Words In The Power Of Kabbalah By Yehuda Berg
Yehuda Berg the author of The Power of Kabbalah once said, Words are singularly the most powerful
force available to humanity. We can choose to use this force constructively with words of
encouragement, or destructively using words of despair. Words have energy and power with the ability
to help, to heal, to hinder, to hurt, to harm, to humiliate and to humble. Therefore, the power of words
can harm or heal. Words are encouraging, your language and words represent who you are and words
can be hurtful.
Positive words will be encouraging. Encouraging words, will have a great importance and meaning to

Summary Of Chira Banerjee Divakaruni s The Palace Of...
Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni s novel, The Palace of Illusions is the epitome of feminism. It retells the
story of Mahabharata from the view point of Draupadi, the daughter of King Drupad. The delicate
threads of her life have beautifully been interwoven to bring forth a grasping story. Chitra Banerjee
has herself written I would uncover the story that lay invisible between the lines of the men s exploits.
Better still I would have her one of her tell it herself, with all her joys and doubts, her struggles and
her triumphs, her heartbreaks, her achievements, the unique female way in which she sees her world
and her place in it. (XV). King Drupad, ruler of Panchaal, one of the most prosperous kings of the
continent Bharat was the father of Draupadi. The very birth of Panchali is marked with revenge and
redundant. An offspring of vengeance and an expected one she trails after her brother Dhristadyumna
out of the sacrificial fire and is often called as Yagnyaseni. She was also known as Krishnaa because
she was copper skinned, fiery eyed and had long black hair. She was gifted with blue lotus fragrance
and hence called Yojangandha. Her own father had not expected her as he had long prayed to the Gods
for a son to avenge Drona. Along with a dutiful son Gods had presented him a daughter whose future
had been prophesized to change the course of history. You will bring about the death of evil kings and
your children s and your brother s. A million women will become widows

Abstract: In this paper a hybrid technique is used for determining the face from an image. Face
detection is one of the tedious job to achieve with very high accuracy. In this paper we proposed a
method that combines two techniques that is Orthogonal Laplacianface (OLPP) and Particle Swarm
Optimization (PSO). The formula for the OLPP relies on the Locality Preserving Projection (LPP)
formula, which aims at finding a linear approximation to the Eigen functions of the astronomer
Beltrami operator on the face manifold. However, LPP is non orthogonal and this makes it difficult to
reconstruct the information. When the set of features is found by the OLPP, with the help of the PSO,
the grouping of the image features is done and the one with the best match from the database is given
as the result. This hybrid technique gives a higher accuracy in less processing time.
Keywords: OLPP, PSO,
INTRODUCTION:
Recently, appearance based face recognition has received tons of attention. In general, a face image of
size n1 × n2 is delineating as a vector within the image house Rn1 × n2. We have a tendency to denote

Creativity And Imagination In The Neverending Story
Creativity and Imagination in The Neverending Story

FYS 110Z: Creating/Imagining/Real Life
Richard W. Swanson
September 22, 2017
On my honor, I pledge that I have upheld the Honor Code, and that the work I have done on this
assignment has been honest, and that the work of others in this class has, to the best of my knowledge,
been honest as well. The Neverending Story is filled with a world of imagination and creativity and
with imagination, our world can become a land of fantasy. In this paper, creativity and imagination
will be discussed and how they correlate with one another. The world is seen by many as a giant
floating rock in space; however, some see it as a land of opportunity and a place where dreams can ...

Imagination is useless without creativity. Anyone can imagine themselves walking down a street;
however, it takes a creative person to imagine walking down a street of an alien planet inhabited by
living Cheetos. This scenario might be considered a little outlandish, yet it takes that extreme
creativity to stand apart from other. Albert Einstein once said, imagination is more important than
knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand while imagination embraces
the entire world and all there ever will be to know and understand. Imagination and creativity benefit
from one another, and one can not achieve greatness without the other.
Imagination and creativity are essential qualities that help innovators have breakthroughs in science,
math, technology, and many other things. To be a creative individual, one must imagine the impossible
and improbable. For example, Michael Endie had to imagine the quicksand that engulfs life if it has
sorrow thoughts. The sand can be directly connected with depression and how, once it has a person, it
constantly drags them down. On the other hand, to be imaginative, an individual must think outside
the parameters of our modern world. For example, in The Neverending Story Tinys had a pet snail for
transport similar to a horse in our world. Michael Endie had

Factors Affecting BCS Behaviors In African American Women
Etiological studies that explained and predicts BCS behaviors in African American women
Many behavioral theories have been used to explain and predict factors that affect BCS behavior.
These theories include Health Belief Model (HBM), Transtheoriticaal Model (TTM), and Extended
Parallel Process Model (EPPM).
Fair M. A. et al, 2012 used the HBM and EPPM to understand how the interaction of perceived risk
and benefits affect the mammography adherence in African American women. Perceived risks are
personal beliefs of getting breast cancer. Perceived benefits are personal beliefs about importance and
effectiveness of mammography in reducing risk of death from breast cancer. In this study, they divided
participants into four categories: low risk ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The barriers include lack of information about the mammogram procedure, fear of exposing to
radiation, fear of finding something abnormal after having mammogram, the screening will take long
time, transportation, finding child care while performing mammogram, high cost and forgetting to
schedule an appointment. The benefits include finding breast lumps, early mammogram can detect
very small lumps, early treatment for BC will be better and having mammogram decrease chances of
dying from BC. The results of this study showed that women who don t considerate having
mammogram has low perceived susceptibility. They suggested that difference in perceived
susceptibility only present in women who don t considerate having mammogram and all other women.
They found that women who adopt mammogram screening or thinking about it have higher rate of
perceived benefits. This result is consistent with Rakowski et al., 1992 and Rakowski et al., 1993 who
found that perceived benefits rate become higher in women while they moved toward action stage.
These results are contradicting with Russell M.K. et al. who found that perceived benefits weren t
different across stage (Russell M.K. et al., 2006). They found that perceived barriers to BCS can
indicate the stage

Elvis Presley, By Jerry Leiber And Mike Stoller
Elvis Presley was born on January 8, 1935, in Tupelo, Mississippi, though his twin brother sadly did
not make it. Presley came from very a humble background with working class parents, though his
family had little money they moved around a lot. But they had very strong faith. Elvis went with his
parents to church where he heard gospel music spiking his interest in music. At the age of eleven he
received his first guitar as a birthday present form his mother. He also won his high school talent show
then soon after his graduation he begin to work in the music industry. He soon created his fist record,
the record label owner Sam Phillips took Presley under his wing and in 1954 he got his big break and
released his first single. Sadly, Presley passed on August 16th 1977 at the age of 42. His death was
caused by heart failure do to his drug use. (biography.com). Jailhouse Rock was written by Jerry
Leiber and Mike Stoller that first became a hit for Elvis Presley. When the song begins I hear a string
and a percussion instrument that seem to be keeping the beat, the two instruments are what I believe to
be a string guitar and a type of snare drum. I would say that the tempo of this piece varies from adagio
in the beginning but changes to an allegro tempo as the song progresses. The guitar pattern seems to
be dividing the beats into equal parts. I also believe that he adds a rhythmic feel to the song by
highlighting and slightly lengthening the first note of each pair which

