Abstract: To have a effective supply chain it is very much essential to have effective and reliable vendor. It is
far more important in case of a service sector. As service is intangible and can only be felt ;hence very much
depends on the quality of delivery and after sales activity. Ineffective and unreliable vendor can have a
cascading effect in all aspect of service chain resulting customer dissatisfaction. The present study tries to find
out the parameter or quality of a vendor that is preferred by telecommunication companies. As
telecommunication is a infrastructure service any weak link in the supply chain will have a catastrophic impact
on the end user. As vendor is one of the prime component of supply chain its careful selection is of immense
importance. There are numerous variables to select a vendor. But to have a quick and effective decisions
making these numerous variables are reduced to few factors. In this study the centroid method of factor analysis
is used to find four important factors. The study was carried out by interacting executives of around 8 telecom
companies amounting to 57 effective data. A broad outline of factors and encompassing variables under each
factor were depicted.

Companies’ perception toward manufacturing execution systems IJECEIAES
The use of information systems in manufacturing sector is very crucial to reach a high level of operational excellence and improve companies’ competitiveness. The use of such systems will definitely increase in the upcoming years, considering the digitalization strategies. Manufacturing execution systems gained a lot of attention in recent years due to showcased benefits in production management operations. Companies that adopted such systems witnessed an increase in process efficiency and enhancements with regards to cost savings and products quality. This paper seeks to analyze what makes the usage of manufacturing execution systems successful among manufacturing companies. We analyzed how the integration capabilities of such systems with other business applications and the company profile impact their usage and consequently the perceived benefits. A case study was conducted with 51 manufacturing companies and data were analyzed using partial least square structural equation modeling technique. The results confirmed the positive and significant impact of the company profile and solution integration capabilities on system usage. In addition, a ranking of solution modules importance for companies was also provided.

Abstract: Traceability links between requirements of a system and its source code are helpful in reducing
system conception effort. During software updates and maintenance, the traceability links become invalid since
the developers may modify or remove some features of the source code. Hence, to acquire trustable links from a
system source code, a supervised link tracing approach is proposed here. In proposed approach, IR techniques
are applied on source code and requirements document to generate baseline traceability links. Concurrently,
software repositories are also mined to generate validating traceability links i.e. Histrace links which are then
called as experts. Now a trust model named as DynWing is used to rank the different types of experts. DynWing
dynamically assigns weights to different types of experts in ranking process. The top ranked experts are then fed
to the trust model named as Trumo. Trumo validates the baseline links with top ranked experts and finds the
trustable links from baseline links set. While validating the links, Trumo is capable of discarding or re-ranking
the experts and finds most traceable links. The proposed approach is able to improve the precision and recall
values of the traceability links.

Dust Interception Capacity And Alteration Of Various Biometric And Biochemica...IOSR Journals
The dust accumulation capacity of Ficus carica L. was evaluated from eight different sites in and around Multan. The impact of dust accumulation was observed via various biometric attributes (leaf area, leaf fresh and dry weights) and biochemical attributes (chlorophyll contents, carotenoids & ascorbic acid) from leaves of F. carica. The maximum dust accumulation was occurred in the plants growing at Road sides while, the minimum dust was found on plants growing at Bahauddin Zakariya University. Dust accumulation has caused a significant effect on almost all foliage and biochemical attributes of F. carica. A positive correlation was found between dust accumulation and biometric attributes in F. carica. Biochemical responses had shown an inconsistency as chlorophylls (a, b & total), carotenoids decreased and ascorbic acid contents increased with an increase in dust accumulation. A negative correlation was found between dust deposition and chlorophyll contents. Whereas, accumulation of ascorbic acid was associated with a decline in pigment contents

