Decentralized Bitcoin Research Paper
How to Get a Decentralized Bitcoin Domain Name
If you re into digital currencies or a variety of different types of decentralized technologies, and if
you also manage and run your own website or are thinking of having one designed, then it is
absolutely necessary for you to register for a decentralized web address.
Decentralized website address is something that integrates and incorporates the use of DNS services
that are decentralized or unregulated. A DNS or Domain Name Systemis something that efficiently
links human readable site addresses for example, www.ilovebitcoin.io with the Internet Protocol or
a machine readable location of a DNS server hosting that particular site.
Generally speaking, a majority of Domain Name Systems ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The money you spend to pay for your DNS will further help support several other developments in
promoting decentralized online environments for bitcoin users and other decentralized services.
The Right Way of Registering for an Unregulated Bitcoin Domain Name
To first get an unregulated domain name for your site, it is important to first get a dedicated IP.
If you ve subscribed for dedicated hosting services, then you must already have one. However, if
you are using a more cost effective hosting package, you will have to buy one from the company.
It is that costly, buying dedicated IPs cost somewhere from $20 to $30. And a lot of hosting
companies provide plenty of services to cater to your specific needs.
All you will need to do (on a majority of hosting providers) is to submit your .bit website, adding it
as an additional domain name, and then just start using it for your website.
Registering your Unregulated DotBit Domain Name
One of the most widely used Domain Name Systems available for altcoins and bitcoins is
Namecoin s streamlined and easy to use .bit services. Their services are optimally decentralized
and are protected from various censorship clauses. Plus, the services are quite budget friendly. So,
after your register for Namecoin s .bit services, the first step is to download their software. This is
going to take a bit of time because your wallet will also be download the Namecoin Blockchain,

Taylor Swift Figurative Language
Almost everything in life can be viewed by different perspectives and almost everything is
interpreted
in a multitude of ways. This also applies to love and relationships. Love is so expansive and
intricate that it takes a whole life time to try to explain and feel it. When trying to explain love
some expressed love to be beautiful, miraculous and joyous. However, others portrayed the dark
side of love; the hurt, the harsh reality, and broken hearts. Taylor Swift represented that same
unhappiness that is associated with love in her music. In her song Forever and Always Taylor
Swift exemplified her pain through the lyrics. In the sixth stanza of her song Taylor sang, Oh, I

slight bitter sweet tone through the song and it is exemplified through the lyrics. It is almost as if
he resents himself for still being in love with this girl even after the pain of rejection she has put
him through. Turner s feelings never change towards this girl. He is still in love with her no
matter what.
The Arctic Monkeys song, Do I Wanna Know? uses figurative language terms such as
metaphors, repetition, and personification to express the natural responses to fear of rejection and
the desperation held onto when one wants still to hold onto a love that may or may not be there.
Turner knew one thing for sure; that he was madly in love with this one girl and that he was
willing to go after her by whatever means necessary. Yet again Turner still had some hesitation.
This proved that point that there is always an uncertainty in love because no one is guaranteed
that the person they love feels the same way. It is a natural instinct to want to feel accepted and it
is heartbreaking to find out that the person he loved, did not even accept him. Alex turned to

Nt1330 Unit 5 Exercise 1 Algorithm
In this section, we discuss the implementation of XXX and evaluate the performance of our
proposed algorithm with synthetic inputs in terms of 1) SFC request acceptance ratio, 2) backup
resource consumed by requests and 3) running time. For comparison, we implement a baseline
method, where for an SFC request which requires n VNF and has the availability requirement of
_, we keep increasing the number of backup for each VNF on all selected physical machines until
each VNF can have an availability of n p _. The statistics shown in this section are the average

Since telecom networks must be always on, it is critical to guarantee network service availability
with the minimum amount of resources. In this paper, we presented XXX, our approach to
provisioning availability in NFV. XXX provides a suite for service providers to concisely describe a
data center topology and estimate the downtime distribution of a mapped SFC request. To reduce
the running time of XXX, we further proposed an optimization framework which estimates the
minimum amount of backup resources required to meet heterogeneous availability requirements
and showed an heuristic solution with a theoretical bound. Through evaluation with data from
production data centers, we demonstrated the effectiveness and efficiency of our solutions. For the
future work, we are expanding our optimization framework to enable expedited estimations of the
backup resource needed under other models of VNF. On the other hand, the downtime estimation
accuracy is heavily dependent on the accuracy of the failure and repair distribution of each layer,
including both hardware and software. Therefore it is important to analyze system log data, extract
and model them using appropriate general

I Attended A Narcotics Anonymous ( Na ) Meeting
Meeting Description For the self help meeting in regards for my reaction paper, I attended a
Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meeting. NA is a nonprofit, community based, 12 step recovery
organization for recovering drug addicts (Bowens, 2011, p. 1). The meeting I attended took
place outside on a Saturday afternoon at Magnolia Park in Garden Grove, California. It is an
open group tag meeting, where one speaker will tag another person to share and welcome for
anyone to attend. It was very easy to locate the meeting, as it was right in front of the park s only
parking lot with members sitting in a circle on benches and lawn chairs. The meeting started at
12:00pm and ended around 1:30pm. The group facilitator was a Caucasian man in his forties
named Bob. Bob had been in and out of recovery for nearly 16 years, but recently relapsed in
August of 2015. He has experienced four overdoses since then, and is on his way to working the
12 steps again. Bob has been sober for about six weeks now. In the group meeting, there were 20
members (four female, 16 male) in this meeting, composed of 75% Caucasian, 20% Hispanic
/Latino, 5% African American, and 5% Asian (just me). Majority of the group members appeared
to be in the middle class, hypothesized from listening to their stories of owning cars, homes,
apartments, taking care of children, and having employment. Many of them appeared to be in their
late thirties to late forties. There were a few children (children of group members) and one

Reasons For The Cuban Missile Crisis
During 1962, the United States and the Soviet Union were in conflict due to the Soviet Union
placing missiles in Cuba, known today as the Cuban missile crisis. In attempt to avoid nuclear
conflict and force the removal of the missiles, Kennedy was faced with three options; to bomb the
missile sites and/or conduct both sea and airborne landings, or blockade the island and reassure
the removal of the missiles. Kennedy decided to blockade Cuba as it was the only option that
would result in the removal of the missiles without it escalating to war. The Cuban missile crisiswas
the closest the Cold Warwas to developing into war. This thirteen day long confrontation between

