A Tale Of Two Cities Chapter 3 Essay
The following extract from chapter three is an example of how the supernatural and the scientific are
continuously contrasting in the novel:
In your opinion there is a diabolical agency which makes Dartmoor an unsafe abode for a Baskerville
that is your opinion? At least I might go the length of saying that there is some evidence that this may
be so. Exactly. But surely, if your supernatural theory be correct, it could work the young man evil in
London as easily as in Devonshire. A devil ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this part, he shows incredulity and thinks that such thing must be the work of something
supernatural. Watson s comparison of Holmes and the people living in the Dartmoor enhances again
this contrast between the city detective who appeals more to science and the superstitious servants that
give paranormal meanings to the howl of a dog. A contradiction with Watson s ideas can also be seen
in this extract. He first claims to have common sense and that is what makes him deny the existence of
the hound, but then after reflecting on what he had heard, he justifies this saying that facts are facts
and this generates doubts and confusion in his mind. It is important to notice how Doyle develops a
mysterious and frightening scene in our minds the moment we imagine how terrifying must be to hear
such sound that even Watson, another man of science, starts to doubt about the existence of this
enigmatic and evil

Crime And Juvenile And Adult Crimes
In today s criminal justice system in the United States, there is a lot of dispute between what the
qualifications are for juvenile and adult crimes. Some believe that the only difference is age. Others
say it is the severity of the crime. It s obvious that when adults commit crimes, whether they are a
misdemeanor offense or a felony, they pay for it. The confliction comes when a juvenile commits a
crime. What exactly determines if they are tried as an adult or a juvenile? Does it vary by state to
state? Are there federal laws that govern that debate? There have been cases where children have been
tried in a court of law as an adult. So what exactly is the clear cut reason why juveniles are tired
sometimes as adults, and other times as juveniles?
So what exactly is a crime to begin with? According to dictionary.com, crime is defined as an action
or an instance of negligence that is deemed injurious to the public welfare or morals or to the interests
of the state and that is legally prohibited. (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/crime?s=t). People
of all ages commit a crime. The crimes that people commit can range from shoplifting to murder. But
what happens when a juvenile commits one of these crimes? First, let s cover what a juvenile is.
According to (http://www.hg.org/juvenile crime law.html), Minors under the age of 18 years, who
commit a crime, or otherwise violate established rules and statutes, are identified as juvenile
delinquents, juvenile offenders,

Jenny Durra Character Analysis
Analyzation of Jenny Curran: Trait and Psychodynamic Theories Looking at Psychodynamic areas in
Jenny Curran s life, it is easy to see where the root of her problems lie and how she grew into such a
troubled young woman. Whether she realized it at any stage of her life or not, Jenny s experiences as a
little girl followed her for the rest of her life. After her mother s death when she was only a little girl of
five years old, she unfortunately lives with her alcoholic father in Greenbow, Alabama. Her dad
sexually and physically assaults her and her two equally unfortunate siblings during the course of their
troubled childhood. In an innocent and desperate attempt to run away from her dad s alcohol induced
stupors, she and Forrest hide nearby ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was not uncommon that she found herself confused, wondering why she was dealt the cards given to
her and dwelling on why it was so hard for her to just disappear to a new place she didn t know. Since
Jenny s childhood was plagued by physical and sexual abuse from her drunken father, the police
whisked her away to coincide along with her grandmother during her teenage youth. The pain and
torture would nevertheless make an imprint upon her personality and make her the perfect example of
the psychodynamic theory. Upon a return visit to Greenbow, Alabama, Jenny sees her father s
abandoned house and is given an unhappy reminder of her abusive past. It was her unhealthy home
life that likely caused her to go astray, searching for the love and nurturing she never received as a
child. Her vulnerability as a child translated into pain and destruction as an adult. Jenny traveled down
a road to nowhere in her many pursuits, she had no goals or final destination in mind. She lived by the
seat of her pants. She led a whimsical, spontaneous life, but somewhere down the road she got lost.
Jenny was often confused and ran away from her true happiness. Jenny didn t care where the road or
more explicitly, life took her. For example, after an anti Vietnam rally in Washington, D.C., Jenny
once again abandons Forrest and hitches a ride from a random truck

RIGHT TO FOOD: AN INSTANCE OF HUMAN RITHS
The human right to food has its contemporary origin within the U.N. Universal Human Rights
framework. Ensuring the right to adequate food and consequently the right to be free form hunger is
specifically enshrined in a number of Human Rights instruments. It is obvious that without adequate
food people cannot lead a health, active lives. They are not employable. They cannot take care of their

On May 12,1999 the UN Committee on Economic, Social and cultural Rights f its General Comment
12th Observes, Fundamentally the roots of the problem of hunger and malnutrition are not lack of
food but lack of access to available food, inter alia because of poverty, by large segments of world s
population. The General comment 12 identified that the fundamental distinction need to be made is
between availability and access. The General Comment 12 defined the right to adequate food thus;
The right to adequate food is realized when every man, woman and child, alone or in community with
others, has physical and economic access at all times to adequate food or means for its procurement.
[6]
The General Comment also explain that adequacy means that access must be taken of what is
appropriate under given circumstances Food Security implies food being accessible for both and
future generations. Thus as explained in paragraph 8 the core content of the right to adequate food
implies the availability of food in adequate quantity and quality sufficient to satisfy the needs of
individuals[7]. In 2000 the UN Millennium /declaration adopted at the largest ever gathering heads of
states, committed countries, rich and poor to do all they could do to eradicate poverty, promote human

My Reflection Of Me
I don t know about you, but I don t often star at myself in the mirror, studying my own face. Does
anybody? The longest amount of time I spend looking at myself is when I m shaving, and even then, I
m just concentrating on not being a klutz and cutting myself open. I m not being down on myself or
looking for attention or any such nonsense like that. I mean, I don t even have a Facebook. It s just
that, gazing upon my reflection is just not something I do. I get out of the shower, I shave, brush my
teeth, and I m gone, on to whatever the day has in store for me. Another thing I m not used to is the
clarity of the face.
I should back up a moment, so you understand. I have, for the better part of a month, been having a
recurring dream that unsettles me. In it, I am staring at myself in a mirror and it is devoid of the dream
quality one expects from the images in their brain. In dreams, whenever I see someone who is
supposed to be me or someone I have known for years, the face is different, sometimes subtly, other
times it is completely different. But in this mirror, in this reflection that comes through in my reverie,
it is my face, perfectly so, no blur or changes or oddly shaped parts. The eyes are the same dull blue
that they ve always been, my nose, slightly long but not weirdly so, although there is a curve at the
bridge where I broke it falling from my bike when I was twelve. My ears are normal looking, my
eyebrows a tad bushy but otherwise fine with no unibrow,

