Some of the research findings are listed below: Adults will commit to learning when they believe
that the objectives are realistic and important for their personal and professional needs. Adults
desire to be the origin of their own learning and should have some control over the what, who,
how, why, when, and where of their learning. Coaching and other kinds of follow up support are
needed because adult learners do not automatically transfer learning into daily practice. Adults
need feedback on the results of their efforts. Adults need direct, concrete experiences for applying
what they have learned to their work. Adult learners come to the learning process with self
direction and a wide range of previous experiences. Employment for the purpose of coaching on a
one to one basis responds to each of these characteristics of adult learners whether they lead schools
or private businesses. The authors further discuss what coaching isn t. In order to understand the
concept of coaching it is necessary to know what coaching is not, and to review some of the
practices that are infrequently confused with it. Coaching is not training. Coaching is centered on
context and design to respond to the needs of the individual learner. Coaching is not mentoring
although effective mentors use coaching skills and strategies.

Business Gross Domestic Products
What is Gross Domestic Product?

1. What was Real GDP for 2009? The GDP for 2009 was 3.1 In 2009, GDP started to improve after
four quarters of decline during The Great Recession. Nominal GDP for 2009 rebounded to $14.418

National income accounting records the level of activity in accounts such as total revenues earned
by domestic corporations, wages paid to foreign and domestic workers, and the amount spent on
sales and income taxes by corporations and individuals residing in the country.
h. What is the difference between GNP and NI? GNP measures the market value of all final
goods and services produced by a country s citizens or residents. The difference is subtle but
important. GNP excludes economic activity that occurs in the U.S. but is owned by foreigners
and includes American economic activity that occurs in other countries. GDP is place based
whereas GNP is ownership based. So, if a foreigner creates an Internet startup in Silicon Valley, this
will count as GDP, but not GNP. If General Electric opens a new plant in Poland, this investment
will be included in GNP, but not GDP. i. How did NI change from 2008? In 2008, the money value
of GDP expands to $4,500m but during the year, inflation is 3% causing the general index of prices
to rise from a 2007 base year value of 100 to 103 in 2008.
j. What caused these changes? The financial crisis was created from the housing bubble and the
mortgage industry. Additionally, this caused a fall in national income, which lead growth in GDP
in negative territory. I changed

The Peo Model
The PEO model is an appropriate tool to use to diagnose a person with Down Syndrome (DS) and
motor disabilities. The PEO model of practice has three main components which include the person
(P), environment (E), and occupation (O), which will be used for the interventions in this case
study. According to Rousseau, Potvin, Dutil, and Falta (2002), knowing the individual s
environment and how it interacts with the person is one of the essential key factors needed to
provide effective treatment and intervention in occupational therapy. More specifically, the
interaction between the person and the environment are major considerations to gain normal
abilities because the nature of the DS is different compared to the other diagnosis.

This assessment contains 6 subcategories including reflexes, stationary, locomotion, object
manipulation, grasping, and visual motor integration. Each subcategory has its own subtests to
identify children s development in depth. The reflexes contain 8 subtests to measure the ability of
automatic reaction to the environments. Typically, the reflex integrates age around 12 months, and
this subtest allows measurement of the reflex age from birth to 11 months. The stationary has 30
subtests that measure the ability to sustain control within the center of gravity and retain
equilibrium of the body. The locomotion has 89 subtests to measure the ability to move from one
place to another by walking, running, jumping forward, hopping, and crawling. The object
manipulation has 24 subtests which measure an ability to manipulate balls such as throwing,
catching, and kicking. Grasping has 26 subtests to measure hand and finger function such as
holding an object with one hand and controlling the object with fingers in one and/or two hands.
Visual motor integration includes 72 subtests to measure visual perceptual skills that are required
to perform the eye hand coordination tasks such as building blocks and copying designs (Folio

Essay about The Bibi-Khanym Mosque
The Bibi Khanym is a congregational mosque, masjid i jami` in Persian, built by Emperor Timur i
Leng between 1399 and 1404 in Samarkand, present day Uzbekistan. Emperor Timur remarkably
expanded his small tribe into the Timurid Dynasty, which lasted from 1370 to 1507. Timur showed
great leadership skills and also had an interest in architecture. The results of his artistic interests are
especially apparent in Samarkand, the capital of the Timurids during Timurs reign where art,
architecture, and culture flourished. The Bibi Khanum exemplifies the vision that Timur held for
Samarkand because of the monument s dominant and massive nature. Although today the mosque

It was under Timur that Samarkand became one of the most outstanding capitals of the then
known world. It became a thriving city in which markets could be found containing leather,
spices, silk, and precious stones. It was also a city of great architectural monuments where
accomplished artisans and architects came or were brought from around the world to build in this
capital. Timur s goal was to dominate the world and show the dominance of the Timurid dynasty.
One of the main motives behind Timur s efforts was the desire to control the trade routes, which
linked East and West. With great interest in trade, Timur had an ambitious strategy to reactivate
the Silk Road and make it the link between Europe and China. In 1405, at the beginning of his last
and greatest campaign, Timur died. Timur is memorialized for his ability as a nomad chief to
transform his tribe into an empire using Samarkand as the capital to display the Timurid dynastic
power.
Timur was not only a great conqueror but also an memorable builder. Whenever he conquered a
city that stood in the way of his army, he would bring back the artisans and materials to embellish
his royal city of Samarkand. When Timur was not working on military efforts he was constantly
involved in the building of these works created in Samarkand. Although Timur built many of his
architectural achievements in Samarkand, he also created monuments in other cities, such as Shahr

Union Carbide s Bhopal Disaster
Union Carbide s Bhopal Disaster
In 1984, as if in a nightmare, a cloud of poison gas reached out and snuffed the lives of thousands
of people in the sleeping city of Bhopal, India. The residents awoke to a terrible disaster, a
chemical explosion whose memory could never be erased. At the center of the tragedy was the
Union Carbide pesticide plant, and surrounding the accident were doubts and accusations of
negligence and unethical practices.
The Disaster
On December 3, 1984, one of the world s worst chemical disasters occurred at the Union Carbide
pesticide plant in Bhopal, India. Forty tons of vaporous methyl isocyanate (MIC) gas exploded,
releasing a toxic mixture of MIC, hydrogen cyanide, monomethyl amine, carbon monoxide, and ...

said,
Even those companies that say they will maintain the same standards as in the developed world
find it difficult to resist the temptation to take a shortcut. Even if they have a good design for their
plant, however, there s no good infrastructure in the underdeveloped countries. Even if they put it
away from population centers, who will check and control that the people don t come in around it?
(Newton Dillingham, 2002, p. 90).
Had Union Carbide exercised more responsibility and ethics from the very beginning, perhaps the
Bhopal disaster would have been avoided.
Preventing Future Disasters
The Bhopal accident served as a wake up call for the chemical industry (Lang, 1984, para. 23). In
response, the Chemical Manufacturers Association created a program called Responsible CareВ®,
the chemical industry s commitment to the continuous improvement of environmental, health,
safety and security performance (Overview, 2004, para. 1). Jeff Lipton, chief executive of Nova
Chemicals Corp stated, When the average person thinks about chemicals, they think about risks
and hazards instead of benefits (Herrick, 2003, para. 9). Responsible CareВ® addresses those
concerns by implementing the following practices: (Overview, 2004, para. 2):

