This document summarizes the key components and purpose of a fiber optic project's as-built drawing. 2. FIBER OPTIC PROJECT FINAL DRAWING

The fiber As-Built Document (ABD) is one of the deliverable in a
Fiber project. This is one important document that shows end
result of the project layout. It is used for documentation and
maintenance purpose. In a Fiber Project drawing documents are
taken serious.

3. The two major drawing documents are: Proposed route
document and As-Built-Document.
The former is generated after the route survey has been carried
out while the latter is generated after the project has been
successfully implemented

4. This is a drawing that shows the fiber route and other relevant
information. The document is divided into two portions.

5. THE LEFT PORTION: The project area
The left portion is the drawing area where line and point features
are represented. Such as

Manhole locations with their XY coordinates.
Route distances (measured in km),
Terrain details, side of the road that is selected for the trench,
The coordinate of the SITES with their XY coordinates,
Major landmarks on the project route,
Names of the road traversed,
Existing manhole and coordinate indicated as MH or HH,
Existing duct. etc

8. THE RIGHT PORTION : The project information area
The right Portion contains information on the drawing such as

• Surveyor name

11. The AS-Built document is very vital to the project as it is one of the
major document to be handed over to the maintenanceteam.
The first point of contact of the maintenanceteam is this
document with which they get familiarwith the route, hence the
level of accuracy is expected to be higher than the proposed route
drawing.
