Classical Conditioning Experiments
Out of the groups with living planarian and consistent data, 14 of the 41 had both sections respond to
the light and six had neither respond. The most responsive section was shown to be the head section,
with 29 responses, and the tail section only ended up with seven responses. These planaria that did
react to the light showed that the classical conditioning was able to work on them by showing a
reaction to the light without being shocked. These results show that the majority of the planarian had
some kind of a reaction with 36 of the 41 had either the tail or the head react. Unfortunately, these
results are not completely accurate due to the fact that a few planaria died and a few groups added data
from the regenerated planaria instead of from the original. Also, some of the data was inconsistent
because the table would say the head or tail responded, but was stated in the comments that the
planarian was dead. Another issue with the results was that some groups were unsure if a section had
responded or not. There were also most likely a few unknown errors as well. There could have been a
reaction that was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This experiment proved that both sections can react, although not all will. The most common was for
only the head section to react to the light. This may be due to the fact that planarian have most of the
same neurotransmitters that humans have, but also a bonus, the ability to grow the brain back. Levin, a
professor and director of the Tufts Center for Regenerative and Developmental Biology, believes that
when a planarian regrows the brain, the same memories are still retained. Animals store memories
inside the brain, although, his experiments show that planaria also can store them outside of the brain,
in other body tissues (Blanding

Special Education Issues For Public Schools
Special Education issues The issue that I struggle with is the lack of proper special education in public
schools. I think this is an issue that is seen locally as well as nationally. Inner city school students
suffer the most with improperly trained staff, unqualified teachers, lack of supplies, and not enough
money to fund the programs.
I am very familiar with this issue and feel strongly about the need to reform special education laws
and practices. A child in need of special education services should not be punished for what the school
lacks. I am very passionate about this subject because my daughter suffers through public school. I
have seen firsthand how detrimental the situation can be on a child. My daughter is one of twins born
at 30 weeks and weighing only 2lbs 14.9 oz. She spent five weeks in the neonatal intensive care unit
and had a feeding tube, breathing machine, heart monitor, and incubation. Later one she received early
intervention services such as occupational therapy.
After she started school I kept telling the teachers something wasn t right and I was always told she
was fine and that I couldn t possibly know she had learning issues. The school kept moving her along
acting as if nothing was wrong. Once she hit 2nd grade I watched her do homework and she started to
mirror write all of her spelling words. She had no idea what she had done and insisted they were right.
I sent the homework back to school like that and demanded a meeting with the teacher.

Acetaminophen Chromatography
Introduction The purpose of this experiment is to analyze the following analgesics: acetaminophen,
aspirin, caffeine, and ibuprofen. This analyzes is to be done using thin layer chromatography (TLC).
Also, in this experiment we isolate β carotene from spinach using column chromatography (CC).
Chromatography is a separation technique. It separates a mixture in one state of matter by moving it
through another substance in another state of matter (Woodford, 2016). Chromatography consists of a
compound that does not move in the entire experiment (stationary phase) and another compound that
runs through the stationary phase (mobile phase).
Thin layer chromatography uses a thin sheet of silica gel as the stationary phase. The chromatography
plate is then to be placed vertically inside a chromatography chamber (Thin layer chromatography,
NA). Column chromatography works very similar to TLC, but instead of using a thin layer of silica
gel, in this case we fill a column with this gel (University of Toronto, NA). Finally, we are looking to
calculate the value of Rf for every substance. Rf is defined as the distance travelled by the compound
divided by the distance travelled by the solvent in the TLC experiment (Weldegirma, 2016). ... Show

The Real Inspector Hound. Essay
The Real Inspector Hound Contrasting settings, ideals and people dominate The Real Inspector
Hound. Almost every character has an opposite, and is otherwise totally unique. Cynthia is opposite to
Felicity, Simon is the contrast of Magnus, and so on. Tom Stoppard has included these contrasts for a
variety of reasons and effects that combine to create the disturbing effect of the play incredibly
effectively. But what individual effects do his characters create by opposing each other so accurately.
At the start of the play, Stoppard deliberately confuses the audience with the opposing characters of
Birdboot and Moon, at first; the audience is left to indulge in the view of moon and the ... Show more

Birdboot is a proletarian moron, just the sort of person they like to imagine when they think of a critic.
Birdboot asks where Higgs is; moon instantly replies with a paragraph of life, the universe and
everything, now the audience know that the two people are critics, and they also know Moon is the
other type of critic, the sort who does waffle about the meaning of life and reality in his reviews.
Ironically, despite these characters being totally obvious as opposites, as the audience have worked out
from just a few lines of speech, Moon defines his opposite as Higgs, leaving Birdboot out of the
question. The audiences now how some time to scoff at Stoppard s flimsy attempt to create realistic
critics. This effect is just what Stoppard wanted from the opposing critics in the opening scene. The
audiences is confused as to what is the play, and what is not, they are waiting for what they think is the
play to start, they are become increasingly agitated and are passing the time scoffing about how truly
terrible Stoppard s characters are, if Stoppard is lucky, they may also be beginning to look forward to
a pantomime. These effects allow Stoppard to introduce the comical character of Mrs Drudge with far
greater effect than would have been possible had Stoppard simply introduced her from the start.
Stoppard even manages to increase this

