Mass Media Controversy
Mass media, especially social media and the internet, exposes people to ideas and information and is a
powerful vehicle that can be used both positively and negatively. Its role cannot be underestimated in
the influence of current societal attitudes towards eating, body image paradigms and self esteem.
There is much controversy around mass media creating unrealistic expectations of how we should
look , i.e. the ideal body/appearance , based on what is portrayed in movies, television, videos,
billboards, music, newspapers, fashion designers, health industry, magazines, internet and social
media, where pictures are edited and airbrushed and many female celebrities and models are
underweight and men are lean, strong and muscular.

Social Media
Tweet that!! Post that pic on Instagram!! Slide in my DMs!!! Add me on Snapchat!!! These are the
phrases our generation love to use when we try to interact with one another. Social media is a great
way to open up opportunities and can assist us with getting our merchandise/business/art promoted or
advertised for the world to see. However, there are numerous ways that social media can ruin people s
reputation/careers/future in getting a job. Today I am going to provide the positive and negative
features of social media.
Social networks are successful because they offer widespread participation, but at the same time, they
open their users up to unnecessarily dangerous exposure. (Herring, Mark Y.. Social Media and the
Good Life: Do They Connect? Jefferson NC: McFarland, 2015. ProQuest ebrary. Web. 10 September
2016.). Social media (sometimes defined as social network/networks) can be used to promote your
ideas. Promoting your ideas through social media is a great way your voice to be heard by millions of
other users using the same social media you use every day. Promoting may get you discovered by
celebrities/authors/people who are looking for good marketing. However, some ideas/opinions you
choose to express may cause an uproar of cyberbullying and may cause negative attention to be
directed towards you, which nobody wants to deal with. Communication is also a great advantage that

Sonnet 73 By William Shakespeare
The poem Sonnet 73 by William Shakespeare follows a typical Shakespearean sonnet structure;
fourteen lines, three quatrains followed by a rhyming couplet, a basic ababcdcdefefgg rhyme scheme,
and predominately following iambic pentameter with one additional unstressed syllable in the first line
of each quatrain and the couplet. The sonnet as a whole is an extended metaphor for the aging and
process and death; however, it is broken into three smaller metaphors all supporting the speaker s
impending end of life through the process of aging. Natural aspects winter, twilight, and fire are
presented as an extended metaphor for the the thematic undertone of aging and death. Nature alone is
emblematic of the process of aging throughout one s life. Nature is always changing, just as humans
are never the same in one second to the next. Humans are an outcome of natural processes. It is only
right that the aging of the speaker be represented through natures own developments. The two work
simultaneously to present the journey of the speaker towards an acceptance of his death and loss love.
It is through natural cycles he realizes the only condition to living is death. The metaphor begins in
quatrain one with the symbolism of winter. The coloring of the yellow leaves falling from the tree clue
the reader into the seasonal time period. The speaker directly compares himself to winter when he says
That time of year thou may st in me behold . He holds the season

Diversity Reflection
The implications and understandings developed in class were a gateway in applying it to real world
work. Being given the opportunity to volunteer at The Continuum, I was able to understand the
meaning of disability in the lives of others. I saw firsthand how access, knowledge, and care can
transform a person s daily life in all aspects. With educative modules on assistive technology, culture
and care, family issues, and many others, I was able to transform my perspective and practice what I
am currently learning in the classroom. The Continuum provides a ReGenerations Adult Day Club for
individuals who may deal with Alzheimer s disease, Dementia, Traumatic Brain Injuries, Stroke
Recovery, Parkinson s disease, and M.S. . This program is fundamental in providing an array of
different care, and I found it to be beneficial for more than just their members. Through my 15 hours
of volunteer experience with The Continuum, I analyzed how a person s disability can be managed
and addressed using a variety of techniques and methods, in caring for individuals.
My first day volunteering had me nervous, but with an excited anticipation of being able to help
others, while learning. I immediately assessed the location for how they incorporated accessibility in
their framework, in regard to, the layout, doors, and general environment. It is interesting how once
you are aware of something, it easily becomes incorporated in simple daily life. I was given a brief

Most Common Internet Server Operating Systems
POS/355
Internet Servers (also commonly known as Web Servers), primarily function to deliver web pages on
request to clients. When a user types a domain name into their browser, or clicks on a link, the request
is first sent to a Domain Name Server (DNS). DNSs are servers that hold databases full of domain
names and IP addresses. When a DNS receives a request, it matches the domain name (ie,
www.CriketX.com) to the IP address of the server that holds all of the files that make up that
particular website and sends that information back to the user s browser. The browser can then send a
request for those files to the IP address of the web server (205.134.224.227 for www.CriketX.com). If

VB development tools as well as Access and MS SQL cannot be run on Linux servers, which is why
Windows servers are a big hit with Microsoft technology fans. When it comes to system security,
Windows web servers are more prone to attacks by hackers, but this also has more to do with
administration than with the fact that it s running Windows (webdevelopersnotes.com). Also, Linux
servers perform better under heavy traffic so, in the case of shared IP hosting where multiple sites are
running on the same IP address, Linux is the better choice over Windows. Linux also offers more ways
to connect. Windows offers FTP access and it s possible to configure telnet (if your hosting provider
allows it) but Linux offers FTP, telnet, and ssh access. Linux servers are also more likely to offer CGI
and Perl access, although some Windows servers do make it available. Both types of web servers offer
server side scripting tools. When it comes down to choosing what operating system to use on a web
server, or perhaps which hosting company to sign up with, these are all things that you need to take
into consideration. In many cases, it s best to use Linux unless you have a specific reason not to. Many
content management systems such as WordPress or Joomla use PHP and SQL which traditionally runs
faster, and more reliably, on Linux systems, but can be run on Windows web servers as well. Of
course, if your site has been built using Windows specific languages and databases, such as

