Differences Between Narnia Book And Movie
The differences between book and movie, we think that the story of four children who go to live
with an older man (a professor) in order to get away from the air raids that are occurring at home
due to the war. The film begins with Lucy telling the others about Narnia and the wardrobe, and
the events in Narnia with Mr. Tumnus are shown as a flashback. In the book, these events are
shown before she tells everyone about them. The characters of Mrs. Macready, Father Christmas
and the Giant Rumblebuffin are cut. (Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy appear to enter the
wardrobe on their own, and Aslan gives them their gifts when they reach the Stone Table.
However, Father Christmas is mentioned, and the jingle bells of his sled are heard.) Maugrim s
name is changed to Fenris Ulf, like in the old American Version of the chronicles. While they are
staying with the professor, they find a wardrobe in an empty room that leads them to another
world called Narnia. The four children enter Narnia and free it from the spell that the white witch
has cast upon it and in the process they become kings and queens of Narnia. There are several
differences in the movie that are not present in the book, but they are very minor and do not change
the story. For instance, when the white... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both share the same plot, and there are very little differences between the two. These are a few
of the differences that I was able to notice between the book and the movie. There are several
others throughout the story, but they are all just as minute and in the end they have no effect on
the outcome of the story. Overall, I was very impressed with the movie and it was very true to
the book. I have seen my share of movies that were adaptations from books that did not do the
book justice, but this one is almost exactly like the book, so it was very

Contingency Planning And Its Effects On The Environment

Contingency Planning
The worldwide outage caused by the electromagnetic pulse due to the solar storm would affect most
of the operations that take place globally (Davis, 2003). Since internationalization entails
interdependence with other countries, it implies that the world will be at a standstill. The economic
processes, social and political activities will stagnate. However, suppose the world becomes aware
of the catastrophe, governments and different social institutions in various countries would employ
some contingencies that will enable them to continue thriving. Various changes will occur in the
social life, and most of them would be inclined to the downside. For instance, the health sector will
be at mess because most hospitals use power in the modern world, leading to the decline in the
health services. The education sector is also not an exception. The digitalization of learning
systems in the civilized society made learning easier. Since the systems use power, education will
also be altered. Thus, the outage will paralyze the learning activities globally. Davis (2003) argues
that the worldwide shortage of power will also cause unemployment to people who work in power
driven companies. Since they operate and rely on electricity and digitalized communication
systems, their production processes will stop, leading to their closure, and cause people to who
used to work there lose their jobs.
The deficiency in communication

Similarities Between The Matrix And My Father Began As A God
Society has a shared way of thinking on many issues and this can often be confronted by different
perspectives. The Wachoswki Brother s film The Matrix and Ian Mudie s poem My Father Began
As a God both convey the idea that altering points if view can be confronting resulting in new
knowledge and consequences for individuals. These concepts are explored in The Matrixthrough the
themes of gender expectations being challenged resulting in more gender equality. Mudie s poem
similarly expresses this concept through the theme of respect for elders as an issues in society
resulting in personal growth within an individual. Both text successfully depict the notion that
people s thinking can be altered by changed perspectives.
Changing perspectives can be challenging and trans formative for an individual. In The Matrix
gender expectations are defied through the character Trinity. The opening scene begins with
Trinity s action packed encounter with the police and agents. Dialogue such as I think we can
handle a little girl said by the police shows the audience the mindset around women portraying
them as weak. The audience is later confronted by Trinity s abilities used to fight the police. A
bird s eye view angle is used to emphasize power as one can see Trinity surrounded by defeated
police men. Trinity s androgynous appearance, short hair and tight ... Show more content on

The initial view point of the persona was that his Father began as God . As the person grew they
were exposed to new things that formed a new way of thinking. The diction used in the third

Repetition he shrank and shrank is used to highlight how the respect and importance of his father
diminished as he grew. Altogether it achieves the idea that changing an individual s perspective can

Edgar Allan Poe s The Black Cat
The Black Cat
I don t expect you to believe the story I am about to write. But in order to die peacefully, I must tell
my story.
My wife and I loved pets. One of my wife s favorite pets was Pluto, the cat. Pluto was a very clever
black cat.
One day I came home very drunk. I was in a very bad temper. For some reasons, Pluto made me
angry. In a rage I seized the cat, took a small knife out of my pocket and cut its throat and took one
of its eyes out ! Then I hanged the poor creature until it was dead
The next morning, I wake up and remembered what I had done and I felt sorry very much. I buried
my memory in the drink.
One night my house was burning. There was nothing left, but a strange thing happened. I found out

Essay about American Foreign Policy in South Korea
Plan of Investigation
This investigation explores the question To what extent did the American foreign policy in
southern Korea before the outbreak of the Korean War contribute to North Korea s decision to
invade the South? To assess the degree of success to which the policy affected the communists
decision to invade the South, various U.S. documents, especially the official U.S. government
policy documents on Korea, will be evaluated for their effectiveness, as well as role of their role in
Korea. This investigation will not only examine the extent to which the policies contributed to the
invasion, but also consider the role of internal problems of the South and the military strengths of
the North. This investigation will span the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although the intent was to keep the armed forces of South Korea well trained against a possible
war, poor U.S. military aid and use of U.S. advisors were not enough to keep its forces and
eventually, they were under trained and under supported (Cumings 6). In the National Security
Council report of 2 April 1948, The Position of the U.S. with Respect to Korea, American
government extended the aid, training, and equipping the Korean armed forces only with an intent
to keep its forces capable of protecting the security of South Korea against any but an overt act of
aggression by North Korean or other forces (Tucker 808). The Truman administration at the time
believed that the South Korean President Syngman Rhee, who was known for constantly
threatening the U.S. with bukgin slogans (march north), might use the heavy weapons to unify
Korea by force, creating tensions between neighboring nations such as the USSR. This led
American government decision to keep South Korea in check by keeping its military capability as
minimal as possible (Leckie 36). By early 1950, the army of South Korea numbered only 60,000
with actual combat capabilities out