Kennedy had three options: To bomb the missile sites, to bomb the sites and conduct both sea
and airborne landings, or to blockade Cuba and to confirm the transfer of the missiles from the
island. At first, Kennedy was enraged and wanted to attack the missile sites, but the issue was
whether to let Khrushchev and Castro know his plan. If he had let them know, the Soviet Union
could have responded earlier by striking against Berlin or their bases in Turkey. However, if it
would be a surprise attack many people would be killed, equalling to further conflict. Kennedy
reasoned it would not be a good idea due to the fact it was impulsive and the consequences would
be drastic. The Joints Chiefs of Staff added that a surprise air strike would lead to an
invasion.Although the air strike proposal was done for, the Joints Chief of Staff argued against
the blockade debating that it would be inefficient and useless. Not only did they mention that the
blockade would not remove the missiles for the simple fact that they were already there, but they
also pointed out that doing so would cause the Soviet Union to do it also. Forcing the removal of
the missiles would mean the United States would have to remove their missiles surrounding the
Soviet Union too, or so they thought. Although a blockade had its cons, it was the safer way to go
and would cause less extreme consequences according to Secretary McNamara and Robert F.
Kennedy. These three proposals all had their cons; Some more than others, but Kennedy managed to

Bilingualism In Canada
This article is about the official bilingualism policy in Canada, including the history of development
background, different influences on politics, economy and life. The aim of bilingualism policy is to
realize the equality between French and English and has a bilingual federal government. After the
implementation of bilingualism, the federal government has been most successful in extending
public services in both languages, which is an important influence. In addition, federal government
begun to subsidize the second language education in public schools and developed many public
services. The official bilingual policy is successful in Canadato a large extend, and more bilingual

The Well Paid Receptionist Case Analysis
The Well Paid Receptionist Case Analysis
Harvey hired the very qualified Cathy Brannen seven years ago for an annual salary of $14,000
and the incentive of sales override of 2% of the total sales. Today, Harvey just realized that his
secretary has been living very comfortable with $127,614.21 this year. Harvey cannot believe the
situation and wants to address her salary, which he feels is inappropriate, but has not considered his
contributions, or lack of contributions, that has led to this outcome (Cohen Fink, 2001). A Bloated
Salary and an Oblivious Leader
Cathy has been making a significant amount for some time, refer to Table 1. There have been
significant raises each year and should have been caught by Harvey or the comptroller long
before her 7 year anniversary. Why was there a lack of due diligence that allowed this to not be
noticed more promptly? Why were no complaints brought forward by other employees? Is this an
isolated case or other employees making significant salaries as well?
Cathy is making significantly more than Harvey s best salespersons and managers, almost as much
as Harvey and extremely higher than any receptionist s salary (Cohen Fink, 2001). The problem
does not lie with just overlooked financial, payroll documents but Harvey s lack of participation in
the financials of his business. When Harvey hired Cathy, he could not offer her requested salary,
and even made an offer that was 12% lower than her previous salary, but Harvey needed the

Designing A New Methodology For C Bond Formation
The biaryl scaffold has received increased attention as a privileged structure by the
Pharmaceutical industry.16 Over the last two decades, methods for preparing biaryls have
relied predominantly on cross coupling. The power of this method was recognized and won a
Nobel Prize in Chemistry in the 2010, one of the biaryl compounds biphenyl is shown in (Figure
8). Figure 8. Structure of Biaryl1.5 Tellurium Chemistry Tellurium is a metalloid belonging to
group VI in the periodic table. It has many applications in organic synthesis, alloys in machining
process, and improves fabrication properties. Organotellurium compounds have much wide
range of applications in metallurgy, agrochemical industry and material science.17 1.6 Research
Objective The main aim of our research is to develop a new methodology for C C bond
formation by using diaryl, divinyl and dialkyl tellurides as starting materials. We are going to
explore if these tellurium containing compounds will undergo detelluration (removal of tellurium)
reaction under palladium catalyst to give the biaryl, bivinyl or other C C bond forming products.
2. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION 2.1 Synthesis of diaryl tellurides The symmetrical diaryl
telluride was prepared using aryl iodide and elemental tellurium as the starting material with the aid
of KOH as a base in the solvent of dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO). The

Arguments Against The Exclusionary Rule
In the United States, there have been rules established to protect its citizens. One such rule, the
exclusionary rule was put in place to do just that. A legal rule, which is derived from constitutional
law, this rule protects citizens by preventing evidence to be presented at trial that was obtained
while violating the defendants Fourth Amendment rights. The Fourth Amendment protects citizens
against illegal search and seizure, therefore any evidence that is collected by law enforcement
illegal will not be admissible in court the court of law. The exclusionary ruleis frequently used in the
American courts to suppress evidence collected by law enforcement. One such case in 1913, was
Weeks vs The United States. In this case, law enforcement used a key to enter Weeks home after
suspected him using the postal system to transport lottery tickets. Policecollected all the needed
documents to have Weeks indicted and found guilty. Filing an appeal, Weeks argued that all articles
collected and used as evidence against him should have been suppressed, due to the fact it was
collected in violation of his 4th amendment. Having reached the Supreme Court, it was ruled
unanimously that the evidence had been collected without... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

First, those who support the rule, argue that having such rule deters members of law enforcement
from illegal search and seizures of citizens. Police know that if evidence is found to have been
collected illegally, and in violation of the defendants 4th amendment right, that evidence will be
admissible in court. This could possibly result in the defendant walking free. Secondly, another
supporting argument is that the exclusionary rule upholds the Fourth Amendment. This rule
protects citizens constitutional right to be protected from illegal search and seizure, and causes law
enforcement to operate within the boundaries of the law when making an

The World s Economic Superpower Essay
War has a way of bringing economies out of trouble. World War II for example, brought the
United States out of the great depression and cemented them as the world s greatest economy.
War, however, has no place on the horizon for China if they want to become the world s economic
superpower. China relies too heavily on foreign influence and investment to take a risk on
nationalistic or militaristic gains. While there are some pro conflict forces who have power within
China, these desires will go unrealized as long as supreme leader Xi Jinping is in power. He
understands the interests of China as how important it is for them to maintain positive international
relationships, especially with technically advanced nations such as Russia and the United States.
The vast extent of international trade through globalization, the large quantity of foreign
investment, and the need for peaceful growth all motivate Xi Jinping to overpower the war prone
forces among ruling groups in China and keep the country on a path towards prosperity, not war. As
one of the great producing nations on this planet, China needs to maintain open and free trading
throughout the world. This open trading and globalization has greatly benefited China as jobs are
created and wealth and power sees unprecedented growth in the country (Wang 234). Beyond
increasing prosperity, China s trade network has given the CCP the opportunity to borrow the
institutions and emulate the practices of the industrialized