The Causes Of Carbon Dioxide And Planeting Earth s...
Carbon Dioxide emissions are destroying earth s environment, minute by minute. Humans play a big
part in the addition to the carbon in the air. Every car on the road produces carbon dioxide into the air,
as well as the factories worked in, also release carbon dioxide. However, nature also contributes to the
increase of carbon dioxide. Wildfires are an attribute to greenhouse gas in the air that is almost
uncontrollable by humans. When acres of land is burned, the smoke releases carbon dioxide into the
air. Carbon Dioxide takes over the oxygen levels that humans need in order to live and breath. Carbon
Dioxide is a gas that is absorbed from the air through plants during the process of photosynthesis.
Trees are important in the regulation of greenhouse gas in the atmosphere. A newspaper article, The
New York Times, states, Wildfires also release carbon dioxide, one of the main drivers of climate
change, and reduce the number of trees available to absorb carbon dioxide, a double whammy for the
atmosphere (Schlossberg). Trees and forests help maintain the level of this gas, by releasing oxygen
and absorbing carbon dioxide. Unfortunately, wildfires interrupt the receiving of carbon dioxide.
When a forest catches on fire, the substance that absorbs the greenhouse gases are burned down. Not
only are the wildfires releasing millions of metric tons of carbon dioxide, there is no longer a product
to take in the toxic gas. Therefore, more greenhouse gases are released than absorbed,

Justice League History
This is the point when everything changes. Flash lost his mother when he was child and he has carried
that weight throughout his life.Until one day he could not handle it. His entire life is a series of
unfortunate events and it broke him. He used the power he was granted to go back in time to save his
mothers life. This caused a time boom. History itself changed. Bruce Wayne died in the ally 20 years
ago instead of his parents so batman is Thomas Wayne. Atlanteans and Amazoneans are at war. The
World is in WWIII. He eventually saw the error of his ways and stopped himself from saving his
mother. Yet when he did so time reset itself. It allowed one unknown individual to go back and erase
ten years of history. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He had been erased with those 10 years. So he went around in the new world hoping someone could
remember him. Since no one knew him he was almost gone from existance until the flash pulled him

The new 52 origin of the Justice League is different and more direct from the previous versions. The
Justice Leagues meet up and team up was more absurd and unplanned as it is normally Batman who
brings the team together. It starts off with a few panned attacks in multiple cities. The Gaurdians(boss
of green lanterns which are basically galactc police) send Hal Jordan to investigate the attacks since
Earth is his homeworld. They believe the attacks were extraterrestrial due to high nergy signals in the
area. Hal Jordon heads to Gotham were the latest signal came and encouters batman. He could not

when realized Hal was there. Eventually they both team up and chase the alien down into the sewers.

Grizzly Bear Recovery Case Study
Chris Servheen, the Grizzly Bear Recovery Coordinator for the US Fish and Wildlife Service, has said
that the grizzly bears have met every criteria set forth towards their recovery plan. Since meeting these
criteria, it may be time to have them removed from the Endangered Species List (delisted). Delisting
means that the bears won t be protected by the Endangered Species Act (ESA). As it can be seen from
the grizzly delisting public comments that I agreed with, I am against having the grizzlies delisted.
I believe that the current population is too small, even though it has recovered a good amount from the
recovery plan. Also, I believe that the population is too isolated to ensure long term survival. Based on
expert opinion, the current population is about ¼ of what is needed in ... Show more content on

More importantly, the long term health of the grizzlies can be assured by maintaining a population
number of a several thousand. This include expanding their potential living area and connecting the
grizzly bear ecosystems to source populations in Canada. In addition to this, delisting relies on the
importation of bears to address genetic problems. It requires the importation of two bears every ten
years into the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem to address genetic problem. Importing these bears into
the ecosystem is not likely to provide necessary gene flow due to the low success of transplants in
habitat that is already occupied. Also, the delisting plans does not seem to consider the degree and the
pace of habitat change occurring in the region. For example, there is a current loss for whitebark pine
(an important food source for the grizzlies) due to mountain pine beetles, blister rust, and global

The Political Leadership For Ending The Drug War
There hasn t been any real political leadership for ending the drug war from either of the major
political parties. The Republican Party is the most ardent supporter of the drug war, yet it contradicts
some of its main principles. In fact, it s difficult to name another political issue, other than the
legalization of drugs, which would better accomplish the party s goals for reducing government
spending while benefitting the private sector. The Republican Party has somehow successfully
attached itself to the drug war while selling fears of big government and the nanny state. Republicans
tout the virtues of free markets, yet they apparently don t feel those same virtues apply to a free
society. As Gore Vidal once stated, they prefer laissez faire economics over laissez faire values. In
addition, the Republican Party is generally the most vocal with supporting states rights in hopes of
reducing wasteful federal government spending, except in the case where states have legalized
medical or recreational marijuana.
Very few within the Democratic Party have displayed the political courage to challenge the drug war
even though most of their political base would support them. In fact, many Democrats have used the
drug war as a political bargaining chip. Some others have even used the drug war to try to out
conservative the conservatives. That was exactly the case with the Clinton administration. Many
people assumed that Bill Clinton s deflection of his prior drug

Analysis Of The Horizontal World By Marquart
Every part of the country has their own stereotype the west coast has people in bikini and partying non

middle states, on the other hand, get look down because they aren t as incredible and exciting as the
east or west coast. The Midwest really doesn t get mentioned during besides begin tornado territory. In
The Horizontal World by Marquart she explains how the Midwest gets looked down for its dull
appearances while using visuals, allusion, and anecdote to give the reader the sense of the Midwest.
Visual plays a great factor in the passage, Marquarts want to describe how the Midwest gets looked
down. Marquart uses visuals .. through the state of North Dakota, you ll encounter a road so lonely,
treeless and devoid of rising and curves in places that it will feel like a long held pedal steel guitar
note . The visuals are used to print a picture in the reader s mind showing the reader that long rides are
boring and driving through the Midwest is boring because there is nothing to see. She also used a
simile to describe how it just one big long road of nothing. The long guitar note is used to show the
reader that a single note is dull when a single note is playing the audience waits in suspense to find out
what is happening next later to find out nothing going to happen. By focusing on what the visual mean
Marquart is able to how the reader an understanding of what the Midwest means to her as well a in
showing the characteristics of the Midwest.
Allusion adds more to the visual, showing the reader that there is more to what she means. An allusion
is a direct or indirect reference to something which is presumably commonly known, Tv news anchors
often hail from this part of the world.. The reason she adds about the news anchors is that their quiet
boring, she plays around saying all news anchors come from the Midwest which is why they re boring.

about it begin a bit dull. She also wants to point out We are the folk s presidents talk to when times

methodology of fulfilling the Great commission have changed. The Great Commission, found in
Matthew 28:16 20 contain Jesus final words to His disciples. He told them, Therefore, go and make

Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with

the nations being people groups. I always thought of them as geo political divisions. I can actually

Strategic Process
Figure 1 is an illustration of what constitutes the strategic process with each of the stages thoroughly
investigated against internal and external factors of the organization. The formulation stage is critical
in identifying a roadmap for an organization. At this stage, there are usually senior executives or
policy makers. Once their work is complete the strategy is cascaded down for implementation usually
to line managers and public officials in the case of policy decisions who implement according their
understanding and interpretation of the main aims and objectives of the strategy. This second stage of
the strategic process forms the basis for this study.
The last stage of the strategic process is evaluation; an assessment of the ... Show more content on

Further, the more people involved in the formulation could also result in strategies not being
formulated at all as a result of competing interests and ideologies. In this regard, other tools of
involvement should be utilized to ensure that there is at least a general acknowledgement of the core
of the strategy by those who will be affected.
The gap between formulation and implementation is that formulation tends to be done by senior
management and that implementation is left to middle management to execute. For the senior
management, once strategy is set, interest among (them) fall rapidly away, implementation efforts pull
up short, operational behaviours and short term goals take over. The result is suboptimal performance;
strategy becomes a bywork for top management away days. Their disintrest gets lost not only because
they do not want to be involved but also that they lack the knowledge and skill to translate strategy
into action (Freedman: 26). This shortcoming results to their lack of coordination and supervision and
they do not adequately oversee the on going actioning of the plan s recommendations. When it comes
to implementation, top management not only fails to be involved but also does not provide the needed
supporting structures such as communication, resources and managerial support (Simkin: 121 122).
Alashloo, Castka and Sharp (2005) revealed that there are four impeders which play a critical role in
the success or failure of the strategy.

