This document discusses a feasibility study on moving from manual paper prescriptions to electronic prescriptions. It proposes a mobile app called DIGI-CLINIC that allows doctors to electronically prescribe medicines, view patient queues and histories, and print prescriptions. The app aims to simplify doctors' and patients' work, save paper, and better protect patient privacy by digitally storing prescription information on a secure server. Related works involving other electronic prescription apps are also reviewed that inspired aspects of the proposed DIGI-CLINIC app. The study analyzes how electronic prescriptions provide hospitals advantages over traditional paper prescriptions.