Effects Of Stress On The Body
Memory performance can often be hijacked by a given load of stress on the body. Stress is both a
versatile agent that disrupts the human body s normal mental, physical, and emotional state, and
the body s natural reaction to change (Staal, 2004). The effects of this amorphous phenomenon
have been studied from a number of angles including but not limited to stress related sleep pattern
disturbances, mood swings, attention spans, weight gain, long term illnesses, and cognitive
function. This review will focus on the effects of psychological stress on people s ability to encode,
store, and retain memories. When the human body is presented with a stressful situation, the body
enters a state of emergency called the fight or flight response, also known as the acute stress
response. Involuntarily, the body s sympathetic nervous system is aroused and releases adrenaline,
norepinephrine, and cortisol from the adrenal glands of the brain. These hormones trigger a series
of physiological responses facilitating acceleration in heart rate and breathing, constriction of blood
vessels, relaxed bladder, inhibition of metabolic digestion, tightened muscles, and sharper vision due
to pupil dilation. This is a result of the human body instinctively protecting itself from threat of pain
or injury by shutting down all of the nonessential systems, and supplying the bodily systems needed
to respond to the emergency with its necessary components, like sufficient amounts of oxygen and

However, other groups have noted long term improvements in joint pain from glucosamine
supplementation alone [8], and further enhanced effectiveness of combined glucosamine sulfate
and chondroitin sulfate, rather than the separate use of either supplement [5, 9]. The question of
their effectiveness in JCT populations is subject to ongoing debate. There has been growing interest
in eggshell membrane (EM) supplementation as a treatment for joint pain, as it does not present the
side effects of conventional treatments (NSAIDs). Eggshells and their membranes have been

She is uninsurable but would like to obtain additional life insurance. In this particular situation
Sonja has already attached the guaranteed purchase option to her ordinary life insurance so;
therefore she doesn t have to worry about not being insured. She also can obtain additional life
insurance because she will not need to show evidence of insurability. (Rejda, George, McNamara,
2014).
E.Sonja is seriously injured in an auto accident. After six months, she is still unable to return to
work. She has no income from her job, and the insurance premium payments are financially
burdensome. In this case Sonja has an ordinary life insurance with the waiver of premium
attached so after six months all premiums would be waived if Sonja is totally disabled. Under
some policies, a retroactive refund of the premium paid during the first six months would be paid.

by having a Trust with someone assigned to the Trust or a guardian on the Will, will make
everything crystal clear with no hassles on what the last demands were. Another way is to use the

Theme Of Symbolism In Chronicle Of A Death Foretold
Of the many literary devices used by writers to make their work more powerful and layered,
symbolism is one of the most effective, and Gabriel Garcia Marquez s Chronicle of a Death
Foretold is a text that relies heavily on its use to develop its narrative. The novella recounts, in the
form of a pseudo journalistic reconstruction, the murder of Santiago Nasar in a small Colombian
town in the mid 1900 s. Through the course of the novel, Marquez employs various symbols to
reinforce key ideas, themes and techniques. This helps the novella break the monotony of a linear
storyline and unfolds the plot in a unique way that compounds both effect and meaning.
Santiago s dream sequence mentioned at the beginning of the novella is one of the most significant
symbols in the novella. He dreams that he was going ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After Santiago is murdered and his body is autopsied, it is revealed seven of the many wounds were
fatal and some of his organs were destroyed . Moreover, when Pedro plans to fatally stab
Santiago, he looks for his heart almost in his armpit, where pigs have it . Thus by likening
Santiago to a pig, Gabriel Marquez emphasizes the significance of the pig knives as a symbol. The
use of the pig knives as a murder weapon is also symbolic of the crassness of the decision to
murder Santiago. The novel states that the Vicario brothers had less than a day to plan the
execution of Santiago, since the were told of their sister s loss of virginity a short time before
three on the morning they killed Santiago Nassar. Earlier in the novel, it is also mentioned that the
brothers were known to slaughter the same hogs they raised, a fact that links to the idea that the
twins looked at Santiago as simply another hog to slaughter , and therefore they used the same
weapon to murder

anyone or anything to separate him from the love of God. James H. Cone main objective was to

The Fundamental Of Oral Communication Teacher Essay
Listening to my Fundamental of Oral Communication teacher, Jackie, made me see that college

I started off the interview by asking what her most successful students look like. She told me, the
people that get there work completed and turned in on time are on the right track to being
successful. They show great communication skills towards her, are engaged learners, and perform
to their highest abilities. No matter if they work or not they can still be successful. I then asked
what her least successful students looked like. She confessed about how easy it is to spot people
that aren t going to be successful. They do things by checklist instead of actively engaging with the
class. She said, Learning is something students do and they don t seem to get that. Going on to my
next question, is it easy to spot your successful student, she answered saying how she can start to
see these people within the 3rd week of classes. There are times where it takes longer because
students are shy but she sees patterns in people. She even said Ones who will struggle, I see

Teaching Self And Core Values Of Teaching Personal And...
Teaching personal and social responsibility (TPSR) is a lifelong journey. One can never fully
achieve the ultimate goal of becoming personally and socially responsible as it s always
expanding. TPSR is built upon the foundation of putting kids first, human decency, holistic self
development, and as Nick Forsberg said a way of being (19). It is important for a teacher to put
aside personal goals and achievements to focus on the students. The students well being and
personal growth must be the focal point. Along with these important core values TPSR is
structured around a five level system. The first two level are considered a beginner level of TPSR
and touch on respect and effort. Within the begining levels a student will begin to understand the
role expectations placed upon him or her in the classroom. This includes peaceful and respectful
participation in every activity with a maximum effort and a positive attitude. The third and fourth
level to TPSR involve self direction and helping. This involves going above and beyond the set
lessonand setting goals for yourself while showing positive leadership within the community. It
is important to identify at these level direct supervision is not necessary and varies with age.
The final level involves taking your knowledge outside the gym. This is a culmination of all levels
and a direct transfer to your everyday life. This is the stage in which one goes from being a
follower to a leader and setting an example for everyone

Essay on Remaking Beowulf as a Christian Hero
Remaking Beowulf as a Christian Hero
The story of Beowulf is full of religious references and symbolism, but is it truly a Christian story?
According to the narrative, Beowulf is an instrument of God, an instrument of righteousness called
by God to perform His will for the Danes. In stark contrast to his good, is the enemy, Grendel, the
incarnation of pure evil. These two characters appear to represent the forces of good versus the
forces of evil. It would be easy enough to leave the story that way, but it appears that Beowulf is
written intentionally to make the main characters appear more important by adding Biblical
references to the narrative. By creating characters of a Biblical stature, the story as a whole has an