Synovial Joints
Synovial joints, also known as diarthroidal joints, are the most common and movable type in the body.
The presence of lubricating synovial fluid encapsulated by joint ligaments distinguishes this type of
joint from others within the body90. OA most commonly occurs within the weight bearing synovial
joints including the hip and the knee, which is why obesity is such a major risk factor of OA4. The
synovial joint can be broken down into four major components: articular cartilage, synovium, joint
cavity filled with synovial fluid, and joint capsule ligament (Figure 1a) 60,115. Ultimately, articular
cartilage and the synovial fluid are the main constituents that contribute to the proper lubrication
properties of healthy and OA synovial joints.

Overall, articular cartilage is a very dense structure, lacking blood vessels and nerves that are found in
other tissues77. Chondrocytes are the cell types embedded within cartilage, and produce the structural
proteins that form the ECM. The major components of the ECM are water, type II collagens,
proteoglycans, aggrecan, and noncollagenous proteins such as fibronectins115,22. The resulting
osmotic pressure created within the wet and dry components of the ECM work in harmony to support
the mechanical forces applied to cartilage77. The water is retained in the ECM by aggrecan, the
primary structural proteoglycan which is based on a long hyaluronic acid backbone with highly
charged glycosaminoglycan (GAG) side chains, such as chondroitin sulfate (CS) and keratin sulfate
(KS)26. Altogether, these components are what create the depth dependent layers of cartilage: the

October Sky Character Analysis
October Sky: Emotions Everyone s done it. Said something that was meant to sound like something,
but then sounded like they were saying it another way. Well I ve found a way to train yourself into
knowing how they meant to say it, you read a book and you try to identify the emotions of the
characters. In the memoir October Sky, the character, Homer Hickam, shows lots of different
emotions. The true story was published in1998, it s about a boy and his friends who build and launch
off their own rockets in their hometown Coalwood, West Virginia. In this story Homer s biggest
change is his emotions. Three examples would be: when he gets Mr. Bykovski resigned to a different
job and killed, when Ms. Riley gave him a rocket science book, and when he launches off his final
rocket in Coalwood. Wouldn t you feel guilty if you accidentally got someone reassigned from their
job, and then killed? Well Homer knows how that feels. When he was first starting out in the rocket
business he went to a friendly welder named Mr. Bykovski, Mr. Bykovski agreed to help Homer.
Homer s dad didn t approve of his rocket building activities, and he claimed that Mr. Bykovski helped
Homer steal, which earned Mr. Bykovski a promotion to title as coal loader: He [Mr. Bykovski]
smiled a sad smile. Anyways, perhaps it is a good thing he has done I will make more money loading
coal (114). Mr. Bykovski got in trouble for doing something nice for Homer, making Homer felt real
guilty. But wait, there s

Art Speigelman Use Symbolism In The Holocaust
Art Speigelman wrote a book called Maus, that explains his father s experience in the holocaust. His
father Vladek Speigelman survived the holocaust. Speigelman Interviews his father everyday to write
his comic book and use symbolism. How does Art Speigelman use symbolism in Maus? The holocaust
was a tragic time for Jews.Germans tortured Jews because they were different and had a different
religion. The holocaust lasted through January 30, 1933 May 8, 1945. Six million Jews were killed in
the Holocaust.Jews were starved and suffered. The word Holocaust came from a greek word meaning
Sacrifice by fire . Art Speigelman wrote the book Maus to explain the events from the holocaust. Art
Speigelman and Vladek Speigelman, his father , had an unusual relationship. In the book Maus Vladek
tries to erase his memories of the holocaust, but Art tries to bring them back so he can write his book
and educate others. Art s father Vladek is unusual .Vladek has been kind ve weird, keeping
everything.Art Speigelman tries to understand his father s ways. The reason why there are stories
about this historical event is because it wouldn t repeat itself and to educate others.Vladek doesn t like
spending money or wasting things; this may be because of the holocaust.
When the Holocaust were beginning , there were a war fixing to start. Germans told the Jews that the
camps were because of the war and they believed it. Later on, Germans were beginning to destroy the
businesses of Jews and putting there flags in towns, that s when the Jews realized what was going on
and it were too late to stop it. Don t you know? All Jewish businesses have been taken over by Aryan
Managers (Speigelman, 76).
If you lock them together in a room with no food for a week then you could see what it is, friends.
(Speigelman, 6). That quote meant as if Jews were starved and wouldn t think about who you were
and are and struggle for survival not caring. Please if you want to stay alive go back inside
(Speigelman, 79). German treated Jews as if they weren t human. And were like bullies to the Jews, if
they didn t do as told they were killed, the Jews. While in the holocaust, Vladek lost many of his
family. Germans divided Jews into groups ,

Into The Wild, By Jon Krakauer
November 23, 2014 Into The Wild Themes Jon Krakauer s Into The Wild chronicles the journeys and
events leading up to the death of a young man named Chris McCandless. Chris was a vagabond who
traded friends and family in exchange for adventure, but ultimately wound up dead in the Alaskan
wilderness. Within this recollection readers can discover various themes. Primarily, the subjects of
materialism, ultimate freedom, and even man vs. nature all recur in this text. Materialism refers to the
desire for money or possessions rather than spiritual or ethical values. Chris McCandless denounces
this desire. After he left home, he rejects all forms of luxury similar to that of his family s wealthy
situation. While traveling, he insists on only carrying the bare essentials to survive and he regularly
refuses any aid that would compromise this doctrine. He even goes as far as burning one hundred
twenty three dollars, which shows just how little he cares for it. On the other hand, McCandless
displays a yearning for ultimate freedom throughout his travels. Eventually, he would like to find a
place where he does not have to obey anyone s rules. In chapter one, when Jim Gallien asks Chris if
he has a hunting license, McCandless describes his distaste for the government s rules, stating, How I
feed myself is none of the government s business. Also, Chris constant traveling shows his reluctance
to settle down or become tied down to one place. He avoids developing relationships with

