In June, Blair students, Tys, Jacob, Clio, Aya, and I went to Williams College for the Squash
And Beyond summer camp. The camp was run by the head squash coach at Williams, Zafi.
About forty four squash players attended this camp, along with three head coaches, one track
coach, and three current player coaches. The player coaches consisted of Darius Campbell,
former Blair student and currently number three at Bates, Mario Yanez, currently number one at

It was the year 2014 and summer had come to a close. My mind had suddenly switched from
lounging on the warm, sandy beach and being gently kissed by sunshine to traumatizing, stressful

friends with? Am I going to get terrible grades? These thoughts flooded my mindand I was nervous.

Mosley. Miss Mosley is an incredible artist, who was taught by John Angel, a former student of
the great Pietro Annigon. She was taught for four years in Florence, Italy and mastered her
incredible ability to draw. This knowledge only made me more intrigued but exceptionally
anxious. I didn t know what to expect from such a well taught artist. I began to doubt myself even

and emphasize the area s regional isolation. Therefore, Mayhew s choice to compare the
neighborhood to Jessore bespeaks his inability to find a local equivalent, and emphasizes the Island
s substantial divergence from European society. Furthermore, this superficial comparison extends to
the reputation both neighborhoods carry as cholera s patient zero in their respective counties.

The Emergence of Satellite Radio While the transition of television to a digital technology with its
improved picture and sound quality has been a much publicized and controversial process,
television s venerable ancestor, radio, has stayed in the background. But this year, in the United
States, radio broadcastingis making its own digital leap. Two start ups are introducing a new type
of radio broadcast subscription based digital audio sent from satellites. With satellite digital audio
radio services (SDARS), as they re called, listeners will be able to tune in to the same radio stations
anywhere in the United States.

The problems include environmental noise and RF signal reflections that give rise to multipath
fading variations in RF signal level due to signal reflections. The improved robustness of digital
radio promises to remedy this, delivering near CD sound for most listening conditions.
With AM radio, the transition will be even more marked. The new digital service will offer two
channel stereo sound and greatly increased frequency response, resulting in audio quality
comparable to today s analog FM.
In addition, digital will greatly enhance terrestrial radio robustness, which is the ability to withstand
factors such as multipath fading, environmental noise, and impulse noise interference due to
automobile ignitions or home appliances. Digital s robustness also holds up well against
interference from nearby radio broadcast signals and terrain blockage for FM, as well as signal
attenuation due to grounded conductive structures like reinforced concrete highway overpasses for
AM.

the blue collar factory workers also live, so they are exposed to the toxic smoke almost 24 hours
a day. Not only the blue collar workers are affected; about one percent of the Beijing population

The text The Book of Job, interpreted and translated by Stephen Mitchell, raises great controversy
in the world of righteousness. It is a well known, universal text, and with each new interpreter who
translates, there is a new version of the story brought to the surface. William Blake partakes in this
conflict of ideas through his artwork rather than his writing. His art reflects his own personal view
of the text and has both similar and differentiating opinions than Mitchell s own on the key events
in the book. Narrowing it down to Blake s ideas behind the scene depicted in Figure A alongside

By directing the attention onto not only the main illustration, but also the art located on the
border, one is able to further deduce Blake s interpretation. Shown in Figure A, directly under the
main illustration there appears to be two birds, a crow and an owl, in some sort of quarrel.
Based on the context of the dispute happening in the main illustration, it is safe to assume that
these birds represent the opposing sides of the argument. The crow, appearing more aggravated,
shows more correlation to the three friend s side, and the owl, while alarmed but not nearly as
aggressive looking, leans more towards Job s. The crow is a common symbol of evil, bad luck,
and even death. If Blake drew the connection from the crow to the three friends, then it can be
inferred that Blake has a rather negative outlook on them and their side of this fight. Rather than
looking into the logic behind it, Blake seems to base his interpretation of these characters on
their words and actions from the text, which paint them as truly terrible acquaintances. In order
to further depict this, Blake illustrates the three friends in the most judgemental fashion: lined up
together, all with their pointer fingers outstretched in accusation towards Job. Their expressions
do not fall short of condemning or angry. Job on the other hand, connected to the owl, is seen as
a wise man in Blake s eyes. At the very least, Blake agrees with Job s reasoning and sticks to the
wise side of the is Job a wise man debate. Job himself also gives way to Blake s thoughts through
his body language in the illustration. Eyes cast to the heavens, palms faced out in a questionly
manner, his look of grief and questioning directly portrays Blake s vision of Job s immense suffering
