Effective Teacher Essay
Teachers play an important role in student s life. The most powerful role model for students are
teachers, they are responsible to shape their future. Effective teaching is when a teacher educates to
the best interest of his students. An effective teacher should have an outstanding knowledge of the
contents they are teaching; they should explain the contents in extensive details and use different
strategies to enhance student s interest and learning. Moreover, an effective teacher should trust their
students and understand their social and emotional needs. They should have a positive assumption for
students success and believe that all students are capable to assess higher forms of thinking and
learning, if they give them appropriate and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mr. Mike is a math teacher I am observing at International High school. He has what it takes to be an
effective teacher. His first class starts at 9:15 am every day; he arrives to class early to get everything
set up before the students come in. Students arrive to class on time; Mr. Mike already has the question
for the new topic on the smart board. He starts his lesson by recalling what they learned in the
previous class. Then he introduces the new topic along with an interesting story; which seems to grab
student s attention. Mr. Mike shows a tremendous understanding and knowledge about the topic. The
topic is about a word problem where students have to guess how many people could fit on a table if
they keep adding tables together. Students have to draw a diagram of the situations; then they have to
find a formula to illustrate the problem. After finding the formula, they have to use it to calculate how
many people could fit if there are 50 or more tables together. Mr. Mike explains the problem in details.
The project he uses reinforced students to use different representation of these mathematical problems.
Every student completed the assignment. As a class, they discussed the problem and to assess learning
Mr. Mike provides them with a practice test where they had to make up their word problem and solve
it in the same manner as they did before. Mr. Mike knows how to fairly control the

Monitoring System
Chapter 1
INTRODUCTION
Many companies today use information as a basis to increase productivity, producing quality products,
providing quality services, creating customer confidence, and making timely decisions.
As such, information technology has become the prime reason for the success and failure of a
company to compete in business. This illustrates the impact of information technology on business
operations today. As a result, designing an information system of high quality is important so that
organisations can compete successfully in the global market.
Information systems experts need to understand the business operation of a company before they can
design a comprehensive system. Every business is likely to be different. ... Show more content on

The purpose of the design phase is to determine the specified problem and plan a solution for the
specified problem. We used the data flow diagram to show the flow of data within the existing system
and the proposed system. Once the design is complete, most of the major decisions about the proposed
system have been made.
Chapter 4.0
THE EXISTING SYSTEM
An information system commonly refers to a basic computer system but may also describe a telephone
switching or environmental controlling system. The IS involves resources for shared or processed
information, as well as the people who manage the system. People are considered part of the system
because without them, systems would not operate correctly.
There are many types of information systems, depending on the need they are designed to fill. An
operations support system, such as a transaction processing system, converts business data (financial
transactions) into valuable information. Similarly, a management information system uses database
information to output reports, helping users and businesses make decisions based on extracted data.
In a decision support system, data is pulled from various sources and then reviewed by managers, who
make determinations based on the compiled data. An executive information system is useful for

Agricultural Revolution Vs Open Field System
Pranav Muthuraman Period 1 Crites Chapter 17 AP Euro Questions The agricultural revolution
included several inventions and ideas like enclosures, crop rotations, and various tools made to make
farming more efficient in England and Netherlands but spread to the rest of Europe as well after the
success of these inventions led to more food and less disease. First, an enclosure is a private plot of
land owned by the landlord who hires landless workers to tend to the crops and animals on the land.
This system is considered an improvement compared to the open field system because it allows the
idea of crop rotation to take place. Crop rotations was the planting of different crops over different

The slave trade impacted africa because that was the major source of slaves used in the Americas and
throughout Europe. African people were abducted or sold by their chiefs to the Europeans to become a
slave for the rest of their lives. The slaves were brought from Africa for very high prices and taken to
Europe where they were sold for even higher and then taken to the Americas to work in plantations,
farms, and houses. The trade impacted the Americas because that s where many of the new slaves
were being sold to in order to work on the new farms and plantations there. The slaves were the reason
that colonists were able to make profits in the colonies. The use of slaves was abolished in 1807 due to
the decrease of the need for slaves in foreign countries and the increase in the belief that the use of

The Primary Care Clinic

HSA 300 Health Services Organization Management
Professor Janet Kaplan
The Primary Care Clinic
Many important factors go into play when running a healthcare organization. I plan to discuss some of
the key components that have influenced the development of this health care facility. The clinic
mission statement will be stated and addressed to clear up any confusion. I plan to identify the three
performance measures I would use to measure the clinic s effectiveness and provide the rationale for
each performance measure. I will also explain ways in which I will approach the decisions on
expansions. I will also describe the role the primary clinic has played in the healthcare systems in our

(2010). This information is obtained through financial reports, complaint records, and ongoing client
surveys. The second performance measure I would use would be responsive communication. This
measures satisfaction surveys retention, absenteeism, and vacancy measures. These measures will let
us know what is going within the organization. Some examples are percent of loyal associates, percent
of RN positions are vacant, and tenure of associates. The concept of this is associate satisfaction,
retention, and complaints. In order to provide excellent care, we will need to know what the staff is
feeling. Happy employees mean better performance which equals better patient care. For the third
measure, I would focus on corporate design. Corporate design measures market share, efficacy of care,
per capita cost of care, improvements unmet or delayed and variation in internal performance. The
concept behind this measure is to find the extent of service, uniformity of performance, and
competitor relations. Surveys are a big part of obtaining all this information and provide a great deal
of knowledge on how well this organization is performing.