Courtney Love Research Paper
Courtney Michelle Love (previously Courtney Michelle Harrison) is an American rock
musician and actress who was born on July 9th, 1964 in California. Growing up, she felt
neglected by those around her. After her parents got divorced, Courtney seemed out of control,
as she didn t know how to cope with it. She was then raised by her mom for a few years, but
Courtney was so intolerable that she was abandoned by her. She jumped from foster home to
foster home and found herself all alone. She got into trouble plenty of times with money, legal
issues, careers, and substance abuse, yet she persevered. Courtney Love is an inspiration to me
because she strived to get what she wanted, formed a band that is one of the main reasons I play
the guitar, and successfully cleaned up from substance abuse after a long battle with it. Courtney

Two Emotional Proofs
1.)Logical proof is a type of factual reasoning based upon real facts. These results can be found
from scenarios that have happened in the past. The seven logical proofs are sign, induction, cause,
deduction, analogies, definition, statistics. Proofs that build ethos are when the authors use credible
sources to state facts that can prove their opinion to the audience. Emotional proofs are claims or

was deliberate, as their first priority was to get away from these men alive, and the best way to
keep someone from going into shock was to not give them time to allow the adrenaline to cease

Ones perception on a book may or may not be changed once they see the movie produced that is
based off of a book. While reading One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest by Ken Kesey I was able to
visualize how I believed the characters would be in real life. Unlike the book, the movie is
presented the way in which the producer views the characters taking away ones sense of
imagination. A major difference between the book and the film is the point of view in which the
story was told. The book is told in Chief s point of view and the movie is not. I noticed during the

The scene in the book where the lifeguard at the pool who once was admitted to the ward tells

Bromden are sent to the disturbed ward after getting into an altercation with the nurses when
McMurphy tried to stop them from forcing medication onto George in the shower who is
known to be extremely cautious of germs. Unlike the book the movie shows this scene as
McMurphy getting into a fight with the nurses after breaking the nurse s station window to get
Cheswick s cigarettes in order to calm him down. After Chief helps him, all three of them are
sent to the disturbed ward. Due to all of the changes in the movie compared to the book it was
hard to follow the movie at times. When certain scenes happened in the movie that didn t in the
book it confused me and when they brought in new characters or changed the way the characters
were portrayed made it difficult to relate the movie back to the book. I don t believe the film
changed my perception of McMurphy s Heroism because both in the book and film he played the
significant role of standing up to Nurse Ratched even though she was known to belittle all of the
patients. McMurphy continued to try and help the patients escape the ward before he thought about
himself leaving and that showed the type of character McMurphy was.

conducted the convenience sample over a duration of about two weeks then an analysis of the
data was conducted. The data showed that 31 participants had opened the survey however, a total
of 5 participant s surveys were removed due to incomplete data (3 due to dropout, 2 due to miss

were also many questions that indicated a strong inter item correlation in having a significant
positive correlation to each other ranging from .300 to 1.00. This shows an amount of reliability
between items. This shows that the test sample did have a level of content validity, which means
that the items on the test represent the entire range of possible items that the test should cover.
The researcher found that his Cronbach s Alpha was .749, which, is reasonably high and high
enough to be considered valid (above .700). This means that the CHS had enough validity in its
analysis to measure a person s overall level of happiness compared to other participants. Based on
the demographic information that was collected, there were many more women then men who took
the survey. The demographic information also concluded that there was many more Caucasian that
took the survey compared to other ethnicities. Both of these problems could have reduced the
amount of validity of the researcher s analysis. The researcher however, did not separate
respondents statistics based on demographic because it was not deemed essential in measuring a
person s overall level happiness. Discussion The researcher believes that the participants who

Bhagavad Gita Religion
The Bhagavad Gita focuses primarily on a conversation held between a god called Krishna and his
mortal cousin, Arjuna. This conversation happens right before a battle between Arjuna and his
brothers, the Pandavas, and their cousins, the Kurus, over who should be in charge of the kingdom.
Arjuna doesn t want to kill his family and seeks guidance from Krishnaon what is to be done. The
two have a lengthy conversation regarding the many paths to understanding, the primary goal for
this period s religious tradition. Krishna is careful not to place one of the three paths or yogas
(literally joining together, the way or the path to the ultimate reality) ahead of the others. For Arjuna
, however, karmayoga (discipline of action) is more readily applicable... Show more content on

The jГ±anayoga focuses on knowing one s dharma and for understanding the more philosophical
aspects of this particular Indian tradition. It draws on the Upanishadic tradition of philosophy and
generally thought of as the more intellectual yoga leading to the correct understanding of Atman
and Brahman as both separate but really one and the same. For Arjuna to follow the jГ±anayoga
successfully, he would need to understand the philosophical nuances of the path. In particular, he
would need to understand how to act in such a way that was intent on action, not on the fruits of
action (II.47). Krishna says this to Arjuna in response to Arjuna s claim that he will not fight (II.9)
despite his warrior caste status and his role in the conflict as one of the five Pandava brothers. This
seemingly paradoxical advice highlights the differences between focusing on the outcomes of a
particular event (fruits of action) and focusing on simply completing an action. It is a process of
losing attachments and, consequently, is essential to understanding Atman and Brahman. Letting
go of Arjuna s attachment to the outcomes or the fruits of his action would free Arjuna from his
discontentment and allow him to fulfil his

The Spherical Image as the Central Paradox in Valediction: for Weeping
In John Donne s A Valediction: for Weeping, the speaker consoles his lover before leaving on a sea
voyage and begs her not to cry. Crying, the speaker tells his lover this poem at the docks before he
boards his ship going abroad. Donne uses a spherical image as the central metaphor in his poem.
When Donne uses irony, paradox, and hyperbole including the use of round images such as: coins,
globes, and tears he strengthens the spherical conceit. By comparing two seeming opposites like
tears and love as his conceit, Donne uses the spherical image as the central paradox in A
Valediction: Of Weeping.