LSD In The Mouse Party
The Mouse Party interactive experiment, released by The University of Utah, was quite an interesting
and bizarre way to learn how drugs affect the brain. My prior knowledge on this subject matter was
rather small, therefore my interest in this experiment was elevated. I chose to discuss three drugs that
interested me the most in this reflection. LSD was the first drug that struck my curiosity when learning
about the compound components to. Thus to no surprise, the rat that was on it was picked first. LSD
relies almost completely on the serotonin neurons in the brain by rearranging and binding them
together to create array of effects on the body. LSD is known for the way it reacts to receptor s in a
variety different ways, making the hallucinatory effects ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cocaine works by temporarily blocking dopamine transporters in the brain, leaving the synaptic cleft
built up with excess dopamine, causing the cell to get overstimulated. This effects the reward center of
the brain, making the user feel a sensation of positive feelings for a short amount of time, therefore
making it highly addictive. Moving onto methamphetamine (meth), in my opinion, by far the worst
drug out off all the others in this experiment. Meth is introduced to the body through inhalation or
injection, causing the dopamine transporters in the brain to start working in reverse. Due to this,
dopamine floods the synapse causing the body to have intense sensations of happiness and pleasure
for a short period of time. A result in using this, will deplete your dopamine levels causing a
dependency on the drug to feel happiness or pleasure. The information that was presented to me over
the course of the mouse party interactive experiment, had been very beneficial to my understanding of
how drugs effect the brain. Everything in this experiment correlated to what we learned about in
lecture last Thursday, making it easier to understand the physiology in the

Strategies For An Employee From A Tax Perspective
ISOs are often preferred by startups as it s supposed to be better for an employee from a tax
perspective. This assumes that (1) AMT won t be triggered and (2) you ll get low long term capital
gains rate by holding the stock for the appropriate holding periods. However, often you either run
afoul of the AMT trap, or don t hold the stock long enough with the complicated 1 year + 2 year
requirement, or the spread at exercise is zero or small, so the difference wouldn t matter anyway.
NSOs do have a slightly higher tax because of the employment taxes. Overall, it s not clear the ISO is
that much better for employees, so many people argue for NSOs instead. Even more confusingly, ISOs
can make it harder to meet the long term capital gains holding period. Many people expect early
exercise together with an 83(b) election will help them hold the stock longer, to qualify for long term
capital gains. While this is true for NSOs, there is a murky part of the rules on ISOs that implies that
even with an 83(b) election, the capital gain holding period does not begin until the shares actually
vest. So, if you want to immediately exercise an option and file an Section 83(b) election, and you
might have liquidity soon, it s better if you can have it be an NSO.

Do you agree with the view expressed in source three that the diplomatic situation was the main
reason for Henry s failure to obtain an annulment of his marriage to Catherine by 1529? We can
clearly see that there is more than one reason why Henry wanted to gain an annulment to Catherine in
1529, and that it wasn t purely down to reasons all diplomatically related. Although saying this, it s
also clear that the diplomatic situation at the time was a huge contributing factor for the failure. It
most definitely did slow down the progress Henry made in achieving his annulment. At the time of the
annulment, it was known that the Pope was hugely influenced by Charles V, who at the time was the
Holy Roman Emperor. Due to Charles role ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another diplomatic situation that stacked against Henry, was the lack of allies he had, and especially
the fact that he had no powerful allies to support him in his struggle, or powerful enough to oppose the
Pope and Charles. With it looking that Henry had absolutely no diplomatic power or control in this
situation, it was looking that he would stand almost no chance in changing the mind of the Pope and
Charles into agreeing to the annulment. Although it s beginning to look like diplomatic status was the
only reason that caused the failure in the annulment, there were other factors such as Wolsey. At this
point in time,Wolsey was widely unpopular, especially in England. He had previously had huge
influence amongst the ranks of the courtiers, but they now felt no need to obey his orders. Due to this,
he justlike Henry had very few allies, and the few he did have weren t powerful enough to help him in
his cause. Due to this he was faced with great issues when it came to convincing Campeggio that
Henry had plausible reason to gain an annulment. Arguably the biggest fault of Wolsey, would be his
very poor relations with the Vatican and the papacy. Source J says that Wolsey s only real hope at
obtaining Henry s annulment would be to turn the people on Charles and gain more powerful allies

Another major problem banks have had to content with is the inconsistency in monetary and
regulatory policies. The surveillance and regulatory measures of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)
have unfortunately been unable to keep the pace with the rapidity of the charges in the financial
system.
All these factors deregulation, competition, innovation, economic recession, political instability,
escalating inflation, and frequent reversal in monetary policy have combined to create a challenging
and precarious financial environment for banks. Consequence of the new financial environment has
been rapidly declining profitability of the traditional banking activities. Thus, in a bid to survive and
maintain adequate profit level in this highly competitive environment, banks have tended to take
excessive risks. But, then the increasing tendency for greater risk taking has resulted in insolvency and
failure of a large number of the banks [9].
The continuing deterioration in the financial health of the banks and increasing incidence of bank
failure since deregulation have raised question about the nature and state of the Nigerian banking
sector. 1. Statement of the Problem

Looking For Alaska By John Green

Looking For Alaska by John Green
Looking For Alaska by John Green is a coming of age story focused on a shy and friendless fifteen
year old boy named Miles Halter. He leaves his home in Florida to attend Culver Creek Preparatory
School in Alabama, seeking his Great Perhaps (Green 5). It is important to note that this novel is
written in two parts, before and after. Before, Miles fits in perfect at Culver Creek where he meets his
first true friends, Chip The Colonel Martin and Alaska Young. His friends help him adjust to life at the
boarding school by teaching him to smoke cigarettes, drink alcohol, and pull pranks with the best of
them. Miles begins to fall helplessly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In after, however, the World Religions class becomes a focal point for wrestling with the suffering
following Alaska s death (Dean 24). This quote, while talking about the religion class, sums up the
before and after structure perfectly. Before, Pudge s labyrinth was navigating Alaska s changes in
character and his almost imaginary image of her, however after her death, he finds himself in a real
life labyrinth of pain and despair, which he only escapes by forgiveness. I found Miles to be extremely
relatable. For the first part of the book, he is experiencing the same things that I, and probably most
other high school students, experienced. This makes it easy to understand his thought process and
reasoning. That being said, he is a complete pushover. I would consider him to be the epitome of a
follower. This turns out to be a major problem for him when he refuses to stand up to Alaska driving
under the influence of alcohol. Having had friends try to drink and drive numerous times, I know that
no one wants to be that guy, but his unwillingness to put his foot down ended up costing him dearly.
John Green addresses a very serious problem that faces many people in today s society. Under no
circumstances should one allow another person to drink and drive, and I felt as though he taught this
lesson in the best way possible. Readers see the huge mistake that Miles and his friends made, and
will hopefully use it as a reference when put in a similar position,

As he has shown in his books, anyone can do anything that they put their mind to. The quote I made

important because it shows that Rick believes in many people. Also, he shows that in his novels, the

he believes in the characters, even if they are dyslexic and disabled . He is showing that he

Why Is David Important In The Renaissance
In the renaissance there were many famous artists and masterpieces. One of the most famous works of
art is known as the statue of David, sculpted by Michelangelo. The statue of David is one of the
greatest works of art from the high renaissance for so many reasons, including the fact that it is one of
Michelangelo s most well known works of art. Michelangelo was one of the greatest artists from the
high renaissance, along with many others. He created many masterpieces in his time and the statue of
David may only be one of them but it is considerably the best.

