Essay Beauty
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Essay Beauty" can be quite a challenging endeavor. The
concept of beauty is inherently subjective, encompassing a vast array of interpretations,
perspectives, and cultural influences. As a writer, navigating through these complexities requires
a delicate balance of introspection, research, and creative expression.
Firstly, one must grapple with the elusive nature of beauty itself. Its definition is fluid, evolving
across time and varying across different societies and individuals. This necessitates a deep
exploration of philosophical, psychological, and sociological perspectives to provide a
comprehensive understanding.
Furthermore, delving into the societal constructs of beauty unveils a myriad of issues such as
standards, stereotypes, and prejudices. Addressing these complexities demands a nuanced
approach, integrating critical analysis with empathy and awareness of diverse experiences.
Moreover, exploring the intersectionality of beauty with factors such as gender, race, and class
adds another layer of complexity. Unraveling the interconnectedness of these elements requires
sensitivity and a commitment to dismantling entrenched biases and inequalities.
Additionally, constructing an essay on such a broad and multifaceted topic requires diligent
research to draw from a wide range of sources, including scholarly articles, cultural texts, and
personal narratives. Synthesizing these diverse perspectives while maintaining coherence and
originality presents a formidable challenge.
Finally, translating these insights into a compelling narrative demands adept writing skills,
including clarity, coherence, and persuasive argumentation. Crafting an essay that engages
readers while navigating the complexities of beauty requires a deft touch and a keen
understanding of rhetorical strategies.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of "Essay Beauty" entails grappling with the
intricacies of a multifaceted and subjective concept, navigating through philosophical, societal,
and cultural complexities, and weaving together diverse perspectives into a cohesive narrative. It
is a task that demands intellectual rigor, empathy, and creativity.

Canada s Policies On Immigration With Foreign
Investments
Introduction Canada s housing market is at an all time high, they are known in
Vancouver for having the most expensive housing market. This expensive market is
not just a Vancouver problem, it is an issue growing throughout the nation and is
depriving the average citizen to be able to purchase a house in their lifetime. There
is a major issue with the state of the market and how it affects the current citizens.
Issues have been rising where the average wage in Vancouveris estimated at seventy
one thousand per family household, according to the Vancouver Sun (2014), yet
the average costing home as reached between five hundred thousand in the
municipality to over one million within Vancouver, according to articles by Beth
Lindsay (2015) of the Vancouver Sun, and Troy Landereville (2015) of The Maple
Ridge Times. This paper will argue that Canada needs to change its policies on
immigration with foreign investments in order to solve the rising issue with
housing prices that are not affordable to the average citizen and to reclaim lost
revenue. Issues should be seen as foreign investments, tax dodging, and how the
system is being abused. The paper will begin with looking at the current market
within Vancouver and how it has changed to show the problem at its worst case
scenario that Canada is facing with its cost of housing. The paper will look at how
immigration has caused a massive effect on the market and how it will spread from
the more major cities into other
Leaders Should Be A Successful Leader
Gary Yukl (2006) defines leadership as the process of influencing others to
understand and agree about what needs to be done and how to do it, and the
process of facilitating individual and collective efforts to accomplish shared
objectives. (Educational leadership: A reference handbook 2002) A leader needs to
take control of its employees in a workplace. They should be a trusted person, and
also be a people person. Without communication, effective leadershipwill become a
failure, due to the fact that nobody will understand what is going on in the work
place. Goal setting for leaders is one of the most important factors, as they want to
become a successful leader, by achieving goals for the organisation, for that to
become successful as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

truly drives voters to go to the polls every four years. American s face many issues

thing: EPA Regulation and coal. Coal has been seen as a main source of energy in
multiple states such as Kentucky, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. During the past

unnecessary EPA regulations stated within the following quote The current

Case Study Assignment: Calvin Klein vs. Warnaco Group Inc.
On May 30, 2000 The Calvin Klein family filed a lawsuit against Warnaco Group Inc
for eighteen counts of trademark infringement, trademark dilution and intentional
misrepresentation. Nearly a month later Warnaco answered with a counter suit,
denying the major allegations and justifying the dilution to falling within the scope of
the two parities licensing agreement. The case study brings forth information
regarding fashion retailing, distribution practices and even the licensing practices
expected within the marketplace, however as a reader one should keep in mind that

This mutual understanding is what was portrayed within an agreement between the
two parties and what worked toward success over the next forty years. This case study
touches on many topics within licensing but the three most dominant aspects within
the Warnaco Groupvs. Calvin Klein suit are the agreements and understandings
discussed with a contract, the rights to a trademark and the rights of both the
licensor and the licensee. While briefing this case study one can not help but notice,
stated on page 21, the agreements that are displayed in exhibit 1: Excerpts from
Calvin Klein Jeanswear Licensing Agreement. Here it is clear that the agreement,
signed by BOTH parties, states that Warnaco agrees to maximize the quantity of
Articles sold, and will be consistent with CKI s past practices. One can assume, that
due to the prolonged history between the two parties this includes Costco, Sam s
Club and BJs store, which alone were held responsible for 150 million dollars in
warehouse sales, just one year prior to the filing of the lawsuit. It is also important to
point out that this licensing agreement is not with CKI as the owner, it is in fact a
licensing agreement with the CK Trademark Trust being the beneficial owner to ALL
rights, titles and interest in or to the Licensed Mark. The licensing agreement then
continues to state that Warnaco controls any such act or thing which may cause any
affect to the Trust. With the understanding of licensing,

Nurses have explored the idea of using robots to increase the quality of care that is

The Causes Of World War II
The Causes of World War II:
The seeds of world war II lies in the instability created by world war I. particularly
the instability in Germany in the economic and political conditions due to the
harshness of the Versailles treaty and as a result the rise of Adolf Hitler and his Nazi
party
The effects of the treaty of Versailles:
The treaty of Versailles harshness was one of the main causes for the outbreak of
World War II. It began in 1919 when Lloyd George of England, Orlando of Italy,
Clemenceau of France and Woodrow Wilson from the US met to discuss how
Germany will pay for the devastation it cause in World War II. Woodrow Wilson
wanted a treaty based on his 14 point hoping that this will bring peace to Europe.

In 1934 he increased the size of the army and the military service became

behave against it because they were concerned about the spread of communism in
Europe and they thought that if Germany became strong. It will be able to prevent
the spread of communism. Hitler also made two major alliances during 1936. The
first was called the Rome Berlin Axis Pact and with Mussolini s Italy. The second
was called the Anti Comitern Pact with Japan. Hitler s plan was to take back all the
territories that had been taken away from Germany. In March 1938, German forces

Using Journals Effectively in Classrooms Essay
Using Journals Effectively in Classrooms
Journal writing seems to be a popular element teachers use to give students the
opportunity to become involved in the classroom without always speaking. However,
is journal writing a beneficial tool for student learning? How can it become more
effective in the classroom? There are many types of journals which can be used in a
classroom. I have decided to look at the different types of journals that exist to gain a
broad overview of journal usage. This is to help me decide what the most effective
journal for this classroom would be.
First, let us look at what journal writing is. Journal writing is a method to provide
students with an alternate way of expression. It promotes individual ... Show more

Journals are also a way for students to express ideas without feeling pressure to
respond in a certain manner in order to receive a good grade.
Along with the freedom to express thoughts and concerns, a journal also can
provide the freedom in which you express these thoughts and concerns. Journals
are considered an artist s notebook. Journal entries are normally done by using
words, however there is a move to allow students to use photographs, drawings,
paintings, or any creative way the student may choose to express themselves.
According to Teaching Writing written by Gail Tompkins, the purpose of journal
writing is for students to use journals to 1) record personal experiences, 2) explore
reactions and interpretations, and 3) record and analyze information. These criteria
or aspects can be applied to any and all disciplines. I think that the most important
place to include journal wrtiting is in the English classroom. This is where writing
begins to take shape. Since it such a vital aspect of everyday life, students should
feel comfortable expressing themselves and should have the means to do so. Journals
allow students the opportunity to visual express themselves and to see their ideas on