Samuel Passage
1. What is the point/purpose of the passage/story as it stands? This specific passage focuses in on
introducing the main character, Samuel. Samuel is a prophet of the Lord, and these initial chapters
describe the story of how he was led to become a prophet. Samuel s parents were faithful believers.
Hannah, Samuel s mother, was barren for a long period of time, which inflicted a tremendous amount
of distress on her. One day Hannah decided to visit the temple to pray to the Lord. Eli, the temple
priest prophesied to Hannah that her desires to bear a child will be answered. It came to pass where
Hannah bore Samuel, and joyfully offered him as a nazirite for all time to remain in the presence of
the Lord forever (**). After Samuel was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The people are seen corrupted and to be rejecting God on some level with their request to have a King
like the other nations. I am not certain if the issue is so much about having Kings rather than judges,
but the posture of their hearts and the motivations to have this new type of leadership. It appears to
some degree that to be a unified nation that will soon become a distinguishable nation, a form of
government was needed quite possibly to some degree. But it does appear evidently clear that the Lord
was displeased with their motives. The posture of their hearts were not seeking the Lord s will above
all else. They not only rejected Samuel s words of warning, but it appears their focus was on other

Comparison Between Different Enterprise Architecture...
4.1 Comparison of Different Enterprise Architecture Frameworks
A number of EA frameworks exist in the industry with the goal of addressing the basic challenge of
assessing, aligning, and organizing business objectives with technical requirements and strategies.
Examples include the Zachman Enterprise Framework, The Open Group Architecture Framework
(TOGAF), OMB Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA), and The Gartner Methodology (formerly the
Meta Framework).
Each framework possesses different strengths and weaknesses, which makes it difficult to find any
one existing framework that is ideal for all situations. The following chart depicts how four Enterprise
Architecture Frameworks compare.
4.2 How to Solve the Problem?
To touch lightly on value, there are multiple levels of value and it is one of the most difficult things to
measure as it contains both quantitative and qualitative aspects. But for an EA practice the following
should be considered:
Cost Avoidance How do we avoid unnecessary costs?
Cost Reduction How do we reduce our current spend?
Quality How do we improve the quality of our information?
Risk Containment How to we control and reduce organisational risks?
Stakeholder Value How do we improve our value to our stakeholders?
Resource Allocations How do we improve the view of demand for our services?
Productivity How do we increase our productivity and efficiency?
Collaboration How do we improve our engagement

Charlemagne played a pivotal rule in western Europe after the collapse of the Roman empire. Europe
was going through a period of time known as the dark ages. This period is from the fall of Roman to
the beginning of the Middle ages ( the dark age ). Charlemagne also known as Charles the Great
provided a turning point to this era and was able to slow down the cultural and political crumbling of
the Middle ages. In order to secure these two important aspects of the new empire he relied on
numerous resources (Charlemagne). One of Charlemagne s greatest resources was the church. His
history with them dated back to 754 where he took part in the anointment of Pepin who became king

Stereotypes In Aziz Ansari s Master Of None
The Netflix original Master of None in its 10 episodes covers substantial ground from first generation
children in America and women s rights to the struggle for people of color, specifically of Asian
decent. With a plethora of shows that just can t seem to integrate an array of people from various
walks of life, with varied opinions, personalities, and beliefs, Master of None stands alone. It s a
breath of fresh air and a rainbow of colors, experiences, upbringings, and genders. Could this series be
the beginning of a much needed shift in television and art?
Getting to know each character is a pleasure. The main character Dev played by Aziz Ansari is a first
generation Asian American young adult embarking on his early thirties. He s conflicted about his
career goals, his relationship aspirations, his future, and his life in general. He somewhat

The Importance Of Campaigning In The United States
To win a presidential election, it is a necessity to be able to afford the cost of campaigning. The start
up cost is $10 million just for the headquarter. These candidates will need to spend another $4 to $15
million to stay in the game. The fight to remain as a candidate is vicious as there will only be a couple
of candidates being chosen for the final round. To be in the final round, they have to gain their
popularity, advertise about themselves in order to win. The downside to the hefty price of
campaigning is that only the wealthy can win. The less wealthy ones are those whom are less funded
and are not in the two major political parties in the US. Hence the majority in the US might not be
very well represented due to social inequality.

Case Study Deere Company
Deere Company Case Study 1. How strong are the competitive forces confronting Deere in the global
market for agricultural and construction equipment? Supplier Power: Deere was able to keep its
competition from driving supply chain prices up by being able to develop their own supply chains.
The company opened manufacturing plants both domestically and internationally that were
specifically designed to manufacture different parts. With these plants being Deere plants this has
enabled the company to have no need to rely on external suppliers and has been able to rely on itself.
Buyer Power: As of 2013 Deere Company owned the largest market share of agricultural and forestry
equipment. The company has been able to create strong brand loyalty through the Deere color
selection and the specific fit of all parts and pieces. Competitive Rivalry: It would appear that Deere
Company has set itself apart from all potential competitors. They have created an extremely unique
brand that has attracted consumers away from potential competitors and really has been able to put
them in a segment of their own. Threat of Substitution: Their products and colors separate Deere from
its competitors. The company has always looked to support farmers and owners of their equipment
with the goal of making owners of other equipment wish that they had bought a Deere. Threat of New
Entry: Overall there is not a great barrier to new entry but because of the stiff competition at the top
new entrants have had struggles. 2. How have Deere s business strategy choices strengthened or
weakened its competitive position in the agricultural and construction equipment industries? Deere
Company since the beginning has always aimed to support owners of their equipment and to make
owners of any other equipment wish that they had purchased a Deere instead. Their approach to
business has truly set themselves apart from their competition and has left a strong impression on both
their consumers and their competition. The fact that Deere since the beginning has always looked to
produce the highest quality of equipment has positioned them at the top of the industry. Deere
Company looks to understand the challenges faced by particular regions

Questions On Financial Reporting Disclosures
1. Introduction
ICAEW made nine recommendations about financial reporting disclosures in 2013 to solve current
disclosure overload problem. This report will mainly argue against recommendation four. Choosing
this prospect because one of the objectives of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is to protect
consumers from being taken advantage of by other informed participants in the capital market. Among
all the suggestions, disclosing different reports for different users has the most significant influence on
investors and capital market.
Section 2 of this report will firstly discuss the probability of fraudulent financial reporting and the
fairness problem. Then the information asymmetry problem and the instability of the security market

