Ufo Research Papers
A UFO could be described as a mysterious object floating or moving in the sky. The first UFO
sighting occured in 1947, when a businessman named Dan Wilmot claimed that he saw a group of
nine fast moving objects in the area of Mount Rainier in Washington. Dan said that the objects looked
like saucers skipping on water. In the newspaper it was wrongly stated that the objects were saucer
shaped. Although the siting and story told by Dan Wilmot seems real, nobody ever recorded it so there
was not actual proof. Because of the 1947 sighting the Air Force became involved and their were other
sightings as well. Roswell Army Air Field press release says that The Army Air Forces here today
announced a flying disk had been found. Another report by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Even though there are tons of witnesses it is still somewhat difficult to believe the wild stories told by
the citizens of New Mexico. UFO sightings have changed quite a bit since the sighting in 1947. Now
if someone was to see a UFO they would freak out and most likely contact the media as soon as
possible, but back in 1947 I m sure most people didn t know what to think when a UFO appeared in
the night skies. Most of the UFO sightings sightings now are UFO s that target more public and larger
places instead of fields or open territory. In addition to the UFO sightings there is proof as to UFO s
such as crop circles and ancient hieroglyphics. Crop circles are circular formations in fields that are
believed to be created by Aliens and their UFO s. Many ancient hieroglyphics of aliens date back to
nearly three thousand ago. Many of these unique markings are found on Temples and ceiling beams.
Many scientists now believe that crop circles are man made and that they are not created by alien
activity. Matthew Williams, the age of 42, was the first person to ever be prosecuted for the harm and
destruction of a farmers crops while he tried to create a crop

Analysis Of IRL Fetish By Nathan Jurgenson
The rapid expansion of technological advancement is engulfing our culture. The author of IRL Fetish,
Nathan Jurgenson argues that people have a weird interest in the world of offline. Technological
advances are leading people into the realm of online, but Jurgenson also realizes the glorification of
movement to offline. People who believe online world is destroying the real life connection and many
writers lament, Writer after writer laments the loss of a sense of disconnection, of boredom (now
redeemed as a respite from anxious info cravings) ... (Jurgenson 127). People who are saying
technological advances is removing people from the real life so they think they can create a world
where online does not exist. This new movement is educating the world that phone must be put away
and boast about being offline. In IRL Fetish by Nathan Jurgenson, the author illustrates the practice of
fetishizing of the offline world creates a misrepresentation of online and the offline world. In the
article, Jurgenson highlights many details how people are boasting about their self control to stay
offline. One example is when the author mentions about Turkle s experience at Cape Cod. Turkle
leads the chorus that insists that taking time out is becoming dangerously difficult and that we need to
follow their lead and log off (127). Jurgenson criticizes her and people who are like her because these
people are focusing too much on the idea of offline, and they naïvely think they can escape the

Commentary On The Film The Help
The Help is a dramatic film filled with love, hope, and a will for change. Mississippi in the 1960 s was
no walk in the park for African Americans and this film shows the struggle of African American
women raising white family s children and managing their homes. The film uses an unexpected team
of black maids and an aspiring white writer trying to make her way to the big leagues. The women
along with the help of others set out to show the world the discrimination and unfair ways of life in
their town. The film will bring you to tears, wrench your stomach, and leave you biting your nails at
the edge of your seat. With deep characters and a historic plot showing change, this film will give you
a reason to do good and work for what you believe in.

The 5 Themes of Stara Zagora
Introduction
So far, there have been two important cities in my life Sofia, where I was born and where I m living
right now, and Stara Zagora, because it is the birthplace of my mother and for some strange reason I
feel connected to it. I chose the latter because it did seem like the more original choice, and also
because I am interested in actually finding out more about the city I spent every summer of my early
childhood in.
Location
Stara Zagora is located on 42°26′N 25°39′E, in central Bulgaria, south from Sredna Gora mountain.
The city s location makes it an excellent place for living, farming and animal husbandry. Due to these
conditions and the mild warm weather, it is no ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the past, it had been a frequent stop for Thracians, Romans, and ancient Greeks, and later Slavs,
Ottomans and Bulgarians travelling from Asia to Western Europe. Nowadays, the former glory of the
city is fading, but it still remains a quiet and beautiful place to live in. Goods are imported from other
big cities in the country, as well as Greece and Turkey. Stara Zagora s main exports are in the food
industry and heavy industries. (Nikolaeva) Most of the information and idea movement happens
digitally, either through the Internet or through local TV. As is the case in most Bulgarian cities,
people from the countryside move to work in the city, while young people from Stara Zagora move to
the capital Sofia to get their upper education.
Regions
Stara Zagora itself belongs to several regions, including the Upper Thracian Plain. Administratively,
the city is divided into around 30 smaller subsections, but the difference between the different parts is
very small. The main subsections are the Central Area, the Ayazmo Park, and the Industrial part. (Stara
Zagora Municipality) The Stara Zagora region itself, which includes the city and the villages around
it, is united by the common interests and identities of the citizens, who are very proud of some of the
cities iconic symbols, such as the football club Beroe , the Ayazmo Park, and the Samara Flag

Juvenile Crime Is The Number One Priority
INTRODUCTION Juvenile Crime has been increasing as society progress. Finding possible solutions
to help at risk youth is the number one priority. In society today, federal laws preventing violence
crimes are becoming more detailed and protected. However, it does not seem to stop criminals from
committing illegal acts, especially for at risk children in the city of Chicago. According to ABCNews,
Chicago s Murder rate is four time higher than New York City (Rosenzweig). Juvenile gang activities
are without a doubt, a reality, and is increasing uncontrollably in the city of Chicago, IL. Even though
there is no universal definition for gang , the National Institute of Justice, defined it as an association
with three or more non adult individuals who identify themselves as group that projects intimidation,
with a purpose of engaging in activities deem as a criminal act by society (NIJ). In order to prevent at
risk children from committing juvenile act, gang prevention programs must be supported throughout
the nation, especially in Chicago at the federal level. The following report will analyzed current
programs in United States, then determined whether the programs are contributing to society, and
providing additional alternative. DESCRIPTION The idea of gang originate in Europe and then
transfer to America. Although the method and time of when it migrate to America remained
unknowned. OJJDP claims that the first record of gang activities were in 1783 after the American

Dual Diagnosis Research Paper
Recognizing that help is need is the first step toward sobriety. Once addicts realize that they need help,
the next challenge is finding a New Haven heroin rehab center that suits their personal needs. While
there are many treatment centers available, addicts and alcoholics need to find the right one if they
want to recover. From looking for family programs to dual diagnosis treatment, the right treatment
center will offer individualized treatment options that can be modified for each patient.