The Trial Stage Of The Court
If a plea agreement is not reached, then the process moves to the motions phase. During this time, the
defense and prosecution can file pretrial motions to suppress evidence due to faulty police line ups,
coerced confessions, and illegal search and seizures. Once all pretrial motions are filed, the process
moves to the trial stage. The trial stage is where the case, from the prosecution and defense, is
presented to the jury for their deliberation of the verdict.
During the motions stage of the process, discussed about, Mr. Blackbeard s defense will submit
motions regarding the clothing found in the alcove, the rifle, the handbag, canister containing the
quarters, and the bloody towel. The defense will argue that the police did not have a warrant to search
Mr. Blackbeard s sleeping quarters and that he has the right to expect privacy in the area where he was
sleep and kept his belongings. This would be a violation of the Fourth Amendment, which is the right
of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, paper, and effects, against unreasonable search and
seizures, shall not be violated... . The defense will argue that the police did not have consent, nor
probable cause to search the vehicle which resulted in the discovery of Ms. Lovely s purse, canister
containing quarters, and the bloody towel. In response to the rifle, the defense will argue that the
police had no warrant or probable cause to collect the rifle. While the police were at the scene where

Keystone Pipeline Essay
There has been much controversy over whether or not to build the Keystone XL pipeline that would
connect Canadian Alberta oil fields to refineries in Texas. The proposed pipeline, which would be built
by TransCanada, would connect two existing pipes, consisting total of around 1,700 miles of pipeline.
The two sides of this argument can be roughly boiled down to two words: environment and economy.
In such turbulent times can Americans afford to pass up a so called shovel ready project that would
create jobs and cut dependence on foreign oil from unfriendly places, or, as some would claim, is the
risk of environmental mayhem too great? There is much dispute between both sides on the actual facts
of the project, and a surprising amount of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The lowest estimate seems to be at 100 temporary jobs created, according to president of the NRDA
Frances Beinecke, while the highest of such estimates seems to be at around 1,000,000 jobs created
according to Governor Rick Perry. Let s discard both of these numbers, they are for our purposes
useless. We should instead focus on the number that recurrences, the most which lies at around 20,000
jobs, but where did that number come from? TransCanada itself issued a statement that said it is
poised to put 13,000 Americans to work to construct the pipeline pipefitters, welders, mechanics,
electricians, heavy equipment operators, among other jobs in addition to 7,000 manufacturing jobs
that would be created across the U.S. TransCanada also cites another figure 118,000 spin off jobs that
Keystone XL would create through increased business in local restaurants, hotels and suppliers that
comes from a study commissioned by the corporation. The study even suggested that under normal oil
price assumptions, the number of permanent jobs would top 250,000. There should be an amount of
more permanent jobs associated with the pipeline, such as gauge readers, emergency crews and
maintenance workers that the pipeline will support over its forty five

Barnard College Student Analysis
When I first read about Barnard College, my interest was peaked because finally, after hours of
research and sorting through piles of college brochures, I had discovered an ideal school. I thrive in
environments that provide diversity and social awareness partnered with opportunities for creative and
continuous learning, which I believe is precisely what Barnard offers! Further as it is a women s
college, I feel that I would be a part of an incredibly supportive community where I can look forward
to sustained interaction with driven, passionate, and strong women.
Previously I found multiple small liberal arts schools or colleges in large cities, but I could not find a
school that combined the two. As I read the website and the viewbook,

Thesis For Antigone
What is worth fighting for? There are several examples of literature that have not so much changed
my view of the world, but solidified vague ideas I already had about my values, passions, and the
things I wish to fight for and stand up for as I paint my story.
A play written by Sophocles circa 445 B.C., Antigone, depicts the tragedy of a young woman who
stands firm against an obstinate new ruling force her uncle Creon, in what was right by her family and
her gods in antithesis to that which was better for her country. The altercation involves the burial of
her brother, Polyneices after staging a coup against his brother s regime which resulted in both of the
brothers deaths, in order to protect his soul from the eternal isolation and ... Show more content on

Just as Antigone knows with whom her allegiances lie: with her family and her gods. She remains
loyal to them even unto death. Similarly, Psalm 48:14 exalts a God who is so in love with his people
and with a passion to lead them that he has promised to do it eternally: This God, our God forever and
ever/He will lead us eternally. Know thyself. Antigone exemplifies how knowing your priorities is
key. She put God and family over politics. What are mine: God, family and friends, education, self,
and travel. My passions I discovered are: children and missions. In addition, Antigone shows that
those who act out of passion do not feel remorse for their actions, so long as it is well thought

The Plight of Canada’s Fitness
Obesity levels in Canada have tripled over the last 30 years, according to Statistics Canada. Moreover,
a recent study by the University of Manitoba by Dr. Henry Janzen has suggested that 90% of Canada s
adolescents are physically inactive. Even though, Manitoba is the only province in Canada in which
physical education credits between grades 9 to grade 12 are required for graduation, the program is
facing several issues from the large class size, limited space, and specialist versus generalist teachers
issue. Thus, physical education programs needs to be enforced and should be mandatory nationwide.
Incontrovertible, physical education programs are getting more attention in the last few years. It is the

Thus, if the child s experience was not perfect then that may lead to a negative impact or image in this
child, which might lead him to quite that specific sport again. Nonetheless, a new research by the
Canadian institute of health research in British Columbia discovered that increasing the gymnasium
class frequency, or soft drinks consumption would not reduce or affect the body mass weight (BMI) in
youth. Then, the child s diet and food preference creates all the difference. However, teenagers and
youth develop food preferences are based on the advertising they see which, unfortunately, aim for the
high calorie and sugar laden drinks and snacks. I still cannot remember a time in my semester long
physical education when I was taught to choose a healthy diet, rather the 110 hour class focused on
taking action in the gymnasium and ensuring that a minimum of 55 hours of out of school activity are
logged by the end of the course. So the key component here is the relationship between the teacher
and the student. In other words, if the teacher took the time to alter his program to adapt to the present
day student, then the program will be more effective and it will establish more interests. Surprisingly,
Canadian kids and youth are ranked the fourth globally in obesity levels; we are almost beating the
United States not in the positive way but in the negative one, good job Canada! This however reveals