Essay on Steroids in Baseball
Steroids in Baseball
Today in the United States, millions and millions of kids, teens, and adults watch and play in the sport
of baseball. It is probably the number one sport looked upon and what is happening to it is a bit
discouraging. Players have started cheating by using steroids to help them play stronger and better.
They are in league where you have to be the best at what you do to play, and if your using drugs to
cheat your way in, then it ruins the ethics of the game of baseball.

The MLB is just a giant business. How can you see it otherwise? Steroids in baseball have changed
dramatically over the past ten years and a major factor impacting the changes may be players use of
performance enhancing drugs. Do these players not realize that they are cheating? They are putting a
drug into their bodies to make them better then everyone else. In less than four years Babe Ruth s
single season record of 60 home runs has been broken by Sammy Sosa, Mark McGwire and Barry
Bonds. These were three of the players who were faced with a charge of using steroids and notice how
they are three of the top hitters. McGwire just retired too, I think steroid use, and people finding out
had a smidge to do with it. All these players aren t losers, they are all stars and looked upon from all
over and know are being accused of cheating. (Kingsbury)
Today s players are bigger and stronger than the baseball heroes of yesterday and many sports writers
and baseball analysts suspect the reason involves the use of anabolic androgenic steroids. U.S.
lawmakers are considering a national anti steroid policy to discourage players from using illegal
performance enhancing drugs. (Miga) Anabolic androgenic steroids are man made substances related
to male sex hormones. These steroids are used by athletes to artificially raise testosterone levels in the
body. Raising testosterone levels allows the user to train longer and harder, increase

The storage of RAM is expressed in megabytes and its capacity or size limited. An area of RAM set
aside for storage of most frequently accessed information is the CACHE memory. It is a temporary
high speed data holding area between the memory and the central processing unit. RAM has four
parts: the conventional memory which consist of the first 640KB of RAM, used by operating system

Descriptive Essay On Restaurant
After a day of running the cold roads, I knew there was only one place to go that served warm home
style country food anywhere near where I was at; and that is Cracker Barrel. Cracker Barrel is an
inviting restaurant that started in 1969, in Tennessee, that has grown tremendously; however, it still
serves its customers with true southern hospitality. This chain of restaurants tries to gather all things
stereotypically southern in one place hoping to give it customers a taste of it all. This exaggerated old
southern restaurant is a place where families go to relax and play checkers while they wait on their
table or go look at the general store that is located in front of every Cracker Barrel restaurant.
As I walked in on a chilly day, I expected the air to be warm and feel welcomed but that was far from
the truth. The air was cold and the staff was hastily walking around yelling back and forth at one
another trying to organize the general store. The general store has a little bit of everything for
everyone. It has old fashioned candies, toys for all ages, dress up clothes for little kids, regular
everyday clothes for grownups, and seasonal products that rotate in and out. My favorite thing that the
general store over prices is its old fashioned candies; though the price is worth it simply because it is
candy that you cannot find anywhere else.

Neil Shusterman s Unwind
Unwind was a book filled with sass, adventure, and daring escapes. I give it a four point five stars out
of five. The character development was phenomenal and the main female protagonist was great
without being too annoying. But the ending, I feel, was a flop. It was building up to this huge climax
and it just didn t feel that exciting when it happened. Other than the ending being a flop this was a
great book and I feel that more people should read Neil Shusterman s books because his books are
unique from anything else in the YA scene and they will just pull you in from the first sentence. I think

Harrison Ford is a great actor and he s old enough to fit the bill for the Admiral. Harrison Ford is a
grumpy little cinnamon roll in real life so I think he would do good depicting a fictional grumpy
cinnamon roll. The Admiral s third rule is that, my way is the only way (Shusterman 197), and
Harrison Ford s characters all have that sort of vibe and he plays that role quite well. The Admiral
fought in the civil war and has seen the horrors of battle, in this line it says I fought in the Heartland
War. The scars you so impertinently assumed were transplant scars came from a grenade (Shusterman
222). The Heartland War took place many years before the events in the book take place and Harrison
Ford is around the age of seventy two, so it seems like they d be around the same age.
I also really like Logan Lerman as Connor. Even though they screwed up the Percy Jackson movies, I
still really liked Logan Lerman as Percy Jackson and Connor reminded me of Percy Jackson in
mannerism and in looks. When Connor just randomly says nice socks (Shusterman 101), it reminds
me of something Percy would have done. For me, Percy will forever be Logan Lerman so Connor just
ended up looking like Logan Lerman. Connor is described as having brown eyes on the first page and
Logan Lerman has blue eyes but I think that s a miniscule detail. He could always wear contacts if it

How Did Queen Elizabeth 1 Affect Society
Queen Elizabeth I of England was a gracious, inspiring, and witty ruler that, in many ways, changed
the course of history. Her ruling allowed England to flourish, gain wealth, and change in drastic ways.
Queen Elizabeth started her rule in 1583 when she was 25 years old. Prior to Elizabeth becoming
Queen, a terrible ruler made the country of England an unstable country. This ruler was Queen Mary,
who ruled all of England and Ireland in the early 1500 s. During her rule, Mary was not a good queen.
After many years of being a Protestant nation, Queen Mary wanted to return England to its former
ways of Catholicism. However, in order to bring back the Catholic Church, Mary had to persecute
thousands of Christians, which resulted in her gaining ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Queen Elizabeth was ruling the entire country of England without a husband (Chloe H). Her ruling

dominant traits such as strength and intelligance. She always advocated that women could do
anything, despite of their differences (Chloe H). She was living proof that women can be independent,
and that they have the potential to do anything if they set their mind to it. She refused to marry, which
set a great example to all the women of England. Elizabeth, also known as The Virgin Queen , taught
women they do not need a husband to live a good life. During her rule, she inspired many women to
be the intelligent and independent women they were born to be. She once said, Though the sex to
which I belong is considered weak you will nevertheless find me a rock that bends to no wind (Lewis).