When the warriors slept this wicked creature would come and murder them without any remorse.
It may be that at one point Grendel was a human much like Beowulf. Yet, so as to save his life,
he left behind his hand, his arm and shoulder (957 959). He has the appearance of a man and he
has a mother, but the humanness of Grendel has disappeared, and what remains is a creature that as
the text says, the Creator had condemned. Instead of saying that Grendel was just a real bad guy,
through these descriptions, he has taken on a supernatural or mystical quality. God was even
concerned enough to curse Grendel for his atrocities.
This heightened importance of the characters is continued in the descriptions of Beowulf. We
can liken Beowulf to a religious man. He seems to be a man ordained to carry out God s
righteousness. When he arrives in the land of the Danes, the first thing he and his crew does is
thank God for a safe passage (225 226). Wulfgar shortly after Beowulf s arrival says, I am
convinced that Holy God, of His great mercy, has directed him to us West Danes and that he
means to come to grips with Grendel (378 381). Hrothgar also says, Yet God can easily prevent
this reckless ravager from committing such crimes (471 472). These men of the Danes are
completely convinced that God has brought Beowulf

Young And Immature In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
Romeo and Juliet, the star crossed lovers , do not have real love at all (Shakespeare). They are
too young to have true love, instead it is just based off looks. If they are older they might
understand what love really is. Since they are young and immature they rush into decisions they
make. They also take drastic measures in the decisions and how to handle themselves. They are
young and immature, and this is why their story ends the way it does, in complete tragedy.
Romeo loves with his eyes, but he does not love with his heart. He is too immature to stay true to
one girl if there is another girl that is more beautiful. Romeo meets Juliet and says to Friar
Laurence . . . my heart s dear love is set / On the fair daughter of rich Capulet ... Show more content

When Romeo tells Friar Laurence . . . but this i pray, / That thou consent to marry us today Friar
knows it is very immature, but only does it to possibly end the feud between the families (II, iii,
63 64). They could be mature and wait things out to see if them loving each other would work, but
instead they just get married. If they would just wait to find a good time to maybe talk to their
parents about it, that would be the mature thing to do. Romeo also has immaturity not in love, but
in revenge. After Tybalt kills Mercutio, Romeo immaturely goes and gets Tybalt. Most of us would
do this, but it is still immature. Romeo should just wait for the Prince to give Tybalt his
punishment and everything would be fine. Instead Romeo goes and kills Tybalt, and puts his own
life in jeopardy. If Romeo would be mature and think about these things, the Prince would not
banish him to Mantua and he could still see Juliet and be with his

The red and blue lights behind us interrupted our drive home from school. My dad veered to the

Charlie Gordon In Daniel Keyes Flowers For Algernon
Daniel Keyes, in the story Flowers for Algernon , portrayed hope for a mentally disabled man,
Charlie Gordon. The operation that had the intention of helping Charlie to become a normal
person had quite the opposite effect. After the operation, Charlie became much smarter, at which
point he realized how different socially he was from his peers. His friends make fun of him, his
coworkers want him to be fired, made a saying that belittles him, and seeing a mentally impaired
waiter at a restaurant leads him to comprehend that he would never be the same as his peers.
Another effect of Charlie s increase in intelligenceis that he knows how little Dr.Nemur and
Dr.Strauss care about him. They did not tell him about the potential dangerous side effects of the
surgery, and thought of him as a lesser human being; they went ahead with the surgery because they

Charlie wanted the doctors to choose him, because on some level he knew how atypical he was.
From the doctors perspective, the opportunity to make Charlie normal superseded his life; this is
why they neglected to tell him about the possible side effects of the operation. Disturbingly, the
doctors knew that Charlie could regress to his former state and possibly die; they decided not to
inform him of this fact because they wanted the recognition and praise that would be showered
upon them if Charlie s operation was a success. Charlie s impairment did not diminish his worth as
a human being, but during the experiment he was equated to a mouse, Algernon. The all
encompassing reason for the doctors wanting to fix Charlie was that they thought society would
benefit. They wanted him to become, as they perceived to be, normal, and to become a functioning
member of society. At the expense of Charlie s health and wellbeing, the doctors experimented on
him, and treated him as if he was less of a human

The Legal Action For Negligence Against Jimmy Farnham And...
Answer A
The major shareholder might not be successful in the legal action for negligence against Jimmy
Farnham. This is because the audit firm was not under a contract agreement with the major
shareholder, and the fact that the major shareholder can be considered a third party in the
contract between Jimmy Farnham and Aussie Outback Tours Ltd. The law is not definitively
clear on the auditor s liability to third parties (Porter, Г“ hГ“gartaigh Baskerville, 2012). An
auditor owes a duty of care to their direct client, and any damages incurred by the client due to
negligence on the part of the auditor makes the auditor liable in terms of contract and also in tort
(Nguyen Rajapakse, 2008). A claim of liability by a third party to an... Show more content on

He had advised the client to assign the review and evaluation of the new database to an independent
contractor. The fact that Jimmy was not familiar with the new system of accounting that the client
was implementing and therefore not involved in the changeover process absolves him and his audit
firm from direct liability. It is also hard to prove that the error in material inventory that resulted
from the changeover was committed when Jimmy was auditing the firm or at the instance of feeding
the data into the system. Admittance to liability is also dependent on whether the auditor had
placed disclaimers of responsibility in the preparation of the audit reports.
The criteria for the determination of the auditor s liability to other parties apart from the clients are
as follows:
The defendant must have reasonably foreseen that the statements would be put to use by the plaintiff
A relevant degree of proximity must exist between the parties involved in the litigation
The imposition of a duty for care by the plaintiff on the defendant must be just and reasonable
(Davies, 1991; ACCA, 2009).

likelihood of the judgements he made being used as a basis to make judgement by the plaintiff.

Ronald Takaki, a History of Multicultural America
Throughout history many ethnic cliques have experienced abuse and distrust from our American
society. The people in America seem to be less understanding, and less willing to accept cultures
different from their own, at least years ago. Groups such as the Indians, the African Americans, and
the Immigrants, fall deeply into this category. The situations and struggles they have gone through
are greatly explained in Ronald Takaki s novel, A Different Mirror, A History of a Multicultural

changed, helping change our perspective of each civilization, for better or even worse. When the

Bacon was a white indentured servant who was frustrated in the ways of society. He decided to
rebel creating the giddy multitude, [pg. 78] a group of white and black indentured servants who
had enough, due to not being able to succeed in the fantasy life people created in America. This
group greatly threatened the social order of Virginia. When the group had been defeated it became
obvious to Captain Thomas Grantham that they needed to reduce their dependency on white
laborers and focus more on Africans of which they could capture, and exploit. This also worked
out in the best interest of the people of Virginia because they could deny the Africans right to bear
arms due to their race. Africa became their primary source of labor. In 1674 slaves represented
only 20% of households and by 1694 slaves represented about 48% of households, nearly half the
population.
The American people did not see the African Americanpeople as people; rather beings that they
could make plow their land, or farm their crops. It was always about them. As it was with the
Indians, the American people used the African American people for their own personal gain. They
also still believed in their theory of keeping America white and having people different from them
served as a threat they decided to squash before any damage could be done.
The Immigrants that came to America experienced much similar situations with American abuse.