Reading And Reflection Essay
For as long as I can remember on the first day of class no matter what class it seems that the teacher
would always look upon the class and ask what our personal definition of reading and writing or why
we were in the class and people always seem to give the same hesitant answer every year. I thought I
knew why I in the class, I assumed it was like high school english as long as I stuck to the formula that
was engraved in our minds that I would have no trouble making it though the course. However, after
the first day of class i knew that this class probably wouldn t be that way. After being turned off to
reading and writing from a young age, my definition of reading and writing were hindered from these
experiences. Going from classrooms ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Finding out later that I have a learning disability hindered all attempts I would make at reading for fun
writing because I wasn t good at it or didn t understand grammar. So my definitions of reading and
writing were hindered by the fact that I only put in the bare minimum not giving it my all to learn how
to .
My first attempt at English 1101 I came with the mindset like it was highschool that i could breeze
though the course with the bare minimum talk about the bigger picture summarize write a 5 paragraph
essay, not realizing college english wouldn t difficult. After my mindset was changed I thought if I just
changed teachers that i would pass. Walking into my second attempt for english 1101 and finding out
that it wasn t going to be any easier i knew at that point i had to put in the immense amount of time it
would take to read and write papers i dreaded but as i opened up to the realization that i would have to
put in the time and open up to a new way of doing things .
In my second attempt at English class I realized after the first couple classes that writing was no
longer some magical formula you could follow and if you did you would pass. For some it will come
as a surprise to learn that reading and writing have no transformative powers.

How Dumas Made Assumptions On American Culture
5. Throughout the story Dumas made assumptions on Americans and her own family as well. Dumas
collected evidence to prove majority of the things she believed by changing her name for awhile in her
life. When Dumas name became Julie she realized that more people were drawn to her and that she
had more friends too. When the Iranian Revolution came she realized that many kids were only her
friend because they thought she was American due to her name and having no accent. Many people
hate Iranians at this time, and would have never let any of their children around Dumas if they knew
she was Iranian. As she grew up she also realized that many Americans refused to hire her under the
name Firoozeh, but she could not get hired anywhere despite graduating ... Show more content on

Dumas references many popular things in American culture throughout her essay. When she was
deciding on an American name she states, Her reasoning made sense, except that Farrah Fawcett was
at the height of her popularity and I didn t want to be associated with somebody whose poster hung in
every postpubescent boy s bedroom. She also makes the reference when choosing her name that, ...
Fifi . Had I a special affinity for French poodles or been considering a career in prostitution, I would
ve gone with that one. These two quotes are familiar and able to be laughed at by majority of
Americans because we see exactly what Dumas means by both. She included these two lines that
Americans find popular in order to add points into the essay that people can relate to. It also keeps
readers interested having something to be able to relate to when there is not much else many of us
could relate to since our names are usually simple. Furthermore, Dumas says It s like adding a few
new spices to the kitchen pantry. Move over, cinnamon and nutmeg, make way for cardamom and
sumac. She includes the quote to show that the popular spices are not the only ones and sometimes
people need to open their eyes to more unique versions. Overall, Dumas includes items of popular
American culture to help readers see a more clear connection to what she is trying to tell

Dollar Diplomacy
Banana Wars/Dollar Diplomacy Specifically of the USA and Haiti
The USA always had a manifest destiny mindset .In fact fur U.S. Presidents passed acts to support this
ideology It all started with the creation of the Monroe Doctrine in 1823. This is a U.S. Foreign Policy,
announced by President James Monroe that stated the opposition to any European interference within
the affairs of the Western Hemisphere. European nations couldn t colonize land or interfere with states
in the South or North America. If Europe tried to expand or colonize in the Americas, it would be
viewed as acts of aggression, which would require the U.S. to attack or intervene.
Then in 1904 President Roosevelt made an extension of The Monroe Doctrine, expressed by Theodore
Roosevelt, which stated that the U.S. would intervene in conflicts ... Show more content on

As a potential naval base for the United States, Haiti s stability concerned U.S. diplomatic and defense
officials who feared Haitian instability would possibly result in foreign rule of Haiti. In 1868,
President Andrew Johnson urged the annexation of the one island Haiti and the Dominican Republic,
to secure a U.S. defensive and economic stake in the West Indies. In 1910, President William Howard
Taft granted Haiti a large loan in hopes that Haiti may pay off its international debt, thus lessening
foreign influence. The attempt failed due to the enormity of the debt and also because of the internal
instability of the country.
The United States became increasingly involved with heightened German activity and influence in
Haiti. At the start of the twentieth century, German presence increased with German merchants
establishing trading branches in Haiti that dominated industrial business in the area. The United States
considered Germany its chief rival within the Caribbean and feared German control of Haiti would

Fifth Business
Fifth Business: The consequences of guilt All actions have consequences. Sometimes one does not
have to participate in the action, but only be related, and the crime committed can have serious
consequences for everyone. The consequence, or lack of consequence, is determined by one s
upbringing. This is clearly the case present in Robertston Davies Fifth Business. Although Boy
committed the crime, Dunstan feels a profound sense of guilt about the snowball incident. On the
other hand, Boy obliterates his guilt. Guilt and lack of guilt can clearly be seen through character s
lives, relationships and philosophies. The guilt felt by Dunstan altered the way he lives through his

It was characteristic of Boy throughout his life that he was always the quintessence of something that
somebody else had recognized and defined (Davies 113). He believes that he is in control of every
situation, but inside he cannot control his guilt that is still buried deep inside himself. Contrary to
Dunstan who feels responsible for problems, Boy runs away from his problems by keeping himself
busy. The death of Leola, his wife, clearly shows Boy s fear of facing problems, for his does not show
up for her funeral, Boy was in England, arranging something or other connected with his Ministry, and
duty and the difficulty of transatlantic flights in wartime kept him there (Davies 194). Boy still yearns
for fulfillment even though he achieves greatness in terms of his financial success and his outward
appearance. He says, I feel rotten. I ve done just about everything I ve ever planned to do and
everybody thinks I m a success... But sometimes I wish I could get into a car and drive away from the
whole damned thing. (Davies). Boy knows that deep inside he is very unsuccessful. As he gets older,
he is supposed to be wiser, but his commitment to achieving the external greatness has stopped him
from being fully satisfied. There is an immense difference in the lives of Boy and Dunstan. Boy s
focus on his external being causes him live an unfulfilled life, like a boy who cannot see that there is

Essay on Multilateral Intervention within ASEAN
The admission of Burma into ASEAN and the reluctance of ASEAN to resolve Burma s ongoing
political turmoil (the most recent, 2010 elections) have sparked off much debate and controversy
among the member states as well as the international community. This is because ASEAN upheavals
the non interference principle in managing its inter relations, indicating lack of credibility, importance
and unity. Therefore, this policy memo will suggest some short and long term strategies that will re
orientate political and economic change in Burma in accordance to ASEAN s interest.