What Is The Theme Of The Green Mile By Stephen King
We often tend to only read stories that appeal to our interests. I never would have thought I would
enjoy a book written by Stephen King. His unique writing style makes stories we would usually
find gruesome and disturbing, to be interesting. In his novel, The Green Mile, King uses
flashbacks, supernatural powers, good versus evil and other important literary devices to draw the
reader s attention. This story is centered around a death rowsupervisor, Paul Edgecomb, and his
experiences throughout his career, especially his encounter with an unusual inmate, John Coffey.
King s description of the experiences inside Cold Mountain Penitentiary Block E are written in such
a way that makes the audience sense the emotions of the characters. This story is a very powerful,
emotional, anguish, and highly enjoyable read. Stephen Kingis often known for his horror theme in
his novels. In his book, The Green Mile, the theme is centered around death. This story is told in
first person narrative by Paul Edgecomb. It switches from Paul as on old man in the nursing home,
to his time as death row supervisor in the 1930s. Edgecomb tells his experience while he worked at
Cold Mountain and the effects it had on him throughout his life. He specifically tells about his
encounter with a large, black, unusual inmate, John Coffey. Coffey has been sentenced to death for
a crime that he did not commit. The young Detterick twin girls went missing and when they were

Banishment In The Knight s Tale
The Knight s Tale is a section of the famous Canterbury Tales written by Geoffrey Chaucer. The
Knight s Tale starts out with the description of the king of Athens and former Minotaur slayer,
Theseus. Now, Theseus was a man of great respect, and he helped whomever he could, including
comforting women at the beginning of the story who were weeping over the loss of their
children to the Minotaur years ago. He was also described as having a great prison, where he
help two former princes Palamon and Arcite. These prisoners also happened to be cousins. One
day, while looking out the prison window Palamon saw the most beautiful woman he had ever
seen, and it made him give a scream of joy, for he was in love. Arcite, who had been sleeping at
the time buzzed to life and the noise and joined Palamon to see what he was looking at. When he

Acute Respiratory Acidosis And Chronic Respirtory Acidosis
Respiratory Acidosis, or respiratory failure, makes the blood pH and other fluids in the body
decrease, which makes them acidic. Respiratory acidosis can occur when the lungs cannot remove
the right amount of carbon dioxide from the body. Too much CO2 can make the blood too acidic.
This is from the body needing to balance the ions that help control pH. Normally, lungs take in
oxygen and remove by exhaling, CO2. Oxygen passes from the lungs into the blood, and CO2
passes from the blood into the lungs. However, if the lungs can not remove the right amount of
CO2, respiratory acidosis can occur. There are two kinds of Respiratory acidosis: Acute
respiratory acidosis and chronic respirtory acidosis. Acute acidosis happens quickly and is an
emergency. Chronic acidosis usually develops over a period of time. The normal range of pH is
supposed to be 7.4 and PaCO2 at 40 mmHg. Acidosis happens when the pH drops below 7.35
and a primary respiratory problem is determined if the PaCO2 is greater than 45 mmHg. Some of
the following are causes for chronic respiratory acidosis: COPD, asthma, neuromuscular diseases,
and obesity that is very severe. Acute respiratory acidosis is usually caused by obstructed air ways,
such as choking, over dose of sedatives, or cardiac arrest. The compensatory mechanism for acute
respiratory acidosis is intracellular buffering (hemoglobin, intracellular proteins). Cell buffering will
occur within minutes after the onset of acute respiratory

To Kill A Mockingbird Society Analysis
In the novel To Kill A Mockingbird, Harper Lee uses Jem, Scout, and Dill to help the reader view
certain aspects of society in a different way by using social class, being a woman, and racism.
Children are more open minded than adults, so they view the world in a distinct way compared
to them. Most of society is stuck in their ways and are only able to see the world in one
perspective, while the kids are are trying to develop their own view of the world . The kids morals
are unlike many people s in the town, so this gives the reader a different perspective of Maycomb
/society.
For instance, one way that Jem helps the reader see a new aspect of society that would not

One person who has a very different opinion from Scout s is aunt Alexandra, who says a woman
should be prim and proper. In the text it says I could not possibly hope to be a lady if I wore
breeches; when I said I could do nothing in a dress, she said I wasn t supposed to be doing
things that required pants. (262) Scout is so used to her tomboyish ways of dressing/acting that
it is very foreign to her when she has to act like Alexandra s vision of a lady. Aunt Alexandra was
always persistent about Scout being a certain type of lady with a bunch of strict rules, but Scout
was not going down without a fight. Also when Jem says, You know she s not used to girls, said
Jem, leastways, not girls like you. She s trying to make you a lady. Can t you take up sewin or
somethin ? (232) This hits Scout harder than when Alexander tells her to be a lady because
Scout had always been Jem s little sidekick. The kids were close, but when he pushed her away
like this it hurt Scout emotionally. Being called a girl was considered an insult, but now that s
what Jem wants Scout to be now. Finally Scout learns that sometimes it is commendable to be a
lady, such as when her father told her and the other women that Tom had died. Scout pulled it
together like the rest of the women and made it so that no one in the missionary society ever knew
anything was ever wrong. Jem still

Advantages Of The Battle Of Agincourt
French Drawbacks The Battle of Agincourt could have, and should have, been an easy victory for
the French. They outnumbered their opponent with fresh troops and fought on their own turf. All
signs pointed to victory. However, this caused them to become overconfident, which led to hasty
decisions as well as the neglect to consider terrain and prior encounters with palings. Intelligence
Assets Spies have always been a part of warfare in one form or another. Christine de Pisan s book
The Book of Deeds of Arms and of Chivalry (as cited in Arthurson, 2013) suggested that one

purpose of his enemyes (p. 136). With the threat of imminent battle looming, scouts, riders, and
runners would provide intelligence on the status of enemy formations and their disposition. Both
the English and French used scouts as Henry s army marched toward Calais. In one instance,
English scouts found six thousand French guarding a river crossing that forced them to find
another route. Similarly, the French tracked the progress of Henry s army to block his advance as
they amassed troops. From their scouts, the French also learned that the English were few, short on
supplies, and weary from the march and illness. Such an easy target excited the French, who rushed
ahead to intercept Henry and his forces before they could escape. Additionally, this attracted many
French nobles, eager to take part in the