Horror of War Exposed in Erich Maria Remarque s All Quiet on the Western Front
Erich Maria Remarque s All Quiet on the Western Front is one of the greatest war novels of all time. It
is a story, not of Germans, but of men, who even though they may have escaped shells, were destroyed
by the war. The entire purpose of this novel is to illustrate the vivid horror and raw nature of war and
to change the popular belief that war has an idealistic and romantic character. The story centers on
Paul Baümer, who enlists in the German army with glowing enthusiasm. In the course of war, though,
he is consumed by it and in the end is weary, broken, burnt out, rootless, and without hope (Remarque

it takes a special kind of soldier a soldier who will not go to pieces at the sight of a mutilated body to

Baümer has grown accustomed to it. War is the cause of death like influenza and dysentery. The
deaths are merely more frequent, more varied and terrible. He has rid himself of all feelings and
thoughts. His emotions lie buried in the earth along with the soldiers who fell prey to them. His
dullness protects him from going mad at the sight of a slaughtered comrade or butchered friend. He
wants to live at all costs so every expression of his life must serve one purpose and one purpose only,
preservation of existence, and he is absolutely focused on that (page #). The cost of life is the death of
his emotions; his survival depends on it. Every shell that falls, every shot that fires, a soldier must face
the possible certainty of death. To Baumer, death carries hand grenades, a bayonet and a rifle to take
away what he has long protected his life.
Whenever he looks into the eyes of an enemy soldier, he does not see a man, but sees death staring
back at him. He has no choice; the enemy cannot and will not coexist with him. It

Self Regulation And Physiological Regulation
Self regulation is necessary for the development of competencies needed for academic and non
academic success. Self regulation and physiological regulation seen in infancy are the foundations for
the development of complex self regulation skills later in life. The maturation of interactions between
physiological and behavioral responses is necessary for the development of self regulation (Shields et
al., 1994). However, effective sensory processing is necessary for physiological regulation and the
development of self regulation as these skills are developed on the basis of the brain s interpretation of
sensory stimuli from the body and environment.

The spatiotemporal proximity of the stimuli also helps the brain to determine the relevancy of two or
more sensory stimuli from different sensory systems and helps to determine if these stimuli originated
from the same event. The stimuli that are perceived to be from the same event are enhanced and sent
to the higher cortical centers for further processing. The relevant stimuli from two or more different
sensory systems are intensified and receive precedence for cortical attention over the sensory stimuli
coming from a single sensory system. On the contrary, the repetitive stimuli from only one sensory
system that are in temporospatial proximity are suppressed (Stein Rowland, 2011). Multisensory
integration studies show that the temporal binding window (a time length during which two relevant
sensory stimuli are combined) for multisensory integration is wider in children with autism than
typical children. The wider temporal binding window could contribute to a distorted sensory
perception observed in children (Stevenson et al., 2014). Children with autism often have concurrent
SPD.
The impairments in sensory gating or multisensory integration influence the individual s perception of
the world and consequently, his/her emotional, behavioral, and motor responses. Impaired sensory
gating and multisensory mechanisms in children with SPD impacts their ability to attend and respond
to the relevant stimuli, and generate

Finding Dory In Disney Pixar
Beloved talk show host Ellen DeGeneres would be reprising her role as the charming yet forgetful fish
Dory in Disney Pixar s Finding Dory animated film, and if there s one thing DeGeneres wants fans to
learn when watching the long awaited sequel to Finding Nemo, then it would have to be the
importance of ocean preservation and valuing the creatures that live in it.
This was what DeGeneres discussed when talking to Yahoo! Movies during the D23 Exposition event
held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.
I think that fish should be in the ocean. It s what this whole sequel is about: It s about rehabilitation
and putting them back in the ocean ... And we have to protect our oceans. Hopefully that discussion

Despite his initial dislike of Dory, Marlin soon grows to appreciate Dory s friendship and the two
make fantastic strides in finding Nemo. In the sequel, the story will focus on Dory and her family as
the forgetful fish struggles to find her roots.
Dory is searching for her parents she realizes she has parents and comes across some characters who
are somewhat helpful, DeGeneres shared.
Some of these characters include Bailey the beluga whale, to be voiced by Modern Family star Ty
Burrell, an angry octopus named Hank voiced by another Modern Family star Ed O Neill. Then there
is a kind hearted whale shark named Destiny, who is the adopted sister of Dory, and she will be voiced
by It s Always Sunny in Philadelphia actress Kaitlin Olson.
Meanwhile, Nemo and his dad Marlin, voiced by Albert Brooks will also return in the sequel, and
other stars who will lend their voices in the animated film include Diane Keaton, Eugene Levy, and
Idris Elba.
It has been 13 years since Finding Nemo hit theaters, but DeGeneres admitted that the hype
surrounding the movie still has not died down, with several of her friends often requesting that the talk
show host share her voice as Dory (and her interspecies jabber) to entertain their

Miranda Rights in Our Legal System Essay
Does the Miranda Rights benefit the defendant too much where as the courts throw out voluntary
confessions? The Fifth Amendment clearly states No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or
otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases
arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia. (U.S Constitution Fifth Amendment) When
arresting citizens, officers must inform the individual of his or her rights or the statement that was said
will be disregarded in the court of law. (U.S. Gov Info/Miranda: Right of Silence) These rights are
called Miranda rights which protect citizens of the U.S. from self incrimination. (See cases Miranda v

Cassell also states that crime has increase after the Miranda laws were inforced from the years 1950
1965 he says police officers solve crimes about 60% of the time but fell dramatically. According to
Cassell about 70,000 cases each year become unsolved because of Miranda and criminals are set free
to commit crimes again. The two court cases that still has litigation over till this day is the Dickerson
v. United States, 530 U.S. 428 (2000) and Miranda v Arizona, 384 U.S. 436 (1966) The problem or
issue is that when is a statement from a defendant coerced or voluntary? One of the things that
produce the Miranda rule was the difficulty of determining whether a statement is voluntary or
coerced. Stephen Sharpio says that the courts were required to look at whole range of factors to decide
whether or not the confession was voluntary. The courts say that they will continue to look for the
truth in all cases and give juries all reliable evidence to make the decision. Here are two key cases that
shocked the world in their reversed decisions to throw out confessional evidence and to give a new
trial. Miranda v Arizona, 384 U.S. 436 (1966 )In the Miranda v Arizona case the defendant made
statements in custodial interrogation that violated his Fifth and Sixth Amendment Rights. The
defendant wasn t told his rights and

PHYSICAL EXAMINATION: Vital signs are WNL. Apparently he has had no chills, night sweats, or
favors. Generalized malaise and a lack of energy have been the main concerns. HEART: Regular rate
and rhythm with S1 and S2. No S3 or S4 is heard at this time. LUNGS: Bilateral rhonchi. No
significant amphoric sounds are noted. ABDOMON: Soft nontender. No hepatosplenomegaly or
masses are detected. RECTAL EXAM: Prostate smooth and firm. No stool is present for hemoccult
test.
DIAGNOSIS: Hemoptysis with history of tuberculosis.
PLAN: I have reviewed the chest x rays available here and agree with the finding of bleb formation in
the right and left upper lobes. Despite the fact that the patient has had a high INR, because of his
history of tuberculosis and hemoptysis I believe obtaining sputum for TB is very, very important. We
should rule out any other endobronchial lesions as the cause for his bleeding. I have discussed this
matter with the patient and his wife. I have told them that there is the possibility of observing the
condition by x rays and repeated tests of his sputum. They understand that this is an option; however,
they decided that because of concern regarding his repeated hemoptysis, they would consent to
bronchoscopy. We will arrange for the patient to have a bronchoscopy done. He is off Coumadin.