Reflective Beliefs Of AquinasTeaching On The Eucharist
Aquinas teaching on the Eucharist has offered many new and distinctive insights
to me. One of these insights is when Aquinas asks the question whether one should
distinguish the two ways of eating Christ s body. The two ways are spiritually and
sacramentally. His opponents argue there is no need to and I thought the same as
well, because eating the bread and drinking the wine would encompass both.
However, after reading Aquinas I answer , it became clear to me that there is a
twofold division between the sacrament itself and the effect of it. An example my
professor gave is if a mouse ate some bread and wine. The mouse is not mindful and
because of that, it only participated in the physical aspect of the Eucharist, but not
with its effect. You must be mindful to appreciate the symbols of bread and wine or
there will be more harm than good if you are not attentive of what God is doing. A
quote from Aquinas that helped me understand this better is when he says, but the
sacramental eating that does not secure the effect is contrasted with spiritual eating,
just as the imperfect, which does not attain perfection of its species, is contrasted
with the perfect (ST 3.80.1). What he means by this is that just by merely
participating in the sacrament alone without the effect is like doing something in an
imperfect way. The perfect way of doing this is by complete eating, which is
receiving both the visible and invisible effects. Aquinas also offers some strong
arguments against
Essay on Substance Abuse and the Elderly
The purpose of this paper is to determine the level of substance abuse in the elderly
community. There is concern that as the population ages in the United States, there
will be a significant increase in the number of older adults being treated for substance
abuse problems. This paper seeks to understand the issues and concerns that are
consequently involved with substance abuse among the elderly.
There is no doubt that there is a prevalence of substance abuse throughout several age
groups. To a certain extent, a society is faced with the reality of controlling substance
abuse. Or allow it run rampant throughout the community. Often times, we hear and
read about the level of substance abuse among teen, young adults and mid aged ...

Physicians for elderly patients lack communication with each other. If the physicians
lack high level communication, then prescribed medicines may have an adverse
effect on the elderly. The elderly, often times, have cognitive problems, which makes
it difficult for the elderly to understand instructions for prescriptions. This can cause a
serious issue in this particular population.
It can be determined that the elderly seldom get drugs illicitly. As stated earlier, they
usually get drugs by seeing multiple doctors. In addition to this, they stockpile
prescribed medications over time, or getting medications from family members. This
only contributes to the problems of the elderly. Often times, family members are
reluctant to address the issues their elderly family member face.
Although substance abuse among the elderly, like alcohol is low considered
compared to the general population, its prevalence is still high. A study showed the
prevalence of alcohol related problems ranged from 1.4% to 22% (Adams, et al.,
1993). It can be understood that the level of alcohol related problems diminishes as
an individual ages.
Reports of substance abuse among this age group are considered under reported. It
can be understood that the elderly are the unseen components of society. Often times,
the elderly are marginalized and subjected to the realities of old age. Society seems to
shy away from the elderly. This

Unfortunately this lifestyle could only last so long and so at only four years old the

The Physical Values Of Roger Federer And Ray Ban
Like Roger Federer, they are veterans in their designated field. Simply put, both
Federer and Ray Ban are timeless classics. Federer is arguably one of the most
attractive men in all of sports. Of course this highly relates to his great physical
shape and facial features, but it is also about his class, humbleness, and charm. As
mentioned in the audit chart, Federer is considered a great philanthropist as he has
helped many people around the world and even has his own foundation. In many
ways, he can be thought of as the perfect gentleman . The perfect complimenting
accessory for an attractive gentleman such as himself is a classic pair of aviator Ray
Ban sunglasses.
Of course, attractiveness is only one part of this equation. As mentioned previously,
trustworthiness may be more important for actual purchase persuasiveness. Federer s
credibility adds tremendously to his trustworthiness. He may not have won a grand
slam title in 2015 or 2016 but he was still ranked in the top 3 in the world, and has a
great tract record that has proven his ability to still compete and dominate. When
Federer chooses a brand of sunglasses to wear, consumers can be confident in his
choice. Much like Federer, Ray Ban does not have to prove the value of their
product. They have both been around for a long time, and understand what it means
to be great.
Another major reason for I would propose this sponsorship is due to Federer
apparently not currently having a sunglasses sponsor. He has some
Brief Bio of The Stooges
When you think of The Stooges what s the first thought that pops into your head?
Probably a 50 year old, prune like, Iggy Pop running around like a mad yoke to the
video for Lust For Life from the Trainspotting soundtrack. That s okay. I m here to
tell you about the original Proto Punk (a nascent predecessor of punk) band, the
intense, raucous and truly bizarre, The Stooges. Without this band would rock music
have turned out the same way we know it? Would the evolution of punk vary from
what we now know it? Many artists credit The Stooges as an influence to them,
whether they were punk artists or artists that adopted the punk ethos, artists such as
The Sex Pistols, Nirvana, David Bowie, Kiss, The Clash and many, many more. The
Stooges staggering live shows were explosive, frightening and unforgettable, never
failing to make an impression, leaving audiences in a daze. With songs about sex,
working class alienation, self loathing and the commonality of the current
consciousness , I believe the stooges truly were ahead of their time. Iggy Pophas
stated his and the Stooges music to be a Dionysian art form , in that it is based on

The Star Crossed Walkman Lovers
True love is so rare, treasured, and ridiculed, that despite the fact that most people
know that it is almost never found, they still are brave and desperate enough to try.
While reading Romeo and Juliet, Eleanor commented, It was oh my God, he s so
cute at first sight. If Shakespeare wanted you to believe they were in love, he wouldn t
tell you in almost the very first scene that Romeo was hung up on Rosaline ... It s
Shakespeare making fun of love (44). In Omaha, Nebraska, a love story sprouts
between two misfits who fit perfectly with each other. It was 1986 when Park
Sheridan and Eleanor Douglas first met. Both 16 year olds were the same, yet so
different. Eleanor came from a broken family, while Park came from the complete
opposite. They were bound together and torn apart by their love for each other.
Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell brings to light that true love cannot be
measured by the amount of time spent with the other person, but rather the ability of
their love to withstand the lack of family acceptance, isolation, and societal influence.
Ultimately, Eleanor and Park s romance was sweet and worthwhile only because of
the difficulties they faced together.
Despite the weariness of both Eleanor and Park s families about their newfound
relationship, the two star crossed lovers persevered and were rewarded with a
Romeo and Juliet style love, but without the deaths. Richie was Eleanor s verbally
and physically abusive, pedophilic

Analysis Of Only Daughter By Sandra Cisneros
N.O is a song that s been written, preformed, and sung by BTS. Their video was
released on September 10, 2013: just a few months after their debut. It shows the
struggles students face in society and that they try to fit in, and yet they discover that
there s more that they can achieve. Another story that shows a similar content is
titled, Only Daughter by Sandra Cisneros. It is a storyabout a girl with six brothers
yet tells herself that the is an only daughter. Cisneros has had hardships of her own
when she was growing up with her familybecause she thought the wasn t being
recognized by her father as much.
Cisneros has three major themes in her story: such as relationships with parents,
terms of approval, and the perspectives people have of a woman s role. The
relationship with her father is that it was non existent, she tried to get her father to
acknowledge her, yet he wouldn t. All her father did was encourage her to go to
college and find a husband. She is there to please her new found husband; however
this leads her to introduce herself that she is the only daughter and only a daughter
(Pg. 401). Whether she meant it sarcastically or ironically.
Despite being shown any attention for her writing, Cineros shows a great deal of
determination without encouragement from her father. She tells us that we may not
receive support from those that we care about, yet we can still reach our goal. She
reaches out to those who have been or feel neglected by society. Or

Three distinct layers compose the culture of any organization. Observable artifacts
make up the first layer. Artifacts are the physical manifestations of an organization

David Bowie Essay
David Bowie, at 69, has shuffled off his mortal coil but leaves behind a vast corpus
of spaced out movies and songs. Bowie really was a man ahead of his time, and at
times so far removed from the mundane that he seemed to be from another world.
The extraterrestrial was, of course, an image he sought to cultivate. But his interest in
things paranormal was sincere and consistent throughout his lifetime. Since
childhood, Bowie was an avid fan of science fiction and maintained a belief in the
existence of extraterrestrials. Bowie s fascination with aliens was in full swing when,
as a teenager, he helped publish a UFO newsletter with friends. At that time, around
1967, he had many sightings of alien craft in the skies, telling Timothy Beckley They