The Mediating Roles Of Psychological Contract Fulfillment
Hypothesis For this study the authors gave five hypotheses. These hypotheses were related to the
mediating roles of psychological contract fulfillment, need for change and trust. Trust being the
only one included in three of the hypotheses. For hypothesis 1 the authors hypothesized that
psychological contract fulfillment moderates the relationship of attitude toward change and change
information, therefore change information is positively correlated to psychological contract
fulfillment. Furthermore psychological contract fulfillment would be positively correlated to
behavioral, affective, and cognitive dimensions of attitude toward change. For hypothesis2 it was
hypothesized by the authors that perceived need for change influences the relationship between
change information and attitude toward change showing that change information and perceived
need for change are positively correlated. Also that perceived need for change is positively
correlated to the behavioral, affective, and cognitive dimensionof attitude toward change. For
hypothesis 3a, it was hypothesized that trust moderates the relationship between attitude toward
change and change information, therefore there s a positive correlation between trust and change
information, and trust and the affective, behavioral, and cognitive dimension of attitude toward
change. Furthermore, for hypothesis 3b, the authors hypothesized that trust affected psychological
contract fulfillment in a positive way. Lastly, for

The Ideal Woman In Pretty Woman
Today, modern movies often portray women as strong, courageous feminists or even the heroine
that will eventually help save her people. However, Pretty Woman focuses on how women are
viewed as objects in a world dominated by powerful men. The protagonist is viewed as an outcast
in society, because she is not rich and poised and because she is a prostitute, until she becomes the
epitome of society s ideal womanrich, beautiful, and well maintenance, through the helpof a well
respected businessman, in which she is then embraced by those in the high class society.
However, the protagonist refuses to let society s standards change her dreams and the way she
views herself. By depicting that the ideal woman is someone who has to rely on men for help and
has to have elegance and affluence in order to be well respected or successful in society, Pretty
Woman emphasizes that women are only viewed as objects in a dominant male society. Even

Descriptive Essay On Having A Dog
Dogs become vital to you, they are something you wouldn t ever give up. My dog, Carly has

kind, positive, selfless human being. Yes, having a dog may be challenging, stressful work, but in
the end, it s all worth it. Ever since I was a little girl I have always wanted a dog. When I was about
three, my cousins unexpectedly lost their chocolate lab, Bailey. I don t remember Bailey, but I do

Tess, it sparked something inside me and from that point on, I had a desire to one day have my

left with disappointment. Nevertheless, my parents were warming up to the idea of having a
dog, evaluating different breeds to try and find a fit for our family. Eventually, my parents took us
to look at dogs, but none of them seemed to suit our needs. It was late afternoon on an enjoyable,
mild June day at the baseball field. As we commenced our journey home I realized we were headed
in the wrong direction.
Where are we going? I asked, looking at my parents in confusion.
We are going to look at some puppies, Mom explained excitedly.

Travel To The Bahamas Essay
The Commonwealth of the Bahamas is a country known for its crystal blue waters and beaches
that make a sun worshiper believe they have died and gone on to another world, a better world.
In addition to these deep blue waters and sandy white beaches, the Bahamas is also home to some
wonderful authors and writers, including a homegrown writer Dave Gayle, life coach Denika
Carothers, short story writer Shawn T. Gardiner, meteorologist Wayne Neely, Bahamian born
published writer Alison Albury, romantic author Wendy Coakley Thompson, and well known actor
and author Sydney Poitier, these are just a few of the authors and writers, and if you happen to
visit take a stop by the Salt Cay Writers Retreat. If you travel to the Bahamasyou might want to
pick up a book from one of these Bahamians to read while sitting on one of the beautiful beaches.

Essay On Agrammatic Aphasia
As some of the adjectives overlap with verbs and some of them with nouns, and also due to
psycholinguistic and linguistic attributes of adjectives, in agrammatism for testing theories of word
class production deficits, analysis of the production of adjectives is important.
But the problem is that the use of adjectives in agrammatic aphasia, In contrast to nouns and verbs
is not systematically studied. In agrammatic aphasia this issue that how production and processing
of different grammatical categories are affected is examined through many research. The most
important results is that where main verbs are often omitted, difficulty with verb as compared to

Military Leadership Analysis
Managing a group is simply a matter of holding a position of authority and executing inherent

The Gods of the Norse
The people of Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland and the Faroe Islands are the Norse (people of
the north) or as they are known today, the Scandinavians. Norse religion and mythology began to
take place in the Bronze Age (A.D. 780 1070) and are the collected stories of the ancient religion
of the people from Scandinavia (Daly x). Daly states that Norse mythology did not start in the
Scandinavian area of Europe. Norse mythology originated, according to experts, in Asia, was
modified in the European Mediterranean lands and eventually was carried north and west by
migrating Teutonic tribes, in the third to sixth centuries A.D. during the break up of the Roman
Empire. (Daly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(D aulaires 12). Only Niflheim (a waste of frozen fog) and Muspelheim (a place of raging
flames) existed. Between Niflheim and Muspelheim there was a gaping pit called Ginnungagap.
As embers and ice whirled around the dark, dismal pit they began to whirl faster and faster until
fire created a spark of life within the ice. The frost giant, Ymir, a jotun, and an ice cow emerged
from the pit. Ymir fell into a deep sleep. While he slept a male and female jotun formed from the
warmth of his left armpit and a six headed troll grew from his feet. The ice cow also brought life
to this world. As she licked and licked the saltiness of Ginnungagap a head of hair and then a
whole body appeared from under her tongue. Next, a handsome man and his son appeared. The son,
Borr, married a jotun maiden, Bestla. Together they had three sons who were so fair that they lit up
the darkness around them. These three sons Odin, Hoenir and Lodur were the first of the Aesir
gods. They had the power to create a world. To do this the brothers had to kill Ymir first.
Successfully, the brothers killed Ymir and pushed his body into Ginnungagap. Brine flowed from
his wounds and flooded over the rim, creating the sea and killing his offspring and the cow. The
brothers then took Ymir s body out of the sea and began to make the earth out of his body. The