The Creation Of The New German Nation, Or What Would Become
The creation of the new German nation, or what would become known as the German Unification,
mirrored similar revolutions around the globe, including that of the Meiji Restoration and the Ita lian
Unification. Undoubtably, by the turn of 1871, a new German Empire emerged, but what remains in
uncertain territories, is whether this new German Empire was created from above or below. Neither
position can be disregarded or invalidated, as the power of the people holds equal significance to that
of the people in power. However, as clearly highlighted by Ernest Renan in a declaration of
nationhood, we [the people] are what you make us; we are what you are , demonstrates the complex
relationship between a nation, its leaders and their people. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Danes and Alsace Lorrainers were inconvenienced by war, as their respective nations loss to
Germany had left their lands to be transferred from one nation to another and they somewhat found
themselves left to be an alienated minority in a new country that was not their own. While, the Poles
were the butt of historic German feelings of superiority , as they d generally found themselves within
the German Empire and along with the other minorities, they were all, in one way or another, treated
as actual or potential enemies of the Empire . Essentially, this was a period of internal division in
Germany , as the minorities of the Poles, the Danes and Alsace Lorrainers combined with others that
opposed the nature of the new German nation, including many catholics, set the reality that although
the new German nation had been created from above, it was yet to be brought into existence below.
This left the creation of the German nation to mirror the reality of Italian unification, as highlight by
Massimo d Azeglio we have made Italy, now we have to make the Italians . Therefore, the German
nation was created from above, but it also needed to be created from below as well.
With the German nation having been created from above, it then needed its citizens to be created as
well. In order to combat the minorities, those that oppose the new German Empire and to truely

Jetblue s Good Service Quality
ABSTRACT (Isabelle Aultman and Ben Cvek) In any business service quality is going to make or
break the company in the long run. JetBlue has great ideas on how to compete and how to be lower
priced while still gaining profit. Customer and provider gaps are all about what a customer expects,
what a customer perceives, what a customer is willing to accept, what a company understands about
those expectations, a company s communication both internal and external, and the company systems
and processes (Zeithaml, et al.,2013).
Although JetBlue had good service quality in place for the most part, it lacked the proper processes
and systems to properly provide support. Ultimately, customers had expectations and were not willing

Additionally, JetBlue targeted large metropolitan areas with high average fares to compete with the
larger airliners. Even small things such as more seats and a more fuel efficient aircraft increased
profits. Things seemed to be running great for JetBlue as they increased the number of destinations.
All of these things kept JetBlue profitable. It seems as though JetBlue has strayed from their original
core values, although, the company seems to be on the way to resolving the issues that plague them.
STRATEGIC PROFILE (John Beck and Admira Salazar)

Jet Blue was birthed in 1999 by David Neeleman and went public in 2000 as an independently owned
and operated Airline. Headquarters is located in Long Island, New York with its main base at John F.
Kennedy International Airport with most of the flights occurring in the United States and the
Caribbean (Docslide, 2015).
From its very essences, JetBlue showed high signs of profitability, initially the company set out to sell
over five and a half million shares at an average of $25 per share. However, the company actually
topped off at $27 dollars selling almost 6 million in shares. Being in the airline industry means the
level of competition is high, so JetBlue wanted to establish itself as a high end airline with

What Are The Problems In Tom Hayden s In The Port Huron...
In the Port Huron Statement, largely written by Tom Hayden, the Students for a Democratic Society
state America s problems are found within the Values, Students, and Society. These problems come at
a time when the Cold War threatened them, and while the South struggled with racial bigotry. The
student body writes about ideals being pushed on them from professors who fall behind with the
times. In classes, where they believe they should have the freedom to be idealistic, they are instead
met with resistance to change. As students, they also feel they give no contribution to the real world.

distribution and usage of water in California. In January and April of 2014, Governor Jerry Brown

to effectively meet the water demand throughout the state. The Executive Orders also directed the
State Water Resource Control Board to implement emergency drought regulations by adding
additional the following sections to Title 23: ● Section 863 discusses the background information
leading up to the issuance of this additional section. ● Section 864 prohibits the usage of potable water
for domestic activities such as: decoration (fountains mainly), washing a motor vehicle without the
usage of a shut off hose, and for landscaping purposes (sprinklers, cleaning of pathways) that causes

Slavery In Joseph J. Ellis American Creation
Joseph J. Ellis American Creation thoroughly explained the attitude that many of the Founding Fathers
had towards slavery. Although they knew slavery was immoral and went against what they believed it,
they were unsure how to solve the problem. The Founders came up with three main solutions;
shipping the slaves back to Africa or the West Indies, gradually liberating the slaves, or postponing a
solution and allowing the next generation to deal with finding one. With the first two possible
solutions, the Founders came up with economic, political, and social consequences, which led them to
choose the third.
The Founders came to the conclusion that removing slavery would damage the country economically.
One of the main solutions the Founders had to end slavery was to relocate them. Jefferson s idea was
...the blacks...must be shipped to Africa or some location in the West Indies. (211). The cost of that
alone would have been enormous and extremely detrimental to the economy of the United States.
However, that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
[Slavery] became a deeply embedded presence, now spreading relentlessly westward. Ellis (241).
Slavery was extremely important to the people of the United States. Even many of the Founders were
attached to their slaves. The first president, George Washington, owned more than a hundred slaves
himself (9). Jefferson knew that one problem with gradual emancipation would be having slavery
prohibited. He knew this would be an issue because of how fond many southerners were of slavery.
Jefferson s policy could put an end to slavery. However it would not stop the exploitation of blacks.
This was another problem when trying to find a solution to slavery. Even if slavery was ended, the
blacks would have to work for a barely, if at all, livable wage. The goal of prohibiting slavery was to
make all men equal. This was a concept first put on paper in the Declaration of