Analysis Of The Poem Adrienne Rich
Women had little resources to escape an unhappy or abusive marriage during the
nineteen fifties. Most just learned to deal with it behind their closed doors in
silence. During this time the divorce rate, according to an article published in 1973
by the National Center for Health Statistics , was at twenty five percent. (Plateris).
Most women did not have the luxury of getting one due to the fact that most
husbands of that time had control of the household finances, not to mention that it
was a costly venture. Some marriages struggled with spousal abuse as well; be it
emotional or physical yet domestic violence at this time was something that people
really did not talk about, nor were there the resources for victims that we have today.
In this haunting poem, Adrienne Rich uses symbolism to paint a picture of a scared,
and lonely woman as she creates this tapestry of Tigers being hunted, in a colorful
landscape, while she is pondering her relationship between her and her spouse.
The author starts the poem in a quiet manner with the character Aunt Jennifer sitting
peaceably weaving a tapestry of majestic Tigers being hunted. With bright colors in
the first stanza, Bright topaz denizens of a world of green, (line 2) Topaz is a gem
that has a wide color range that includes brown, blue, green, yellow, orange, red,
pink and purple but the definition of it states that a true Topaz is colorless. Denizens
means a place or places so the author s meaning is, in a sense
Studies Seem To Confirm It
Addiction is a complex issue that has multiple influences, including intelligence.
Many specialists have considered the connection between addiction and intelligence,
trying to gauge how they are related. The results of various studies have been
surprising: high intelligence has been more commonly linked to addiction rather than
low intelligence. But why?
Studies Seem To Confirm It
The troubling connection between intelligence and addiction has been highly studied
and two recent studies seem to confirm the link between the two. The first of these
studies was published in 2011 and found that children in 1970 who tested highly on
IQ tests were subsequently more likely to abuse drugs later in life.
Specifically, the study found that men who had a mean IQ score of 109 (the highest
in the study) were trying drugs much earlier and also used drugs more frequently than
those who tested with an IQ of 100. Although the numbers were slightly different for
women (regarding both IQ and drug use), they paralleled the results found in the
males.
The second study, published in 2012, studied children born in 1958. What they
found was very similar to the first study, but with more precise results: they found
that an increase of one standard deviation in IQ almost exponentially increased
addiction risk. Although the exact percentages weren t released, the results of these
studies are greatly troubling for people looking for a way to stem the tide of addiction.

The Treaty Of The European Union
On Thursday, June 23rd, 2016, the United Kingdom invoked Article 50 of the Treaty
of the European Union and voted to whether or not to leave the European Union. This
June 2016 referendum, which is most commonly known as Brexit, had the largest
voter turnout in the United Kingdom since the 1992 General Election, roughly 33.5
million voters. The referendum resulted fifty two percent in favor of leaving the
European Union. The separation process is difficult. By just agreeing to the
negotiations to separate from the European Union, there has been significant political
and economic impacts affecting the United Kingdomand the rest of the world. The
day following the vote that favored leaving the European Union, the Pound, Britain s
currency, went from $1.50 to $1.28, the lowest it s been in over three decades
(Kottasova). In an effort to not deal with the EU negotiations, David Cameron, the
United Kingdom s Prime Minister, resigned from his position on July 13th,
effectively ending his six year holding on the position. Brexit is an example of when
nationalism and frustration mix together and motivates a society to make a decision
possible which was unforeseeable prior. It can be deduced that the three contributing
factors to the success of the Brexit vote are Economics, Nationalism, and Political
Elitism. Understanding the history of the relationships between the European Union,
political parties in the United Kingdom, and the citizen of the United Kingdom.

Servant Leadership In Nonprofit Organizations
Servant leadership is best know for placing the needs and wants of others above
those of the leader; this helps to create a trusting and empowered team of followers to
help organizations reach their goals (Mahembe Engelbrecht, 2014). The servant
leadership model is able to help nonprofit organizations gain a competitive advantage
in ways that are not necessarily profit driven, such as improving employee satisfaction
and commitment to the organization (Center for Servant Leadership, n.d.). The
improvement of employee satisfaction has been linked to improved customer
satisfaction, which helps to build support for the organization (Center for Servant
Leadership, n.d.).
The value that nonprofit organizations bring to the community is professionally
appealing to me. I am currently working at a nonprofit, rural hospital and clinic
system as a registered nurse and health coach. The organization is able to obtain
payments from various insurance companies however, they do not obtain funding
from tax sources (GRMC, n.d.). Instead of raising the rates for the services offered,
the organization holds fundraisers to help fund the various projects in the community
(GRMC Donate, n.d.). The hospital also has money that is available through
donations to help individuals who are experiencing financial hardship due to illness.

Ancient Medicine And Western Medicine
Since the beginning of civilization healing has been influenced by many different
issues, such as religion, politics of the time, different philosophies, and vested
interest such as money. There has been conflicts between Eastern and WEstern
medicine for a long time. Eastern medicine is viewed by many people in the West
as having no validity and makes little sense to those who view the body in parts
and pieces. Eastern medicine has long viewed the body as mind, body, and spirit
as one entity. To understand the ideas of Eastern and Western medicines the
history of each has to be taken into consideration. Very often when we think of the
evolution of medicine, or as we refer to it as Western Medicine, we think as far
back as 2000 year ago with Galen in Rome or perhaps 2500 years ago with
Hippocrates in Greece. We often sit back and think of how ancient that was... and
how primitive that must have been (Grozs). Hippocrates, a physician in Greece,
believed in scientific reasoning and the power of healing. His belief continued until
the 19th century for 2,300 years. During the second century Galan, another Greek
physician, was the first to promote the key to healing and soon every health problem
was fit into a classification as it is today. His ways were strict, and only doctors had
access to the healing knowledge (everygreenherb). During the dark ages natural
healing was embraced once more. The Arabs brought alchemy and pharmacy into
Western medicine. They introduced new
Theme Of Alienation In Metamorphosis
How the theme of Alienation is demonstrated in metamorphosis through the
mediums of situation, setting and relationships? In the Metamorphosis, Franz
Kafka reflects upon past experiences of his personal life, both mentally and
physically, to help create Gregor s life. Kafka throughout the novel talks about the
relationship between Gregor and his family which is in many ways similar to that
of Kafka. From Kafka s early childhood, we can understand that he also suffered
with the aspects of alienation and to a greater extent from his father Hermann.
Furthermore, the theme of alienation in metamorphosis will be elaborated on
through situation, setting and the familial relationships, Gregor experiences. The
first passage of the book refers to the dehumanisation of Gregor, who all of a
sudden wakes up and finds himself transformed into an insect and it is this
dehumanisation that sets the scene for the rest of the story. The scene that is being
set out is random and paves the way for the rest of novel to follow on to the theme
of alienation in the most random of situations. As Gregor Samsa awoke one morning
from uneasy dreams he found himself transformed into a gigantic insect (p.9). The
first passage reflects on how Gregor undergoes a physical transformation from
human to an insect. Despite this change in appearance, he maintains his state of
mind and memories. Whilst maintaining his mental abilities, it is his change in
appearance that causes his family to turn a blind eye and results in Gregor dying.
The situation that is being presented to the reader is a theme that arises at the
beginning of the novel is that of randomness. The protagonist, Gregor, cannot begin
to comprehend the situation that has occurred. Early in the book, Gregor cannot
understand what is happening and states What has happened to me? [...] It was no
dream (p.9). This suggests to the reader that was is happening is real but remains
random to the reader. Furthermore, this allows the reader to question the situation
that is at hand so early on in the novel. All of this drama unfolds in Gregors room in
private. The setting for Gregors alienation is within the confines of his room. It is
where most of the novel takes place, and
United Airlines And Merger With Continental Airlines Essay
ABSTRACT
UAL Corp. s United Airlines announced merger with Continental Airlines Inc. on
May 3, 2010 and became the world s largest airline. This $3 billion merger between
the two airline companies lifted the beigest regulatory hurdle ever in the international
aviation sector. In this paper, I will review through the timeline that covers from the
announcement of the merger to the completion with major milestones noted and what
role the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) was playing in this merger.
TIMELINE
June 2008:CEOs of both United Airlines and Continental Airlinessigned and alliance
pact. The alliance is an agreement to link international networks and share technology
and passenger perks. This agreement is basically a virtual merger that includes many
of the benefits of a merger without the actual costs and restructuring involved. The
alliance took effect about a year after Delta Air Lines and Northwest Airlines
completed their merger, as that released Continental from the SkyTeam contract and
allowed for the required nine month notice. Additionally, Continental joined the Star
Alliance, as Delta and Northwest merged.
April 2010:United Airlines was reported to be in serious merger discussion with US
Airways.
May 2, 2010:The board of Directors at Continental and United Airlines approved a
stock swap deal that would combine them into the world s largest airline. Both