The fruit and the emblem are round images describing their tears, the emblem symbolizes both
the literal round image and the lover s face (the tear bears her emblem or face). As the tear
bearing her image falls, the speaker fears the ending of their love if she cries, as the speaker
states: So thou and I are nothing then, when on a diverse shore (9). In the second stanza, the
speaker tries to convince her that they are still together, even when they are separated, and begs her
not to weep.
The second stanza opens with a ball image forming out of nothing into a globe. A worker can
take a round ball . . .and quickly make that, which was nothing, all (12). The globe and their love

The Requirements For Home Area Network Security
Abstract:
The main objective of this document is to create and analyze the requirement for home area
network security. Security set up balance is always required against the risk being moderated. As
HAN is related to the households there is a little interest paid to the home area network security.
Earlier the threats for the HAN were other malicious programs and viruses. Now in this modern
world with the invention of wireless networking, broadband and convergence of various
communication technologies which has been implemented by HANs, these vulnerabilities have
increased more. Public has a very less knowledge on theft of personal information, hacking of
credit cards and they are not going to affect them a lot. Thus this document illustrates the present
and future technology of home area network security and how is it going to affect and also some of
the security measures for home area network.
1.Introduction:
In this modern era, everyone has a computer and has an internet connection. The benefits that go
with networking and the interconnection of computers have made a lot of impact into an average
household. Home area network is referred as the downward pricing trend of the personal
computers and the networking hardware. The latest versions of the different operating systems

Synopsis Of Storytelling Games

Thesis: Storytelling in games gives the gamers the opportunity to be involved in the game,
experience the characters, stimulate feelings like fear and excitement and let the player know they
make situations happen and the choices they make affect the outcome as well as motivate them to
continue on.
Background:
After reading parts of The Storytelling Animal, it was clear that storytelling is in everything. As
an avid videogame player it was evident that many of the games that people play, like Battlefield,
have a storyline. After reading articles from the Proquest database like From Computer Games to
Interactive stories, a plan was developing about games and stories. Other thoughts on the thesis
were whether video games have stories and traits of their own and should these games have a
storyline, especially since it is a game. After researching and a discussion about this topic with the
professor, it was decided to do the first thesis idea. The topic is extensive in gaming articles and
magazines. Gamers on both sides have an opinion. It seemed that most of the articles read dealt
with stories and games rather than just gameplay. An article by Jan Simons in Game Studies
discusses the narrative theory extensively as well as the ludology and narratology side.
Theoretical Issues:
When studying video games one needs to know how human behavior works. Most theories
regarding video games deal with the violent actions

Essay about Politics and Money
The late Alabama governor George Wallace once said, There s not a dime s worth of difference
between Republicans and Democrats. Both Republicans and Democrats agree on taking our
money. Where they differ is what to spend it on. A Democrat agrees to take our earnings and give
them to cities and poor people. A Republican agrees to take our earningsand give them to farmers
and failing businesses.
Republicans have dominated both houses of Congress since 1994, a year when federal spending
was $1.5 trillion. Less than a decade later federal spending in 2002 was over $2.1 trillion, a 37
percent increase. Some politicians might argue that the war on terrorism has been responsible for

In 1854, President Franklin Pierce vetoed a bill intended to help the mentally ill championed by the
renowned 19th century social reformer Dorothea Dix. In the face of scathing criticism, President
Pierce said, I cannot find any authority in the Constitution for public charity. To approve such

President Grover Cleveland was the king of the veto. He vetoed literally hundreds of congressional

can find no warrant for such an appropriation in the Constitution.
Many Americans erroneously believe that the Constitution s general welfare clause serves as

Oates has performed rigorous study to present an accurate portrayal of a fascinating and mysterious
man, who lived during an extraordinary period in

Oates begins the book with a thorough biography of Turner. He makes a real effort to show what
lead a man to commit the actions he did. Nat was born on October 17, 1800 in Southampton

Tiktaalik Research Paper
The picture of the cover of the magazine features Tiktaalik, a creature that is intermediate
between fish and primitive land living animals. Tiktaalik has fish like characteristics with scales
on its back as well as fins with fin webbing. However, it also has a flat head and a neck similar to
early land living animals. Inside the fin, one can also see bones that correlate with the parts of
the wrist, forearm, and upper arm. All of this is inside a fin with webbing. Shubin once dissected
a cadaver, but was never emotionally attached to it until he dissected the hand. It was when he
unwrapped the hand did he come to the realization that this hand once belonged to a living person
who used it to move and touch. Later on in his career, Shubin discovered Tiktaalik which revealed
the early stages of the parts of our hand evolving: the finger area, palm, and wrist. Shubin
expressed that seeing the wrist of a fishwas just as worthwhile as unwrapping the fingers of the
cadaver because during both times, he uncovered a deep relationship between his humanity and

Apple s Impact On The Computer Industry
Executive Summary Apple has been the leading force in innovation for the past couple of years,
not only does it dominate the mobile phone industry, it has also transformed the computer
industry too. With millions of people using their products today, Apple is one of the most
successful companies in the world. However, Apple did not come all this way from nothing. It
suffered ups and downs just like any other company, with this being said, the way Apple dealt with
its problems was the difference between it and any other company. Apple is strong today because
of the way that it was built by its co founder Steve jobs. With his leadershipskills, the culture he put
into place and the socialization process of the new employees, incorporating them into the
company s beliefs and values, were just building blocks to the bigger picture. Apple is also
successful due to the fact that it has good communication within it that improved after a specific
incident in the past by implementing what is known as a Direct Responsible Individual (DRI). A
mistake at Apple will almost never go unpunished and because of this, Apple employees perform at
110%.
Apple s Elements of Success:
Strong company culture involvement.