Essay on Gender in The Crime Drama Fiction Genre
According to John Fiske, Television as a culture is a crucial part of the social dynamics. Indeed any
television genre is based on apparent similarities, differences and on expectations as well as
assumptions shared by the viewers. It is also a cross cultural translatability as it is understood in a
diversity of contexts and markets. According to Graeme Burton (2000), the genre study leads to
understanding of audience pleasures and revelation of cultural myths. Also an understanding of
finance and marketing within television and finally an understanding of intertextuality and
postmodernist forms of television. However audiences are aware of the codes and conventions that

Charlieʼs Angels was according to Anna Gough Yates (2001) a representation of femininity to the
cultural dialogue surrounding feminism in the US during the 1970s . The three main protagonists in
the series were private detectives called Jill Munroe, Sabrina Duncan and Kelly Garrett. They all
worked for their mysterious boss Charlie that we never see and were helped by Charlieʼs sidekick
Bosley. Each of the characters brought something different to the series. For example, Jill Munroe
played by Farrah Fawcett was the glamorous and sexy one; however her easy going charm and her
lively personality helped the angels on several investigations. Then there was Sabrina Duncan who
was the smartest of the angels. She was always thinking about solutions and her strategic and
calculated mind was a key ingredient to the success of their missions. Finally the last angel was Kelly
Garrett who was had a mix of both good looks and intelligence. The three angels showed us how they
can be confident and sexy by using many clothes and makeup to disguise themselves and fool the

Emotional Recognition In Adolescent Brains
Emotional recognition is an essential part of the socialization process in human beings. Various
research has been conducted on emotional recognition between same age groups, on the bases of
mental illness or brain lesions or damage. One of the experiments conducted by Drapeau, Gosselin,
Gagnon, Peretz, Lorrain titles Emotional Recognition from Face, Voice, and Music in Dementia of the
Alzheimer Type was the base of my small scale project. Their research looked at emotional
recognition in the areas of face, voice, and music in elderly who had dementia of the Alzheimer type

Emotional recognition can be found in prosody which has been heavily research with elderly DAT

conducted with only auditory prosody between the age groups of adolescents and adults. Music is
another variable that can be used to asses emotional recognition and a lot of the research is centered
on DAT and Alzheimer s with some centered around ages differences. An experiment conducted by
Terwogt Van Grinsven (1988) looked at music clips and the emotional response in children 5 to 6
years old, and 9 to 11 years old and an adults with no specific age range. There results where

Single Sex Education Essay
Introduction:
Single sex education began in 1890, in England, for men only. Education was believed to be for men
only because men usually took over the family by providing funds necessary to run a household.
Usually women learned only fundamental concepts, such as how to cook, clean, sew and care for
children. Women did not attend school; rather, they learned the skill of reading and writing, and some
acquired mathematics through private lessons or a tutor, but if they were rich they were sent to a
boarding school where the emphasis would be on elegant accomplishments like music, dancing,
drawing, painting, embroidery, and even sometimes French. Women were not allowed to further their
education after grammar school. If they wished, they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1968, the U.S Department of Education, once the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare,
issued a declaration saying that school officials are responsible for providing equal educational
opportunities for all, regardless of one s nationality, race, or color(Salomone 15.) Although these laws
gave each person the right to attend a school of his or her choice, the creation of single sex schools
brought a new definition to education. The single sex format creates opportunities that don t exist in
the coed classroom (Sax 1/11).
Students who attend single sex high schools have a greater chance of being less distracted than in a
coeducational high school.
Boys tend to lessen their aggressive edge and become communal in a single sex setting. They can just
be boys and not have to worry about what girls may say because they are not in the same school. Boys
can enjoy poetry and play in an orchestra. This is a tremendous contrast to a co educational high
school setting.
Girls drop their shyness and begin to take risks in a single sex school setting. They become more
competitive. They embrace sports like field hockey and soccer with enthusiasm without worrying
about appearing like tom boys.
Young Teenagers are subjected to an inundation of pressure to become adults before they are ready to
do so. They grow up too swiftly. Single sex education is a gentler, more controlled atmosphere.
On the contrary: some public schools which have adopted