For the first time in solar physics, this paper reports a comprehensive study how 235Uranium fission
causes Sunlight by the atomic phenomenon, Padmanabha Rao Effect against the theory of fusion. The first major
breakthrough lies in identifying as many as 153 solar lines in the Bharat Radiation range from 12.87 to 31 nm
reported by various researchers since 1960s. The Sunlight phenomenon is explained as follows. For example, the
energy equivalence 72.48 eV of the most intense 17.107 nm emission in the middle of solar spectrum is the energy
lost by β, γ, or X-ray energy of a fission product while passing through core-Coulomb space. This energy loss is the
Bharat Radiation energy that cause EUV, UV, visible, and near infrared emissions on valence excitation. From vast
data of emissions and energies of various fission products, 606.31 keV β (Eβmax) energy of 131I was chosen as the
source of 17.107 nm emission. For the first time a typical Bharat Radiation spectrum was observed when plotted
energy loss against β, γ, or X-ray energies of fission products supposedly present in solar flare and atmosphere :
113Xe, 131I, 137Cs, 95Zr, 144Cs, 134I, 140Ba, 133I, 140La, 133In etc that caused solar lines. Consistent presence of a sharp
line for four months in AIA spectral EUV band at 335A exemplifies self-sustained uranium fission from a small site
appeared in SDO/AIA image at 304A. Sun’s dark spot is explained as a large crater formed on Sun’s core surface as
a result of fission reaction that does not show any emission since fission products would be thrown away from the
site during fission. Purely the same Sun’s core material left over at the site after fission reaction devoid of fission
products and any emission seems to be the familiar dark Matter. This could be the first report on the existence of
Sun’s Dark Matter.

Discovery of Self-Sustained 235U Fission Causing Sunlight by Padmanabha Rao E...IOSR Journals
For the first time in solar physics, this paper reports a comprehensive study how 235Uranium fission
causes Sunlight by the atomic phenomenon, Padmanabha Rao Effect against the theory of fusion. The first major
breakthrough lies in identifying as many as 153 solar lines in the Bharat Radiation range from 12.87 to 31 nm
reported by various researchers since 1960s. The Sunlight phenomenon is explained as follows. For example, the
energy equivalence 72.48 eV of the most intense 17.107 nm emission in the middle of solar spectrum is the energy
lost by β, γ, or X-ray energy of a fission product while passing through core-Coulomb space. This energy loss is the
Bharat Radiation energy that cause EUV, UV, visible, and near infrared emissions on valence excitation. From vast
data of emissions and energies of various fission products, 606.31 keV β (Eβmax) energy of 131I was chosen as the
source of 17.107 nm emission. For the first time a typical Bharat Radiation spectrum was observed when plotted
energy loss against β, γ, or X-ray energies of fission products supposedly present in solar flare and atmosphere :
113Xe, 131I, 137Cs, 95Zr, 144Cs, 134I, 140Ba, 133I, 140La, 133In etc that caused solar lines. Consistent presence of a sharp
line for four months in AIA spectral EUV band at 335A exemplifies self-sustained uranium fission from a small site
appeared in SDO/AIA image at 304A. Sun’s dark spot is explained as a large crater formed on Sun’s core surface as
a result of fission reaction that does not show any emission since fission products would be thrown away from the
site during fission. Purely the same Sun’s core material left over at the site after fission reaction devoid of fission
products and any emission seems to be the familiar dark Matter. This could be the first report on the existence of
Sun’s Dark Matter.

The theory of special relativity plays an important role in the modern theory of classical electromagnetism. Considering deeply the effect of Special relativity in Electromagnetism, when a charge particle moves with high speed as comparable to the speed of light in vacuum tube or in space under influence of electromagnetic field, its mass varies under Lorentz transformation [1].The question arises that does its charge vary under Lorentz transformation? In this paper, Asif's equation of charge variation demonstrates the variation of electric charge under Lorentz transformation. The more sophisticated view of electromagnetism expressed by electromagnetic fields in moving inertial frame can be achieved by considering some relativistic effect including charge as well. One can easily achieve the mass-energy relation from Asif’s equation of charge variation as proved in this paper.