Unlawful Dismissal Case
In the first instance there is enough evidence for an unlawful dismissal, in this case the summary
dismissal was not handled correctly which by default becomes unlawful dismissal. Summary
dismissal is where the employee has been dismissed without notice because of something they
have done has destroyed the employment relationship (Fair Work Commission, 2015). In Larry s
case there has been a breach of general protections which requires a notice period at dismissal.
Examining the circumstance Larry s extremely low test readings, and no prior knowledge to the

This remedy may occur in a situation where an employee s actions are deemed to have
contributed to the loss of employment, but their dismissal was still considered unfair in the
circumstances. This occurred in Christopher Toms v Harbour City Ferries Pty Ltd as the
commission found, before the appeal into his reinstatement occur, that he should incur some
penalty for breach of the policy he was not awarded his lost wages. The aim of compensatory

of the unfair dismissal. The award is such amount the tribunal considers just and equitable in all
the circumstances. Under section 232 of the Act, the maximum amount of compensation that can
be awarded is capped at the lesser of six months pay or half income threshold. Conclusion If
Larry Marshall were to apply for unfair dismissal from LPHC he would be successful in his

Hymn To Odyn Analysis
Apollo Hymn Homer s hymn to Pythian Apollo is written as a homage to Apollo, composed of
stories illustrating the important aspects of his life. Homer goes on to describe in detail how
Apollo wishes to find a suitable site for his all knowing oracle, how he ultimately decides upon
building his temple at the site of Delphi, Hera s birth to the monstrous Typhaon, and conclusively,
how Apollorecruits his Cretan followers or priests. The hymn opens with a description of worship
for the god Apollo, while he plays his lyre. With the first few notes of his song, the other immortals

Homer goes on to describe how as Apollo was considering how to acquire these followers, he
took notice of a passing ship on the sea full of Cretan sailors. Intercepting them on their journey,
Apollo transformed into a dolphin and lept upon their boat, and caused the ship to shake with his
mighty power. The sailors, unrecognizing of the god, became fearful and followed the powerful
wind that lead them to Crisa. Once upon the shore, Apollo revealed his true and mighty form to
the sailors installing an awesome fear in each of them (278) and they rejoiced in serving him.
With the aid of Apollo, the sailors all became initiated so they may devote themselves to the
practices and worship of Apollo. This story highlights how Apollo came to be known as Apollo
Delphinios, the root of the word meaning dolphin, and likewise, how the location received the name
Delphi. Along with the tales asserting Apollo s birth and origin, the hymn also discusses Hera and
the monster Typhaon that she creates. Enraged with her husband Zeus, since he has on his own born
the wise goddess Athena from his forehead, Hera hopes to give birth a monster that will become
famous among mortals, but will not go against the sacred marriage vow that she and Zeus share.

Advantages Of Reflexive Standardization Of The Information...
According to Ole Hanseth et al (2010), reflexive standardization is the process of supporting
efforts to bring about order and organization in a function, and instead of achieving positive
results, negative results are achieved. Reflexive standardization brings about negative results as a
result of failing to be planned adequately from the onset. For instance, take for example the
Norwegian hospital; the development of the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) was developed as a
fragmented record of databases. The records brought about challenges in the manner in which they
were accessed and as a result, there was need to redesign the system. Instead of setting aside a
development team to redesign the system based on thorough research, the hospital decided to
centralize the database and create several views for different system users to view these records.
This was deemed to be the reflexive standardization of the information system. It had both
advantages and disadvantages as discussed.

understand the use of the system. By being complex, the system fails in its quest to become a better

In the late 1940s, a man named Sam Walton was franchising Ben Franklin s store located in
Newport, Arkansas. As a retailer, Walton continuously was in search of suppliers with best deals
on merchandise. Usually, if a retailer was able to get a deal from a wholesaler they would leave
their store prices at the regular price and pocket the excess money. Being the innovator he was,
Walton decided to pass the savings on to the consumer and make his money through the increased
volume of sales. This understanding would become the foundation of Walton s business strategy
when he developed Walmart in 1962.
Walton was known for being a cheap guy, so naturally he saw the value in discount

Daft Punk Research Paper
The early days of EDM as concert attractions were off to an unsteady start with an audio/visual
setup consisting of little more than a few speakers and a film projector. Although, the shows
changed and matured with the genre, many point to Daft Punk s first appearance at the
Coachella Valley Music and Arts festival in Indio, California, in 2006 where the duo unveiled
their now legendary pyramid as a game changer. Manning a 24 foot tall aluminum pyramid of
custom built supercomputers covered with screens, Daft Punk created what many believe to be
the best electronic show ever assembled, a veritable LED infused honeycomb pulsing with
music and purpose. The idea for the pyramid stage setup came from Daft Punk s 2005 video for
Technologic, which featured a little robot who chants the song s lyrics which flash on a television
monitor while sitting in a little red pyramid on a pyramid themed stage where Bangalter and de
Homem Christo are playing base guitars. The two thought it would be funny to be perched in a
larger pyramid in a crazy, tricked out show while trying to bring a completely new and global
experience to the audience. It was with that mindset that Daft Punk began the Coachella show
fittingly with the distinctive five note... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The LED specialist company LED FX is credited with creating the helmets, although it is thought
that Tony Gardner and special effects company Alterian engineered them. The helmets feature
intricate LED displays that can display text and sync images and patterns to music, and there is
a ribbed neck covering. Photographs of the duo in their helemets appear in French magazines a
month before Discovery drops: de Homem Christo s was gold and fatured a rainbow flanked smiley
face in lights; Bangalter s was silver with a narrow red visor. Tiny wires cascaded from the back of
the helmets to control boards in their

Mere Christianity Book 1 Summary
Book 3 of Mere Christianity contains 12 separate chapters, which has far too great a scope to
address properly here, so a glimpse will have to suffice. In the first, Lewis examines three
components of morality; the relations between men, the interior moral mechanics of a man, and the
relationship between a man and the Godwho made him. Lewis makes the case that, since we are
destined to live forever in one state or another, it is desperately important that we pay attention to
the sort of Being we are becoming. Lewis points out that most of humanity can agree that keeping
relations between men running smoothly are important, but varying world views and religions or
lack of religion, have produced some disagreements on the necessity of keeping one s own ship in
order, as it were, and it completely breaks down when the relationship between a man and his
Maker are addressed, as there is virtually no agreement there.
In the second section, he outlines the principle, or cardinal virtues: Prudence, Temperance, Justice
and Fortitude, which could also be termed wisdom, self control, fairness, equity, and steadfastness.
He uses the vivid illustration of an athlete, or mathematician who practices a virtue, making a shot
in tennis, or solving problems till they become internalized, a part of the person who disciplined
himself to perfect them. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What need will we have of being brave, for example, when there is no longer anything to fear?
The specific instances requiring these virtues will most likely have ceased to exist, but the
necessity of becoming a being who has these qualities will