The Impact Of Agriculture In Agriculture
As the growth rate of the population steadily increases, a surge in consumption of commodities will
additionally increase . One basic commodity that will have an escalated demand would be food.
Innovation within technology has allowed the process of mass production of goods. Production of
goods on a large scale allows farmers to meet the needs of the majority of consumers capitalizing on
market share. In order to meet consumers forever growing needs, land must be acquired in order to
generate new farms for agriculture. Although the needs of consumers are being meet, the act of mass
production of agricultural is contributing to the destruction of our planet. Consumers need to be aware
of the repercussions of mass production on a global scale, in order to create a sustainable outcome
while still continuing to let needs be met. With contributing factors of global warming , the population
needs to be informed of harmful processes through agricultural farming such as deforestation,
livestock, and crop emissions.
The the population growing at alarming rates, food supply must increase. Farmers will need to seek
more land in order to meet these needs. By 2050, population will increase from 7.3 billion people to
9.7 billion. With a 32.8 percent increase in population, food demand is estimated to increase from a
range of 59 percent to 98 percent (Elferink Schierhorn, 2016). With demand for food doubling in the

Short Story Of Seashell Bay
Me and Clog roamed the streets for days, searching for scraps of food and a dry place to sleep.
Eventually, we stumbled into a soup kitchen. From there, a warden took us to the police station, and a
few days later, they found my next of kin Harry Jewel. I d never met him before and Mummy never
spoke of him.
The Sprigs settled on her lap but she was miles away with her thoughts.
Each night, I slept on the floor in the police cell. Then one morning, they wrote my name on a label
and tied it to my dress. Clementine Beaumont, Seashell Bay. After that, a lady took me to the train
station. However, I d never been on a steam train before and it was orrible and smoky, although I do
remember the cows in the fields. You don t get them in the city. And other than me, there were about a
hundred other kids, all packed in the carriages like bully beef.
How long did you stay on the train? asked Misty.
Around seven hours. They said the journey would have been shorter if the engine hadn t broken down.
When I arrived at Seashell Bay, a man on the platform came out of his hut and offered to carry my
luggage. But I didn t have none.
Didn t have any, Misty corrected with a smile.
That s what I said. Didn t have none. The man told me to wait on the bench and then he rushed off to

Every human in this world is promised to something from love to a better country.
Promises are to be true to happen, but sometimes those promises are broken and never to happen. An

As Layton explains, There were guards, just teenagers, marching around with guns (Layton 164).
Jonestown was continually attacked and Jim Jones would call those attacks White Nights. As, Layton
tells what Jim Jones would say about White Nights, They [CIA] want to invade and kill us. Father
says that they ll try again, too. We ve had several attacks. Father calls them White Nights since it is
white men who are trying to ruin our project here (Layton 160). Jonestown people got to actually live
horrible attacks when they were in Guyana then when they were in the city. As said, Jim Jones wanted
to move to Guyana because it is a small island isolated from every harm that there is, yet they moved
to where the harm was occurring at the moment. As Jim Jones promised to his people that wanted to
stop all the violence. An example was when Jones was trying to recruit people to the Promise Land,
Help me eradicated injustice from all our lives...Be a part of a fellowship that will work to rid our
society of hatred, racism, and poverty...Through my ministry you can help make history. As a group,
we can wipe out racism and immorality throughout America (Layton 36). In the other hand, Martin
Luther King Jr. dream was that he wanted to stop the violence that was going around the world due to
racism. King Jr. explains, We can never be satisfied as long as the Negro is the victim of the

skin color, which was unfair. At the end, Jones did little to make his promises come true; as he was the

one of the benefits of summer camp for foster kids is that it allows the child to come to a place where

Effect Of Employees On Employees
Abstract This paper examined the effects on employees when the manager is present in the workplace.
It covered the definition of a manager, positive effects on employees, characteristics of a good
manager, negative effects on employees, lack of characteristics in a bad manager, and statistics to back
up some information. The relationships between employees and managers and types of workplaces
were also examined. The study concluded that the presence of a manager on a regular basis is overall,
the best option for both the employees and the workplace. Having a manager around help the
employees stay focused, helps managers better understand their employees, and benefits the
organization as a whole. Manager s Presence and Effect on Employees No matter what area of study a
person may choose to pursue, they will end up with a manager in some form or another. Whether it is
being a student, having a part time job, or a lifelong career, everyone will be faced with a manager. A
manager can be defined as a person responsible for controlling or administering all or part of a
company or similar organization (Grout, Fisher, 2011, p.103). In addition to Grout and Fisher s
definition of a manager, a manager oversees all events and ideas held by the organization. Based off of
the definition of a manager, it can be concluded that a manager has the most important say in what an
organization carries out. Due to the fact that the manager has the highest say, employees tend to

Analysis Of The Meditations By Marcus Aurelius
The Meditations was written by Marcus Aurelius, a Roman emperor, almost a hundred years after the
birth of Christ. This man had all the power in the world, but he remained virtuous and pious as
illustrated through his book. This book was never intended to be published. It is a collection of
exhortations, reminders, reflections, and ideologies meant for his own self improvement. By reading
his Meditations, I have grown in thought and character. Aurelius has wonderful lessons everyone can
learn from. Author Marcus Aurelius was born 121 AD in Rome. His father died three years after. He

gratitude for in Book 1. At age seventeen, Marcus was adopted ... Show more content on