Mechanical Engineering Advancements In The Automobile...
Mechanical Engineering Advancements in the Automobile Industry The field of mechanical
engineering is a rather diverse one. Mechanical engineering is involved with everything that moves
which makes it the broadest field of engineering to study. Mechanical engineers focus on creating a
component, machine, or an entire process to supply people with the goods or services they want, need,
or require for life. The automotive industry relies heavily on the field of mechanical engineering to
improve safety, fuel consumption, and emissions control. The advancements in mechanical
engineering over the past few years have improved greatly especially in the automobile industry
where the engines of automobiles are quieter, faster, and more fuel efficient. As technology advances
in society, so do the fields of study that utilize these updated forms of technology. Mechanical
engineers have improved automobile engines based on these technologic advances. Currently, the
areas where engineers are focused include enhancing the transmissions, improving batteries by
changing their chemistries, decreasing the load of automobiles, and creating hybrids. With
improvement to these areas, the automobile engines are able to function more efficiently while
simultaneously decreasing their environmental impact. The transmission of an automobile is
responsible for supplying the torque and power to the wheels of the automobile. The main source of
energy waste in the transmission system is

seasoned citizen. Maxine is a Caucasian female born in rural, Mullens, West Virginia in 1926. She is
the only child of a Southern Baptist, middle class family. Joseph Hammond, her father, was a farmer.
Her mother, Ruby, was a full time parent and prided herself on running the house. Maxine explained
that farmers wife s were routinely responsible for the day to day operations of the household. Her

What is your definition of aging? Maxine thought this question was quite basic. However, after much
thought she stated that aging is simply advancing in age. Upon further questioning she explained that
her definition is a view of the total process of aging. She does not define aging in a biological,
functional, psychological, sociologic or spiritual domain. #61623; What are you key accomplishments

society typically views as dramatic. Her most notable accomplishment is living to be seventy two
years old. Once we acknowledged her age, she began to detail her almost life long connection with her
church and subsequent Christian community. She stressed that she has been an active, almost lifelong
member of this Christian community for the last fifty four years. During a humorous moment she

Motivation Theories Of Motivation
INTRODUCTION The Fremont plant of General Motors was founded in 1965. After 17 years of
operation, the plant was closed due to experiencing labour management conflict. Soon after the
shutdown, GM and Toyota vehicles cooperated to reopen the plant called New United Manufacturing,
Inc (NUMMI), which lately become one of the most successful plants in the car manufacturing
industry. In order for NUMMI to succeed, different management methods were applied, especially
various strategies which motivated the employees. This essay will attempt to define motivation,
analyse its theories, discuss the motivation lessons from the practices of NUMMI case study and then
some recommendations will be given. DEFINITION Motivation is defined as a psychological force
that stimulates a person to act toward the desired objectives and maintain goal oriented behaviour to
achieve a specific goal (Helen 2013). In the workplace, motivation is one of the most significant
factors determining the effectiveness and efficiency. Motivation is positively related to employees
willingness in performing their job duties which can significantly affect the business growth. Thus, the
more motivated the workers are, the more successful the organisation will be (Stanley 2015).

the employee motivation by formally recognising and rewarding individuals for their excellent

The Pros And Cons Of Traditional Evangelistic Meetings
evangelistic efforts are usually conducted by a charismatic preacher who carries the burden of
presenting truth, pretty much by himself. Usually, there are no small groups and no meaningful
interface between church members and the public who come to these large meetings. Almost every
year now, there are evangelistic efforts that are spread around the world by satellite down links.
Thousands of churches can receive the evangelistic message simultaneously. This has resulted in tens
of thousands of baptism. This method of evangelism fails to create friendships between church
members and the public who attend these meetings.
In traditional evangelistic efforts, if local church members are involved, they are usually relegated to
the role of helping ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Health evangelism programs featuring small group interactions between the public and church
members creates one on one relationships and sustains them. Solid, lasting friendships are formed.
Baptisms resulting from health evangelism programs where friendships are made, are much more
likely to stay in the church than baptisms resulting from traditional evangelistic activities.
Health evangelism programs will prepare community people to be exposed to more traditional
evangelistic meetings at some subsequent time. Health evangelism and traditional evangelistic
meetings should not be piggy backed one on the other but each should be conducted often enough that
those who are ready for indoctrination can avail themselves of a traditional evangelistic crusade. What
I have found works best is for health evangelism programs to be offered on a regular, continuing basis
on one track and traditional evangelistic efforts at regular intervals on another track. The purpose of
each track is clear. The health evangelism track is health oriented but creates firm friendships with
church members and introduces a person to God as the agent of behavior change in the daily life. The
traditional evangelistic crusade track is for the purpose of broadening the spiritual understanding and
experience of an individual along doctrinal lines. This prepares a person for full membership in the
church. More about these parallel tracks in a later