The best treatment centers will typically offer dual diagnosis programs. Often, addicts have co

In addition, addicts will want to consider programs that have residential and outpatient options. With
an inpatient, residential program, individuals live at the site and are monitored continuously.
Individuals who still have to fulfill other commitments may want to enroll in outpatient treatment
programs since these allow patients to continue to work while they receive treatment.
Dealing With New Haven s Heroin Crisis
Currently, New Haven has a spiraling drug problem. In 2015, there were 415 heroin overdoses in the
state that resulted in death. To handle this problem, effective treatment facilities and rehabilitation
options must be made available to addicts. While there are some drug treatment facilities in the state,
the immensity of the drug problem means that many residents will have to go elsewhere to get
treatment.
For addicts who are ready to become sober, it is not always possible to find a New Haven heroin rehab
center with space available. To attain the best quality of care, these individuals may have to go out of
the state to seek help. Addicts who need help can begin the recovery process today through a
nationally recognized program. To begin your personal journey to a sober, happy lifestyle, call us

Chandler The Fair Analysis
Back in the personal office of Father Leonard Brotzman, OSA, in Fairfax, Virginia, the members of
the Parsifal astounded and surprised by what was revealed to them by the Augustinian. Especially in
the case of Chandler the Fair, who had issues understanding the significance of this story. So where
does all of this lead us to? wondered Chandler, completely unsure as to what exactly Base 113
signified in the context of their case. Where else, Chandler? replied Father Leonard. Anyone who has
ever looked into the legend, whether motivated by the impressive caches, the only source of the
Chronos Anomaly, or else looking for the truth, will not be able to uncover its location by chance. You
see, it is well hidden. The only reference of its true location is a map being kept inside a depository
box at one of the banks in New York s Manhattan, somewhere within the Archdiocese of New York s
jurisdiction. But even with the map, there is no way that any of you will get even 15 feet inside the
installation. And why is that, Father? asked Percival. Percival, I have always known you were a
stubborn boy, who would only follow such a tale for the money, remarked the Augustinian. The whole

Truman Doctrine Dbq
U.S. foreign policy throughout the twentieth century was fairly consistent with regards to trade.
Economic benefit to the U.S. in supplying belligerents during the First and Second World Wars left the
nation in relative secure economic condition. However, prior to the implementation of what became
known as the Truman Doctrine, the U.S. generally steered clear of foreign entanglements unless U.S.
security was threatened. The Truman Doctrine was a turning point in U.S. foreign relations. To

Sociology and Social Structure
Social structure is the way society is organized into predictable relationships. There are five elements
when you break down social structure. The first being status. We usually associate having a status to
the amount of influence, wealth and fame. But sociologists use the term status to refer to any of the
full range of socially defined positions within a large group or society, from the lowest to the highest.
Examples of this are being a son or daughter, dental technician or the president of the United States.
Sociologists also see some status to be achieved or ascribed and an ascribed status is when a person is
assigned to it by society without regard for the person s unique talents or characteristics. But the
achieved status comes to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Technology is defines how the society is and it means that its information about how to use the
material resources of the environment to satisfy human needs and desires. The first type of
preindustrial society is the hunting and gathering society, because they rely on whatever foods and
fibers are readily available. Technology is minimal in this society. Later Horticultural societies used
plant seeds and crops rather then subsist on available foods. People become less nomadic and place
more emphasis on the production of tools and household objects. The last stage in the preindustrial
development is the agrarian society. They primarily engage in the production of food. Technology
seems to grow but is still quite basic. A industrial society is a society that depends on mechanization to
produce its goods and services. THey rely on new inventions that facilitate agricultural and industrial
production, and on new sources of energy, such as steam. The postindustrial society is an economic
system that engages primarily in the processing and control of information. It focused on services
rather than manufactured goods. Large numbers of people become involved in occupations devoted to
the teaching, generation, or dissemination of ideas. Two specific sociologist had there own ideas about
modern societies. Emile Durkheim agreed that social structure depends on the division

Language problem and other difficulties. English is the communication language within the company

such as sometimes it s necessary to ask for the details from their American colleagues to understand
their requests better. American managers admit the language difficulties as well but they understand
that it s not easy to express oneself in a foreign language. There are also differences in the approach to

Moreover, Russian colleagues are perceived as a bit negative and American ones as too optimistic
regarding new ideas:
Russian colleagues can be, I don t want to say negative , but there is always an element of an argument
to what they do. When you bring up an idea instead of always looking at anything optimistic they say
yes, but... . It s always something a kind of negative and there is no optimistic look. I don t know if it s
cultural, I m not sure. Sometimes it is said that people in the USA are too optimistic, but it s one of the
biggest things that I can see (Participant 5).
This observation is in compliance with Thomalin and Nicks (2007) and Bergelson (2003) who
describe Russians as more fatalistic and Americans as having a can do attitude. Also American
colleagues avoid the word problem and start to discuss business issues from the positive things. While
Russian managers concentrate on the negative things first.
Stress during cross cultural communication. Four out of six managers have some stress during cross
cultural communication with their Russian or American colleagues. According to the opinion of one
American manager, around 80% of the American employees agree that it would be less stressful if
there could be less communication with their Russian colleagues. Russian managers have

X Ray have been around since the late 1890s. It was created and used for medicine. It is an invisible
ray that can pass through solid matter. X Ray was perfect for the use of locating broke bones through
the skin of a body. Shortly after it was produced for medicine, the military saw a better fit for the new