Marcus incorporation of Stoicism is evident in my favorite lessons from his book. History and Impact
The first clear reference to Marcus s Meditations was made around 300 AD by Themistius in his
speech to the eastern emperor Valens. He calls Marcus s aphorisms exhortations . From then on, the
Meditations has been translated hundreds of times from Ancient Greek. Marcus never titled his notes,
they were just jottings in his journal. There are multiple titles for them, but the one that has stuck the
most is, of course, his Meditations. The Meditations has impacted men of power and soldiers the most.
Marcus was the emperor when he wrote his exhortations. Therefore, leaders are able to identify with
his wisdom. There are a lot of excerpts that would be helpful to leaders. For instance: The man
without one and same aim in life cannot himself stay one and the same throughout his life. The maxim
is incomplete unless you add what sort of aim that should be. Judgments vary of the whole range of
various things taken by the majority to be goods in one way or another, but only one category
commands a universal judgment, and that is the good of the community. It follows that the aim we
should set ourselves is a social aim, the benefit of our fellow citizens. A man directing his own
impulses to this end will be consistent in all his actions. 112:21 If I was in a position of power, I would
consult this book because Marcus was in a position of power too and he has

Core Competency Essay
Core competencies are the most significant value creating skills within a company and key areas of
expertise that are distinctive to a company and critical to the company s long term growth. Core
competencies are the pieces that a company is superior than its competitors in the critical, central areas
of the company where the most value is added to its products. These areas of expertise may be in any
area from product development to employee dedication. A competence which is central to business s
operations but which is not exceptional in some way is not considered as a core competence, as it will
not generate a differentiated advantage over rival businesses. It follows from the concept of core

The game is changing. It is not just about math and science anymore. It is about creativity,
imagination, and, above all, innovation. Without creativity, there is no innovation. As every good
gardener knows, you can t rely on the same old flowers season after season. They die. New seeds are
needed to rejuvenate the garden and stimulate growth (Dundon, 2002). What is unfolding is the
commoditization of knowledge. The Theory of evolution says continuous change is inevitable and if
one does not evolve, they will perish (Darwin s theory of evolution, 2006). This is true for businesses
and companies. If companies do not evolve then their survival is in jeopardy. A key to survival is a
core competency that the company has built over time. These competencies are what a company is
built upon. Companies that are successful and continue to survive have shown that they focus on
building core competency and in turn their ability to innovate increases. Based on their core
competencies these companies have built products (line extension) or services (redirection) that can be
applied to variety of applications. Successful companies are eager to build competencies that will help
them become world leaders. They do not solely focus on products alone; they focus on System
Thinking, how one piece affects the entire system (Dundon, 2002). This type of thinking shows a
focus on core. A piece of the system is most likely

more easily spread than HIV (Human Immunodefiency Virus), because its prevalence is greater than

rates of hepatitis C infection in comparison to overall population. They attributed this to following
reasons; sexual behaviors, tattoo or piercing materials, nail or hair clippers, and razors. Some studies

Consumer Privacy Companies Woo Business Companies
The article, found in The Wall Street Journal, Consumer Privacy Companies Woo Business
Companies by Elizabeth Dwoskin, gives us a brief overlook at how more products are aiming toward
the protection of consumers privacy. On March 2nd, Silent Circle announced the release of their
Blackphone as an enterprise product. The Blackphone is an android phone announced last year that
aims at giving its consumers total privacy. It accomplishes this by encrypting all data stored by voice
or text message. Additionally calls and data are sent through virtual private networks not through the
Internet. In doing so it grants ultimate protection for the user by insuring that no information can get
hacked into because it has never been connected to the Internet. Although this product was already
released last year, this year the company is pursuing businesses to use it as solely a company use
phone. With about 40% of people using their personal phones for business, major companies are put at
risk of losing significant information. Silent Circle s products are able to give ease to this possibility.
Over recent years, consumers have been putting a greater emphasis on online privacy. An increasing
amount of users are purchasing privacy protecting programs designed to protect personal information
stored in computers. With recent hacks to major companies, businesses are also increasing their cyber
security. Experts predict that the spending on cyber security product will increase to $83.2

An Analysis Of The Red And Black House
Two stand before you. One, on the right, a blue and black bungalow. Next to it, a red and black house.

The Realtor then guides you to the master bedroom. There is a king bed with a blue duvet and a

Ah, you might be wondering why there is no tv, but a whole surround system. It is because of that.
The Realtor points at stereo. Next to it a massive collection of Electric Light Orchestra is seen with a

Apart from everything he loved, the thing he loved most, if you could not tell already, was spreading
his interests to others so they can experience the same love for it as he did and no one is left out.

You then step outside and into the house on the left. As the Realtor explained, the houses may be

quieter. Clearly the owner of this house lived a very different life than his neighbor.