Video Gameplay Of The Games Consoles
The industry that I have chosen to analyse within this essay is Games Consoles; this particular
industry was chosen because I have a personal interest and knowledge of the market, which I believe,
will help me towards analysing it. The Games consoles industry includes both static and portable
consoles, static consoles being devices which are played through a television as opposed to portable
devices which can be played on phones and tablets. According to (Mintel 2014) there is currently a big
three who dominate the static games consoles Xbox, PlayStation and Wii. All three of these games
consoles are owned by separate companies. Xbox is developed by Microsoft, PlayStation developed
by Sony and Wii developed by Nintendo. Currently within the market there are two consoles for each
of Xbox and PlayStation, as 2014 sees the first year that the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 have been on
sale since it was released in November 2013. These join the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles
which have now been on the market for many years. In the diagram below on the left from (Mintel
2014) by VGChartz we can see it illustrates that the big three currently control 100% of the static
console industry with Xbox having a market share of 44%, PlayStation 47% and Wii 9%. Although as
we can see above to the left Nintendo is in much difficulty within the static console market with its
Wii and Wii U consoles, the company still dominates the portable console market. The market

My Personal Leadership Challenge Analysis
The new ways of thinking that will help me to readdress my personal leadership challenge involves
better understanding the concepts of values based leadership, situational leadership, and style, skills,
and trait approaches to leadership.
Values based leadership revolves around how the values that people have, influence the decisions they
make and the actions they take. Northouse mentions that because leaders usually have more power
and control than followers, they also have more responsibility to be sensitive to how their leadership
affects followers lives (2013, p. 428). Due to this strong statement, working to further understand the
major types of values that relate to leadership will be important for me to pin point which values my
supervisor distinctively displays and which values he does not. Being able to understand this
information is key as values are important to understanding leadership because they explain the focus
and direction of peoples actions (Fernandez Hogan, 2002) and in this case, my supervisor s actions.
Two values that are particularly interesting are the values of being just and being respectful. My
supervisor strongly portrays the value of equality as he make[s] it a top priority to treat all of [his]
subordinates in an equal manner (Northouse, 2013, p.433). He displays this when he gathers all
instructors for a talk before we go to teach swimming lessons. On the contrary, although my
supervisor has passion, he can come off as being ignorant

Women s Inequality In Honduras
Throughout history, women have been viewed as the inferior sex. Due to this, women have faced
discrimination all over the world. This has had many negative impacts on the lives women, one of
these being on their health. Poor health in women is often associated with domestic and sexual
violence, cultural and religious oppression, and lack of access to education, as well as many other
factors. One of the most delicate things that a woman can go through is pregnancy. Many women
around the world have to give birth without the assistance of a professional and die during childbirth
or during the 48 hour period after. Many of these deaths can be avoided if the appropriate measures

Stave Puzzle attracts me with a perfect match of the target market rich fine people who relish the

Question 2: Which are you most pessimistic about? Why?
Answer: Speaking about the products I m most pessimistic about I d mention PB Slices first; I hardly
believe in a commercial success of a collapsible biking wheel, too. But in both cases I see the ways for
improvement. I will explain my point in succession and start from PB Slices.
Basically, there are many good examples of market success of the ideas built up on people s total
laziness assumption: remote control, fast food, automatic dishwasher and washing machine, baby
diapers, automatic gear transmission... They all came up at the right time and were able to improve
people s lives by a) saving time and b) doing things better than their time consuming predecessors. I
do not think that PB Slices can be described in the same terms.
First, it is time saving, convenient and does not require knife usage. But is it such a big deal to spend
20 more seconds and to make a normal sandwich, to put a knife into a sink and to wash it later with all
the dishes? I doubt that. Second, the slices look very thin and many peanut butter lovers claim that

