACTS. Scroll further
down and you will find additional Gale content such as BIOGRAPHIES,
MAGAZINE and NEWS articles, IMAGES, VIDEOS, AUDIO, and RELATED TOPICS.

8. Browse the Collection Further
Not sure of your research topic? Simply browse the collection of over 5,000 biographies.
The home page features a brief list of featured PEOPLE OF INTEREST.

9. Below that, you will see several topic categories (with examples) you can also click on to explore.

10. You can also choose to BROWSE ALL 5,000+ PEOPLE, which
will give you an alphabetical list of biographies from Atlanta-
based rapper 2 Chainz to Facebook cofounder and executive
Mark Zuckerberg.

11. You've Found Something!
Click on any of the listed results to access the information.
When you do find materials you would like to use for your research, you can translate, listen,
cite, email, download, and print them all with the click of a button!