Dental Implant Procedure
An Overview Of Two Procedures For Dental Implant Bone Augmentation
If you lost a tooth due to gum disease, trauma, or cavities, it can eventually cause
bone loss in the area of the missing tooth. This will make getting dental implants
complicated, because your jawbone will lack the proper amount of bone depth and
width required to support your new implant. When this happens, a dentist will need to
perform a bone augmentation procedure. It will help add stability to what will
eventually be the foundation for your dental implant and the false tooth that attaches
to it.
A dentist will recommend the best procedure for bone augmentation based on your
personal situation. Here is an overview of two procedures that your dentist will

Forgiveness Essay
Forgiveness
Christ Jesus some two thousand years ago came into this world to bring redemption
for our sins. He did this through his death and resurrection, or what we refer to as the
pascal mystery. We still encounter the saving presence of the
Lord in the sacraments and in the Word. In each and every sacrament we come face
to face with quot;the grace of God our Savior quot; (Titus 2:11). It is this redemption
of sins aspect of the sacraments that I will be examine. In the past couple of century
we have focused are attention primarily on the Sacrament of Penance as the means to
obtain forgiveness of sins after Baptism. We have come to focus on it so much that it
has come to be, for most Catholics, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the second and up to the sixth century A.D. a Christian could only receive the
Sacrament of Penance once after Baptism. The penitent would have to first confess
before his or her bishop. The penitent would then be required to participate in the
quot;order of penitents quot; of the early Church. This required the penitent to wear
special clothes, and the penitent would have to go to a special place with other
penitents when worshipping with the community. The community would pray for
those in the quot;order of penitents quot; during the worship serves, and the bishop
would lay his hands on the penitents. But this laying on of hands did not take on the
character of absolution until it was done during the worship serves on Thursday of
Holy Week. The penitents were not allowed to receive
Eucharist because the penitents were excommunicated, excluded from Communion.
After a period of probation, prescribed by the bishop, the penitent would be
absolved of the sins the individual committed. The bishop would do this by laying
his hands on the penitent. The typical time for this reconciliation to take place was
on Thursday of Holy Week before the Baptisms took place. The reason it was done at
this time was because the early Church believed that both
Baptism and Penance were both sacraments that brought about forgiveness of sins
and that they should be prepared for at the same time. It was just this type
Advancement In Animation Essay
Advances in Animation and Their Effects on Modern Cinema Animation has been a
huge contributor to today s media when it comes to movies and televisions
programing. For decades, using a series of images to create the illusion of movement,
has evolved into billion dollar industries for entertainment. Animated movies are in a
completely different league of their own and, no matter how simple they may seem,
require a sufficient amount of technique as well as technology. Even live action
movies use some form of animationin order to create worlds that could have never
been possible without technology. This form of entertainment has shaped standards

They both have their place in modern media, and they both have their own
attributes. In order to fully understand the magnitude of how much of a gap in
popularity there is between these two different techniques in animating there must
be clear statistics that show proof how these movies fair in the box offices. For
instance, take a look at Disney s Princess and the Frog which was a traditionally
animated film. It had done well when it came to what movie critics had to say
about it, however, it failed in comparison to Pixar at the box office with a return of
only $267million (Child n.p). The newest adaption to Winnie the Pooh also
received wonderful reviews from critics but was only able to bring in $33million
worldwide (Child n.p). Take these two movies and compare them to Bolt (2009)
and Tangled (2010) which grossed $310million and $590million individually (Child
n.p). That doesn t necessarily make Princess and the Frog and Winnie the Pooh bad
movies; critics seemed to think they were just fine. However there is a clear gap
between the money made by the CGI films and the hand drawn films. Furthermore,
the matter of whether or not they were both made by different companies is of the
question seeing as how all four films were produced by Disney. Traditional animation
, using hand drawn images, has been successful for many decades and

Social Work has advanced through welfare policies and programs with significant

By the end of 1860, it was becoming apparent that outdoor relief was draining
community resources as poverty increased throughout the United Kingdom and
other forms of support were needing to be created as people were becoming aware
that it was not just a case of the poor seeking relief because of their character, but
more so of the conditions they were living in (Dulmus amp; Sowers, 2012).
The settlement movement became another key feature in establishing Social Workin
a bid for society to focus on the causes of poverty rather than the individual. This

Neighbourhood based houses were established in a bid to bring people together
from different socio economic and cultural backgrounds to share knowledge, skills

establishing support housing in London for the poor and organising groups and
activities. Octavia strongly believed that we were to help the poor help themselves
by empowering people with rights to encourage responsibility (Smith, 2008).
Settlement houses soon established the first by Samuel and Henrietta Barnett in 1884

Karl Marx And The Communist Manifesto
In the Communist Manifesto, a document that first proclaimed the ideology of
communism itself, Marx declared that the history of all hitherto existing society is
the history of class struggles (Marx, Karl and Frederick Engels). As a man who
spurred resentment of governments and inspired revolutionaries, Karl Marxis often
regarded as a man who led to the rise of 20th century tyrannical dictators such as
Stalin and Mao to take power. His ideas are regarded as failures and, by some, are
seen as pure evil. However, the ideas of Marx were not evil and did not solely bring
about the rise of dictators. Rather, Karl Marx dedicated his life to bring economic
equality to Europe and wanted to bring an end to the corrupt inequality that the...

His father, a Rabbi, had turned away from Judaism, for the family was living in a
predominantly Protestant area that was discriminatory against the Jewish people,

immense impact on his life. He was born bourgeois Jew who turned from his faith,
argued for socialist values, and eventually died penniless and nearly friendless. As a
result of his upbringing, Marx was able to be educated on the ideas of socialism, for
he lived in a wealthy family and was able to attend college. His father s religious
switch from Judaism to Christianity not only turned him away from Judaism, but
ended up preventing Marx from becoming a Rabbi himself. The nurturing, more
father like, nature of his father in law prompted Marx to pursue knowledge and
growth over religious ideas or social etiquette. His childhood was the mold that
shaped Karl Marx into the man he would become.
Marx s contact with Hegelian philosophy in college changed his perception on
social and economic classes in society and inspired him to pursue the idea of
socialism further in college despite his father s wishes. While in college, Marx had
begun studying law and had planned to become a lawyer. At the University, there
were many who had preached the ideas of Hegel, but Marx turned away at first, not
wanting to lose his father s support and funding

A forced landing was subsequently made in a field, where the airplane collided with
a utility pole and landed in a ditch. An examination of the engine revealed no
evidence of mechanical failure or malfunction. An icing probability chart revealed
that the reported weather conditions in the area were favorable for the formation of
moderate carburetor icing at cruise power. The Cessna 172M owner s manual notes
that a gradual loss in rpm and eventual engine roughness may result from the
formation of carburetor ice and prescribes the use of carburetor heat to clear the ice.
(Civil Aviation Authority, 2006).
Structural Icing: The previous report refers to induction icing within the engine, but
other forms of icing attach to the exterior of the aircraft called structural icing .