Immigration Reform In Arizona
Introduction Back in 2007 there were several concerns over immigration as a whole and exploding
proportions of illegal immigrants crossing the border in the Arizona area. Arizona attempted to resolve
the influx of people across the border by imposing heavy fines on employers hiring illegal immigrants.
At that time in Arizona there was a democratic governor Janet Napolitano that continually vetoed the
Arizona s legislature attempt to reduce illegal immigration. In 2009 the state replaced the Democratic
governor with a Republican governor Jan Brewer who was supportive of reforms for immigration in
Arizona. In 2010 the immigration problem was so sever that Arizona passed legislation allowing the
state to enforce federal law for identification of legal immigration into the United States. This sparked
a nation wide discussion on illegal immigration and immigration reform. The problem with
immigration is that the federal government has failed to control immigrants coming into the U.S.
illegally. This has caused a substantial increase in illegal immigration that threatens the U.S. economy.
There continues to be uncertainty on how to approach the legalized immigration into the U.S. The
federal government has attempted since 1975 to enact laws that resolve the issue but the laws continue
to fall short of fixing the problem. One of the democratic approaches to solve the problem is to give
all illegal immigrants citizenship unless they are not in good standings within

The Importance Of Arts Integration In Education
Arts integration is defined as the investigation of curricular content through artistic explorations. In
this process, the arts provide an avenue for rigorous investigation, representation, expression, and
reflection of both curricular content and the art form itself (as cited in Donovan Pascale, 2012, p. 14).
As previously discussed, the arts are a boon to those who seek to make their curriculum design more
inclusive of all types of learners, and contributes to the social curriculum. Even beyond those
applications, arts integration can truly benefit all educators.
The arts teach a number of practical skills outside of the primary academic curriculum that teachers
are responsible for fostering. Notably, the four Cs (communication, collaboration, critical thinking and
creativity) of 21st century learning each work hand in hand with the arts. If we consider the arts as
modes of communication, we see that students are more clearly able to demonstrate learning, ask
questions, and connect with peers and teachers alike. The more languages a teacher can use, the better
chance he or she has to speak (and listen to) diverse students. We need many languages to educate our
children for their present and future lives (Powell, 1997, p. 5). Students who struggle with traditional
classroom languages may find themselves suddenly able to participate in a world that was closed to
them before. This is particularly important in health education, where the stakes are immensely high

Philosophy of Reality and Dreams by Chuang-tzu and Ibn...
Ibn al Arabi and Chuang tzu were and continue to be very influential to the study of both religion and
philosophy. Their separate notions of dream and reality have survived through the centuries and we
continue to attempt to explain and analyze them today. In this paper I will first examine Ibn al Arabi s
concept of dream and reality and then move on to study Chuang tzu s thoughts on the subject. After
reviewing both of these constructs I will compare and contrast some of the similarities and differences
between the two. Through this analysis I will show that although they were written hundreds of years
and thousands of miles apart, their conclusions on dream and reality are strikingly similar. The
Philosophers Ibn al Arabi was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also famous for his mystic philosophy is the great Chuang tzu. Although not much is known about the
Chinese Taoist writer, it is believed he was born around 369 B.C.E. on the border of Shandong and
Henan provinces, and lived as a hermit until his death c.286 B.C.E. Scholars ascribe to Chuang tzu at
least some of the writing in the Taoist book which shares his name (the Chuang tzu). In this book,
Chuang tzu uses wit, satire, analysis, and essays to explore many questions of philosophy, including
the essence of reality and perception. Today, Chuang tzu is considered to be one of the founders of
Taoist philosophical thought, and his book is recognized as one of the holy scriptures of Taoism. The
Chuang tzu has captivated Chinese readers and encouraged philosophical discussion of its teachings
for over two thousand years. Ibn `Arabi on Dream and Reality In his work Bezels of Wisdom, Ibn al
Arabi implies that all of that which we perceive as reality is, in fact a dream. Even in our dreams we
are dreaming. Although most of us are unaware that we are dreaming, all that we see, feel, and hear is
an illusion, a symbolic manifestation of the true Reality. According to Ibn al Arabi, All men are asleep;
only when they die, do they wake up. In the above statement Ibn al Arabi does not mean that we must
die in order to understand true Reality. He is referring to the process humans must undergo in order to
interpret perceived reality to

The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn By Mark Twain Essay
A study of Mark Twain s Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is an adventure in understanding changes in
America itself. The book, at the center of American geography and consciousness, asks readers to
reexamine definitions of civilization and freedom, right and wrong, social responsibility and
inhumanity. Published in 1885, the novel recounts those pre civil war days when the controversy over
slavery, with designated slave and Free states, disfigured the face of America and its view of itself as a
land of the free. Both geographically and otherwise, the story is an examination of life at the center:
the center of America s premier river, the Mississippi in the middle of the geographical United states,
with slave states below, free states above, which is the route toward freedom and escape for Huck and
Jim; the center of one of the foremost conflicts on American soil, slavery, which soon results in a civil
war; the center of the coming of age of both a young man and a nation that struggle to understand
redefinitions of nationhood and freedom, right and wrong; and the center of a shift from Romanticism
to Realism in art and letters that would provide for a new way for Americans to express and re create
themselves. The novel offers an excellent example of American picaresque fiction and meaningful use
of dialect, although this dialect may be difficult reading for students for whom English is not a first
language. Although the final chapters of the book seem rushed and rife with

