The Role Of Ethical Issues In Nursing
To Immunize or Not To Immunize, That Is the Ethical Question
An Ethical Introduction
Aldo Leopold said Ethical behavior is doing the right thing when no one else is watching even
when doing the wrong thing is legal . As healthcare providers, our patients place a great deal of
trust in us to practice ethical medicine (Battie, 2015, p. 505). We, as nurses, have access to
intimate parts of patient s lives, and are looked upon to help educate patients in their decisions
towards appropriate healthcare. Guided by a code of ethics, nurses serve to protect, prevent and
avoid ethical harm to patients, while having the responsibility to strive for better preventative
healthcare as opposed to illness centered care (Kangasniemi, Pakkanen, Korhonen, ... Show more

Justice is described as treating everyone fairly (Finkelman Kenner, 2016, p. 175). One could
interpret this as either everyone is vaccinated or none at all. But how do we separate those who
refuse even mandatory requirements. We do not shame others for not washing their hands or not
covering their months when they cough (Kaplan, 2015, p. 15). Why would we treat those choosing
to not be immunized any different? We would only cause them to retreat into other avenues of
schooling, employment or even healthcare. What then is the answer?
The truth then becomes the vital role in the argument, whichever way the argument may lean.
Veracity or truth, as the four ethical principle, becomes the deciding factor. Parents and patients
alike are undereducated and overwhelmed. With the misinformation on the internet and the
misguidance of friends and family, it becomes easily confusing to determine the right approach to
immunizing children and even ourselves. Fully informing patients of the benefits and potential side
effects allows them the make educated if not informed decisions on their healthcare and overall
wellbeing.

Anterograde Amnesia Research Paper
Anterograde Amnesia is the inability to store new information after the brain damage has occurred.
(Luke Mastin 2010). Anterograde Amnesia is very rare, in fact there have a few cases where the
amnesia was pure . The symptoms and hardship of the person depend on the cause for the memory
loss. Some symptoms of Anterograde Amnesiaare partial memory loss, having a hard time
recognizing relatives or family, feeling of confusion, difficulty taking in new information, inability
to remember familiar places, and difficulty in learning and remembering new things.(PHC Editorial

This movie accurately shows us that Dory has Anterograde Amnesia. One specific scene where
this disorder is displayed is in the beginning when Dory s parents are telling her what to say
when she meets someone ( I suffer from short term memory loss). After this the parents act as if
they are random people and start playing hide and seek. When the parents tell her to count to 10,
she counts up to 3 and forgets what they are doing. She then wanders off to a group of fish and
their parents immediately chase after her. This scene accurately displays Anterograde Amnesia
since it shows us that Dory is unable to remember what is going on and then wanders off
elsewhere. Another scene where the disorder is displayed is when Dory can t remember where
her parents are as a result of accidentally losing them and then Dory asks a couple of fishes that
she needs help finding them, but forgets what she said and repeats the same thing again. This
shows that Dory s short term memory loss or Anterograde Amnesia causes her to forget where
her parents are and even makes herself look awkward when repeating a question that she already
asked. A third example of Dory displaying that she has Anterograde Amnesia is when she is
sleeping and then gets up to ask one of her friends a question but is said to go back to bed. When
she goes back to bed she decides to go ask a question not knowing she already said it

Societal Views of Women in the Victorian Era in Henrik...
Societal Views of Women in the Victorian Era in Henrik Ibsen s A Doll s House
A Doll s House, by Henrik Ibsen, creates a peephole into the lives of a family in the Victorian
Era. The play portrays a female viewpoint in a male dominated society. The values of the society
are described using the actions of a woman, Nora, who rebels against the injustices inflicted upon
her gender. Women s equality with men was not recognized by society in the late 1800 s. Rather, a
woman was considered a doll, a child, and a servant. Nora s alienation reveals society s
assumptions and values about gender.
A woman was considered by society to be a doll because she was expected to be subordinate to her
husband s whims. Referring to a ball that she ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She alludes to a child s character when she says, everything I think of seems so silly and
insignificant (26). Torvald replies with a condescending statement: Does my little Nora
acknowledge that at last? (26). Torvald expects only childish talk from her. He even tells her she
is little, like a child, and although he expects nothing more than child s talk from her, he does
expect to be obeyed.
Nora plays the part of a slave in her subservience to her husband, for she is supposed to abide by
his rules and be dependent on him. She is not supposed to think for herself and repeatedly told
so by those around her. When speaking about Nora in her presence, Torvald says, She is so
terribly self willed (55). Nora has a conversation with Mrs. Linde, who also tells her, Don t be
self willed (57). Torvald tells her, I will advise you and direct you (64). Nora is expected to be a
dependent slave who follows her husband s advice and directions. Women were also legally
dependent upon men. The society s laws of that time even required the male to cosign everything
that a woman had to sign. Nora s naivete in forging her father s signature and trying to pay off the
loan further emphasizes Victorian society s assumptions about women s inability to deal with a
man s world.
These assumptions about women caused their gender value to be vastly

Essay Comparing Spinney And Native Son, By Richard Wright
Robert G. Spinney, writer of City of Big Shoulders A History of Chicago, and Richard Wright,
writer of Native Son, cover the division in the city of Chicago. Spinney takes a look at the history
of Chicago and how it has always been divided. This intern will evolve, creating a pattern as
Chicago becomes a bigger more diverse city. While Wright shows the sociological basis of a
person, and how it affects their identity. The identity in a person then effecting how that person
might not see events that does not affect them directly. The two go to show, how the birth of a
person, along with when a person is born, affects how they are treated, and how they treat others.
Spinney and Wright explore division, the former through patterns of division and the later through
iterations of blindness.

Wright further explores iterations of blindness through situational unawareness. During the
discussion of division, Wright explains how [Bigger s family] wanted and yearend to see life in

Advantages Of Voluntourism
Reading Between the Lines Voluntourism Topic tourism: Should Voluntourism trips be
discouraged? It is not uncommon to see on Facebook selfies taken by youths with village
children some half naked some fully naked. Teaching English in Schools, building a basketball
court, painting beautiful murals on the walls of new schools and distributing food and healthcare
packs to the villages are some activities that are commonly included in the itinerary of such
Voluntourism trips. In the recent years, there are a growing number of youths who take a gap year
to volunteer overseas. Voluntourism can be defined as a form of tourism in which travelers
participate in voluntary work to help communities or the environment in the places they are
visiting (dictionary.com). In the context of Singapore, such trips are normally termed as Overseas
Service Learning Trips (OSLP). They are usually organized by schools to bring students abroad to
broaden the students world view (Poh, 2014) and serve the community there. I have chosen three
articles on the effects on Voluntourism. In this essay, I will be taking a closer look at the arguments
presented and critic and improve on the current system of Voluntourism. Firstly, a broad over

BUS310 ACCOUNTING THEORY AND ACCOUNTABILITY WORKSHOP 1 SOLUTIONS
1) GHHT: Chapter 1: Theory in Action 1.1 The article describes how a particular theoretical
approach has been replaced by another. Explain why one theory replaces another, and who, or
what, determines whether an existing theory survives. A theory is primarily meant to explain or
predict an event, behaviour or outcome. Proponents of a theory look for evidence to support the
theory. This evidence should be independently observed and consistent after repeated observations.
Some theories are speculative or ideas or guesses floated to encourage researchers to undertake the
observations required to prove or disprove the theory. The question often debated is what comes...

2. Does the reintroduction of a theory mean that it should not have been replaced in the first
place? Theories about how the economy works and what will happen in the economy where
there is monetary policy or fiscal policy intervention are appropriate in assisting policy makers
understand the possible implications of decisions they make or are under consideration.
However, they are rarely complete models and often outcomes cannot be predicted.
Reintroduction of a theory suggests that new evidence in support of the theory has been
reported. 3. Should a theory be discarded if it does not specify the means of achieving a stated
objective? Explain your answer. The theory itself doesn t have to specify the means of achieving a
stated objective; however, it has to provide a sound basis for explaining, defining and predicting
behaviour. The application of the theory can have many elements and it is in the interpretation of
what will induce the predicted effects in the economy predicted by the theory which will result in
predicted or other stated outcomes. Q2) Readings 1. Principal images that have shaped the
development of accounting theory: Historical record: One of the early objectives of historical cost
accounting was stewardship. This meant that financial reports were a report on how well

My Life Is My School
I was born May 28, 2003 in Dubuque, IA. And a major thing in my life is my schools. So, let me
tell you about those. The first school I ever went to was Early Learners where I learned the basics.
But of course in preschool you don t really get graded or anything. After all, it is pre school. But the
second school I went to was Table Mound. Over by Casey s and all those places. Table Mound was
definitely a big place for me. Back then anyways, I looked at it like it was a huge school. There I
also had to move because I was outside the school district, and we moved into a trailer. And the
trailer was really nice on the inside, and it had 2 bathrooms so I didn t really care. Next I went to
Audubon, where I moved back to my old house, where I still live now. Then I went to Thomas
Jefferson Middle School. And I like this place a lot. I like how we don t have to stay in one
class, and I also like how we can have our phones out at lunch. And I think I don t get as mad in
class because if I get frustrated with a teacher, I don t have to stay with them the whole day. And
that s why I like middle school the most.
Most of my friends think I m funny but that s because they re easy to make laugh. And so am I, I
guess, but I think it s a good thing. In the future I want to be a computer programmer, like a
person that makes games. Or an electrician, but that s really only because it pays well, and a lot of
my family members were electricians too. Computer programmer because I play a