clouds or liquid precipitation when the skin temperature of the aircraft is equal to, or
less than 0 deg C (Lester, 2004).
Types of Structural Icing: Structural icing takes on many forms depending on the
size of the moisture that comes in contact with the aircraft. The types of structural
ice are clear, rime and a combination of the two. The primary concern over even the
slightest amount of structural ice is the loss of aerodynamic efficiency. The increase
in drag caused by the additional ice also causes an increase in stall speed, instability
and a decrease in
Analysis Of Goodbye Earl
From their Grammy award winning album Fly, Goodbye Earl was a track that led
to much controversy. The overall theme of the song concerned domestic violence.
By using Kenneth Burke s Pentad, otherwise known as dramatism, one will be
able to find the concept of motive from the characters involved and their actions.
There are five elements to the pentad: agent, act, scene, agency and purpose. The
pentad is necessary when trying to develop an argument, as it can produce several
possibilities that can have relation to each other. In Goodbye Earl , the agents
would be best friends Wanda and Mary Anne. These are the main characters that
are involved in the act of the situation. The act explains what happened or what the
exact action was. In this case, Wanda and Mary Anne s act was to kill Mary Anne s
husband Earl. The scene is the background situation or the drama that lead up to
the act being committed. After high school graduation, Mary Anne gets married to
a man named Earl and soon after he began abusing her. She files for divorce and a
restraining order, but the legal system does not keep him from harming her and she
ends up in intensive care. This would lead to the question of agency, or how the
agents act and with what means. After Mary Anne recovers, she flies out to Atlanta
to confide in Wanda and they create a plan together to kill Earl by the means of
poison. Why do they kill Earl? It is safe to assume that their purpose, the 5th element
of the pentad, was
Boy21, By Matthew Quick
Boy21, written by Matthew Quick is a book about a kid named Finley that has a
love for basketball. He has played the game ever since his mothers murdering and
he would do anything to play basketball. But, then something drastic changes him
forever. A boy by the name of Russ Washington comes to his city to live with his
grandparents. Russ is a nationally recruited basketball but he was no interest after
the murdering of his parents. Finley s job is to look after Russ and to persuade
him to play basketball again. But, there is one catch. Russ plays the same position
as Finley and wears the same number. That would mean that Finley would be the
odd one out. Finley still helps Russ knowing what it feels like to have a loved one
murdered. Because... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So, when he is in a game one would assume that he would stay at the game. But,
not when Erin is in trouble. I stride past the opposing team to pop and dad. I should
to the hospital, dad. Finley left his game to see Erin. By doing that he lost his spot
on the team that he worked some hard to get. All of the hours that he spent training
meant nothing to him at that moment. All that mattered to him was Erin. Finley s
earliest memories were him playing basketball in his backyard. But, he still
decided to go see Erin. He knew that it was the right choice to comfort her after her
accident. He knew that Erin would be scared about her future and would need
someone significant in her life to be there and help her; and if that meant losing
his spot on the team then so be it. Furthermore, after he saw Erin he missed practice
and school to see her again, day after day. That is what ultimately lost his spot on
the team. Even after Erin was not allowed to see Finley in the hospital anymore
that didn t stop him. Finley cared so much about Erin and wanted to know what
happened to her after she left Bellmont without a trace. He cared so much that he
went into one of the most feared pubs in all of Bellmont to get answers regarding
Erin s location. Finley would have been easily murdered if it wasn t for one of his
father s close friends who happened to be inside of the bar. Finley is always making
sure to care and show kindness to people regardless of anything else

Mr. Browns Dilemma
Good Morning Mr. Brown, my name is Mona and I am a physician s assistant.
Thank you for coming in to meet with me today. Today I ll be going over your
recent lab work along with the results. The last time you were in to see the doctor
he ordered testing for you that is known as a lipid panel or a cholesterol panel. A lipid
panel is done to measure four main things which are your cholesterol, triglycerides,
HDL, and LDL
I will now tell you a little about your results and explain what your results mean for
your health. You may feel free to ask any questions to gain clarification of anything
that you may not understand. First I will discuss your Triglyceride level results, I
want to explain to you exactly what triglycerides are before giving you your
personal result. Triglycerides are a type of fat (lipid) found in your blood. Whenever
you eat something your body automatically turns any calories it feels is unnecessary
for you to have into triglycerides.
The triglycerides are then stored in your fat cells, and later on the hormones in your
body will set free triglycerides to be used as energy for you in between your meals.
Your triglyceride level result is 145 mg/dl which is good. A normal triglyceride level
is considered to be Less than 150 milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL). Both
Triglycerides and cholesterol are separate types
I Have The Pleasure Of Volunteering My Service At Bilal...
Over the past semester, I have had the pleasure of volunteering my services to Bilal
Oromo Dawa Center in Fridley, Minnesota as a tutor and person of influence to
children ages 6 18. Bilal Oromo Dawa Center s (BODC) mission statement is as
follows: Bilal Oromo Dawa Center is a charitable, religious, social, cultural,
educational nonprofit organization dedicated to serve the Muslim community. As I
have come to find out, BODC is a community center that offers many different
services for all its community members. The services range from tutoring services,
weekend school for Islamic studies, funeral services, Friday congregational prayers,
family and marriage counseling, youth sports, and general community services.
BODC is a relatively new organization; however, they stem from Tawfiq Islamic
Center in North Minneapolis. Tawfiq Islamic Center (TIC) has been open to the
community since 2004 and is still open. TIC and BODC share a similar community
member base and actively cooperate to better the community.
I have been aware of TIC since it was opened on inaugural day and practically grew
up in that facility as I attended practically every event they have set up. I attended
weekend school during my adolescence, and I eventually became a teacher s
assistant for the program. It would be an understatement to say that I always felt
indebted to the community for playing a large role in my childhood. I continued to
teach Arabic and Islamic studies there for a couple of years before
My Virtual Child Essay
The My Virtual Child program allows the user to become a parent and make
various decisions revolving around their virtual child. A lot of people may have
used this opportunity to try and show what a caring and wonderful parent they can
be, however, I did not choose this route. Throughout my daughter s life, I made it
my goal to stunt or inhibit her developmental growth in any way that I could. I
believed it was just as challenging, and took just as much knowledge of the subject
to be the worst parent as it was to be the best parent.
1.Daenerys showed excellent physical promise from the day she was born. She
was walking by 9 months (early for most toddlers), and climbing down stairs by 18
months. She showed a desire to explore the world around her. Trying to react poorly,
I decided to hold her more, sometimes against her will, which would diminish her
exploration intuitions. I began to potty train her at 18 months, and would scold
her whenever she soiled her diapers. From her earliest 9 month report, Daenerys
was advanced in her gross and fine motor skills. Up until Kindergarten, these
reports were consistent, so at age 6, I decided to enroll her in a physical activity.
Trying to thwart her athletic ability, I signed her up for dance and gymnastics, the
least athletic option in my opinion. Over the years, Daenerys took a strong liking to
dance. At age 8, she went up to taking classes three times a week. I tried to find a
way to stop this positive exercise. When she was