Image Of Death In Hamlet
In Hamlet, death is present at the three levels, the literal, the perceptual and the conceptual. At the
literal level, the skulls are not only seen but smelt olfactory imagery in Hamlet is closely related to the
theme of death. Indeed, when the king asks Hamlet about the corpse of Polonius, the sarcastic Prince
answers: if you find him not within this month, you shall nose him as you go up the stairs into the

(Hamlet, IV, iii, 36 38)
The king himself describes his murderous deeds as smelling to heaven. The image of rot is pervasive
in the play. The play, therefore, does not address sight and hearing alone. It also presents us with
odors. The odors of Hamlet vex the reader and the audience. Not only are they offensive, but also ...

who may or may not have lived once. Identity, therefore, is always related to life. The gravedigger

Gardening And The Life Cycle Of A Plant
I did my project with Taylor McNeil and we decided to focus our world on gardening. When we were
assigned this project, we brainstormed some different ideas that our world could revolve around. The
first idea that we had was the season of Fall. We thought that it would be a great idea to revolve our
world around fall because it was the season that we are currently in but then we decided to do
something different. Some of our other ideas included birthdays, recycling, and gardens. We then
narrowed it down between two choices, gardening and recycling. Both of us are passionate about our
environment and so these topics were extremely intriguing. We then decided that we were the most
interested in gardening and selected it to be our world. Gardening is a pretty broad topic so we
focussed more on the reason behind gardening and the life cycle of a plant. When looking at all the
Common Core Standards there were many standards that could be incorporated into a lesson about
gardening, so many that we chose six of them. The first one we chose was CCSS.ELA
LITERACY.RL.2.1. In this standard, students would ask and answer questions demonstrating that they
understand the text. A way to incorporate this into a classroom would be to ask students questions,
about gardening and plants, before you read aloud a book about gardens to them. Instead of having the
students answer the questions right away, have them think about these questions while you read aloud
the book. After you finish reading

Absolutism Under The Influence Of Samgha
Although it may not seem evident initially, even the Chinese Buddhist Association and therefore the
Chinese sangha ultimately remain under the control of the communist government. These goals
ultimately help the government have a say in Buddhist affairs because the Chinese Buddhist
Association cannot exist without the government in the first place. For example, the Chinese Buddhist
Association and the samgha completed the socialization of monasteries under the name of promoting
Buddhism (Welch 1961, 7). Under the Land Reform Act of 1960, monks and nuns received the same
amount of land as farmers. After land distribution, the number of monks in the monasteries continues
to decrease as many of them return to the laity (Welch 1961, 1). One monastery, for example, which

The process, known as political indoctrination, helps the samgha understand that although the
government possesses ultimate authority, their voices can influence interpretation of doctrines,
scriptures, and beliefs (Yu 1971, 54). Even where the samgha receives their education remains
centralized. Most samgha studies through the Chinese Buddhist College that is affiliated with the
Chinese Buddhist Association as well. The samgha are made aware of the relationships in politics and
religion. Since only one college controls the samgha teaching primarily, the process remains very
standardized and differences get eliminated. This helps maintain legitimacy and power because one
organization and its clergy makes the decisions rather than multiple organizations fighting over control
(Yu 1971, 55). Thus, the hierarchy gets further simplified because the Chinese government simply
answers to one organization, the Chinese Buddhist Association, rather than multiple organizations.
Ultimately, this strengthens the government s control over the

Symptoms And Symptoms Of Hallucinations Essay
INTRODUCTION
Hallucinations are one of the most intriguing secrets of the mind, which are characterized by false
visions, sounds, taste, smell, and touch that can occur when one is awake; it has a sufficient sense of
reality, but one has no control over it. Hallucinations are the form of perception. There is no particular
part of the brain that is involved in hallucinating. For example, people seeing faces could have a
hyperactivity in fusiform face area involved in facial recognition. People with hyperactivity in the
auditory cortex might experience auditory hallucinations: hearing music, or voices, that are not there.
Hallucinations can be frightening, strange, or even amusing and divine. There are numerous causes of
hallucinations: they are usually experienced by people with schizophrenia, Charles Bonnet syndrome,
Parkinson s disease, or other psychological and mental disorders. However, hallucinations can also be
experienced by healthy individuals, who are the subjects for studying the nature and causes of
hallucinations, as they do not interact with other symptoms like in patients with schizophrenia.
Researchers use functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) scans to track the brain activities
during hallucinations. The aim of this research paper is to describe several types of hallucinations,
ways of studying hallucinations, and possible treatments.
DISCUSSION
1. Emotional hallucinations Hallucinations do not have to be vivid; one of the most

Money As Defined In The Textbook Is An Asset That Is...
Money as defined in the textbook is an asset that is generally accepted as payment for goods and

originally any physical substance that was desired by others, such as gold, silver, or even cattle. Today
when someone mentions money you think of bills or coins, debit card and credit card. However, for
the purpose of economics, money actually has three distinct uses, some of which are not adequately
covered in the above definition. These uses are: means of payment, a unit of account, and a store of

Future value is the present value of an initial investment times one plus the interest rate for each year
you hold it. The higher the interest rate, the higher the future value will be. Present value is equal to
the value of today of a payment made on a future date. Meaning the higher the payment, the higher the
present value at a given interest rate. The higher the interest rate, the lower the present value of a
given payment. The longer the time until the payment is made, the lower the present value of a give
payment at a give interest rate. For a given increase in the interest rate, the present value of a promised
payment is to be made must be measured in the same time units. Financial markets perform the

