Space Case: Moving From a Physical to a Virtual Journal CollectionNASIG
Journal publishing has evolved and changed considerably over the years, leaving many libraries to grapple with analyzing and identifying the purpose and scope of these collections. After numerous discussions and an analysis of how the current print journal collection was being used, Kraemer Family Library at UCCS decided to withdraw over 50% of the library's print journal holdings in order to create a collaborative space for students. Library staff members in charge of this project identified, analyzed and removed from the library over 30,000 volumes in less than six months. Evaluation criteria used to determine what to keep and what to withdraw, along with criteria used to determine whether the electronic version met the library's needs, was negotiated among librarians and used in the creation of Excel spreadsheets sent out to each subject selector. With limited staffing and no specialized tools, librarians and students were able to transform the old journal stacks into a vibrant and creative meeting space. Journal collections that were left became more visible and other collections that had been languishing in the stacks could now be highlighted. This presentation will highlight the steps used to complete this daunting project and communication goals and methods employed to keep library staff members, faculty on campus and other constituents aware of the changes taking place in the library. At the end of the presentation, participants will be given a series of steps that can be replicated by other libraries facing similar projects.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

Excel 2007 Share Excel Data By Exporting It To A Share Point Site
1. Microsoft ® Office Excel ® 2007 Training Share Excel data by exporting it to a SharePoint site Jim Taliaferro Community Mental Health Center
2.
3. Overview: Making data available Share Excel data by exporting it to a SharePoint site Does your company use a Microsoft Windows SharePoint ® Services 3.0 site or Office SharePoint Server 2007 site? If you want to enable more than one person at a time to update data in one place, you may want to learn how to export Excel data to your SharePoint site. Here you’ll find out how to get data into that shared location.
6. Share Excel data on your SharePoint site Share Excel data by exporting it to a SharePoint site Why export Excel data to a SharePoint site instead of sharing data by using e-mail, or by putting data on a network folder somewhere? Your SharePoint site is a shared location on the Web, where those who have the permissions to do so can access data by using a Web browser. Take the SharePoint list in this picture. Each employee can add his or her data whenever it’s convenient, with no waiting while someone else works on the list.
7. Create a table Share Excel data by exporting it to a SharePoint site To export the list of names to your SharePoint site, you start in Excel, where you’ll get the data ready to export. To do that, convert the data to an Excel table. This changes how the data looks by adding table formatting. But more importantly for now, it allows you to export data to your SharePoint site.
8. Create a table Share Excel data by exporting it to a SharePoint site To create a table, first place the cursor in the data. On the Insert tab, in the Tables group, click Table . After you click OK , Excel adds alternate shading on the rows of data. Excel also adds and AutoFilter arrows on the columns. You don’t need to do anything with them; AutoFilter arrows are just part of what makes up a table.
9. Get the Web address for your SharePoint site Share Excel data by exporting it to a SharePoint site Before you can export the table to your SharePoint site, you need the Web address, or URL, of your SharePoint site. You’ll want to become familiar with the URL, which is at the top, in the address bar. You only need to become familiar with everything before “/default.aspx,” or in this example, “http://contoso.” Important: To export your table, you need permission to create a list on your SharePoint site.
10. Export the table: Part I Share Excel data by exporting it to a SharePoint site Now you’re ready to get the table to your SharePoint site. On the Table Tools Design tab that appears when you create a table, in the External Table Data group… … click Export … … and then click Export Table to SharePoint List .
11. Export the table: Part II Share Excel data by exporting it to a SharePoint site The Export Table to SharePoint List Wizard starts. Type or paste the URL address of your SharePoint site. Type a name for the list, for example, Training presentations . Type a brief description of what the list is for.
12. Export the table: Part II Share Excel data by exporting it to a SharePoint site The Export Table to SharePoint List Wizard starts. Decide whether you want to be able to update the table in Excel with changes made to the SharePoint list later on. If you do, select the Create a read-only connection to the new SharePoint list check box.
13. Export the table: Part II Share Excel data by exporting it to a SharePoint site The Export Table to SharePoint List Wizard starts. Click Next in the dialog box to verify that the types of data in each column are properly recognized. Then click Finish . Excel automatically exports the table as a list to your SharePoint site.
14. See your new list on the SharePoint site Share Excel data by exporting it to a SharePoint site A link to your list appears in the Windows SharePoint Services dialog box. You can either click OK to close the dialog box, or click the link in the dialog box to take a look at your list. It opens on the SharePoint site in Datasheet view —which looks similar to a spreadsheet — ready for everyone to add their information to the list. And without the need to open Excel!
15. Tell people where the list is Share Excel data by exporting it to a SharePoint site The next step is to let people know where the list is on your SharePoint site. There are two ways to do this. Send a link to the list. You’ll see the URL address for the list at the top of your Web browser in the address bar. Add the list to the SharePoint Quick Launch bar on the left side of most SharePoint sites.
16. Revise the SharePoint list Share Excel data by exporting it to a SharePoint site With the list in Datasheet view, anyone with permission to do so can just type in the appropriate areas to add their data. For example, Wendy can type her presentation date and name.
17. Update the Excel table data Share Excel data by exporting it to a SharePoint site Imagine that by now others have added their information to the SharePoint list. You can, of course, look at the revised data in the SharePoint list. But if you want, you can refresh the table in Excel to also see the revisions in Excel, provided that you selected the read-only connection check box when you exported the list.
18. Update the Excel table data Share Excel data by exporting it to a SharePoint site Imagine that by now others have added their information to the SharePoint list. To refresh the data, on the Table Tools Design tab, in the External Table Data group, click Refresh . The data in Excel is updated.
19. Update the Excel table data Share Excel data by exporting it to a SharePoint site If after refreshing and getting updates from a SharePoint list to Excel, can you make changes in Excel and send them up to the SharePoint list? Sorry, it’s not possible. The data can only be edited on the SharePoint site and refreshed in Excel, not the other way around. Or, you can make changes in Excel and then export the table as a new SharePoint list, using a different name for the new list.
20. Your version is important Share Excel data by exporting it to a SharePoint site This course covers how to export Excel data to a SharePoint list on Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 or Office SharePoint Server 2007. You may experience things differently if you’re using an earlier version. How do you know which version you have? Ask the person in charge of your site. If you are the person in charge, then ask the person who set up your server, likely in your IT department.