Hse, Risk Assessment
1.Introduction:
A Health and Safety risk assessment is a planned process in which all hazards in the workplace
are identified and their risk prospective evaluated. The risk possible is a mixture of the likelihood
when could an accident happen with the severity what could result if an accident did happen. Once
the risk potential has been identified, it will allow you to decide whether you have taken adequate
(reasonable practicable) precaution or whether you need to do more to prevent harm. (Boyle, Tony
(2008) Health and Safety: Risk Management,)
Risk assessment is an integral part of any Health and Safety management system. Conducting risk

Hazard identification does not end with the initial investigation. Hazard identification should be
regarded as an ongoing process. In general, the legal requirement is for hazard recognition to be
undertaken; before and during the introduction of new work systems, plant and chemicals to the
workplace; any alteration or change in the work place and where new information on hazards or
control measures becomes available.
A risk management matrix is a tool that can be used to assess a risk by evaluating a hazard s
likelihood of occurring and its potential consequences. This will assist in identifying and prioritize
hazards and implementation of controls.
When conducting a risk assessment the employer must consider the employees under his control
and the general public which his business could affect (OSH Act part II; sec. 6, 7, 8, 9, 10). An
important issue to consider is the people who will be exposed to risks from hazards, and how any
individual characteristics may impact on exposure. Gathering this information at the hazard
identification stage will assist with the risk assessment efforts. In most cases, those affected will be
the people involved in the tasks. During hazard identification people issues such as any special
characteristics which should be taken into account for example, inexperience, age, gender, chemical
susceptibility and ergonomic issues. Consideration must be given to persons not involved in the

The Existence Of Services For Students With Milder Levels...
1.The existence of services for students with milder levels of impairment is a relatively recent
occurrence. Why do you think this is so? The right of entry to education resources is more than
uncomplicated admission to a college. The right to use means to provide students with the
devices they will need to be victorious in higher learning. Students with a recognized disability
ought to be no omission. In reality, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the
Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, ensure that all qualified persons have equal access to
education regardless of the presence of any disability. Objective replacement, class waivers, and
revision of classroom management, testing and course necessities are all illustrations of
behavior to supply access for the learner with a disability. A break down to the creation of such
practical adjustments can place schools in breach of federal and state statutes, ensuing expensive
fines. 2.(a) Define the terms disability and handicap. (b) How do these two terms differ? Why is
that difference important to you as a future teacher? A disability is the source of a handicap. In
support of this, case in point, the condition of a person s disability that they have put a stop to
them from being able to move about their legs, it may consequence handicap their driving abilities.
A disabled person does not have to be handicapped, especially if they can uncover a method around
their disability. In favor of this example,

The word courage is a prime example of the Mirabal sisters. Each of the Mirabal sisters show their
courage in different ways because some of the sisters are more courageous than the others in
certain situations. Although Minerva is more assertive and brave the other girls can get just as
assertive and brave as Minerva. I think that the Mirabal sisters are very courageous but sometimes
their decisions are crazy and it can cost them a lot of pain and suffering. Each sister is very
courageous and show it in the book in many ways but Minerva is the most assertive and
courageous of the Mirabal sisters. One example from the sisters of being courageous but it was
crazy when Minerva slapped Trujillo at the party. On page 100 Minerva says, He yanks me by

Theme Of Mood In The Outsiders
Tall elm trees made the park shadowy and dark, and it would have been a good hangout, but we
preferred our vacant lot (Hinton, 47) What will happen next? In The Outsiders, S.E. Hinton uses
profound description of the setting to establish mood in the text. In a novel such as The Outsiders,
it is of major importance that the author establishes setting and mood for the novels plot to develop.
This is where ambience marries mood in a story.
In any novel, the author uses the element of setting in order to establish a connection between the
reader and the text. Hinton uses: When I stepped out into the bright sunlight from the darkness of
the movie house, I had only two things on my mind: Paul Newman and a ride home. (Hinton, 3) as

Nobody was around at two thirty in the morning, and it was a good place to relax and cool off. I
couldn t have gotten much cooler without turning into a popsicle. (Hinton, 47) Ponyboy and
Johnny rendezvous at the local park at two thirty in the morning. Just by looking at the time frame
in which they decide to meet up, the reader automatically begins to draw conclusions about what
could happen. Time is a major key to set mood intensity in a text. For example, events set at
midnight create depth and tension. On the contrary, events set at ten a.m. on a Sunday morning
create a sense contentment and peace of mind. Could this be the reason why Hinton s chapter
four takes place at night in a lonesome park? What can readers predict? Will there be any sudden
deaths or will the boys in this scene spend the night smoking in the park? Hinton uses the element
of surprise along with foreshadowing to attract readers even more. In The Outsiders, S.E. Hinton
emphasizes on the weather description to lead the readers to foreshadow approaching events. Ain
t you about to freeze to death, Pony? (Hinton, 47) It was a frigid fall night, the boys were desolate
in the local park. Once an author establishes coldness and loneliness, the mood drops to death.
According to literary symbolism, in winter, death roams the land, the literary use for the season is
generally based on death and deterioration.