Assuming public companies are allowed to distinguish classes of users, the decision relevant
information could be split on the basis of different interests and somebody may take advantage of this
loophole to provide fraudulent information for a favourable outcome in stock price.
2.2 Example of FFR
According to the most resent report from Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE, 2008),
from January 2006 to February 2008, among all types of frauds, FFR associated with largest average
cost which was $258 million, while the second largest was $34 million. Furthermore, the study from
KPMG (2003) and ACFE (2008) all agreed FFR is the least common but most costly fraud (Carcello
and Hermanson, 2008). The estimated annual cost of FFR in USA is $1 trillion (ACFE, 2008), and this
is just under the relaxed disclosure regulation, which is the Securities Offering Reform, issued in 2005
in America (Clinton et al., 2014). And FFR is certainly not limited to the United States (Zack, 2009).
Hence, FCA considered FFR facts in US as a lesson and involved in a special project in 2010 in UK to
examine fraud in public companies (Fisher et al., 2010). To conclude, recommendation four could
increase the probability of FFR which could stimulate the stock price, and that will harm consumers
and encourage the unhealthy competition in security market.

The Negative Effects Of Violence In Television And Mass...
With 59 dead and 527 injured, the Las Vegas shooting earlier this month was one of the deadliest mass
shootings in American history. With no immediately apparent motive, it begs the question in people as
to what might possess a person to go out and commit such a heinous crime. Indeed, the question has
dogged the American populace ever since the invention of the modern mass shooting, and even before,
attached to other senseless violent atrocities. Human brains are wired to look for causality in
meaningless events as a survival mechanism, so they have a tendency to find it in places where it
actually never existed in the first place. This is why violence in television and video games has come
under fire in recent years as their influence expands, despite evidence that such phony violence does
not beget real violence and may, in fact, be beneficial to a person s well being.
Firstly, it should be noted that the studies people often cite when attempting to prove media violence
has negative effects on behavior are flawed and inconsistent. In a review of publications on the subject
conducted by psychologist Jonathan L. Freedman, he found that of the 2,500 publications, there were
only 200 pieces of non duplicated research among them, stemming from places of varying scientific
legitimacy. The ways in which many of these studies are conducted can lead to skewed results in favor
of the hypothesis the researchers want to prove. When studying how violent media consumption
affects play

Improving Procurement And Sourcing Efficiency
Pursuit for competitive advantage is vital for the survival of any business organization s supply chain.
Businesses are feeling the difficulty to improve procurement and sourcing efficiency. The value that
can be achieved through successful procurement practices is often a lot harder to achieve than many
companies actually realize. If a company expects to grow and survive, it constantly needs to add
value. Procurement is one area that has become a critical area of focus to create a more competitive
and efficient supply chain. In the past, procurement was seen as insignificant to other areas of an
organization. However, implementing cross functional teams to continually review suppliers ensures
that an organization benefits from the best ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Fortune 500 companies like IBM, Dell, and Delta Air Lines are spending higher than 50% of their
revenues on procurement. For a long time, procurement has been looked at as negotiating to get better
prices. Many organizations still view procurement as a way to influence spending to get discounts and
lower costs from their suppliers. However, sustainability and the supply chain risks that companies
face today call for procurement to be different now. Organizations can see real savings by looking at
total cost of ownership, which can include a lot of the end to end supply chain costs. Disruptions are
unavoidable and every decision involved in the procurement process has a risk factor to it. In order for
procurement to influence and affect a company it must present a business case that it is a value added
function. An organization can add value long term with its ability of purchasing within procurement.
Organizations need to stop short term thinking because of the high risk levels associated with this.
Procurement decisions can add a lot of value to a company, but organizations need to think of the long
term implications of their decisions. Purchasing is important to competitive advantage because it
increases value and savings for a firm. Purchasing can build relationships, drive innovation, improve
quality, and reduce products time to market. Suppliers have a huge impact on organizations total costs
because most product features come from

Explain How To Determine A Cat s Age
How to Determine a Cat s Age
According to The American Veterinary Medical Association market statistics there are approximately
82 million domesticated cats populating American households. A cat can make a loving pet, but expect
to make a commitment to care for them for up to fifteen years. There are several factors that are used
to establish a cat s age and life expectancy.
On average, a domesticated, indoor cat can live on average 14 16 years for a female and 12 14 for a
male. In rare instances, some cats have lived to 20 30 years of age. An outdoor, household cat has a
life span of almost ten years. Alternatively, a feral cat s lifespan is estimated to be only 3 4 years. A
feral cat is a wild, undomesticated cat that lives outside and depends on its own devices for food,
shelter, and protection. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An adult cat s coat will become coarser and thicker, and color may change from dark to light or vice
versa.
A cat s lifespan is dependent on several owner maintenance factors and genetics. Cats that are spayed
or neutered and live indoors have the longest life expectancy. They are less likely to have tragic deaths
caused by traffic accidents, fights with predators, or exposure to lethal chemicals and diseases.
Providing a cat with a well balanced diet based on their individual needs will add years to their life.
Regular vaccinations and veterinarian care will reduce the risk of feline diseases and can lead to early
detection of health conditions.
At one time, it was thought that a cat ages seven human years for each calendar year. This has been
proven a misconception. A cat ages quickly the first two years of life and then age progresses slower
in the years after. At one year of age, a cat is approximately 15 years old in human years. By the age of
two, it has aged to 24 human years. Each of the following years the cat ages approximately four
human years; therefore a five year old feline is equal to 36 years

