RULES
•   Don’t Leave the Person
•   You are their BEST chance of survival
•   Send someone for help
•   Always wear glove to avoid cross-
    contamination
BLEEDING
• Apply direct pressure to the wound with a
  sterile pad
• Raise and support the injured part above the
  heart level
• Fix the pad with a firm sterile bandage
BURNS
• Remove the person from danger
• Cool the burn with cold running water for 20
  minutes
• Gently remove clothing and jewellery from the
  burnt area
• Cover the burn with a sterile
  non-stick dressing
CHOKING
• Partial blockage
  – Encourage the person to relax and breathe
    normally
  – Encourage the person to cough
  – Stay with the person and give reassurance. If the
    person becomes unable to breath, go to total
    blockage
  –  123 (Egypt) for an ambulance
CHOKING
• Total blockage
  – Lay the person on their side on the floor
  – Give 4 sharp blow between the shoulders
  – If unsuccessful , gve 4 lateral chest thrust (hand to be
    place on the side of person’s chest below their armpit)
  – If unsuccessful , begin resuscitation
  –  123 (Egypt) for an ambulance
  – Repeat step 2-4 every 60 seconds until
    help arrives or blockage clears
FRACTURES
• If the person is concious , do not move the
  person unless they are in danger
• Apply a sterile dressing to any wounds an control
  bleeding
• Help the person into comfortable position
• Support the injured part with padding and
  splinting if needed
• Seek medical advice promptly
• If the Person is Unconscious “A, B, C “
•  123 (Egypt) for an ambulance
FAINTING
• If possible, assist the person to the ground or
  other flat surface
• Raise the person’s legs and let their body lie flat
• Loosen any tight clothing
• Check for injury or illness
• When recovered let the person rest before
  moving
• If the person is Unconscious  “A,B,C”
•  123 (Egypt) for an ambulance
SPRAINS AND STRAINS
• Follow the P-R-I-C-E-R Management plan
• Prevent injuries by warming up b4 exercise
• Rest the injured body part
• Ice to be applied at least 20min
• Compression bandage to be wrapped around the
  injury
• Elevation the injured part
• Refer the person to seek medical
  advice
MINOR INJURY
• Nose Bleeds
  – Sit the person forward
  – Pinch the soft part of nose for 10 min
  – Do not blow or sniff nose for 2 hours
  – Seek Medical advice if bleeding continues
MINOR INJURY
• Scrapes & Grazes
  – Wash area with running water to remove any dirt
  – Cover with a non-stick sterile dressing
  – Bandage or tape dressing into space
  – If anything is embedded in wound , seek medical
    advice
MINOR INJURY
• Tooth Knocked Out
  – Clean with milk or saliva and replace into socket if
    possible
  – Take the person to the dentist
  – Store the tooth in milk if you are not able to put it
    back in
  – Tooth SHOULD NOT washed in water
SHOCK
• DON’T move the person unneccessarily
• If conscious  Lay the person down and raise their leg
• Loosen tight clothing
• Stop bleeding if any
• Place a blanket under the person and a cover over the
  person
• DON’T give any food or drink
• Seek prompt medical advice
• If the person Unconscious  “A,B,C”
•  123 (Egypt) for an ambulance