Firstly, the reputation of ASEAN is closely linked to the measures that should be taken to resolve
Burma s current political turmoil. ASEAN has been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

United States
The United States are negotiating on free trade agreements (TIFA) with ASEAN, though the
negotiations are relatively inactive due to some hindrances such as lack of transparency, large amount
of bureaucratic paperwork to do business, especially in Burma (Aung Zwa) inequality (preferential
policies) barring foreigners from the lucrative public procurement sector practiced by some member
states of ASEAN (Lee Hock Guan). Besides that on the foreign policy and security front, the United
States realizes the importance of ASEAN in facilitating to materialize its interest, to contain the rising
of China and thus to remain as the hegemonic power in South East Asia. ASEAN is also playing as a
key partner in combating against terrorism. This is because some Islamic extremist groups which are
linked to Al Qaeda had been using ASEAN countries to meet up for their attacks.
China Firstly, there has been an influx of assistance, trade and investment from China to Burma. This
can be seen as in just ten years, trade between Burma and China grew from US$15million to US$800
million. For instance, from 1991 to 1995, about $US740 million of approximately US$1 billion in
arms purchased by Burma came from China. Therefore, China maintains a good relation with Burma
because Burma had been importing its military hardware. Secondly,

Keeping Students In High School
People argue about whether to keep students in school until they turn 18. However, contrary to what
people may think school should keep students until they are of 18. Since people with high school
diploma have more money, less chance of getting into jail or getting public assistance.
Without a high school diploma, the students earn less money. In a 2009 graph the average income by
education stated that high school dropouts make $19,540. Meanwhile someone that has completed
high school makes around $27,380. With this knowledge we can infer some things such as, with the
dropout they could barely afford a place to live and food. But with the high school education that
person can get a place to live, food, and start going to college or a university.