Pygmalion And Galatea And My Fair Lady Research Paper
In today s world we are set to view that the opposite gender is becoming more of an equality view. We
see that in today s society we are presented with the idea that women can do anything men can do. Yet
in the myth of Pygmalion Galatea and the film My Fair Lady we are set forth to see the different
views on the opposite gender and how gender criticism comes to life. Developing feelings is based on
how we see the person, throughout we see both characters develop relationships based on how they
create this person, each man forms new feelings and perception on women as they sculpt and create,
their views on women are changed and the gender criticism views flip. Our society today has become
more accepting with equality in gender. We are faced with having the opposite sex come out above us
even with the disadvantages of paternity and having more emotions. Women are oppressed by
patriarchy economically, politically, socially, and psychologically; patriarchal ideology is the primary
means by which they are kept so. (Brizee). Women are seen as less of men due to their disadvantages
such as birth and their emotions. Both characters don t really generate feelings for women because
they are focused on themselves and are under the impression that women are all the same. Women
have more psychological and primarily different logic than men hence the reason they generally make
women out to be less than them. Back then women were viewed as less capable and not having the
ability to do the things men can do. We are taught that now a days no matter what your gender is you
can be anything you want. Feminist criticism concern itself with stereotypical representations of
genders. It also may trace the history of relatively unknown or undervalued women writers, potentially
earning them their rightful place within the literary canon, and helps create a climate in which women
s creativity may be fully realized and appreciated. (Delahoyde). The stereotype that is known about
females is that we represent a more delicate nature. Yet we see many women coming out on top and
creating work that no man has done. Eventually women become more noticed and recognized for their
efforts and creativity. In the myth Pygmalion

The Year Education Act Defines A Child As Having Special...
The 1996 Education Act defines a child as having special educational needs (SEN) when they have a
learning difficulty which calls for special educational provision to be made for them (section 312).
This involves those who have greater difficulty learning and/or disabilities that prevent them from
accessing educational facilities. This represents approximately 15.4% of pupils in schools in England
(Department of Education, 2015). A key question that surrounds this area is whether it is better for
these children to be included in mainstream schooling or whether they should be excluded (Warnock
Norwich, 2010). However this is not a straightforward issue, there are wider needs, like social class,
that the classification of SEN often ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each field has its own doxa individual rules and conventions that one can then adopt (often
unknowingly). According to the doxa, each person can be ascribed their legitimate position within the
field (Bourdieu Eagleton, 1992). This can contribute to the habitus . At its simplest, habitus is who we
are our internalised dispositions and practices which we act according to (Thomas Loxley, 2007). The
habitus expresses itself in all situations of life, from bodily movements to conscious thoughts (Webb,
Schirato, Danaher, 2002). These three concepts are mutually constituted and are what subsequently
brings about inequalities. According to Bourdieu (1977), school s act as a social selector, they favour
particular cultural capitals. He called this reproduction where a child s habitus fits with the doxa of a
school, they have an advantage and are able to engage with school easier (Bourdieu Passeron, 1977),
whilst excluding others, like SEN pupils.
According to Bernstein (1973), social inequalities are transmitted through schools. He noted a clear
communication difference between working and middle class children, which is then echoed in
schools. Schools (often implicitly) adopt an educational code which effects everything from teacher

Descriptive Essay About Plane Trip
It was 8 o clock in the morning when we boarded the plane for Hawaii. My parents were waiting for
this trip for a long time. Mom was a flight attendant that was based in Hawaii, and Dad was living
here while doing collage. We have never been on a trip like this before. We have gone on car trips, but
never on a plane. As we were boarding the plane my brother, Lowden and I were in awe of what we
saw. There was a tunnel leading to the plane with little windows you could look outside with. It was a
rainy day outside, and with little drops of water just enough to make you cool. We got inside the plane
with flight attendants greeting us by putting flowers in our hair. Our seat was close to the front and
near the window. Lowden and I sat down ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

further to the car dealership place, and got a car that we rented for the trip.
We have old friends, we are meeting at the beach let s go, Mom said excitedly.
We drove away from the beautiful mountains and towards the beach. Every time we passed a
restaurant I stuck my nose out the window. smelling the amazing aromas of tropical food. When we
finally reached the beach we all hopped out of the car. We walked closer and closer to the ocean. Once
we got close enough to the sand I took off my flip flops, and ran into the ocean. There was only about
30 people at the beach. About half of them were just laying in the sand tanning, and the other half was
playing in the water.
My parents meet their friends while Lowden, and I walked to the ocean. We saw a small wall that was
leading out to sea. Lowden asked Dad if we could walk across it. He said only if we re careful because
it is slippery. I was the first to walk across it. The wall when about 30 feet into the ocean.
Do you want to go out the the edge and jump into the water? I asked.
Sure, Lowden Replied
We kept walking slowly down towards the edge of the wall. We got the the edge of the wall, and
Lowden asked who should go first. I insisted because I was so excited to get in the water for the first
time. I jumped in. Crunch. My knees were bent and I was touching the ocean floor.

The Mississippi River is one of the world s major river systems not only in size, but in habitat
diversity as well. It is the third longest river in North America. It flows 2,350 miles from its source at
Lake Itasca through the center of the United States to the Gulf of Mexico. When the Mississippi is

However, the population of alligators in Louisiana was not always as booming as it is today. The
alligator was sometimes closed due to the overpopulation of alligators in previous years. In fact, the
alligator was listed on the Endangered Species Act in 1967. By 1974, the alligator population had
greatly increased, therefore, it was successfully petitioned and taken off of the Endangered Species
Act.
Approximately 200 species of birds make effective use of the variety of different homes in the river
basin and deltas. These species include: the bald eagle, wood storks, yellow crowned night herons, and
the painted buntings. Not only is the Atchafalaya river basin known for its many different bird species,
but the Atchafalaya delta is as well. The Atchafalaya River Basin is the main center of the wild
crawfish harvest in Louisiana. It is home to over 100 freshwater fish species, and even includes the
endangered Pallid Sturgeon. Dozens of other infrequent fish visitors are seen here as well from the
ocean and other places. The river basin is the most popular recreational fishing site in

The Eathen Kipling
One cannot succeed without the possibility of failure. President Abraham Lincoln was born into
poverty, failed twice as a business owner, lost over eight elections, and eventually suffered a nervous
breakdown. A few years later, he won the presidential election and became one of the most impactful
presidents in American history. President Lincoln exemplified the Graduate at Graduation: Open to
Growth subgoal of seeking new opportunities, despite the possibility of risk. If President Lincoln did
not have the courage to seek new change in his life for the better, knowing that he might fail, he never
would have become president (Steinberg). Poetry presents a unique perspective on this concept of
failure and the resulting path to success. Rudyard Kipling (1865 1936) was one of the few nineteenth
century poets who wrote extensively on the subject. Kipling, who mostly wrote short stories for
children (most notably The Jungle Book), expanded his talents into poetry later in life. Many of
Kipling s poems deal with learning from loss and how we should accept ... Show more content on