Poetry as a Reflection of The Inner Being
Alfred Tennyson gifted the Victorian Era, and the literary world with two iconic poems. The author
explored the themes of personal development and culture clash in one of his most famous poems,
Ulysses . Tennyson also discovered and analyzed the themes of love and death through his renowned
and eminent poem, Tears Idle, Tears . The poet was born in Somersby, Lincolnshire in 1809 in the East
Lindy district of England. Tennyson experienced numerous amounts of difficulties in his childhood
and growing adolescent phases that spilled into his adult life. These trials and tribulations became a
foundation and source of inspiration for Tennyson, who used them as a stimulus and catalyst to aide
his literary progress and ideas. Two of the most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thirdly, although Tennyson was engaged to Emily Sell wood...the condition of his health resulted in
their separation (Napierkowski and Rose 273). The poet is unable to maintain relationships even with
his fiancé, which drives him to dissect the ideas of love and death in his poems. But the negative
brought a sliver of positive, without the anguish at the loss of a friend, Tennyson would have never
written...his greatest poem (Padgett 93). This validates that the author s life experiences contributed to
his writings, and were implanted into his tone, themes, words and stylistic decisions. His characters
can also be seen as a mirror reflection of Tennyson s deeper and underlying being.
Overall Tennyson was a perfect mold to the ideals and thoughts of society in the Victorian Era. He
opposed the new scientific knowledge that created a drift from traditionalism. He was rooted in the old
style, organic beliefs that the Victorian era was ferociously trying to preserve, as new technology and
scientific inventions and theories were being developed. The Victorian era was characterized by many
qualities such as smugness, narrow mindedness, bourgeoisie, materialism, faith in social progress and
priggish morality (Galens 380). Society maintained a sense of pride and confidence in themselves.
These ideals can be witnessed in Tennyson s poems which are a ...typical example of Victorian
smugness (Bloom 20). A sense of smugness is also paralleled

Narwhal Poem
Narwhal
The ocean was still and smooth, like a black mirror reflecting ivory clouds and cyan shadows. In it, a
pale blue whale of immense size surfaced and swam gently, like a dropping tear on a cheek.
All the misery from around the world was drawn to the sea and formed its ripples. The whale
swallowed the grief silently, from the northeast to the southwest, and the world was quiet and
peaceful.
Over time, the whale could no longer bear and hold the sorrows inside his body. The pain transformed
and twisted into a long, grey tooth; it pierced through his forehead like a unicorn s horn.
One day, people saw this anguished whale from the shore. They were amazed by a creature they had
never seen before. They gazed at his splendid horn, and a strong greed grew inside of their hearts.
People took boats, wood, and anything that could let them float. They surrounded the whale and
trapped him, but the whale was too huge to be carried. So, they used thick ropes to hitch his head, ...

The ocean was angry. It continued to move restlessly; it swept and devoured numerous lives. Humans,
however, were ignorant of the change.
Now, the horn hung in the centre of the city. People took pride in it and cheered, never knowing that it
was the pain of the whale.
Time passed by. A sailor was drowning in the fierce ocean from shipwreck. He struggled and tried to
stay afloat, but desperation and death were stronger than him. When he was ready to give, he saw an
island a short distance away. With his last ounce of strength, he swam to the island and pulled himself
onto the beach. He lay prone on the sand, and couldn t believe that he was still alive.
When he lifted his head up, the forest soughed in the breeze. The subtle comfort slowed his breath and
brought him an inner peace he had never felt before.
The sailor didn t know that the magnificent whale s body had floated up from the bottom of the sea
and transformed, creating the island that was now his

The Effect Of The Arab Spring On The Muslim Brotherhood
In this paper, I will be explaining the concept of revolution, its definition, and application in Egypt and
Tunisia. I will further discuss the achievement that took place since the revolutions in both countries
and finally will conclude by demonstrating the effect of the Arab spring on the Muslim brotherhood.
Revolution tend to occur when the basic needs of a population are not met by its government, when
there is a violation of basic human rights, when there is no hope, when people are oppressed, when
people are at some sort of disadvantage.
According to Steven Pincus, in Rethinking Revolution: a New Tocquevillian Perspective, revolution
can be defined as a rapid, judgmental and violent domestic change in the dominant values and myths
of a society, in its political institutions, social structures, leadership, and government activities and
policies . It is a fundamental change in power: a violent movement to overthrow an existing regime
that results in major changes in the society. Revolutions have occurred throughout history, but its
purpose, duration and method have varied from one country to the other.
No one would have ever thought that there would be an uprising in Egypt against autocratic rule, as
rulers of Egypt were smart dictators who knew well enough how to control their people. The regime
itself provided the calendar day for the day of Rage , where all sectors of the society were
participating. It started on January 25th as a medium size demonstration but

Appeals to Women
Most advertisers use different appeals to create stereotypes about their audiences because people often
buy magazines which fit the stereotypes they make about themselves. For example, people who
always read Newsweek are mostly people who are at work, who are economically stable, and who are
interested in the world situation. On the other hand, the audiences of Shape are mostly young women
who are interested in reducing their weights or shaping up. In Jib Fowles essay, Advertising s Fifteen
Basic Appeals, he discusses the fifteen emotional appeals that are often seen in many advertisements.

Also, the copies of Splendor fetch audiences attention by appealing to their longing for romance and
affections. The ad of True Love also appeals to sexuality by showing a woman with a drowsy
expression in a lying down position. The second appeal I found is the need for autonomy, the need to
credit the self. The three ads about women s suits, glassware, and make up are great examples. An ad
of women s suit has five women in five different gray suits who look competent. The catch phrase
says, Let em know who you are. The other ad of glassware shows a beautiful white woman in a white
blouse with glasses. She has her blond hair put up, and she is reading a paper. The copy on the upper
left corner reads, Endless Possibilities. The third ad of Maybelline s foundation cake also has a white
woman wearing white blouse with her hair up. All of these three ads have women who look aspired,
intellectual, and independent. These ads strike women s strong need to become the way they want, and
to endorse themselves. These appeals are effective in persuading women to buy the products by giving
women illusions that they will look sexy or independent just like the women in the ads if they buy the
products.
By finding the appeals advertisers use, one can tell how the advertisers view the

Adolf Hitler And The Nazi Rule
In the year 1939 World War Two came into play and chaos had erupted all across Europe. The war had
lasted for over 6 years and during that time period, and Hitler had made his mark in trying to eradicate
the Jews from existence and almost succeeded in his goal. The Jews were like a wrong answer to a
question and that Hitler could use an eraser to get rid of the mistakes. Hitler was gaining power as he
was reviving the Germans from the Great Depression and ending their suffering by solving all of their
woeful problems. He had gained a plentiful amount of popularity and eventually became the dictator
or Fuhrer of Germany through his revival of Germany. He and his Nazi army began the quest to take