The Outsiders In The Outsiders By S. E Hinton
The book The Outsiders by S.E Hinton, Ponyboy forms a different identity throughout the book. At
the beginning of the book, Ponyboy s identity is an outsider to the greasers and to his community. He
does different things, like watch movies without being disturbing, he s good in school and he likes to
read books. Out of the gang Ponyboy didn t have friends. His gang doesn t read books or watch
movies like he does. The greasers just work hard and long on cars at gas stations. Ponyboy has
potential though, he is smart. Ponyboy s identity is different then the the others in his gang. On page 2,
it says, When I see a movie with someone it s kind of uncomfortable, like having someone read your
book over your shoulder. I m different that way. He felt like he was an outsider to everyone because he
was different. People in his gang had gone to jail and Ponyboy stayed good, different. In the text
Doing the Right Thing, four football players are different than other people. They did the right thing
when others would ve stolen. They acted different, like Ponyboy. They text said, Thomas James pulled

the cash register and laid it on the counter... One of them took 80 cents out of his pocket and laid it on
the counter too. Tax. The four football players acted differently then how people normally do. Like

Examples Of Policy Issues Related To Maternal Health
Policy issues related to maternal and child Health
Introduction
Maternal and child mortality remains a major public health problem for Kenya. Despite the
Government s commitment to the international and regional health agenda, the country has lagged
behind in meeting most of the targets set in the international and regional declarations. Besides
communicable diseases, lifestyle related diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, heart disease and
cancers are increasing, hence posing a threat to the health care system in terms of diverting resources
from basic health care services to these diseases. The huge burden of disease is due primarily to
pervasive poverty, compounded by years of erratic application of policy, with the result that most of
the population lacks the enabling environment for health, such as good nutrition, clean water, quality
housing and conducive living environment. Weak public healths systems characterized by inadequate
financial and human resources, inefficient support systems, and poorly coordinated responses to
public health problems are responsible for the poor performance of the health care system. The
Government s budget allocation to health care, which is currently at 8%, is far short of the 15% target
agreed in the Abuja Declaration.2 For example, the number of nurses and doctors per population is
33/100,000 and 17/100,000, respectively, which is below the standard recommended by the World
Health Organization (WHO). Kenya will, therefore, fail to

Batman Vs. Superman Compare
In the 1930s two characters appeared in comic literature that became icons of pop culture. Batman and
Superman are the golden boys of DC comics and are considered the most popular of all superheroes.
Being around for over seventy years these two have acquired a near endless fan base of all ages. The
two kings of comics have often been portrayed as allies, though they have different views on
situations. The argument of who is truly the better hero has been around since their creation. To
compare these two juggernauts we must look at their defining traits; origin of the hero, their alter egos,
and of course their strengths and weaknesses. First let us look at the man of steel, Superman was born

April 2nd Chainsaw Reflection
Out of the chapters we ve read this week, chapter April 2nd Chainsaw drew my interest the most. The
author was very unpleased with the maintenance crew cutting and bulldozing unwanted trees from the
edge of the golf course. Instead of putting the cut down trees to any good use, they decided to just
dumped them off the cliff, but what they didn t know is that these trees will provide extra salamander
habitat. So that s a cool pro out of a con. With maintenance cutting down these trees, many inhabitants
will be destroyed in the process which would take decades to recover. Reading the April 2nd
Chainsaw influenced me to think about how I use natural resources in the future. In other words, how
could I be more sustainable with the lifestyle

Article Review On Donald Trump
Among the websites that were listed for us to examine were some that focused on certain topics such
as the salaries of our congressmen and the happenings of the US treasury, and others that were broad
and covered many topics. I found myself spending more time on these websites that covered many
topics. The Daily Caller is one of these broad websites that featured the current events in politics, the
international community, entertainment, sports and business. The political section on the Daily Caller
seems to favor a more conservative stance, but is by no means a conservative website. Donald Trump
of course was making news, with his words that were directed to North Korea during his speech at an

People have been pushing for a more background checks and calling for convicted domestic abusers to
not be allowed guns. The Daily Caller reported that there is in fact already such a law in place. In 1996
there was a federal law passed that prohibits people who have been charged with domestic violence
from purchasing or possessing guns. In 2016 the Supreme Court upheld this law. Gun control is a
touchy subject, and I personally feel that the laws that the government enacts can always be
circumvented. For example, this Devin Kelley should never have been allowed to buy a gun, and yet
he did. The increase in recent years of mass shootings is not due to a more readily available supply of
guns and ammo or laxer laws, rather it is the people. These nut jobs are the crux of the problem, and I
don t have a solution to fail safely prevent mentally disturbed persons from acquiring guns. That being
said, I do think that laws are effective, although not foal proof. I m confident that there has been
several shooting prevented by denying certain persons guns, and that s why I m for gun control laws.
While the world section of the Daily Caller covers many avenues of new, a large portion of it seems to
be focused on conflicts in the international community. North Korea is suffering under the heaviest
sanctions that have been placed on them. A former North Korean financial official has stated that he is
unsure if North Korea will be able to survive