4b, Another way that technology can have an impact on technology is with the technology that is
becoming the new phase in the United States. For example virtual greeters are lately being assessed in
the customer market to see how customers respond which if well will soon be brought to the UK.
Virtual greeters are said to be a lot cheaper to run than to pay employees which is obviously attracting
the business owners as they believe they will save money and make more profit. Another technology
that is being tested is the advice giving mirrors; these can be used by makeup stools, clothes stores and
other personal grooming stores. The mirror will save companies having to pay employees to give
customers advice as the mirror will do it. A bonus of the mirrors is that a customer can simply hold an
outfit up to the mirror and the mirror will suggest accessories to go with the outfit, although when the
mirror is not being used by customers the retailers can play advertisements or videos via the mirror.
Another technology that is going to affect Bluewater is touch screens; these can be put into stores for
customers to compare different products that are in store without having to search the store itself. This
product will be mostly found in phone stores and retailers that sell more than one brand of the same
product, for example Boots or Superdrug with makeup. (Girard, L,

methods. The sample population consisted of nearly 500 senior level students enrolled in a collegiate
aviation professional pilot program. The researchers recorded flight time and calendar time, which
they statistically analyzed, using Statistical Procedures for the Social Sciences (SPSS) and a software
statistical program. The researchers concluded that a significant percentage of students do not reach
flight training capacity due to plateaus and as a result the entire flight training organization suffers.
The article offers several recommendations to increase student pilot capacity, with the first being early

A Comparison Of Justice In Bohemia And A Scandal In Belgravia
Examine how the crime fiction texts A Scandal in Bohemia and A Scandal in Belgravia privilege the
dominate values of society and appeal to the audiences sense of justice.
The crime fiction texts A scandal in Bohemia and A scandal in Belgravia explore the historical and
cultural position of dominant social values and beliefs in society, shaped by the culture and time of
which the texts were written. The audience is invited to consider the ways in which the privileged
ideological assumptions which inform our reading, are important to the meaning we make from the
text through the dominant social values at the time. The way in which the texts represents people,

The way in which these dominant values of society are privileged by the texts via their characters and
plot, appeal to the audience s sense of justice through the issues it raises. The issues, including the
obstruction of justice and good vs. evil, lead to appearances of crime and presents the audience with
common features associated with crime fiction, including characters (detectives, suspects) and red
herrings. This appeals to one s sense of justice, thus questioning the audiences view on preventing
crime and their opinion on the pursuit/obstruction of justice through the appearance of the privileged
social values in association with common features of crime fiction.
The idea that patriarchal power places women in an inferior position, particularly in patriarchal
societies and function to maintain the dominant social order, is a value closely followed and in some
ways challenged in A Scandal in Bohemia and A Scandal in Belgravia . Traditionally women were
perceived as being the physically and intellectually weaker sex and in all ways subordinate to men a

Fluoride And Its Effect On The Quality Of Life
Fluoride plays an important role in improving overall health amongst the population by reducing the
occurrence of dental caries.
Dental caries has been shown to have a negative impact on the quality of life, psychological and social
aspects of children s lives.
Fluoride is naturally present to some extent in all foods and water.
Water fluoridation
Is the adjustment of the natural concentration of fluoride in drinking water to the optimal
recommended level for the prevention of dental caries.
Fluoride plays a key role in preventing dental caries and works in two ways systemically and topically.
As a topical effect; fluoride in saliva interacts with the minerals on the tooth surface to replace all the
lost enamel and so prevents dental caries.
Fluoride at an optimal level in the water supply provides the ideal, constant repair kit for teeth, as
fluoride protects both developing (i.e. pre eruption) and erupted teeth against caries, it benefits
individuals of all ages.
As a systemic effect; the presence of fluoride in the pre eruptive phase leads to structural
improvements that render the tooth more resistant to later acid attack, i.e. after the tooth erupts into the
mouth.
By reducing the amount of dental caries in both children and adults, aiding in counter balancing the
negative health implications associated with increased levels of dental caries.
In Ireland, water fluoridation plays a key role in counter balancing the effects of poor tooth brushing
habits and

Cusco Vs Peru
The city of Cusco, Peru covers around 150 square miles in total; to contrast, Lima, Peru is over six
times that size (Cartwright). Many people wonder how they could be alike at all, and without the
immense Peruvian pride throughout both cities, they would appear alien to each other. The two most
well known Peruvian cities are different in too many ways to count. Cusco used to be the center of the
Incan Empire and is known for its ancient ruins that are overflowing with history, while Lima s parks
and street art are beautiful examples of modern art and pull dozens of different cultures together. Lima
and Cusco differ in an infinite number of ways, but both cities stand out, especially when it comes to
food, attractions, and city life.

Peru as a whole is known for speaking very clear and easy to understand Spanish. Many say that it is
the easiest to speak and understand. Overall, Peruvians have mild accents and speak slower than their
neighboring countries, such as Colombia and Chile. Although slang exists in both cities, it is not only
simple and self explanatory, but they are also words and phrases used throughout the country. For
example, in both parts of the country, the word flaca, which is literally translated to skinny, means
girlfriend. On the same note, the word guachimán means watchman in Peru. In parts of South
America, changing cities means learning an entire new language, but in Peru, that is not necessary. If
one studies Spanish in Lima, he would easily be able to use the vocabulary and slang from Lima in
Cusco without a