Analysis Of The Text Lady Audley s Secret
Explication Essay
In the text Lady Audley s secret (1862) , written by M. E. Braddon, there are many literary devices
that came together to create a unique experience for the reader. The sentences in this text are
purposely disconnected into eight lines. When reading a text that has sentences that are connected
and flow fluently, it can be heard to determine key ideas. The text breaks up sentences so that key
ideas are easily highlighted and specific words are emphasized. Within the eight lines, the author
uses a unique sequence of events. The author begins the text by mentioning Talboys, and what he
had done to Lady Audley. However, the author refrains from immediately saying who Talboys was
in relation to her. Next the author explained, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this line of the text the author also uses the word thud . The word thud is an onomatopoeia,
meaning it is spelled the way it sounds as its action is taking place. This enhanced the ability to
imagine the sound of the fall. Another instance where imagery is used is when the author uses
detailed adjectives to illustrate the size and appearance of the well.
Throughout the text the author uses the mouth of the well and the cry of Talboys as defining
aspects of his death. Both are presented in multiple places in the text. Braddon used the mouth of
the well in the fifth line when Audley initially attacked Talboys and in the eighth line when Talboys
was confirmed to be dead. The cry of Talboys was used in the fifth and the seventh lines of the text.
Both the mouth of the well and the cry mark the beginning of Talboys attack and the confirmation
of his death. The one cry by Talboys also confirmed that his death happened instantly.
Characterization plays a major role in the impact of the text. The main character Audley is depicted
as an evil woman who killed her first husband without remorse and who threatens her new husband.
Audley threatens her husband by explaining to him what she has done to ex husband, who
happened the treated her as he is now treating her. In other words she implied that he can possibly
end up like her ex husband, if he does not change the way he

Uncle Wiggily In Connecticut Summary
In the Uncle Wiggily in Connecticut short story, J.D. Salinger, draws a women living a meager life
in despite of her wealth, and the unhappiness of not being a mother even though she has a daughter.
Although this woman demonstrates an icy and bitter relationship to everything around her,

Before coming to the very ending it is important to elaborate on some important points acting as
foundation for the optimist interpretation of Eloise s last words. Otherwise it could be interpret
either way.
The story develops two old college friends gathering for a chat, in a week afternoon, talking for
hours straight. During this period there is abusive alcohol consumption, a robust evidence of
personal problems. The conversation evolves around gossip and complains. It is Eloise, the
protagonist, who complains the most throughout the whole story, and about every aspect of her
current life. Including her own daughter, which until that moment she barely considers as her
descendent: I need a cocker spaniel or something (24). Even though the text only brings up the
distinct appearances between them, Eloise believes Ramona is so far apart from her that anything
would be closer to her even a dog.

who seems to take care of Ramona most of the time, there is robust disappointment with the life

Principle Summary Of A Psychodynamic Approach
Principle Summary
The principle of order explains that if there is an action then there will either be a reaction or
consequence based on the results that we are expecting. In order to get effective outcomes when
working with families, children, and individuals I would have to consistently seek information to
ensure that I was giving them correct strategies and techniques to improve their family structure.
The principle of empathy expresses the need to understand certain situations form other s
perspectives in order to understand their reactions, emotions, and behaviors. This act will ensure
that I am actually understanding the reason behind the behavior based on the client/person instead of
in my own opinion.
The principle of agency refers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The importance of taking different situations into context as a professional yet being open to
change as an individual is very refreshing because that shows that professionals are human as
well. Working with cases that are difficult to hear are more likely to be the most difficult times as
a FLE worker because I think the division between being professional and personal can be invisible
at times. If these principles are present in my field of work then this can help to make sure that I take
these things into context before attempting to help others.
Personal Biases
Personal biases that I am aware that I have are towards are towards privileges of others of
different races. This is a big hindrance for me because I understand that many people don t get the
opportunity to live up to their expectations but I still refer to facts about the rewards and lack of
punishment that are given to them. The most challenging individuals for me to work with would be
sex offenders. In my opinion they can be rehabilitated but the act in general would make it difficult
for me to effectively discuss their issues and the reasoning behind meeting with them.

In the matter of Sydney Project Group Pty Ltd (Administrators Appointed) (Receivers and
Managers Appointed) and S.E.T. Services Pty Ltd (Administrators Appointed) (Receivers and
Managers Appointed) [2017] NSWSC 881 (30 June 2017) ( SPG and SET ) concerns the events
involving plaintiffs Michael Hogan (H) and Christian Sprowles (S). Salim Mehajer (M) is the sole
shareholder of both Sydney Project Group Pty Ltd (SPG) and S.E.T. Services Pty Ltd (SET). M
appointed Kenneth Lee (L) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These events prompted the plaintiffs to initiate the present proceedings on 20 June 2017.
2.Director Removal
It is necessary to determine when L was removed as director of SPG and SET to ascertain the
validity of the plaintiffs appointment as administrators. To establish L s time of removal, one must
first conclude whether the decision at the meeting took effect immediately, or if the subsequent
messages exchanged between M and L, and belated lodging with ASIC, suggest a later removal
date.
Shareholders Meeting
The replaceable rule in s 203C provides that, in a proprietary company, a director may be
removed and another appointed at the same general meeting by resolution. In this event, there are
no specific notice requirements for the removal. However, as SPG and SET are sole shareholder
companies, it is necessary to use s 249B, which outlines the proceedings for resolutions of one
member companies. This section states that, when a company only has one shareholder, an
ordinary resolution may be passed if the appropriate documentation is recorded and signed, and
subsequently lodged with ASIC if necessary.
In the present case, these requirements were clearly satisfied for the removal of L, and subsequent
replacement by KM. This is displayed in the minutes recorded for the meeting and the signing of the
document by M and KM with relevant witnesses present. Moreover, the minutes were clear that the