Access Control Policy
Due in Week Seven: Outline the Access ControlPolicy. Describe how access control
methodologies work to secure information systems
Access control is used to restrict operations, which authorized users can perform.
Access control does exactly what it says, it controls what access an authorized user
can have. A reference monitor is used for access control and follows instructions from
an authorization database. These authorizations are controlled and administered by a
security administrator who sets ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is also possible under some operating systems for the network or system
administrator to dictate which permissions users are allowed to set in the ACL s of
the resources. Discretionary Access Control has a more flexible environment than
Mandatory Access Control, but also increases the risk that data will be made
accessible to users who should not gain access. Understanding permissions about the
security of file servers on the network will increase network security (Bushmiller,
2011).
2 Mandatory access control
Describe how and why mandatory access control will be used.
Mandatory Access Control (MAC) uses a hierarchy approach to control access to
resources, such as data files. The system administrator is responsible for the
settings in a MAC environment. All access to resource objects is controlled by the
operating system based on setting configured by the system administrator. With
MAC it is not possible for users to change the access control for any resource.
Mandatory Access Control starts with security labels, which contain two types of
information and are assigned to all resource objects on the system. The two types of
information are classification, such as confidential or top secret and a category,
which is basically an indication of the project or department to which the object is
available, or an indication of the management level.
Personal Identity In King Lear, Othello And Hamlet By...
Shakespeare has been called a two eyed playwright (CITATION), and seems
ultimately aware of his characters motivations and desires. However, when looking at
the intrinsic identity of the characters within his work, it is possible to note that some
go through more drastic or challenging changes of identitythan others. This calls up
the question: how fixed is personal identity in Shakespeare s work? (CITATION
YOuTuBE) claims that personal identity is either the way a character presents
themselves, or the way a society perceives that character. When analyzing specific
characters in King Lear, Othello, and Hamlet it is possible to see that while the
flexibility of identity is dependent on the character and their circumstances, some
character s identies primarily the title characters of each of these plays, have
identities which are far more flexible than others in their story. King Lear
exemplifies issues of selfhood primarily in the characters of Lear, Cordelia, and
Kent. The play dramatizes a skepticism of inherent selfhood using devices such as
costume and insanity. The clothing imagery apparent in King Lear implicates most
of what the characters believe themselves to be is comprised of things that are taken
on or off, such as titles or garments relating to specific stations. The imagery relating
to dress and class would have been particularly poignant at the time of the play s
original performance. With the emergence of the merchant class it became possible for

Momma wouldn t let me straighten? (4) A theme in I Know Why the Caged Bird
Sings is Angelou s identity struggle as a black female. During this time in the country,
colorism and a European standard taught that having black features was not only bad,
but made a person ugly. In this quote, Angelou believes and internalizes those
standards and puts herself down for not fitting that image. Angelou wished that she
could change her identity and become a white female because she felt ... Show more

This history of hopelessness and oppression triggers an emotional response in me
because absolutely no one deserves to ever feel a feeling of inferiority.
If growing up is painful for the Southern Black girl, being aware of her
displacement is the rust on the razor that threatens the throat. It is an unnecessary
insult. (20) This quote comes at the opening of the autobiography and alludes to the
life of young Angelou. During this time, being black and a female in the south
equalled a life of hardships because of the south s highly racist and sexist culture.
This quote means that at birth Angelou was already assigned struggle, but when she
became aware of this struggle her life would become even more difficult. Angelou s
hardships were one of the main themes in the novel. I picked this quote because I
agree with its message. What you don t know can t hurt you supports this quote well.
If a person unknowingly has a cancerous tumour he surely is being hurt, but if the
tumor is left undetected worry and fear are not added to equation. A person can be
treated unfairly without realizing it, it ll hurt them, but maybe not emotionally scar
them.
It s another to the body, and it looks like Louis is going down. My race groaned. It
was our people falling. (49) Angelou further delves into what it means to be and
what it s like to be black during this time. Since black people were not accepted as
equals and as capable individuals the black community often placed
American Imperialism In Cambodia
The Cambodia of the late 19th and 20th century was a far cry from the once great
Khmer Empire famous for its engagement in ambitious state projects such as the
building of Angkor Wat. In 1884, France integrated Cambodia into its Indochinese
colony. France lost its grip on Cambodia in 1941 to Japanese invasion during World
War II but attempted to gain it back at the war s end. At the conclusion 1954 Geneva
Accords that concluded the eight year long First Indochina War, Cambodiagained its
independence. During the conflict, Cambodian elites such as Saloth Sar (Pol Pot)
were receiving western education in Paris, a hotbed for radical Communist ideology
at the time. After returning to Cambodia, in 1962, Pol Pot assumed leadership of the

The agrarian reorganization of society was the main concept taken directly from
Mao s Great Leap Forward. Pol Pot hoped to overcome Cambodia s lack of
materials and technology through exploitation of the population s labor potential
on collectivized farms. This program also tied in an extreme level of xenophobia,
as Pol Pot saw Cambodia s cities as exhibition centers for unholy western ideals of
capitalist commerce and industry, and education. In its exile of Cambodians from
cities, the Khmer Rouge killed all intellectuals and civil servants of the former
western aligned regime, as the Party saw them as people likely to have absorbed
western ideas, and therefore, as threats to the Communist society. People were
forced onto to collectivized farms on the countryside with the intention of creating a
self sufficient one class state society of peasants, which in turn would free
Cambodia from international interference. However, in practice, those already
living in the countryside at the onset of this program, the so called base people,
enjoyed a higher societal ranking as the Khmer Rouge viewed them as model
citizens for the new order. Loung Ung describes this class as many [who] have never
ventured out of their village and have not been corrupted by the
Saving Private Ryan Historical Accuracy
Saving Private Ryan is a 1998 movie directed by Steven Spielberg about World War
II Invasion of Normandy. This film, was nominated for 11 Academy Awards and
won many other awards among the cast, picture, and so forth. Spielberg did a great
job on getting a lot of things correct to what happened in real life. Although, the
movie isn t entirely correct with certain scenes and topics. At the very beginning of
the movie they showed the United States Army invading the Omaha Beach. In this
scene, they showed all of the casualties on the beach. The scene was able to show
the sand was just covered in blood and bodies. Those bodies lying on the sand
weren t all dead either. Some of the bodies on the sand were people still alive, they
were just suffering from their wounds from the gun fires and bombs. This particular
part in the movie was completely true to what actually happened in real life during
WWII. Another thing the movie got correct was them showing a scene of the
Normandy cemetery. The Normandy Cemetery in the movie is actually the cemetery
in France, also known as the Normandy American Cemetery. The cemetery honors
the American troops who died in Europe during the World War II. The movie
portrayed a lot of deaths in the movie. Some people think that the movie was
overexerting, which the movie wasn t. There was a lot of deaths that... Show more

with the soldiers and their captain, but if there was a lot of the back talk and arguing,
that s when they would be in serious trouble with the captain and further

organizations that an owner should form, so that it is most beneficial for him and the

and the association of the legal, tax and accounting implications with the different
structures are also discussed. Suppose that the government has released funds to set

It is, therefore, subjected to double taxation , which means that profits are taxed and
shareholders are taxed on the dividends that are paid on the stock they own and any
profits they receive on shares of stock that they sell (Tiwary, 2008).
The ownership claim in corporations is defined by the amount of shares owned and
can be easily transferred by selling off the shares. Because individual share can be
easily bought, raising capital is easier for a corporation than the other business
structures, particularly in S corporations. In corporations, the stockholders are
protected from the liabilities and debts of the company, although they pay higher
taxes on the dividends received from the company. A corporation also ensures the
continuity of life if one owner dies. A corporation has more legal issues to handle
than the other business structures because it is large and publicly traded. Everything
needs to be documented and filed and general meetings must be held at least per
annum. All actions affecting the operations of the company, such as mergers and
establishing new business ventures, must be discussed, recorded and filed. This also
means that because corporations trade publicly, they are required to provide extensive
financial statements such as the balance sheets, income statement, cash flow
statement and retained earnings statement. They need these statements to attract
more investors and increase capital. Corporations are also liable to the SOX
Police Brutality On The American Public
Abdarahmane Toure English II Dr. Hollins Ph.D Solution Problem Thesis Police
Brutality It is never a bad time to discuss matters of police brutality since at any
given time some American gets pulled over or chased down the streets. When the
police get hold of him, they probably will use excessive force in getting him to the
ground and cuffing him, they might beat him a little bit in the process, just at the
scene or maybe later at the station, or they just might kill him. This is the brutal
truth of the reality in the American streets. One can never understand clearly the
brutality of the police through mere reading of statistics. A search in the YouTube
and the videos uploaded would make you want to treat the police differently. The
past few months has seen the police in the news for all the wrong reasons. It is for
this reason that this paper sets out to explore the subject of police brutality on the
American public. Two decades ago, riots broke out in Los Angeles riots made
news across the whole nation bringing the issue of excessive use of force by the
police to the court of the public. Since then the issue has remained issue of
discussion although little has changed. The police continue to beat up suspects, they
continue to knock them off in public for a mere show of might, people have even
been killed, but very little has been done. The year 2014 was a dark year to human
rights activists. Police killed and
Comparing Gilgamesh And Noah s Flood
Few stories written in ancient times, such as the ones about Noah and his flood
and Gilgamesh and his flood, have been able to survive the test of time. This why
when books as well written as these two are found from ancient times, people tend
to be drawn toward them. Books such as these are often very thoroughly studied
and observed just because of how long ago they were written. It s enjoyable to
experience the type of writing a completely different time period was able to
produce. However, with all the praise the pieces get, comes great skepticism as
well. A major event in both pieces of writing is a divine inspired flood. Both books
also have very similar characteristics within each of their flood stories. The story of
Noah s flood was based off of the flood of Gilgamesh and the timing of the pieces
being written and the similarities between the stories are the reason why.... Show