My Dream In Life
It was just another typical, and boring day in Hopedale, Massachusetts. Working on a farm meant
blood, sweat, and sometimes even tears. I walked up to the barn to milk the cows, and fed freshly
picked vegetables to the pigs, afterward I made my way two miles to the flea market to sell my milk
and wool. By the time I got back, it had reached dusk, the sky was filled with gorgeous, bright stars
that filled every crack of the dark night sky. I was exhausted and filthy, I smelt like dirty socks that
hadn t been washed in years. As soon as I got home, I hopped into the shower, the warm water
dripping from my hair to my toes. I ran my fingers through the rough tangles in my curly brown hair.
As I grabbed the shampoo bottle I could feel my feet burning from the blisters on my the bottom of
my feet. I turned knob on the left side of the shower to turn off the water and reached for a dry towel
and wrapped it around my waist. Water trickled down my legs as I attempted to dry myself off. I
slipped into my favorite warm pajama pants and put on a large teal sweatshirt, then i got into bed and
pulled the covers up to my face and immediately dozed off into a deep sleep. I dreamt of the future a
life filled of adventure with a young boy that I could call my own. Suddenly, there was a loud, blaring
sound coming from across the room. RING RING RING RING I rushed to see where the commotion
was coming from, it was my phone, there were five missed calls from Jedd. Sweat rushed to my
hands, he

peace and prosperity, after a great civil war has taken place and has also ravaged England. Richard
(Duke of Gloucester) opens with a soliloquy and he does so alone: Now is the winter of our
discontent/ Made glorious summer by this son of York: (1:1:1:2). W.H. Clemen identifies: ...Richard
contrasts this joyful time with the period of war which has just ended. (Clemen, 1957, 2). Richard
speaks about how the Yorkist side has won the war, the winter is described as events before the war
and the summer is the victory by the Yorkist king Edward. This soliloquy is a device used to identify
Richard s character, he focuses on his psychical appearance Cheated of feature by dissembling nature,/
Deformed, unfinished... (1:1:19:20). I am determined to prove a villain, (1:1:30). He speaks on his