Adidas Performance At The Water Tower Place
Intro: Our research team has been tasked with observing the Adidas performance store located
at the Water Tower Place. Adidas is a German multinational company that manufactures athletic
wear, shoes, and accessories. The company started in 1924 and has since expanded globally and
currently employs over 50,000 people (Torry). The company markets and sells their products in
retailers, as well as their own stores around the world. Adidas is a publicly traded company that
had 14 billion euros in revenue in 2013 and is currently has an approximated market value of 18
billion euros (Annual Report). Adidas mainly specializes in soccer wear, but has broadened its
product focus to basketball and conventional western athletic wear as well. In 2005, Adidas
bought Reebok in order to expand their influence and enter into different markets (NBC news).
They also sponsor athletes such as Lionel Messi, who has large influence on a European culture,
as well as Derrick Rose, who has helped raise awareness of their brand in western culture. From a
competition standpoint, Adidas three largest competitors are Puma, Nike, and Under Armour.
Historically, Adidas and Puma have the longest rivalry, dating back to 1948. Adolf Rudolf Dassler
originally started Adidas and Puma as a family company, but eventually had had a fallout, causing
Rudolf to leave and take over Puma himself (Torry). Currently, Nike is Adidas largest competitor
from a global business standpoint. Finally, Under Armour is an

Designing A Business Strategy For Business
Customizing Complex Buying Processes
Buyers with house accounts are easier to shepherd through complex buying processes such as
purchase order systems, gaining multiple approvals for business buys, authorizing multiple account
users and developing long term relationships and business partnerships. Many B2B companies are
moving toward using their platforms as marketplaces for multiple vendors, manufacturers and B2B
sales companies. Offering house credit is a good first step for positioning a B2B company at the
top of the chain for this forward thinking business strategy. When companies share financial
interests,. it s easier to work together from shared marketing platforms.
3. Fulfillment Convenience Applications
Customers enjoy faster processing of their orders when they ve been qualified for an account
because no immediate payment arrangements are necessary. B2B companies have all the
information they need to ship immediately, and customers with accounts generally provide more
complete information about their companies, buying habits and financial strengths so that
eCommerce platforms can segregate them with the high degrees of accuracy. When salespeople
know a company s limits, they can better target their sales efforts.
Gartner predicts that personalization on B2B ecommerce sites will enable companies to outsell
their competitors by 30 percent by 2018, and offering customers purchasing accounts delivers the
kind of personal service and easier ordering that ensure

Mean Girls In Prison
Back in our bedrooms, the girls are busy trying to put together clothes to wear to the prison. Our
frantic search for an outfit is interrupted as Ally walks into our bedroom, the one and only
bedroom that is shared by ten girls, and starts listing off the rules that the prison has on clothing.
No white, no blue, no black, nor gray clothing. She says, while scanning her eyes, that interlock
with all the girls briefly. Doing so, she verifies that all the girls are in agreement with her, or at the
least understand what she is saying. Resuming her little speech, she continues with an authoritative
voice and says, This is a prison, girls take it seriously. They will, without a second thought restrict

JetBlue Beginnings and Operational Methods
This section details the history of JetBlue, focusing on the activities of founder, David Neeleman.
JetBlue Airways, based in Forest Hills, New York, was founded in February, 1999, by David
Neeleman, the son of Mormon missionaries. He was born in Sao Paolo, Brazil, but raised in a
tightly knit Mormon family (Gajilan, 2003). After serving as a Brazilian missionary during college,
Neeleman returned to his family s base in Salt Lake City and began an enterprising condominium
rental business. As a tenacious seller, Neeleman s approach caught the eye of June ... Show more

Similarly, Neeleman investigated meal service and found that customers would be satisfied with
light snacks and sodas in lieu of lunch and dinner entrees. JetBlue saved roughly $3 per passenger
by cutting out meal service (Barney and Hesterly, 2010), but selected premier label snacks, such as
Terra Blue potato chips (Gajilan, 2003). The notable cost saver was utilizing flight crews to clean
airline cabins after each flight, which was inspired by the similar team player culture found at
Southwest. Special cleaning crews were not needed, and JetBlue was able to speed airplane
turnaround time to 35 minutes. This number was substantially below the industry average of one
hour, and the quicker turnaround was implemented largely to sell more flights daily (Gajilan,
2003). Neeleman utilized his knowledge of electronic ticketing and Internet based reservations to
further reduce staff engaging in customer transactions. A major operational cost saving involved
entering the major air industry with a new fleet of Airbus aircraft. Although European made,
Airbus was chosen due to their fuel efficiency, easier maintenance, and five year warranty
(Gajilan, 2003). Neeleman realized that quick turnaround time was a crucial factor in maximizing
profits by simply keeping the new planes in the air longer than the competition. Because JetBlue
worked largely out of secondary airports (Midway vs. O Hare), its flights avoided more

Breeding Purebred Dogs
The Negative Effects of Breeding Purebred Dogs Dog breeders breed purebred dogs. Standards
for dog breeds and qualifications for a dog to be considered purebred are set by kennel clubs.
Kennel clubs, such as the American Kennel Club, United Kennel Club, and the Kennel Club (UK),
are organizations that make money by registering dogs as purebred. Some people might want a
purebred because only purebreds can compete in most dogshows, which are sponsored by kennel
clubs. Others might think a purebred will be healthier than a mutt, which is a dog not bred from
a specific line of dogs, and kennel clubs won t register. However, breeding purebred dogs can
result in health problems for the dogs that are bred, such as inherited genetic diseases and... Show

If people really want a dog that is considered purebred, kennel clubs like the AKC need to change
standards for dog breeds to encourage healthy dogs, but the only way that is going to happen is
if their is a public push for it. It has happened before. In 2008, a documentary called Purebred
Dogs Exposed was televised in Great Britain. It was critical of the Kennel Club, the British
equivalent of the AKC, and showed purebreds with a range of health problems. The
documentary showed that the 2003 champion of the country s most prestigious dog show,
Crufts, was a Pekingese who had to be photographed sitting on ice blocks because his flat face
made his breed so prone to overheating. The film also showed pictures of certain breeds in the
early 20th century compared to pictures of the same breeds today, showing how selective breeding
had changed the dogs in the past century. For example, it showed the lengthened the back of the
dachshund, rounded the skull of the bull terrier, and the almost frog like stance of the german
sheperd. According to the documentary, vererinary fees for purebred dogs were costing British
owners 10 million pounds a week. In response to the documentary, the Kennel Club commissioned
an independent study led by Cambridge University professor emeritus Sir Patrick Bateson. The
resulting report largely confirmed the documentary s findings, which concluded that inbreeding,
selecting for extreme characteristics, and the practices of mass breeding facilities known as puppy
mills were negatively impacting dog welfare (The Purebred Paradox Part 2). Since then, Britain s

