Finishing and detailing procedures of
orthodontic mechanotherapy should be
considered from the beginning stages of
treatment itself

 Duration of finishing and detailing in any given
case may be increased by the following
 1. Variation in size and shape of the patients
teeth, relative to the average measurements
 2.Inaccuracies in appliance design
 3.Inaccuracies in bracket placement
 4.Failure to allow sufficient time for the bracket
system to express itself

 1. Molar relationship. The distal surface of the
distobuccal cusp of the upper first permanent molar
made contact and occluded with the mesial surface
of the mesiobuccal cusp of the lower second molar.

molar fell within the groove between the mesial and
middle cusps of the lower first permanent molar.