Its role cannot be underestimated in the influence of current societal attitudes towards eating, body image paradigms and self esteem. • 3. Social Media And The Good Life Essay Deondre Bailey Professor Mulligan Heckler SPC1024 10 September 2016 Social Media Tweet that!! Post that pic on Instagram!! Slide in my DMs!!! Add me on Snapchat!!! These are the phrases our generation love to use when we try to interact with one another. Social media is a great way to open up opportunities and can assist us with getting our merchandise/business/art promoted or advertised for the world to see. However, there are numerous ways that social media can ruin people s reputation/careers/future in getting a job. Today I am going to provide the positive and negative features of social media. Social networks are successful because they offer widespread participation, but at the same time, they open their users up to unnecessarily dangerous exposure. (Herring, Mark Y.. Social Media and the Good Life: Do They Connect? Jefferson NC: McFarland, 2015. ProQuest ebrary. Web. 10 September 2016.). Social media (sometimes defined as social network/networks) can be used to promote your ideas. Promoting your ideas through social media is a great way your voice to be heard by millions of other users using the same social media you use every day. Promoting may get you discovered by celebrities/authors/people who are looking for good marketing. However, some ideas/opinions you choose to express may cause an uproar of cyberbullying and may cause negative attention to be directed towards you, which nobody wants to deal with. Communication is also a great advantage that social media ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Sonnet 73 By William Shakespeare The poem Sonnet 73 by William Shakespeare follows a typical Shakespearean sonnet structure; fourteen lines, three quatrains followed by a rhyming couplet, a basic ababcdcdefefgg rhyme scheme, and predominately following iambic pentameter with one additional unstressed syllable in the first line of each quatrain and the couplet. The sonnet as a whole is an extended metaphor for the aging and process and death; however, it is broken into three smaller metaphors all supporting the speaker s impending end of life through the process of aging. Natural aspects winter, twilight, and fire are presented as an extended metaphor for the the thematic undertone of aging and death. Nature alone is emblematic of the process of aging throughout one s life. Nature is always changing, just as humans are never the same in one second to the next. Humans are an outcome of natural processes. It is only right that the aging of the speaker be represented through natures own developments. The two work simultaneously to present the journey of the speaker towards an acceptance of his death and loss love. It is through natural cycles he realizes the only condition to living is death. The metaphor begins in quatrain one with the symbolism of winter. The coloring of the yellow leaves falling from the tree clue the reader into the seasonal time period. The speaker directly compares himself to winter when he says That time of year thou may st in me behold . He holds the season ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Diversity Reflection The implications and understandings developed in class were a gateway in applying it to real world work. Being given the opportunity to volunteer at The Continuum, I was able to understand the meaning of disability in the lives of others. I saw firsthand how access, knowledge, and care can transform a person s daily life in all aspects. With educative modules on assistive technology, culture and care, family issues, and many others, I was able to transform my perspective and practice what I am currently learning in the classroom. The Continuum provides a ReGenerations Adult Day Club for individuals who may deal with Alzheimer s disease, Dementia, Traumatic Brain Injuries, Stroke Recovery, Parkinson s disease, and M.S. . This program is fundamental in providing an array of different care, and I found it to be beneficial for more than just their members. Through my 15 hours of volunteer experience with The Continuum, I analyzed how a person s disability can be managed and addressed using a variety of techniques and methods, in caring for individuals. My first day volunteering had me nervous, but with an excited anticipation of being able to help others, while learning. I immediately assessed the location for how they incorporated accessibility in their framework, in regard to, the layout, doors, and general environment. It is interesting how once you are aware of something, it easily becomes incorporated in simple daily life. I was given a brief reading and quiz so that I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Most Common Internet Server Operating Systems Most Common Internet Server Operating Systems POS/355 Internet Servers (also commonly known as Web Servers), primarily function to deliver web pages on request to clients. When a user types a domain name into their browser, or clicks on a link, the request is first sent to a Domain Name Server (DNS). DNSs are servers that hold databases full of domain names and IP addresses. When a DNS receives a request, it matches the domain name (ie, www.CriketX.com) to the IP address of the server that holds all of the files that make up that particular website and sends that information back to the user s browser. The browser can then send a request for those files to the IP address of the web server (205.134.224.227 for www.CriketX.com). If ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... VB development tools as well as Access and MS SQL cannot be run on Linux servers, which is why Windows servers are a big hit with Microsoft technology fans. When it comes to system security, Windows web servers are more prone to attacks by hackers, but this also has more to do with administration than with the fact that it s running Windows (webdevelopersnotes.com). Also, Linux servers perform better under heavy traffic so, in the case of shared IP hosting where multiple sites are running on the same IP address, Linux is the better choice over Windows. Linux also offers more ways to connect. Windows offers FTP access and it s possible to configure telnet (if your hosting provider allows it) but Linux offers FTP, telnet, and ssh access. Linux servers are also more likely to offer CGI and Perl access, although some Windows servers do make it available. Both types of web servers offer server side scripting tools. When it comes down to choosing what operating system to use on a web server, or perhaps which hosting company to sign up with, these are all things that you need to take into consideration. In many cases, it s best to use Linux unless you have a specific reason not to. Many content management systems such as WordPress or Joomla use PHP and SQL which traditionally runs faster, and more reliably, on Linux systems, but can be run on Windows web servers as well. Samuel is a prophet of the Lord, and these initial chapters describe the story of how he was led to become a prophet. Samuel s parents were faithful believers. Hannah, Samuel s mother, was barren for a long period of time, which inflicted a tremendous amount of distress on her. One day Hannah decided to visit the temple to pray to the Lord. Eli, the temple priest prophesied to Hannah that her desires to bear a child will be answered. Comparison Between Different Enterprise Architecture... 4.1 Comparison of Different Enterprise Architecture Frameworks A number of EA frameworks exist in the industry with the goal of addressing the basic challenge of assessing, aligning, and organizing business objectives with technical requirements and strategies. The fight to remain as a candidate is vicious as there will only be a couple of candidates being chosen for the final round. • 12. Case Study Deere Company Deere Company Case Study 1. How strong are the competitive forces confronting Deere in the global market for agricultural and construction equipment? Supplier Power: Deere was able to keep its competition from driving supply chain prices up by being able to develop their own supply chains. The company opened manufacturing plants both domestically and internationally that were specifically designed to manufacture different parts. With these plants being Deere plants this has enabled the company to have no need to rely on external suppliers and has been able to rely on itself. Buyer Power: As of 2013 Deere Company owned the largest market share of agricultural and forestry equipment. The company has been able to create strong brand loyalty through the Deere color selection and the specific fit of all parts and pieces. Competitive Rivalry: It would appear that Deere Company has set itself apart from all potential competitors. They have created an extremely unique brand that has attracted consumers away from potential competitors and really has been able to put them in a segment of their own. Threat of Substitution: Their products and colors separate Deere from its competitors. The company has always looked to support farmers and owners of their equipment with the goal of making owners of other equipment wish that they had bought a Deere. Threat of New Entry: Overall there is not a great barrier to new entry but because of the stiff competition at the top new entrants have had struggles. 2. How have Deere s business strategy choices strengthened or weakened its competitive position in the agricultural and construction equipment industries? Deere Company since the beginning has always aimed to support owners of their equipment and to make owners of any other equipment wish that they had purchased a Deere instead. Their approach to business has truly set themselves apart from their competition and has left a strong impression on both their consumers and their competition. The fact that Deere since the beginning has always looked to produce the highest quality of equipment has positioned them at the top of the industry. This report will mainly argue against recommendation four. Choosing this prospect because one of the objectives of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is to protect consumers from being taken advantage of by other informed participants in the capital market. Among all the suggestions, disclosing different reports for different users has the most significant influence on investors and capital market. Then the information asymmetry problem and the instability of the security market ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Assuming public companies are allowed to distinguish classes of users, the decision relevant information could be split on the basis of different interests and somebody may take advantage of this loophole to provide fraudulent information for a favourable outcome in stock price. 