Old Roger Chillingworth
OLD Roger Chillingworth, throughout life, had been calm in temperament, kindly, though not of
warm affections, but ever, and in all his relations with the world, a pure and upright man. He had
begun an investigation, as he imagined, with the severe and equal integrity of a judge, desirous
only of truth, even as if the question involved no more than the air drawn lines and figures of a
geometrical problem, instead of humanpassions, and wrongs inflicted on himself. But, as he
proceeded, a terrible fascination, a kind of fierce, though still calm, necessity seized the old man
within its gripe, and never set him free again, until he had done all its bidding. He now dug into

While I was reading chapter 6, nonverbal communication, it was interesting reading about how

there are so many types of nonverbal communication. One of the major ways that we nonverbally
communicate is through facial expressions. Personally, I have never considered touching someone
as communication, but it really is. For example, if someone is sad and are given a hug it is telling
that person that they care about them. The three terms that I will be addressing in my journal are

Persuasive Essay On Driving
On October 6th, 2011 I was scheduled at 8:45 am to take my driver s license exam. I had been
preparing for this day the moment I received my temps six months prior. Instead of my
grandfather drive me to his home from high school every day, I demanded to start driving us
home. When my mom would come home late at night to pick me up from my grandparents
house to take me to my actual home I would drive us too. I was relentless when it came to
practicing driving. On late nights, I would take my future car, a 98 two door ford to a soybean
field behind my house and practice parallel parking. Although this may seem like overkill,
driving was something I wanted more than anything. You see, there were many reasons I
wanted to drive so bad, one, because of the freedom it would give me and two, I wanted to be
able to see something I had put so much time and effort into become a reality. It was not the
same as studying for a test, it was a life skill that would come in handy almost every day of my
life. At this point my life was not how I had pictured it being, and when I compared it to others
in my peer circle I realized how much of my life I had missed out on due to my father s parenting
style, my mother s inability to stand up for herself, and a series of other unfortunate events that
never seemed to let up. Up until the second grade I thought all kids went through what I went

American Culture In Nigeria
Paper 2 Nigerian society changed significantly with the introduction of European values. Of those
changes one of the greatest was the introduction of individualism, rather than the pride people had
in the tribal system. The rise of individualism changes every society, but the Nigerian society was
greatly affected and saw more Nigerian trying to leave to live in other countries with greater
opportunities. One example of this would be Elvis in the short story Graceland, who wanted to
move to America to pursue a career as an Elvis impersonator. This profession is an odd one,
especially considering the Nigerian culture, but with the rise in individualism there is more in an
emphasis on individual dreams in the society. This dream job helps to illuminate the cultural

Disadvantages Of Inflatable Kayak
A short list of common accessories would probably include such things as rod holders, tackle box

Obviously, it is not advised to drill holes into an inflatable kayak! However, many enterprising DIY
riggers have found that a few plastic D rings and some duct tape will make a handy group of
mounting and attachment points on an inflatable kayak. One of the latest and greatest discoveries

Their light weight not only makes taking them along on a hike a definite plus, but also makes a

a similar sized rigid kayak. Even many tandem inflatable kayaks weight less than single rigid
kayaks. There is no need for a trailer or roof rack, since they easily will fit into the trunk of even
a compact car, or into the back seat. This ability to fit into a small space adds another big benefit,
storage of your kayak in the off season. While storing your rigid kayak in the winter months
usually means either having sufficient garage space, a storage building, or an outside rack or
cradle of some kind, a deflated kayak will usually need no more storage space than that of a

of a similar sized rigid model. The additional savings of not having to also purchase a roof rack or
trailer has influenced many fishermen to become kayak fishermen when price is their main

Beloved By Toni Morrison Literary Devices
There are always multiple interpretations of a text that depend on the reader s experiences. Words
work the same way yet, readers want to find the correct interpretation. Toni Morrison writes in
her foreword for Beloved that in order to render enslavement as a personal experience, language
must get out of the way (xix). The foreword sets up the reader to grapple with the fact that
Morrison wants them to view the text through more than one lens, lenses that may not come from
their personal experiences but still valid lenses, and to experience the text through these many
perspectives. Morrison comments on a reader s desire for a singular lens through Sethe, Paul D,
Baby Suggs and Denver s different meanings of the word tree. Based on her experiences the word
tree represents the past and death for Sethe. In Sethe s memory she remembered boys hanging from
the most beautiful sycamores in the world. It shamed her remembering the wonderful soughing

Analysis Of The Story Paulie Calafiore
1. Paulie Calafiore Well, it just seems he is marching his way to victory and no one cares. Paulie
has the entire house in the palm of his hands and they will do whatever he states. Paul did his
dirty work for him this week by taking Da vonne out for him, someone who was loyal to Paul and
not coming after him. Props to the gamethat Paulie is playing, but I feel the double eviction is
where he is he most vulnerable.
2. James Huling James may not be playing the game hard and while he s currently a minion of
Paulie s, his game is a deep threat game. He is not currently being targeted by anyone and his
social game is pretty good. I think the house really respected his move to take out Frank, but
James is going to have to be the onet to take down Paulie if he wants to win.
3. Corey Brooks It seems with each passing week that Corey becomes safer and safer. I have yet
to hear anyone target him and he is very likely to survive the block over Nicole. He s not really
good in competitions and that s another thing that makes him less threatening. But Corey will need
to make a move if he wants any chance at the jury respecting him.
4. Paul Abrahamian Despite his bad move to target Da vonne who was not coming after him, he
is still in a good position and that has a lot to do with Paulie. Paul and Paulie have a very strong
alliance that no one in the game has detected as a strong final two deal. I can t see Paul being in

Las Meninas was VelГЎzquez s largest oeuvre measuring 3.21 m by 2.81 m (Umberger 96).
VelГЎzquez s masterpiece is one that draws sharp criticism ranging from those who find this work
as a complete piece with its pictorial features prominent in the artwork, to those who find it hard to
interpret its content conclusively (Ancell 159 160; Snyder 542+; Steinberg 48; Bongiorni 88).
Despite such disparities, VelГЎzquez s masterpiece was able to project a day in the life of the royal
family while at the same time achieving his artistic ideal. This work explores this artwork in light
of the royal family and personal gratification by VelГЎzquez as a celebrated artist.

The first maid of honor is Don МЂa MarГa Augustustina Sarmiento. MarГa offers Margarita a
drink while kneeling down as a sign of her paying homage to the position Margarita holds in the
royal family. The second maid of honor is Don МЂa Isabel de Velasco stands inclined towards the
princess. Isabel s glare is towards the same direction Margarita is facing yet Isabel s face is not
affixed to the viewer s point of view but rather facing down. This captures her as a servant rather
than a member of the royal family.
Another interesting perspective captured in the painting is facial elevation and position. The
meninas heads are at different elevations to that of Margarita. Their attention is towards Margarita
yet their perspectives are different. MarГa s eye view is higher than Margarita s eye view yet the
painter makes it appear as if MarГa s eyes are looking up on Margarita. Moreover, Isabel s elevation
appears to pay homage to Margarita by her angle of inclination, eye direction and facial expression. .
On the foreground, the painting captures two dwarfs. The adult dwarf is MaribГЎrbola while the
midget is the daughter NicolГЎs Pertusato (Umberger 97). NicolГЎs has her foot on the back of the
dog, which appears unperturbed despite the presence of human foot on its back. This calmness
shows a well trained dog of the royal family whose presence is calming. The dog appears to be
trained to be a child s pet or companion hence it calmness despite

Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment
A Government acting in good faith should never bring criminal proceedings against anyone who
reveals information about human rights abuses within its jurisdiction. There is therefore a sacred
responsibility placed on governments to protect whistleblowers as they play an important role, for
example:
a)Smedley Butler who exposed the McCormack Dickstein Committee in the U.S. House of
Representatives that business leaders had plotted a fascist coup d Г©tat against the Franklin D.
Roosevelt s administration in what became known as the Business Plot .