Spray forming, also called spray casting or spray deposition, is the inert gas atomization of a liquid metal stream into variously sized droplets. These droplets are interrupted by a substrate which collects and solidifies the droplets into coherent, near fully dense perform. The present work concerns with this techniques. This technology was applied to produce Al-6%Si-20%Pb alloys. The spray droplets were deposited over a copper substrate to achieve a disc shape perform. After spray deposition samples were rolled at room temperature on two high rolling mills and total porosity and wear characteristic of spray deposits were studies. The total porosity decreases with the increase in the percentage of reduction in thickness of the samples. Thickness of the samples in both middle and peripheral region. Wear testing of spray formed and rolled Al-Si-Pb alloy were investigated on a pin on disc type wear machine. Wear rate behavior with applied load and increase in percentage of reduction in thickness of samples was observed. Wear rate increased with increasing the load and decreased with increase in percentage of reduction in thickness of the sample.
Electrophoretic Patterns of Esterases in Eri silkworm Samia Cynthia riciniIOSR Journals
The present study was carried out to investigate the patterns of esterase isozymes extracted from the silk gland, haemolymph and mid gut of Eri silkworm (Samia Cynthia ricini). The qualitative analysis of esterases was carried out by 7.5% of native Polyacrylamide Gel Electrophoresis (PAGE). The inhibitor sensitivity of the enzymes towards paraxon, eserine and pCMB was used to classify the individual zones of esterases. Three zones of esterases were observed in different tissues of Eri silkworm. Silk gland esterases were classified as CHsp (Cholinesterase like enzymes) esterases. The haemolymph and mid gut esterases were classified into Esdp (Enzyme inhibited by paraxon and pCMB).

Hyperlactatemia is one of the important metabolic abnormalities in HIV infected patients. The
prevalence of hyperlactatemia in natural course of HIV disease is approximately about 2%. Aim of this study is
to estimate the prevalence of hyperlactatemia in HIV patients receiving two antiretroviral regimens, advocated
by NACO by monitoring the plasma lactate levels. This study was taken up with 200 patients to compare the
prevalence of hyperlactatemia of two commonly used NACO regimens (zidovudine+ lamivudine+ nevirapine)
Vs (stavudine+ lamivudine+ nevirapine). The plasma lactate levels were estimated between 9th to 18thmonth
after initiation of antiretroviral therapy. The comparision and correlation between plasma lactate levels, CD4
counts and haemoglobin percentage in both regimens was done. There was statistically significant rise in the
plasma lactate levels (p<0.05) in both regimens. The increase in plasma lactate levels is more in stavudine
group compared to zidovudine group. There was low degree of positive correlation between plasma lactate and
haemoglobin in Stavudine group but negative correlation between Plasma lactate and CD4 counts in both
groups. More focus is needed on Pharmacovigilance of NRTIs induced hyperlactatemia especially Stavudine.
Uranium Concentrations measurement for Ground Water and Soil Samples in Al-Na...IOSR Journals
In this work, Uranium concentrations in groundwater and soil samples from some areas of Al-Najaf city, Iraq were measured solid state nuclear track detector (CR-39) detector technique. The uranium concentration in groundwater samples was found to vary from (1.617782869±0.04342) μgl−1 to (5.079235843±0.137827) μgl−1, while in soil samples vary from (0.093558±0.000938) ppm to (0.184325±0.017511) ppm.
This study showed that levels of uranium concentration in groundwater and soil of study area of were compared with safe limit values recommended by WHO and UNSCEAR below the safe limit