  • 3. Taylor Swift Figurative Language Almost everything in life can be viewed by different perspectives and almost everything is interpreted in a multitude of ways. This also applies to love and relationships. Love is so expansive and intricate that it takes a whole life time to try to explain and feel it. When trying to explain love some expressed love to be beautiful, miraculous and joyous. However, others portrayed the dark side of love; the hurt, the harsh reality, and broken hearts. Taylor Swift represented that same unhappiness that is associated with love in her music. In her song Forever and Always Taylor Swift exemplified her pain through the lyrics. In the sixth stanza of her song Taylor sang, Oh, I stare at the phone/ He still hasn t called/ And then you feel so low/ You can t feel... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It has a slight bitter sweet tone through the song and it is exemplified through the lyrics. It is almost as if he resents himself for still being in love with this girl even after the pain of rejection she has put him through. Turner s feelings never change towards this girl. He is still in love with her no matter what. The Arctic Monkeys song, Do I Wanna Know? uses figurative language terms such as metaphors, repetition, and personification to express the natural responses to fear of rejection and the desperation held onto when one wants still to hold onto a love that may or may not be there. Turner knew one thing for sure; that he was madly in love with this one girl and that he was willing to go after her by whatever means necessary. Yet again Turner still had some hesitation. This proved that point that there is always an uncertainty in love because no one is guaranteed that the person they love feels the same way. It is a natural instinct to want to feel accepted and it

Since telecom networks must be always on, it is critical to guarantee network service availability with the minimum amount of resources. In this paper, we presented XXX, our approach to provisioning availability in NFV. XXX provides a suite for service providers to concisely describe a data center topology and estimate the downtime distribution of a mapped SFC request. To reduce the running time of XXX, we further proposed an optimization framework which estimates the minimum amount of backup resources required to meet heterogeneous availability requirements and showed an heuristic solution with a theoretical bound. Through evaluation with data from production data centers, we demonstrated the effectiveness and efficiency of our solutions. For the future work, we are expanding our optimization framework to enable expedited estimations of the backup resource needed under other models of VNF. On the other hand, the downtime estimation accuracy is heavily dependent on the accuracy of the failure and repair distribution of each layer, including both hardware and software. Therefore it is important to analyze system log data, extract and model them using appropriate general ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Reasons For The Cuban Missile Crisis During 1962, the United States and the Soviet Union were in conflict due to the Soviet Union placing missiles in Cuba, known today as the Cuban missile crisis. In attempt to avoid nuclear conflict and force the removal of the missiles, Kennedy was faced with three options; to bomb the missile sites and/or conduct both sea and airborne landings, or blockade the island and reassure the removal of the missiles. Kennedy decided to blockade Cuba as it was the only option that would result in the removal of the missiles without it escalating to war. At first, Kennedy was enraged and wanted to attack the missile sites, but the issue was whether to let Khrushchev and Castro know his plan. If he had let them know, the Soviet Union could have responded earlier by striking against Berlin or their bases in Turkey. However, if it would be a surprise attack many people would be killed, equalling to further conflict. Kennedy reasoned it would not be a good idea due to the fact it was impulsive and the consequences would be drastic. The Joints Chiefs of Staff added that a surprise air strike would lead to an invasion.Although the air strike proposal was done for, the Joints Chief of Staff argued against the blockade debating that it would be inefficient and useless. Not only did they mention that the blockade would not remove the missiles for the simple fact that they were already there, but they also pointed out that doing so would cause the Soviet Union to do it also. Forcing the removal of the missiles would mean the United States would have to remove their missiles surrounding the Soviet Union too, or so they thought. Although a blockade had its cons, it was the safer way to go and would cause less extreme consequences according to Secretary McNamara and Robert F. Kennedy. • 14. The World s Economic Superpower Essay War has a way of bringing economies out of trouble. World War II for example, brought the United States out of the great depression and cemented them as the world s greatest economy. War, however, has no place on the horizon for China if they want to become the world s economic superpower. China relies too heavily on foreign influence and investment to take a risk on nationalistic or militaristic gains. While there are some pro conflict forces who have power within China, these desires will go unrealized as long as supreme leader Xi Jinping is in power. He understands the interests of China as how important it is for them to maintain positive international relationships, especially with technically advanced nations such as Russia and the United States. The vast extent of international trade through globalization, the large quantity of foreign investment, and the need for peaceful growth all motivate Xi Jinping to overpower the war prone forces among ruling groups in China and keep the country on a path towards prosperity, not war. As one of the great producing nations on this planet, China needs to maintain open and free trading throughout the world. This open trading and globalization has greatly benefited China as jobs are created and wealth and power sees unprecedented growth in the country (Wang 234). This conversation happens right before a battle between Arjuna and his brothers, the Pandavas, and their cousins, the Kurus, over who should be in charge of the kingdom. Arjuna doesn t want to kill his family and seeks guidance from Krishnaon what is to be done. The two have a lengthy conversation regarding the many paths to understanding, the primary goal for this period s religious tradition. It draws on the Upanishadic tradition of philosophy and generally thought of as the more intellectual yoga leading to the correct understanding of Atman and Brahman as both separate but really one and the same. For Arjuna to follow the jГ±anayoga successfully, he would need to understand the philosophical nuances of the path. In particular, he would need to understand how to act in such a way that was intent on action, not on the fruits of action (II.47). Krishna says this to Arjuna in response to Arjuna s claim that he will not fight (II.9) despite his warrior caste status and his role in the conflict as one of the five Pandava brothers. This seemingly paradoxical advice highlights the differences between focusing on the outcomes of a particular event (fruits of action) and focusing on simply completing an action. It is a process of losing attachments and, consequently, is essential to understanding Atman and Brahman. Letting go of Arjuna s attachment to the outcomes or the fruits of his action would free Arjuna from his discontentment and allow him to fulfil his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