Amazing Grace Kozol Chapter Summaries
Amazing Grace is an informative book published to inform the people about conditions in one of the
nations poorest congressional districts. The book is centered on interviews among children and their
family members that live in the area of Mott Haven, located in the South Bronx. One can interpret that
living conditions in this area of the wealthiest nation in world are considered subpar to say the very
least. Is anyone listening? Is anyone paying any attention or caring that there are people dying
everyday of deaths that could be prevented? Following the civil rights acts in the late 1960s, Kozol
has been an activist for equal education among children regardless of their racial or economic
background. He has published many books portraying the declining levels of equality throughout the
nation; his most praised being Amazing Grace. He travels to the Mott Haven division of the South
Bronx, which happens to be one of the poorest nations in the country. While in Mott Haven, Kozol
meets many people including children, parents, and ministers; and speaks with them about their living
conditions and how they see the world around them. The book is divided into six chapters all based off

His first class starts at 9:15 am every day; he arrives to class early to get everything set up before the students come in. Students arrive to class on time; Mr. Mike already has the question for the new topic on the smart board. He starts his lesson by recalling what they learned in the previous class. Then he introduces the new topic along with an interesting story; which seems to grab student s attention. Mr. Mike shows a tremendous understanding and knowledge about the topic. The topic is about a word problem where students have to guess how many people could fit on a table if they keep adding tables together. Students have to draw a diagram of the situations; then they have to find a formula to illustrate the problem. After finding the formula, they have to use it to calculate how many people could fit if there are 50 or more tables together. Mr. Mike explains the problem in details. The project he uses reinforced students to use different representation of these mathematical problems. Every student completed the assignment. As a class, they discussed the problem and to assess learning Mr. Mike provides them with a practice test where they had to make up their word problem and solve it in the same manner as they did before. • 3. Monitoring System Chapter 1 INTRODUCTION Many companies today use information as a basis to increase productivity, producing quality products, providing quality services, creating customer confidence, and making timely decisions. As such, information technology has become the prime reason for the success and failure of a company to compete in business. This illustrates the impact of information technology on business operations today. As a result, designing an information system of high quality is important so that organisations can compete successfully in the global market. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The purpose of the design phase is to determine the specified problem and plan a solution for the specified problem. We used the data flow diagram to show the flow of data within the existing system and the proposed system. Once the design is complete, most of the major decisions about the proposed system have been made. Chapter 4.0 THE EXISTING SYSTEM An information system commonly refers to a basic computer system but may also describe a telephone switching or environmental controlling system. The IS involves resources for shared or processed information, as well as the people who manage the system. People are considered part of the system because without them, systems would not operate correctly. There are many types of information systems, depending on the need they are designed to fill. An operations support system, such as a transaction processing system, converts business data (financial transactions) into valuable information. Similarly, a management information system uses database information to output reports, helping users and businesses make decisions based on extracted data. In a decision support system, data is pulled from various sources and then reviewed by managers, who make determinations based on the compiled data. An executive information system is useful for ... Agricultural Revolution Vs Open Field System Pranav Muthuraman Period 1 Crites Chapter 17 AP Euro Questions The agricultural revolution included several inventions and ideas like enclosures, crop rotations, and various tools made to make farming more efficient in England and Netherlands but spread to the rest of Europe as well after the success of these inventions led to more food and less disease. First, an enclosure is a private plot of land owned by the landlord who hires landless workers to tend to the crops and animals on the land. This system is considered an improvement compared to the open field system because it allows the idea of crop rotation to take place. The second performance measure I would use would be responsive communication. This measures satisfaction surveys retention, absenteeism, and vacancy measures. These measures will let us know what is going within the organization. Some examples are percent of loyal associates, percent of RN positions are vacant, and tenure of associates. The concept of this is associate satisfaction, retention, and complaints. In order to provide excellent care, we will need to know what the staff is feeling. Happy employees mean better performance which equals better patient care. For the third measure, I would focus on corporate design. Corporate design measures market share, efficacy of care, per capita cost of care, improvements unmet or delayed and variation in internal performance. The concept behind this measure is to find the extent of service, uniformity of performance, and competitor relations. Surveys are a big part of obtaining all this information and provide a great deal of knowledge on how well this organization is performing. After 17 years of operation, the plant was closed due to experiencing labour management conflict. Soon after the shutdown, GM and Toyota vehicles cooperated to reopen the plant called New United Manufacturing, Inc (NUMMI), which lately become one of the most successful plants in the car manufacturing industry. In order for NUMMI to succeed, different management methods were applied, especially various strategies which motivated the employees. DEFINITION Motivation is defined as a psychological force that stimulates a person to act toward the desired objectives and maintain goal oriented behaviour to achieve a specific goal (Helen 2013). In the workplace, motivation is one of the most