Quantitative Structure-Activity Relationship studies has been performed on some anilinoquinolines . A variety of parameters including 2D- autocorelation, RDF, 3D- MoRSE, WHIM and GETAWAY parameters have been chosen for modeling the antitumor activity of these compounds. The multiple regression analysis reveals that the seven –parametric model is the best for modeling the activity of the compounds under present study. This model has been tested by using cross validated parameters. The results are also discussed on the basis of ridge regression.
Prevalence of Iron Deficiency Anaemia among Pregnant Women in Calabar, Cross ...IOSR Journals
Iron is a component of a number of proteins including haemoglobin, myoglobin, cytochromes and enzymes involved in redox reactions. Inadequate iron intake can lead to varying degrees of deficiency, from low iron stores to early iron deficiency and iron-deficiency anaemia and this is dangerous to both baby and mother. The objective of this study is to assess the prevalence of iron deficiency and iron deficiency anaemia among pregnant women in Calabar, Cross River State Nigeria. Seventy pregnant women within the age range of 15-45 years from University of Calabar Teaching Hospital were recruited as subjects in this study. The control consisted of fifty age-matched apparently healthy non-pregnant women . The tests that were carried out using standard method include include full blood count (packed cell volume, haemoglobin, mean cell haemoglobin, mean cell haemoglobin concentration and red cell count), serum iron, total iron binding capacity, transferrin saturation,serum ferritin and soluble transferrin recptor. The prevalence of anaemia and iron deficiency anaemia were found to be significantly higher (p<0.05)><0.01)><0.01) increased in pregnant than non-pregnant. It was also shown that pregnant women in their third trimesters and multigravidae had the highest prevalence of iron deficiency and iron deficiency anaemia while pregnant women in their second trimester had the highest prevalence of anaemia. In conclusion the study has shown that the prevalence of anaemia, iron deficiency and iron deficiency anaemia among pregnant women in the studied area were still high and can be considered public health problem.

element analysis of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders made of Steel and Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP)
composites has been carried out. Finite element analysis of composite cylinder subjected to internal pressure is
performed. Layered shell element of a versatile FE analysis package ANSYS (version 11.0) has been used to
model the shell with FRP composites.
A number of cases are considered to study the stresses and deformations due to pressure loading inside the
cylinder. First, the results of stresses and deformation for steel cylinders are compared with the analytical
solution available in literature in order to validate the model and the software. The weight savings are also
presented for steel, Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic (GFRP) composites LPG cylinders. Variations of stresses
and deformations throughout the cylinder made of steel and GFRP are studied.

codes are prone to theft or forgery and thus biometrics isa solution thereto. Biometrics is the way of recognizing
and scrutinizing the physical traits of a person. Automated biometrics verification caters as a conducive and
legitimate method, but there must be an assurance to its cogency. Furthermore, in most of the cases unimodal
biometric recognition is not able to meet the performance requirements of the applications. According to recent
trends, recognition based on multimodal biometrics is emerging at a greater pace. Multimodal biometrics
unifies two or more biometric traits and thus the issues that emerge in unimodal recognition can be mitigated in
multimodal biometric systems. But with the rapid ontogenesis of information technology, even the biometric
data is not secure. Digital watermarking is one such technique that is implemented to secure the biometric data
from inadvertent or premeditated attacks.This paper propounds an approach that is projected in both the
directions of improving the performance of biometric identification system by going multimodal and, increasing
the security through watermarking. The biometric traits are initially transformed using Discrete Wavelet and
Discrete Cosine Transformation and then watermarked using Singular Value Decomposition. Scheme depiction
and presented outcomes justifies the effectiveness of the scheme.

A quick and convenient method has been developed for the micro estimation of antihistamine drugs. 1-5 mg of sample is allowed to react with 10 ml of 0.02 M, N-bromosaccharin solution. Unconsumed reagent can be accurately titrated with 5 ml of 15% KI and 0.02N sodium thiosulphate solution using starch as indica-tor. SD and CV was calculated for reproducible and accurate result. The accuracy of the method is within + 1 % and possible course of reaction was suggested on the basis of stoichiometry as well as find reaction product.