The Street Was Paved With Large Concrete Tiles
The street was paved with large concrete tiles, laid in a peculiar fashion, with some etched with
cracks over the surface. The street lights dimly illuminate my path as my eyes struggle to adjust

felt closer so I ran, faster and faster turning every corner I see. I m not making the right decisions,
I m panicking, I can t calm down. I can hear their footsteps chasing after me, their chunky clothing
hitting their body, blood rushing through their angry emotions. I m scared, someone please come
and save me. I came across an alleyway, it was a close gap between two old apartments, and it was
dark and uninviting. The cold night air coursed... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

802. 11 Synthesis Essay
IEEE802.11n made numerous changes to the 802.11 wireless standards that greatly increased the
throughput as compared to earlier versions. 802.11n uses MIMO which is Multiple Input Multiple
Output (also known as Multiple Antennas). MIMO makes use of multiple antennae to create
multiple streams of communications between a transmitter and a receiver. The 802.11n amendment
also introduced changes in the physical as well as MAC layers to make marked changes in the
effectiveness of wireless networks. These changes included spatial division multiplexing, space
time block coding, and transmitter beamforming. Spatial division multiplexing. This is the ability

So the transmitter can increase the output of the antennas in the direction of computers farther
away or where there are more computers to allow for better coverage or throughput and decrease
the output of the antennas in directions where there are obstacles. Other changes in 802.11n
include: 1. 40 Mhz bandwidth (channel bonding) which can get data rates as high as 600Mpbs
which is a ten fold increase as compared with 802.11 a thru g. 2. Frame aggregation transmits
multiple MAC frames in a PHY packet. 3. Reverse direction protocol allows the ability to
transfer control of an air channel between stations. This is especially good if the receiver is
moving and the transmitters are trying to keep the best connection possible. 4. Support for
Voice over WLAN and multimedia streaming. This is especially important as more telephone
calls go VOIP and more video/audio content is available online. 5. The ability of access points to
change between 20 MHz and 40 MHz. This is good as the receivers for that access point changes.
The access point can speed up or slow down based on the receivers in its broadcast area. 6. Channel
bonding using two 20MHz channels. This turns the two 20 MHz band into a 40MHz band even
though the transmitter is not transmitting at 40MHz. This is good to increase throughput for
receivers that only communicate at the 20MHz

Analysis Of The Movie Brigadier John Clayton Headed
Brigadier John Clayton headed by Humvee to Colonel Lambert s Command Post, located a mile
north west of the capital. There was no way John was heading into Indian Country without some
help; he felt he could count on Colonel Lambert of the 3rd Infantry Regiment for help. It was a
thirty minute drive from the White House to the CP, Colonel Lambert had no idea that the General
was coming, so when he pulled up and entered the CP, he was surprised to see him. The two men
over the past several weeks had become friends, mutual respect for their military accomplishments
and how they perceived the country. General Clayton entered the CP; a loud ATTEN hut! was
heard. Everyone in the CP jumped to attention, John quickly called out, As you... Show more

Chiefs are keeping secrets from the President. General Clayton replied. To what end? We don t
know, I think the President is going to try and smoke out the reason while I m out of town.
Colonel Lambert looked at the General, Alright, what can I do for you? I m sure you re not
visiting to check on my health. The Colonel said while smiling. I m heading over to General
Lane and from there toward Fredericks. I need help. I m sorry John, but we don t have a
therapist here. Funny Johnny, you know what I mean. I need an escort, I don t foresee any
issues getting to General Lane, but I m expecting trouble heading toward Fredericks from there.
Why not leave the 82nd to take up the security and take the Marines with you? I hadn t
considered that, but I don t know that I have the authority to order the Marines to escort me to
Fredericks. Talk to Lane about it, that s the great thing about Marines, they re always looking
for a fight. I ll bet my eagle that they don t want to sit around pulling security. I can give you a
Platoon to get you to them if that s what you need. General Clayton sat there for a moment, he
knew his orders were fairly broad from the President, and Johnny was making a good argument.

problems. When can I have the Platoon?

I strongly believe that children should come with an instruction manual in different languages, after
all, even the most complicated computer system or VCR has a manual in three to four languages,

even a toll free help line. Now some people would say their own parent would be the help line
but not always does that work out. Our own parents advice can be, shall I say, out dated; for
example, many would suggest to us new parents to tell our child, what we say goes, or stop that

Frankly, the whole exchange of dialogue is exhausting and I have given in more times than I d like
to. I m sure that the lack of a Parenting Manual is not the reason for school uniform codes, but in
my household uniforms certainly would make mornings easier. School uniforms have a multitude
of rewards and benefits for both the parent and child and should be implemented in all elementary
schools. The rewards and benefits far outweigh any negative connotations that opposing adults
have. These benefits include: reduced headache and stress in the morning, reduced expense of
clothing, increased focus on academics in the classroom, increased building of team spirit among
classmates, and the, for lack of a better word, non discrimination on the popularity poll. I ll begin
with exploring the morning ritual and the reward a uniform has on this process. Critics opposed to
uniforms would say the solution to the miserable morning is to lay the clothes out at night, hence
avoiding such conflicts. This idea sounds good at the outset; however, it just creates conflicts at
bedtime so I haven t seen the advantages or solution to this nighttime ritual. On the other hand, the
uniform idea poses some great alternatives; first the choices are limited, usually to a few shirts,
sweaters, or sweatshirts, and one or two pairs of pants or shorts, and

President Washington s Miscalculation To Assist France
President Washington had made an agreement to assist France if they found themselves in a war.
However, Washington made this agreement assuming it would be when America had a stable
military. This miscalculation creates a situation in which Washington must decide whether he will
assist his recent ally or to break his agreement and stay neutral. Washington is bound by his
arrangement to keep his word and assist the French. However, if Washington aids the war in the
American s current state it will likely lead to further chaos in America s stability. The decision
Washington is provided effects not only him, but the entire population of America. With
Washington s verdict both choices effect the American population and the French population. The

A Brief History of Cuba
In 1492, Christopher Columbus landed on what is now Bariay, Holguin province. He claimed this
piece of land for Spain and originally named it Isla Juana after the Prince of Asturias, Juan. In the
mid 16th century an outbreak of measles wiped out two thirds of the natives, which most of them
had survived the outbreak of smallpox previously. In the 19th century Cubas people were slaves,
outraged slaves began to rebel with the intention to win independence from the Spanish. In April of
1898 Spain and Cuba went to war with Americas involvement which resulted in the Treaty of Paris
in August of 1898 where Spain ceded Puerto Rico, Philippines, Cuba, and Guam. On May 20, 1902
The United Statesof America allowed Cuba to gain its independence. The newly written constitution
stated that the United States retained the right to intervene in Cuba s affairs. In 1933 the Sergeants
revolt occurred. Leader of the revolt, Sergeant Fulgencio Batista overthrew Cespedes. After
Cespedes was overthrown Ramon Grau San Martin was named as provisional president, but in
1934 he resigned leaving Batista the presidency. Eventually Cuban natives were unsatisfied with the
way Batista ran the country; exiled in 1959 Batista fled to Portugal. Eventually Fidel Castrotook