Skeptics claim that the flood narrative of Genesis is a rewritten version of an
original myth (freerepublic.com, 1). The myth they are referring to is that of
Gilgamesh and his flood. It is believed that the books could have been written up to
2800 years apart. Knowing the difference in time between the writing of the two
books is an essential step in understanding how Noah s flood was just retold from
the original flood of Gilgamesh. The most important part of revealing the copying
of Gilgamesh s flood is in all the different characteristics the floods share. Some of
the similarities are very striking (icr.org, 1). This quote is referring to the
connections the author makes earlier in the article between the two flood stories.
Some of these connections include the floods being caused by upset gods, the
bringing of all species of animals on board, and the landing of the ship on a

This expensive market is not just a Vancouver problem, it is an issue growing throughout the nation and is depriving the average citizen to be able to purchase a house in their lifetime. There is a major issue with the state of the market and how it affects the current citizens. Issues have been rising where the average wage in Vancouveris estimated at seventy one thousand per family household, according to the Vancouver Sun (2014), yet the average costing home as reached between five hundred thousand in the municipality to over one million within Vancouver, according to articles by Beth Lindsay (2015) of the Vancouver Sun, and Troy Landereville (2015) of The Maple Ridge Times. This paper will argue that Canada needs to change its policies on immigration with foreign investments in order to solve the rising issue with housing prices that are not affordable to the average citizen and to reclaim lost revenue. Issues should be seen as foreign investments, tax dodging, and how the system is being abused. The paper will begin with looking at the current market within Vancouver and how it has changed to show the problem at its worst case scenario that Canada is facing with its cost of housing. The paper will look at how immigration has caused a massive effect on the market and how it will spread from the more major cities into other

Leaders Should Be A Successful Leader Gary Yukl (2006) defines leadership as the process of influencing others to understand and agree about what needs to be done and how to do it, and the process of facilitating individual and collective efforts to accomplish shared objectives. Yet the questions remains as to what truly drives voters to go to the polls every four years. American s face many issues in this election; however, the issue I m going to focus on boils down to one simple thing: EPA Regulation and coal. Coal has been seen as a main source of energy in multiple states such as Kentucky, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. My great uncle currently works at a factory where he is only limited to do certain aspects of his job due to recent EPA regulations restricting what the factory can do due to the factory producing chemicals within the air that is harmful to the environment. Presidential candidate Donald Trump has a plan to combat these unnecessary EPA regulations stated within the following quote The current Administration, and particularly its EPA, seems not to care. Its Clean Power Plan the centerpiece of the President s war on coal has been stayed by the Supreme Court. We will do away with it altogether. Donald Trump and the Republican Party understands that the effort to protect the environment has gone too far with extreme measures as he states in this quote We will end the war on coal and the war on miners. The idea of preserving my great grandfather s hard work, along with my great uncle s career drives me to the polls because the government is attempting to help them in theory, but just as recently stated, have gone too far in their efforts to protect the environment and thus I must stand up and go to the polls this November to save coal along with my family s hard

This case study touches on many topics within licensing but the three most dominant aspects within the Warnaco Groupvs. Calvin Klein suit are the agreements and understandings discussed with a contract, the rights to a trademark and the rights of both the licensor and the licensee. While briefing this case study one can not help but notice, stated on page 21, the agreements that are displayed in exhibit 1: Excerpts from Calvin Klein Jeanswear Licensing Agreement. Here it is clear that the agreement, signed by BOTH parties, states that Warnaco agrees to maximize the quantity of Articles sold, and will be consistent with CKI s past practices. One can assume, that due to the prolonged history between the two parties this includes Costco, Sam s Club and BJs store, which alone were held responsible for 150 million dollars in warehouse sales, just one year prior to the filing of the lawsuit. It is also important to point out that this licensing agreement is not with CKI as the owner, it is in fact a licensing agreement with the CK Trademark Trust being the beneficial owner to ALL rights, titles and interest in or to the Licensed Mark. The licensing agreement then continues to state that Warnaco controls any such act or thing which may cause any affect to the Trust. With the understanding of licensing,

However, is journal writing a beneficial tool for student learning? How can it become more effective in the classroom? There are many types of journals which can be used in a classroom. I have decided to look at the different types of journals that exist to gain a broad overview of journal usage. This is to help me decide what the most effective journal for this classroom would be. Journals are also a way for students to express ideas without feeling pressure to respond in a certain manner in order to receive a good grade. Along with the freedom to express thoughts and concerns, a journal also can provide the freedom in which you express these thoughts and concerns. Journals are considered an artist s notebook. Journal entries are normally done by using words, however there is a move to allow students to use photographs, drawings, paintings, or any creative way the student may choose to express themselves. According to Teaching Writing written by Gail Tompkins, the purpose of journal writing is for students to use journals to 1) record personal experiences, 2) explore reactions and interpretations, and 3) record and analyze information. These criteria or aspects can be applied to any and all disciplines. I think that the most important place to include journal wrtiting is in the English classroom. This is where writing begins to take shape. Since it such a vital aspect of everyday life, students should feel comfortable expressing themselves and should have the means to do so. Journals allow students the opportunity to visual express themselves and to see their ideas on paper giving

  • 15. Reflective Beliefs Of AquinasTeaching On The Eucharist Aquinas teaching on the Eucharist has offered many new and distinctive insights to me. One of these insights is when Aquinas asks the question whether one should distinguish the two ways of eating Christ s body. The two ways are spiritually and sacramentally. His opponents argue there is no need to and I thought the same as well, because eating the bread and drinking the wine would encompass both. However, after reading Aquinas I answer , it became clear to me that there is a twofold division between the sacrament itself and the effect of it. An example my professor gave is if a mouse ate some bread and wine. The mouse is not mindful and because of that, it only participated in the physical aspect of the Eucharist, but not with its effect. You must be mindful to appreciate the symbols of bread and wine or there will be more harm than good if you are not attentive of what God is doing. A quote from Aquinas that helped me understand this better is when he says, but the sacramental eating that does not secure the effect is contrasted with spiritual eating, just as the imperfect, which does not attain perfection of its species, is contrasted with the perfect (ST 3.80.1). What he means by this is that just by merely participating in the sacrament alone without the effect is like doing something in an imperfect way. The perfect way of doing this is by complete eating, which is receiving both the visible and invisible effects. Aquinas also offers some strong arguments against

There is concern that as the population ages in the United States, there will be a significant increase in the number of older adults being treated for substance abuse problems. There is no doubt that there is a prevalence of substance abuse throughout several age groups. To a certain extent, a society is faced with the reality of controlling substance abuse. Physicians for elderly patients lack communication with each other. If the physicians lack high level communication, then prescribed medicines may have an adverse effect on the elderly. The elderly, often times, have cognitive problems, which makes it difficult for the elderly to understand instructions for prescriptions. This can cause a serious issue in this particular population. It can be determined that the elderly seldom get drugs illicitly. As stated earlier, they usually get drugs by seeing multiple doctors. In addition to this, they stockpile prescribed medications over time, or getting medications from family members. This only contributes to the problems of the elderly. Often times, family members are reluctant to address the issues their elderly family member face. Although substance abuse among the elderly, like alcohol is low considered compared to the general population, its prevalence is still high. A study showed the prevalence of alcohol related problems ranged from 1.4% to 22% (Adams, et al., 1993). It can be understood that the level of alcohol related problems diminishes as an individual ages. Reports of substance abuse among this age group are considered under reported. It can be understood that the elderly are the unseen components of society. Often times, the elderly are marginalized and subjected to the realities of old age. Society seems to shy away from the elderly. This