Abstract: Cryptography is the study of techniques for ensuring the secrecy and authentication of the information. The development of public-key cryptography is the greatest and perhaps the only true revolution in the entire history of cryptography. Elliptic Curve Cryptography is one of the public-key cryptosystem showing up in standardization efforts, including the IEEE P1363 Standard. The principal attraction of elliptic curve cryptography compared to RSA is that it offers equal security for a smaller key-size, thereby reducing the processing overhead. As a Public-Key Cryptosystem, ECC has many advantages such as fast speed, high security and short key. It is suitable for the hardware of implementation, so ECC has been more and more focused in recent years. The hardware implementation of ECC on FPGA uses the arithmetic unit that has small area, small storage unit and fast speed, and it is an extremely suitable system which has limited computation ability and storage space.[1][2] The modular arithmetic division operations are carried out using conditional successive subtractions, thereby reducing the area. Cement is responsible for about 5% - 8% of global co2 emissions. Therefore the utilization of industrial waste
has been increased which is environment friendly. In this paper an attempt has been made to utilize sugarcane
bagasse ash (S.C.B.A) a residue from sugar industry as a supplementary cement replacement material.
The present study investigates with the strength and durability properties of the concrete when the
cement is replaced with S.C.B.A in different proportions. In the first stage the S.C.B.A (B.A.1) is partially
replaced in the percentages of 0 to 40% in increasing steps of 5%. Further in the second stage the S.C.B.A
(B.A.2) is heated up to 8500
c for about 8 hours in a muffle furnace and is replaced in the percentages of 0 to
40% in increasing steps of 5%. Cubes, Cylinders and Beams are casted and tests are conducted and
compressive strength, split tensile strength and flexural strength obtained for both the conditions.

A semi-structured interview with the pre-defined set of questions used to collect the responses from decision makers of the firm. Multi criteria decision-making tool called TOPSIS is used to evaluate the responses and rank the factors. The results of this indicate that supplier relationship and inventory planning were most principal factors positively influencing on-time delivery of the product, production flexibility, cost savings, additional costs. This study helps to identify and optimize the process parameters using objective and subjective evaluation approach. The combined influence of thought process of manager to optimize the internal supply chain is extracted in this work.

Abstract: To have a effective supply chain it is very much essential to have effective and reliable vendor. It is
far more important in case of a service sector. As service is intangible and can only be felt ;hence very much
depends on the quality of delivery and after sales activity. Ineffective and unreliable vendor can have a
cascading effect in all aspect of service chain resulting customer dissatisfaction. The present study tries to find
out the parameter or quality of a vendor that is preferred by telecommunication companies. As
telecommunication is a infrastructure service any weak link in the supply chain will have a catastrophic impact
on the end user. As vendor is one of the prime component of supply chain its careful selection is of immense
importance. There are numerous variables to select a vendor. But to have a quick and effective decisions
making these numerous variables are reduced to few factors. In this study the centroid method of factor analysis
is used to find four important factors. The study was carried out by interacting executives of around 8 telecom
companies amounting to 57 effective data. A broad outline of factors and encompassing variables under each
factor were depicted.

I. Introduction
Telecommunication is a vital infrastructure for growth of economy. Its operational purview expands
from basic infrastructure to entertainment. Trade and commerce is unthinkable in the present world without
telecom infrastructure. The system is highly technology driven and dynamic in nature. To keep the system
operational it is very much essential to have a effective supply chain where availability of components, spares
and services should immediate and adequate. In Indian context the procurement (either product or service) is
quite cumbersome unlike the developed economy. Hence to select a vendor or to outsource a service a company
has to consider and evaluate many parameters which sometimes overlap and make the process confusing.
Maggie C.Y. Tam, V.M. Rao Tummala[1] has put forth 19 different parameter for a vendor selection process
while studying the Hong-Kong telecom sector encompassing them into thee primary parameters i.e
Cost,Technical Capability and After Sales Service.; Sanjay Kumar et.al[2] while analyzing vendor selection
for manufacturing industry suggested that reliability of the vendor, product quality and the vendor experience
are the top three problems in the vendor selection. V. R. Pramod, D. K. Banwet [3] has made a study on
telecommunication service supply chain of Indian public sector telecom companies using ANP technique and
found out a lot of interdependencies of factors in telecom service chain. However because of typical nature of
Indian business scenario the researchers attempted to make a comprehensive study of main factors of selecting
the vendor for a telecom service provider (Public enterprise as well as private) having pan India operation
1.1 Definition and Progress of SCM in Telecom Service:
While running their business of providing telecom service, the service providers usually deal with a
number of activities, such as: procurement (both hard ware and soft ware), service operation(which includes
installation), warehouse management, selling, marketing, and customer servicing(fault diagnosis, repair and
rectification) among others. To help them to manage these activities, companies try to automate (i.e placing a
system into work) their business processes. Though, independent software and hardware solutions are used for
each of the activities; however, in practice, all the activities are highly connected and interdependent. Figure 1
below depicts atypical operation of a telecom service provider.