But the power of Christ compels me to remember a cold white room where I, wrapped in a
cocoon of blankets, lying on a gurney surrounded by medical equipment, was nervously awaiting
the anesthesiologist. I must admit I felt a wash of relief when a nun in plain clothes arrived to
give the procedure God s blessing. After the surgery, I noticed a wooden crucifix on the wall of the
recovery room. The crucifix had a little featureless brass Jesus that looked like a ghost from where
I lay, and when the nurses injected me with the pain killers He would jump from His cross and fly
around the room like a candle flame with a mind of its own.
I d never had a beef against Jesus. Just like Santa Claus, He was a real person once, and I don t

almost two thousand years into the future. Jesus was just a simple madman who helped the sick,
much like the plainclothes nun, and in the end He was put to sleep like a mad dog. No, it was
God that I had the problem with, an insane God who thought that having His Son whacked was the

Lessons learnt by founders from first success If they give something to people which helps them
in day to day life they will buy it Even though there were 50 companies in India selling mobile
phones which is dominated by more than 60 percent share from Nokia there were still features,
niches and categories that could be carved out by the new entrants They realised that competing
on price alone with Big 3 players (Nokia, Samsung and LG) was not going to help They wanted to
create their own new unexplored categories They also realised that fierce competition among
mobile operators for subscribers would lead to multiple connections per user hence came the dual
SIM phone which became their second killer category (mentioned above)
Strategy to sustain in long term The team were thinking well ahead of time and did not want to be

They were very careful in their product strategy, though Micromax where at the lower end of the

Speech On Traditional Family
We all come into this world alone and we leave this world alone. This is something we heat
throughout our lives but if we investigate this statement, we find a very different reality. Since we
all are birthed through the body of woman, who joined with the body of man no one enters in this
world alone. Later we call those man and woman as our mother and father thus adding us in the
existing family, which on a large scale forms the human society. After all society is built on
limitless interactions among human beings and human beings are capable to act with endless
varieties. The social life would be confusing in the absence of social patterns that provide
guidelines in the form of values and norms.

Influences of the Medici Family During the Renaissance
The Renaissance was a very important time period in the world. Without the Renaissance many
things besides the art world would be different. Another thing would be the banking system. What
people consider art could be completely different. The Medici family really helped Florence
become the main city of the Renaissance. At one point, sienna would have been the main city
because people believed that just looking at their city was like art. Just looking at the city made
someone shiver. Siena had a few things that it could offer but nothing like what Florencehad to
offer. Although Siena was an advanced city at the end of the Middle Ages Florence surpassed it
to become the center of the Renaissance mostly due to the Medici family. At one point during the
Renaissance Siena was supposed to be the center of the Renaissance. Florence eventually took it
over to become the center (travelrental). Sienna enjoyed architecture and that was mostly what
people considered art during this time period. Another reason was because Siena was a beautiful
city with really pretty views. Nobody during this time period really knew what real art was except
for some really famous painters (spitz 110). The architecture on the buildings of Sienna was
absolutely outstanding. Many people came to visit just so that they could see the outstanding
detailed buildings. A visitor could not walk down a street in Siena without seeing one marvelous
building filled with design (courtauld).