The Creation Of New Inventions
If people are the same, can the creation of new inventions come into existence? How can society and
individuals improve if there are no differences? In fact, innovation comes from the mind, but the
uniqueness of people has led to these creations. Ever since the first incandescent lightbulb to the
present age of rockets and computers, these inventions are what have helped society progress forward
into a new era of life. However, how can people comprehend that a single person has created a
complex innovation? To explain, a quote describing how to succeed in inventing while facing several
obstacles is the analogy of the confrontation between the stream and the rock, the stream always wins,
not through strength but by perseverance ( A quote by H. Jackson Brown Jr. ). Going into detail, to
overcome an obstacle does not mean physical strength is necessary to succeed, but through mental
qualities is where success truly appears. For instance, making mistakes on a test can motivate a person
to persevere and improve on the exam. Nevertheless, its creation comes from individuals, but not all
humans can invent a revolutionizing innovation. Why? The characteristics of a person are how an
invention is born. Inventors, such as Thomas Edison, did not revolutionize the world by sheer
strength, but by their mental capabilities to achieve what they wanted to present to the world. That is
their persona. People s persona shows the aspect of their character and the presentation of who they

What Is The Difference Between The Princess Bride Book And...
In the novel The Princess Bride we read of conflict and exploration, and like me if you have seen the
film version, you hold a optimist interpretation of the story. That was my opinion beforehand, after
comprehending the book I learned that the movie seemed lacking. Luckily, my view of this voyage
has transformed from a fanciful one to a more practical notion. William Goldman was aiming to
express to us, in the novel version is that time is made up of realism, scattered with romanticism. What
I m indicating by this is that even practical people must try to have faith in Twoo wuv. We learn that
even thought we have our impractical conceptions, life occurs and life is what is genuine. What The
Princess Bride delivers is the truths of life and how life is not evenhanded.
The primary thing you spot when you begin The Princess Bride is that it does not begin totally like the
movie. It opens by illustrating the imaginary life of William Goldman, where we learned that his
father always read him a story called The princess Bride. As a child he retained caringly how his dad
had narrated the story of affection and courage. Sadly to discover, that his dad had abridged it while
telling the story. This flipped his universe upside down, he says: Who knows when this world is going
to change? Who knows before it actually happens, that every prior experience, all the years, were a
preparation for . . . nothing. The concept here is not that planning is not valuable, but that all of

America and Iran s Nuclear Program Essay examples
The ongoing struggle between the Iran and the United States over Iran s quest to acquire nuclear
weapons has led to different ideas and proscriptions to solve the problem. In one particular quote, an
unknown speaker advocates that it is in the best interest of the United States and its allies to strike Iran
if diplomacy fails, calling this the most prudent option. This controversial idea must be considered not
only in its short term effects, but also in the long term result. Although it may be tempting to use
nuclear weapons and long range missiles to disarm Iran, it would be far too costly for the U.S. and its
allies. For this reason, the quote does not present a practical solution to the problem. There are

The destruction that followed was unparalleled; according to the BBC, over 200,000 people were
killed immediately following the attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki and countless survivors became
sick with radiation related illnesses in the following years (BBC News). There was much criticism
following the nuclear attacks because the majority of those killed were civilians. If such a situation
occurred in Iran, it can only be assumed that results would be similar, if not more devastating. If the
U.S. attacked Iran in a more conventional manner, like a ground invasion, the question of sovereignty
and enforcement of international law is raised. Although the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty
prohibits states without nuclear weapons from acquiring them, it is difficult to enforce international
law, especially as states have sovereignty within their own borders. Only a few countries, including
the U.S., are able to threaten and deter countries that violate international law. Because of this, often
the only laws that are enforced are those that concern the most powerful countries. The International
Atomic Energy Agency monitors and investigates countries to guarantee they are not acquiring
nuclear weapons. Recently, the IAEA released a report saying there is a credible belief that Iran is
trying to create a nuclear device; this has heightened tensions between Iran and the U.S. Also at stake
is the United States reputation and position as a world

Bicycle Thieves Themes
Bicycle Thieves, an Italian film directed by Vito De Sica is a classic of the Neorealist film movement.
The film depicts a story of a father and son and their journey together to find the main character s;
Antonio Ricci s; stolen bike. On a baseline level, this film shows a sense of mystery and action, all
surrounded by the family unit. The family unit divides into a few prevalent themes within the film
such as the bond of husband and wife, the bond of the father and son and the karma philosophy and
specifically how it affects community. The sense of family is a strong theme within the film Bicycle
Thieves. This is played out through Antonio s relationships with his wife, Maria. In the beginning,
Antonio and Maria s relationship takes hold of the story. Their relationship to another is compact and
yet pure. In many ways, at first one can see Maria s character as plot device. Yet upon closer
examination one can see she sets up the strong family unit that drives her husband and son; Bruno;
upon their mission. Maria is a strong character and a strong women. I believe it is her strong presence

It speaks to the philosophy around decision making, and how one decision against another human
being can affect one s own life. While Karma is a mere theory I believe this film brings this theory to
life. There is a scene between the One who sees , Maria and Antonio. Within this scene (approximately
20 minutes into the film) Antonio convinces Marias not to waste her money on repaying the physic

Compare And Contrast O Brother Where Art Thou And The Odyssey
Comparing and Contrasting
Ancient Literature and Modern movies can portray the same messages. Both relate to human
condition, but oftentimes the form reflects the age in which it is written. The movie O Brother, Where
Art Thou? (2000) uses a modern setting (1930s Mississippi) to relate to Homer s epic The Odyssey
(800 BCE). The epic The Odyssey by Homer and The movie O Brother Where Art Thou by The Coen
Brothers both tell the story of a protagonist that takes a long journey home to his wife. Both face many
obstacles along the way. In the movie, Sheriff Cooley is compared to Poseidon, the Blind old man is
compared to Tiresias and Ulysses is compared to Odysseus reconnection with his wife. Both the
movie and epic show that human nature are present in both the epic and movie.
Sheriff Cooley in the movie and Poseidon in the epic are both chasing Ulysses and Odysseus. The

On Golden Pond Essay
One can t help but to draw links to the aging process when watching the three times Oscar winning
movie On Golden Pond. In Mark Rydell s On Golden Pond, we encounter a couple in the middle of
dealing with the anxieties and hardship of moving through the latter part of their life cycle. The older
actors played by Henry Fonda and Katharine Hepburn demonstrates different levels of activity, age
stratification, continuity, and disengagement theory in their lives.
Activity Theory argues that the more active a people are the more likely they are to be satisfied with