  • 2. Words In The Power Of Kabbalah By Yehuda Berg Yehuda Berg the author of The Power of Kabbalah once said, Words are singularly the most powerful force available to humanity. We can choose to use this force constructively with words of encouragement, or destructively using words of despair. Words have energy and power with the ability to help, to heal, to hinder, to hurt, to harm, to humiliate and to humble. Therefore, the power of words can harm or heal. Words are encouraging, your language and words represent who you are and words can be hurtful. Positive words will be encouraging. • 3. Summary Of Chira Banerjee Divakaruni s The Palace Of... Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni s novel, The Palace of Illusions is the epitome of feminism. It retells the story of Mahabharata from the view point of Draupadi, the daughter of King Drupad. The delicate threads of her life have beautifully been interwoven to bring forth a grasping story. Chitra Banerjee has herself written I would uncover the story that lay invisible between the lines of the men s exploits. Better still I would have her one of her tell it herself, with all her joys and doubts, her struggles and her triumphs, her heartbreaks, her achievements, the unique female way in which she sees her world and her place in it. (XV). King Drupad, ruler of Panchaal, one of the most prosperous kings of the continent Bharat was the father of Draupadi. The very birth of Panchali is marked with revenge and redundant. An offspring of vengeance and an expected one she trails after her brother Dhristadyumna out of the sacrificial fire and is often called as Yagnyaseni. She was also known as Krishnaa because she was copper skinned, fiery eyed and had long black hair. She was gifted with blue lotus fragrance and hence called Yojangandha. Her own father had not expected her as he had long prayed to the Gods for a son to avenge Drona. Along with a dutiful son Gods had presented him a daughter whose future had been prophesized to change the course of history. • 4. Face Recognition Using Orthogonal Locality Preserving... FACE RECOGNITION USING ORTHOGONAL LOCALITY PRESERVING PROJECTIONS. Dr. Ravish R Singh Ronak K Khandelwal Manoj Chavan Academic Advisor EXTC Engineering EXTC Engineering Thakur Educational Trust L.R.Tiwari COE Thakur COE Mumbai, India. Mumbai,India. Mumbai, India. ravishrsingh@yahoo.com ronakkhandelwal2804@gmail.com prof.manoj@gmail.com Abstract: In this paper a hybrid technique is used for determining the face from an image. Face detection is one of the tedious job to achieve with very high accuracy. In this paper we proposed a method that combines two techniques that is Orthogonal Laplacianface (OLPP) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). The formula for the OLPP relies on the Locality Preserving Projection (LPP) formula, which aims at finding a linear approximation to the Eigen functions of the astronomer Beltrami operator on the face manifold. However, LPP is non orthogonal and this makes it difficult to reconstruct the information. When the set of features is found by the OLPP, with the help of the PSO, the grouping of the image features is done and the one with the best match from the database is given as the result. This hybrid technique gives a higher accuracy in less processing time. Keywords: OLPP, PSO, INTRODUCTION: Recently, appearance based face recognition has received tons of attention. In general, a face image of size n1 × n2 is delineating as a vector within the image house Rn1 × n2. We have a tendency to denote ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Creativity And Imagination In The Neverending Story Creativity and Imagination in The Neverending Story Kasey Buse FYS 110Z: Creating/Imagining/Real Life Richard W. Swanson September 22, 2017 On my honor, I pledge that I have upheld the Honor Code, and that the work I have done on this assignment has been honest, and that the work of others in this class has, to the best of my knowledge, been honest as well. The Neverending Story is filled with a world of imagination and creativity and with imagination, our world can become a land of fantasy. In this paper, creativity and imagination will be discussed and how they correlate with one another. The world is seen by many as a giant floating rock in space; however, some see it as a land of opportunity and a place where dreams can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Imagination is useless without creativity. Anyone can imagine themselves walking down a street; however, it takes a creative person to imagine walking down a street of an alien planet inhabited by living Cheetos. This scenario might be considered a little outlandish, yet it takes that extreme creativity to stand apart from other. Albert Einstein once said, imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand while imagination embraces the entire world and all there ever will be to know and understand. Imagination and creativity benefit from one another, and one can not achieve greatness without the other. Imagination and creativity are essential qualities that help innovators have breakthroughs in science, math, technology, and many other things. To be a creative individual, one must imagine the impossible and improbable. For example, Michael Endie had to imagine the quicksand that engulfs life if it has sorrow thoughts. The sand can be directly connected with depression and how, once it has a person, it constantly drags them down. On the other hand, to be imaginative, an individual must think outside the parameters of our modern world. For example, in The Neverending Story Tinys had a pet snail for transport similar to a horse in our world. Michael Endie had ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Factors Affecting BCS Behaviors In African American Women Etiological studies that explained and predicts BCS behaviors in African American women Many behavioral theories have been used to explain and predict factors that affect BCS behavior. These theories include Health Belief Model (HBM), Transtheoriticaal Model (TTM), and Extended Parallel Process Model (EPPM). Fair M. A. et al, 2012 used the HBM and EPPM to understand how the interaction of perceived risk and benefits affect the mammography adherence in African American women. Perceived risks are personal beliefs of getting breast cancer. Perceived benefits are personal beliefs about importance and effectiveness of mammography in reducing risk of death from breast cancer. In this study, they divided participants into four categories: low risk ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The barriers include lack of information about the mammogram procedure, fear of exposing to radiation, fear of finding something abnormal after having mammogram, the screening will take long time, transportation, finding child care while performing mammogram, high cost and forgetting to schedule an appointment. The benefits include finding breast lumps, early mammogram can detect very small lumps, early treatment for BC will be better and having mammogram decrease chances of dying from BC. The results of this study showed that women who don t considerate having mammogram has low perceived susceptibility. They suggested that difference in perceived susceptibility only present in women who don t considerate having mammogram and all other women. They found that women who adopt mammogram screening or thinking about it have higher rate of perceived benefits. This result is consistent with Rakowski et al., 1992 and Rakowski et al., 1993 who found that perceived benefits rate become higher in women while they moved toward action stage. These results are contradicting with Russell M.K. et al. who found that perceived benefits weren t different across stage (Russell M.K. et al., 2006). They found that perceived barriers to BCS can indicate the stage ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Presley came from very a humble background with working class parents, though his family had little money they moved around a lot. But they had very strong faith. Elvis went with his parents to church where he heard gospel music spiking his interest in music. At the age of eleven he received his first guitar as a birthday present form his mother. He also won his high school talent show then soon after his graduation he begin to work in the music industry. He soon created his fist record, the record label owner Sam Phillips took Presley under his wing and in 1954 he got his big break and released his first single. Sadly, Presley passed on August 16th 1977 at the age of 42. His death was caused by heart failure do to his drug use. (biography.com). Jailhouse Rock was written by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller that first became a hit for Elvis Presley. When the song begins I hear a string and a percussion instrument that seem to be keeping the beat, the two instruments are what I believe to be a string guitar and a type of snare drum. I would say that the tempo of this piece varies from adagio in the beginning but changes to an allegro tempo as the song progresses. The guitar pattern seems to be dividing the beats into equal parts. I also believe that he adds a rhythmic feel to the song by highlighting and slightly lengthening the first note of each pair which ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Synovial Joints Synovial joints, also known as diarthroidal joints, are the most common and movable type in the body. The presence of lubricating synovial fluid encapsulated by joint ligaments distinguishes this type of joint from others within the body90. OA most commonly occurs within the weight bearing synovial joints including the hip and the knee, which is why obesity is such a major risk factor of OA4. The synovial joint can be broken down into four major components: articular cartilage, synovium, joint cavity filled with synovial fluid, and joint capsule ligament (Figure 1a) 60,115. Ultimately, articular cartilage and the synovial fluid are the main constituents that contribute to the proper lubrication properties of healthy and OA synovial joints. 3.1.1. Articular Cartilage ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Overall, articular cartilage is a very dense structure, lacking blood vessels and nerves that are found in other tissues77. Chondrocytes are the cell types embedded within cartilage, and produce the structural proteins that form the ECM. The major components of the ECM are water, type II collagens, proteoglycans, aggrecan, and noncollagenous proteins such as fibronectins115,22. The resulting osmotic pressure created within the wet and dry components of the ECM work in harmony to support the mechanical forces applied to cartilage77. The water is retained in the ECM by aggrecan, the primary structural proteoglycan which is based on a long hyaluronic acid backbone with highly charged glycosaminoglycan (GAG) side chains, such as chondroitin sulfate (CS) and keratin sulfate (KS)26. Altogether, these components are what create the depth dependent layers of cartilage: the superficial zone, the middle zone, the deep zone, and the calcified zone (Figure ... Well I ve found a way to train yourself into knowing how they meant to say it, you read a book and you try to identify the emotions of the characters. In the memoir October Sky, the character, Homer Hickam, shows lots of different emotions. The true story was published in1998, it s about a boy and his friends who build and launch off their own rockets in their hometown Coalwood, West Virginia. In this story Homer s biggest change is his emotions. Three examples would be: when he gets Mr. Bykovski resigned to a different job and killed, when Ms. Riley gave him a rocket science book, and when he launches off his final rocket in Coalwood. Wouldn t you feel guilty if you accidentally got someone reassigned from their job, and then killed? Well Homer knows how that feels. When he was first starting out in the rocket business he went to a friendly welder named Mr. Bykovski, Mr. Bykovski agreed to help Homer. Homer s dad didn t approve of his rocket building