Some of the research findings are listed below: Adults will commit to learning when they believe that the objectives are realistic and important for their personal and professional needs. Adults desire to be the origin of their own learning and should have some control over the what, who, how, why, when, and where of their learning. Coaching and other kinds of follow up support are needed because adult learners do not automatically transfer learning into daily practice. Adults need feedback on the results of their efforts. Adults need direct, concrete experiences for applying what they have learned to their work. Adult learners come to the learning process with self direction and a wide range of previous experiences. Employment for the purpose of coaching on a one to one basis responds to each of these characteristics of adult learners whether they lead schools or private businesses. The authors further discuss what coaching isn t. In order to understand the concept of coaching it is necessary to know what coaching is not, and to review some of the practices that are infrequently confused with it. Coaching is not training. What was Real GDP for 2009? The GDP for 2009 was 3.1 In 2009, GDP started to improve after four quarters of decline during The Great Recession. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... National income accounting records the level of activity in accounts such as total revenues earned by domestic corporations, wages paid to foreign and domestic workers, and the amount spent on sales and income taxes by corporations and individuals residing in the country. h. What is the difference between GNP and NI? GNP measures the market value of all final goods and services produced by a country s citizens or residents. The difference is subtle but important. GNP excludes economic activity that occurs in the U.S. but is owned by foreigners and includes American economic activity that occurs in other countries. GDP is place based whereas GNP is ownership based. So, if a foreigner creates an Internet startup in Silicon Valley, this will count as GDP, but not GNP. If General Electric opens a new plant in Poland, this investment will be included in GNP, but not GDP. i. How did NI change from 2008? In 2008, the money value of GDP expands to $4,500m but during the year, inflation is 3% causing the general index of prices to rise from a 2007 base year value of 100 to 103 in 2008. j. What caused these changes? The financial crisis was created from the housing bubble and the mortgage industry. Additionally, this caused a fall in national income, which lead growth in GDP in negative territory. I changed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The PEO model of practice has three main components which include the person (P), environment (E), and occupation (O), which will be used for the interventions in this case study. According to Rousseau, Potvin, Dutil, and Falta (2002), knowing the individual s environment and how it interacts with the person is one of the essential key factors needed to provide effective treatment and intervention in occupational therapy. • 5. Essay about The Bibi-Khanym Mosque The Bibi Khanym is a congregational mosque, masjid i jami` in Persian, built by Emperor Timur i Leng between 1399 and 1404 in Samarkand, present day Uzbekistan. Emperor Timur remarkably expanded his small tribe into the Timurid Dynasty, which lasted from 1370 to 1507. Timur showed great leadership skills and also had an interest in architecture. The results of his artistic interests are especially apparent in Samarkand, the capital of the Timurids during Timurs reign where art, architecture, and culture flourished. The Bibi Khanum exemplifies the vision that Timur held for Samarkand because of the monument s dominant and massive nature. It was under Timur that Samarkand became one of the most outstanding capitals of the then known world. It became a thriving city in which markets could be found containing leather, spices, silk, and precious stones. It was also a city of great architectural monuments where accomplished artisans and architects came or were brought from around the world to build in this capital. Timur s goal was to dominate the world and show the dominance of the Timurid dynasty. One of the main motives behind Timur s efforts was the desire to control the trade routes, which linked East and West. With great interest in trade, Timur had an ambitious strategy to reactivate the Silk Road and make it the link between Europe and China. In 1405, at the beginning of his last and greatest campaign, Timur died. Timur is memorialized for his ability as a nomad chief to transform his tribe into an empire using Samarkand as the capital to display the Timurid dynastic power. Timur was not only a great conqueror but also an memorable builder. Whenever he conquered a city that stood in the way of his army, he would bring back the artisans and materials to embellish his royal city of Samarkand. When Timur was not working on military efforts he was constantly involved in the building of these works created in Samarkand. Union Carbide s Bhopal Disaster Union Carbide s Bhopal Disaster In 1984, as if in a nightmare, a cloud of poison gas reached out and snuffed the lives of thousands of people in the sleeping city of Bhopal, India. The residents awoke to a terrible disaster, a chemical explosion whose memory could never be erased. At the center of the tragedy was the Union Carbide pesticide plant, and surrounding the accident were doubts and accusations of negligence and unethical practices. The Disaster On December 3, 1984, one of the world s worst chemical disasters occurred at the Union Carbide pesticide plant in Bhopal, India. Author David Weir quoted a United Nations official who wished to remain anonymous when he said, Even those companies that say they will maintain the same standards as in the developed world find it difficult to resist the temptation to take a shortcut. Even if they have a good design for their plant, however, there s no good infrastructure in the underdeveloped countries. Even if they put it away from population centers, who will check and control that the people don t come in around it? (Newton Dillingham, 2002, p. 90). Had Union Carbide exercised more responsibility and ethics from the very beginning, perhaps the Bhopal disaster would have been avoided. Preventing Future Disasters The Bhopal accident served as a wake up call for the chemical industry (Lang, 1984, para. 23). In response, the Chemical Manufacturers Association created a program called Responsible CareВ®, the chemical industry s commitment to the continuous improvement of environmental, health, safety and security performance (Overview, 2004, para. 1). Jeff Lipton, chief executive of Nova Chemicals Corp stated, When the average person thinks about chemicals, they think about risks and hazards instead of benefits (Herrick, 2003, para. 9). • 7. Effects Of Stress On The Body Memory performance can often be hijacked by a given load of stress on the body. Stress is both a versatile agent that disrupts the human body s normal mental, physical, and emotional state, and the body s natural reaction to change (Staal, 2004). The effects of this amorphous phenomenon have been studied from a number of angles including but not limited to stress related sleep pattern disturbances, mood swings, attention spans, weight gain, long term illnesses, and cognitive function. This review will focus on the effects of psychological stress on people s ability to encode, store, and retain memories. When the human body is presented with a stressful situation, the body enters a state of emergency called the fight or flight response, also known as the acute stress response. Involuntarily, the body s sympathetic nervous system is aroused and releases adrenaline, norepinephrine, and cortisol from the adrenal glands of the brain. These hormones trigger a series of physiological responses facilitating acceleration in heart rate and breathing, constriction of blood vessels, relaxed bladder, inhibition of metabolic digestion, tightened muscles, and sharper vision due to pupil dilation. This is a result of the human body instinctively protecting itself from threat of pain or injury by shutting down all of the nonessential systems, and supplying the bodily systems needed to respond to the emergency with its necessary components, like sufficient amounts of oxygen and ... However, other groups have noted long term improvements in joint pain from glucosamine supplementation alone [8], and further enhanced effectiveness of combined glucosamine sulfate and chondroitin sulfate, rather than the separate use of either supplement [5, 9]. The question of their effectiveness in JCT populations is subject to ongoing debate. There has been growing interest in eggshell membrane (EM) supplementation as a treatment for joint pain, as it does not present the side effects of conventional treatments (NSAIDs). Eggshells and their membranes have been extensively analyzed 2 Eggshell Membrane Reduces Joint Pain for their components: the separate layers of the eggshell have been analyzed and found to contain several types of collagen (types X, I, V) [10 12]. Additionally, EM has been found to have notably high concentrations of a number of amino acids [13], collagenlike proteins [14 16], enzymes [17 19] and glycosminoglycans (GAGs). Glycosaminoglycans are of high interest, as they play key roles in connective tissue [20]. Glucosamine, hyaluronic acid and chondritin sulfate are important GAGs in EM (21, 22). After six months, she is still unable to return to work. She has no income from her job, and the insurance premium payments are financially burdensome. • 10. Theme Of Symbolism In Chronicle Of A Death Foretold Of the many literary devices used by writers to make their work more powerful and layered, symbolism is one of the most effective, and Gabriel Garcia Marquez s Chronicle of a Death Foretold is a text that relies heavily on its use to develop its narrative. The novella recounts, in the form of a pseudo journalistic reconstruction, the murder of Santiago Nasar in a small Colombian town in the mid 1900 s. Through the course of the novel, Marquez employs various symbols to reinforce key ideas, themes and techniques. This helps the novella break the monotony of a linear storyline and unfolds the plot in a unique way that compounds both effect and meaning. Moreover, when Pedro plans to fatally stab Santiago, he looks for his heart almost in his armpit, where pigs have it . Thus by likening Santiago to a pig, Gabriel Marquez emphasizes the significance of the pig knives as a symbol. The use of the pig knives as a murder weapon is also symbolic of the crassness of the decision to murder Santiago. The novel states that the Vicario brothers had less than a day to plan the execution of Santiago, since the were told of their sister s loss of virginity a short time before three on the morning they killed Santiago Nassar. Earlier in the novel, it is also mentioned that the brothers were known to slaughter the same hogs they raised, a fact that links to the idea that the twins looked at Santiago as simply another hog to slaughter , and therefore they used the same weapon to murder ... TPSR is built upon the foundation of putting kids first, human decency, holistic self development, and as Nick Forsberg said a way of being (19). It is important for a teacher to put aside personal goals and achievements to focus on the students. The students well being and personal growth must be the focal point. When the warriors slept this wicked creature would