Redbox: Getting Ahead of the Curve
Redbox is a DVD/Blu Ray rental company which utilizes kiosk machines placed in convenient,
high traffic locations. The first Redbox kiosk was opened by McDonald s in 2002. Redbox was
later purchased by Coinstar, Inc., and over the years, Redbox has rented over one billion movies
and has grown to more than 27,000 locations in restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies and
convenience stores nationwide. Redbox proves to be a very unique way to rent DVD s and by the
nature of Redbox s rental process, most businesses would benefit from the increased traffic

Not only does Redbox provide a unique service, they provide it at a low cost at convenient
locations. Most movie rental stores charge $4 5 to rent a new release for approximately 3 days,
whereas Redbox provides a similar service for $1.29 per night. This is extremely cheap
considering most consumers watch their movie rental the same day they rent it. Furthermore,
Redbox gets this low cost movie rental product to the consumer through a channel of distribution
historically associated with snack foods and soda. By providing movie rentals through vending
machines called kiosks located at shopping locations where consumers already go to shop, they
have eliminated much of the costs associated with conventional movie rental stores and the need
for consumers to make an additional stop just to rent a movie. Since Redbox s inception, it has
experienced enormous growth and profit, but they will need to evolve in order to get ahead of the
curve.
Although Redbox appears to have established themselves as a formidable competitor to Netflix
and Blockbuster, they are facing a gruesome reality. The take home movie rental business is
rapidly losing ground to online streaming video directly to consumers homes via the internet.
Netflix has already been providing this service for quite some time and both Redbox and
Blockbuster are feeling the pressure. Blockbuster, Inc. has already declared

Looking at the background of every great civilization it is very easy to see that every civilization
has a dark past. For example the United States has shameful things to look back on such as
slavery and the forceful moving of the indian tribes also known as the Trail of Tears. This shows
that although the country is great and well developed today they all had to do something to get to
where they are today. Italy is one of the most influential countries today. This where Christianity,

The Public School Education System Is Failing Our Youth

English Composition I
19th November 2015
The Public School Education System is failing our Youth While in high school, many students
complained about standardized testing and how ridiculous it was our education standards were on
the line for it. How we never learned anything long enough to remember it. Students are supposed
to enjoy learning. Instead students dread their mornings and hours spent in a classroom. Pass the
OGT or the new PARCC testing in order to graduate. Being taught at an impossible pace that many
cannot remember the information for the next year but instead just remember for the moment.
There are teachers who are sitting fancy, but don t even do their job to the core standards.
Looking at a few others who notice these flaws, a source from Sandra Stotsky s article says:
To begin with, education schools supply far too many teachers with an inadequate background in the
subjects they are licensed to teach. As one school administrator discovered when she examined
her teacher s college transcripts while preparing a proposal for a Teaching American History
grant, fully one third of our middle school social studies teachers had zero hours in college history
courses. Another 53 percent had fewer than ten hours of any college history. (Stotsky 44). Many
teachers cannot answer your questions simple or not. They don t have extensive knowledge to
hold onto because of lack of passion or having such a repetitive way of teaching

Why Is Oliver Cromwell Important In The 16th Century
William Shakespeare, the one taking all of the fame in the sixteenth century for his poems, plays,
and writings did not completely steal the spotlight. Successful Ben Jonson also stole some of the
fame with his playwrights and poetry during the late sixteen century. Aside from the writing, Oliver
Cromwell remains another known legend in the military and political area. Lastly, during the
Shakespeare times there remains a well known composer, William Byrd, who received the first
patent to publish music with his friend. All of these men have suffered sometime in their life, but in
return they accomplished such great successes. Not only did William Shakespeareremain a known
figure in the sixteenth century, but people such as Ben Jonson, Oliver Cromwell, and William
Byrd also played a major role in history.
To start off, lots of famous playwrights and poems did not come from just Shakespeare himself. In
fact, Ben Jonson successfully wrote many popular plays including Every Man in His Humor
which Shakespeare played the main role. Unfortunately, after the release of one of his best plays,
Ben Jonson killed Gabriel Spencer during a duel. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

position of a king. He also tried to create a godly society by introducing a group of evangelical

It is here that one may consider the first shots were fired of the war on drugs, in the Mexican
theatre. However, Nixon was just one step in a progression of drug policy reforms since the early
20th century. But for the sake of conciseness, many historians consider this a key turning point in

The Importance Of Naturalism In Eveline
Eveline is a short story in the genre of naturalism which means that it centres on life as it is and it
stresses the importance of the environment and heredity in shaping human destiny. It was written
by James Joyce in 1904 as part of a collection of portraits of people who lived in Dublin around
1900 titled Dubliners. The story features only two main settings Eveline s house and the port and
lasts only the span of one day. It was written by Joyce to show the monotonous lives of the people
who lived in Dublinat the time.
Joyce was openly critical of Irish parochialism and he wrote Eveline to prove his belief that
Ireland does not permit the development of individuality, as the character Eveline is presented
by Joyce to be the absolute epitome of Irish parochialism; rather than go after her ambition to
leave Ireland for a better life, Eveline s life is lead by her sense of duty. We see this when
Eveline doubts her ambitions, In her home any way she had shelter and food; she had those
whom she had known all her life about her, The simplistic reasoning that Joyce uses conveys the
absolute autonomy of Eveline s life as her only reasons to not chase her ambition are basic
requirements for most people s lives. Eveline, unfortunately, leads the stereotypical life for a
woman in Ireland around that time as her life was ruled by her sense of duty and the men in her
life rather than by her ambitions and herself. The reason Joyce did this was so he could share the

2012 NFL Team Analysis
We are officially through two weeks of the 2016 NFL regular season and we are beginning to
find out which teams are good and not so good. As we head into Week 3, this is a pivotal time
for some teams, who are still winless on the season. Majority of these teams have played well one
week and looked bad the next, while others have lost by less than a less than a touchdown.
With that being, here are five teams that can t afford to lose in Week 3:
1. Buffalo Bills: The Bills begin this list as they are in trouble. Currently, they are 0 2 after going
down to their division rival New York Jets 37 31. Unlike, the first week of the season, the Bills

4. Indianapolis Colts: The Colts are not a very good football team this season and it s showing on
both sides of the ball. The defense is hurting and giving up a ridiculous 36.5 points per game,

While on offense, quarterback Andrew Luck is doing everything in his power to will the team to
victory with a lack of a running game. Then to make matters worse, Indianapolis lost wide receiver
Donte Moncrief for 4 6 weeks with a fractured scapula.
With all those factors, it is not looking good for Indianapolis. However, they have a favorable
matchup this week against the San Diego Chargers. The Chargers are coming off a big win against
the Jacksonville Jaguars but lost running back Danny Woodhead to a torn ACL. With no Woodhead
or Keenan Allen, the Colts defense should not have any trouble in slowly down a Chargers offense

The Should A Solitary Currency For Europe Has Come From...
The need to have a solitary currency for Europe has come from the following six major factors.
Firstly, the Post World War II, European Union (EU) was established in the year 1957, to have a
trade market that is common for all its constituent nations. This soon gave way to the need of
having a joint currency among EU nations, as it was realized that individual currencies caused too
much fluctuation risks and sustain exchange costs (European Central Bank, 2010). Secondly, the
EU needed to have a more powerful presence in the world economy, and an established common

brought in by Euro, in terms of increased revenue from tourism, enhancement in prices of the
property, and overall financial benefits to the economy (De Santis, 2012). Secondly, European
Central Bank has monitored the inflation and volatility in prices quite well, and has nearly
achieved the stability of 2% inflation rate increase, that it had originally aimed for. This steadiness
is also reflected in the long term interest rates that are much less volatile across the Euro zone (De
Santis, 2012). Thirdly, euro has given a major boost to the European economy by increasing the
market competition within the zone, with more transparency in all transactions, giving the entire
zone an aura of stability. It is currently the second currency in the world that is most traded, after
the US Dollar. Fourthly, on a micro economic level, the benefits have been seen in the form

Evidence Based Practice Summary
The purpose of faculty training in the nursing profession is to provide program evaluation to
examine evidence based practice in a simulation of care and provide safe nursing practice. Patients
with a tracheostomy are high risk and have numerous problems for nurses to find because of
respiratory problems. In addition, understanding the facility policy regarding tracheostomy care,
the faculty must possess specific knowledge and skills to provide satisfactory care. Evidence based
research has provided the organization for nurses to improve nursing care standards and practice
regarding tracheostomy care (Schreiber, 2015). On the other hand, the patient simulation laboratory

patients. Further, rubrics can be used as a tool in SIM lab to help validate progression in learning
from simple to more complex care concepts (Moughrabi Wallace, 2015). When the faculty
understands the concept of theory and applies it to practice, their training can bring their newly
acquired skills into clinical practice. Therefore, Roy s model would work for my DNP project