Working My Pro Shop Assistant Job At Chisago Lakes Golf...
QUESTION Describe a time on any job that you held I which you were faced with problems or
stresses that tested your coping skills?
ANSWER A time I faced a problem with stress was when I was working my pro shop assistant job
at Chisago Lakes Golf Course. I was eighteen years old and helping my boss run a big tournament,
getting stuff ready for the tournament the day before. The morning of the tournament he hurt his
back. He came into work and could not function as well as he needed to run the tournament. I was
his right hand man that summer helping with every day things, so he put me in charge of the
tournament and running the staff to help with the tournament. So, I came into work thinking it was

and do it.
QUESTION Tell me about a time when you had to go above and beyond the call of duty in order to
get a job done?
ANSWER A time I went above and beyond the call of duty to get a job done, would be when I
worked as a pro shop assistant at Chisago Lakes Golf Course. I was working the afternoon to close
shift on a Saturday night. I had made plans with my friends to hangout after my shift had ended. I
was just about to close up the shop when I had a customer call the course. He said that he had a
grip, but on his golf club by one of our staff members and he did not put it on to the pleasure that
the customer had wanted it. The customer planned on playing the next morning. I asked the
customer if he would be able to come in that night so I could get it done how he liked it before
his round in the morning. He came in that night and I regripped the club and he was grateful that I
did that, when I could have just ignored the phone and closed the shop to hang out with my
friends. After he left the shop, long after I should have been done with my shift, I wrote down his
number. The next day I was working the same afternoon to close shift. I called him later in the

The Importance Of The Clunkers Program
First off I will start off by saying that every car is different. The most important step is safety. Make
sure you have the tools you need close by. The car needs to be on a flat or level surface. Only work
on one wheel at a time. If you are working on the front wheel brakes, chock the back wheels behind
the car. If you are going to be working on the back brakes, chock the front wheels in front of the car.
Once you have secured the vehiclein park or locked in gear, loosen the lug nuts on the tire you are
going to be working on. Do not take them all the way off yet, only break them loose. Now you are
ready to jack the car up. Most new vehicles have a lip or pad designed for this use. If you do not
see one, try to find a place on the frame... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If you are patient and have basic knowledge of tools, you can replace a car window thus saving
money on window repair. Replacing a car window is not a difficult task, but simply one with
many small steps. Many of these are listed in the vehicle repair guides you can find at the local
auto parts store. Here are the steps on how to change a car window. Gather your supplies and
tools. Put everything near the car so items are within easy reach of the project. Make sure there
is no debris or other unneeded items around where you are working. Place the tarp on the outside
of the window or the ground along the exterior of the door. This will help catch any debris which
falls outside of the car. Place the new glass on the tarp in an area which will be out of the way of
your work. Open the door of the window you are working with unless the window is in a sliding
door which must be closed to proceed. If the window isn t in a door, skip to the next step. Using
a screwdriver, remove the screws around the inside panel under the window you are working
with. Put the screws in a container for easy keeping. For electronic windows, the screws
underneath the inside door handle must also be removed. Then pop off the top of the door handle
to locate the wiring by wedging a flathead screwdriver under the handle and pushing the handle
away from the door. Unscrew the screws holding the wiring inside the door handle and

Galileo s Creation In Condition Essay
I do not feel obligated to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason and
intellect has intended us to Fargo is use by Galileo Galilei. One of the main reasons, that the
scientific revolution started was because of the Renaissances was beginning and everyone was
starting to think for themselves and Galileo was one of the leaders that caused the Scientific
revolutionor at least spread it. One major thing that leads to these scientific discoveries they were
stuck in religion and they said that God made it like that and he wanted it so and it s not for us to
question it. That was the mentality of those people and maybe also ignorance that is why Galileo
said that God gave us the wisdom so we could interpret God s creation... Show more content on

Oozing Hegemonic Masculinity in the Super Bowl Commercials
Many of us watch the Super Bowl to check out what we expect to be the most innovative and
entertaining commercials of the year. Given the grand stage on which these commercials air, it is
important that we analyze them in their proper context. Remember, this is a sporting event, one in
which only men are allowed to participate (as athletes/coaches), where violent collisions are
celebrated, and where most of the audience is male. Considering these gendered parameters, we
should not be surprised that many of the 2012 Super Bowl commercials ooze hegemonic
masculinity. In this post David Mayeda explores how a masculinity can be used to opress men and
women alike.
Back in 1987, Raewyn Connell coined the term hegemonic masculinity in a seminal text, Gender
Power. Hegemonic masculinity refers to the dominant form of masculinity that exists within a
particular culture. Relative to this ever changing, idealized form of masculinity are different
subordinated masculinities those within a culture that do not live up to the so called masculine
gold standard. Put simply, there are real men and then there are all other men.
In watching the 2012 Super Bowl commercials, we can see versions of hegemonic masculinity
demonstrated. Perhaps the most vivid version was seen in H M s Super Bowl ad, utilizing soccer
(futbol) star, David Beckham:
Tattooed, rugged, athletic, showcasing a lean musculature and menacing glare, Beckham embodies
a hegemonic masculinity that would surely resonate

Corporate Social Responsibility Audit On The Nasdaq Stock...
The publicly traded company I chose to perform a corporate social responsibility audit on is a
company that produces PCs, software, and other services Microsoft, also known as MSFT on the
NASDAQ stock exchange. Microsoft started small, with Bill Gates and Paul Allen as the founders.
While Microsoft started off in Albuquerque, the men later moved the company; Microsofts
headquarters is now located in Redmond, Va., on a road named after the company, Microsoft Way.
Microsoft is defined as a multinational company, this means that Microsoft carries out business in
more than two countries, in fact, Microsoft has offices in over 200 countries. A typical user would