According to Ole Hanseth et al (2010), reflexive standardization is the process of supporting efforts to bring about order and organization in a function, and instead of achieving positive results, negative results are achieved. For instance, take for example the Norwegian hospital; the development of the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) was developed as a fragmented record of databases. The records brought about challenges in the manner in which they were accessed and as a result, there was need to redesign the system. Instead of setting aside a development team to redesign the system based on thorough research, the hospital decided to centralize the database and create several views for different system users to view these records. The information systemsused by Walmart play a major role in their continued success. With their use of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), Walmart is able to send and receive instantaneous data to their networks. This is why Walmart has been able to remain competitively priced and control their inventories. This paper will show how Walmart has used many different information systems during the course of its history to manage both capital and human resources. History In the late 1940s, a man named Sam Walton was franchising Ben Franklin s store located in Newport, Arkansas. As a retailer, Walton continuously was in search of suppliers with best deals on merchandise. Usually, if a retailer was able to get a deal from a wholesaler they would leave their store prices at the regular price and pocket the excess money. Being the innovator he was, Walton decided to pass the savings on to the consumer and make his money through the increased volume of sales. This understanding would become the foundation of Walton s business strategy when he developed Walmart in 1962. Walton was known for being a cheap guy, so naturally he saw the value in discount ... • 45. Daft Punk Research Paper The early days of EDM as concert attractions were off to an unsteady start with an audio/visual setup consisting of little more than a few speakers and a film projector. Although, the shows changed and matured with the genre, many point to Daft Punk s first appearance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts festival in Indio, California, in 2006 where the duo unveiled their now legendary pyramid as a game changer. Manning a 24 foot tall aluminum pyramid of custom built supercomputers covered with screens, Daft Punk created what many believe to be the best electronic show ever assembled, a veritable LED infused honeycomb pulsing with music and purpose. The idea for the pyramid stage setup came from Daft Punk s 2005 video for Technologic, which featured a little robot who chants the song s lyrics which flash on a television monitor while sitting in a little red pyramid on a pyramid themed stage where Bangalter and de Homem Christo are playing base guitars. The two thought it would be funny to be perched in a larger pyramid in a crazy, tricked out show while trying to bring a completely new and global experience to the audience. It was with that mindset that Daft Punk began the Coachella show fittingly with the distinctive five note... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 47. Mere Christianity Book 1 Summary Book 3 of Mere Christianity contains 12 separate chapters, which has far too great a scope to address properly here, so a glimpse will have to suffice. In the first, Lewis examines three components of morality; the relations between men, the interior moral mechanics of a man, and the relationship between a man and the Godwho made him. Lewis makes the case that, since we are destined to live forever in one state or another, it is desperately important that we pay attention to the sort of Being we are becoming. Lewis points out that most of humanity can agree that keeping relations between men running smoothly are important, but varying world views and religions or lack of religion, have produced some disagreements on the necessity of keeping one s own ship in order, as it were, and it completely breaks down when the relationship between a man and his Maker are addressed, as there is virtually no agreement there. In the second section, he outlines the principle, or cardinal virtues: Prudence, Temperance, Justice and Fortitude, which could also be termed wisdom, self control, fairness, equity, and steadfastness. He uses the vivid illustration of an athlete, or mathematician who practices a virtue, making a shot in tennis, or solving problems till they become internalized, a part of the person who disciplined himself to perfect them. ... • 51. Jetblue JetBlue Beginnings and Operational Methods Steve Brindza Ohio Dominican University JetBlue Beginnings and Operational Methods This section details the history of JetBlue, focusing on the activities of founder, David Neeleman. JetBlue Airways, based in Forest Hills, New York, was founded in February, 1999, by David Neeleman, the son of Mormon missionaries. He was born in Sao Paolo, Brazil, but raised in a tightly knit Mormon family (Gajilan, 2003). After serving as a Brazilian missionary during college, Neeleman returned to his family s base in Salt Lake City and began an enterprising condominium rental business. Similarly, Neeleman investigated meal service and found that customers would be satisfied with light snacks and sodas in lieu of lunch and dinner entrees. JetBlue saved roughly $3 per passenger by cutting out meal service (Barney and Hesterly, 2010), but selected premier label snacks, such as Terra Blue potato chips (Gajilan, 2003). The notable cost saver was utilizing flight crews to clean airline cabins after each flight, which was inspired by the similar team player culture found at Southwest. Special cleaning crews were not needed, and JetBlue was able to speed airplane turnaround time to 35 minutes. This number was substantially below the industry average of one hour, and the quicker turnaround was implemented largely to sell more flights daily (Gajilan, 2003). Neeleman utilized his knowledge of electronic ticketing and Internet based reservations to further reduce staff engaging in customer transactions. A major operational cost saving involved entering the major air industry with a new fleet of Airbus aircraft. Although European made, Airbus was chosen due to their fuel efficiency, easier maintenance, and five year warranty (Gajilan, 2003). Neeleman realized that quick turnaround time was a crucial factor in maximizing profits by simply keeping the new planes in the air longer than the competition. Because JetBlue worked largely out of secondary airports (Midway vs. O Hare), its flights avoided more ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 52. Breeding Purebred Dogs The Negative Effects of Breeding Purebred Dogs Dog breeders breed purebred dogs. Standards for dog breeds and qualifications for a dog to be considered purebred are set by kennel clubs. Kennel clubs, such as the American Kennel Club, United Kennel Club, and the Kennel Club (UK), are organizations that make money by registering dogs as purebred. Some people might want a purebred because only purebreds can compete in most dogshows, which are sponsored by kennel clubs. Others might think a purebred will be healthier than a mutt, which is a dog not bred from a specific line of dogs, and kennel clubs won t register. However, breeding purebred dogs can result in health problems for the dogs that are bred, such as inherited genetic diseases and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If people really want a dog that is considered purebred, kennel clubs like the AKC need to change standards for dog breeds to encourage healthy dogs, but the only way that is going to happen is if their is a public push for it. It has happened before. In 2008, a documentary called Purebred Dogs Exposed was televised in Great Britain. It was critical of the Kennel Club, the British equivalent of the AKC, and showed purebreds with a range of health problems. The documentary showed that the 2003 champion of the country s most prestigious dog show, Crufts, was a Pekingese who had to be photographed sitting on ice blocks because his flat face made his breed so prone to overheating. The film also showed pictures of certain breeds in the early 20th century compared to pictures of the same breeds today, showing how selective breeding had changed the dogs in the past century. For example, it showed the lengthened the back of the dachshund, rounded the skull of the bull terrier, and the almost frog like stance of the german sheperd. According to the documentary, vererinary fees for purebred dogs were costing British owners 10 million pounds a week. In response to the documentary, the Kennel Club commissioned an independent study led by Cambridge University professor emeritus Sir Patrick Bateson. The resulting report largely confirmed the documentary s findings, which concluded that inbreeding, selecting for extreme characteristics, and the practices of mass breeding facilities known as puppy mills were negatively impacting dog welfare (The Purebred Paradox Part 2). Since then, Britain s Kennel Club ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