If these activities are synthesized then we can enumerate that all activities are having independent
entities having their own criterion of operation but fully interdependent on each other in order the system to
function. Depicted in table 1 below.

To integrate many of them in a single process is the task of the Supply Chain Management (SCM).
SCM is a complex process which includes a number of interrelated activities such as: negotiating with suppliers
for input materials, competing for customer orders, managing inventory, scheduling the operation(installation
and Service), and delivering goods to customers.
It is probably not possible to trace when the term SCM appeared first and its original definition. The
concepts of SCM have been practised by companies since the early 20th
century, first discussed in the literature
back in the 1950s [J. W. Forrester] [4], and the term itself appeared in publications in the 1970s[J.F. Burns
and B.D. Sivazlian ][5]. In the 1980s, the idea to automate SCM business processes became widespread,
however, the experts treated every entity in the supply chain as a standalone process isolated from the rest.
Many related works in the late 1990s still concentrated only on solving tasks in separate subareas [F. Cheng, M.
Ettl, and G Lin.][6], [ J. Hu and P. Wellman] [7] omitting a number of key parameters and constraints, such
as temporal and capacity constraints[M. Babaioff and W. E. Walsh] [8],[ M. Babaioff and N. Nissan ][9], W.
[E. Walsh and M. P. Wellman ][10]. It is only at the turn of the century when researchers raised the issue of
dynamics of the SCM problem domain [Swaminathan et al., 1998][11], and started to look at the SCM as an
integrated process that faces constraints [Sun and Sadeh, 2004][12].
With the advent of the World Wide Web, electronic trading systems have become extremely popular in
the last decade. After such basic models as e-Shops and e-Procurement, e-Marketplaces have emerged to
integrate all business entities (suppliers, customers, partners, trading agents, competitors, etc.) within one global
electronic environment [Ghenniwa et al., 2006][13]. These newly established economic institutes are dynamic,
rapidly growing and changing. When participating in them, enterprises can no longer rely on static business
strategies. They have to be able to cope with the uncertain conditions of these environments.
New system architectures have been proposed recently [Wang et al., 2008][14] to support participation
in e-Commerce, [Sadeh-Koniecpol et al., 2003][15], [Goodwin et al., 1999][16]. Most researchers would agree
that the architecture of a modern SCM DSS has to be agile in order to cope with dynamics of electronic markets,
as well as easy reconfigurable so as to be Multi-Agent Approach to Developing Dynamic SCM Decision

