            Means for YOUR Page

Facebook Newsfeed Changes


                                                     Newsfeed can be
                                                       filtered to show
                                                      just friends or to
                                                     show “following”.
                                                     Pages and people
                                                      you subscribe to
                                                     are in same feed.




Facebook says users spend 40% of their time in the newsfeed.
Will they opt to keep sort on friends only? Or be more likely to
unsubscribe from pages that overpost?
Facebook Following Feed




Each post in the “Following Feed” is now larger. Option to “see all” you are
following is prominent in upper right. They SAY all posts will show in
chronological order. (Like Twitter) Yet they also say Edgerank still applies and
example slides included “most shared” groupings from pages.
All posts are larger.




Multiple posts from
the same page are
grouped WITHOUT
photos.
Change is image size is
significant.

SIZE YOUR PHOTOS to
600 x 600 px. FB advises
MINIMUM 552 width

NOTE: Your comments
now display OVER the
top of the photo.

You must consider this when
making pic quotes – even if
you don’t comment,
someone who shares might.
Revisit your cover photo




Notice your whole cover photo now shows in feed, with your name and info
written over image. This explains why Facebook has been pushing simple
photos with little text. SIMPLIFY your photo.Make sure it shows what YOUR
page is about. (Your collages could also be a problem as many small images
may look cluttered.)
Your mission:
         Get fans to share YOUR content
                                        • Create CUSTOM content. If you
                                          normally reshare links, keep in mind
                                          that the original content creator is the
                                          one who will get the spotlight when
                                          your fans share your post.
                                        • Forget about long text posts above
                                          photos. Put your long text INTO an
                                          image using a site like www.quozio.com
                                          or www.picmonkey.com
                                        • Focus on creating content your top fans
                                          —your brand evangelists— will want to
                                          share. Remember: Facebook says

Facebook news feed changes and your page

  • 2. Facebook Newsfeed Changes Newsfeed can be filtered to show just friends or to show “following”. Pages and people you subscribe to are in same feed. Facebook says users spend 40% of their time in the newsfeed. Will they opt to keep sort on friends only? Or be more likely to unsubscribe from pages that overpost?
  • 3. Facebook Following Feed Each post in the “Following Feed” is now larger. Option to “see all” you are following is prominent in upper right. They SAY all posts will show in chronological order. (Like Twitter) Yet they also say Edgerank still applies and example slides included “most shared” groupings from pages.
  • 4. All posts are larger. Multiple posts from the same page are grouped WITHOUT photos.

If you normally reshare links, keep in mind that the original content creator is the one who will get the spotlight when your fans share your post. • Forget about long text posts above photos. Put your long text INTO an image using a site like www.quozio.com or www.picmonkey.com • Focus on creating content your top fans —your brand evangelists— will want to share.