significant factors determining the effectiveness and efficiency. Usually, there are no small groups and no meaningful interface between church members and the public who come to these large meetings. Almost every year now, there are evangelistic efforts that are spread around the world by satellite down links. Thousands of churches can receive the evangelistic message simultaneously. This has resulted in tens of thousands of baptism. This method of evangelism fails to create friendships between church members and the public who attend these meetings. In traditional evangelistic efforts, if local church members are involved, they are usually relegated to the role of helping ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Health evangelism programs featuring small group interactions between the public and church members creates one on one relationships and sustains them. Solid, lasting friendships are formed. Baptisms resulting from health evangelism programs where friendships are made, are much more likely to stay in the church than baptisms resulting from traditional evangelistic activities. Health evangelism programs will prepare community people to be exposed to more traditional evangelistic meetings at some subsequent time. Health evangelism and traditional evangelistic meetings should not be piggy backed one on the other but each should be conducted often enough that those who are ready for indoctrination can avail themselves of a traditional evangelistic crusade. What I have found works best is for health evangelism programs to be offered on a regular, continuing basis on one track and traditional evangelistic efforts at regular intervals on another track. The purpose of each track is clear. The health evangelism track is health oriented but creates firm friendships with church members and introduces a person to God as the agent of behavior change in the daily life. The traditional evangelistic crusade track is for the purpose of broadening the spiritual understanding and experience of an individual along doctrinal lines. This prepares a person for full membership in the church. More about these parallel tracks in a later ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Video Gameplay Of The Games Consoles The industry that I have chosen to analyse within this essay is Games Consoles; this particular industry was chosen because I have a personal interest and knowledge of the market, which I believe, will help me towards analysing it. The Games consoles industry includes both static and portable consoles, static consoles being devices which are played through a television as opposed to portable devices which can be played on phones and tablets. According to (Mintel 2014) there is currently a big three who dominate the static games consoles Xbox, PlayStation and Wii. All three of these games consoles are owned by separate companies. Xbox is developed by Microsoft, PlayStation developed by Sony and Wii developed by Nintendo. Currently within the market there are two consoles for each of Xbox and PlayStation, as 2014 sees the first year that the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 have been on sale since it was released in November 2013. These join the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles which have now been on the market for many years. In the diagram below on the left from (Mintel 2014) by VGChartz we can see it illustrates that the big three currently control 100% of the static console industry with Xbox having a market share of 44%, PlayStation 47% and Wii 9%. • 14. My Personal Leadership Challenge Analysis The new ways of thinking that will help me to readdress my personal leadership challenge involves better understanding the concepts of values based leadership, situational leadership, and style, skills, and trait approaches to leadership. Values based leadership revolves around how the values that people have, influence the decisions they make and the actions they take. Northouse mentions that because leaders usually have more power and control than followers, they also have more responsibility to be sensitive to how their leadership affects followers lives (2013, p. 428). Due to this strong statement, working to further understand the major types of values that relate to leadership will be important for me to pin point which values my supervisor distinctively displays and which values he does not. Being able to understand this information is key as values are important to understanding leadership because they explain the focus and direction of peoples actions (Fernandez Hogan, 2002) and in this case, my supervisor s actions. Two values that are particularly interesting are the values of being just and being respectful. My supervisor strongly portrays the value of equality as he make[s] it a top priority to treat all of [his] subordinates in an equal manner (Northouse, 2013, p.433). He displays this when he gathers all instructors for a talk before we go to teach swimming lessons. On the contrary, although my supervisor has passion, he can come off as being ignorant ... • 19. Immigration Reform In Arizona Introduction Back in 2007 there were several concerns over immigration as a whole and exploding proportions of illegal immigrants crossing the border in the Arizona area. Arizona attempted to resolve the influx of people across the border by imposing heavy fines on employers hiring illegal immigrants. At that time in Arizona there was a democratic governor Janet Napolitano that continually vetoed the Arizona s legislature attempt to reduce illegal immigration. In 2009 the state replaced the Democratic governor with a Republican governor Jan Brewer who was supportive of reforms for immigration in Arizona. In 2010 the immigration problem was so sever that Arizona passed legislation allowing the state to enforce federal law for identification of legal immigration into the United States. This sparked a nation wide discussion on illegal immigration and immigration reform. The problem with immigration is that the federal government has failed to control immigrants coming into the U.S. illegally. This has caused a substantial increase in illegal immigration that threatens the U.S. economy. There continues to be uncertainty on how to approach the legalized immigration into the U.S. The federal government has attempted since 1975 to enact laws that resolve the issue but the laws continue to fall short of fixing the problem. One of the democratic approaches to solve the problem is to give all illegal immigrants citizenship unless they are not in good standings within ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 20. The Importance Of Arts Integration In Education Arts integration is defined as the investigation of curricular content through artistic