The Concert At The Meyer Theater
On Wednesday, February seventeenth, I had the pleasure of attending Noteworthy s concert at the
Meyer Mclean Theater. Noteworthy is an a capella group from Brigham Young University, and is
composed entirely of female students. Though only one of the girls is a music major, all share an
incredible love of music, and it showed in their thoughtful, energetic performance. Rather than having
a theme for their concert, the nine singers of Noteworthy performed a wide variety of songs from
different eras and genres of music. The one thing these pieces did have in common was their
instrumentation: that is to say, they had none. All of the noises needed to recreate each piece, whether
it was jazz or pop, were produced from the singers themselves. This style of music is called a capella.
As with many types of music, a capella found its start in a religious setting. Around the year seventy
A.D., rabbis prohibited the use of instruments in synagogues in order to distinguish their rituals from
those of the pagans. Then, in the first century, monks created Gregorian chants, which were sung in
monasteries and lacked instrumentation. They steadily rose in popularity through the eleventh century,
being spread throughout the world by the Catholic Church. Later on, during the colonization of the
America s, African slaves took to singing their native songs without instruments, as they were not
permitted any. This tradition inspired the barbershop quartets of the early 1900 s, which often

Social Work And Social Work
The Common and Separate Ground On the first page of Keith Lucas s, So You Want to be a Social
Worker he makes note of how Christianity and social work share a lot of the same values, because of
this the practice of social work can be viewed as a form of ministry. For example, most social workers,
no matter their religion believe that all people have worth, and see a great importance in the showing
of understanding and kindness towards them. Through my studies in APS 101, at Redeemer
University College, I have learned that social work was brought up by the Church; I never knew of
this relationship. This new knowledge makes me eager to learn more about the field, and the ways in
which I can use it to serve not only my neighbors, but God himself, through its missionary
characteristics. This text has shown me that my beliefs impact the way I see the world, the people in it,
and that my thoughts and actions are inevitably affected by them. As I move deeper into my studies, I
am learning the importance of this, and of bringing my whole self into whatever situations I face.
Societal values are constantly changing, but Christian values remain firm, as they are planted with
biblical roots (Keith Lucas, 1987, p.3).
Social Work and Christian Beliefs I now understand that the conflicting beliefs, under the blanket of
Christianity can be divided into three categories. The first are the primary beliefs, these are
foundational and include events, such as God creating the world and

Dolphin Foraging Techniques Essay examples
Bottlenose dolphins are known to use sea sponges as tools when foraging for food in the ocean. This
behavior is referred to as sponging . Sponging refers to when these particular dolphins put a sea
sponge over their rostrum (snout area) and use it to help collect food. Different explanations have been
given as to why Bottlenose Dolphins engage in this behavior. It has been perceived that young
dolphins learn this behavior from their mothers. Researchers are also exploring the option that a
differentiation in diving skills exists between dolphins caused by variation in the mitochondrial genes
processing of proteins that are involved in the creation of the Bottlenose Dolphins respiratory system,
and that variation may have lead them to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once found, researchers documented the behavior of these groups and the activities that these groups
partook in. Long term photographic databases were used to establish identity, and if the dolphin was
noticed to be engaged in sponging at least once, they were included in the dataset for the study. On the
eastern gulf, researchers were already aware of the sponging dolphins due to previous studies.
Between the years of 1994 and 2008, remote biopsy samples of sponging dolphins were taken when
the opportunity to do so allowed. Using a Magellan Meridian Marine GPS device, the site that each
biopsy was taken at was noted appropriately. The biopsy sample was made up of 29 sponging dolphins
and 54 non sponging dolphins. At a total of 83 dolphins, 59 of the dataset consisted of 24 males and
59 females. The researchers recognize that sponging is a predominantly female activity, however they
observed some males engaging in the activity as well and for that reason they decided to include males
in the data, as to test for possible gender influences, but genetic influence is what they researchers
were truly looking to rule out. To do this they chose to examine the coxII and ctyb genes, using a
Gentra Tissue kit to obtain the DNA. These two mitochondrial genes play a vital role in the respiratory
chain, which is link directly to the dolphins metabolic energy and therefore could possibly affect the
overall diving ability

Symbols and Journey Used in Ellison s Book Invisible Man ...
In the book Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison and the play Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller the two
writers use various symbols to develop the American Literature Theme of The Journey. Two important
symbols Ellison uses in Invisible Man are dreams and the narrator s briefcase. Two important symbols
in Death of a Salesman are diamonds and the car. Ellison and Miller use these symbols to take their
characters through their life s journey, whether physical or metaphorical. The portentous dream the
narrator has in the beginning of Invisible Man foreshadows his whole journey throughout the book. In
the his dream at the end of the first chapter, he finds an envelope in his briefcase that says, To Whom

The briefcase holds the contents of the narrator s past; it haunts him and he cannot relieve himself of it
until the very end. When he is burning the contents he becomes a phoenix rising from the ashes to a
new life, a new journey. Within the briefcase is his high school diploma, the piece of paper with his
new identity on it that was given to him by the Brotherhood, Clifton s doll, the anonymous letter from
Jack. All of these things were a part of his old identities, always with him in that briefcase. In Death of
a Salesman, the diamonds are Willy s past and future, what could have been and what could be. Ben
tells Willy in one final scene, The jungle is dark but full of diamonds, Willy. One must go in to fetch a
diamond out. It s dark there, but full of diamonds (Miller 1993). Willy had the opportunity to go with
Ben to find real diamonds, real happiness. He missed his first chance and instead he must now die to
find the happiness, the diamond in the rough. The car is the way for Willy to reach true happiness, no
worries; a means of transportation eventually to Willy s death. Willy s life never amounted to anything
much in the end and he needed to escape. The car is his ferry to the afterlife, to his happiness. The first