Federer is arguably one of the most attractive men in all of sports. Of course this highly relates to his great physical shape and facial features, but it is also about his class, humbleness, and charm. As mentioned in the audit chart, Federer is considered a great philanthropist as he has helped many people around the world and even has his own foundation. In many ways, he can be thought of as the perfect gentleman . The perfect complimenting accessory for an attractive gentleman such as himself is a classic pair of aviator Ray Ban sunglasses. Of course, attractiveness is only one part of this equation. As mentioned previously, trustworthiness may be more important for actual purchase persuasiveness. Federer s credibility adds tremendously to his trustworthiness. He may not have won a grand slam title in 2015 or 2016 but he was still ranked in the top 3 in the world, and has a great tract record that has proven his ability to still compete and dominate. When Federer chooses a brand of sunglasses to wear, consumers can be confident in his choice. Much like Federer, Ray Ban does not have to prove the value of their product. They have both been around for a long time, and understand what it means to be great. Another major reason for I would propose this sponsorship is due to Federer apparently not currently having a sunglasses sponsor. He has some

Most just learned to deal with it behind their closed doors in silence. During this time the divorce rate, according to an article published in 1973 by the National Center for Health Statistics , was at twenty five percent. (Plateris). Most women did not have the luxury of getting one due to the fact that most husbands of that time had control of the household finances, not to mention that it was a costly venture. Some marriages struggled with spousal abuse as well; be it emotional or physical yet domestic violence at this time was something that people really did not talk about, nor were there the resources for victims that we have today. In this haunting poem, Adrienne Rich uses symbolism to paint a picture of a scared, and lonely woman as she creates this tapestry of Tigers being hunted, in a colorful landscape, while she is pondering her relationship between her and her spouse. Many specialists have considered the connection between addiction and intelligence, trying to gauge how they are related. The results of various studies have been surprising: high intelligence has been more commonly linked to addiction rather than low intelligence. But why? Studies Seem To Confirm It The troubling connection between intelligence and addiction has been highly studied and two recent studies seem to confirm the link between the two. The first of these studies was published in 2011 and found that children in 1970 who tested highly on IQ tests were subsequently more likely to abuse drugs later in life. Specifically, the study found that men who had a mean IQ score of 109 (the highest in the study) were trying drugs much earlier and also used drugs more frequently than those who tested with an IQ of 100. Although the numbers were slightly different for women (regarding both IQ and drug use), they paralleled the results found in the males. The second study, published in 2012, studied children born in 1958. What they found was very similar to the first study, but with more precise results: they found that an increase of one standard deviation in IQ almost exponentially increased addiction risk. Although the exact percentages weren t released, the results of these studies are greatly troubling for people looking for a way to stem the tide of addiction. But Why Does This

Eastern medicine has long viewed the body as mind, body, and spirit as one entity. To understand the ideas of Eastern and Western medicines the history of each has to be taken into consideration. Very often when we think of the evolution of medicine, or as we refer to it as Western Medicine, we think as far back as 2000 year ago with Galen in Rome or perhaps 2500 years ago with Hippocrates in Greece. We often sit back and think of how ancient that was... and how primitive that must have been (Grozs). Hippocrates, a physician in Greece, believed in scientific reasoning and the power of healing. • 33. Theme Of Alienation In Metamorphosis How the theme of Alienation is demonstrated in metamorphosis through the mediums of situation, setting and relationships? In the Metamorphosis, Franz Kafka reflects upon past experiences of his personal life, both mentally and physically, to help create Gregor s life. Kafka throughout the novel talks about the relationship between Gregor and his family which is in many ways similar to that of Kafka. From Kafka s early childhood, we can understand that he also suffered with the aspects of alienation and to a greater extent from his father Hermann. Furthermore, the theme of alienation in metamorphosis will be elaborated on through situation, setting and the familial relationships, Gregor experiences. The first passage of the book refers to the dehumanisation of Gregor, who all of a sudden wakes up and finds himself transformed into an insect and it is this dehumanisation that sets the scene for the rest of the story. The scene that is being set out is random and paves the way for the rest of novel to follow on to the theme of alienation in the most random of situations. As Gregor Samsa awoke one morning from uneasy dreams he found himself transformed into a gigantic insect (p.9). The first passage reflects on how Gregor undergoes a physical transformation from human to an insect. Despite this change in appearance, he maintains his state of mind and memories. Whilst maintaining his mental abilities, it is his change in appearance that causes his family to turn a blind eye and results in Gregor dying. The situation that is being presented to the reader is a theme that arises at the beginning of the novel is that of randomness. The protagonist, Gregor, cannot begin to comprehend the situation that has occurred. Early in the book, Gregor cannot understand what is happening and states What has happened to me? [...] It was no dream (p.9). This suggests to the reader that was is happening is real but remains random to the reader. Furthermore, this allows the reader to question the situation that is at hand so early on in the novel. All of this drama unfolds in Gregors room in private. The setting for Gregors alienation is within the confines of his room. It is where most of the novel takes place, and

TIMELINE June 2008:CEOs of both United Airlines and Continental Airlinessigned and alliance pact. The alliance is an agreement to link international networks and share technology and passenger perks. This agreement is basically a virtual merger that includes many of the benefits of a merger without the actual costs and restructuring involved. The alliance took effect about a year after Delta Air Lines and Northwest Airlines completed their merger, as that released Continental from the SkyTeam contract and allowed for the required nine month notice. Additionally, Continental joined the Star Alliance, as Delta and Northwest merged. April 2010:United Airlines was reported to be in serious merger discussion with US Airways. May 2, 2010:The board of Directors at Continental and United Airlines approved a stock swap deal that would combine them into the world s largest airline. Both airlines have taken losses in the recession and expect the merger to generate savings of more than $1

During the manufacturing processes, the solvents are not completely removed. The solvents may be used to improve the yield in the synthesis of active pharmaceutical substances besides imparting characteristics of crystal form, purity and solubility. Residual solvents do not have any therapeutic effect. Therefore, efforts should be made to remove them to the extent possible to meet the specification prescribed [2]. He did this through his death and resurrection, or what we refer to as the pascal mystery. We still encounter the saving presence of the Lord in the sacraments and in the Word. In each and every sacrament we come face to face with quot;the grace of God our Savior quot; (Titus 2:11). It is this redemption of sins aspect of the sacraments that I will be examine. In the second and up to the sixth century A.D. a Christian could only receive the Sacrament of Penance once after Baptism. The penitent would have to first confess before his or her bishop. The penitent would then be required to participate in the quot;order of penitents quot; of the early Church. This required the penitent to wear special clothes, and the penitent would have to go to a special place with other penitents when worshipping with the community. The community would pray for those in the quot;order of penitents quot; during the worship serves, and the bishop would lay his hands on the penitents. But this laying on of hands did not take on the character of absolution until it was done during the worship serves on Thursday of Holy Week. The penitents were not allowed to receive Eucharist because the penitents were excommunicated, excluded from Communion. After a period of probation, prescribed by the bishop, the penitent would be absolved of the sins the individual committed. The bishop would do this by laying his hands on the penitent. The typical time for this reconciliation to take place was on Thursday of Holy Week before the Baptisms took place. The reason it was done at this time was because the early Church believed that both Baptism and Penance were both sacraments that brought about forgiveness of sins and that they should be prepared for at the same time. It was just this type

For instance, take a look at Disney s Princess and the Frog which was a traditionally animated film. It had done well when it came to what movie critics had to say about it, however, it failed in comparison to Pixar at the box office with a return of only $267million (Child n.p). The settlement movement became another key feature in establishing Social Workin a bid for society to focus on the causes of poverty rather than the individual. There are five elements to the pentad: agent, act, scene, agency and purpose. The pentad is necessary when trying to develop an argument, as it can produce several possibilities that can have relation to each other. In Goodbye Earl , the agents would be best friends Wanda and Mary Anne. These are the main characters that are involved in the act of the situation. The act explains what happened or what the exact action was. In this case, Wanda and Mary Anne s act was to kill Mary Anne s husband Earl.