Support Systems able to adapt to the needs of various businesses and support protocols of different trading
environments. The multi-agent approach has proved to be the most suitable to meet these requirements
[Jennings and Wooldridge, 1998][17], [He et al., 2003a][18], [Chaib-draa and Muller, 2006][19], [Wang
and Fang, 2007][20]. The following sections discuss the latest research in designing modern DSS for e-
Commerce and SCM in particular.
1.2 SCM for Telecommunication Service Provider
Telecommunication markets are saturated. Competition is fierce. And the economy is sluggish.
Companies spent a fortune bidding for Telecom licenses and developing new services, only to find that
consumer uptake of new services is slow. To meet these challenges and create sustainable value, one need to
keep tight control of every aspect of its operations, the specific needs of the telecommunications industry:
• Introduce new products to meet changing demands
• Develop smart delivery strategies based on complete information and powerful, proven
Capabilities
• Find the right balance between maximizing product availability and minimizing costs
In addition, one must have ability to meet demand, slashes costs and inventory levels, and increases the
competitiveness.
1.3 Key Areas
1.3.1 Supply Chain Sketching
Effective, flexible planning is essential in the fast-moving telecommunications industry. This include
• Create detailed plans and forecasts for supply and demand, distribution, production, and
Transportation
• Make better decisions based on comprehensive historical and point-of-sale data
• Involve a range of internal and external organizations in your decision making
• Optimize the manufacture of bundles, such as cell phones with accessories
1.3.2 Supply Chain Relationship
This is to collaborate with your suppliers and partners more closely and effectively than ever before,
delivering unprecedented flexibility and responsiveness across the extended supply chain. {Product
replenishment – vendor-managed inventory; supplier-managed inventory; or collaborative planning, forecasting,
and replenishment (CPFR)}.
1.3.3 Supply Chain Coordination
To track and monitor events at every stage of the logistics cycle. Problems are reported immediately
and can be dealt with immediately. Performance management functions provide you with key figures that allow
you to evaluate and streamline your supply chain on all levels.
1.3.4 Supply Chain Execution
Warehouse and materials management capabilities to enable the supply chain function smoothly from
procurement and storage to order picking and shipping thereby facilitating a holistic integrated SCM with
reasonable flexibility.
1.4 Backward and Forward Integration
The better the IT solutions mesh with each other, the more value they add to the business e.g. CRM for
selling activities and Supplier Relationship Management for purchasing activities. End to end integration also
encompasses other important processes for telecommunication companies – order management, coordination,
and fulfillment tasks relating to both customer-driven and network-driven scenarios. These tasks range
from installing services and resolving customer-reported problems to installing network infrastructure and
performing maintenance and troubleshooting functions.
By optimizing and strengthening processes throughout supply network, the company should be able
you to launch new physical products with maximum efficiency, meet unpredictable demand, and thrive in a
highly competitive business environment

1.5 Additional Parameters of Good Supply Chain
1.5.1 Control of Costs
Can be achieved by efficient order processing, effective inter enterprise collaboration, lower inventory
levels, and reduced capital expenditures.
1.5.2 Revenue Generation
By making company planning more accurate, improving product availability and thereby achieving match of
supply to demand. As a result, customer satisfaction increases and company revenues rise.
1.5.3 Risk Minimization
With global visibility that puts the company firmly in the driver’s seat and gives the total control of
enterprise’s supply chain. By enabling adaptive supply networks and mutually profitable collaboration, it lets
the organization react much more rapidly to change and reduces the risk that comes with sudden change.
II. Objective of Study
With the aforementioned back ground this research tries to find out the potential area of consideration
for before one starts evaluating a vendor or a supplier or a service provider. The research took into consideration
14 different parameters as potential area of strength of a vendor to typically serve the telecom sector. As this is a
technology management driven service, factors related to technology, operation, after sales service, billing &
finance and human resource aspect were taken into consideration. The aim was to find out factors which an end
user considers to be more important to streamline its operation.
III. Methodology
The study was carried out by using questionnaire. Since the study was qualitative nature, the
respondents were asked to just give preference about the quality they expect from a potential
vendor/supplier/service provider.

The study was carried out by questionnaire survey as well as personal interview with executives of 8(Eight)
telecom service provider having pan India operation. In all total more than 100 executives dealing with
procurement, purchase and outsourcing were contacted. However in all the researcher received 57 relevant data
from different respondents.
3.1 Factor Analysis
In real life application there would be number of independent variable those come into picture while
predicting any response. Due to this type of excessive independent variables the problem of prediction becomes
multifold due to
i. Increased computational time to get solution
ii. A lot of time in collecting the data and making the collection expensive
iii. Presence of redundant independent variables
iv. Difficulty in making inference
Factor analysis is a handy tool in clubbing down too many parameters into few parameters so that an
effective collection, analysis and interpretation of data can be made. Theoretically, the total number of factors in
the factor analysis is equal to the total number of input variables. But after factor analysis we can make out some
of the insignificant factor s which can be dropped out. However each factor analysis is based on certain
criterion.
For this research centroid method of factor analysis is used. This method maximizes the sum of
absolute loading of each factor. In this method the co efficient of the terms in the linear composite of each other
will be either +1 or -1.In this method the respondents and corresponding variables are collected as data. Then for
each variable a correlation coefficient for every other variable is obtained in a matrix form. This is followed by
reflection of correlation coefficient matrix if required.