My Catholic Church Experience Paper
On April 11th, 2017, I attended mass in the Blessed Edmund Chapel. Unlike other weekday masses,
this one was scheduled at 7 AM because of it being Holy Tuesday. Never having been to a Catholic
mass before, all of this was a new experience. Growing up in a non denominational Christian
household, I did not have a clue what to expect. From this experience, I was able to gain insight into
the Catholic practices and how they conduct their masses. It also helped to expand on the teachings we
discussed in religion class. When you first walked into the Blessed Edmund Rice Chapel, you see
chairs lined up in front of the altar and podium. Underneath a majority of the chairs, lay a bible to
follow along with the sermon of the mass. In front, in front of the altar, there were two candles that a
Brother lit during the mass. Even though the chapel being small might seem like a disadvantage, I
thought that this feature offered a more personal and close experience. Up on the altar, in between the
candles, there was a wooden figure of Jesus on the cross. It was in a way similar to churches I have
attended before, except there was no altar or podium, and was ... Show more content on

the worship differs from the fellowship church and at a Catholic Mass. This was my first time
experiencing music like this and also having a service conducted like this. It took a shorter period of
time than I was used to and involved less singing. Attending a Catholic mass definitely helped me to
better understand the practices of Catholics. It taught me more about scripture and also provided me
with an insight to a different religion s customs. From this experience I will take away a new
knowledge of the religion the college I attend represents. It also showed me what a Brother exactly

What Is The Victim Of Police Brutality
Police brutality is a phenomenon that is occurring more and more frequently. Because of the current
police crisis happening in our country today, officers are becoming more violent and untrustworthy.
We the people have to have some sort of enforcement for society to work and without it, chaos could
ensue. In the circumstance involving Officer Charles Dorcent and Anthony Carty, Mr. Carty is
obviously the victim. The video clearly shows Dorcent hitting Carty in the face when Carty had no
way to attack or defend himself. Also, the injures Mr. Carty sustained were outrageous and not
necessary in the situation he was in. The officer in question abused his social status as a law enforcer
and was punished immediately for his actions. In the video

Questions On Common Types Of Contracts
Contract Types There are multiple factors that influence the type(s) of contract(s) utilized/selected
within a project. Some of these factors include: the level of uncertainty related to the scope of work,
the amount of project risk willing to be assumed, importance of meeting schedule milestone dates, and
the need for projected costs, among others (Darnall Preston, 2013). Whatever the driving factors are in
the selection process, once established, the type of contract selected can have a significant influence
on the decision making process related to the trade off of the triple constraints of cost, time, and
performance (Kerzner, 2013). This paper will briefly explain five common types of contracts focusing
primarily on how each type can affect project constraint trade off.
Common Types of Contracts There are two general types of contracts: fixed price and cost
reimbursable, with each main type having several variations (Darnall Preston, 2013). The two most
common variations of fixed price contracts are, firm fixed price and fixed price incentive fee (Kerzner,
2103). For cost reimbursable contracts, the three most common variations are, the cost plus incentive
fee, the cost plus award fee, and the cost plus fixed fee (Kerzner, 2013). Each type and variation
influences project trade off decisions relative to the triple constraints of cost, time, and performance
differently (Kerzner, 2013).
Firm Fixed Price (FFP) In a FFP contract, all costs are incorporated

Civil War Amputations
The Civil War was fought with much carnage, and was one of America s most uncivilized , wars with
a soldier s chance of survival about twenty five per cent. While many were killed by other soldiers,
usually through bullets, a large portion died as a result of disease such as: dysentery, mumps,
pneumonia, typhoid fever, measles, and tuberculosis, diseases that are curable today. These diseases
were spread through the horribly sanitized camps found on both sides of the war: Confederate and
Union. And while many died from disease, some died from other soldiers bullets; these deaths may
have been prevented if the technology, or overall techniques used by surgeons, during this time period
were more up to date, as amputations were the main procedure

Changes in Operations are Needed for Future Threats and...
Threats and terrorism will always exist and are constantly evolving. Even after the dreadful 9/11
attacks, terrorists remain diligent at planning attacks against the United States and its allies. Although
not on the same scale as the 9/11 attacks, terrorists have successfully executed plots in the United
States, the United Kingdom and France. For example, on April 15, 2013, an attack at the Boston
Marathon occurred, killing three people and injuring 264 individuals. In the United Kingdom, on 7
July 2005, the London bombing incidents took place. Fifty two individuals were killed and 700 were

The types of threats aimed at the nation are changing as well. Terrorist groups such as IS (also know

come from foreign countries, and are sometimes American or European citizens. The recruits lineage
can come from the country in which the terrorist reside or the recruit may be impressed or drawn to
the ideals and beliefs of another country. Terrorists or transnational criminals are not limited to
members of foreign intelligence agencies, militant groups, or insurgents, but they now also consist of
university students and business executives (Gebhardt, 2004). Some criminals and terrorist come from
well to do families or high status jobs. For example, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab also known as the

Let s Put Pornography Back In The Closet Analysis
In the article Let s Put Pornography Back in the Closet, the writer tries to identify and define what
pornography and obscenity is. According to the text, feminists believe that pornography is anything
that aims to cause harm to the image of what it means to be a woman. It also includes any source that
depicts the female body being harmed in any way to please the viewer s sexual fantasies. Brownmiller
adds to the feminist definition by stating that when any person is being degraded or humiliated for the

In today s society things that may be considered obscene and pornographic are much more easily
attained by the average person. She believes that one of the reasons porn is so easily accessible to the
public is because many people cannot differentiate between pornography, obscenity and modern art or
literature; what is considered vulgar and distasteful by some, can also be thought of as beautiful and
classy by others. Brownmiller explains that the women portrayed in magazines today are
photoshopped to represent what a desirable woman is supposed to look like; this has led many women,
including the writer, to feel ashamed and uncomfortable with their bodies. It is because of these
reasons that the writer feels that there should be restrictions on what is allowed to be provided and
distributed to the public. She also believes that the government needs to use today s societal norms,
which apply to the everyday average person to figure out what should be allowed to be released to the

prohibit what she defines as vulgar and distasteful pornography and obscenity, but requests that it