The Continuous Cycle of War Ever since the days of Mesopotamia from the agricultural revolution,
war has been a constant and important part of human life. Over time though, humans have evolved
and gotten stronger and smarter which lead to more competition. War from its beginning, has
consistently stemmed from the innate sense of evolutionary survival and subsequent competition,
thus securing it s inevitable perpetuation. The only thing that every person has in common is that
they want to survive. Humans are always fighting. This shows how even though the monster had
not done anything inherently wrong, they are afraid because they just want to survive and the

Religions differing has caused many conflicts throughout history. The feeling of attachment to
tribalism and fake patriotism under the umbrella of religion is stronger and more apparent than
respect for human rights and pluralism (Mhamed 2). When people are tied so greatly to their
religion, they will be willing to throw away their morals and do whatever they deem is right for
their beliefs, leading to constant wars. different tribal and so called patriotic groups resort to
religion to gain legacy and popularity (Mhamad 2). Religion is even just a way to unite people to
war such as saying they are doing something in the name of their deity Both survival and
competition, consequently have caused continuous wars throughout human history. Humans are
always fighting since the beginning of time. Wherever there is an enemy, animate or inanimate,
there must be a victory. You must prevail at the front, no matter how high the cost at home

coming from this quote and it is said for a very good reason. group versus group competition was
a principal driving force that made us what we are. In prehistory, group selection lifted the
hominids that became territorial carnivores to heights of solidarity, to genius, to enterprise and to
fear (Wilson 1). Competition was necessary and it will until the end of humans. It has caused war

Introduction to Mexico
INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this paper is to evaluate Mexico and the possibility of internationalization. In order
to make an informed decision about such a country, the benefits, costs and risks of the venture must
be considered. In this paper, we will analyze Mexico s economy, political structure, culture and
management techniques. By examining these factors an American firm should be able to make a
decision based on Mexico and the type of business considering a move into Mexico. This paper
will show that a company can not internationalize into Mexico due to the lower costs of labor

Some farming takes place on the steep mountain coast and much of the gold of the Aztec Empire is
believed to have come from this region.
The Chiapas highlands have great blocklike mountains that rise more than 9,000 feet above sea
level. This region consists of relatively flat surfaces at high attitudes called the tablelands, which
are farmed by Indians who speak Maya and other ancient languages. With irrigation, farmers grow
coffee, fruits, and other crops.
Yucatan Peninsula is a low limestone plateau with no rivers. Limestone dissolves in the water and
rainfall reaches the sea through underground channels dissolved out of the rock. Great pits have
formed where the roofs of these channels have fallen in and these huge pits were sacred wells of
the ancient Mayas Indians. The north part of the region is dry bushland. To the south, the rainfall
increases, and tropical rain forests cover the land.
Climate
The climate of Mexico varies sharply from region to region. Dry conditions exist over the whole
northern border from the Pacific to the Gulf of Mexico and over the north central region southward
to about 22 degree north latitude. Rainfall gradually increases as you travel farther south from 22
degrees north latitude until the southern most tip of Mexico where there are rainforests.
The northern half of Mexico is usually dry and consists largely of deserts and semideserts. The lack

Analysis Of The Poem The I Don t Say Brea
Caida had little time to ponder the meaning of her brother s words. Since Brea s funeral Aldaria
had been keeping a low profile, but now she approached. Fingle slipped away, once more
towards the woods. Aldaria glanced after him, one eyebrow raised, then moved closer to Caida.
Bolste thinks goblins that killed that man, Aldaria said. Yes, Caida replied. But we don t know
that. We don t even know if they were dangerous. Aldaria held her gaze for a few seconds. Caida,
I don t think Brea would have acted like that if they weren t. And to end his own life as he did...
he knew this land was not paradise. It was a bright winter s day, but the bay was quiet. Little
wind stirred the surf on the pebble beach and the forest loomed silent and brooding. The tribe
milled around the bay camp. They clumped in twos and threes, speaking only in short bursts,
almost whispering as if afraid of waking something. For the first time her own sense that all was
not as it should be seemed to have infected the rest of her people. The relief and excitement they
had felt when they emerged from the sea had been eroded away in less than a week. Jacubui has
changed his vote, Aldaria continued. We will build a stockade atop the crag as soon as possible.
What, Caida spluttered. How do you know about this, it was for the council only! Bolste came to
me for advice this morning. Do not feel bad, Caida. He is just doing what he can to protect us all.

The Thomas Crown Affair
The disregard and disrespect for reality is an essential characteristic of postmodern culture. Films
like The Thomas Crown Affair, Bullets Over Broadway, Ex Machina and American Hustle all deal
with the postmodern sensibility of possessing disdain towards the truth. Viewers are capable of
seeing how the preference for spectacle over substance, nostalgia for the past and inability to trust
are embodied and resolved in all four films central conflicts and themes.

It opens with the line, Some of this actually happened, which foreshadows that the film will
examine the disillusionment towards reality. However, the film takes a satiric look at the
seventies as it is based on the ABSCAM sting operation of the time. American Hustle itself is
told through various points of view in regards to the same situation, showing viewers that reality
is subjective to a person s circumstances. Irving, a seasoned con man, Sydney, his partner, and
Richie, an FBI agent, are all trying to be people they are not. However, Irving s wife Rosalyn is
portrayed as neurotic when she is one of the only characters who is honest with herself because
she realizes that life is full of poisonous choices. The real hustle is the struggle each of the
characters face in order to maintain their appearance while they try to refigure themselves. The
characters are all swindling one another and themselves throughout the course of the film, showing
that humans are beasts especially in their drive for sex and power. Richie s attempt to swindle
people to boost his position shows that many people will manipulate each other and go against their
own beliefs just to secure themselves. The film underlines the postmodern characteristic of
spectacle over substance, while accentuating that reality is skewed and trust is seeminly

The Human Body Is Complex, And All Humans
Paul Ojugo
The human body is complex, and all humans are similar to one another in many ways. As humans
we share a lot of characteristics in common with one another, such as having hands, feet, eyes,
nose, gender, ethnic backgrounds and etc. There has to be some characteristic or organ we have
that differentiate all of us, and all these features we have in common, and that is our brain. The brain
is one of the largest and most complex organs in the human body. It is made up more than 100
billion nerves that communicate in trillions of connections called synapses. Synapse is a junction

nervous system, including the cerebrum, basal ganglia, diencephalon, limbic system, brainstem, and

etal 1997).The largest portion of the brain is the cerebrum. This section contains tools which are
responsible for most of the brain function, and it is divided into four subsections. The temporal
lobe, the occipital lobe, parietal lobe, and frontal lobe. The cerebrum is divided into a right and left
hemisphere which are connected by axons that relay messages from one to the other. This matter
is made of nerve cells which carry signals between the organ and the nerve cells which run
through the body. The parietal lobe is one of the four lobes located in the cerebral hemisphere,
this lobe focuses on comprehension, visual functions, language, reading, and internal stimuli.
Tactile sensation and sensory comprehension are the main trait focused in this lobe. The parietal
lobe is separated into two different cortex s named sensory cortex, and motor cortex, The sensory
cortex which is located in the front portion of the parietal lobe receives information relayed from
the spinal cord regarding the position of various body parts and how they are moving, this area of

insider trading which involved selling his ImClone stock and then notifying his family of the

Nothing is guaranteed in the world of investing except unpredictable financial loss, gain, and
anxiety. Samuel Waksal s reaction was motivated by the desire to prevent financial losses to
himself and his family regardless of the price paid by his stockholders, employees, and other
investors of the company, including those employees who held no ImClone shares but dedicated
their expertise to ImClone and developing its anti cancer drug.
Why were Samuel Waksal s actions unethical?
Samuel Waksal s actions were unethical because he was acting with information his staff, board
of directors, and stock holders were unaware of. Samuel took advantage of confidential
information provided to him and used it for personal financial gain and for the financial gain of his
family. His actions were deliberate and taken with the clear knowledge that what he was doing was
ethically and morally wrong.
The sentencing of Samuel Waksal to 87 months in prison and the order to pay $3million in fines
and $1.2 million in restitution to the New York State Sales Tax Commission should serve as a stern
reminder that although one may sit very high up on the corporate ladder, the code of ethics,
integrity, and high personal standards cannot be put aside for even a moment. The higher one goes
up the ladder, the harder the fall to the bottom will be when they abuse their position.