Once reflections are over we get a matrix which is capable of giving us the factor 1.This is done by
finding column sum of (each variable) matrix Sj and T.
T=Grand total of column total=∑ S j (j= 1to n)
And for each variable loading factor L1(j) = S j / √T. The same would be loaded negatively if reflection
has been done or it will be taken as it is. These loading are taken as factor 1.In the next step the cross product
matrix which consists of product of each pair of coefficient of loading [L1(j)] is obtained. Then we try to obtain
residual matrix by subtracting the cross product matrix from original correlation coefficient matrix before
reflection. This residual matrix will be primary matrix for reflection to get factor 2.
This iteration will be continued till we get all the desired factors. It means if two factors are required
then loading of second residual matrix would be last step. If three factors are required then we go for third
iteration with second matrix (i. e first residual matrix) as base. Once all factor loadings are obtained the final
computation is done by finding the eigen values as follows( table 2).

IV. The Study
The study was carried out to get theme of understanding the parameters generally considered by a telecom
operator while selecting its vendor. There are as many as 15 parameters prescribed by different researcher and
different management practitioner as listed below.

15. Vertical Integration
The researcher requested the persons those who are in the process of procurement, out sourcing and vendor
selection activity of any telecom service provider to give ratings and preference to various factors as listed
above. The telecom service provider those who are in all aspect of telecom service (i.e. landline, cellular, DTH
and broadband) are considered for thesurvey.
Initial analysis of study indicated that the factor like EDI(Electronic Data Input) has no weightage. It
means EDI does not carry any specific significance as criteria of selecting a vendor. And careful observation of
the data indicate that many parameters are having less than 10% weightage. Many are in the weightage of 16%
to 35%.Factors like holding safety stock and close partnership with supplier are having maximum
weightage(Figure 3). Further interaction with these executives indicated that they felt many parameters were
being overlapped. So the researcher tried to find out important five factors which are of prime importance to
select a vendor.
The research was conducted by interacting with 57 respondents of 8 different telecom companies. The
initial data was as follows (Table 3).The factor of X1 was discarded as preliminary observation indicated
that it has zero weightage. In all now there are 14 factors and out of that five are to be found out in the order of
weightage i.e preference.

The foctors were found out by centriod method of in the form of five iteration. The intial correlation matrix is as
follows. Futher iterations were made out of this basic correlation matrix (Table 4).

V. Analysis
We could infer from our analysis that all the variables are accommodated in four factors. It means in four
different criteria are good enough to decide the capability of a vendor to a telecommunication service provider
in India. The weighatge to different factors are depicted in figure.4.The weightage varies from few reliable
supplier as prime factor in selecting a vendor with effective supply chain being least weightage. Hence while
evaluating or recommending or selecting the vendor for a telecom service provider operating in India the prime
concern should be about consisting the criteria to few reliable vendors.Any outsourcing should be final
customer concentric. Supplier should be efficient to supply with a effective supply chain mechanism(i.e.
transport etc). Looking at the aspect of common variance (Figure .5) it can be infered that the most preferred
factor(i.e few reliable supplier) accounts for maximum common variance of all factors.This is followed by the
factor of efficient supply (26% of common variance).The consumer cncentric ousourcing and effective supply
chain accounts for 17% and 18% of common variance.This indicates that effective supplly is very relative issue
and can not be univrsalised to a certain extent.
VI. Conclusion
In selecting a vendor for a telecommunication system of Indian operation there are around 15
parameters.As depicted in table 5 all these may be scaled down to four factors as perceived by the procurment
authorities of Indian telecommunication service provider.

The broad analysis of these four factors can lead to make a detailed analysis of each variables for evaluating a
vendor.