explorations. In this process, the arts provide an avenue for rigorous investigation, representation, expression, and reflection of both curricular content and the art form itself (as cited in Donovan Pascale, 2012, p. 14). As previously discussed, the arts are a boon to those who seek to make their curriculum design more inclusive of all types of learners, and contributes to the social curriculum. Even beyond those applications, arts integration can truly benefit all educators. The arts teach a number of practical skills outside of the primary academic curriculum that teachers are responsible for fostering. Notably, the four Cs (communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity) of 21st century learning each work hand in hand with the arts. If we consider the arts as modes of communication, we see that students are more clearly able to demonstrate learning, ask questions, and connect with peers and teachers alike. The more languages a teacher can use, the better chance he or she has to speak (and listen to) diverse students. We need many languages to educate our children for their present and future lives (Powell, 1997, p. 5). Students who struggle with traditional classroom languages may find themselves suddenly able to participate in a world that was closed to them before. Their separate notions of dream and reality have survived through the centuries and we continue to attempt to explain and analyze them today. In this paper I will first examine Ibn al Arabi s concept of dream and reality and then move on to study Chuang tzu s thoughts on the subject. In this book, Chuang tzu uses wit, satire, analysis, and essays to explore many questions of philosophy, including the essence of reality and perception. Although most of us are unaware that we are dreaming, all that we see, feel, and hear is an illusion, a symbolic manifestation of the true Reality. • 22. The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn By Mark Twain Essay A study of Mark Twain s Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is an adventure in understanding changes in America itself. The book, at the center of American geography and consciousness, asks readers to reexamine definitions of civilization and freedom, right and wrong, social responsibility and inhumanity. Published in 1885, the novel recounts those pre civil war days when the controversy over slavery, with designated slave and Free states, disfigured the face of America and its view of itself as a land of the free. Both geographically and otherwise, the story is an examination of life at the center: the center of America s premier river, the Mississippi in the middle of the geographical United states, with slave states below, free states above, which is the route toward freedom and escape for Huck and Jim; the center of one of the foremost conflicts on American soil, slavery, which soon results in a civil war; the center of the coming of age of both a young man and a nation that struggle to understand redefinitions of nationhood and freedom, right and wrong; and the center of a shift from Romanticism to Realism in art and letters that would provide for a new way for Americans to express and re create themselves. The novel offers an excellent example of American picaresque fiction and meaningful use of dialect, although this dialect may be difficult reading for students for whom English is not a first language. • 27. Examples Of Policy Issues Related To Maternal Health Policy issues related to maternal and child Health Introduction Maternal and child mortality remains a major public health problem for Kenya. Despite the Government s commitment to the international and regional health agenda, the country has lagged behind in meeting most of the targets set in the international and regional declarations. Besides communicable diseases, lifestyle related diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, heart disease and cancers are increasing, hence posing a threat to the health care system in terms of diverting resources from basic health care services to these diseases. The huge burden of disease is due primarily to pervasive poverty, compounded by years of erratic application of policy, with the result that most of the population lacks the enabling environment for health, such as good nutrition, clean water, quality housing and conducive living environment. Weak public healths systems characterized by inadequate financial and human resources, inefficient support systems, and poorly coordinated responses to public health problems are responsible for the poor performance of the health care system. The Government s budget allocation to health care, which is currently at 8%, is far short of the 15% target agreed in the Abuja Declaration.2 For example, the number of nurses and doctors per population is 33/100,000 and 17/100,000, respectively, which is below the standard recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO). So that s a cool pro out of a con. With maintenance cutting down these trees, many inhabitants will be destroyed in the process which would take decades to recover. Reading the April 2nd Chainsaw influenced me to think about how I use natural resources in the future. In other words, how could I be more sustainable with the lifestyle ... • 32. Article Review On Donald Trump Among the websites that were listed for us to examine were some that focused on certain topics such as the salaries of our congressmen and the happenings of the US treasury, and others that were broad and covered many topics. In 1996 there was a federal law passed that prohibits people who have been charged with domestic violence from purchasing or possessing guns. In 2016 the Supreme Court upheld this law. Gun control is a touchy subject, and I personally feel that the laws that the government enacts can always be circumvented. For example, this Devin Kelley should never have been allowed to buy a gun, and yet he did. The increase in recent years of mass shootings is not due to a more readily available supply of guns and ammo or laxer laws, rather it is the people. These nut jobs are the crux of the problem, and I don t have a solution to fail safely prevent mentally disturbed persons from acquiring guns. That being said, I do think that laws are effective, although not foal proof. I m confident that there has been several shooting prevented by denying certain persons guns, and that s why I m for gun control laws. While the world section of the Daily Caller covers many avenues of new, a large portion of it seems to be focused on conflicts in the international community. North Korea is suffering under the heaviest sanctions that have been placed on them. A former North Korean financial official has stated that he is unsure if North Korea will be able to survive ...