What Is Schein s Model Of Organizational Culture
This issue can be explained with the model developed by Edgar Schein for understanding the
organizational culture. Schein s model of organizational culture identifies three distinct levels in
organizational cultures;
1.Artifacts and behaviors include any tangible, overt or verbally identifiable elements in an
organization such as architecture, furniture, dress code, office jokes etc.
2.Espoused values include organization s stated values and rules of behavior such as how the
members represent the organization expressed in official philosophies and public statements etc.
3.Shared Basic Assumptions are the deeply embedded, taken for granted behaviors which are
usually unconscious, but constitute the essence of culture. These assumptions are typically so well
integrated in the office dynamic that they are hard to recognize from within.
Illustration of Schein s model of organizational culture
According to Schein explained, once an organization culture is based on shared basic assumption of
not valuing integrity, it is clear to burst cross cultural issues with officers who do not have such
assumptions even though ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Let s make comic books great again! This statement does not necessarily insinuate that comic
books are not great but rather acknowledges its current depreciated state. Comic books came into
prevalence in the late 1930s, with Superman paving a way to an era of superheroes and comics,
known as the Golden Age of Comic Books. However, notable illustrators such as Jack Kirby,
revitalized the comic book phenomenon carrying it into the 1950s 1970s, by creating Fantastic 4
and other works of fiction. In Comic Book Apocalypse: The Graphic World of Jack Kirby,
individuals are exposed to the world of comics and Jack Kirby s instrumental influence in this

For instance, the influence of comic books is seen widely across our culture with superheroes
branded and intertwined within our entertainment, clothing and politics. Culturally, comic books
have created a society in which individuals can escape their troubles and immerse themselves in
the world of science fiction and superheroes. These comic books and superheroes exemplify
characteristics of bravery, strength and honesty qualities that have a positive impact on our nation
s youth. In correlation, comic books have political consequences as this medium was often used
as tools to instill patriotism and propaganda. For example, in Jack Kirby s illustrations, the viewer
often sees American soldiers defeating and fighting Nazis or take Captain America for an example.
Captain America epitomizes the perception Americans have on our nation strong, unbeatable and
lawful. In addition to infusing a sense of patriotism, comics often depict political events or people.
Additionally, these superheroes have had a super impact on American Culture. Over the decades
since their creation, billions of dollars have been spent and gained through comic books, movies
and television shows having several positive economic effects. Lastly, comic books have created an
art in which comics serve as a vehicle for a narrative, grabbing the reader s attention with vivid

Hamlet Film Analysis
Over the course of the past fifty years there have been many cinematic productions of
Shakespeare s Hamlet, some of which remain true to the text while others take greater liberties
from the original format. Director Kenneth Branagh s 1996 production of Hamlet was true to
Shakespeare s work in that the films dialogue was delivered word or word as it is presented in the
text. In contrast, Franco Zeffirelli conducted his 1990 production of Hamletin a much more liberal
direction in which lines, scenes and characters were omitted from film. I argue that from the
perspective of an individual with moderate knowledge in Shakespearian literature, that the best film
versions of Hamletare those that take the most liberties from the text. I concur that the following
elements reflect the level of liberty taken in regards to the text and that these elements determine
which film is the best; changes to dialogue, changes to plot, presence of theme portrayal of
emotions and the setting.
In 1996 Kenneth Branagh starred as Hamlet in his self directed version of the play. Branagh s
script for the film was fiercely loyal to Shakespeare s original words which resulted in a four
hour cinematic experience. The immense amount of dialogue was delivered rapidly and added a
layer of complexity which effected the audience s ability to analyze and comprehend the story line.
A lack of understanding is problematic as it contributes to a loss of character development as well
as confusion within the

Why A Mass Murderer Commits A Crime Essay
As usual, he was dressed in black that day, Jamie Rouse saw two female teachers talking in the
hallway, so he silently progressed towards them, and shot both of the teachers in the head. Then
with a grin, Jamie turned towards the school s football coach. Instead of hitting the coach Jamie
tore a bullet through a student s throat. Sadly, sixteen year old Diane Collins ended up in the
wrong place at the wrong time. She died that day. According to a study, rampage killers usually
talk long before their heinous plans to commit the murder. Also, in 54 of the 100 cases, shooters
like Jamie gave direct blueprints of where, when, and who they predetermined to kill (Glaberson,
and Goodstein). Others heard or saw the shooter go through earlier tendencies, signs of mental
illnesses, and the people or places around the killerfailed to do anything about the shooter s plan.
For fame, revenge, or simply a sense of belonging, there are many reasons why a mass murderer
commits a crime. According to Andrea Bonior, she has a Ph. D. in licensed clinical
psychologist, she writes, he wanted to triumph and be somebody. People denounce celebrities who
have gotten that way for doing nothing, and we re rapid to take offense at people who ll do
anything to get publicity.
Another motive can be the killer wants to seek vengeance on people or places. In the article

The Solider by Rupert Brooke and Dulce et decorum Est by Wilfred Owen, are two poems
written during the time of World War One (WW1). Both poems are an example of each authors
perception on war, Owens being about the spiteful reality and Brookes about the glory of dying
one s country. Although they are two very different perspectives both are based around the horrors
of war and the unimaginable amount of deaths that WW1 had caused. There are numerous amounts
of similarities between the two poems Dulce et Decorum Est and The Soldier . Throughout The

In the first stanza of Dulce et Decorum Est , the reader is instantly drawn in with Bent double .
This gives the poem a feeling of immediacy which is then followed up by a detailed description
of what is to come. Till on the haunting flares we turned our backs/ Men marched asleep/ Many
had lost their boots but limped on. The reader is yet again, drawn into the graphic scene of war.
The alliteration Knock kneed emphasises the battle weariness of the soldiers and intensifies the
way they depicted war. Owen creates rhythm throughout the stanza by littering the poem with
pauses. He uses this technique in the line All went blind; Drunk with fatigue; death even to the
hoots Of tired . Owen makes the scene more vivid by bringing in his own involvement to war
with we cursed through the sludge , he uses the term sludge to help capture the agony which was
being experienced by the soldiers. The Soldier is one of numerous poems written at the
beginning of war (before Dulce et Decorum Est ) to attract naive young men who believed
enrolling in war would be an exciting adventure allowing them to travel the world. Brooke
welcomes death in his sonnet and expresses that he feels privileged to have been raised in
England, believing it was a blessing. In the first stanza, Brooke gives the impression of England
being a tranquil country, in which he feels honoured to be English. If I should die, think

Somewhere inside, we hear a voice. It leads us in the direction of the person we wish to become.
But it is up to us whether to follow or not. Pat Tillman was a man of many great qualities.
One of the big qualities of Pat Tillman that made him known was his modesty. First let s start off
with a time when Pat was in High school. After winning the state title in football, Pat was
interviewed after having an amazing game. He was asked about how he felt he did and he stated
that he didn t do that good, but the team had a great game. Pat Tillman most certainly did not care

was only about 5 4 at this time and was really small in weight and size. He worked hard and
eventually got his division 1 football scholarship. He was later on drafted by the Arizona Cardinals
in the 7th round. Many have said that, since Pat is smaller than most college and NFL players he
had to work really hard and without this drive Pat would have never even been drafted. As soon
as he was officially an Arizona Cardinal and practices started, Pat went all out and made the
most of his opportunity. Most of the other players started to get irritated with how hard Pat was
going in practices, but that is exactly the kind of player the coaching staff wanted on their team.
Through all of Pat s hard work he ended up starting for the Cardinals as a safety. He kept on
dominating on the field and this led to the media and press being all around him. He had a press

Characterisation Of Iago And Iago In William Shakespeare s...
Shakespeare created the character of Iago in a complex way that made critics differ when
interpreting the role he played in the Othello drama. A.C. Bradley consider that the tragedy is
the undoing of the noble Moor by the devilish cunning of Iago, (1963[1952], p. 137). It was
external evil, the malice of the devil, that turned a happy story of romantic lovers who were
capable to live happily ever after, so to speak into a tragedy while literary critic F. R. Leavis attacks
the Bradley view, asserting that the fact is that in Shakespeare s tragedy of OthelloOthello is the
chief personage the chief personage in such a sense that the tragedy may fairly be said to be
Othello s character in action. Iagois subordinate and merely ancillary. (p. 138).
Surely there is some truth in both views. Whether we agree or disagree with these views depends
on how we read the whole play, and how we understand Shakespeare s characterisation of Othello
and Iago throughout.
From beginning to end Iago moves the characters of Othello as if they were chessmen. He uses their
individual passions and aspirations to motivate them to whatever deceitful plan ... Show more

Iago is very manipulative. Iago is a principal at manipulation. Through his plain words, he plants
seeds of doubt in Othello.
Iago can be blamed for Othello s downfall because it is his inherent evil, jealousy, bitterness, and
resentment towards the general that leads him to begin an evil plot, not only to punish him but to
get rid of him totally. Iago s ill feeling towards the general occurs even before Othello s
appointment of Cassio as his lieutenant.
Iago is the most important cause of the tragedy. The main and predominant reason that brings about
the tragic downfall of Othello is Iago s highly sophisticated art of bluff, and his unbelievable ability
and understanding for manipulating the mind and feelings of the every other

Disability Movement
Prior to reading this article I never truly understand the harsh conditions that the disabled had to
live with prior to the disability movement. While reading this article I questioned how individuals
abusing the disabled got away with doing so for so long. Yet, while further reading through the
article I realized that this abuse may have resulted in lack of educationon disabled individuals and
possible fear of the disabled. The article spoke about how the disabilitymovement did not really
start until after Dr. Samuel Gridley started a schoolfor idiotic children (Pfeiffer D. 1993). This was
a start to helping disabled more, but a very small start at that. Soon after the school was shut down
for dehumanizing the disabled. I feel that this idea was a great idea and start to the disabled
movement but was not run right therefore was abused and used the disabled individuals for labor
work instead (Pfeiffer D. 1993). One of the movements I thought was inspiring and finally helped
the Disability Movement turn in the right direction was the AFB, American Foundation for the
Blind. This... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I feel this article would be beneficial for everyone to read to get a basis on the start of the
movement, but that there is still much work to do. There is still much bullying and abuse toward
disabled individuals that I feel could be improved by more education on the matter. I know
growing up I was not taught much about disabilities until I went to college and further educated
myself on the matter. The definition of disabled in this article starts out with a very important
statement: with respect to an individual (Garcia, S. 2013). I feel that much respect is yet to be
built and with further education on the matter from historical overviews, such as what Pfeiffer
wrote, we can learn what not to do and how to move