Self Reliance As Defined By Webster s Dictionary
Self reliance, as defined by Webster s Dictionary, is the reliance on one s own efforts and abilities.
Emerson expands on that concept in his 1841 essay entitled Self Reliance. For Emerson, self reliance
has many different facets. His main point is the importance of embracing individuality. He says, not
for nothing one face, one character, one fact, makes much impression on him [man], and another none.
It is not with out pre established harmony, this sculpture in the memory (2). This idea of divine
predestination is central to his argument for believing in oneself. He asks the reader to trust his or her
own thoughts. After all, all great thoughts from all great thinkers were unique to them. The world
could not have benefited from Plato, or Luther, or Christ, if they had not trusted their own instincts
and believed them true for all mankind. These great men were able to live in the world as in solitude,
walking and functioning among others while trusting their own thoughts and accepting the fact that
they were often alone in them. Emerson warns against living in the past, repeating the thoughts of
others. Instead he would rather one live for oneself in the present, for power ceases in the instant of
repose; it resides in the moment of transition from a past to a new state... This one fact the world
hates, that the soul becomes; for that forever degrades the past... (26). Emerson does not mislead his
readers into thinking self reliance will be easy. In fact, he clearly

Theme Of Walang Panginoon
The societal status of man dictates how man behaves, for it is not the actions of man that determines
their character, but on the contrary their social identity that determines their actions. In a similar effort,
(Marx, 1977) asserts that the conflicts in a given society are strictly attributed to the constant clash of
the two opposing units; the wealthy and the downthrodden. Bridging these philosophies to the short
story of Deogracias Rosario entitled Walang Panginoon , it is evident that the concept of class struggle
impacts the behavior and actions of the characters in the said story. In relation, the two main
characters namely Marcos and Don Teong portray the classic demonstration of class inequalty
between the oppressed proletariat and autocrat plantation owner, respectively.
Supporting the idea of the conflicting concepts of the powerful and the powerless, this piece of
literature mirrors the master slave theme of the world today. In a sense, the novel portrays that those
who have power and wealth were able to deprive the inferior groups of their rights and can easily
manipulate them. Similar to the shortstory, Don Teong represents the dominant force in the society. He

Conversely, this would be the case in the shortstory given, as Marcos finally found a way to even
things and rise as the victor this time. He was able to devise a plan to murder Don Teong without
doing it himself. Just like what the Marxist theory suggests, the oppressed will not be vanquished,
instead he/she will find a way to combat the suggestive force (Capitalism). The death of Don Teong at
the end of the story is a manner of presenting a message that abusing a person will deliver the abuser
to death. In short, the abuser can never

Oedipus-Complex In Shakespeare s Hamlet
Renowned psychoanalyst, Sigmund Freud, coined the term Oedipus complex in 1910 when explaining
a child s psychological desire for his opposite sex parent. Coupled with this desire is a bitter sense of
rivalry with the parent of the same sex, as the child feels envious and compelled to win the affection of
the coveted parent (Freud 19). Shakespeare s Hamlet, although written prior to the development of this
theory, is often referenced as a prime example of this complex. Hamlet famously descends into
madness in an effort to avenge his father s death; however, although Hamlet is seemingly devastated
by the loss of his father, it is not until he learns of his mother s marriage to Claudius that he truly
begins to unravel. Once alone, he erupts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They provide the three classes of ghosts that Elizabethans recognized: the authentic, subjective, or
false ghost.
When illustrating the characteristics of a false ghost, they describe, It was thought to be a prankish
delight of the devil to assume the shape of a person lately dead and in this guise appear to relatives
and incite them to some deed which if consummated would entail the forfeiture of their souls (Boas
and Hahn 99). Because Shakespeare was undoubtedly Protestant, he surely intended for the ghost in
Hamlet to reflect the qualities of a false ghost, for Protestants believed that ghosts were truly demons
sent from Hell to tempt people into performing unholy acts. Consequently, the ghost of the king is
unquestionably a demon sent to persuade Hamlet to fulfill his utmost unholy desire: to be with his
mother. However, if this ghost is truly a demon, it would not want to appear as such to Hamlet. As
Boas and Hahn suggest when referencing Hamlet, this demon materializes under the guise of urging
Hamlet to commit a heroic act of justice, when in reality it is tempting him to remove the only person
who stands in the way of his deepest, sinful wish. If the ghost were to command him to murder
Claudius so Hamlet can fulfill his incestuous desires, Hamlet would be less apt to act because he does
not want to acknowledge such desires, for the Oedipus complex is an unconscious and repressed
affliction.

The Collapse of Communism in the USSR, Central, and...
The collapse of communism in the USSR and Central and Eastern Europe
Before we move on to our essay on to analyse The Collapse of Communism in USSR and Central and
Eastern Europe and the reasons behind its collapse, we should discuss and understand the definition of
Communism.
Communism is a social system in which all the resources, economic activities are owned by state or
country.
It is a system in which wealth is dispersed equally among the people and there is no private ownership
of the resources and wealth. The state owns and controls resources and property. Soviet model of
communism was based on these ideals, all the opposition parties were banned only who shared the
communist ideals were allowed. Complete power was into the hands of the Communist party. In 1917,
the Soviet Union witnessed the Bolshevik Revolution which overthrew the czarism and a communist
state was born. The Central and Eastern Europe nations followed USSR and adopted communism,
with their leaders directly under the command and control of the Soviet Union. Communism was
doomed from the start due to the moral weakness of human mankind and the corruption of its leaders.
The first reason which played role in the failure and collapse of communism was the fact that the
Communist party s domination was illegitimate from the beginning. Eastern European countries did
the revolution have the support of more than a minority of people, yet this minority retained absolute
control. The communist