One of the four corporate social responsibilities that Microsoft has to keep in balance with the
others is maximizing profits for shareholders. Microsoft does this by constantly improving their
products, which in turn raises the price of that stock; a rise in stock price is beneficial to
stockholders. Microsoft improves their products often, they typically come out with a new version
of Windows office every couple years, as is the same with Microsoft Windowsoperating system.
Another way Microsoft keeps its shareholders happy is by continually paying out more and more
money through dividends in November of every year. While Microsoft treats their shareholders
very well in terms of dividend payments, their generosity doesn t end there. Microsoft has a
program where they buy back shares from their shareholders. Essentially, they are giving their
shareholders cash for a piece of the company that has an outstanding balance. Just how much
money has Microsoft paid out to their shareholders for these outstanding shares? A large $73
billion since 2010. This is a great way to keep the company s shareholders happy, by ensuring the
shareholders do not suffer a loss if the price of the stock plummets. When Microsoft is decreasing
the number of shares, their shareholders are gaining from this once again; when Microsoft s
income increases, so does the pockets of the shareholders, because they will be getting even more
profit. Personally, I think Microsoft is doing an

Bhagavad Gita The Holy Book Of Hindus
Bhagavad gita the holy book of hindus, is one of the major literature work from India to the entire
mankind. Gita can be read by the people of all religions. It was narrated by Lord Krishna to prince
Arjuna in Mahabharatha. The narration happens in the battlefield of kurukshethra. Arjuna was to
fight against his cousins kauravas in the war, which he was not able to do because of family
bonding, this is when Krishnaexplains him the purpose of life and the way to attain eternity. In
bhagavad gitaKrishna explains how the entire cycle of life works and what a person should do to
attain eternity. Though the gita was narrated 5000 years ago, it is still relevant to the modern age
life of mankind and guides us to eternity, this is explained in this thesis statement. Gita on Family
bonding:
In the first chapter of gita when Arjuna hesitates to fight against his cousins, Krishna explains him
about the family bonding. He says that only when a person comes out of the family bonding and
does his duty properly he will be able to attain eternity. He explains the aim of Arjuna s birth.
Arjuna was born to fight this battle and destroy the evil. He has to see the evil in the kauravas,
instead of seeing them as his cousin brothers. Only then he can fight the evil and destroy it.
Krishna clearly explains why family bonding should not be a hurdle in doing ones duties. This is
true in this current age of mankind also. Though we don t have situations to fight war against our
family members,

After a long and confusing day, we headed back to the house and thought about all the adventures

Ernie took us to almost every place in town. The first spot we went to was the local grocery store

looked like a shopping mall on Black Friday. I saw many bizarre foods that I had never seen at
home before. We also went to an elementary school, which was very different than any school I
had seen at home. Almost all of it was outside and all of the classrooms were disconnected from
each other. It was really interesting to see something so different. Later that night, we went to

when my sister and I were on them. They were giving away many strange things as prizes,
including pet chickens and alcohol to anyone who wanted it. A 12 year old boy won a beer at
one of the games and gave it to my dad. Even though it was different than any other fair I had