No interference meant Hitler can achieve his goal in creating an ultimate German empire, and wiping
the Jews from the face of the earth. The very existence of the Jewish race depended on the help of
others. The Jews cannot go in this battle alone and the people grasped this. They know that they have
to do something, anything to help stop the occupation. Although the fear of a Nazi takeover in Europe
was strong many people risked their lives to for those who were incapable to fight themselves.
Through terror stricken hearts as the Nazis were attaining more control over Europe, the people of the
world still strived to make a stand and warn the Jews of the Nazi advancements. Trying to escape a
deadly force such as the Nazis is a difficult task to do especially if a person is going out on their own.
Though it often appeared that no one wished to help the victims in need, and that everyone has turned
completely against them there are those who willingly go out on a limb to help save the Jews; such as
the Poles, Chinese, Germans, Dutch, Americans, and Jews from neighboring villages who may not
may not witness the massacres of other Jewish lives. The people of the world still cared but were
extremely cautious. They knew for a fact that if they were to help aid the Jews in any way they put
themselves in jeopardy of being killed, or sent to a concentration camp to work as slaves until they die
from all the different variables. Variables such

Coming off or going on certain medication to reduce or eliminate bruxism is not an immediate

not enough evidence to suggest medication is the cause of bruxism. Taking medications to treat certain

  • 2. A Tale Of Two Cities Chapter 3 Essay The following extract from chapter three is an example of how the supernatural and the scientific are continuously contrasting in the novel: In your opinion there is a diabolical agency which makes Dartmoor an unsafe abode for a Baskerville that is your opinion? At least I might go the length of saying that there is some evidence that this may be so. Exactly. But surely, if your supernatural theory be correct, it could work the young man evil in London as easily as in Devonshire. A devil ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this part, he shows incredulity and thinks that such thing must be the work of something supernatural. Watson s comparison of Holmes and the people living in the Dartmoor enhances again this contrast between the city detective who appeals more to science and the superstitious servants that give paranormal meanings to the howl of a dog. A contradiction with Watson s ideas can also be seen in this extract. He first claims to have common sense and that is what makes him deny the existence of the hound, but then after reflecting on what he had heard, he justifies this saying that facts are facts and this generates doubts and confusion in his mind. It is important to notice how Doyle develops a mysterious and frightening scene in our minds the moment we imagine how terrifying must be to hear such sound that even Watson, another man of science, starts to doubt about the existence of this enigmatic and evil ... • 3. Crime And Juvenile And Adult Crimes In today s criminal justice system in the United States, there is a lot of dispute between what the qualifications are for juvenile and adult crimes. Some believe that the only difference is age. Others say it is the severity of the crime. It s obvious that when adults commit crimes, whether they are a misdemeanor offense or a felony, they pay for it. The confliction comes when a juvenile commits a crime. What exactly determines if they are tried as an adult or a juvenile? Does it vary by state to state? Are there federal laws that govern that debate? There have been cases where children have been tried in a court of law as an adult. So what exactly is the clear cut reason why juveniles are tired sometimes as adults, and other times as juveniles? So what exactly is a crime to begin with? According to dictionary.com, crime is defined as an action or an instance of negligence that is deemed injurious to the public welfare or morals or to the interests of the state and that is legally prohibited. (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/crime?s=t). People of all ages commit a crime. The crimes that people commit can range from shoplifting to murder. But what happens when a juvenile commits one of these crimes? First, let s cover what a juvenile is. According to (http://www.hg.org/juvenile crime law.html), Minors under the age of 18 years, who commit a crime, or otherwise violate established rules and statutes, are identified as juvenile delinquents, juvenile offenders, ... • 4. Jenny Durra Character Analysis Analyzation of Jenny Curran: Trait and Psychodynamic Theories Looking at Psychodynamic areas in Jenny Curran s life, it is easy to see where the root of her problems lie and how she grew into such a troubled young woman. Whether she realized it at any stage of her life or not, Jenny s experiences as a little girl followed her for the rest of her life. After her mother s death when she was only a little girl of five years old, she unfortunately lives with her alcoholic father in Greenbow, Alabama. Her dad sexually and physically assaults her and her two equally unfortunate siblings during the course of their troubled childhood. In an innocent and desperate attempt to run away from her dad s alcohol induced stupors, she and Forrest hide nearby ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was not uncommon that she found herself confused, wondering why she was dealt the cards given to her and dwelling on why it was so hard for her to just disappear to a new place she didn t know. Since Jenny s childhood was plagued by physical and sexual abuse from her drunken father, the police whisked her away to coincide along with her grandmother during her teenage youth. The pain and torture would nevertheless make an imprint upon her personality and make her the perfect example of the psychodynamic theory. Upon a return visit to Greenbow, Alabama, Jenny sees her father s abandoned house and is given an unhappy reminder of her abusive past. It was her unhealthy home life that likely caused her to go astray, searching for the love and nurturing she never received as a child. Her vulnerability as a child translated into pain and destruction as an adult. Jenny traveled down a road to nowhere in her many pursuits, she had no goals or final destination in mind. She lived by the seat of her pants. She led a whimsical, spontaneous life, but somewhere down the road she got lost. Jenny was often confused and ran away from her true happiness. Jenny didn t care where the road or more explicitly, life took her. For example, after an anti Vietnam rally in Washington, D.C., Jenny once again abandons Forrest and hitches a ride from a random truck ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Universal Human Rights framework. Ensuring the right to adequate food and consequently the right to be free form hunger is specifically enshrined in a number of Human Rights instruments. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On May 12,1999 the UN Committee on Economic, Social and cultural Rights f its General Comment 12th Observes, Fundamentally the roots of the problem of hunger and malnutrition are not lack of food but lack of access to available food, inter alia because of poverty, by large segments of world s population. The General comment 12 identified that the fundamental distinction need to be made is between availability and access. The General Comment 12 defined the right to adequate food thus; The right to adequate food is realized when every man, woman and child, alone or in community with others, has physical and economic access at all times to adequate food or means for its procurement. [6] The General Comment also explain that adequacy means that access must be taken of what is appropriate under given circumstances Food Security implies food being accessible for both and future generations. Thus as explained in paragraph 8 the core content of the right to adequate food implies the availability of food in adequate quantity and quality sufficient to satisfy the needs of individuals[7]. In 2000 the UN Millennium /declaration adopted at the largest ever gathering heads of states, committed countries, rich and poor to do all they could do to eradicate poverty, promote human dignity and equality and achieve peace,