Essay On Cyber Runestone
The Kensington Runestone was discovered almost 120 years ago, but it is believed to be over 650
years old. In 1898, a farmer from the outskirts of Alexandria, MN (Kensington) discovered the
medieval artifact. Olof Öhman was originally from Sweden, and came to America in 1879 to own land
and farm it, since owning land in Sweden was not an option for him. The Kensington Runestone was
unearthed when Olaf Öhman was clearing his land for farming. He came across the stone entangled in
the roots of an Aspen tree. It was a 202 pound stone, so it was no easy task getting it out from under
that tree. There was more than one eye witness when the runestone was being uncovered. When the

  • 2. Classical Conditioning Experiments Out of the groups with living planarian and consistent data, 14 of the 41 had both sections respond to the light and six had neither respond. The most responsive section was shown to be the head section, with 29 responses, and the tail section only ended up with seven responses. These planaria that did react to the light showed that the classical conditioning was able to work on them by showing a reaction to the light without being shocked. These results show that the majority of the planarian had some kind of a reaction with 36 of the 41 had either the tail or the head react. Unfortunately, these results are not completely accurate due to the fact that a few planaria died and a few groups added data from the regenerated planaria instead of from the original. Also, some of the data was inconsistent because the table would say the head or tail responded, but was stated in the comments that the planarian was dead. Another issue with the results was that some groups were unsure if a section had responded or not. There were also most likely a few unknown errors as well. There could have been a reaction that was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This experiment proved that both sections can react, although not all will. The most common was for only the head section to react to the light. This may be due to the fact that planarian have most of the same neurotransmitters that humans have, but also a bonus, the ability to grow the brain back. Levin, a professor and director of the Tufts Center for Regenerative and Developmental Biology, believes that when a planarian regrows the brain, the same memories are still retained. Animals store memories inside the brain, although, his experiments show that planaria also can store them outside of the brain, in other body tissues (Blanding ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Special Education Issues For Public Schools Special Education issues The issue that I struggle with is the lack of proper special education in public schools. I think this is an issue that is seen locally as well as nationally. Inner city school students suffer the most with improperly trained staff, unqualified teachers, lack of supplies, and not enough money to fund the programs. I am very familiar with this issue and feel strongly about the need to reform special education laws and practices. A child in need of special education services should not be punished for what the school lacks. I am very passionate about this subject because my daughter suffers through public school. I have seen firsthand how detrimental the situation can be on a child. My daughter is one of twins born at 30 weeks and weighing only 2lbs 14.9 oz. She spent five weeks in the neonatal intensive care unit and had a feeding tube, breathing machine, heart monitor, and incubation. Later one she received early intervention services such as occupational therapy. After she started school I kept telling the teachers something wasn t right and I was always told she was fine and that I couldn t possibly know she had learning issues. The school kept moving her along acting as if nothing was wrong. Once she hit 2nd grade I watched her do homework and she started to mirror write all of her spelling words. She had no idea what she had done and insisted they were right. I sent the homework back to school like that and demanded a meeting with the teacher. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Acetaminophen Chromatography Introduction The purpose of this experiment is to analyze the following analgesics: acetaminophen, aspirin, caffeine, and ibuprofen. This analyzes is to be done using thin layer chromatography (TLC). Also, in this experiment we isolate β carotene from spinach using column chromatography (CC). Chromatography is a separation technique. It separates a mixture in one state of matter by moving it through another substance in another state of matter (Woodford, 2016). Chromatography consists of a compound that does not move in the entire experiment (stationary phase) and another compound that runs through the stationary phase (mobile phase). Thin layer chromatography uses a thin sheet of silica gel as the stationary phase. The chromatography plate is then to be placed vertically inside a chromatography chamber (Thin layer chromatography, NA). Column chromatography works very similar to TLC, but instead of using a thin layer of silica gel, in this case we fill a column with this gel (University of Toronto, NA). Finally, we are looking to calculate the value of Rf for every substance. Rf is defined as the distance travelled by the compound divided by the distance travelled by the solvent in the TLC experiment (Weldegirma, 2016). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 5. The Real Inspector Hound. Essay The Real Inspector Hound Contrasting settings, ideals and people dominate The Real Inspector Hound. Almost every character has an opposite, and is otherwise totally unique. Cynthia is opposite to Felicity, Simon is the contrast of Magnus, and so on. Tom Stoppard has included these contrasts for a variety of reasons and effects that combine to create the disturbing effect of the play incredibly effectively. But what individual effects do his characters create by opposing each other so accurately. At the start of the play, Stoppard deliberately confuses the audience with the opposing characters of Birdboot and Moon, at first; the audience is left to indulge in the view of moon and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Birdboot is a proletarian moron, just the sort of person they like to imagine when they think of a critic. Birdboot asks where Higgs is; moon instantly replies with a paragraph of life, the universe and everything, now the audience know that the two people are critics, and they also know Moon is the other type of critic, the sort who does waffle about the meaning of life and reality in his reviews. Ironically, despite these characters being totally obvious as opposites, as the audience have worked out from just a few lines of speech, Moon defines his opposite as Higgs, leaving Birdboot out of the question. The audiences now how some time to scoff at Stoppard s flimsy attempt to create realistic critics. This