  • 2. Differences Between Narnia Book And Movie The differences between book and movie, we think that the story of four children who go to live with an older man (a professor) in order to get away from the air raids that are occurring at home due to the war. The film begins with Lucy telling the others about Narnia and the wardrobe, and the events in Narnia with Mr. Tumnus are shown as a flashback. In the book, these events are shown before she tells everyone about them. The characters of Mrs. Macready, Father Christmas and the Giant Rumblebuffin are cut. (Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy appear to enter the wardrobe on their own, and Aslan gives them their gifts when they reach the Stone Table. However, Father Christmas is mentioned, and the jingle bells of his sled are heard.) Maugrim s name is changed to Fenris Ulf, like in the old American Version of the chronicles. While they are staying with the professor, they find a wardrobe in an empty room that leads them to another world called Narnia. The four children enter Narnia and free it from the spell that the white witch has cast upon it and in the process they become kings and queens of Narnia. There are several differences in the movie that are not present in the book, but they are very minor and do not change the story. For instance, when the white... These are a few of the differences that I was able to notice between the book and the movie. There are several others throughout the story, but they are all just as minute and in the end they have no effect on the outcome of the story. Overall, I was very impressed with the movie and it was very true to the book. I have seen my share of movies that were adaptations from books that did not do the book justice, but this one is almost exactly like the book, so it was very ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Contingency Planning And Its Effects On The Environment Koslo Ford Contingency Planning 4 17 16 Contingency Planning The worldwide outage caused by the electromagnetic pulse due to the solar storm would affect most of the operations that take place globally (Davis, 2003). Since internationalization entails interdependence with other countries, it implies that the world will be at a standstill. The economic processes, social and political activities will stagnate. However, suppose the world becomes aware of the catastrophe, governments and different social institutions in various countries would employ some contingencies that will enable them to continue thriving. Various changes will occur in the social life, and most of them would be inclined to the downside. For instance, the health sector will be at mess because most hospitals use power in the modern world, leading to the decline in the health services. The education sector is also not an exception. The digitalization of learning systems in the civilized society made learning easier. Since the systems use power, education will also be altered. Thus, the outage will paralyze the learning activities globally. Davis (2003) argues that the worldwide shortage of power will also cause unemployment to people who work in power driven companies. Since they operate and rely on electricity and digitalized communication systems, their production processes will stop, leading to their closure, and cause people to who used to work there lose their jobs. The deficiency in communication ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These concepts are explored in The Matrixthrough the themes of gender expectations being challenged resulting in more gender equality. Mudie s poem similarly expresses this concept through the theme of respect for elders as an issues in society resulting in personal growth within an individual. Both text successfully depict the notion that people s thinking can be altered by changed perspectives. Changing perspectives can be challenging and trans formative for an individual. In The Matrix gender expectations are defied through the character Trinity. The opening scene begins with Trinity s action packed encounter with the police and agents. Dialogue such as I think we can handle a little girl said by the police shows the audience the mindset around women portraying them as weak. The audience is later confronted by Trinity s abilities used to fight the police. A bird s eye view angle is used to emphasize power as one can see Trinity surrounded by defeated police men. Although the intent was to keep the armed forces of South Korea well trained against a possible war, poor U.S. military aid and use of U.S. advisors were not enough to keep its forces and eventually, they were under trained and under supported (Cumings 6). • 12. Acute Respiratory Acidosis And Chronic Respirtory Acidosis Respiratory Acidosis, or respiratory failure, makes the blood pH and other fluids in the body decrease, which makes them acidic. Respiratory acidosis can occur when the lungs cannot remove the right amount of carbon dioxide from the body. Too much CO2 can make the blood too acidic. This is from the body needing to balance the ions that help control pH. Normally, lungs take in oxygen and remove by exhaling, CO2. Oxygen passes from the lungs into the blood, and CO2 passes from the blood into the lungs. However, if the lungs can not remove the right amount of CO2, respiratory acidosis can occur. There are two kinds of Respiratory acidosis: Acute respiratory acidosis and chronic respirtory acidosis. Acute acidosis happens quickly and is an emergency. Chronic acidosis usually develops over a period of time. The normal range of pH is supposed to be 7.4 and PaCO2 at 40 mmHg. Acidosis happens when the pH drops below 7.35 and a primary respiratory problem is determined if the PaCO2 is greater than 45 mmHg. Some of the following are causes for chronic respiratory acidosis: COPD, asthma, neuromuscular diseases, and obesity that is very severe. Acute respiratory acidosis is usually caused by obstructed air ways, such as choking, over dose of sedatives, or cardiac arrest. The compensatory mechanism for acute respiratory acidosis is intracellular buffering (hemoglobin, intracellular proteins). In one instance, English scouts found six thousand French guarding a river crossing that forced them to find another route. Similarly, the French tracked the progress of Henry s army to block his advance as they amassed troops. From their scouts, the French also learned that the English were few, short on supplies, and weary from the march and illness. Each sister is very courageous and show it in the book in many ways but Minerva is the most assertive and courageous of the Mirabal sisters. • 33. Theme Of Mood In The Outsiders Tall elm trees made the park shadowy and dark, and it would have been a good hangout, but we preferred our vacant lot (Hinton, 47) What will happen next? In The Outsiders, S.E. Hinton uses profound description of the setting to establish mood in the text. In a novel such as The Outsiders, it is of major importance that the author establishes setting and mood for the novels plot to develop. This is where ambience marries mood in a story. In any novel, the author uses the element of setting in order to establish a connection between the reader and the text. Hinton uses: When I stepped out into the bright sunlight from the darkness of the movie house, I had only two things on my mind: Paul Newman and a ride home. (Hinton, 3) as her introductory ... I couldn t have gotten much cooler without turning into a popsicle. (Hinton, 47) Ponyboy and Johnny rendezvous at the local park at two thirty in the morning. Just by looking at the time frame in which they decide to meet up, the reader automatically begins to draw conclusions about what could happen. Time is a major key to set mood intensity in a text. For example, events set at midnight create depth and tension. On the contrary, events set at ten a.m. on a Sunday morning create a sense contentment and peace of mind. Could this be the reason why Hinton s chapter four takes place at night in a lonesome park? What can readers predict? Will there be any sudden deaths or will the boys in this scene spend the night smoking in the park? Hinton uses the element of surprise along with foreshadowing to attract readers even more. In The Outsiders, S.E. Hinton emphasizes on the weather description to lead the readers to foreshadow approaching events. Ain t you about to freeze to death, Pony? (Hinton, 47) It was a frigid fall night, the boys were desolate in the local park. Once an author establishes coldness and loneliness, the mood drops to death. • 34. Analysis Of The Text Lady Audley s Secret Explication Essay In the text Lady Audley s secret (1862) , written by M. E. Braddon, there are many literary devices that came together to create a unique experience for the reader. The sentences in this text are purposely disconnected into eight lines. When reading a text that has sentences that are connected and flow fluently, it can be heard to determine key ideas. The text breaks up sentences so that key ideas are easily highlighted and specific words are emphasized. Within the eight lines, the author uses a unique sequence of events. The author begins the text by mentioning Talboys, and what he had done to Lady Audley. However, the author refrains from immediately saying who Talboys was in relation to her. Next the author explained, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this line of the text the author also uses the word thud . The word thud is an onomatopoeia, meaning it is spelled the way it sounds as its action is taking place. This enhanced the ability to imagine the sound of the fall. Another instance where imagery is used is when the author uses detailed adjectives to illustrate the size and appearance of the well. Throughout the text the author uses the mouth of the well and the cry of Talboys as defining aspects of his death. Both are presented in multiple places in the text. Braddon used the mouth of the well in the fifth line when Audley initially attacked Talboys and in the eighth line when Talboys was confirmed to be dead. The cry of Talboys was used in the fifth and the seventh lines of the text. Both the mouth of the well and the cry mark the beginning of Talboys attack and the confirmation of his death. The one cry by Talboys also confirmed that his death happened instantly. Characterization plays a major role in the impact of the text. The main character Audley is depicted as an evil woman who killed her first husband without remorse and who threatens her new husband. Audley threatens her husband by explaining to him what she has done to ex husband, who happened the treated her as he is now treating her. In other words she implied that he can possibly end up like her ex husband, if he does not change the way he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Considering these gendered parameters, we should not be surprised that many of the 2012 Super Bowl commercials ooze hegemonic masculinity. In this post David Mayeda explores how a masculinity can be used to opress men and women alike. Back in 1987, Raewyn Connell coined the term hegemonic masculinity in a seminal text, Gender Power. Microsoft improves their products often, they typically come out with a new version of Windows office every couple years, as is the same with Microsoft Windowsoperating system. Another way Microsoft keeps its shareholders happy is by continually paying out more and more money through dividends in November of every year. While Microsoft treats their shareholders very well in terms of dividend payments, their generosity doesn t end there. Microsoft has a program where they buy back shares from their shareholders.