  • 7. My Reflection Of Me I don t know about you, but I don t often star at myself in the mirror, studying my own face. Does anybody? The longest amount of time I spend looking at myself is when I m shaving, and even then, I m just concentrating on not being a klutz and cutting myself open. I m not being down on myself or looking for attention or any such nonsense like that. I mean, I don t even have a Facebook. It s just that, gazing upon my reflection is just not something I do. I get out of the shower, I shave, brush my teeth, and I m gone, on to whatever the day has in store for me. Another thing I m not used to is the clarity of the face. I should back up a moment, so you understand. I have, for the better part of a month, been having a recurring dream that unsettles me. In it, I am staring at myself in a mirror and it is devoid of the dream quality one expects from the images in their brain. In dreams, whenever I see someone who is supposed to be me or someone I have known for years, the face is different, sometimes subtly, other times it is completely different. But in this mirror, in this reflection that comes through in my reverie, it is my face, perfectly so, no blur or changes or oddly shaped parts. The eyes are the same dull blue that they ve always been, my nose, slightly long but not weirdly so, although there is a curve at the bridge where I broke it falling from my bike when I was twelve. My ears are normal looking, my eyebrows a tad bushy but otherwise fine with no unibrow, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Causes Of Carbon Dioxide And Planeting Earth s... Carbon Dioxide emissions are destroying earth s environment, minute by minute. Humans play a big part in the addition to the carbon in the air. Every car on the road produces carbon dioxide into the air, as well as the factories worked in, also release carbon dioxide. However, nature also contributes to the increase of carbon dioxide. Wildfires are an attribute to greenhouse gas in the air that is almost uncontrollable by humans. When acres of land is burned, the smoke releases carbon dioxide into the air. Carbon Dioxide takes over the oxygen levels that humans need in order to live and breath. Carbon Dioxide is a gas that is absorbed from the air through plants during the process of photosynthesis. Trees are important in the regulation of greenhouse gas in the atmosphere. A newspaper article, The New York Times, states, Wildfires also release carbon dioxide, one of the main drivers of climate change, and reduce the number of trees available to absorb carbon dioxide, a double whammy for the atmosphere (Schlossberg). Trees and forests help maintain the level of this gas, by releasing oxygen and absorbing carbon dioxide. Unfortunately, wildfires interrupt the receiving of carbon dioxide. When a forest catches on fire, the substance that absorbs the greenhouse gases are burned down. Not only are the wildfires releasing millions of metric tons of carbon dioxide, there is no longer a product to take in the toxic gas. Therefore, more greenhouse gases are released than absorbed, ... Flash lost his mother when he was child and he has carried that weight throughout his life.Until one day he could not handle it. His entire life is a series of unfortunate events and it broke him. He used the power he was granted to go back in time to save his mothers life. This caused a time boom. History itself changed. Bruce Wayne died in the ally 20 years ago instead of his parents so batman is Thomas Wayne. Atlanteans and Amazoneans are at war. The World is in WWIII. The Justice Leagues meet up and team up was more absurd and unplanned as it is normally Batman who brings the team together. It starts off with a few panned attacks in multiple cities. The Gaurdians(boss of green lanterns which are basically galactc police) send Hal Jordan to investigate the attacks since Earth is his homeworld. • 10. Grizzly Bear Recovery Case Study Chris Servheen, the Grizzly Bear Recovery Coordinator for the US Fish and Wildlife Service, has said that the grizzly bears have met every criteria set forth towards their recovery plan. Since meeting these criteria, it may be time to have them removed from the Endangered Species List (delisted). Delisting means that the bears won t be protected by the Endangered Species Act (ESA). As it can be seen from the grizzly delisting public comments that I agreed with, I am against having the grizzlies delisted. I believe that the current population is too small, even though it has recovered a good amount from the recovery plan. Also, I believe that the population is too isolated to ensure long term survival. Based on expert opinion, the current population is about ¼ of what is needed in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... More importantly, the long term health of the grizzlies can be assured by maintaining a population number of a several thousand. This include expanding their potential living area and connecting the grizzly bear ecosystems to source populations in Canada. In addition to this, delisting relies on the importation of bears to address genetic problems. It requires the importation of two bears every ten years into the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem to address genetic problem. Importing these bears into the ecosystem is not likely to provide necessary gene flow due to the low success of transplants in habitat that is already occupied. Also, the delisting plans does not seem to consider the degree and the pace of habitat change occurring in the region. For example, there is a current loss for whitebark pine (an important food source for the grizzlies) due to mountain pine beetles, blister rust, and global ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. The Political Leadership For Ending The Drug War There hasn t been any real political leadership for ending the drug war from either of the major political parties. The Republican Party is the most ardent supporter of the drug war, yet it contradicts some of its main principles. In fact, it s difficult to name another political issue, other than the legalization of drugs, which would better accomplish the party s goals for reducing government spending while benefitting the private sector. The Republican Party has somehow successfully attached itself to the drug war while selling fears of big government and the nanny state. Republicans tout the virtues of free markets, yet they apparently don t feel those same virtues apply to a free society. As Gore Vidal once stated, they prefer laissez faire economics over laissez faire values. In addition, the Republican Party is generally the most vocal with supporting states rights in hopes of reducing wasteful federal government spending, except in the case where states have legalized medical or recreational marijuana. Very few within the Democratic Party have displayed the political courage to challenge the drug war even though most of their political base would support them. In fact, many Democrats have used the drug war as a political bargaining chip. Some others have even used the drug war to try to out conservative the conservatives. That was exactly the case with the Clinton administration. Many people assumed that Bill Clinton s deflection of his prior drug ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Analysis Of The Horizontal World By Marquart Every part of the country has their own stereotype the west coast has people in bikini and partying non stop, east coast is where all the famous movie stars hang out and Arizona is where cowboys are. The middle states, on the other hand, get look down because they aren t as incredible and exciting as the east or west coast. The Midwest really doesn t get mentioned during besides begin tornado territory. In The Horizontal World by Marquart she explains how the Midwest gets looked down for its dull appearances while using visuals, allusion, and anecdote to give the reader the sense of the Midwest. Visual plays a great factor in the passage, Marquarts want to describe how the Midwest gets looked down. Marquart uses visuals .. through the state of North Dakota, you ll encounter a road so lonely, treeless and devoid of rising and curves in places that it will feel like a long held pedal steel guitar note . The visuals are used to print a picture in the reader s mind showing the reader that long rides are boring and driving through the Midwest is boring because there is nothing to see. She also used a simile to describe how it just one big long road of nothing. The long guitar note is used to show the reader that a single note is dull when a single note is playing the audience waits in suspense to find out what is happening next later to find out nothing going to happen. The Great Commission, found in Matthew 28:16 20 contain Jesus final words to His disciples. He told them, Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Before taking this course, I never understood the concept of the nations being people groups. I always thought of them as geo political divisions. Strategic Process Figure 1 is an illustration of what constitutes the strategic process with each of the stages thoroughly investigated against internal and external factors of the organization. The formulation stage is critical in identifying a roadmap for an organization. At this stage, there are usually senior executives or policy makers. Once their work is complete the strategy is cascaded down for implementation usually to line managers and public officials in the case of policy decisions who implement according their understanding and interpretation of the main aims and objectives of the strategy. Further, the more people involved in the formulation could also result in strategies not being formulated at all as a result of competing interests and ideologies. In this regard, other tools of involvement should be utilized to ensure that there is at least a general acknowledgement of the core of the strategy by those who will be affected. The gap between formulation and implementation is that formulation tends to be done by senior management and that implementation is left to middle management to execute. For the senior management, once strategy is set, interest among (them) fall rapidly away, implementation efforts pull up short, operational behaviours and short term goals take over. The result is suboptimal performance; strategy becomes a bywork for top management away days. Their disintrest gets lost not only because they do not want to be involved but also that they lack the knowledge and skill to translate strategy into action (Freedman: 26). This shortcoming results to their lack of coordination and supervision and they do not adequately oversee the on going actioning of the plan s recommendations. When it comes to implementation, top management not only fails to be involved but also does not provide the needed supporting structures such as communication, resources and managerial support (Simkin: 121 122). It is probably the number one sport looked upon and what is happening to it is a bit discouraging. Players have started cheating by using steroids to help them play stronger and better. They are in league where you have to be the best at what you do to play, and if your using drugs to cheat your way in, then it ruins the ethics of the game of baseball. Steroids in baseball have changed dramatically over the past ten years and a major factor impacting the changes may be players use of performance enhancing drugs. In less than four years Babe Ruth s single season record of 60 home runs has been broken by Sammy Sosa, Mark McGwire and Barry Bonds. Descriptive Essay On Restaurant After a day of running the cold roads, I knew there was only one place to go that served warm home style country food anywhere near where I was at; and that is Cracker Barrel. Cracker Barrel is an inviting restaurant that started in 1969, in Tennessee, that has grown tremendously; however, it still serves its customers with true southern hospitality. This chain of restaurants tries to gather all things stereotypically southern in one place hoping to give it customers a taste of it all. This exaggerated old southern restaurant is a place where families go to relax and play checkers while they wait on their table or go look at the general store that is located in front of every Cracker Barrel restaurant. As I walked in on a chilly day, I expected the air to be warm and feel welcomed but that was far from the truth. The air was cold and the staff was hastily walking around yelling back and forth at one another trying to organize the general store. The general store has a little bit of everything for everyone. It has old fashioned candies, toys for all ages, dress up clothes for little kids, regular everyday clothes for grownups, and seasonal products that rotate in and out. Horror of War Exposed in Erich Maria Remarque s All Quiet on the Western Front Erich Maria Remarque s All Quiet on the Western Front is one of the greatest war novels of all time. It is a story, not of Germans, but of men, who even though they may have escaped shells, were destroyed by the war. The entire purpose of this novel is to illustrate the vivid horror and raw nature of war and to change the popular belief that war has an idealistic and romantic character. Self regulation and physiological regulation seen in infancy are the foundations for the development of complex self regulation skills later in life. The maturation of interactions between physiological and behavioral responses is necessary for the development of self regulation (Shields et al., 1994). The relevant stimuli from two or more different sensory systems are intensified and receive precedence for cortical attention over the sensory stimuli coming from a single sensory system. On the contrary, the repetitive stimuli from only one sensory system that are in temporospatial proximity are suppressed (Stein Rowland, 2011). Multisensory integration studies show that the temporal binding window (a time length during which two relevant sensory stimuli are combined) for multisensory integration is wider in children with autism than typical children. The wider temporal binding window could contribute to a distorted sensory perception observed in children (Stevenson et al., 2014). Children with autism often have concurrent SPD. I will further discuss the achievement that took place since the revolutions in both countries and finally will conclude by demonstrating the effect of the Arab spring on the Muslim brotherhood. Revolution tend to occur when the basic needs of a population are not met by its government, when there is a violation of basic human rights, when there is no hope, when people are oppressed, when people are at some sort of disadvantage. It is a fundamental change in power: a violent movement to overthrow an existing regime that results in major changes in the society. Hitler was gaining power as he was reviving the Germans from the Great Depression and ending their suffering by solving all of their woeful problems. He had gained a plentiful amount of popularity and eventually became the dictator or Fuhrer of Germany through his revival of Germany. He and his Nazi army began the quest to take back what they lost in the previous World ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... No interference meant Hitler can achieve his goal in creating an ultimate German empire, and wiping the Jews from the face of the earth. The very existence of the Jewish race depended on the help of others. The Jews cannot go in this battle alone and the people grasped this. They know that they have to do something, anything to help stop the occupation. Although the fear of a Nazi takeover in Europe was strong many people risked their lives to for those who were incapable to fight themselves. Through terror stricken hearts as the Nazis were attaining more control over Europe, the people of the world still strived to make a stand and warn the Jews of the Nazi advancements. Trying to escape a deadly force such as the Nazis is a difficult task to do especially if a person is going out on their own. Though it often appeared that no one wished to help the victims in need, and that everyone has turned completely against them there are those who willingly go out on a limb to help save the Jews; such as the Poles, Chinese, Germans, Dutch, Americans, and Jews from neighboring villages who may not may not witness the massacres of other Jewish lives. The people of the world still cared but were extremely cautious. They knew for a fact that if they were to help aid the Jews in any way they put themselves in jeopardy of being killed, or sent to a concentration camp to work as slaves until they die from all the different variables. • 32. Case Studies on Cardiac Function Case Studies on Cardiac Function Case 1 A.O. is an 89 year old woman with a long history of systolic heart failure secondary to a large left ventricular infarct when she was in her 70s. She had poor activity tolerance and required assistance with activities of daily living. Even minimal activity was associated with moderately severe dyspnea and exertional chest pain, which was relieved by rest. A.O. also exhibited marked pedal edema bilaterally. She is being treated with digitalis, furosemide (Lasix), KCl, and sublingual nitroglycerin. Discussion Questions 1. Which type of heart failure (left or right sided) is usually associated with dyspnea? Left sided What other clinical findings are likely to be present with ... What changes in cardiac enzymes would be consistent with a diagnosis of MI? TROPONINS Markers of choice. Elevated between 4 and 6 hours after the onset of an acute MI and remains elevated for 8 12 days. MYOGLOBIN Levels rise between 1 to 4 hours after the onset of chest pain. Highly sensitive. CREATINE KINASE comprises of three isoenzymes. 1. Creatine kinase with muscle subunits (CK MM), which is found mainly in skeletal muscle. 2. Creatine kinase with brain subunits (CK BB), predominantly found in the brain. 3. Myocardial muscle creatine kinase (CK MB), found mainly in the heart. *CK MB levels increase within 3 to 12 hours of onset of chest pain. *Reach peak within 24 hours, and return to baseline after 48 to 72 hours. *Levels peak earlier if perfusion occurs. *Sensitivity is approximately 95%, with very high specificity. 3. What is the most common pathophysiologic precipitating event for ACS? What differentiates USA from MI?