2.2 Example of FFR According to the most resent report from Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE, 2008), from January 2006 to February 2008, among all types of frauds, FFR associated with largest average cost which was $258 million, while the second largest was $34 million. Furthermore, the study from KPMG (2003) and ACFE (2008) all agreed FFR is the least common but most costly fraud (Carcello and Hermanson, 2008). The estimated annual cost of FFR in USA is $1 trillion (ACFE, 2008), and this is just under the relaxed disclosure regulation, which is the Securities Offering Reform, issued in 2005 in America (Clinton et al., 2014). And FFR is certainly not limited to the United States (Zack, 2009). Hence, FCA considered FFR facts in US as a lesson and involved in a special project in 2010 in UK to examine fraud in public companies (Fisher et al., 2010). To conclude, recommendation four could increase the probability of FFR which could stimulate the stock price, and that will harm consumers and encourage the unhealthy competition in security market. ... • 14. The Negative Effects Of Violence In Television And Mass... With 59 dead and 527 injured, the Las Vegas shooting earlier this month was one of the deadliest mass shootings in American history. With no immediately apparent motive, it begs the question in people as to what might possess a person to go out and commit such a heinous crime. Indeed, the question has dogged the American populace ever since the invention of the modern mass shooting, and even before, attached to other senseless violent atrocities. Human brains are wired to look for causality in meaningless events as a survival mechanism, so they have a tendency to find it in places where it actually never existed in the first place. This is why violence in television and video games has come under fire in recent years as their influence expands, despite evidence that such phony violence does not beget real violence and may, in fact, be beneficial to a person s well being. Firstly, it should be noted that the studies people often cite when attempting to prove media violence has negative effects on behavior are flawed and inconsistent. In a review of publications on the subject conducted by psychologist Jonathan L. Freedman, he found that of the 2,500 publications, there were only 200 pieces of non duplicated research among them, stemming from places of varying scientific legitimacy. The ways in which many of these studies are conducted can lead to skewed results in favor of the hypothesis the researchers want to prove. When studying how violent media consumption affects play ... Businesses are feeling the difficulty to improve procurement and sourcing efficiency. The value that can be achieved through successful procurement practices is often a lot harder to achieve than many companies actually realize. If a company expects to grow and survive, it constantly needs to add value. Procurement is one area that has become a critical area of focus to create a more competitive and efficient supply chain. In the past, procurement was seen as insignificant to other areas of an organization. Fortune 500 companies like IBM, Dell, and Delta Air Lines are spending higher than 50% of their revenues on procurement. For a long time, procurement has been looked at as negotiating to get better prices. Many organizations still view procurement as a way to influence spending to get discounts and lower costs from their suppliers. However, sustainability and the supply chain risks that companies face today call for procurement to be different now. Organizations can see real savings by looking at total cost of ownership, which can include a lot of the end to end supply chain costs. Disruptions are unavoidable and every decision involved in the procurement process has a risk factor to it. In order for procurement to influence and affect a company it must present a business case that it is a value added function. An organization can add value long term with its ability of purchasing within procurement. Organizations need to stop short term thinking because of the high risk levels associated with this. Procurement decisions can add a lot of value to a company, but organizations need to think of the long term implications of their decisions. On average, a domesticated, indoor cat can live on average 14 16 years for a female and 12 14 for a male. In rare instances, some cats have lived to 20 30 years of age. An outdoor, household cat has a life span of almost ten years. Alternatively, a feral cat s lifespan is estimated to be only 3 4 years. A feral cat is a wild, undomesticated cat that lives outside and depends on its own devices for food, shelter, and protection. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An adult cat s coat will become coarser and thicker, and color may change from dark to light or vice versa. A cat s lifespan is dependent on several owner maintenance factors and genetics. Cats that are spayed or neutered and live indoors have the longest life expectancy. They are less likely to have tragic deaths caused by traffic accidents, fights with predators, or exposure to lethal chemicals and diseases. Providing a cat with a well balanced diet based on their individual needs will add years to their life. Regular vaccinations and veterinarian care will reduce the risk of feline diseases and can lead to early detection of health conditions. At one time, it was thought that a cat ages seven human years for each calendar year. This has been proven a misconception. A cat ages quickly the first two years of life and then age progresses slower in the years after. At one year of age, a cat is approximately 15 years old in human years. By the age of two, it has aged to 24 human years. Each of the following years the cat ages approximately four human years; therefore a five year old feline is equal to 36 years ... • 20. Pygmalion And Galatea And My Fair Lady Research Paper In today s world we are set to view that the opposite gender is becoming more of an equality view. We see that in today s society we are presented with the idea that women can do anything men can do. Yet in the myth of Pygmalion Galatea and the film My Fair Lady we are set forth to see the different views on the opposite gender and how gender criticism comes to life. Developing feelings is based on how we see the person, throughout we see both characters develop relationships based on how they create this person, each man forms new feelings and perception on women as they sculpt and create, their views on women are changed and the gender criticism views flip. Our society today has become more accepting with equality in gender. We are faced with having the opposite sex come out above us even with the disadvantages of paternity and having more emotions. Women are oppressed by patriarchy economically, politically, socially, and psychologically; patriarchal ideology is the primary means by which they are kept so. (Brizee). Women are seen as less of men due to their disadvantages such as birth and their emotions. Both characters don t really generate feelings for women because they are focused on themselves and are under the impression that women are all the same. Women have more psychological and primarily different logic than men hence the reason they generally make women out to be less than them. Back then women were viewed as less capable and not having the ability to do the things men can do. We are taught that now a days no matter what your gender is you can be anything you want. Feminist criticism concern itself with stereotypical representations of genders. It also may trace the history of relatively unknown or undervalued women writers, potentially earning them their rightful place within the literary canon, and helps create a climate in which women s creativity may be fully realized and appreciated. (Delahoyde). The stereotype that is known about females is that we represent a more delicate nature. Yet we see many women coming out on top and creating work that no man has done. Eventually women become more noticed and recognized for their efforts and creativity. In the myth Pygmalion ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The 1996 Education Act defines a child as having special educational needs (SEN) when they have a learning difficulty which calls for special educational provision to be made for them (section 312). This involves those who have greater difficulty learning and/or disabilities that prevent them from accessing educational facilities. This represents approximately 15.4% of pupils in schools in England (Department of Education, 2015). A key question that surrounds this area is whether it is better for these children to be included in mainstream schooling or whether they should be excluded (Warnock Norwich, 2010). Each field has its own doxa individual rules and conventions that one can then adopt (often unknowingly). According to the doxa, each person can be ascribed their legitimate position within the field (Bourdieu Eagleton, 1992). This can contribute to the habitus . At its simplest, habitus is who we are our internalised dispositions and practices which we act according to (Thomas Loxley, 2007). The habitus expresses itself in all situations of life, from bodily movements to conscious thoughts (Webb, Schirato, Danaher, 2002). These three concepts are mutually constituted and are what subsequently brings about inequalities. According to Bourdieu (1977), school s act as a social selector, they favour particular cultural capitals. He called this reproduction where a child s habitus fits with the doxa of a school, they have an advantage and are able to engage with school easier (Bourdieu Passeron, 1977), whilst excluding others, like SEN pupils. According to Bernstein (1973), social inequalities are transmitted through schools. He noted a clear communication difference between working and middle class children, which is then echoed in schools. Schools (often implicitly) adopt an educational code which effects everything from teacher student interactions to the teacher s control over learning. President Abraham Lincoln was born into poverty, failed twice as a business owner, lost over eight elections, and eventually suffered a nervous breakdown. President Lincoln exemplified the Graduate at Graduation: Open to Growth subgoal of seeking new opportunities, despite the possibility of risk. If President Lincoln did not have the courage to seek new change in his life for the better, knowing that he might fail, he never would have become president (Steinberg). Poetry presents a unique perspective on this concept of failure and the resulting path to success. Dental caries has been shown to have a negative impact on the quality of life, psychological and social aspects of children s lives. Fluoride is naturally present to some extent in all foods and water. Water fluoridation Is the adjustment of the natural concentration of fluoride in drinking water to the optimal recommended level for the prevention of dental caries. Fluoride plays a key role in preventing dental caries and works in two ways systemically and topically. As a topical effect; fluoride in saliva interacts with the minerals on the tooth surface to replace all the lost enamel and so prevents dental caries. Fluoride at an optimal level in the water supply provides the ideal, constant repair kit for teeth, as fluoride protects both developing (i.e. pre eruption) and erupted teeth against caries, it benefits individuals of all ages.