  • 2. Ufo Research Papers A UFO could be described as a mysterious object floating or moving in the sky. The first UFO sighting occured in 1947, when a businessman named Dan Wilmot claimed that he saw a group of nine fast moving objects in the area of Mount Rainier in Washington. Dan said that the objects looked like saucers skipping on water. In the newspaper it was wrongly stated that the objects were saucer shaped. Although the siting and story told by Dan Wilmot seems real, nobody ever recorded it so there was not actual proof. Because of the 1947 sighting the Air Force became involved and their were other sightings as well. Roswell Army Air Field press release says that The Army Air Forces here today announced a flying disk had been found. Another report by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even though there are tons of witnesses it is still somewhat difficult to believe the wild stories told by the citizens of New Mexico. UFO sightings have changed quite a bit since the sighting in 1947. Now if someone was to see a UFO they would freak out and most likely contact the media as soon as possible, but back in 1947 I m sure most people didn t know what to think when a UFO appeared in the night skies. Most of the UFO sightings sightings now are UFO s that target more public and larger places instead of fields or open territory. In addition to the UFO sightings there is proof as to UFO s such as crop circles and ancient hieroglyphics. Crop circles are circular formations in fields that are believed to be created by Aliens and their UFO s. Many ancient hieroglyphics of aliens date back to nearly three thousand ago. Many of these unique markings are found on Temples and ceiling beams. Many scientists now believe that crop circles are man made and that they are not created by alien activity. Matthew Williams, the age of 42, was the first person to ever be prosecuted for the harm and destruction of a farmers crops while he tried to create a crop ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Analysis Of IRL Fetish By Nathan Jurgenson The rapid expansion of technological advancement is engulfing our culture. The author of IRL Fetish, Nathan Jurgenson argues that people have a weird interest in the world of offline. Technological advances are leading people into the realm of online, but Jurgenson also realizes the glorification of movement to offline. People who believe online world is destroying the real life connection and many writers lament, Writer after writer laments the loss of a sense of disconnection, of boredom (now redeemed as a respite from anxious info cravings) ... (Jurgenson 127). People who are saying technological advances is removing people from the real life so they think they can create a world where online does not exist. This new movement is educating the world that phone must be put away and boast about being offline. In IRL Fetish by Nathan Jurgenson, the author illustrates the practice of fetishizing of the offline world creates a misrepresentation of online and the offline world. In the article, Jurgenson highlights many details how people are boasting about their self control to stay offline. One example is when the author mentions about Turkle s experience at Cape Cod. Turkle leads the chorus that insists that taking time out is becoming dangerously difficult and that we need to follow their lead and log off (127). Jurgenson criticizes her and people who are like her because these people are focusing too much on the idea of offline, and they naïvely think they can escape the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Five Themes Of Stara Zagora Kaloyan Kolev 10/2 17.10.2016 The 5 Themes of Stara Zagora Introduction So far, there have been two important cities in my life Sofia, where I was born and where I m living right now, and Stara Zagora, because it is the birthplace of my mother and for some strange reason I feel connected to it. I chose the latter because it did seem like the more original choice, and also because I am interested in actually finding out more about the city I spent every summer of my early childhood in. Location Stara Zagora is located on 42°26′N 25°39′E, in central Bulgaria, south from Sredna Gora mountain. The city s location makes it an excellent place for living, farming and animal husbandry. Due to these conditions and the mild warm weather, it is no ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the past, it had been a frequent stop for Thracians, Romans, and ancient Greeks, and later Slavs, Ottomans and Bulgarians travelling from Asia to Western Europe. Nowadays, the former glory of the city is fading, but it still remains a quiet and beautiful place to live in. Goods are imported from other big cities in the country, as well as Greece and Turkey. • 13. The Creation Of New Inventions If people are the same, can the creation of new inventions come into existence? How can society and individuals improve if there are no differences? In fact, innovation comes from the mind, but the uniqueness of people has led to these creations. Ever since the first incandescent lightbulb to the present age of rockets and computers, these inventions are what have helped society progress forward into a new era of life. However, how can people comprehend that a single person has created a complex innovation? To explain, a quote describing how to succeed in inventing while facing several obstacles is the analogy of the confrontation between the stream and the rock, the stream always wins, not through strength but by perseverance ( A quote by H. Jackson Brown Jr. ). Going into detail, to overcome an obstacle does not mean physical strength is necessary to succeed, but through mental qualities is where success truly appears. For instance, making mistakes on a test can motivate a person to persevere and improve on the exam. Nevertheless, its creation comes from individuals, but not all humans can invent a revolutionizing innovation. Why? The characteristics of a person are how an invention is born. It opens by illustrating the imaginary life of William Goldman, where we learned that his father always read him a story called The princess Bride. As a child he retained caringly how his dad had narrated the story of affection and courage. Sadly to discover, that his dad had abridged it while telling the story. Noteworthy is an a capella group from Brigham Young University, and is composed entirely of female students. Though only one of the girls is a music major, all share an incredible love of music, and it showed in their thoughtful, energetic performance. Rather than having a theme for their concert, the nine singers of Noteworthy performed a wide variety of songs from different eras and genres of music. The one thing these pieces did have in common was their instrumentation: that is to say, they had none. All of the noises needed to recreate each piece, whether it was jazz or pop, were produced from the singers themselves. This style of music is called a capella. As with many types of music, a capella found its start in a religious setting. Around the year seventy A.D., rabbis prohibited the use of instruments in synagogues in order to distinguish their rituals from those of the pagans. Then, in the first century, monks created Gregorian chants, which were sung in monasteries and lacked instrumentation. They steadily rose in popularity through the eleventh century, being spread throughout the world by the Catholic Church. Social Work And Social Work The Common and Separate Ground On the first page of Keith Lucas s, So You Want to be a Social Worker he makes note of how Christianity and social work share a lot of the same values, because of this the practice of social work can be viewed as a form of ministry. For example, most social workers, no matter their religion believe that all people have worth, and see a great importance in the showing of understanding and kindness towards them. Through my studies in APS 101, at Redeemer University College, I have learned that social work was brought up by the Church; I never knew of this relationship. This new knowledge makes me eager to learn more about the field, and the ways in which I can use it to serve not only my neighbors, but God himself, through its missionary characteristics. This text has shown me that my beliefs impact the way I see the world, the people