The document summarizes the results of a questionnaire given to the target audience for a music video. It found that the internet was the most popular media among respondents. Television was second most popular for shows like dramas and comedies. Most respondents spent 3-4 hours per day on media and favored R&B music genres. Responses were mixed on whether the music video should include a storyline. The questionnaire provided useful insights into the target audience's preferences that can be applied to the music video.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

2. Question 1
As you can see from this chart, this chart is illustrating the
different types of media our target audience consume. The
most popular choice out target audience shown that did the
questionnaire form question 1 was clearly the internet. The
internet is a multi function media which contains many
aspects which can allow us to do many stuff such as surf the
browse, research, socially interact and gain new information.
The second most popular option between our target
audience was the television. The reason being they picked
this option was that many of our target audience have many
television programmes which they watch such as American
drama,SITCOM,Comdey and US crime series. This is the
reason TV was the second popular with our target audience
because of this, furthermore TV gives people updated
information which is a benefit to viewers as they gain the
latest. Newspaper was not so popular with our target
audience as our target audience felt with the increase in
technological goods, newspapers seem out dated to them,
the same goes for magazines and books explaining the
reason they haven’t got any votes
3. Question 2
This graph shows the period of time that our target
audience spend on their chosen media every day. As
you can see from the chart, the 30 minutes and 1-2
hours option has been picked by no one as I assume our
target audience feel it is not sufficient for them use
their media and be finished within this time period as it
is too short for them. However from 3-4 hours was very
successful in terms of our target audience picking it
because, 3-4 hours is a time which is very sufficient for
our target audience to be do their activities on their
preferred media. The last column which 5 hours + was
picked by a few of our target audience, the reason a few
of our target audience picked this. The reason being
was that most of our target audience wont spend this
much a period on their chosen media because they
would feel using media for 5 hours + would be too
excessive and far too long to spend on their media, this
is the reason few people picked this.
4. Feedback from question 3 and 4
• As you can see from my questionnaire, the 4 other questions were
written questions which required my target audience to express their
opinion about the question we put for them. So for question 3 some
of the comments made was ‘it’s entertainment and cures my
boredom’ another answer was ‘ it entertains me’. For question 4 the
comments made was ‘ It allows access to loads of different things and
a different answer to the question was ‘socialising and interacting
with people. Overall these questions allowed me to draw a good
picture about my target audience as they like to socialise and be
entertained from their media which is the real reason behind their
love of media.
5. Question 5
Question 5 allowed me to further access my target audience’s taste for which music they prefer the must, this will then allow me
to acknowledge my target audiences favourite music genre which I can then collate together and then hopefully apply that into
my music video. As you can see from the responses of my target audience, they clearly favoured the R and B genre as they feel it
sounds goods and puts them in a good mood, also they said people base their songs on their current or childhood struggles
basically saying R and B allows them to relate to the style of the music making it an extremely popular genre with my target
audience. Hip-hop and the other music genres were slightly popular but does not come no where near the popularity of R and B.
Rock was not so popular with our target audience as only one person picked the genre which shows its not such a popular genre
with our target audience. I also came across a person who said they are into a mix of the music genre as they feel all the music
genre applies to them and they have a multitude of likes for the popular genres.
6. Question 6
• Question 6 was a question which was designed to ask our target
audience if they preferred a storyline or just be a song without a
storyline. This question will help to understand if our target audience
want a story line or not in our music video which in my group we will
produce at a later stage. Some of the answers which we brought in
favoured a story line, but however some did not favour the story line.
The ones that favoured the storyline answered ‘Yes because it is
easier to understand what the song is about’. However the ones that
did not favour the music video said ‘ No because it doesn’t matter if a
storyline is included. Some said they do not mind if a storyline is
included or not.
7. conclusion
• Overall the questionnaire allowed me to see the opinions of my target
audience which I will then use these opinions in my music video. My
questionnaire allowed me to have an overall conclusion my using
different styles of questionnaires to get the best response from my
target audience. I have illustrated the answers into graphs and pie
charts to show the amount of people that picked a certain option
which was put down in the question. Other questions required the
target audience to provide their opinion in a written format which
allowed them to express their opinion without any restrictions of
already made options, which in this form allowed me to see the true
reflection of my questionnaire.