effect is just what Stoppard wanted from the opposing critics in the opening scene. The audiences is confused as to what is the play, and what is not, they are waiting for what they think is the play to start, they are become increasingly agitated and are passing the time scoffing about how truly terrible Stoppard s characters are, if Stoppard is lucky, they may also be beginning to look forward to a pantomime. These effects allow Stoppard to introduce the comical character of Mrs Drudge with far greater effect than would have been possible had Stoppard simply introduced her from the start. Stoppard even manages to increase this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Loss Of Spain Essay During the early 16th and later 17th centuries,Spain was going through a loss in power. Although they knew slavery was immoral and went against what they believed it, they were unsure how to solve the problem. The Founders came up with three main solutions; shipping the slaves back to Africa or the West Indies, gradually liberating the slaves, or postponing a solution and allowing the next generation to deal with finding one. With the first two possible solutions, the Founders came up with economic, political, and social consequences, which led them to choose the third. The Founders came to the conclusion that removing slavery would damage the country economically. One of the main solutions the Founders had to end slavery was to relocate them. Although these laws gave each person the right to attend a school of his or her choice, the creation of single sex schools brought a new definition to education. The single sex format creates opportunities that don t exist in the coed classroom (Sax 1/11). I would invite Jensen Ackles, Robin Williams, and Barack Obama to my dinner party because they re all very humorous and a great inspiration to me. It was a hard choice, but I chose these three people for many reasons. Jensen Ackles is my number one choice because he has been my biggest obsession for the past few years. He is an actor in the show Supernatural, where he plays a character named Dean. I have loved him for a long time not just for his looks, but also for his hilarious personality. He is also very sweet; right now he is raising money for a community support network called You are Not Alone. He would be a substantial person to meet and have dinner with. ... The behavior could be subjective to communication and exposure to individuals in networks who are involved in risky behaviors (Neaigus et al., 2006). Consumer Privacy Companies Woo Business Companies The article, found in The Wall Street Journal, Consumer Privacy Companies Woo Business Companies by Elizabeth Dwoskin, gives us a brief overlook at how more products are aiming toward the protection of consumers privacy. On March 2nd, Silent Circle announced the release of their Blackphone as an enterprise product. The Blackphone is an android phone announced last year that aims at giving its consumers total privacy. It accomplishes this by encrypting all data stored by voice or text message. Additionally calls and data are sent through virtual private networks not through the Internet. In doing so it grants ultimate protection for the user by insuring that no information can get hacked into because it has never been connected to the Internet. Although this product was already released last year, this year the company is pursuing businesses to use it as solely a company use phone. With about 40% of people using their personal phones for business, major companies are put at risk of losing significant information. Silent Circle s products are able to give ease to this possibility. Over recent years, consumers have been putting a greater emphasis on online privacy. An increasing amount of users are purchasing privacy protecting programs designed to protect personal information stored in computers. With recent hacks to major companies, businesses are also increasing their cyber security. Experts predict that the spending on cyber security product will increase to $83.2 ... • 33. Gardening And The Life Cycle Of A Plant I did my project with Taylor McNeil and we decided to focus our world on gardening. When we were assigned this project, we brainstormed some different ideas that our world could revolve around. The first idea that we had was the season of Fall. We thought that it would be a great idea to revolve our world around fall because it was the season that we are currently in but then we decided to do something different. Some of our other ideas included birthdays, recycling, and gardens. We then narrowed it down between two choices, gardening and recycling. Both of us are passionate about our environment and so these topics were extremely intriguing. We then decided that we were the most interested in gardening and selected it to be our world. Gardening is a pretty broad topic so we focussed more on the reason behind gardening and the life cycle of a plant. When looking at all the Common Core Standards there were many standards that could be incorporated into a lesson about gardening, so many that we chose six of them. The first one we chose was CCSS.ELA LITERACY.RL.2.1. In this standard, students would ask and answer questions demonstrating that they understand the text. A way to incorporate this into a classroom would be to ask students questions, about gardening and plants, before you read aloud a book about gardens to them. Instead of having the students answer the questions right away, have them think about these questions while you read aloud the book. After you finish reading ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Absolutism Under The Influence Of Samgha Although it may not seem evident initially, even the Chinese Buddhist Association and therefore the Chinese sangha ultimately remain under the control of the communist government. These goals ultimately help the government have a say in Buddhist affairs because the Chinese Buddhist Association cannot exist without the government in the first place. For example, the Chinese Buddhist Association and the samgha completed the socialization of monasteries under the name of promoting Buddhism (Welch 1961, 7). Under the Land Reform Act of 1960, monks and nuns received the same amount of land as farmers. After land distribution, the number of monks in the monasteries continues to decrease as many of them return to the laity (Welch 1961, 1). The samgha are made aware of the relationships in politics and religion. Since only one college controls the samgha teaching primarily, the process remains very standardized and differences get eliminated. This helps maintain legitimacy and power because one organization and its clergy makes the decisions rather than multiple organizations fighting over control (Yu 1971, 55). Thus, the hierarchy gets further simplified because the Chinese government simply answers to one organization, the Chinese Buddhist Association, rather than multiple organizations.