come and murder them without any remorse. It may be that at one point Grendel was a human much like Beowulf. Yet, so as to save his life, he left behind his hand, his arm and shoulder (957 959). He has the appearance of a man and he has a mother, but the humanness of Grendel has disappeared, and what remains is a creature that as the text says, the Creator had condemned. Instead of saying that Grendel was just a real bad guy, through these descriptions, he has taken on a supernatural or mystical quality. God was even concerned enough to curse Grendel for his atrocities. This heightened importance of the characters is continued in the descriptions of Beowulf. We can liken Beowulf to a religious man. He seems to be a man ordained to carry out God s righteousness. When he arrives in the land of the Danes, the first thing he and his crew does is thank God for a safe passage (225 226). Wulfgar shortly after Beowulf s arrival says, I am convinced that Holy God, of His great mercy, has directed him to us West Danes and that he means to come to grips with Grendel (378 381). He had begun an investigation, as he imagined, with the severe and equal integrity of a judge, desirous only of truth, even as if the question involved no more than the air drawn lines and figures of a geometrical problem, instead of humanpassions, and wrongs inflicted on himself. But, as he proceeded, a terrible fascination, a kind of fierce, though still calm, necessity seized the old man within its gripe, and never set him free again, until he had done all its bidding. He now dug into the poor clergyman s heart, like a miner searching for gold; or, rather,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... And ever, after such an outpouring, O, what a relief have I witnessed in those sinful brethren! even as in one who at last draws free air, after long stifling with his own polluted breath. How can it be otherwise? Why should a wretched man, guilty, we will say, of murder, prefer to keep the dead corpse buried in his own heart, rather than fling it forth at once, and let the universe take care of it! 13 Yet some men bury their secrets thus, observed the calm physician.14 True; there are such men, answered Mr. Dimmesdale. But, not to suggest more obvious reasons, it may be that they are kept silent by the very constitution of their nature. Or, can we not suppose it? guilty as they may be, retaining, nevertheless, a zeal for God s glory and man s welfare, they shrink from displaying themselves black and filthy in the view of men; because, thenceforward, no good can be achieved by them; no evil of the past be redeemed by better service. Before reading this chapter, I had no idea that there are so many types of nonverbal communication. One of the major ways that we nonverbally communicate is through facial expressions. Personally, I have never considered touching someone as communication, but it really is. For example, if someone is sad and are given a hug it is telling that person that they care about them. • 31. Persuasive Essay On Driving On October 6th, 2011 I was scheduled at 8:45 am to take my driver s license exam. I had been preparing for this day the moment I received my temps six months prior. Instead of my grandfather drive me to his home from high school every day, I demanded to start driving us home. When my mom would come home late at night to pick me up from my grandparents house to take me to my actual home I would drive us too. I was relentless when it came to practicing driving. On late nights, I would take my future car, a 98 two door ford to a soybean field behind my house and practice parallel parking. Although this may seem like overkill, driving was something I wanted more than anything. You see, there were many reasons I wanted to drive so bad, one, because of the freedom it would give me and two, I wanted to be able to see something I had put so much time and effort into become a reality. It was not the same as studying for a test, it was a life skill that would come in handy almost every day of my life. At this point my life was not how I had pictured it being, and when I compared it to others in my peer circle I realized how much of my life I had missed out on due to my father s parenting style, my mother s inability to stand up for herself, and a series of other unfortunate events that never seemed to let up. • 33. American Culture In Nigeria Paper 2 Nigerian society changed significantly with the introduction of European values. Of those changes one of the greatest was the introduction of individualism, rather than the pride people had in the tribal system. The rise of individualism changes every society, but the Nigerian society was greatly affected and saw more Nigerian trying to leave to live in other countries with greater opportunities. One example of this would be Elvis in the short story Graceland, who wanted to move to America to pursue a career as an Elvis impersonator. This profession is an odd one, especially considering the Nigerian culture, but with the rise in individualism there is more in an emphasis on individual dreams in the society. This dream job helps to illuminate the cultural difference that began to occur once western values and ideas took prominence in the Nigerian culture changing the culture into more a European or American society with individualism being a cornerstone in the society.... However, many enterprising DIY riggers have found that a few plastic D rings and some duct tape will make a handy group of mounting and attachment points on an inflatable kayak. There is no need for a trailer or roof rack, since they easily will fit into the trunk of even a compact car, or into the back seat. This ability to fit into a small space adds another big benefit, storage of your kayak in the off season. While storing your rigid kayak in the winter months usually means either having sufficient garage space, a storage building, or an outside rack or cradle of some kind, a deflated kayak will usually need no more storage space than that of a cooler. • 35. Beloved By Toni Morrison Literary Devices There are always multiple interpretations of a text that depend on the reader s experiences. Words work the same way yet, readers want to find the correct interpretation. Toni Morrison writes in her foreword for Beloved that in order to render enslavement as a personal experience, language must get out of the way (xix). The foreword sets up the reader to grapple with the fact that Morrison wants them to view the text through more than one lens, lenses that may not come from their personal experiences but still valid lenses, and to experience the text through these many perspectives. Morrison comments on a reader s desire for a singular lens through Sethe, Paul D, Baby Suggs and Denver s different meanings of the word tree. Based on her experiences the word tree represents the past and death for Sethe. In Sethe s memory she remembered boys hanging from the most beautiful sycamores in the world. • 51. Personal Narrative – Atheist Essay Personal Narrative Atheist I didn t ask for the pastor to come over. I would have much rather been left alone to watch daytime TV. True, I was beginning to feel I little isolated, but some sissy voiced holy man I hardly knew wasn t going to make me feel any better. But it was standard policy to notify the church when one of its fold has been hospitalized, for prayer requests and all that mush, and when the pastor heard that I was already home, he felt obligated to visit, as if seeing my swollen, drooling face was somehow doing me a favor. If only I could have had the surgery a year ago, when I still believed in God, but the surgeon made me wear these braces first, buying me plenty of time to attend my freshman year of college. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But the power of Christ compels me to remember a cold white room where I, wrapped in a cocoon of blankets, lying on a gurney surrounded by medical equipment, was nervously awaiting the anesthesiologist. I must admit I felt a wash of relief when a nun in plain clothes arrived to give the procedure God s blessing. After the surgery, I noticed a wooden crucifix on the wall of the recovery room. The crucifix had a little featureless brass Jesus that looked like a ghost from where I lay, and when the nurses injected me with the pain killers He would jump from His cross and fly around the room like a candle flame with a mind of its own. I d never had a beef against Jesus. Just like Santa Claus, He was a real person once, and I don t think He expected His life to have impacted the world as much as it did. I mean anyone would be stunned to learn that gun toting right wing bullfrog throated hillbillies were worshipping you almost two thousand years into the future. Jesus was just a simple madman who helped the sick, much like the plainclothes nun, and in the end He was put to sleep like a mad dog. No, it was God that I had the problem with, an insane God who thought that having His Son whacked was the best idea He ever had. The doorbell rang. Mom stuffed the rest of my dirty clothes into the closet, saying That must be him. As she disappeared into the hallway, I quickly grabbed a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 53. Speech On Traditional Family We all come into this world alone and we leave this world alone. This is something we heat throughout our lives but if we investigate this statement, we find a very different reality. Since we all are birthed through the body of woman, who joined with the body of man no one enters in this world alone. Later we call those man and woman as our mother and father thus adding us in the existing family, which on a large scale forms the human society. After all society is built on limitless interactions among human beings and human beings are capable to act with endless varieties. The social life would be confusing in the absence of social patterns that provide guidelines in the form of values and norms. These traditional family values frequently ... • 54. Influences of the Medici Family During the Renaissance The Renaissance was a very important time period in the world. Without the Renaissance many things besides the art world would be different. Another thing would be the banking system. What people consider art could be completely different. The Medici family really helped Florence become the main city of the Renaissance. At one point, sienna would have been the main city because people believed that just looking at their city was like art. Just looking at the city made someone shiver. Siena had a few things that it could offer but nothing like what Florencehad to offer. Although Siena was an advanced city at the end of the Middle Ages Florence surpassed it to become the center of the Renaissance mostly due to the Medici family. At one point during the Renaissance Siena was supposed to be the center of the Renaissance. Florence eventually took it over to become the center (travelrental). Sienna enjoyed architecture and that was mostly what people considered art during this time period. Another reason was because Siena was a beautiful city with really pretty views. Nobody during this time period really knew what real art was except for some really famous painters (spitz 110). The architecture on the buildings of Sienna was absolutely outstanding. Many people came to visit just so that they could see the outstanding detailed buildings. A visitor could not walk down a street in Siena without seeing one marvelous building filled with design (courtauld). Siena was a city that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