Review Of Lord Of The Flies
Tabula Rasa over Centuries
People say that a person cannot live a positive life with a negative mind. That person has the
ability to take action through influence and experience. Lord of the Flies by William Golding
gives a graphic example about loss of complete culture to bestial ambience. This may be
recognizable with the boys perception on fun and games. Leisure for the children on the island
goes from playing Tic Tac Toe in the sand to hunting for pigs and eventually one another. In
parallel to the story, this hazardous recreation takes place in our own reality. For children of the
21st century, it manifests as video games. Lord of the Flies amplifies influence, and its effect on
adolescent behavior mirroring today s societal interest in the violent virtual world.
A supporting idea containing morality connects to the Tabula Rasatheory. John Locke, an
Enlightened English philosopher, embraced the importance of experience over speculation. He
emphasizes the human mind at birth is a complete, but receptive, blank slate. This ideally proves
how experience affects knowledge. Let us then suppose the mind to be, as we say, white paper
void of all characters, without any ideas. [...] Whence has it all the materials of reason and
knowledge? To this I answer, in one word, from experience. (John Locke, Essay). In relation to
this famous idea, the boys lives in Lord of the Flies reinforces the idea immensely. Through Jack s
idea of fun and games, benevolence is subconsciously

The Walmart Effect And The Big Thirst By Charles Fisher
Earth is filled with vast amounts of water, yet it s like a cruel joke to people who cannot drink it
due to its toxicity to us. Likewise, fresh water is our most precious resource that people depend
on every day. Our society is based around the use of large amounts of water in our everyday lives.
Charles Fisher, a three time winner of the Gerald Loeb award, a writer for the magazine Fast
Company, and the author of The Walmart Effect and The Big Thirst, tells a different story. In
the article Will the World Run out of Fresh Water, which explains that people take water for
granted and never see its true value like people in the past, published at the Detroit Greenhaven
Press in 2012. Because we use vast amounts of water and never see the process in which water is
given to people, Fisherman proposes this idea that water is taken for granted until we run out,
which is more than true. Each day, our homes receive gallons upon gallons of water for our
living necessities to live a comfortable life. In the article Fisher explains that at least in the
developed world, we have gradually been able to stop thinking about water . This is due to being
around water all our lives. We have been conditioned from day one to believe fresh water will
never run out. Even our emotional connections to water have become submerged and camouflaged
, for example when a person in America sees someone spilling a cup of water on the ground they
do not even care to tell them they are being wasteful, which

Religion Initiation Rituals
I think that initiation rituals are an important part of a religion. From both the primal
perspective and a contemporary perspective, I believe that the initiation rituals were/are
important because they mark the first time a person is formally introduced to the community as
a member. I think initiation rituals are a way for the people to feel like they truly belong to their
respective religious communities. During the primal religious period, there was virtually no
knowledge about the origins of the world and life itself. Therefore, rituals were valued because
they proposed some answers and a sense of unification for the people. For many people/religions
the initiation and rituals were a way of life in the face of an unknown world. They were also a way
for the community members to prove that they were willing, in some cases, to suffer for their
religion.
In today s world, the initiation rituals of religions, like baptism, have much of the same intentions
as that of the early religious people. From my ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because of the lack of knowledge and scientific understanding, I think that the people were more
in awe of nature and the things around them. Religion was a way, according to the article, in
which groups of people faced the unknown together . Most of the things that occurred in nature
were attributed to a god or to gods/goddesses. There were many questions surrounding the world
and natural events that were a mystery to the early religious people. That being said, science has
enabled some of the questions, assumed by early religious people to be the work of a god or
gods, to be answered. For example, scientists have proposed explanations for various miracles from
the Bible. While science has provided some answers for the early religious people, most scientists
have concluded that the question surrounding the concept of existence cannot be explained through

Iranian Sexual Revolution
Although family law and official discourse still remain patriarchal, however, globalization, women s
movement activities, improving levels of education, improving new communication technologies
and the implementation of modernization s policies, have led Iranians to confront dominant sexual
discourse through a modern life style and they also try to customize the traditional perceptions of
sexuality with new attitudes.
These transformations are remarkable enough to some scholars who called it a kind of sexual
revolution. For instance, Pardis Mahdavi (2007) after her long time investigation on the private life
style of a part of the urban youth in Iran, stated that in spite of legal prohibitions against pre marital
sex, homosexuality, dancing parties and alcohol consumption, contemporary youths in Iran oppose
these constrains and make their own definitions of life style and relationships. The writer proposed
a kind of revolution to represent the new changes. Mahdavi (2007) argued that the sexual revolution
they believe, they are engaging in, is about changing sexual discourse, pushing the limits with
regards to restrictions on social behaviors (such as style of dress, youth congregation, drinking and
dancing) and attacking the fabric of morality under which the ... Show more content on

gender relationships has changed. Today women are active everywhere, in different areas of

authority is the core of relationships is going to be abolished and women are challenging their
traditional maternal roles. It seems that gender division of roles and duties are no longer as
established as before. Family values are being replaced by individualism and pre marital

Formaldehyde Research Paper
Formaldehyde is a colorless and flammable gas. It is used in many cosmetic products to aid in
preventing bacteria growth. This chemical can be found in many different personal care products
including nail polish, body washes, shampoos, cleansers, eye shadows, and nail polish treatments.
The most common side effect of Formaldehyde are allergic skinreactions. It has been found to
cause irritation of the eyes, nose, and skin. But, it as also been linked to nasal and nasopharyngeal
cancers.
It is somewhat difficult to figure out if your cosmetics contain Formaldehyde because most product
labels won t tell you if it is or isn t present. However, you can figure it out yourself by checking for
various chemicals. Some chemicals that are related to Formaldehyde are DMDM hydantoin,
Imidazolidinyl urea, and Bronopol. In addition, there are some nail polish companies who do not

Hydroquinone
Hydroquinoe is a compound found in numerous skin products that is used for lightening skin. It is
contained in a lot of products that are aimed towards reducing the appearance of dark spots,
freckles, and acne scars. Hydroquinoe unfortunately does cause some dangerous health concerns.
For one, it causes skin irritation. Using this ingredient regularly can result in your skin starting to
irritate. Some people have even experienced extreme redness and itching when they applied it to
their skin.
There are many alternatives to using products that contain hydroquinone. If you are searching for a
skin whitening product, look for one that is made of natural ingredients such as mandelic acid and
alpha hydroxy acids. Using products with these natural ingredients are way safer than using
products that contain hydroquinone. However, remember that even though skin whitening can help
many skin problems, it should only be used for treating problem regions, not for using all over. Try
your best to be comfortable in the skin you already

Journal Entry #5 November 30th, this is an exhilarating day for me and my family, Adolf has
given me a secret assignment to work on a massive tank to be able to destroy our opponents with
ease. The current teams sent to research this project are lazy, and have achieved little to
nothing, if this continues we will be destroyed in this war and have only defeat to look forward
to. Luckily, I ve been sent new people to get this operation running the right direction, I theorizes
that this tank will be completed in the next two years, if this war last that long. January 7th,
Adolf has informed me that I need to quicken my construction of this tank, I don t think he
knows that a 46ft wide and 36ft high tank can t be built over the course of a few days, I will
certainly need more people to get this done within the next few months. Also I had heard that
the Americans had joined the war on the side of our enemies, although we d gain the country of
Italy to support us, I was told that I should soon be receiving several more engineers from Italy to
help in the creation of our behemoth, this is very good news as with the materials that we had
just acquired from them we should get one made by the middle of Kann (May) of this year. As

Role Of A Woman Within Islam And Their Daily Source Of...
Women in Islam are constantly viewed, from the Western standpoint, as a suppressed culture.
Though this may be true to certain extents, such as not mixing in with the men at mosque, we can
find that generally, the Islamic woman is well respected and held in high regard. Women in Islam
are; mothers, sisters, partners, workers, scholars and business owners and managers (al Hashimi
4). Within this research paper, we will review the role of a woman in Islamand their daily source of
happiness.
An Islamic woman, on the basis of a comparative life, is hardly different from say, an American
woman. In some aspects, an American woman may be in awe to learn the truth behind the
Muslim female world. For example, when a married American woman has a family to support
and works to provide income, this is to help her husband support their family together. Though in
the Islamic world, the female Muslim works for her own accord. Due to Islamic law, a woman
may work to acquire money, however her earnings are hers and hers only. If she chooses to help
her husband support the family with her earnings, she may do so (which is common practice).
Another common misconception when comparing an American woman to an Islamic woman
would be their appearances. The American woman typically strives to be the best looking one in the
bunch, show enough skin, but not too much skin. Put on enough makeup to cover blemishes and
skin problems. Wear the newest, hippest clothing they are allowed to