  • 34. Benzodiazepines Antidepression Essay Benzodiazepines include anticonvulsant drugs (tested in the study) and antidepression and anxiety drugs (medications my patient was on specifically Xanax) However to perfectly match the study to the clinical problem, Cerebral Palsy patients taking Xanax could be measured against Cerebral Palsy patient not taking any medication plus a control group of normal individuals. The definitions used in the study were similar to the PICO research term. The health care system in the study was in Brazil therefor not that similar to the patient as described in the clinical problem. Perhaps a study done in Australia or Sydney would further strengthen the relevance to the clinical question. Ages in the study were slightly younger than the patient that presented to the SCU, to further improve the association with the clinical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this study, Benzodiazepines presented lower presence of teeth grinding compared with those administered baributues. Both these observations support the idea that the main mechanism of Bruxism in Cerebral palsy patients may not be similar to that which occur in normal individuals Coming off or going on certain medication to reduce or eliminate bruxism is not an immediate decision to be made in regard to tooth grinding. Few studies have been conducted therefore there is not enough evidence to suggest medication is the cause of bruxism. Taking medications to treat certain conditions far outweighs the need to go off these medications to reduce bruxism when other treatment can be considered. Advice must be given to patient and parent about tooth grinding and clenching and can include that the drugs may (but not certainly) have an effect on this. Its important to discuss implementation of other intervention strategies before going on or off any ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
