Good Guys and Bad Guys Jimmy Conway and Sam Ace Rothstein, two of the most charismatic
characters in their respective films, are a lot more alike than they seem. Without actually analyzing
and going in depth with both characters, you could see why they both come off more different
than alike. First off, and a huge noticeable difference, is Jimmy s love life compared to Sam s love
life. Jimmy has no attachments to the ladies. Although the real James Conway was married, the
character portrayed by Robert De Niro was not. Portraying no love life in the film Goodfellas
really made Conway stand out from all the other supporting characters. Sam, on the other hand,
had Ginger. Ginger used up Sam like he was a human ATM machine and took advantage of every
bit of generosity Sam had in him. During the last act of the movie when Sam is throwing Ginger s
clothes around and telling her to get out you can tell that he was just acting out of emotion due to

focuses on the powerful Duke establishing certain expectations of the Duchess, and attempting to
control her. Hamlet, by William Shakespeare, concentrates on Laertes establishing certain
expectations of Ophelia, and seeking to control her. A Room of One s Own, by Virginia Woolf,
centers on societal expectations of Judith, and her father trying to control her. In all three texts, men

The purpose of Ralph in the play is one that unintentionally takes the good guy down, he is the

A 44 year Caucasian man with Down syndrome was referred to the graduate prosthodontic clinic at
the Indiana University School of Dentistry by his periodontist with a chief complaint of an inability
to chew and the unpleasant smile. His medical history included a diagnosis of controlled type II
diabetes mellitus, hypercholesterolemia and obstructive sleep apnea. There was no history of
allergic reactions to medication, local anesthetics or food. The patient is moderately intellectual
disable and he interacts well with dentists in general. However, the patient is afraid of any pain
induced dental treatment. His dental history disclosed that he had dental extractions and
prophylaxis. The patient regularly visits his dentist and the hygienist every six months. The patient
claimed that he has severe gag reflex and has some difficulty in breathing in a supine position.
Extraoral examination revealed no palpable nodes. The patient had no symptoms of any
tempromandibular joint discomfort or masticatory muscle pain. Examination of the
tempromandibular joints revealed no clicking, pain or crepitus at rest or in function. He had a full
range of mandibular movement with a maximum opening of 50mm with no deviation on opening

Equity historically had been an important source and still plays a vital role with many of our legal
concepts having developed from equitable principles. The word equity meaning fairness operates

James Barrie s Story Of Peter Pan
Since the manifestation of James Barrie s story of Peter Pan over one hundred years ago, there
have been numerous adaptations. The author Barrie also adapted his story as well on a few
occasions in many ways. In fact, Barrie was the first to plan a film scenario, however, his plan
failed to be used for the first film adaptation of Peter Pan in 1924 (Barrie, 2011). In this analysis,
the criticism of Peter Pan s movies will be separated in two ways, first, from the point of view
that the film is an exact replica of the novel and the other point of view is that the viewer considers
the film as an autonomous piece with different interpretations. I will first argue that Barrie s
original text adapted by Walt Disney s version is not in keeping with the darker, intricate original
story however, the film is an autonomous piece of art that successfully opens viewers to their
personal interpretations.
I will then consider extra cinematic codes of the interpretations for James Barrie s story of Peter
Pan through the adaptation of the film, Finding Neverland, with focus on: language codes, visual
codes, non linguistic sound codes and cultural codes (McFarlane, 1996).
To further the analysis a comparison from the original historical text of, J.M Barrie s Peter Pan
and Lewis Carroll s Alice s Adventure in Wonderland that have been adapted to film I will outline