The Digital Revolution
The Value of Vinyl Ryan Henderson CSP 58: From the Phonograph to the Autotune Professor
Johnson 5/4/15 In the midst of a digital revolution, music mediums have dramatically transformed
since their conceptions in the late 1800s. The music carrier has become a paramount component of
the listening experience. It is an inseparable aspect of auditory production and reception that
contextualized the sound heard, whether in a phonograph or an MP3 file. As the world of music
steadily converts into digital, weightless files, countless materialistic mediums have become
artifacts of the past. Yet, the vinyl record, a vintage technology, has managed to withstand the
extinction of physical musical formats. The revival of analog records in recent times has had an
impressive impact during an overwhelming era of digitalization. Reemerging as an auxiliary media
format has been a dramatic transformation since its days as the dominant recording medium in the
60s and 70s. Its transfiguration over the decades is a complex process involving many cultural,
technological, and mechanical factors. Vinyl is a revitalized phenomenon of the 21st century that
has been infused with new meaning and values. After over 125 years of existence, this classic
medium continues to be a symbol of the undeniable impact of multisensory musical experience. The
analog record s reemergence in the digital age has recontextualized the medium, but continues to
demonstrate the remarkable singularity of

The Collapse Of Andrew Carnegie
The late 1800 s and early 1900 s a new era had commenced; the rise of unprecedented fortunes and
unprecedented poverty, loosening social mores, unsanitary food production, the onrush of foreign
immigration, environmental destruction confronted Americans. The rise of fortunes came the rise
of the keepers of fortunes, one of which was Andrew Carnegie. His business, which became known
as the Carnegie Steel Company, revolutionized steel production in the United States. Carnegie built
plants around the country, using technology and methods that made manufacturing steel easier,
faster and more productive. For every step of the process, he owned exactly what he needed: the
raw materials, ships and railroads for transporting the goods, and even coal fields to fuel the steel
furnaces. There are two sides to every person, especially one with money, Captains of Industry and
Robber Baron. A Captain of Industry, is a leader in their field. The money their companies generates
does not go to them and only them, but they focus on helping the economy, less fortunate, and
giving back to the community; creating wealth. The juxtaposition of a Captain of Industry is a
Robber Baron. They focus their efforts on benefits for themselves, at the expense of workers,
communities and economies.
One of the captains of industry of 19th century, Andrew Carnegie helped build the formidable
American steel industry, a process that turned a poor young man into one of the richest
entrepreneurs of his age.

Essay on Using the Bankruptcy Process to Solve the...
The scourge of foreclosure has already affected millions of Americans, and the fear of losing one s
home looms over millions more. President Obama s Making Home Affordable program has been a
step in the right direction insofar as it encourages homeowners to work with their lenders to modify
their mortgageloans. These modifications have helped borrowers by allowing them to keep their
homes, and they have helped lenders by allowing them to receive more money than they would
typically receive in the auctions sale which almost always inevitably follows a foreclosure.
However, there is more that can and should be done in order to help a larger portion of

Typically, that purchased property is pledged to the lender as security, for the loan, meaning that if
the debtor fails to repay the lender, the lender can then repossess that security property, in order to
satisfy the loan. Frequently, when a debtor enters the bankruptcy process, that debtor will owe more
money on the loan than the actual value of the property. In these instances, Section 506(a) of the
Bankruptcy Code allows some (but not all) debtors to reduce the secured debt owed to the lender to
the value of the property securing the debt. The rest of the debt the difference between the value
of the property and the amount owed on the loan becomes general non priority unsecured debt.
Because in Chapter 13 Bankruptcy, debtors plans must contain provisions requiring the debtor to
repay secured debt in full, but oftentimes may also contain provisions requiring the debtor to pay
only pennies on the dollar of general unsecured debt, this stripping down essentially allows the
debtor to keep her property by paying only slightly more than the value of the property over a
period of time. This process, which allows buyers to keep their property, restructure their payment
options over a longer period, and pay an amount nearly equal to the value of the property, is
currently unavailable to homeowners with home mortgages. Section 1322(c) of the Bankruptcy
Code explicitly disallows this strip down, so that no matter how much the loan amount exceeds

Pphl 25 Reflection
I am currently taking up PHIL 25, Philosophy of the Human Person, and it helped me interpret
complex things discussed in the 26 chapter text. The text as well helped me refreshed what were
already discussed on our PHIL 25 course and also aids in attaining a deeper understanding on
Philosophy. In the first chapters of the text, I already know that there is a big difference between
knowledgeand wisdom; wherein not all knowledgeable are wise. And what the text provided me
was a better comprehension on the difference between the two, knowledge and wisdom.
I, myself, do not know what wisdom is. According to the dictionary, wisdom is the quality of
having experience, knowledge, and good judgment; but what does wisdom really mean. In the
text, it was described as the knowledge of highest causes. It is about seeing the larger picture of
things. And mostly the wise persons are the older ones. I have learned that most older person are

The principle of identity states that each being is what it is, thus everything is determinate. Without
this principle we would not know anything at all and that what is something is the same as what it
is not. On the other hand, the principle of non contradiction states that something cannot be both
true and false at the same time in the same respect. Without this principle, for me, the world would
be in chaos. This is because, what would I want to mean could be the opposite of what would i
want to imply. The principle of the excluded middle states that a thing can only be is or is not, there
is no such thing as in between them. I have also grasp that becoming is being. This is for the reason
that becoming means changing into something. But before that change has come to happen, that
thing to undergo change is still the thing it is. I am quite confused