activities, and he claimed that Mr. Bykovski helped Homer steal, which earned Mr. Bykovski a promotion to title as coal loader: He [Mr. Bykovski] smiled a sad smile. His father Vladek Speigelman survived the holocaust. Speigelman Interviews his father everyday to write his comic book and use symbolism. How does Art Speigelman use symbolism in Maus? The holocaust was a tragic time for Jews.Germans tortured Jews because they were different and had a different religion. The holocaust lasted through January 30, 1933 May 8, 1945. Six million Jews were killed in the Holocaust.Jews were starved and suffered. The word Holocaust came from a greek word meaning Sacrifice by fire . Art Speigelman wrote the book Maus to explain the events from the holocaust. Art Speigelman and Vladek Speigelman, his father , had an unusual relationship. In the book Maus Vladek tries to erase his memories of the holocaust, but Art tries to bring them back so he can write his book and educate others. Art s father Vladek is unusual .Vladek has been kind ve weird, keeping everything.Art Speigelman tries to understand his father s ways. The reason why there are stories about this historical event is because it wouldn t repeat itself and to educate others.Vladek doesn t like spending money or wasting things; this may be because of the holocaust. When the Holocaust were beginning , there were a war fixing to start. Germans told the Jews that the camps were because of the war and they believed it. Later on, Germans were beginning to destroy the businesses of Jews and putting there flags in towns, that s when the Jews realized what was going on and it were too late to stop it. Don t you know? All Jewish businesses have been taken over by Aryan Managers (Speigelman, 76). If you lock them together in a room with no food for a week then you could see what it is, friends. (Speigelman, 6). That quote meant as if Jews were starved and wouldn t think about who you were and are and struggle for survival not caring. Please if you want to stay alive go back inside (Speigelman, 79). German treated Jews as if they weren t human. • 11. Into The Wild, By Jon Krakauer November 23, 2014 Into The Wild Themes Jon Krakauer s Into The Wild chronicles the journeys and events leading up to the death of a young man named Chris McCandless. Chris was a vagabond who traded friends and family in exchange for adventure, but ultimately wound up dead in the Alaskan wilderness. Within this recollection readers can discover various themes. Primarily, the subjects of materialism, ultimate freedom, and even man vs. nature all recur in this text. Materialism refers to the desire for money or possessions rather than spiritual or ethical values. Chris McCandless denounces this desire. After he left home, he rejects all forms of luxury similar to that of his family s wealthy situation. While traveling, he insists on only carrying the bare essentials to survive and he regularly refuses any aid that would compromise this doctrine. He even goes as far as burning one hundred twenty three dollars, which shows just how little he cares for it. On the other hand, McCandless displays a yearning for ultimate freedom throughout his travels. Eventually, he would like to find a place where he does not have to obey anyone s rules. In chapter one, when Jim Gallien asks Chris if he has a hunting license, McCandless describes his distaste for the government s rules, stating, How I feed myself is none of the government s business. Also, Chris constant traveling shows his reluctance to settle down or become tied down to one place. He avoids developing relationships with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. LSD In The Mouse Party The Mouse Party interactive experiment, released by The University of Utah, was quite an interesting and bizarre way to learn how drugs affect the brain. My prior knowledge on this subject matter was rather small, therefore my interest in this experiment was elevated. I chose to discuss three drugs that interested me the most in this reflection. LSD was the first drug that struck my curiosity when learning about the compound components to. Thus to no surprise, the rat that was on it was picked first. LSD relies almost completely on the serotonin neurons in the brain by rearranging and binding them together to create array of effects on the body. LSD is known for the way it reacts to receptor s in a variety different ways, making the hallucinatory effects ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Cocaine works by temporarily blocking dopamine transporters in the brain, leaving the synaptic cleft built up with excess dopamine, causing the cell to get overstimulated. This effects the reward center of the brain, making the user feel a sensation of positive feelings for a short amount of time, therefore making it highly addictive. Moving onto methamphetamine (meth), in my opinion, by far the worst drug out off all the others in this experiment. Meth is introduced to the body through inhalation or injection, causing the dopamine transporters in the brain to start working in reverse. • 13. Strategies For An Employee From A Tax Perspective ISOs are often preferred by startups as it s supposed to be better for an employee from a tax perspective. This assumes that (1) AMT won t be triggered and (2) you ll get low long term capital gains rate by holding the stock for the appropriate holding periods. However, often you either run afoul of the AMT trap, or don t hold the stock long enough with the complicated 1 year + 2 year requirement, or the spread at exercise is zero or small, so the difference wouldn t matter anyway. NSOs do have a slightly higher tax because of the employment taxes. Overall, it s not clear the ISO is that much better for employees, so many people argue for NSOs instead. Even more confusingly, ISOs can make it harder to meet the long term capital gains holding period. Many people expect early exercise together with an 83(b) election will help them hold the stock longer, to qualify for long term capital gains. While this is true for NSOs, there is a murky part of the rules on ISOs that implies that even with an 83(b) election, the capital gain holding period does not begin until the shares actually vest. So, if you want to immediately exercise an option and file an Section 83(b) election, and you might have liquidity soon, it s better if you can have it be an NSO. Taxes on RSUs If you are awarded RSUs, each unit represents one share of stock that you will be given when the units vest. When you receive your shares you are taxed on their value at that time. Do you agree with the view expressed in source three that the diplomatic situation was the main reason for Henry s failure to obtain an annulment of his marriage to Catherine by 1529? We can clearly see that there is more than one reason why Henry wanted to gain an annulment to Catherine in 1529, and that it wasn t purely down to reasons all diplomatically related. Although saying this, it s also clear that the diplomatic situation at the time was a huge contributing factor for the failure. It most definitely did slow down the progress Henry made in achieving his annulment. At the time of the annulment, it was known that the Pope was hugely influenced by Charles V, who at the time was the Holy Roman Emperor. Due to Charles role ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another diplomatic situation that stacked against Henry, was the lack of allies he had, and especially the fact that he had no powerful allies to support him in his struggle, or powerful enough to oppose the Pope and Charles. With it looking that Henry had absolutely no diplomatic power or control in this situation, it was looking that he would stand almost no chance in changing the mind of the Pope and Charles into agreeing to the annulment. Although it s beginning to look like diplomatic status was the only reason that caused the failure in the annulment, there were other factors such as Wolsey. At this point in time,Wolsey was widely unpopular, especially in England. He had previously had huge influence amongst the ranks of the courtiers, but they now felt no need to obey his orders. Due to this, he justlike Henry had very few allies, and the few he did have weren t powerful enough to help him in his cause. Due to this he was faced with great issues when it came to convincing Campeggio that Henry had plausible reason to gain an annulment. Arguably the biggest fault of Wolsey, would be his very poor relations with the Vatican and the papacy. Another major problem banks have had to content with is the inconsistency in monetary and regulatory policies. The surveillance and regulatory measures of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) have unfortunately been unable to keep the pace with the rapidity of the charges in the financial system. All these factors deregulation, competition, innovation, economic recession, political instability, escalating inflation, and frequent reversal in monetary policy have combined to create a challenging and precarious financial environment for banks. Consequence of the new financial environment has been rapidly declining profitability of the traditional banking activities. Thus, in a bid to survive and maintain adequate profit level in this highly competitive environment, banks have tended to take excessive risks. But, then the increasing tendency for greater risk taking has resulted in insolvency and failure of a large number of the banks [9]. The continuing deterioration in the financial health of the banks and increasing incidence of bank failure since deregulation have raised question about the nature and state of the Nigerian banking sector. 1. Looking For Alaska By John Green Dylan Moore Professor Dorwick English 350 9 February 2017 Looking For Alaska by John Green Looking For Alaska by John Green is a coming of age story focused on a shy and friendless fifteen year old boy named Miles Halter. He leaves his home in Florida to attend Culver Creek Preparatory School in Alabama, seeking his Great Perhaps (Green 5). It is important to note that this novel is written in two parts, before and after. Before, Miles fits in perfect at Culver Creek where he meets his first true friends, Chip The Colonel Martin and Alaska Young. His friends help him adjust to life at the boarding school by teaching him to smoke cigarettes, drink alcohol, and pull pranks with the best of them. Miles begins to fall helplessly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In after, however, the World Religions class becomes a focal point for wrestling with the suffering following Alaska s death (Dean 24). This quote, while talking about the religion class, sums up the before and after structure perfectly. Before, Pudge s labyrinth was navigating Alaska s changes in character and his almost imaginary image of her, however after her death, he finds himself in a real life labyrinth of pain and despair, which he only escapes by forgiveness. I found Miles to be extremely relatable. For the first part of the book, he is experiencing the same things that I, and probably most other high school students, experienced. This makes it easy to understand his thought process and reasoning. That being said, he is a complete pushover. I would consider him to be the epitome of a follower. This turns out to be a major problem for him when he refuses to stand up to Alaska driving under the influence of alcohol. Having had friends try to drink and drive numerous times, I know that no one wants to be that guy, but his unwillingness to put his foot down ended up costing him dearly. John Green addresses a very serious problem that faces many people in today s society. Under no circumstances should one allow another person to drink and drive, and I felt as though he taught this lesson in the best way possible. Readers see the huge mistake that Miles and his friends made, and will hopefully use it as a reference when put in a similar position, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The two sides of this argument can be roughly boiled down to two words: environment and economy.