in it, and that my thoughts and actions are inevitably affected by them. As I move deeper into my studies, I am learning the importance of this, and of bringing my whole self into whatever situations I face. Societal values are constantly changing, but Christian values remain firm, as they are planted with biblical roots (Keith Lucas, 1987, p.3). Between the years of 1994 and 2008, remote biopsy samples of sponging dolphins were taken when the opportunity to do so allowed. Unlike other weekday masses, this one was scheduled at 7 AM because of it being Holy Tuesday. Never having been to a Catholic mass before, all of this was a new experience. Growing up in a non denominational Christian household, I did not have a clue what to expect. From this experience, I was able to gain insight into the Catholic practices and how they conduct their masses. It also helped to expand on the teachings we discussed in religion class. When you first walked into the Blessed Edmund Rice Chapel, you see chairs lined up in front of the altar and podium. Underneath a majority of the chairs, lay a bible to follow along with the sermon of the mass. In front, in front of the altar, there were two candles that a Brother lit during the mass. Even though the chapel being small might seem like a disadvantage, I thought that this feature offered a more personal and close experience. Up on the altar, in between the candles, there was a wooden figure of Jesus on the cross. It was in a way similar to churches I have attended before, except there was no altar or podium, and was ... I learned how the worship differs from the fellowship church and at a Catholic Mass. This was my first time experiencing music like this and also having a service conducted like this. It took a shorter period of time than I was used to and involved less singing. Attending a Catholic mass definitely helped me to better understand the practices of Catholics. It taught me more about scripture and also provided me with an insight to a different religion s customs. • 29. Questions On Common Types Of Contracts Contract Types There are multiple factors that influence the type(s) of contract(s) utilized/selected within a project. Some of these factors include: the level of uncertainty related to the scope of work, the amount of project risk willing to be assumed, importance of meeting schedule milestone dates, and the need for projected costs, among others (Darnall Preston, 2013). Whatever the driving factors are in the selection process, once established, the type of contract selected can have a significant influence on the decision making process related to the trade off of the triple constraints of cost, time, and performance (Kerzner, 2013). This paper will briefly explain five common types of contracts focusing primarily on how each type can affect project constraint trade off. Common Types of Contracts There are two general types of contracts: fixed price and cost reimbursable, with each main type having several variations (Darnall Preston, 2013). The two most common variations of fixed price contracts are, firm fixed price and fixed price incentive fee (Kerzner, 2103). For cost reimbursable contracts, the three most common variations are, the cost plus incentive fee, the cost plus award fee, and the cost plus fixed fee (Kerzner, 2013). Each type and variation influences project trade off decisions relative to the triple constraints of cost, time, and performance differently (Kerzner, 2013). While many were killed by other soldiers, usually through bullets, a large portion died as a result of disease such as: dysentery, mumps, pneumonia, typhoid fever, measles, and tuberculosis, diseases that are curable today. These diseases were spread through the horribly sanitized camps found on both sides of the war: Confederate and Union. • 33. Self Reliance As Defined By Webster s Dictionary Self reliance, as defined by Webster s Dictionary, is the reliance on one s own efforts and abilities. Emerson expands on that concept in his 1841 essay entitled Self Reliance. For Emerson, self reliance has many different facets. His main point is the importance of embracing individuality. He says, not for nothing one face, one character, one fact, makes much impression on him [man], and another none. It is not with out pre established harmony, this sculpture in the memory (2). This idea of divine predestination is central to his argument for believing in oneself. He asks the reader to trust his or her own thoughts. After all, all great thoughts from all great thinkers were unique to them. The world could not have benefited from Plato, or Luther, or Christ, if they had not trusted their own instincts and believed them true for all mankind. These great men were able to live in the world as in solitude, walking and functioning among others while trusting their own thoughts and accepting the fact that they were often alone in them. Emerson warns against living in the past, repeating the thoughts of others. Instead he would rather one live for oneself in the present, for power ceases in the instant of repose; it resides in the moment of transition from a past to a new state... This one fact the world hates, that the soul becomes; for that forever degrades the past... (26). Emerson does not mislead his readers into thinking self reliance will be easy. • 34. Theme Of Walang Panginoon The societal status of man dictates how man behaves, for it is not the actions of man that determines their character, but on the contrary their social identity that determines their actions. In a similar effort, (Marx, 1977) asserts that the conflicts in a given society are strictly attributed to the constant clash of the two opposing units; the wealthy and the downthrodden. Bridging these philosophies to the short story of Deogracias Rosario entitled Walang Panginoon , it is evident that the concept of class struggle impacts the behavior and actions of the characters in the said story. In relation, the two main characters namely Marcos and Don Teong portray the classic demonstration of class inequalty between the oppressed proletariat and autocrat plantation owner, respectively. Supporting the idea of the conflicting concepts of the powerful and the powerless, this piece of literature mirrors the master slave theme of the world today. • 35. Oedipus-Complex In Shakespeare s Hamlet Renowned psychoanalyst, Sigmund Freud, coined the term Oedipus complex in 1910 when explaining a child s psychological desire for his opposite sex parent. Coupled with this desire is a bitter sense of rivalry with the parent of the same sex, as the child feels envious and compelled to win the affection of the coveted parent (Freud 19). Shakespeare s Hamlet, although written prior to the development of this theory, is often referenced as a prime example of this complex. Hamlet famously descends into madness in an effort to avenge his father s death; however, although Hamlet is seemingly devastated by the loss of his father, it is not until he learns of his mother s marriage to Claudius that he truly begins to unravel. When illustrating the characteristics of a false ghost, they describe, It was thought to be a prankish delight of the devil to assume the shape of a person lately dead and in this guise appear to relatives and incite them to some deed which if consummated would entail the forfeiture of their souls (Boas and Hahn 99). Because Shakespeare was undoubtedly Protestant, he surely intended for the ghost in Hamlet to reflect the qualities of a false ghost, for Protestants believed that ghosts were truly demons sent from Hell to tempt people into performing unholy acts. Consequently, the ghost of the king is unquestionably a demon sent to persuade Hamlet to fulfill his utmost unholy desire: to be with his mother. However, if this ghost is truly a demon, it would not want to appear as such to Hamlet. As Boas and Hahn suggest when referencing Hamlet, this demon materializes under the guise of urging Hamlet to commit a heroic act of justice, when in reality it is tempting him to remove the only person who stands in the way of his deepest, sinful wish. If the ghost were to command him to murder Claudius so Hamlet can fulfill his incestuous desires, Hamlet would be less apt to act because he does not want to acknowledge such desires, for the Oedipus complex is an unconscious and repressed affliction. ...