  • 2. The Role Of Ethical Issues In Nursing To Immunize or Not To Immunize, That Is the Ethical Question An Ethical Introduction Aldo Leopold said Ethical behavior is doing the right thing when no one else is watching even when doing the wrong thing is legal . As healthcare providers, our patients place a great deal of trust in us to practice ethical medicine (Battie, 2015, p. 505). We, as nurses, have access to intimate parts of patient s lives, and are looked upon to help educate patients in their decisions towards appropriate healthcare. Guided by a code of ethics, nurses serve to protect, prevent and avoid ethical harm to patients, while having the responsibility to strive for better preventative healthcare as opposed to illness centered care (Kangasniemi, Pakkanen, Korhonen, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Justice is described as treating everyone fairly (Finkelman Kenner, 2016, p. 175). One could interpret this as either everyone is vaccinated or none at all. But how do we separate those who refuse even mandatory requirements. We do not shame others for not washing their hands or not covering their months when they cough (Kaplan, 2015, p. 15). Why would we treat those choosing to not be immunized any different? We would only cause them to retreat into other avenues of schooling, employment or even healthcare. What then is the answer? The truth then becomes the vital role in the argument, whichever way the argument may lean. Veracity or truth, as the four ethical principle, becomes the deciding factor. Parents and patients alike are undereducated and overwhelmed. With the misinformation on the internet and the misguidance of friends and family, it becomes easily confusing to determine the right approach to immunizing children and even ourselves. Fully informing patients of the benefits and potential side effects allows them the make educated if not informed decisions on their healthcare and overall wellbeing. A Better ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This movie accurately shows us that Dory has Anterograde Amnesia. One specific scene where this disorder is displayed is in the beginning when Dory s parents are telling her what to say when she meets someone ( I suffer from short term memory loss). After this the parents act as if they are random people and start playing hide and seek. When the parents tell her to count to 10, she counts up to 3 and forgets what they are doing. She then wanders off to a group of fish and their parents immediately chase after her. This scene accurately displays Anterograde Amnesia since it shows us that Dory is unable to remember what is going on and then wanders off elsewhere. Another scene where the disorder is displayed is when Dory can t remember where her parents are as a result of accidentally losing them and then Dory asks a couple of fishes that she needs help finding them, but forgets what she said and repeats the same thing again. This shows that Dory s short term memory loss or Anterograde Amnesia causes her to forget where her parents are and even makes herself look awkward when repeating a question that she already asked. A third example of Dory displaying that she has Anterograde Amnesia is when she is sleeping and then gets up to ask one of her friends a question but is said to go back to bed. • 4. Societal Views of Women in the Victorian Era in Henrik... Societal Views of Women in the Victorian Era in Henrik Ibsen s A Doll s House A Doll s House, by Henrik Ibsen, creates a peephole into the lives of a family in the Victorian Era. The play portrays a female viewpoint in a male dominated society. The values of the society are described using the actions of a woman, Nora, who rebels against the injustices inflicted upon her gender. Women s equality with men was not recognized by society in the late 1800 s. Rather, a woman was considered a doll, a child, and a servant. Nora s alienation reveals society s assumptions and values about gender. A woman was considered by society to be a doll because she was expected to be subordinate to her husband s whims. Referring to a ball that she ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She alludes to a child s character when she says, everything I think of seems so silly and insignificant (26). Torvald replies with a condescending statement: Does my little Nora acknowledge that at last? (26). Torvald expects only childish talk from her. He even tells her she is little, like a child, and although he expects nothing more than child s talk from her, he does expect to be obeyed. Nora plays the part of a slave in her subservience to her husband, for she is supposed to abide by his rules and be dependent on him. She is not supposed to think for herself and repeatedly told so by those around her. When speaking about Nora in her presence, Torvald says, She is so terribly self willed (55). Nora has a conversation with Mrs. Linde, who also tells her, Don t be self willed (57). Torvald tells her, I will advise you and direct you (64). Nora is expected to be a dependent slave who follows her husband s advice and directions. Women were also legally dependent upon men. The society s laws of that time even required the male to cosign everything that a woman had to sign. Nora s naivete in forging her father s signature and trying to pay off the loan further emphasizes Victorian society s assumptions about women s inability to deal with a man s world. These assumptions about women caused their gender value to be vastly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Proponents of a theory look for evidence to support the theory. This evidence should be independently observed and consistent after repeated observations. However, they are rarely complete models and often outcomes cannot be predicted. Reintroduction of a theory suggests that new evidence in support of the theory has been reported. 3. Should a theory be discarded if it does not specify the means of achieving a stated objective? Explain your answer. The theory itself doesn t have to specify the means of achieving a stated objective; however, it has to provide a sound basis for explaining, defining and predicting behaviour. The first school I ever went to was Early Learners where I learned the basics. But of course in preschool you don t really get graded or anything. After all, it is pre school. But the second school I went to was Table Mound. Over by Casey s and all those places. Table Mound was definitely a big place for me. Back then anyways, I looked at it like it was a huge school. There I also had to move because I was outside the school district, and we moved into a trailer. And the trailer was really nice on the inside, and it had 2 bathrooms so I didn t really care. Next I went to Audubon, where I moved back to my old house, where I still live now. Then I went to Thomas Jefferson Middle School. And I like this place a lot. I like how we don t have to stay in one class, and I also like how we can have our phones out at lunch. And I think I don t get as mad in class because if I get frustrated with a teacher, I don t have to stay with them the whole day. And that s why I like middle school the most. Most of my friends think I m funny but that s because they re easy to make laugh. And so am I, I guess, but I think it s a good thing. In the future I want to be a computer programmer, like a person that makes games. Or an electrician, but that s really only because it pays well, and a lot of my family members were electricians too. Redbox was later purchased by Coinstar, Inc., and over the years, Redbox has rented over one billion movies and has grown to more than 27,000 locations in restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies and convenience stores nationwide. Redbox proves to be a very unique way to rent DVD s and by the nature of Redbox s rental process, most businesses would benefit from the increased traffic generated by having a kiosk machine at their location. Not only does Redbox provide a unique service, they provide it at a low cost at convenient locations. Most movie rental stores charge $4 5 to rent a new release for approximately 3 days, whereas Redbox provides a similar service for $1.29 per night. This is extremely cheap considering most consumers watch their movie rental the same day they rent it. Furthermore, Redbox gets this low cost movie rental product to the consumer through a channel of distribution historically associated with snack foods and soda. By providing movie rentals through vending machines called kiosks located at shopping locations where consumers already go to shop, they have eliminated much of the costs associated with conventional movie rental stores and the need for consumers to make an additional stop just to rent a movie. Since Redbox s inception, it has experienced enormous growth and profit, but they will need to evolve in order to get ahead of the curve. Although Redbox appears to have established themselves as a formidable competitor to Netflix and Blockbuster, they are facing a gruesome reality. The take home movie rental business is rapidly losing ground to online streaming video directly to consumers homes via the internet. Netflix has already been providing this service for quite some time and both Redbox and Blockbuster are feeling the pressure. Blockbuster, Inc. has already declared ... The Public School Education System Is Failing Our Youth Hailey Hunter Professor Graue English Composition I 19th November 2015 The Public School Education System is failing our Youth While in high school, many students complained about standardized testing and how ridiculous it was our education standards were on the line for it. How we never learned anything long enough to remember it. Students are supposed to enjoy learning. Instead students dread their mornings and hours spent in a classroom. Pass the OGT or the new PARCC testing in order to graduate. Being taught at an impossible pace that many cannot remember the information for the next year but instead just remember for the moment. There are teachers who are sitting fancy, but don t even do their job to the core standards. Looking at a few others who notice these flaws, a source from Sandra Stotsky s article says: To begin with, education schools supply far too many teachers with an inadequate background in the subjects they are licensed to teach. As one school administrator discovered when she examined her teacher s college transcripts while preparing a proposal for a Teaching American History grant, fully one third of our middle school social studies teachers had zero hours in college history courses. Another 53 percent had fewer than ten hours of any college history. (Stotsky 44). Many teachers cannot answer your questions simple or not. The Drug War along the border of Mexico and the United States is one of the longest coordinated engagements of law enforcement (who have accepted the aid of the Mexican military) in both countries history (Winslow, 2015). The history of this unofficial war is extraordinarily complicated; rife with both political and criminal players, violence, corruption, bad policy, and controversy. Its importance to America and Mexico cannot be underestimated, especially in its role in legislation, law enforcement techniques, and public opinion. Over the next two decades, the US carried out swift and largely effective operations to stop the flow of cocaine from Columbia through the Caribbean (Vance, 2011). The Columbians, frustrated by the DEA s efforts there, sought a new pathway to the lucrative American public and they turned to Mexico. • 16. The Importance Of Naturalism In Eveline Eveline is a short story in the genre of naturalism which means that it centres on life as it is and it stresses the importance of the environment and heredity in shaping human destiny. It was written by James Joyce in 1904 as part of a collection of portraits of people who lived in Dublin around 1900 titled Dubliners. The story features only two main settings Eveline s house and the port and lasts only the span of one day. It was written by Joyce to show the monotonous lives of the people who lived in Dublinat the time. Joyce was openly critical of Irish parochialism and he wrote Eveline to prove his belief that Ireland does not permit the development of individuality, as the character Eveline is presented by Joyce to be the absolute epitome of Irish parochialism; rather than go after her ambition to leave Ireland for a better life, Eveline s life is lead by her sense of duty. We see this when Eveline doubts her ambitions, In her home any way she had shelter and food; she had those whom she had known all her life about her, The simplistic reasoning that Joyce uses conveys the absolute autonomy of Eveline s life as her only reasons to not chase her ambition are basic requirements for most people s lives. Eveline, unfortunately, leads the stereotypical life for a woman in Ireland around that time as her life was ruled by her sense of duty and the men in her life rather than by her ambitions and herself. The reason Joyce did this was so he could share the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Hamlet Film Analysis Over the course of the past fifty years there have been many cinematic productions of Shakespeare s Hamlet, some of which remain true to the text while others take greater liberties from the original format. In contrast, Franco Zeffirelli conducted his 1990 production of Hamletin a much more liberal direction in which lines, scenes and characters were omitted from film. I concur that the following elements reflect the level of liberty taken in regards to the text and that these elements determine which film is the best; changes to dialogue, changes to plot, presence of theme portrayal of emotions and the setting. In 1996 Kenneth Branagh starred as Hamlet in his self directed version of the play. Branagh s script for the film was fiercely loyal to Shakespeare s original words which resulted in a four hour cinematic experience. Why A Mass Murderer Commits A Crime Essay As usual, he was dressed in black that day, Jamie Rouse saw two female teachers talking in the hallway, so he silently progressed towards them, and shot both of the teachers in the head. Then with a grin, Jamie turned towards the school s football coach. Instead of hitting the coach Jamie tore a bullet through a student s throat. Sadly, sixteen year old Diane Collins ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time. She died that day. According to a study, rampage killers usually talk long before their heinous plans to commit the murder. Also, in 54 of the 100 cases, shooters like Jamie gave direct blueprints of where, when, and who they predetermined to kill (Glaberson, and Goodstein). Others heard or saw the shooter go through earlier tendencies, signs of mental illnesses, and the people or places around the killerfailed to do anything about the shooter s plan. For fame, revenge, or simply a sense of belonging, there are many reasons why a mass murderer commits a crime. According to Andrea Bonior, she has a Ph. • 34. Similarities Between The Solider And Dulce Et Decorum Est The Solider by Rupert Brooke and Dulce et decorum Est by Wilfred Owen, are two poems written during the time of World War One (WW1). Both poems are an example of each authors perception on war, Owens being about the spiteful reality and Brookes about the glory of dying one s country. Although they are two very different perspectives both are based around the horrors of war and the unimaginable amount of deaths that WW1 had caused. There are numerous amounts of similarities between the two poems Dulce et Decorum Est and The Soldier . Throughout The Soldier Brooke revels the fact that fighting in war for the sole purpose of defending ones country is courageous, he supports this act by writing And think, this heart, all evil shed... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the first stanza of Dulce et Decorum Est , the reader is instantly drawn in with Bent double . This gives the poem a feeling of immediacy which is then followed up by a detailed description of what is to come. Till on the haunting flares we turned our backs/ Men marched asleep/ Many had lost their boots but limped on. The reader is yet again, drawn into the graphic scene of war. The alliteration Knock kneed emphasises the battle weariness of the soldiers and intensifies the way they depicted war. Owen creates rhythm throughout the stanza by littering the poem with pauses. He uses this technique in the line All went blind; Drunk with fatigue; death even to the hoots Of tired . Owen makes the scene more vivid by bringing in his own involvement to war with we cursed through the sludge , he uses the term sludge to help capture the agony which was being experienced by the soldiers. The Soldier is one of numerous poems written at the beginning of war (before Dulce et Decorum Est ) to attract naive young men who believed enrolling in war would be an exciting adventure allowing them to travel the world. Brooke welcomes death in his sonnet and expresses that he feels privileged to have been raised in England, believing it was a blessing. In the first stanza, Brooke gives the impression of England being a tranquil country, in which he feels honoured to be English. If I should die, think ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Pat Tillman Character Analysis Somewhere inside, we hear a voice. It leads us in the direction of the person we wish to become. But it is up to us whether to follow or not. Pat Tillman was a man of many great qualities. One of the big qualities of Pat Tillman that made him known was his modesty. First let s start off with a time when Pat was in High school. After winning the state title in football, Pat was interviewed after having an amazing game. He was asked about how he felt he did and he stated that he didn t do that good, but the team had a great game. Pat Tillman most certainly did not care about money. When he first got drafted he didn t go and spend his bonus money on a new car and the new clothes that were in style, some people even stated they thought he was ... In high school, Pat was told by his baseball coach to stay out for baseball and not do football, but instead he told his coach he was going to work hard and get a division 1 football scholarship. Pat was only about 5 4 at this time and was really small in weight and size. He worked hard and eventually got his division 1 football scholarship. He was later on drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the 7th round. Many have said that, since Pat is smaller than most college and NFL players he had to work really hard and without this drive Pat would have never even been drafted. As soon as he was officially an Arizona Cardinal and practices started, Pat went all out and made the most of his opportunity. Most of the other players started to get irritated with how hard Pat was going in practices, but that is exactly the kind of player the coaching staff wanted on their team. Through all of Pat s hard work he ended up starting for the Cardinals as a safety. He kept on dominating on the field and this led to the media and press being all around him. He had a press conference and Pat stated If you re going to do something you have to do it with passion, or there is no reason to even do ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. Characterisation Of Iago And Iago In William Shakespeare s... Shakespeare created the character of Iago in a complex way that made critics differ when interpreting the role he played in the Othello drama. A.C. Bradley consider that the tragedy is the undoing of the noble Moor by the devilish cunning of Iago, (1963[1952], p. 137). It was external evil, the malice of the devil, that turned a happy story of romantic lovers who were capable to live happily ever after, so to speak into a tragedy while literary critic F. R. Leavis attacks the Bradley view, asserting that the fact is that in Shakespeare s tragedy of OthelloOthello is the chief personage the chief personage in such a sense that the tragedy may fairly be said to be Othello s character in action. Iagois subordinate and merely ancillary. (p. 138). Surely there is some truth in both views. Whether we agree or disagree with these views depends on how we read the whole play, and how we understand Shakespeare s characterisation of Othello and Iago throughout. While reading this article I questioned how individuals abusing the disabled got away with doing so for so long. Yet, while further reading through the article I realized that this abuse may have resulted in lack of educationon disabled individuals and possible fear of the disabled. The article spoke about how the disabilitymovement did not really start until after Dr. Samuel Gridley started a schoolfor idiotic children (Pfeiffer D. 1993). This was a start to helping disabled more, but a very small start at that. Soon after the school was shut down for dehumanizing the disabled. • 39. Review Of Lord Of The Flies Tabula Rasa over Centuries People say that a person cannot live a positive life with a negative mind. That person has the ability to take action through influence and experience. Lord of the Flies by William Golding gives a graphic example about loss of complete culture to bestial ambience. This may be recognizable with the boys perception on fun and games. Leisure for the children on the island goes from playing Tic Tac Toe in the sand to hunting for pigs and eventually one another. In parallel to the story, this hazardous recreation takes place in our own reality. For children of the 21st century, it manifests as video games. Lord of the Flies amplifies influence, and its effect on adolescent behavior mirroring today s societal interest in the violent virtual world. A supporting idea containing morality connects to the Tabula Rasatheory. John Locke, an Enlightened English philosopher, embraced the importance of experience over speculation. He emphasizes the human mind at birth is a complete, but receptive, blank slate. This ideally proves how experience affects knowledge. Let us then suppose the mind to be, as we say, white paper void of all characters, without any ideas. [...] Whence has it all the materials of reason and knowledge? To this I answer, in one word, from experience. (John Locke, Essay). In relation to this famous idea, the boys lives in Lord of the Flies reinforces the idea immensely. • 40. The Walmart Effect And The Big Thirst By Charles Fisher Earth is filled with vast amounts of water, yet it s like a cruel joke to people who cannot drink it due to its toxicity to us. Likewise, fresh water is our most precious resource that people depend on every day. Our society is based around the use of large amounts of water in our everyday lives. Charles Fisher, a three time winner of the Gerald Loeb award, a writer for the magazine Fast Company, and the author of The Walmart Effect and The Big Thirst, tells a different story. In the article Will the World Run out of Fresh Water, which explains that people take water for granted and never see its true value like people in the past, published at the Detroit Greenhaven Press in 2012. Because we use vast amounts of water and never see the process in which water is given to people, Fisherman proposes this idea that water is taken for granted until we run out, which is more than true. Each day, our homes receive gallons upon gallons of water for our living necessities to live a comfortable life. In the article Fisher explains that at least in the developed world, we have gradually been able to stop thinking about water . This is due to being around water all our lives. We have been conditioned from day one to believe fresh water will never run out. Even our emotional connections to water have become submerged and camouflaged , for example when a person in America sees someone spilling a cup of water on the ground they do not even care to tell them they are being wasteful, which ... From both the primal perspective and a contemporary perspective, I believe that the initiation rituals were/are important because they mark the first time a person is formally introduced to the community as a member. I think initiation rituals are a way for the people to feel like they truly belong to their respective religious communities. During the primal religious period, there was virtually no knowledge about the origins of the world and life itself. Therefore, rituals were valued because they proposed some answers and a sense of unification for the people. For many people/religions the initiation and rituals were a way of life in the face of an unknown world. They were also a way for the community members to prove that they were willing, in some cases, to suffer for their religion. In today s world, the initiation rituals of religions, like baptism, have much of the same intentions as that of the early religious people. From my ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Iranian Sexual Revolution Although family law and official discourse still remain patriarchal, however, globalization, women s movement activities, improving levels of education, improving new communication technologies and the implementation of modernization s policies, have led Iranians to confront dominant sexual discourse through a modern life style and they also try to customize the traditional perceptions of sexuality with new attitudes. These transformations are remarkable enough to some scholars who called it a kind of sexual revolution. For instance, Pardis Mahdavi (2007) after her long time investigation on the private life style of a part of the urban youth in Iran, stated that in spite of legal prohibitions against pre marital sex, homosexuality, dancing parties and alcohol consumption, contemporary youths in Iran oppose these constrains and make their own definitions of life style and relationships. The writer proposed a kind of revolution to represent the new changes. Women in Islam are; mothers, sisters, partners, workers, scholars and business owners and managers (al Hashimi 4). Within this research paper, we will review the role of a woman in Islamand their daily source of happiness. An Islamic woman, on the basis of a comparative life, is hardly different from say, an American woman. In some aspects, an American woman may be in awe to learn the truth behind the Muslim female world. For example, when a married American woman has a family to support and works to provide income, this is to help her husband support their family together. The Collapse Of Andrew Carnegie The late 1800 s and early 1900 s a new era had commenced; the rise of unprecedented fortunes and unprecedented poverty, loosening social mores, unsanitary food production, the onrush of foreign immigration, environmental destruction confronted Americans. The rise of fortunes came the rise of the keepers of fortunes, one of which was Andrew Carnegie. His business, which became known as the Carnegie Steel Company, revolutionized steel production in the United States. Carnegie built plants around the country, using technology and methods that made manufacturing steel easier, faster and more productive. For every step of the process, he owned exactly what he needed: the raw materials, ships and railroads for transporting the goods, and even coal fields to fuel the steel furnaces. President Obama s Making Home Affordable program has been a step in the right direction insofar as it encourages homeowners to work with their lenders to modify their mortgageloans. These modifications have helped borrowers by allowing them to keep their homes, and they have helped lenders by allowing them to receive more money than they would typically receive in the auctions sale which almost always inevitably follows a foreclosure. Typically, that purchased property is pledged to the lender as security, for the loan, meaning that if the debtor fails to repay the lender, the lender can then repossess that security property, in order to satisfy the loan. Frequently, when a debtor enters the bankruptcy process, that debtor will owe more money on the loan than the actual value of the property. In these instances, Section 506(a) of the Bankruptcy Code allows some (but not all) debtors to reduce the secured debt owed to the lender to the value of the property securing the debt. The rest of the debt the difference between the value of the property and the amount owed on the loan becomes general non priority unsecured debt. Because in Chapter 13 Bankruptcy, debtors plans must contain provisions requiring the debtor to repay secured debt in full, but oftentimes may also contain provisions requiring the debtor to pay only pennies on the dollar of general unsecured debt, this stripping down essentially allows the debtor to keep her property by paying only slightly more than the value of the property over a period of time. This process, which allows buyers to keep their property, restructure their payment options over a longer period, and pay an amount nearly equal to the value of the property, is currently unavailable to homeowners with home mortgages.
